“Iran-Israel Clashes: Why the Enemies of Israel Give It No Respite”

The largest portal Breaking Israel News published my new article “Iran-Israel Clashes: Why the Enemies of Israel Give It No Respite

“If it is impossible to blow the shofar of redemption, the enemies of Israel, Amalek, Hitler, etc. will come and call us to redemption, they warn us and give us no respite.”
– Rav Abraham HaCohen Kook
After periods of Israel warring with all neighboring countries in its radius, its current enemy on duty, which warns and gives it no respite, is Iran.
Last week, the time came when years of muscle flexing between the two countries erupted in a few initial jabs. Hours after claiming Israel’s forces in the Golan Heights were targeted by Iranian rockets, Israel retaliated by firing dozens of missiles at Iranian positions in Syria. The short but fierce conflict raised fears that violence in the region might be escalating and heading toward a direct confrontation between the two enemies.
The Only Way to Protect the People of Israel
I am no expert on international conflict resolution. History, however, has taught me that Israel will always be in humanity’s sights, and it will not be allowed to rest, precisely because of the unique role the people of Israel have toward the world: to connect “as one man with one heart” and provide a positive example of connection to humanity, i.e. to be “a light unto nations.” Fulfilling this role is the remedy that can protect the people of Israel from trouble. Until we achieve a certain quality and quantity of positive connection above all our differences, we can expect tensions to continue rising.
Great Jewish leaders throughout the ages circulated this message however they could. Rabbi Kalman Kalonymus wrote in Maor va Shemesh (Light and Sun): “When there are love, unity, and friendship between each other in Israel, no calamity can come upon them.” Similarly, Rabbi Shmuel Bornsztain wrote in Shem mi Shmuel (A Name Out of Samuel): “When Israel are as one man with one heart, they are as a fortified wall against the forces of evil.” Likewise, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Arieh Altar, the ADMOR of Gur, stressed in Sefat Emet (True Tongue): “Israel’s unity induces great salvations and removes all the slanderers.”
Why the World Revolves Around Israel
The people of Israel act as a central junction in the human network. If we try to connect positively above our differences, we let nature’s positive connective force flow through us into the entire human network. As a result, people start changing, albeit unconsciously. Connection would become more valued, and as a byproduct, the attitude toward the people of Israel would become more positive. On the other hand, failure to invest in enhancing human connection invites the negative force to further fuel humanity’s subconscious, enabling the flames of hatred to rise higher and higher in our direction. Therefore, in the situation at hand with Iran, it is only a matter of time before the people of Israel will be judged as those to blame for the tension.
Israel Currently Working Against its Divine Mission
In periods when such tensions escalate to all-out war, the climax of fear momentarily connects us. We stop caring about our internal disputes and all focus on protecting ourselves from the external threat. However, such temporary connection has no lasting strength. That is, the moment the external threat goes away, we continue business-as-usual, and all our internal disputes again take center stage.
Therefore, while time is still tilted in our favor, we should concern ourselves with initiating our connection through positive incentives. The world is waiting for us to carry out our fateful mission: to infuse it with positive connection. The more we can inspire relations of care, kindness and love to each other above our divisive inclinations, the more we will pave the path for a key attitude shift to sweep over humanity. It is my hope that we will use our ambitious energy to enliven our connection and spread it to the world sooner rather than later, instead of waiting for turmoil and suffering to goad us from the other end of the spectrum.

Spiritual Attainment Of Women

Laitman_120Question: Men go through the reincarnation of souls. But what about women? Does a woman have an eternal soul or does it just extinguish and that’s it?
Answer: There is no difference between men and women. Moreover, if a woman is able to overcome her egoism and begin to connect with other women in mutual support, they can surpass men in their spiritual attainment.
I would say that the Creator loves women more than men.

Recognized Harm In Facebook

laitman_959Remark: Facebook recognizes its influence. This social network no longer denies that it can cause people to become dependent on it and spread false information. On its official blog, the company representatives confirmed that social networks directly affect democracy, and not in the best way.
My Comment: There is nothing to be done about it. They will continue to do it in every possible way. It is a very profitable business, which provides the most powerful way to influence the world.
Specialists in social technologies, in fact, program a person, determine his way of thinking, his feelings and views. It is impossible to resist them because we see only the tip of the iceberg.
While we do not want to be guided by the upper management, the program of our internal development, our own domestic “fate programmers” will cause us trouble again and again. Under their “keen guidance,” egoism will take power over all spheres of life and turn people into a herd. It already does.
There is only one solution: realizing the evil that lies within our nature. Then, we will “expose” ourselves to a different program that develops us, rather than “trains” us. In direct communication, with the help of Kabbalah, a person will discover a system of relationships that elevates him vertically upward into the upper world, above the surface of this network that will choke him to the last.

New Life #980 – By Virtue Of Righteous Women

New Life #980 – By Virtue Of Righteous Women
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
A righteous woman is a desire to receive that wants to benefit everyone, and through them, the Creator. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there are no men and women but one human figure with a masculine part called the intention, and a feminine part called the desire. Each spiritual or corrected action has both a masculine and a feminine part. The feminine characters portrayed in the Torah are different intentions that are revealed in our spiritual development. We develop spiritually from Egypt where all desires are for self-pleasure to the kingdom or Nukva where the desires are corrected by ascending to Bina, which is a force of bestowal.

In Support Of Artificial Intelligence

laitman_600.02Question: How do Kabbalists feel about science and technology?
Answer: Kabbalists view science and technology, and anything that progresses the world, favorably, so that people see as quickly as possible that it all gives us nothing.
Question: In other words, are you in support of robots and artificial intelligence?
Answer: Yes, let everything around us be artificial: doctors, lawyers, etc. This is exactly what will help people understand where their true purpose lies, what they must actually be doing in this world.

Do Not Let Intelligence Surpass Action

laitman_219.03Question: It is written: “His wisdom is greater than his strength.” What does it mean?
Answer: According to Kabbalah, it is very bad when intelligence, wisdom, surpasses action. Because first of all, I need to lower my head and receive higher knowledge. And when I adapt this knowledge to myself, I must then work with it within the group.
During the process of working with it, it becomes clear to me what all these actions are for, and only then do I begin to use them as my own thoughts, my own methods.
Question: “We shall do and we shall hear” also applies here?
Answer: Yes. First the action must be carried out because only this attracts the upper Light, and within this Light, we will begin to understand everything.

What Determines The Level Of A Soul?

laitman_267.02Question: Regarding the development of a soul, is it a development of the desire to receive the Light of the Creator?
Answer: Yes. The Creator only gives. We can only receive. Receiving for the sake of bestowal, we turn reception into giving. This is why a quality of reception with the intention to bestow is called a “soul.”
Question: What determines the level of the soul?
Answer: There are five spiritual worlds—Assiya, Yetzira, Beria, Atzilut, and Adam Kadmon—after which comes a world of Infinity. Each one has 25 levels of attainment in it, so there are 125 levels in total.

They come from the integration of Light and desire; therefore, we simply state this fact.
The level of the soul is determined by the number, that is, the strength of my desire from 0 to 125.
The strength of the desire is determined by where I am. If I am able to bring the right intention to my desire, then the Light of the Creator enters it, and all three components—the Light that fills me, my intention, and my desire—will be called a “soul.”
Question: What kinds of souls are there, for it says that there are still, vegetative, and animate levels?
Answer: They are simply gradations that have no relevance for us. You should not think that there is an animal soul in an animal, a human soul in a person, and an inanimate soul in a rock. It means that each desire contains five components: still, vegetative, animate, speaking, and universal.
Based on that, we say, “His soul has settled into an animal or a plant.” They are nothing other than levels of desire. Just as I have a desire to consume, let’s say, 100 grams of one thing and a kilogram of another, such is the difference between the animate desire and the speaking one. These are simply token names having no connection with our world.
Indeed, everything is accurately regulated, spelled out, and quantitatively divided according to levels of energies, strengths.

New Life #979 – How To Give And Receive

New Life #979 – How To Give And Receive
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
True giving and receiving is based on the intention to benefit others. The giver should make sure that the recipient will enjoy without any negative feelings like shame, and the recipient should have the attitude of doing a favor to the giver by receiving from him. This can only happen when we rise above all self-concern and connect to a higher force.

Paradise Without Men

Laitman_036In the News (The Points Guy): “When Kristina Roth isn’t busy catching flights, she somehow manages to head up an all-female island.
“That’s right, an island for women only.
“Roth is the founder of SuperShe Island, a health-focused luxury destination off of Finland that’s exclusive to women. …
“For Roth, the island is solely for encouraging women to build themselves up to be confident enough to do whatever they want in life. Her ultimate goal is to gather women from around the world to come together to relax and grow. But don’t assume Roth hates men — she doesn’t. As she puts it, being on vacation with men can sometimes be a distraction for women—‘whether it’s to put on a swipe of lipstick or grab for a cover-up.’
“According to Roth, women tend to be sidetracked by the presence of men and therefore she wanted to give woman another option in focusing on and reinventing themselves.”
Question: Is a woman’s paradise without men possible?
Answer: In principle, women in our time can independently provide themselves with everything necessary. Therefore, the question is really different: is there an inner psychological and spiritual need for the relationship between women and men?
We follow our desires forgetting that we live in the vast system of interaction. It is no coincidence that nature created us this way. At the beginning of evolution, the first primitive organisms were unisexual.
Then there was a division into two parts, and these parts, precisely on reciprocity and oppositeness, complement each other at all levels and in all aspects: physiological, physical, moral, and spiritual. Together they reveal the upper force between them.
Speaking in the language of Kabbalah, in the correct conjugation between the quality of bestowal and the quality of reception, a birth of spiritual progeny takes place—or revelation of the Creator.

Eurovision

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 5/14/18
“Thank you so much for accepting differences between us, thank you for celebrating diversity,” were the words of Israel’s new source of pride, Netta Barzilai נטע ברזילי, upon her victory in this year’s Eurovision.
However, I believe that next year’s event holds a much greater opportunity for this message to become reality.
As Netta’s victory positions Jerusalem as the contest’s next venue, it creates a perfect setting for Israel to display the true treasure the world expects to receive from it: the gift of unity and human connection above all differences.
Imagine next year’s Eurovision as an event whose theme is global unity and common humanity. An event that goes beyond a musical contest, to demonstrate and celebrate our natural connection as human beings. Specifically in a place like Jerusalem, which symbolizes great division and conflict, such an event would have an incredibly positive impact.
But the physical place would not be the only reason for it. The true birth story of the people of Israel is, in fact, rooted in global unity. 3,800 years ago, representatives from all the various groups, tribes, and clans living in ancient Babylon decided to come together under the principle of unity above differences. They developed a way of life where they continually make an effort to rise above their egoistic differences and celebrate the natural connection that binds all human beings together.
In other words, the original grouping of people called “Israel” was a mini-model of global unity.
Today, there is a deep-seated demand in the heart of humanity that the people of Israel will rediscover their vocation. This is why many people feel an unexplained sentiment towards the Jewish people, which sometimes comes out in very negative ways.
If we manage to catch the hint from Netta’s success and turn the euphoric sense of joy into positive action, showing the key to the unity of humanity, then, regardless of who creates the best musical performance, the entire world will win the next Eurovision.

The Society Into The Whole World Will Flow Into

laitman_265“It will have all the forms of the government of a state. In this manner, even if the framework of this institution will contain the entire world, and the brute-force government will be revoked, nothing will need to be changed, in both government and work.”—Baal HaSulam, “The Last Generation
An altruistic organization develops by testing all sorts of methods, gradually exploring how to operate more correctly. It does not matter whether it includes ten people or ten thousand. In both cases, such a society is united as one organism.
The quantity does not become quality, and vice versa—the ten is always a ten. Moreover, if there are ten thousand around this ten, they are still considered the same ten.
Therefore, if ten people in attainment of the upper world accept society’s management upon themselves, all the others can slowly come and join this small organization, obeying its laws.
This is a gradually accumulative process that will lead to “the whole world will flow into its framework and the power of the brutal force will disappear completely.”
Question: Baal HaSulam writes, “nothing will need to be changed, in both government and work.” Does that mean that the form of management will remain unchanged?
Answer: If all systems are in absolute agreement with each other, and the general system consisting of them is similar to the ten Sefirot that constantly retain the basic laws; systems do not change. Quantity does not become quality—just the small systems connecting to the general one acquire the same quality.
Question: Does this mean that the system will work on the same principle, only the quantitative changes will happen around it?
Answer: There will be no quantitative changes. Even if ten thousand people work in the organization, they will not feel that there are ten thousand of them, because the unification absorbs everything.
Question: Will the small altruistic organization change after the ten starts to change?
Answer: No, it will only expand, reveal, explain, and promote its activities.

Physical Body And Soul

laitman_626Question: Is the human physical body part of creation?
Answer: The physical body is not a part of creation and has nothing to do with the soul. You can do anything with your body, but the soul develops according to its own specific laws.
Question: What does it mean when it is written that the sparks of the soul fell into this world and dressed in bodies?
Answer: This world only means egoism. Therefore, the sparks of the soul fell not into this world and not into the bodies, but into egoism.
Our body and what we observe, see, and perceive with our five corporeal senses belongs to the animate level. Kabbalah says nothing about the animate level.

How To Get Rid Of Fears In Life?

laitman_565.01Question: How can one get rid of fears in life? I have been looking for the truth for a long time, I understand a lot, but I cannot get rid of my fears.
Answer: We need fears. They always push us forward. Therefore, you need to change egoistic fears to altruistic ones, to fear separation from the Creator, failing to achieve the goal and positive connection with people.
If you shift your fears to the arena of bestowal and love, you will lose the fear of getting hurt or that someone can harm you. Work toward the positive, outside of yourself, outwardly, toward people, and then nothing negative will be come from people toward you.

Springboard For Disinterested Bestowal

laitman_260What’s most important is to feel the need for the Creator’s help. We are born completely disconnected from the upper force, like animals, and feel no need for the Creator. He is not included in any of our egoistic desires. In our entire existence in this world, we do not find any need for the Creator.
We try to build the whole world, all of its system, the family, society and the environment, only through the power of our egoism. We try to conquer nature in order to make ourselves comfortable and to put everything to our service.
This is the way we develop. Our egoism pushes us in the completely opposite direction from the Creator. If we do need the Creator, it is only to take advantage of Him. People have always tried to enlist the support of nature’s forces, such as the sun and the moon. If there is an even higher power, then it would be good to put it to our service, for our benefit.
However, when we talk about needing the Creator’s help, it means something quite different. It is not that the Creator comes and provides us with pleasant egoistic fillings, good sensations, and comfortable lives. All supposed “spiritual” practices that provide a person with the feeling that he is separated from taking care of himself are also aimed at making one feel better and more comfortable, free from the burden of egoistic experiences. This is only a more cunning way of egoistically using all of nature’s forces, as if also including the upper force.
The wisdom of Kabbalah is unique in that it requires a special amount of patience from a person in anticipation of the Creator’s help. You need to be patient and try to see the Creator’s work on you, listening attentively to your inner voice. This is how a person will gradually begin to discover that he constantly thinks about himself: that he lacks fulfillment, comprehension, and success. Where is the promised Creator who should fulfill me?
These are the natural requirements that appear in us all. We have to pass these stages on the way to the true correction. The Creator Himself awakens these questions and claims in us until we become tired of thinking about ourselves. We will despair from the impossibility of realizing our egoistic plans and will begin to hope that we will receive the fulfillment if we direct our thoughts in the opposite direction, in the only possible direction—to the Creator.
It is still an egoistic intention, but we already begin to discover that fulfillment can come only from caring about the neighbor, about the friends. This is bestowal for the sake of reception, but it is still great progress toward spirituality.
Desperate to fill ourselves with our own knowledge, achievements, sensations, thoughts, “me, me, me!,” we begin to feel that there is an opportunity to fill ourselves if we think about the friends or the Creator. If there is no fulfillment in receiving, can it be in bestowal, caring for the neighbor? This is egoistic bestowal, but I still partially exit myself and begin being included in others. In any case, I think about what they need in order to give to them and fill myself in this mode.
Here, a new attitude and work is born: everyone cares for others, seeing that this is the only way to fill themselves. Subconsciously, we still think about ourselves, but we already understand that without the friends, we will not be fulfilled. Also, we no longer try to use others directly for our own benefit. Instead, we use them indirectly, trying to do good to them because bestowal makes us content. We see that this is our only chance for success. If instead of receiving, I bestow and take care of others all the time, then I will be fulfilled with this concern. This is called “bestowal for the sake of receiving.”
My salvation from my own problems is in the thoughts about the Creator: they disconnect me from constant anxiety about myself, inner emptiness, helplessness, and doubt. This is how we start feeling the opportunity to rise by faith above reason and reach bestowal. Even if I still bestow for my own sake, it is already a springboard to pure bestowal.
Many lack patience and do not wait until the Creator takes care of them, bringing them to this type of bestowal, that is, for the sake of receiving a fulfillment. We should understand that this type of bestowal differs from the corporeal world’s egoistic bestowal, whereas the latter cannot be called bestowal at all, because it still comes from the desire to receive more although via an alternate route.
Here, we move to bestowal for the sake of receiving after a great disappointment, having made sure that it is impossible to be fulfilled by means of receiving. Therefore, we want to get rid of these desires, to put an end to this approach to life.1

If I Am Not For Me, Who Is For Me?

281.01Question: What is the meaning of the Kabbalistic principle: “If I am not for me, who is for me?” It seems to be so corporeal…
Answer: A person is an egoist. There is only the ego at work inside of us, it first pushes us to do everything for ourselves. And then that same egoism, realizing that its best application is in bestowing to others, leads us to do everything for the sake of others.
It follows, in any case: “If not me, then who?” How else can I be connected to everyone else in order to give, to work for their benefit, if not through my egoism? Nothing new happens, only the technique of applying the ego changes.
Moreover, the work for others is not done for the sake of an individual, but for the sake of the whole system; when I understand that it is universal, I begin to involve myself in it, and therefore my present and my future depends only on the extent of my involvement in this system.
Here everything happens differently than in our world where we preach: “Let’s live together and put everything into a common pot,” while each one thinks of how to snatch from it and whatever comes out of it is of little consequence. By studying Kabbalah, we reveal the system of nature and understand that we exist in it completely, integrally interconnected.
Therefore, by giving to the universal system, I give to myself and do so in the best possible way, eternally and perfectly. If I seemingly take something for myself, it goes against the system and I see that I cause damage to myself. It follows that egoism works in both directions: good and bad.
“If I am not for me, who is for me?” is the healthiest attitude because a person knows that he is supposed to do and earn something. The question is only in how to use one’s egoism. That is why Kabbalah, in Hebrew, means “the science of reception.” It explains how to receive all the good, righteous, eternity, and perfection that is in the world.
Question: How do we combine the approaches: “If I am not for me, who is for me?” and “There is none else besides Him”? Do we act on it consecutively or concurrently?
Answer: We have to act simultaneously because we are all in one system in which the Creator is activated by the request of a person, and the person is activated by the Creator. It follows that we are partners, but from different sides of creation: we are from the bottom, and the Creator is from the top. The system of connections between us is called the “worlds.”

What Happens Upon Crossing The Machsom?

laitman_624.04Question: What happens to a person when crossing the Machsom?
Answer: A person dissolves in others. He remains in the physical body, but leaves the inner egoistic essence, and begins to grow in the spiritual essence.
Question: Does he lose fear for himself?
Answer: Fear appears at the descent and disappears as one ascends because a person again adheres to the Creator. This happens time after time. The state of disconnection from the Creator is called a descent, and the state of adhesion with the Creator is called an ascent.

What Does One’s Lifespan Depend On?

laitman_600.04Question: What determines the life expectancy of different people?
Answer: Does it really matter? Is it really a gift to live long?
It’s worth living, while you can solve the serious problems for which life is given. And as soon as this possibility runs out and you exist only to serve your animal body, then it is no longer worth living. But we do not dispose of it; therefore, it is forbidden to reduce life expectancy in any possible way.

The Higher The Ascent, The Less Discomfort

laitman_233Question: Is the birth of the soul accompanied by physical discomfort?
Answer: Physically, a person goes through many states. But, the further you advance, there is less discomfort because you begin to understand it, get used to it, and even guess, based on your experience, what actions will be done to you.
Therefore, you calmly go ahead, knowing that there will be a descent again. The light “goes off,” you fall through all the steps of the ascent, like in an elevator flying down, and then gradually come to your senses.
First, you do not understand where you are and what you are, as all connections break off, and the feeling of the upper world disappears. You remain only in the perception of this world, not really understanding what is happening here, what kind of people are surrounding you, and what they are doing here.
Then, you begin climbing up again through an even bigger connection with the group, but the extreme states are amazing.
In fact, there is nothing scary about it. On the contrary, you feel the tremendous power of life, the world, nature, the Creator, and you, yourself, are in it as an accomplice.
You simultaneously look with regret at how people are living in this world because they have a great opportunity to fill themselves with the whole creation from beginning to end, and they are busy with something petty, insignificant, and languish in this way. We must do everything to help them. By helping them, you help yourself, and vice versa.

Summary
How does mutual fulfillment between spouses achieve perfection?
First we talk about free choice, a person’s influence on the environment and environment’s influence on the person, and the ego that constantly drives humanity, including the couple. New Life #988 – The New Rationality, Part 1

New Life #988 – The New Rationality, Part 1
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
All creatures are rational except for humans. Animals act according to instincts and never make mistakes. Humans lack balance between intellect and emotion and their power of imagination leads to even more confusion. Despite having the capacity to supply everyone with nourishment, clothing, and health, we struggle with one another and sacrifice our lives for abstract ideas. We need to create a new approach to reality based on the desire to give. This new rationale will help us to discover that reality is one whole connected soul system and everyone will find their place within it.

One HaVaYaH

laitman_269The Creator created one HaVaYaH system and then He broke it in order to give the created beings an opportunity to come closer to Him, and it was divided into many individual systems. After all, in order to attain the essence of the Creator, His qualities, character, behavior, bestowal, and His attitude to us, we must gradually reveal Him from the easier things to more and more complex ones.
The first HaVaYaH is just a point and then it grows: Ibur, Yenika, and Mochin. This is the end of the realization of the first HaVaYaH, and then the second one starts, which means that the first HaVaYaH is doubled so that we could feel the Creator better. There is already a need for mutual connection between the Creator and the created being: the whole system begins to grow from the drop of semen.
The Creator always conceals Himself and burdens our heart, and we must overcome this and discover that the Creator is behind everything. Each time those individual HaVaYaHsystems (tens) connect more and more and gather into one single HaVaYaH.
The universe was born from a single spark in the Big Bang, and expanded from there in every direction. Now, pieces of this HaVaYaH return from all these directions and re-connect together. In fact, this separation exists only in relation to us, and we learn how to connect the infinite number of parts into one principle, “There is none else besides Him.”
We see that the more our world advances, the more all its systems, manufacturing, and sciences become connected. The wisdom of Kabbalah clearly reveals all the evidence that nothing else exists other than one HaVaYaH.
It is as if in this world we abstract from matter and its behavior at different levels that are studied by physics, chemistry, biology, zoology and consider only the laws themselves, then we have mathematics that describe formulas of relations between all parts, all desires.
No matter at what level these parts connect—at the inanimate, vegetative, animate, or even the speaking level, in the mind and in the heart—the same formulas operate everywhere. And therefore, after many searches we begin to see how it all gathers into one ten.
We need to think about it even now and try to treat the entire creation as one ten. For the Creator there is no difference between far and near—for Him everyone is equal and all connect into one whole. We also need to try and relate to the created being in the same way, to become more sensitive to the friends who are far, who are not in the same room, country, or continent.
They are all included in the vessel of the soul. For me all the points in the heart that the Creator chose and pulls to Himself are inseparable from myself like my own soul, or even more important. In this way all will unite into one ten. 1
The correction happens from light to heavy, therefore the lightest desires are selected first: 2,000 years + 2,000 years + 2,000 years (HBD – HGT – NHY). The first generations relatively easily attained the Torah and corrections because they were less egoistic and did not require many years of hard work for this.
However, it is we, the most egoistic ones who reveal the greatest Light, although it manifests in their light desires. Then all this gets rounded into one ten, but for now we do the work and are in the darkness, and the Light is manifested in the Kelim (vessels) of the forefathers.
We are called “the last generation” for a good reason. We indeed belong to the very last desires, coarsest and heaviest desires included in correction. However, we need to be proud that we were given an opportunity to draw the greatest Light to the Kelim of the forefathers.
We need to understand that we are doing a great job, even though it seems minuscule to us, and through this we draw the great Light, which is absolutely invisible to us, because it is revealed in the Kelim above us. Where can we get motivation for the work if we do not have connection with the degree of forefathers where the Light is revealed through our efforts?
This is a problem, and therefore, we just need to continue “as an ox to the burden and as a donkey to the load” until everything connects into one ten, at least approximately, so that illumination from the upper degree will reach our lowest ten. This doesn’t happen all at once. There are ten Sefirot of the direct Light, ten Sefirot of the reflected Light, and in each Sefira there are ten Sefirot horizontally, and so on.
It will take a very long time until all these Sefirot spread from above downward and through them, corrected before us, the weakest Light of Nefesh will flow to us. It was much easier to reach spirituality in their time. Therefore they are called fathers, and we are called sons, the last generation. 2
The Tragedy in the Arava Desert
Everyone should try to see and feel that this loss happened in your own family, to your child. Then we will understand how far we are from being connected. After all, when we found out about the tragedy we were upset and worried, but we nevertheless went to sleep and had breakfast in the morning as usual. This is not at all the grief that has now befallen the families of the teenagers who lost their lives. But why don’t we feel exactly the same way? We are not connected enough, because, in fact, everyone should feel such grief as if he lost his own child.
All the tragedies in the world happen because the Creator needs to be revealed when the time has come for this, but we do not reveal Him. This is the suffering.3
