Grow A Human Out Of Oneself

laitman_942Question: If I try to pretend that I see the upper force behind all objects, do I still need to ask myself, “Why do I want to reveal it?”
Answer: Naturally! You grow a man out of yourself! What for, why, how? You do not do it in order to spend a nice evening, to enjoy something, and after that, it does not matter because the main thing is to feel good now. Not at all!
Kabbalah discovers where the truth is. For its sake, I am ready to sacrifice my present pleasure at every minute and go against it. This is my struggle.
I always weigh what is more important to me: truth or pleasure? And then, I set the screenover my desire and act in the name of bestowal. Working against pleasure, I suddenly begin to feel that there is 620 times more pleasure in bestowal than in reception.
Question: Does a person have the ability to control his desires, to make such calculations?
Answer: Everything is done by the upper Light! We do not need to be sophisticated. The only thing is not to be shy but to try to implement everything in the group correctly and consistently.
The group is the biggest obstacle. A person does not want to get close to others. He cannot imagine that this is what will give him such stunning results.
Of course, there are people who are ready to connect, but for them this is earthly connection. Spiritual connection is practically difficult for everyone.
Therefore, nothing is more, less, better, or worse. Everyone has to go through this stage where by clenching their teeth, they work in a group, try to get included in it, do something, and do not shy away from group activities. It is their effort in spite of their desire that gradually gives results.

Is There Disinterested Friendship?

laitman_962.2Question: Is there disinterested friendship? If yes, in what equality and dependency of attitudes?
Answer: There is nothing selfless in the corporeal world because everything is based on egoism; it is the basis of our nature. Therefore, there is no need to have our heads in the clouds.
Nature is entirely arranged only on the egoistic principle—the desire to enjoy. But the fact is that with the help of the upper Light, that is, the influence of the Creator, we can rise above our nature and begin to use it differently—for the benefit of others. We as if rise above the Earth, overcome its gravity, but only with the help of the upper Light.

Medium: “Why Do We Not Care About A Thousand Dead Indonesians?”

Medium published my new article “Why Do We Not Care About A Thousand Dead Indonesians?
Days after the deadly earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale struck the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia, and the huge tsunami destroyed large parts of it, the dimensions of the disaster are becoming increasingly clear. Roughly 1,300 people have been killed so far from this disaster, and the death toll could reach thousands.
It seems that the higher the death toll, the greater the indifference in the world. Just to refresh our memory, the earthquake that struck Indonesia in 2004 and the subsequent tsunamis took 230,000 victims. The entire world was mobilized for help, but the current disaster is hardly arousing much sympathy in the world beyond the typical headlines. Hurricane Florence, which hit the South Carolina coast two weeks ago and took a total of six victims, received ongoing media coverage on an international scale.
Alongside the destroyed roads in Indonesia are signs reading “we need food” and “we need help.” International rescue teams find it difficult to operate without proper equipment, tens of thousands of injured residents are in need of treatment. Hundreds of thousands have lost their homes, and in whole areas, hundreds of people are still trapped under collapsed structures. Their voices have gone silent and the rescue forces may never reach them.
The world, which only a month ago was nervously following a nerve-racking rescue of a group of boys outside a cave in northern Thailand, prefers to be occupied with Trump’s and Percy’s speeches.
It’ll be a mistake to think that Indonesia’s influence somewhere in Southeast Asia is remote. We live in an integrated global world, and the various disasters that have plagued us in recent decades illustrate the interdependence that characterizes the global system we live in.
On face value, nations associate themselves with international organizations whose declared goal is the general good, but in practice, they merely advance their own private interests. The World Trade Organization, NATO, the Organization of the Islamic Conference (G8), the OECD, the UN, the EU and even the Internet — are just a few examples of the networks we have created, and yet, it’s all mostly for show.
We lack the awareness that we’re all sailing stormy seas together on a single boat — that the storm is coming and may drown us together. The exploitive competition between us driven by unfettered egoism that characterizes the human race, prevents us from feeling that we are one big family.
However, nature does not recognize international boundaries, does not distinguish between rich and poor, and does not skip anyone. Nature shows us how vulnerable we all are. Ultimately, nature’s system will force us to recognize our interdependence and achieve balance in human society.
Whether we learn it the hard way or the easy way, we will come to see that we’re all one and there’s no difference between Indonesian and American, between European and African, between developed and third world countries. We live together on a single planet, and in the eyes of nature, we are all equal. No one is more important than the other.
Rather than ignoring this reality until it hits us in our face, we can consciously raise ourselves to a higher level of human connection through education and practice. When we begin to do so, our concern for all of humanity will grow and expand, we will naturally find the ways to build a safe, beautiful and good life for everyone on the planet.

How Should Underdeveloped Countries Develop?

laitman_963.4Question: How should the development of underdeveloped countries occur? What is a better approach: micro-finance or macro-finance?
Answer: Only by developing traditional education, which is inherent to all people in the world, so that education and culture correspond to the nation’s nature, will we be effectively developing each nation.
We must understand that, in general, there are 70 nations of the world and they are all unequal. Similar to bodily organs, they need to complement each other. Therefore, if we show an equal and kind attitude to everybody, but according to the nature of each, we will see that they really can make a remarkable contribution to humanity.
Then we will manage to extract the maximum benefit from each nation. This all depends on a benevolent and warm attitude toward everyone, so that he or she can serve humanity precisely in the measure that corresponds to him or her.
We must understand that all of nature is divided between countries and nations such that it leads a person to a state in which each one complements another. As a result, we really can find ourselves in an equal and perfect world where each one fills the other and reaches a world that is all good.
We will then be privileged to see that each nation has a remarkable share in humanity. Also, only because they complement each other are we rewarded with a perfect life in all of human society—with loveperfection, respect, and honor for everyone.
First of all, we need to reveal that every nation has its place, just as the organs of the body have their places. We need it, and until we see that we need it, we will be unable to evaluate and raise it to its own distinctive realization.

You Are Responsible For The Whole World

laitman_929Baal HaSulam, “The Giving of the Torah”: “Our sages said ‘All of Israel are responsible for one another.’ This seems to be completely unjust, for is it possible that if someone sins or commits a sin that upsets his Maker, and you have no acquaintance with him, the Creator will collect his debt from you? It is written, ‘Fathers shall not be put to death for children… every man shall be put to death for his own sin” (Deuteronomy 24:16), so how can they say that you are responsible for the sins of even a complete stranger, of whom you know neither him nor his whereabouts?'”
To the extent that we climb the steps of correction, in the measure of our spiritual development we are responsible for others.
Question: Baal HaSulam emphasizes that we are responsible for everyone, without knowing, seeing, or being with them. How can this be?
Answer: This is not about people. It is about the system: you are responsible for it because you can bring the upper Light on it, which will fix it. At your level, you must do it.
It is yours! The whole world is your Kli, your vessel, your soul. And that is why you are responsible for the whole world.

New Life #81 – Health: Infectious Diseases, Viruses, And Bacteria

New Life #81 – Health: Infectious Diseases, Viruses, And Bacteria
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
We create diseases, viruses, and bacteria through our egoistic insistence not to connect to one another. We can also be infected by spiritual viruses and evil thoughts. If we don’t advance and evolve correctly toward one, unified system of mutual bestowal, we invoke the forces of nature that balance us through destruction and cleansing. Nature is leading us along the levels of mental and emotional evolution, on the way to conscious balance with nature. A good environment brings along good viruses that will win since they are on the same frequency as nature’s program, like the upper force of bestowal.

Is It Possible To Make Everyone Happy?

laitman_608.02Question: How does a Kabbalist know that there is a common good? This reeks of communism and a desire to make everyone happy without their desire for it.
Answer: No, it is impossible to make a person happy without his desire for it.
There is an upper abundance, the source of which is the Creator. We just need to develop our correct desires in order to be fulfilled. That is why Kabbalah is called “the wisdom of reception.”
There is no coercion in spirituality. We ourselves must want, ask, and convince ourselves and our friends that reception for the sake of bestowal is perfect because it is infinite and unlimited.
By receiving in order to pass onto others, I become a conduit, like a pipe through which the fulfillment flows. However, since everything passes through me, all of it is mine and I transfer all this further, and in the same measure am emptied for a new reception.

The Matrix The Creator Is In

laitman_963.8Question: Our thoughts should be with the Creator at all times, with love and kindness. How can I reach this state and remain in it constantly?
Answer: To do this, you need a group; otherwise, you will be detached from the Creator. Try it on your own and you will see how you will be thrown out because you have nothing to hold onto.
In and of itself, the Creator does not exist so that I can somehow hold onto Him, adhere to Him. A matrix is necessary, some system in which He exists and through which I could be in contact with Him.
The Creator created this system from ten Sefirot, which are connected to each other from a broken state. Since we do not have this system, we need a group. If we try to recreate this system through all possible attempts to unite, we begin to feel what the Creator is, what this quality that we must attain and that needs to fill us is.
Here, there is a lot of new research. Practically, this is the whole science of Kabbalah.

What Does Kabbalah Offer?

laitman_281.02Question: Why is it easier for people with depression to shoot themselves rather than to change their viewpoint that led them to depression in the first place?
Answer: Shooting themselves is not a problem. We know that some may end this life because in this way one escapes one’s suffering. Therefore, we must think of how to rise above such suffering.
Kabbalah offers you, while you are still in this life and the protein body still exists, the sensation of entering life’s next level called “the soul,” that is, the property of bestowal. Everyone who hears this has this opportunity regardless of age. Let’s help one another to realize this quickly. This is all in our power.

New Life #78 – Pain And Health

New Life #78 – Pain And Health
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
Pain passes when we open our hearts up to others. Pain comes from feeling the limits of our senses and from the separation between us. We feel the world through pain, which comes as a warning. Today, we absorb the pain and bad moods of others because we are linked. Nature is requiring us to arrange the relationships between us properly based on mutual love; otherwise, we will all suffer from pain. It is time to tear down the walls and borders between us.

Sensitivity To The Light

laitman_938.05Question: What is sensitivity to the Light, what does it depend on, and how can it be developed?
Answer: Sensitivity to the Light depends on how much a person can suppress his dislike of others and connect with his friends coercively, against his desire.
According to this effort, he begins to develop sensitivity to the Light.
In general, we do not want to get closer to our friends. But to the extent that each of us still tries to do this, we develop sensitivity to the Light within ourselves, sensitivity to the quality of bestowal, love, and connection.

Can A Heartless Person Have A Soul?

Laitman_049.01Question: Can a person who has a soul in the Kabbalistic sense be heartless or unscrupulous by human standards?
Answer: Only a person who has a connection with the common soul has a soul. His qualities extend beyond the limits of egoism, which absorbs everything into itself. And he, on the other hand, wants to give, to disseminate. Thus, he is connected with the common soul by a reciprocal mutual connection.
Question: But can he appear to be shameless and heartless on the outside?
Answer: No, because he is connected with the common soul. But in the eyes of egoists, he can appear quite odd, and maybe even rude, because he does not satisfy their petty egotistical notions.

New Life #77 – Health And Illness

New Life #77 – Health And Illness
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
Illness stems from an imbalance in the body’s systems, which is caused by an imbalance in society, which is caused by an imbalance with nature. In other words, egoistic relationships destroy the overall health within the system in which we are all connected. Health or balance, on the other hand, is equal to the degree of a person’s connection to the general and integral system of nature. In order to create a healthy environment in which everyone can thrive, we need to learn how to communicate with each other, like cells in a body. We can only be healthy together!

Bibi UN Speech

Dr. Michael Laitman

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 9/29/18
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly was impressive. The rhetorical talent, the perfect English, and the ability to communicate complex messages all stand to his favor. As much as one may criticize him, he fulfills his role in representing the state of Israel in the world with great dedication.
And Bibi is not the only one who deserves credit. Behind him are mighty forces and brilliant minds who serve the Israeli intelligence and security, geniuses who turn Israel into a technological superpower, talented researchers and entrepreneurs who have brought about tremendous developments in the fields of water, agriculture, cyber, health and the list goes on.
But even when Netanyahu exposed the secret nuclear site in Tehran, the precision missile factories in Beirut, the fact that Iran never abandoned its nuclear weapons program, it did not leave the desired impression. The world is already beginning to take apart his outspoken revelations by claiming that the facilities contain documents and not missiles.
“I am the son of a historian,” Netanyahu declared during his UN speech, directing his words to European leaders who promised to give Iran more money. “I ask it not merely as historian’s son, as a Jew, as a citizen of the world, as someone who lived through the 20th century: Have these European leaders learned nothing from history? Will they ever wake up?”
With all due respect to history as represented by historians, there are also Kabbalists in mankind – a handful of people with spiritual attainment who see a deeper picture of reality.
The Kabbalists point to a clear trend in the attitude of the nations of the world toward Israel. They expect a wave of anti-Semitism to sweep all Jews around the world, hatred that will rise to new heights – both toward the Jews and the State of Israel.
When hatred gets out of proportion, no nation will need to justify its negative and hostile attitude towards Israel. Nations may even be proud of their despicable acts, just as it happened in the 1930s, and no leader will be able to lower the flames. Not even Trump.
Kabbalah is the only wisdom that explains the irrational hatred towards Jews. It describes the phenomenon of anti-Semitism as a law that stems from the nature of reality, and takes on a new face in every generation. Rather than trying to deny it, we have to learn how it serves the purpose of Creation.
According to Kabbalists, the Jewish people have a unique attribute, the potential to bring unity to all of mankind. Once they learn how to realize this potential, they will not only neutral anti-Semitism, but also enable the whole of humanity to rise above the human ego and discover a life of social harmony.
This was Abraham’s unprecedented discovery: when human beings make a common effort to build positive relationships above their inherent egotism, a new spiritual space opens up between them, where they can sense the wholeness and harmony of nature. This is the true meaning of “Love thy neighbor as thyself” and it is the essence of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Am Yisrael” – the people of Israel – started from a group of Kabbalists who gathered around Abraham in ancient Babylon some 4,000 years ago. They were, in fact, representatives of the various tribes and nations that existed back then. Therefore, the Jewish people acts like a central “hub” within humanity, designed to enable global unity across all of mankind.
Nature is a globally integrated system that binds together all people in total interdependence. The connections are hidden, yet they are stable and intricate. The phenomenon of anti-Semitism arises when the people of Israel fail to fulfill their role in the system – abandoning their unity, social solidarity, and positive connection. In this respect, it is sad to see that we haven’t learned our lesson from history.
A relationship of hatred among us, Jews, determines the hatred of the world toward us. Humanity does not hate Israel by choice. Even without their awareness, the hatred that erupts from the nations of the world is destined to motivate the Jews to realize their spiritual purpose.
Today’s Iran merely plays the leading role in the international anti-Israeli movement. Speech after speech, diagram after diagram, another discovery of a nuclear facility – and the world’s attitude toward Israel does not change.
Subconsciously, humanity expects us to be more than a technological superpower. They expect us to be a spiritual superpower, because when the people of Israel activate their spiritual unity, they enable a life of peace and happiness for everyone.
This is the kind of spirit that humanity is waiting for, along with a practical work plan to follow. Ultimately, only this action will generate waves of sympathy and affection among the nations toward Israel.

New Life #76 – Money And Connection In The Family

New Life #76 – Money And Connection In The Family
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
All the problems and financial pressures that occur in families are meant to bring us to connection with one another. Family members should respond to negativity by uniting the same way a country does when a foreign army attacks. The problems will disappear if the family connects together! We can learn to heal relationships through conversation, workshops, games, and activities that create mutual responsibility.
