The Structure Of The Book Of Zohar

Laitman_151Question: How is The Book of Zohar organized?
Answer: The Book of Zohar is a commentary on the five books of the Torah and is divided according to the sections of the Torah. There are many parts of The Book including the preface.
The Torah describes the states of the upper spiritual worlds. The Book of Zohar describes the same thing, but in commentary closer to Kabbalists. It opens everything to a person.
The Torah is not intended to reveal the upper world to a person; it is simply a record of spiritual states. The Book of Zohar helps a person attain the upper world.
The Torah is a book that tells about all the depths of the management of our world, that is, the upper world, in all its details. And The Book of Zohar is a commentary, which explains what is written in the Torah but in an allegorical way. Therefore, only a Kabbalist can understand it.
But still it is closer to a person, and thanks to it we begin to realize what is said in the Torah itself.
“The Preface to The Book of Zohar” is a volume that describes the basic control system of our world. It is a collection of articles, each of which describes a certain control system, a specific node, a control unit, for our world. The Book of Zohar includes some other articles, such as “Idra Raba” and “Idra Zuta,” which express more internal depths of the system.
It is similar in our world. If we study some part of a car, the power system, for example. We study the carburetor, how it prepares the mixture for combustion in the engine, etc. That is, the work of a particular system is allocated in separate blocks. The same is true of the articles in The Book of Zohar: “Idra Raba,” Idra Zuta,” and “Safra de Tzniuta.”

What Is Unification?

laitman_936Question: What is unification? Is it a result or a process?
Answer: Unification is a gradual process in which we unite our yearnings for the upper world, for the Creator, for the connection between us above our egoism. It is the unification of our points in the heart in the aspiration for the Creator in spite of the egoism.

Is There A Good Inclination In A Person?

laitman_547.05Question: Can I distinguish an evil inclination and a good inclination within me?
Answer: No. Initially a person has no good desires; we divide them into more egoistic and less egoistic desires.
Question: But doesn’t every person have a point in the heart?
Answer: Right, but first it must be identified. From the point in the heart, a person must gradually grow the good inclination, which is a “desire to bestow,” like bacteria are cultivated in a petri dish.
Question: Are the good deeds in our world where people help each other and even sacrifice their lives for the sake of others relevant here?
Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t talk about the level of this world, about those deeds a person carries out due to compassion, habit, or education.
If you leave a child to grow in a forest, he will not do anything good. Yet, if he is educated in an environment that teaches him to distinguish between good and evil, it will create within him definitions and instincts that he cannot help but carry them out because he feels bad otherwise. In other words, he will do everything from egoistic impulses, including the good deeds.
Suppose that a piece of sausage is lying in front of you. A dog can snatch it from the table and eat it, while I cannot do this, even if I really wanted to, because I have a feeling of shame, self-pride. That is how I was taught; I was given egoistic guidance that I cannot violate. This is called egoism.
We could call this good behavior, education, good impulses, yet there is nothing in them except for an ego that takes on a particular framework and therefore feels bad outside of these frameworks and doesn’t go outside of them. In our world, this is called ethics, but we don’t consider ethics to be correction.
Question: What is a good action in the wisdom of Kabbalah?
Answer: A good action is an action that I carry out with my free choice, with the characteristic of bestowal, with an intention for the sake of bestowal.

Does The Creator Have A Mind?

Laitman_631.5Question: Can we say that the Creator has intelligence, a mind?
Answer: This is all in a person. After all, we are not speaking about the Creator . When we say “Creator,” we mean “come and see.” You speak about Him to the degree that you attain Him in your feelings. But it is in your feelings. We don’t know anything about the Creator Himself before we attain Him in our feelings.
Question: If we look at what the Creator has created, at nature, can we conclude that the upper force is probably wise because He created us?
Answer: This is a childish approach.
Question: Does this mean that I cannot say that the Creator is wise according to what I see?
Answer: You can because everything in nature was indeed created wisely and this means that the internal force of nature is also wise, but what then?
Question: Isn’t that a proof for a Kabbalist?
Answer: No. Proof is attainment not the revelation of something on the level of the corporeal world, in our one-sided egoistic attributes and desires.

What Is The Upper Light Made Of?

laitman_562.01Question: What material is the upper Light made of?
Answer: There is no material in the upper Light. We perceive the Light only as the origin of the pleasure that fills us, and we define it from the feeling that is created in us. It is like, for example, the electricity that we perceive as a result of its manifestation in materials.

Fulfilling My Mission…

laitman_551Question: How can I determine if my pleasure causes harm to others?
Answer: A person’s greatest pleasure is achieved when others praise and honor him, actually carry him on their shoulders, when he feels that he is higher than others and that others need him.
A person has no need for anything else in life other than feeling the importance of his personality; this is the highest form of ego. It extends to the level in which he demands that the Creator honor him. It is like The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish: it served him and fulfilled its mission.
Question: The whole world turns to the Creator with requests. So isn’t someone who asks the Creator for anything an egoist?
Answer: It depends on what you are asking for and for what purpose.
Question: Suppose I ask for money or health for myself or my family?
Answer: That is what little egoists ask. But they also don’t get anything, but simply ask.

Rights To The Temple Mount

3Question: There was a very tense situation last week in Israel, especially in Jerusalem in connection with the Temple Mount. Do you see this situation moving toward a positive resolution or will it end catastrophically?
Answer: Naturally, in the end, all will be well, but by which route are we going to come to this happy ending: by the route of suffering or without it? It all depends on the nation of Israel. Unfortunately, judging by the behavior of the entire nation in Israel and abroad, there are no signs that the process is going along the positive route.
We are trying to broadly disseminate the methodology of correction and calling on the nation of Israel to use this resource to bring correction to the entire world. But if the nation does not awaken to this call, then the correction will not go according to the way of the light but rather by the way of suffering. And unfortunately that is what is happening now. That is why we see the unrest on the Temple Mount and police involvement.
Day after day, a very complex ideological war is being waged and the entire world is ready to accept the infamous lie that neither the Temple Mount nor the caves with the graves of our patriarchs in Hebron belong to the Jewish people. If not, then who do they belong to? But the truth is not important to anyone—what is important is what benefits egoism in any given moment.
It seems as though the nation of Israel does not want to accept the truth and acknowledge its responsibility to work toward bestowal and to teach it to the entire world, bringing the entire world to correction. It resists its mission, thinking that the truth lies in following the Torah and the commandments in a material form or maybe in not following anything at all. Accordingly, all this results in our condition becoming increasingly worse from day to day.
And it will continue to get worse and worse until we finally understand that we must correct ourselves first and then the entire world, as the head and the body. Because Israel is called “the head is mine” (Li Rosh) and all the rest of the nations of the world are the body of the collective soul, then all will eventually unite in one corrected humanity, working for bestowal in collective unity.
In the worst case scenario, terrible misfortune awaits us. Baal HaSulam warned us that we may be exiled from this land again if we are not able to turn it into the genuine “Land of Israel” (rather than bringing with us the same state of exile in which we existed among the nations of the world). Even now, we continue to peddle their culture and their relationship to life.
Based on this, it seems that we do not have the right to exist on this land because we are no different than anyone else. In fact, quite the opposite: it is as if we “desecrate” this holy place with our existence.
We do not have the right to rise to the spiritual “Temple Mount” because that can only happen when we are all united and in adhesion with the Creator. And this is why we see that the nations of the world do not permit us to enter the material Temple Mount because the material world is a projection of the spiritual world.
Until the time when we correct ourselves—even to a minimal degree—to resemble the Temple Mount and the temple, which represent our unity, we will continue to see in the external, material world all kinds of conflict and problems.
And the entire world will agree with the Arabs that neither the Torah nor the Temple Mount nor Jerusalem and not even Tel Aviv and the entire land of Israel belong to us.
It is not in vain that they call themselves Palestinians and not Arabs; they want to present themselves as an ostensibly ancient nation that was always on this land. And the entire world will believe them. And we have no one to blame for this because we ourselves created the condition in which Arabs rise and we fall. We create this situation with our own hands.

The Creator And The Created Being—Light And Desire

laitman_617In the spiritual world there is no time, space, or motion.Definitions and states characteristic of our world are irrelevant.
The spiritual world consists of only two components: Light and matter (desire). We cannot say anything about the Light; it is in a state of absolute rest because it does not change and it has no desire except to fill the created being, which receives as much as necessary. And therefore we have nothing to say about the Light; it is ready for anything, open to creation.
There is nothing in the Light except for the desire to permanently bestow upon the created being.
The Light is ready for this and the created being must reach an equivalence of form with the Light in order to get closer and to receive it. The created being undergoes different states because great changes take place in the desire and in the intentions, which are its essence.
In the first state, the created being wants to receive everything from the Light. Then he discovers that he cannot continue like that and decides to bestow to the Light because he feels distant and opposite from it when he only receives, which makes him feel shame.
But what can he bestow in order to resemble the Light? Nothing. Therefore, he restricts himself, which is called the first restriction.
Now the created being can use the fact that the Light wants to fill him to the extent that he can think about his bestowal unto the Light. To the extent that the created being bestows unto the Light (P1), the Light fills him, and although the Light is first, it becomes dependent on the created being (P2).

In the state P1, it is the intention of the created being that actually determines everything.
To the degree that the created being can resemble the Light with the intention to bestow unto the Light, the Light can fill him and a special form of closeness called adhesion is built between them.
This is the state that should be reached. It is everything. The created being should totally transform itself into the intention that the Creator will fill it with Light only in order to bring Him pleasure. It looks up to the Creator and gives itself to Him loyally: He wants to fill me and I want to be filled by Him, and I only take into account what brings the Creator pleasure: that He fulfills me.

“You Will Take Much Seed Out To The Field, Yet You Will Gather In Little”

laitman_741.02Torah, Deuteronomy 28:38: You will take much seed out to the field, yet you will gather in little, for the locusts will finish it.
This is about the fact that you work, but receive nothing; the locusts destroy everything because you do not deserve to get the correct harvest.
You plant your egoism (the correct seeds), but you cannot grow them properly and turn them into good deeds. Your egoism works for itself and not for bestowal, and therefore everything is eaten; everything disappears.
Question: But if I planted these seeds, doesn’t it mean my intention was correct?
Answer: No. You wanted to reap a harvest from them. And since the seeds were planted with the wrong intention, the locusts devour the sprouts and you receive nothing from them. That is, you receive, but only in order to exist further, trying to figure out what the problem is.
If we look at life in this way, then really there is nothing we can do after this. We are facing a half-starved existence until there is the next opportunity to plant and grow a harvest. After all, this is not about today’s development of biotechnologies and such. If you have a harvest, you live, and if you do not, you die.

In A Single Spiritual System

laitman_264.01Question: If people, having acquired the quality of bestowal, do not even know that their desire is full, then what changes in the spiritual system?
Answer: What is different is that all the people fulfill the system because all of us are interconnected and become parts of one closed system. There are all seven billion people in the system and all of us must be interconnected like cells in one body, fully providing for each other.

Nothing can be otherwise except for full support and mutual integration with each other.

Living In Harmony With The Creator

laitman_527.03Question: How is it possible to understand that the Creator manages all of my actions? This is a kind of spiritual schizophrenia. I feel that I am carrying out all the actions and really believe that He is the one carrying them out. How is it possible to live with this?
Answer: Live comfortably and do not worry. You don’t need to drop this on anyone; everything that you do, you will do.
This is not a split personality; it just seems that way at first. In fact, this is achieved to the same degree in which the person becomes similar to the Creator, so there is no split between whether it is me or the Creator; everything goes on very simply.
The person connects himself with the Creator and sees how the Creator is found in his entire body, in all his desires and intentions. The Creator manages him, he agrees, is satisfied, and from his side he wants to coordinate all his actions, desires, and intentions with the Creator.

Vanguard Of Humanity

laitman_941Torah, Deuteronomy 28:36: The Lord will lead you and your king whom you will have established over you, to a nation unknown to you or your fathers; and there, you will serve other deities [made] of wood and stone.
“King,” first and foremost, is those people who must lead all of humanity. If they do wrong, then naturally there is a special demand from them. We see this in the Jews. Periodically they are hit with such sufferings that no other nation has ever experienced.
However, when I see how many people are suffering today in our neighboring countries, I have great fears that all of it must somehow come back to us. If we do not start a serious ideological attack and dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah to humanity, then all of this will return to us like a boomerang.
We have come to a state when we must scatter Kabbalistic knowledge like seeds all over the world. After all, in relation to the entire world, we are its ideological part, its vanguard.

There Is No Going Back In Spirituality

laitman_622.02Question: Is the path of a Kabbalist in one direction? If you cross the border between the physical and the spiritual world, is there any way back?
Answer: Who would want to descend from the level where the nature of the upper world, the leadership system, the past, the present, and the future, and the Creator, the force that manages everything, is revealed to him—if he can actually see and participate in all that?
The Book of Zohar calls the people of this world creatures whose pupils are turned inward, into themselves, and refers to Kabbalists as to those whose eyes look outward and see what is really going on. It is impossible to convey the harmony, the happiness, and the attainments that a Kabbalist discovers, which is indeed a great reward.

Restriction Without Shame

laitman_527.01Question: How does the creature, which is 100% desire, restrict itself? What is the spiritual action called Tzimtzum (Restriction)?
Answer: The creature was created by the Light. The Light that operates within the creature makes it possible for the creature to overcome and control its desire and even perform actions against its desire. Under the influence of the Light, the characteristic to oppose itself is discovered within the desire.
Malchut, which receives the upper Light, feels its influence, its love, and feels shame from the lack of compatibility with the Light, the Creator. As a result of feeling shame, it invites a reaction in its desire that compels it to stop receiving the Light. The desire remains, only the act of reception is restricted.
Question: Is it possible to make a restriction on the desire to receive without feeling shame?
Answer: No, without feeling shame, there will be no drive for the creature to perform an action that is contrary to its nature.

Us And The Creator

laitman_558Question: Is the Creator inside us or are we inside the Creator? How does a Kabbalist feel that?
Answer: It is both. It makes no difference because it is a mutual state. The Creator is everything there is. It makes no difference what framework you attribute to Him: square, triangle, or round, we are inside Him.
[210235]

How Did The First Matter Appear?

laitman_747.04Question: How does Kabbalah explain the first appearance of matter?
Answer: The first substance appears from a point of Light or a thin ray of light that produces the desire that is opposite the Light under it. A ray of Light is not a ray of light in our world; rather, this is a desire to bestow that creates a desire to receive under it. A desire is a force.
Question: From where does the Creator have a desire?
Answer: We cannot say anything about the Creator Himself. We learn the wisdom of Kabbalah beginning from the moment we attain the Creator and His relationship toward us, meaning the beginning of the appearance of an intention to create a creature and bring it to a particular state. About what existed before then, we cannot say because He was not yet called a Creator.
Question: If so, the desire to create a creature is the Big Bang?
Answer: Yes, but this didn’t happen in the physical world as the physicists say.
Question: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah there are five worlds. Were they created after the creature?
Answer: These worlds were not created and don’t exist on their own. They exist only within a person. When we attain the upper world, we immediately discover it in a picture of five worlds. If we don’t perceive them, then these worlds don’t exist.
For example, the world of Atzilut is the world of the Creator, meaning His revelation, therefore it is called “Atzilut” from the word, “Etzlo” (with Him).
Question: Why is the Creator called first? Is it because He preceded the creature?
Answer: It is because His desire exists in the beginning of everything that happens and He manages every action.

The Book Of Zohar, Learning The Spiritual Language

laitman_531.01We should not yearn to understand what we read in The Book of Zohar with our corporeal mind. It is better to totally shut the mind off and to try to hear or to read and at the same time open our mouth like a baby who doesn’t understand anything he is told.
Although a baby doesn’t understand and doesn’t perceive anything, when you say something directly to him he looks at you and tries to understand. It is very important that the baby in me should open his mouth that way and simply try to understand what he is told.
In our world a baby learns how to speak this way; we have to teach the spiritual language in the same manner, and thus we will acquire it. If we process the text of The Zoharthrough our understanding of our world, we will not understand or know anything.
Nothing in The Book of Zohar has anything to do with our world. It tells us about animals, people, palaces, mountains, rivers, etc., but all these images refer to the attributes of the upper world, to different vectors we don’t fully know or feel.
Therefore, we should not make anything up because we can imagine whatever we want in our distorted egoistic attributes and feelings, but all this has nothing to do with the spiritual world so we will only confuse ourselves.
It was determined that The Book of Zohar will actually be revealed in our generation, which is very far from spirituality and cannot imagine anything sublime in a correct way. Therefore, it can easily relinquish the need to connect the text of The Zohar to the corporeal world and read it only in order to evoke and summon the upper Light unto ourselves, which will reveal The Book inside us and depict for us what is happening inside us and not on the outside.
We must remember that only a person who understands that The Book is about the forces that impact us can understand and perceive The Book of Zohar correctly.

Jpost:“Is It Too Late For American Jewry?”

The Jerusalem Post published my new article “Is It Too Late For American Jewry?

It may already be too late for American Jewry, but uniting the Jews above all the disagreements is still the only thing that can save them from a catastrophe that is now vividly in the horizon.
For more than a year now I’ve been warning that American Jews are putting themselves in danger. I said back then that when America becomes fascist, it would blame it on the Jews. Now that fascism is rising on both sides of the political map, instead of wising up, “Many Jewish leaders,” to quote commentator Isi Leibler, “concentrate more on vilifying Trump than securing and promoting their communal interests. They unashamedly abuse their Jewish institutional roles to promote far-left and liberal agendas, even labeling their opponents antisemites to achieve their goals.”
Jewish leaders and celebrities are racing one another to condemn President Trump for his initial reaction to the Charlottesville ramming. Instead of standing up for unity, they are fueling division. Actress Debra Messing quoted Holocaust survivor and activist Elie Wiesel: “We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” So, speaking of taking sides, I would like to quote a comment that one of Leibler’s readers posed: “Where was all of this Jewish American outrage when that leftist shot up a bunch of softball playing Senators and Congressmen a couple of weeks ago?”
“For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind” (Hosea, 8:7), the Torah warns. The more American Jews fuel the hatred, the more it will turn against them. If Jewish American leaders think that the way to tackle alt-right fascism is to defame the President, demonize his electorate, and delegitimize his administration, they have only themselves to blame when the anger turns against them. They are playing with fire.
Judaism has never been about war, and certainly not about hatred. We pride ourselves in the wisdom of King Solomon, who said, “Hate stirs strife, and love covers all crimes” (Proverbs, 10:12). We coined the tenet, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and our own Rabbi Akiva said that this is the whole of our Torah, our Jewish law. How can we call ourselves Jews as long as we exude such hatred?
We made unity above hatred our motto, our way of life, and now we are doing the exact opposite. The Mishnah tells us (Okatzin, 3:12): “God did not find a vessel that holds a blessing for Israel but peace, as it was said, ‘The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.’” The book Shem Mishmuel writes that “When Israel are ‘as one man with one heart,’ they are a fortified wall against the forces of evil.” So why are we fighting hatred with hatred instead of uniting like our sages suggest? Does anyone really think that patronizing half the US population will diminish anti-Semitism? What kind of lame policy is this?
The only thing that Jews must focus on is unity among themselves. And by unity, I don’t mean that they should unite their ranks against the President, but that they unite all factions of American Jewry: all the denominations, the non-affiliated, the intermarried, the LGBTQ, every single one. If Jews, who are always at the center of attention (and today more so than ever), show America that unity is possible, they will be a positive role model to follow, and everyone will thank the Jewish community for proving it.
The book Likutey Etzot (Assorted Counsels) specifies how we should relate to those with whom we disagree: “The essence of peace is to connect two opposites. Hence, do not be alarmed if you see a person whose view is the complete opposite of yours and you think that you will never be able to make peace with him. Also, when you see two people who are completely opposite to one another, do not say that it is impossible to make peace between them. On the contrary, the essence of peace is to try to make peace above two opposites.”
If American Jewry wants to create that “fortified wall against the forces of evil,” they must remove the walls they have erected toward their brethren. I’m not sure American Jewry has not missed the last train, but the approach of uniting the Jews above all the disagreements among them is the only approach that can save American Jewry from a catastrophe that is now vividly on the horizon.

Age In Our World And In Spirituality

laitman_565.01Question: Are we considered older or younger in the spiritual world compared to our age in this world?
Answer: It is incomparable. A person can be old in this world but may not even exist in the spiritual world; he may not even be considered an embryo and not even a drop of spiritual semen from which he is supposed to develop.

When You Attain, Then You Will Know

laitman_547.03Question: How is it possible to know to what part of the soul a person belongs?
Answer: When you will attain, then you will know. If a person is drawn forward and understands that there is nothing else in the world for him besides the attainment of the Creator and his place in creation, this is a sign that everything is in order with his soul.

The Basis Of The Future Society, Part 3

laitman_942Practical Kabbalah Tools
A Kabbalistic group is a laboratory for the study of nature as one single system. Thanks to the fact that we are building new altruistic desire in the laboratory—that is common to all of us—we see another world: not in the Light of reception, but in the Light of bestowal.
Man ceases to feel himself as a separate individual, but connects with a group of people, and within this connection feels reality as one single system—great and perfect.
Question: What tools can we use to make this change?
Answer: To do this we need to implement the methodology of Kabbalah in practice. Kabbalists discovered this method almost 6,000 years ago and wrote a lot of books about it. There is a clear program that we need to accomplish in ourselves. When we enter this “laboratory,” we get complete instructions and books—everything we need to do this experiment.
This technique is unique and only the people of Israel have it. They used it many thousands of years ago, but then they forgot about it. And today it is time to update this method, not only within the Jewish people, but also to pass it to the whole world.
After all, the world has evolved to such states when it needs this technique. The next stage in the development of humanity is to achieve connection in tens around the world.
Question: How and by what means does our connection take place?
Answer: We go to a group and with the help of all sorts of exercises, we begin to move closer to each other. We understand that it is impossible to break through into a new dimension alone.
After all, we remain egoistic, and to rise above an egoistic nature into the opposite, other nature, which apparently exists as a plus against the minus, can only be achieved by uniting in a group. Only in the group can we discover the power of bestowal.
Question: What are these exercises that enable us to reveal the power of bestowal?
Answer: My teacher, the great Kabbalist Baruch Ashlag, wrote articles about the work in the group. By studying these articles we understand what needs to be done. All exercises are directed to uniting in a circle. The circle means that everyone is equal. Everyone tries to annul his egoism and serve others. Everyone cares about the common connection and tries not to think about themselves but about the friends.
Together we study Kabbalistic books to understand how to become more connected and close to each other. In essence, these are very simple practical exercises; you just need to follow the Kabbalists’ advice and work on it every day.

The Great Goal – To Bring Enjoyment To The Creation

Twelve Tribes In One Nation, Part 1Torah, Deuteronomy 26:8 – 26:11: And the Lord brought us out from Egypt with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm, with great awe, and with signs and wonders. And He brought us to this place, and He gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. And now, behold, I have brought the first of the fruit of the ground which you, O Lord, have given to me.” Then, you shall lay it before the Lord, your God, and prostrate yourself before the Lord, your God. Then, you shall rejoice with all the good that the Lord, your God, has granted you and your household you, the Levite, and the stranger who is among you.
“Brought the first of the fruit of the ground” means to bring intention for all. By bestowing to all, I bestow to the Creator.
Naturally, the Creator, in fact, does not need any fruit. In the corporeal world, they were brought to distribute among the people.
Question: But man exists to enjoy…?
Answer: The Torah does not address a person who wants to enjoy. It requires a completely different attitude.
One can refer to it only if one wants to reach the meaning of life. Otherwise everything is useless, one will only distort it! If one starts interpreting it in his own egoistic manner, he will receive a completely different Torah.
Question: So do I come to the Torah with pain, with a broken heart?
Answer: You do it only with a desire to comprehend the meaning of your existence and to reach its root—the force that guides you! Otherwise, you will “rewrite” it and you will end up having thousands of religions.
Question: Then what does the goal to bring enjoyment to the creation mean?
Answer: To bring enjoyment to the creation is a great goal of a person who knows what to do, how to help others, and how to lead them to adhesion with the Creator, with the quality of bestowal and love that will live in a person and guide his actions. Then a person starts to feel he is at the next level of existence in a completely different world: unlimited by time, life, or death.
Question: Is it hard work?
Answer: If you do it alone, then it’s incredibly hard work, but if you do it together, then it’s very easy. Psychologically, a new approach is required here.
The most important thing is not the work itself, but the right attitude to this task. When a person comes to understand that everything is resolved only together, then everything becomes easy at once.

How To Come To Spiritual Love In The Family?

Laitman_201_01Question: It is written that “A man and a woman, if rewarded, the Shechina dwells between them, and if not, then it is a devouring fire.” What does it mean?
Answer: This speaks of spiritual states not about our corporeal life. It tells us how to combine two forces—positive and negative, that in Kabbalah are called “man” and “woman”—with the help of the middle line. And then they can complement each other and with the right connection achieve perfection and attainment.
If they do not oppose each other correctly, it will lead to a short circuit, and they “burn in the fire.”
Question: Is it possible to achieve such connection and love between two people?
Answer: If each person confronts his egoism, then the two unite in this power of resistance to their egoism and they take the egoism of the other as their own. We need to change: I care about your egoism and you care about mine.
Question: What allows us to annul our own egoism?
Answer: The importance of the goal, that is, the achievement of the connection.
Question: And so we come to spiritual love?
Answer: We are two egoists that want to achieve spiritual love. Each of us compromises his or hier egoism. Then I take my wife’s ego and she takes mine. Both of us care about one another. It turns out that there is something in common between us: a part of me in her and a part of her in me.

Question: What does it mean to take care of the partner’s egoism?
Answer: A husband is ready to praise his wife and she is ready to praise him. Everyone knows all their partner’s weaknesses and habits and accepts them. One has to love all his wife’s faults, her habits, and she should love his because it is important for them to come to love with this common action. The most important thing is the goal: to come to love. The importance of the goal should always be shining for us.
Spouses have to constantly show an example to each other of the importance of the goal. One has to show that he is doing it for the sake of his wife with the condition that he gets the same attitude in return. This becomes a mutual game where each thinks about the other and understands that as a result of this, he will receive from the partner such an attitude that he will never find in any other place.
And then one will feel that this is what he should do. After all, we are egoists, and we want to profit from everything we do. That’s why it’s important to make something beneficial from the marriage.
Question: And if a partner does not want to annul his egoism? What to do then?
Answer: One has to show an example of how he annuls his ego. The example is the most effective tool.

Ten Sefirot Of A Kabbalist

laitman_250Question: Does a Kabbalist possess the characteristics of the nine upper Sefirot?
Answer: Certainly. All ten Sefirot exist within him. The highest is Keter(the Creator). The lowest is Malchut (himself). The remaining eight Sefirot are the connection between him and the Creator.
Keter is the highest Sefira within which the Kabbalist attains the Creator.
