Create The Creator Within Yourself

Laitman_509Question: What does it mean that we create the Creator?
Answer: In reality there is no Creator. The extent to which I can sense the upper Light and correct myself to be similar to it is the part within me that is called the Creator or Boreh (“bo-reh” – come and see).
The revelation of the Creator occurs according to my properties becoming similar to His properties. If there are no such properties currently within me, then there is no Creator within me.
Question: On one hand you say that we create the Creator within us. On the other hand, you say that the Creator does everything: all thoughts come from Him and He controls all people’s actions. There is a contradiction here. How can it be resolved?
Answer: It is very simple. As a matter of fact, the Creator acts the same way I act toward Him. He is the unchangeable force that fills everything, preserves everything within Him, and becomes revealed only to the extent that I move toward Him.

Our Role In Faith Above Reason

laitman_221.0Faith above reason is a feeling that bestowal is above reception, the importance of the Creator is above the importance of the created being and the whole of reality. A person begins to feel that he has a new concern: to do something for the Creator’s sake and in such a way that the Creator will not even know about it, to bestow in concealment, humbly, without any intention to receive a reward.
We need to ask for this power so that it will govern us and give us guidance as to how to work between us for the Creator’s sake. This power awakens around the point in the heart, grows it, and allows it to act. Here we begin to discover that reality is not what it previously seemed to be. In fact, it is governed by a single force that fills and arranges everything. It always arranged everything, but now it is beginning to be revealed.
Through our desire and efforts to connect, we can invite the Creator to reveal Himself and correct us. In fact, this is the only thing we can do. After all, the first basic act of bestowal is revealed within the connection, and only within the connection does it begin to grow and strengthen. Therefore, we see in the Torah that immediately after the exodus from Egypt, the formation of the nation began by assembling people into tens, hundreds, and thousands.
The desirable state is the revelation of the upper force that gives us the desire to bestow above the desire to receive. We then truly aspire to bestow in order to bring joy and contentment to the Creator, which is our only reward.1
A person who does the right work is always happy, primarily because in any state he has a correct connection with the Creator. In any ascent or descent, he is under governance of the Creator and by being aware of it he already brings contentment to the Creator and thus rejoices.
He feels that he receives strength to always be concerned about the Creator and to bring Him contentment without any self-compensation, that is, to perform pure bestowal. This is an effect of the Light; this is how the Light of faith works.2
At the spiritual degree, a person receives Light that disconnects him from egoism and he begins to consider his desire to enjoy only as means for performing acts of bestowal. Therefore, he does not take himself into account, meaning what he has and what he does not have. On the contrary, he wants to have nothing, no reward at all! This is his primary concern. “Taste and see that the Lord is good.”3
I want all the results of my work to be only in the Creator, and I myself will receive nothing for it, except strength for the work, as if I am filled with fuel like a car. All hundred percent of my work will be for the Creator’s benefit to such an extent that He will not even know about my existence, as if I am an absolute zero.
A car does not know where it is going, it is under the complete control of its owner. I want to be under such control of the upper one. Let the owner fill me with fuel and use me completely. I want to be totally devoted to Him. This is called a loyal servant.4
The Creator likes when we prepare a vessel where He can be revealed. This is exactly what we want to do at the upcoming convention in Italy. We have to create a place for the revelation of the Creator. Even if we do not feel how we create this place, it will exist. Perhaps its intensity will not be enough for the revelation of the Creator toward us, because we are very crude, but nevertheless this place will be already founded.
Now we are beginning to create the structure of Adam HaRishon at the state of final correction. This is the very beginning, we are laying a foundation of this structure of the common soul of Adam in its completely corrected form. This is extremely important work.
Therefore, we need to do everything in our power, and the Creator will finish it for us. The most important thing is to do it and the result is determined from above.
I really hope that we will be able to build the place for revelation of the Creator and for bringing Him contentment.5
If I try to do my work correctly then at every moment I bring contentment to the Creator, even if this is not yet apparent to me. Therefore, I rejoice. After all, I know that the Creator is taking care of me: There is no doubt that I received life and development from Him, “There is none else besides Him.” Therefore, everything depends only on my attitude. I do not place conditions before the Creator that He will reveal Himself no matter what, but I just want to perform acts of bestowal.6
Construction starts from digging a pit and casting a foundation. Likewise, we lay a foundation for the common corrected soul of Adam HaRishon. For this we need to dig into the ground, and this is hard, dirty work. The one who does it sees nothing apart from excavation inside his egoism until he digs enough to lay a foundation for the building. Then perhaps he will gradually start to rise from the pit, above the foundation and erect the building itself.
To add levels is not a problem, someone can add them after us. What’s most important is to lay the first piles of the foundation, and we are very close to it.7

Connection Without Smartphones

laitman_623In the News (BBC): “An app that rewards students for time spent away from their phones is being released in the UK. …
“It has proved popular in Scandinavia, with more than 120,000 users across Norway, Denmark and Sweden. …
“Students will accumulate 10 points for every 20 minutes that they do not use their mobile phone between 07:00 and 23:00 every day of the week.
“Points can be exchanged for goods and services within the app’s marketplace, with brands such as Caffe Nero, Vue cinemas and Amazon signed up.
“To earn two free coffees, students will need 300 points, which equates to 10 hours on the Hold app. For free popcorn at the cinema, they will need to spend two hours to accrue 60 points.
“Students can also exchange their points for books and stationery which are donated to schools via Unicef.”
My Comment: I am not sure that smartphones will be around for too much longer. Why do we need useless conversations that come from our inner worries, from misunderstanding what is happening around us and in the world? And when a person finds an answer to this and starts to hold on to the essence of what is happening, one will not need small talk, uselessly filling the air.
Judging by the intensity with which smartphones are used today, I think this will subside soon. Desire will vanish.
Question: Does that mean that the desire for physical communication will reignite?
Answer: No, it will be on a different level—internal. Other desires will appear, different goals. People will try to find an inner layer of nature in their relationships. This layer will attract them, carry them away, fill them up. They will seek this.
Question: What layer is that?
Answer: Information about our world, but more profound, hidden within nature. This is information about what happens in nature itself manifests in each of us and in the connections between us. This source will be very interesting to us.
All the rest, what we are still looking for today, is only an unconscious connection with the same source. We do not need anything else. This is exactly what we always want to find.

New Life #1004 – The Right Approach To Life, Part 1

New Life #1004 – The Right Approach To Life, Part 1
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
Life is felt in the desire to receive pleasure that exists in everyone. This desire ruins our ability to perceive objective reality since “all who condemn do so through their own defect.” The wisdom of Kabbalah calls what exists prior to the person’s perception by the name of “Atzmuto” (“His Essence”), the primordial root. This primordial power is the Lightthat created and also influences the desire to receive. It projects a three-dimensional picture of the world within us that changes according to changes in our desires. To get the best picture of reality, we must understand the thought of the Light, which is to bestow to others. We must become more like the Light.

We “Outgrew” Clothes

273.02In the News (Bloomberg): “The Death of Clothing”
“The apparel industry has a big problem. At a time when the economy is growing, unemployment is low, wages are rebounding and consumers are eager to buy, Americans are spending less and less on clothing.
“The woes of retailers are often blamed on Amazon.com Inc. and its vise grip on e-commerce shoppers. Consumers glued to their phones would rather browse online instead of venturing out to their local malls, and that’s crushed sales and hastened the bankruptcies of brick-and-mortar stalwarts from American Apparel to Wet Seal. …
“Apparel has simply lost its appeal. And there doesn’t seem to be a savior in sight. As a result, more and more apparel companies—from big-name department stores to trendy online startups—are folding.”
My Comment: The point here is not at all in fashion and not in the fact that there is a large amount of affordable goods. It is just because our egoism, our desires, outgrew clothes. Today you are not judged by your appearance. People are looking for something internal, something more elevated. The superficial things are gradually receding and these changes come from within.
Over time, only the good, correct attitude of a person to others will be appreciated, when he understands that he exists in a uniform society where all people are united and equal for the attainment of the next degree of our development.

Discovering The Greatness Of The Creator

laitman_263There is nothing in reality other than the Creator and the created beings. Therefore, all the created beings need to do is discover the Creator. It is possible to discover Him only from feeling a deficiency for Him because we feel everything only in the measure of deficiency.
Initially we do not feel any deficiency for the Creator: we are in concealment. This is the entire difficulty because we want to work against the concealment of the Creator: wanting something we do not want and yearning for something we do not yearn for. Therefore, the entire work is in concealment. The Creator is hidden and His greatness is also hidden from us.
In fact, the Creator could easily reveal His greatness to the created beings. Then the created beings would understand that they are completely dependent on the upper one. In this case, all the created beings would obviously run to the Creator and be fully devoted to Him. After all, there is nothing more beneficial than connecting to the source of life.
However, the Creator wants the created beings to be devoted to Him not because they depend on Him, but because of their consciousness and awareness of His greatness and uniqueness. That is, they will adhere to Him not as the source of their existence, but due to His qualities of bestowal and love.
This is the only reason that the created beings want the Creator. There is a special condition here: the Creator is revealed only if the created being aspires to Him because of His greatness and uniqueness.
Initially this does not apply to a person in any way. He does not feel any need for these qualities, but gradually he begins to appreciate them as the most important ones. Thus, he begins to work with the soul’s devotion, where the fact that his corporeal life (and even his very existence) depends on the Creator is no longer important to him. He is ready to give all of it up in order to acquire the Creator’s qualities of bestowal and love.
This comes not due to any personal gain of the created being, but rather from his appreciation of the greatness and uniqueness of the Creator. In this intention to bestow to each other, the Creator and the created being rise above personal gain.
The Creator seemingly sends us problems of different intensities, from tiny things up to the greatest ones. The created being, however, needs to rise above all these problems in his attitude to the Creator in order to show that there is nothing personal in their relationship. Neither of them wants to receive any personal gain, comfort, or pleasant sensation from the other. All they receive from each other is an opportunity to prove that they are above personal egoistic filling in the heart and in the mind, and that they care only for the benefit of the other. That is, the created being acts for the benefit of the Creator and the Creator acts for the benefit of the created being so that eventually they come to complete, unconditional love, which definitely does not include any personal calculation.1
Due to the fact that we are constantly making efforts to connect with the friends, even artificially, and overcome the burdening of the heart, we are building ourselves. Although we do it all at the corporeal level in order to unite in the corporeal form, we receive a spiritual Kli in return that is not built from our efforts, from our earthly heart or mind.
This is how we rise. The corporeal heart and mind stay on the corporeal animalistic degree, and the efforts are just a preparation to receive a force of faith, within which we will be able to discover ourselves in one soul. This is a completely different feeling. After all, faith belongs to spirituality.
In spirituality, no one feels himself as existing separately, on his own, but only together. This is a new concept. This common “I” where all connect as one is called a man (Adam).2
We need to give a full measure of exertion against our egoistic desire. However, these exertions on their own do not build anything spiritual but only create conditions for receiving the spiritual vessel. The spiritual vessel is not built from our corporeal efforts, but these efforts are necessary in order to receive the quality of Bina—the soul—from above.3

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 12/3/17

laitman_533.02Question: By what means do we measure spiritual distances?
Answer: In the spiritual world, distances are measured by differences in characteristics.
Question: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, each one lives in his own small world, in his own personal reality. Is there some kind of common and united realty?
Answer: No, there is only the Creator. Through Him, we begin to perceive and understand our common Kli, our shared mutual connection, His revelation within us.
Question: If two systems come out from the Creator, both the evil and the good, why can I not see good and evil in a friend who is managed by the Creator 100 percent?
Answer: Both the friend and the entire world must be seen as the revelation of the Creator.
Question: How does one correctly understand people and have concern for them? Are we to write it all off to nature and the Creator in one person, or are we to see the control and action of the Creator through people on oneself?
Answer: See it as the activity of the Creator through people on me. I never see the revelation of the Creator in nature and in humanity. I see what is clearly presented to me.
Question: So, I don’t need to correct anything within me except my attitude toward others. Is my attitude toward others not within me?
Answer: Yes, but it is possible to correct this. I need to relate to others as I do to the Creator. When the entire world, except for me, is filled with the characteristic of bestowal and love, then I will be able to connect myself with this characteristic.
Question: We encounter the expression: “I am lovesick” (Song of Songs 2:5) in the wisdom of Kabbalah. What is this talking about?
Answer: That is what Malchut says in relation to Keter (the Creator) when she attains the characteristic of Bina on the way to the Creator. When Malchut attains Bina, she first acquires the full characteristic of bestowal, and after that, through her ascent from Bina to Keter, she acquires the characteristic of love as well.

New Life #986 – What Is Art?

New Life #986 – What Is Art?

Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
Art comes from the person’s urge to express himself and resemble the Creator. The Creator has no form. It is the force of bestowal and renewal. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, true art expands our horizons and rises above all limits. It provides a new perspective on the world, which can only be achieved through the power of faith. The secret of creativity is attained when we connect with the upper force and build forms of bestowal for everyone.

Fashion/Retail Industry

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 6/5/18
Buying clothes used to be a ritual. You go to the mall with friends, spend most of the time window shopping, try something on and debate whether it is the right one, stop for a cup of coffee, and perhaps buy some clothes on the way too.
Much more than matching a garment to a physique, it was about the social ritual and the fulfillment of an emotional need.
However, tech giants such as Amazon and Alibaba have sent their long virtual tentacles to revolutionize shopping for clothes as we know it, turning it into another swiping experience. Today, you just have to snap your fingers and the clothes of your choice, at the right size and color, are already making their way to your house.
By the end of last year, more than 1,875 fashion stores in the U.S. had announced closure, and about 10,000 more stores are projected to close this year – 53% more than the number of closures during the financial crisis of 2008.
And yet, the evolution of shopping is only a superficial layer of what is happening. We, as human beings, are evolving as well.
At the core of our evolution is the engine of human desire, which drives all our choices and preferences, including what clothes we wear. In general, we can divide all our desires to two groups: bodily desires such as food, sex, and shelter, and social desires, such as status, honor and power.
So what is the nature of our desire for clothing and fashion and how is it evolving?
On the one hand, clothing belongs to our bodily desires: we need clothes to keep our bodies warm and comfortable, for which our pajamas actually do a great service. But at the same time, our clothes are also our social calling card: There were times when only kings could have custom-tailored clothes, times when grandkids inherited their grandparents’ clothes, and don’t forget professional dress codes which stayed with us to this day.
Fashion transforms and adapts itself according to the evolution of human desire, and so it reflects the desires of society as a whole. And where is our desire headed these days? It is looking for a more inner fulfillment.
That is why it is becoming increasingly challenging for advertisers to sell us the illusion of unattainable beauty. They invest billions trying to market the idea that you are a class B member of society if you haven’t purchased the latest coveted brand. But this is beginning not to work as they are losing their grip on our desire.
Many millennials, for instance, are not buying into the story anymore. They prefer to wear something plain and comfy, reject labels and brands, and mostly want their apparel to be affordable. Likewise, the aspiration to wear expensive clothes from prestigious brands is fading all over the world.
Our desire is developing to a qualitatively new level. The fulfillment we look for is less apparent and more internal, less material and more spiritual. The younger generation may not know exactly what they’re looking for, but they’re beginning to sense that it’s not in their external appearance.
Driven by the qualitative development of human desire, new social norms and values are gradually forming. What used to be respected and prestigious yesterday is losing its value today. Thus, fashion as we know it today will eventually disappear. We will no longer strain ourselves to wear clothes that prioritize social acceptance over convenience. We will gradually find that our hearts are the center of attention, and that will become the new global fashion.

Society of Equal People

Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation: Israel must be the first among the nations to assume the international, altruistic communism. It must be a model demonstrating the good and beauty of this government. Because they suffer and will suffer from the tyranny of the nations more than all other nations, they are like the heart that burns before all the other organs. Hence, they are better suited to adopt the proper government first.
Baal HaSulam talks about creating a society of absolutely equal people united in one common family that exists in a state of complete mutual guarantee. This is an ideal socialist system working by the principle of “work according to one’s ability and receive according to one’s needs.”
In an altruistic society, no one will take more than he needs. At first, he will not get extra, and then he will stop taking surplus.
People will think only about the consent between all members of society and connection in such a system of interaction in which a single force—one equal, homogeneous field that will fill the entire space between them—will be revealed. This field will be revealed between them not as their derivative, but as their initial force called the Creator.
Question: Is this the ideal perception of a future person because his primordial nature is egoistic?
Answer: The method of Kabbalah is based on the correct application of egoism. It is due to mutual rejection, hatred, and other negative qualities that exist in everyone in relation to others, which we can use to restore the opposite, positive properties above them.

How Many Forces Exist In Nature?

Laitman_632_3Question: Is it possible to single out other forces in the one higher power of nature?
Answer: No. There is only one power of the Creator/nature, which manages everything in a single system with a single force of bestowal. The whole of creation is based on the opposite power. The goal is to manage it, change its direction, and join the Creator by correcting it.
Question: But the power of creation is also a power. Does it mean there are already two?
Answer: No. The fact is that we cannot simply divide it.
We need to understand whether egoism really exists. It seems that it does. But what for? It exists to give us the opportunity to acquire the opposite property of bestowal, love, and altruism. When we reach it, we find that egoism has never existed, it only seemed to us that it existed in order to rise to the property of bestowal and love.
But these are all empty words until the person himself will experience it.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 11/26/17

laitman_571.08Question: What principles will determine the success of realizing my point in the heart?
Answer: There is only one principle: through the group to the Creator. You can use all other Kabbalistic principles only to the extent that you will climb the spiritual steps. Then you will see how they can apply to you.
Question: According to the law the “general and particular are equal,” are all the Kabbalistic principles universal for all the levels of the worlds?
Answer: Yes, because the difference between the levels is only according to the intensity of and connection between the forces of bestowal and reception.
Question: What is work according to the wisdom of Kabbalah? Who is the employer, who is the employee, and what is the essence of the work?
Answer: Work in Kabbalah is the work on my egoism, on its correction. The Creator, the upper Light, is what corrects egoism. A person is called “a worker” because he asks for this correction from the Creator. Only according to a request, a prayer, raising MAN, does the Light, which corrects an egoistic intention to an altruistic intention, descend from above.
Question: What is the correct relationship with the environment?
Answer: By “environment,” we mean the group through which we attain connection with the Creator. The correct relationship with the environment is the same relationship that must exist between the person and the Creator.
Question: What does manipulation of the ego mean?
Answer: Manipulation of the ego does not mean manipulating the ego itself, but the intention above it. In other words, I use the ego only to the degree that I have an intention to use it for the sake of bestowal, for the creation of a connection.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 12/17/17

laitman_623Question: If one day goes by without the wisdom of Kabbalah, I feel miserable. Why does Kabbalah have an influence on me like a drug that provides happiness?
Answer: This is because otherwise you would not be connected to a system that can fulfill you.
Question: If the world is perfect, and I am intentionally faulty, then quarrels and confrontations are unavoidable. So how do I balance the good with the bad within me like “plus” and “minus”?
Answer: In any case you should not condemn the good or the bad or elevate this or that, rather only try to achieve their mutual connection, adhesion, and completion. Perfection is found between us, in the middle line.
Question: In our world, are people who are altruistic egoists happier than people who are just egoists?
Answer: Egoistic altruists are still less limited. But to be an altruist in our world, one must be born like this or enter a society like that where they “brainwash” you, and then you will be able to become an altruist and enjoy it. But this is already a particular kind of persuasion, and not a person’s inner inspiration.
Question: What does it mean to acquire the characteristic of bestowal? Explain it regarding feelings as much as possible.
Answer: Ask a mother who is concerned about her baby how she is happy to give him something, to do something for him. See how she takes care of him, follows him, and constantly wants to touch him, to improve something. This is the beastly characteristic of bestowal that shows us that it is possible on the physical level. It is partial and temporary, but it is possible.
Question: What are your wishes for students?
Answer: You have to rush to and resolve everything in the middle line: issues at home, topics in the group, and even in the kitchen, at work, in your attitude to life, and most importantly—the relations between us. Do everything in the middle line—there is no bad and there is no good—there is only everything for the benefit of spiritual progress.

What Is Our “I”?

laitman_537Question: What is a person’s “I” that is aware of his or her existence?
Answer: It’s just a little egoism. By changing it, we will feel not only the property of reception in it, but also the property of bestowal. In the egoism corrected to bestow, we begin to sense what really exists outside of us.
Now we feel and analyze only what enters into our senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. If we had additional sense organs, we would feel much more, not as it enters and adapts in us, but as it exists outside of us, objectively. This is called spiritual perception.

New Life #1001 – New Life For The Nation Of Israel

New Life #1001 – New Life For The Nation Of Israel
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
Life teaches us that the nation of Israel is unique. Anti-Semitism is returning and is obligating Israelis to do some soul-searching. We need to search for the root causes of domestic division and external hatred. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we must recognize our egoistic nature and draw special forces from nature that will connect us according to the principles “Love your friend as yourself” and “Love covers all transgressions.” We must lead the world by teaching this method of love through the power of the Creator.

Are We Responsible For Our Own Thoughts?

Laitman_143Question: Is a person responsible for his thoughts?
Answer: If before himself and the Creator, then yes. If before the rest of humanity, then no, because until thoughts turn into actions, we do not have problems with other people. But in principle, our thoughts are our actions.
Questions: And what if a person is horrified by his thoughts?
Answer: That is not important; they are his thoughts and he must correct them.

New Life #993 – Memory From Childhood To Old Age
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
The collective memory exists within the higher system of nature and is available to us if we connect our memories with others. We do not remember the first years of our lives because we did not yet interact with the environment. We have memory problems in old age because the desire to receive is saturated. Kabbalists don’t forget or experience death because they constantly become renewed.

New Life #992 – The Infinite Human Memory

New Life #992 – The Infinite Human Memory
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
The goal of our development is for all of us to discover the entire memory that activates us, which is the program of creation. We are within a sea of information and receive forms and images from it that we call memory. Each person is given an impression of that infinite information according to his inner characteristics, desires, and “reminiscences.” In our current state, each one wants to extract different data from the infinite but we need to connect everything into one complete form. By doing this, we will elevate ourselves to the level of the Maatzil (Emanator), the level of the general information, to life in the upper Light. On this high level each one “bites off” his own portion of the upper Light and connects with others. That is how the one great Light is felt.

The Unconscious Development of Humanity

Laitman_177.06Question: What is the cause of the unconscious development of humanity for tens of thousands of years?
Answer: It seems to us as if this is a very long period of time. The universe and inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature developed precisely in order to clarify the difference between light and darkness.
This took place initially at the lowest, inanimate level, in atoms and molecules, etc. Then, it continued on the vegetative and animate levels, in various biological and zoological components of nature. Afterward, it took place on the human level of our world, not only in physiology, but also in human psychology.
Only after that can a person come closer to being worthy of starting research on a spiritual level.

The Greatness Of The Creator

laitman_260The Creator is a force that fills and arranges everything we think, see, feel, and say. The created beings have nothing in and of themselves. The Creator created and developed the will to receive. He fulfills, guides, and operates it. Therefore, we perform no independent actions. They are all actions of the Creator. There is none else besides Him.
Yet, even though the Creator completely controls us and performs all actions through us, we were given a special opportunity to be independent. We can be called independent creatures to the extent that we become like the Creator, but this is true only for those unique individuals who acquire faith in the Creator: a sensation of the upper force.
These unique individuals act exactly the way the Creator wants them to, but by their own will. All other people act in the same manner as the rest of nature—intuitively, unconsciously, and under the Creator’s full control. They only consider themselves “free” due to their limited perception. However, when people discover the Creator and yearn to resemble Him completely, they then become exactly like Him, and yet they are independent and free.1
The Creator created the will to receive. He guides, develops, and organizes all of its actions. Indeed, this will to receive completely depends on the Light and intuitively performs all the actions that the Light dictates. We see that this is how inanimate objects, plants, animals, and even human beings behave.
The Creator, however, chooses some people and gives them an opportunity to acquire the Creator’s powers, to make actions on their own, but only in order to resemble Him. Then they become free. Depending on the degree to which the person has ascended, the Creator ceases to operate them (either partially or completely) because the person operates himself exactly in accordance with the Creator’s desire.2
The Creator fully governs all of nature on the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels. It is as if the human level does not exist. However, when a person becomes like the Creator and begins conducting himself like the Creator—when he learns this governance from the Creator and therefore is called “the wise disciple”—he ascends to the next degree and becomes “human” (“Adam“). This elevates him above the animate level, making him similar to the upper force and allowing him to attain the Creator.3
The sensation that the Creator dresses into a person—into all his desires, thoughts, actions, and impressions—is called the degree of obtaining faith. The person feels that the Creator governs the entire world by way of good that does good.
Faith above reason is the sensation of the Creator in all our organs, in our entire essence. A person must try to feel that the Creator governs him and the entire world by way of good that does good, despite the fact that the Creator spoils this sensation for him and shows him the complete opposite.4
The state of final correction is the complete dressing of the Creator into a person—when the upper force is felt in all our organs. We feel that the entire world is governed by the upper force and we have always performed and are performing actions of the Creator: first by coercion and then by our own will, with our consent. This is why we become devoted workers of the Creator, working out of love.5
A person’s work is to try resemble the Creator, as if He is dressed in us and He completely operates us. To the extent that we can imagine this state, we are inspired by it and turn the desired state into the existing one. The Creator has chosen us, and we are making steps toward Him. He loves us. He awakened us out of love, wanting us to resemble Him and to reach His state. We should not just imagine, but really feel how to do this.
We must try to establish such relationships between us, as if the Creator already dresses in us. Then we will feel how much our desired state fails to correspond to our existing state and we will raise a prayer (MAN) to the Creator, wanting to be in the Creator’s reality, not just in our imagination.
This is the person’s work: to force ourselves to imagine that the Creator is dressed in us and all our actions are defined by the sensation of the Creator in all our organs, in our relationships, and in our minds and hearts. However, since this is not yet our reality, but only imagination, egoism helps us understand the gap between the desired and the existing states, and we raise this gap to the Creator as a request for correction.
After all, in reality, we do not yet have faith, the sensation of the Creator, in all our organs because we have no spiritual organs to act as the connection between us where the Creator can dwell. Therefore, we turn to the Creator with the prayer to correct us and connect us in order for Him to be able to dress in us.6
The prayer includes two states: the existing state we see from our existing sensory organs and the desired state in which we imagine ourselves as if already connected with each other and that the Creator is revealed to us and dwells within us. The gap between these two states creates a great lack with which we turn to the Creator.7
The prayer must be built on the basis of the clarified gap between the desired state and the existing state. The prayer is not just a desire to eat a delicious apple. Through our efforts, we need to build the desired state within us, that is, to imagine the connection between us in order to reveal the Creator between us and to bring Him contentment.
Then we see that our current state is insufficient and inaccurate. The gap between the desired and the existing states becomes apparent to us and we raise it to the Creator. In answer to our prayer, we receive new desires, requirements that we did not have before and that we formed ourselves.
It is through them that we build our human degree, which we did not have before. From the Creator’s side, only inanimate, vegetative, and animate degrees are given. The human degree does not exist in matter, but only in thought and desire, and it is exactly what we are building now.
The degree of a person, Adam, is the inclination to get closer to the Creator. We need to envision it similarly to how we envision everything else we want in this world: I am in a certain state and want to change it to a better one—this is the desire of any living creature.8
