Perceive The Ten As A Place Where The Creator Dwells

laitman_962.1We cannot reach equivalence of form with the Creator by focusing only on Him. The Creator is elusive and inaccessible to our personal perception. However, by tuning our perception to mutual love in the ten, we direct ourselves to the Creator.
The Creator is concealed; He exists only as an impression in our spiritual vessel, the ten. The ten takes care of bringing contentment to the Creator through themselves. It turns out that in order to bring joy to my friends so that I bring contentment to the Creator, I rise above my egoism, self-concern, and all this care reaches the Creator. Caring for friends turns into a vessel (Kli), clothing my care for the Creator.
The Creator is clothed in my concern for the friends, for the ten. I cannot build a relationship directly with Him, but if I am ready to take care of my friends, the Creator clothes in this care. It turns out that I have practical work that I can do and let the Creator clothe into it.
Therefore, it is said: “From love of the created beings to love of the Creator,” and the love of the Creator is realized within the love of the created beings. Only in this way can the communication with the Creator be achieved.1
My goal is the Creator. I want to care for Him just as He cares for me. But I have nothing to cling onto because I do not know who the Creator is, and I can begin to fantasize about Him, build idols. Initially, Abraham did this by building idols. But then he saw that it is impossible to reach the revelation of the upper force that governs the whole of reality in such a way.
Therefore, Abraham shattered the idols and began to yearn for the Creator who no longer had a statue or image, no one to bow before. The clothing in which we can imagine or form the Creator is the ten, the group. And so, Abraham began to gather people around himself with calls: “Who is for the Creator—come to me!,” “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and “Love will cover all crimes.”
The connection of people is that vessel inside which the Creator is revealed. The correct connection, when everyone cares for the others, is the only “idol” that we are allowed to build so that the upper spirit that fills the group, the ten Sefirot, enters into it. The ten, having reached the correct connection, turns into the clothing within which the Creator dwells. I must perceive the ten as a place, a vessel in which the upper spirit dwells.2

The Creator And The Feeling Of Happiness

laitman_261Question: How is the feeling of happiness connected with “there is none else besides Him”?
Answer: When we begin to feel that there is no one but the Creator, then we experience real happiness. After all, we feel that we are in His source and that is why all problems disappear.
We become the owners of our existence for all centuries and conditions. Thus, there is none else besides Him leads a person to the attainment of the absolute.

The Purpose Of A Kabbalistic Group, Part 10

laitman_527How are Kabbalistic principles different from psychology?
Question: How are the principles of work in a Kabbalistic group different from psychology? After all, they are very similar.
Suppose, I consider you as an intelligent person, and in order to get something from you, naturally, I must exalt you. And if I consider myself smarter than you, I will not get anything. Isn’t that psychology?
Answer: This is not psychology, because in our movement to a group, to unity, and to connection, we strive to attract the upper force, called “the Creator” according to the methodology prescribed by Kabbalists. In this way, we rise above psychology.
We do not deal with a person’s psychological properties, but rather want the upper force, the upper light to begin to act on these properties and on the person himself.
Question: For example, there is a principle of exalting a friend. And I try to belittle myself. Isn’t that psychology?
Answer: These are all psychological actions, but by trying to lower myself, I plug into my friends, and in this way we form a system that is in equivalence of form with the upper light. It all depends on our intention: what we strive for, why we do it.
Question: It turns out that in psychology, lowering oneself and exalting someone is carried out in order, for example, to feel better, and here, in order to reveal the Creator. That is, the difference is only in the goal, although the external means are similar?
Answer: Naturally. The goal determines everything.

Bnei Baruch—We Are Responsible For The Whole World

laitman_294.3We live in a special time when the world begins to feel that it must change its attitude to life, to reality, humanity, society, family, to everything. Everyone understands that this is necessary, but no one knows how to do it. Statements by politicians and lawmakers show their complete helplessness. Humanity has exhausted all options and there is no place left to go: people have no attraction to views of the extreme left, right, or middle. The new generation is totally indifferent to it all.
This is a sign that the time has come for the last generation when we are obliged to discover the essence of life for everyone. The Creator has chosen our Bnei Baruch group to realize this goal, giving us such a desire. The desire comes from the light. If a person has become illuminated a little bit by the spiritual world, the desire for spirituality awakens in him or her. And if the light suddenly begins to attract us to corporeal life, then we will drown in corporeality. We all awaken only thanks to the light.
Therefore, if we received such an awakening, we are responsible for the whole world and we are called Isra-El (straight to the Creator). The Creator will not take care of us if we fail to realize this task for humanity. We gather in the convention not only for internal connection but to generate a force with our unity that can attract the whole of humanity. It is necessary to unite very strongly at the convention and attract the light that reforms, which will advance us so that the world will feel that it has someone to follow, that there is a group in which the upper force dwells, Israel, “straight to the Creator,” the group lead by Abraham.1
The world has evolved to a state where it must receive a new force, aspiration, and goal that was previously absent. Until now, the world was moving toward a goal that was material and egoistic, one achievement at a time. That kind of development has exhausted itself. This is evident in the young generation, which is drawn much less to material values. For a complete awakening, only a few more epidemics such as coronavirus are missing. And of course, they will come, because we ourselves awaken them with our attitude.2
I want to be included in Adam HaRishon, in the common system where all souls are connected. I want to feel souls, not bodies, living in a single soul. I must realize such an awakening if I have one, because it is a genuine gift from above, an awakening of a part of divinity from above.
The world needs such a change of direction because it is lost and lacks understanding of where to go next. These are not just signs of the last generation. This is our reality.
Everyone who wants to realize their soul is obliged to connect with other souls. This is how we gather the soul of Adam HaRishon, and after uniting these parts, we will feel spiritual life inside them.3

“How Workplace Stress Among Doctors Leads To Suicide” (KabNet)

KabNet published my new article: “How Workplace Stress among Doctors Leads to Suicide
As distressing a problem as suicide is in and of itself, suicide among doctors is particularly troubling. Hundreds of doctors take their lives each year at a rate of over double that of the general population.
Why do so many doctors, a profession that is widely respected and well paid, end up committing suicide?
Doctors, and more specifically physicians, often find themselves under excruciating pressure, strict time constraints, and faced with cases beyond their ability to handle. Although trained to act with a sharp intellect and friendly warmth, some simply cannot bear the burden and face deep depression and stress.
They take on the patients’ problems, and by doing so, the doctors themselves become patients. Their dedication prevents them from abandoning their work, but the mental and emotional weight they bear stifles them. Some of them thus end up reaching such despair where they see no other option but to resign from life.
“Only positive connection among the body of human society has the power to cure our life’s systems, from the human body to the most distant reaches of society.”
Recently, in January 2019, an intern at the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, Israel put an end to his life, becoming the fourth suicide by an Israeli doctor since 2018. The other three were senior doctors. The overworked and highly stressful atmosphere of dealing with crowded emergency rooms, caring for patients that can be from difficult populations, as well as the demanding work of conducting surgeries, training interns, the need to work long hours, and also working in congested departments surrounded by infectious diseases during their long work hours, all takes its toll.
The medical profession has a responsibility on its shoulders beyond its ability to carry. From one year to the next, medical professionals try to serve every ill person needing help, to act as angels from heaven, but it surfaces that they too are mortal flesh and blood.
In Israel, the health care system is suffering, despite having no lack of funding. Patients often wait in long queues for someone to deliver them from pain. Doctors, nurses and hospital staff all work busily and devotedly day and night in order to ensure health for everyone. Yet, the diseases become more aggressive, patient needs more exhausting, and the medicines less effective. Ultimately, doctors find themselves entangled and struggling within the overwhelming complexity of it all.
Perhaps such a desperate situation will force us to recognize the single ultimate disease that has one ultimate cure.
When positive connection is missing between the “organs” of human society, when we fail to think and act considerately toward one another, our “social body” falls ill and dies, and with it, our physical bodies also. Only positive connection among the body of human society has the power to cure our life’s systems, from the human body to the most distant reaches of society.
Kabbalist Yehuda Ashlag, renowned for being the greatest Kabbalist of the 20th Century, wrote the following about this phenomenon:
“Observing life, we see that the process of a nation is just as the process of an individual. The functioning of each person within the nation is like the functioning of the organs in a single body. There must be complete harmony among the organs of each person—the eyes see and the brain is assisted by them to think and to consult, and then the hands work or fight, and the legs walk. Thus, each stands on its guard and awaits its role. Similarly, the organs that comprise the body of the nation—counselors, employers, workers, deliverers, etc.—should function in complete harmony among them. This is necessary for the nation’s normal life and for a secured existence.
“As the natural death of the individual results from disharmony among one’s organs, the nation’s natural decline results from some obstruction that occurred among its organs, as our sages testified (Tosfot, Baba Metzia, Chapter Two), ‘Jerusalem was ruined only because of unfounded hatred that existed in that generation.’ At that time, the nation was plagued and died, and its organs were scattered to every direction.” (Yehuda Ashlag, “The Nation”)
Separation causes both the death of the human body and the body of society. All the parts that make up any delicate system must be in a perfect symbiotic relationship. A spirit of mutual consideration and responsibility must flow among all of any system’s parts for its healthy functioning.
In order to reach such relations, a deep-rooted healing process among society as a whole is required, one in which not only doctors, but every person, is vigilant day and night to stand beside any person in distress.
In short, we will only be able to secure our society with mentally and emotionally healthy doctors when we accept our responsibility to build an emotionally healthy society—by forming positive human relations above all instances of division.

“The Coronavirus’ Deeper Cause And Solution According To Kabbalah” (Times Of Israel)

The Times of Israel published my new article “The Coronavirus’ Deeper Cause and Solution According to Kabbalah
Depictions of total chaos have emerged from Wuhan, China, the city where the coronavirus first started spreading. 60 million citizens are under curfew, schools across the region are closed until further notice, and authorities recommend avoiding any unnecessary contact with people, including shaking hands. The strange plague also quickly spread beyond China’s borders, causing worldwide panic.
If we look at this situation through the lens of the wisdom of Kabbalah, there is nothing new here. Everything is unfolding naturally. The egoistic line of thought embedded within us makes us imagine the world as fixed and unchanging, that only we humans move in our reality. We thus place ourselves at the center of the world and imagine the control we have over the system of nature with our short-sighted selfish nature. However, such outbreaks as the coronavirus come to show us that this is not exactly the case.
In our five senses of perception, we are unable to see that the shifts taking place in our constantly changing world are currently developing with a negative trajectory relative to us. In our ignorance, we have pitted ourselves against nature.
The raw matter of creation, termed “the desire to enjoy” in the wisdom of Kabbalah, is in constant growth. In humans, this desire is expressed with an additional egoistic quality, where we aim to fulfill this desire to enjoy at the expense of others. We thus become inflated with self-importance, mentally and emotionally detaching from one another. Due to the destructive tendency of the egoistic desire to enjoy at the expense of others, Kabbalists describe this quality as the “evil inclination.”
With such an egoistic nature, we find ourselves faced with a serious paradox: On one hand, by nature we want to enjoy, to be at rest, and to use anyone and anything in order to achieve whatever each of us pictures as enjoyable. On the other hand, if we fail to cover the evil inclination with a good one, with an intention to benefit others, then we set ourselves up for self-destruction.
The pace of the coronavirus epidemic’s expansion should be seen as a warning signal for us to realize that we are on the verge of facing unmanageable challenges from nature. Until today, the imbalance between the good and evil forces, i.e., between the desire to benefit others and the desire to enjoy for self-benefit alone, has surfaced slowly and gradually in small increments. At this slower pace, we have had enough time to develop antibodies to battle the mutations, even if only temporarily.
However, with the exponentially accelerating rate of change, we could be faced with a disastrous plague in the future unless we learn how to balance these qualities—our human inclination to live at the expense of all, and the characteristic of nature that demands altruistic connections between every aspect of the environment, humans included. At the moment, we foolishly pit ourselves against nature in a losing battle.
There is no cruelty here on nature’s part. Nature operates by fixed and absolute laws in order to develop us to a perfect, balanced and harmonious state. We thus need only work out what is our role in this nature, and seek how we can become an active and beneficial element in nature.
Our key role in the system of nature is to function as the essential component that brings balance to the world through realizing nature’s primary law, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, when we try to connect with threads of love, we align with nature’s positive force by becoming similar to it. By doing so, we cause a “love virus” to emerge between us, and it spreads through us to nature on all of its levels, the inanimate, vegetative, animate and human. In short, positive human connections where we each aim to benefit each other will balance all ills in the world.

Changing Your Attitude Toward The World

laitman_293.1Question: Some people, feeling the lack of something, automatically feel unhappy. That is, there is a widespread model in society that happiness is continuous joy and pleasure. There should be no suffering in my life. Where does such a model come from?
Answer: This is the wrong formulation of happiness, the wrong formulation of the question, and the wrong upbringing. We do not know our nature, and therefore, unfortunately, we are unhappy.
If we understood who we are and what we are, we would be able to form ourselves so that our structure and attitude to any state would be perfect.
This is what Kabbalah does. It does not change the world, it does not say that you have to change something around you. You must change your attitude toward the world. Then you will be happy. And you will be in an absolute state.

Meaning Of Life, Part 8

laitman_939.02We Will Raise their Desires to the Creator with our Intention
Question: Is it possible to reveal the Creator with people who are not searching for the meaning of life?
Answer: No.
Question: So that means there should be a group of people with one common goal. What are the other 8 billion for?
Answer: Others will gradually feel that they have no meaning in life, that they need something, although perhaps it is not yet the attainment of the Creator. However, they will feel and discover all sorts of negative qualities, negative aspects of their lives, and in order to get rid of them, they will still have to gather in groups that are attaining the Creator. Not at this level, but at a lower one.
The meaning of life is the destiny of just a small group. The remaining 8 billion will be aspiring for the Creator for various reasons. For example, because they need to provide for their children, family, etc. They will not have a question about the meaning of existence.
Nevertheless, their aspirations for some materialistic goals will be enough because they will enter into our desires even with their egoistic desires, and we will be able to raise their desires to the Creator with our intention.
It is enough if they just know that there is a goal, and you need to gradually get used to it, adapt to it. This is enough to make this goal manifest in the masses even without raising their intentions to altruism. It is because we will give them our intentions, and they will give us their desires.

Desire To Reveal The Creator

Laitman_524.01Question: During the workshop, a desire to reveal the Creator was felt. This desire appeared more than once for a second and disappeared. Then there was a demand that this desire would stay. Can I demand it or should I somehow hold on to it?
Answer: Only if it is within the group. If it is not within the group, this is egoism.
Question: This actually happened in the ten.
Answer: Then you should try to bring this desire back to you but through the ten.

Meaning Of Life, Part 7

laitman_530Duty to Reveal the Creator
Question: Let’s say I found a group of like-minded people who, like me, are trying to find the meaning of life manifested in the revelation of the Creator. If I am helping them reveal the Creator and this is more important for me than to attain Him myself, then under these conditions will the Creator appear between us?
Answer: A quality called “the Creator” will appear between you, that is, the quality of absolute bestowal and love. The attainment of this property, its sensation within you, is the highest possible pleasure.
I think that it is not enough just to try, all our lives today push us to this, and we cannot get away from this. We will have to reveal the Creator exactly from various states of descent, emptiness, and everything else that we go through.
Comment: It seems that this is not very difficult to find people who are also looking for the meaning of life, gather them in a group, and try to take care that they always have the importance of this meaning.
My Response: This is what we are doing now. In practice, we are trying to create a group that would be an example, a laboratory, and then everyone would be able to do the same in it.
Like Baal HaSulam wrote that we need to first build the correct society, which would be an example for everyone else. Then everyone else could act in the same way as this society. In principle, this is what we want to achieve.

Building The Future Society, Part 10

laitman_293Under the Slogan of Love
Question: 98% of people believe in God, and they all say that God is love. On the other hand, we see that for hundreds of thousands of years, people have been killing each other in the millions. Why do we physically destroy each other while believing that God is love?
Answer: One does not apply to the other. People just say, “God is love,” just like a child repeats.
Remark: But there are people who devote their entire lives to the Creator.
My Comment: At the same time, they destroy each other, fight in the name of the Creator. There are such theories that by killing another, you give him paradise, as you deprive him of his sinful life.
Look at what people are capable of: going to death, blowing themselves up next to other people, and all in the name of a higher power.
Question: All the same, it comes from one force, there is nothing but it. So is the fact that people behave this way an evolutionary process?
Answer: This is a correction process.

Resist Egoism, Think About Connection

laitman_962.4
We are still in exile, inside our egoistic desire that separates us. However, it is known that in order to implement the method of correction, we must organize ourselves in tens, as we did after the exodus from Egypt when Jethro came to Moses and started arranging the people of Israel in tens.
We do not yet feel that there is a special force in the ten, and therefore, we are disappointed in it and do not understand why we need it. However, the fact is that the Creator must be revealed in the connection between us. Ten desires (precisely desires and not people) want to discover the Creator, and for this, they display a good attitude toward each other in order to connect and become “as one man with one heart” with respect to the spiritual goal.
Between these tens and the Creator hidden between them, there is a restriction. The Creator is hiding behind the screen as if behind an opaque glass that does not let Him be seen. But He is in the middle, in the center of the ten. To the extent that the friends can connect and influence the Creator, the surrounding light, the quality of bestowal and mercy, the Creator is revealed to them.
All this occurs between them in the center of the ten. There are strict laws that help us fulfill the condition of equivalence of form. Therefore, our work is to make a common effort to create the surrounding light, as it is written: “In Your light shall we see light.”
The surrounding light, which comes from above as a result of our efforts, makes the opaque glass transparent, and we see the Creator behind it revealed in the connection between us in the ten.1
We want to connect with each other without paying attention to any differences. Of utmost importance is the aim for one common goal and feeling that with this aspiration we build “the field that the Creator has blessed” between us. Therefore, a certain field appears between us, woven from our efforts and aspirations to come closer to each other.
We do not yet see anything in this field except our attempts to build and feel the Creator. However, to the extent that we exert, we begin to feel that a new force operates in this area, the surrounding light, generated above the will to receive. Each one rejects one’s personal egoism and above it reaches out to others, and in this way, we create our common reflected light, which builds a field between us and opens up the opportunity to manifest on it the force of bestowal, unity, love, that is, the Creator.
It is as if I want to look through a window, but it is completely opaque and I cannot see anything through it. However, if I can resist my egoism and think about connection, about the benefit of the ten, and the purpose of creation, then I generate the reflected light that makes the opaque glass transparent. Then I see the Creator on the other side of it, not as a person, but as qualities that I begin to recognize.
In fact, I do not recognize the Creator; rather, I build Him, as it is written: “As though you have made Me.” I mold the Creator out of my desires for bestowal.2
From the 1st part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 1/11/20Writings of Baal HaSulam, “The Freedom”

“Garbage” Food

The food waste is the third-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions. EU alone throws out more than 12 billion tons of food per year. In order to prevent food waste, in England, a new project has been developed: a certain time before the food has to be thrown out by restaurants and cafes, it is available for home delivery. Will such an approach give a good example and help to solve the food distribution problem in the world?
It is true, a so-called Pagpag (“garbage” food) is gaining popularity in the world. It does have a minor impact on the food-related issues, however, dealing with the consequences of the problem does not solve the root breach. We are still inclined to over-consuming and discarding the products, while a vast number of people are hungry, malnourished, etc.
What is the optimal solution?
In order to distribute food correctly, we need to learn how to consume correctly. We are required to create such of social education environment, where, even one wakes up every morning an egoist, he is pushed into the awareness that he is just a small part of a huge system and that he depends on it as well as it depends on him. This needs to be explained to a person on a daily basis, at every opportunity, through all information channels, so we all realize how we influence the world and take our responsibility on how to make it a better and happier place.

Building The Future Society, Part 9

laitman_552.03Integration at the Level of Love
Baal HaSulam, Building the Future Society, Chapter 3, Item9: In other words: except for the matter of “Love thy friend as thyself,” each nation may follow its own religion and tradition, and one must not interfere with another.
If in the society of the future people will have some kind of religious or philosophical interests, they can easily engage in them.
The main thing is love your neighbor as yourself. This law is several degrees above all other laws, all kinds of conditions and artificial tricks.
The fact that people engage in meditation, imagine the spiritual and the future in the form of social cults, does not matter. The main thing is that there is a connection between everyone at the level of love. For the rest, do what you want.

Meaning Of Life, Part 6

laitman_608.02Patent of Continuous Pleasure
Question: In corporeal life, is the fulfillment of our desires felt on the collision, with the disappearance of pleasure? For example, when I am thirsty I take a few sips of water and feel pleasure at the same time. Then it disappears. As far as I understand, there is a patent of continuous pleasure in Kabbalah.
Answer: In Kabbalah there is indeed a means that allows one to enjoy continuously more and more. In our world, any pleasures on the inanimate, vegetative and animate degrees extinguish our desires. Both desire and pleasure disappear—I feel twice as empty, i.e., I practically kill myself.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, I must receive pleasure in a form that does not extinguish my desire. Then I will feel this pleasure for eternity. The more I have pleasure and desire for it—even more pleasure, even more desire—I will constantly feel more and more fulfilled. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah is called the science of receiving.
Question: That is, there should be some kind of a barrier, resistance, so that pleasure will not extinguish the desire. What is it?
Answer: This is an ascent above our egoistic desire when I break away from it and use it for its intended purpose, regardless of my feelings, to fill it with pleasure. Moreover, the pleasure that I experience must be felt by me not for my own sake, but for the sake of others or for the sake of the Creator.
Question: Does it mean that another person can become this resistance?
Answer: Yes. If I do it for the other person, then I isolate myself. I separate my desire from fulfillment because I do it for the sake of the other. Then my desire does not disappear. It is not extinguished by pleasure because the pleasure relates to the other. In this state, I can enjoy continuously and indefinitely.
Question: So, we have a scheme here: I, another person, and pleasure. Is one person enough or should there be a group of people or even all of humanity?
Answer: It does not matter. Of utmost importance is that it is outside of me. I can then truly enjoy continuously and increasingly.
Question: How does this relate to the Creator? Where is the Creator in this?
Answer: The Creator is the cause of all this, and by His constant positive and negative influences on us, He teaches us how to build an instrument in which we will receive continuous, ever-increasing pleasure.
Question: Why is it not “I, the Creator, and pleasure,” but “I, another person, and pleasure”?
Answer: It does not matter whether it is the Creator or another person. Simply, the Creator here acts as a third person who replaces absolutely everyone. By aiming yourself to fulfill others in order to fulfill the Creator with it, you are as if completely detached from yourself.
Question: Does it mean that if I want to receive pleasure, I just need to find some stranger and do something good for him?
Answer: No. This is not how things happen. After all, in this way you begin to perceive this person like yourself, he becomes close to you. To give to another or to give to yourself—there is a danger that you will associate this with yourself, and in the end you will begin to fulfill him egoistically.
Comment: If this is, let’s say, my child, I can understand.
My Response: Even if this is not your child but a stranger. Therefore, everything should be related to the ten, through the group to the Creator in order to place this on a very serious degree.
Question: How is the Creator revealed here? Is it like fuel that gives me an opportunity to do something?
Answer: The Creator here is revealed as a goal, as an address to which my action is directed. I do it for His sake. Through the group of people to the Creator. I then have an absolutely clear intention for bestowal.
Question: How do I know what the Creator needs?
Answer: It does not matter. If I arrange my actions in such a way, I break away from my egoism. There is no Creator. I just need such an arrangement in order to exit myself and reach absolute and constant pleasure.
Question: What do I need to do for the sake of the others? Do I need to give them something?
Answer: You will begin to receive the understanding of what they are lacking and see opportunities to fulfill them through you, that is, to treat them in such a way that the upper light passes through you and fulfills them.
Question: Is there is a danger here that we might find ourselves in illusion?
Answer: You cannot be in illusion because this is disconnected from your egoism. Egoism cannot play with you here. This is very real, so much so that it takes years until we come to this state.
Question: But how do I know what others need? Let’s say, I have a few friends, so in the case that they ask, should I try to do something for them?
Answer: They need the same thing you need. Exactly the same thing.
Comment: Suppose, I need to find the meaning of life.
My Response: And they need the same. They are together with you in the same group.
Question: If I help them find the meaning of life, to reveal the Creator and they understand that, and I take care of that, is this called that I bestow to them?
Answer: Yes. You mutually help each other. Therefore, this common work brings you to one single desire, to one single intention. You are already considered connected with each other so much that you do not feel where you are and where the other is.
You have common desires, common intentions and in them you reveal the intention for the Creator from the entire group.

The Teacher Student Link

945Question: Suppose I chose a teacher and after two or three years I see that I have nothing to learn from him, and even know more than him. Such things happen in our world in music, sports, etc. Does it happen in Kabbalah?
Answer: Yes, the same can happen here. It is quite possible that it is worth changing teachers. But here you need to understand to whom you are changing. Either you change your teacher because you don’t want to apply more effort or because you have an urgent need for it because you cannot advance with the old teacher.
Question: Is there any particular connection between teacher and student?
Answer: The teacher is a conductor of the higher energy, higher light, and higher knowledge to the student. Therefore, it is important for us that the student is connected to his teacher because this connection does not vanish.
Remark: Earlier the groups were very small, and therefore a close relationship between the teacher and the student really existed. Today, you have millions of students and naturally, you know only a small amount of them.
My Comment: It does not matter who I know, it is important which of them considers oneself to be my student, one’s attitude toward me. To this extent, the student rushes with his or her inner movement toward me, and through me one receives contact with a higher power.

The Jewish Choice: Unity Or Anti-Semitism—Israel’s Duty Toward Humanity

laitman_283.02The people of Israel were assembled from those people who felt their duty to connect in order to comprehend the meaning of life and its purpose, the correction of creation, and the upper force. Therefore, they called themselves “Israel” (“Yashar-Kel“), which means “straight to the Creator.” Abraham chose these people from all the inhabitants of Babylon, that is, from all the nations of the world at that time, and he taught them the main principle of connection: love your neighbor as yourself.
Thus, they rose above the egoism that was constantly growing and swelling like yeast in the human society. However, this growth was purposeful: to ensure a sufficient gap between humanity’s massive egoism and the force of connection above the egoism society is obliged to achieve. When we reach a certain degree of opposition between egoism and connection, then within it, we begin to reveal the upper force, the upper world, and ourselves as belonging to the spiritual world.
The growing egoism is the engine that lifts us from this world to the spiritual world, from reception to bestowal, from hatred to love. If we follow the principles of “love will cover all crimes” and “everyone judges according to his own flaws,” then we can each individually, and as a group together, achieve such a strong connection in which the Creator will be revealed.
Over thousands of years, the group assembled by Abraham in Babylon has changed a lot. Part of it disappeared, dissolved in the nations of the world, and will later be revealed. There were many people among the people of Israel who have attained the degree of the Creator as they were able to overcome their egoism and connect. Over the years, the conditions changed, but the principle remains the same because the laws of the world are constant and unchanging. We only have to learn them and implement them in order to reach the corrected state.
Therefore, it is necessary to study the process that the group of Abraham went through in history, because “the deeds of the fathers will become a sign for the sons.” From this, we will understand the direction in which we move, what is happening to us, and what signs of the deeds of the fathers we can see today, because the eternal principle of love your neighbor as yourself, the law of connection, always works.
From the Ari onward, all the Kabbalists said that we have entered the era of the Messiah, that is, the time of the final correction. There is one last stage of our development left, although it might be quite long. As always, the nations of the world are applying pressure on the people of Israel, and this pressure is designed to force us to connect at least through the path of suffering.
The Jewish people must draw conclusions from their history and connect, following the example of their fathers. Through this connection, we will almost immediately feel relief from the external pressure thanks to our correct reaction to it and efforts to connect. Therefore, all the wars that are arising against us will immediately cease because we will begin to advance without external pressure. If we ourselves reveal our forces for advancement and rush forward, then those who were resisting us, on the contrary, will begin to help.
This will be a correct tendency, corresponding to the single upper force that wants to see humanity in such a connection. However, if we fail to make efforts in moving toward unity, then to the extent that these efforts are lacking, the nations of the world and the negative forces within the people of Israel will rise. They will start a struggle, a confrontation from all sides, in order to awaken us and force us to make the right choice: to understand the reason for this pressure and what we should do.
Today, we are in a very delicate and critical state. I spoke about this danger many years ago, but I did not expect that it would happen so quickly and that already in our time there would be such a special state between all the countries and nations all over the world.
We live in an era of new technologies, global communication, and we have reached a certain inner understanding of what is happening, the responsibility of humanity for our planet and the entire universe. In our time, there are many highly educated people with a broad outlook, not like it used to be before. Almost everyone has the opportunity to travel around the world and see the life of other nations, connecting with the whole world above distances and differences in languages.
However, in the matter of anti-Semitism, we see that nothing helps: the law that is bringing humanity toward connection acts harshly, one might even say cruelly. Above all, it applies pressure on those who should be the first to lead humanity, on the one nation that must do this work, that should become pioneers on this path, and lead the whole world.
There is no way around this law. The upper light, the upper forces are arranged in such a way that as soon as the people of Israel, the group assembled in the time of Abraham from all the nations, are united again, all the roads are opening for them. There are no difficulties, but to the contrary, there are forces of nature ready to help them and elevate them to the spiritual level on their shoulders. And following them, all of humanity will be happy to connect.
This is how the upper governance works, and this is how it will be. Everything depends on Israel as Baal HaSulam writes in the “Introduction to the Book of Zohar, only they have the freedom of choice.
Israel are those who are drawn to come closer to the Creator. They feel obliged to lead themselves and all of humanity to a common connection and spiritual elevation. Any person in the world, any nationality, black, white, red, yellow, all four layers in humanity—1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th—belong to one nation, which is obliged to achieve connection and adhesion with the Creator.
Therefore, there is growing pressure on this corporeal group called Israel all over the world, even though they do not understand what is happening to them. After all, they abandoned this work of bringing themselves and the whole world to adhesion with the Creator a long time ago. Humanity also did not receive the awareness that the world is undergoing a purposeful development that leads it to complete correction; therefore, it does not understand the reason for its hatred. The Jews are confused about what is wanted from them, and out of their great egoism, they dream only of peace and prosperity. The nations of the world feel as if Jews are hiding something from them, not allowing them to come to a good life.
Therefore, these two groups feel lost in the dark where aggression emanating from the nations of the world collides with the hatred and fear felt by the Jews. It is clear that this is no good for either of them: great suffering awaits those who commit violence and those who persist in not wanting to hear about correction. Therefore, it is our responsibility to explain the situation to both groups and push the correction process forward as much as possible.1
Those Who Were Resisting Us Will Help Us
If Jews begin to connect, the nations of the world will accept it gladly because they will see that through this connection, they can get closer to the essence of creation. With the very point, the very desire, from which anti-Semitism is now growing, they will feel that the right movement has begun because they will begin to receive illumination on this Reshimo.
Anti-Semitism is the feeling of lack in the nations of the world, the need to receive light through the connection of the Jews. It is the most ardent anti-Semites who will be the first to join the Jews. We have already seen such dramatic overturns in history.2
The Upper Force Does Not Change Its Plans
Today, American Jews already recognize the problem of anti-Semitism exists and is growing dangerously. On Sunday, January 3, a protest march against the growing anti-Semitism will be held in New York. Many accuse Trump as if he is to blame for the growing  anti-Semitism.
However, we need to understand that no one here can help. We know that America is a very strict country, and if some legislation is passed, it will be enforced the next day. The law is guarded by courts, prisons, and the police. However, in the case of anti-Semitism, there is nothing they can do. We will see that all the actions of the government and the attempts to extinguish anti-Semitism will have no effect. After all, we are dealing here with the law of nature.
In the coming days and weeks, we will witness the futile attempts of the American government to fix this problem. This will seem to be the weakness of Trump and the left will certainly take advantage of it by accusing him of being unable to protect the Jews. However, no measures will work. You can set up millions of police patrols and pass new laws, but it will not help.
The upper force must force the people of Israel to unite, and it will do so. It will not retreat even if only a small handful of people will remain from Israel and the rest are killed. However, the small group that remains will achieve connection and will be the beginning of a new humanity. All the nations will then connect around it and come to correction.
We will see that no government in the United States, neither right nor left, will be able to extinguish anti-Semitism. It is a force from above.3
In light of the growing anti-Semitism in America, can we be sure that moving to Israel guarantees a quiet life and protection from anti-Semites? Yes, but for a very short time. But if we do not convince the Jews around the world and in Israel to start connecting, the next stage will be tough, unprecedented sanctions against the state of Israel by all countries, including the United States.
We will feel as if we were under siege in Israel. This, too, will last for a short time, and then, if this also does not help convince the Jews of Israel to connect, as Baal HaSulam writes, we will be thrown out of this land and scattered again.4
Working for Idols and Working for Unity
I am not trying to assess how my words will be accepted by every part of society. A lifetime will not be enough to study this. I only need to learn how to come to correction and how to awaken the whole world to it to the best of my ability. That is all. I do not analyze their condition, religion, faith, science, or culture. Everything is much simpler. The whole world is divided into two parts: working for idols and working for connection. The upper force is unity, connection.
To achieve connection, there is a simple method: we awaken the force of unity by connecting with each other above our egoism, in spite of it. To the extent of this connection, between us we reveal the force of connection to the Creator, the revelation of the upper force.
There are two forces in nature: positive and negative. The positive force of connection is concealed, and the opposite, negative force of egoism is revealed. If we try to connect in the ten above the force of rejection, the force of our egoism, then the positive force awakens and helps us. This force is concealed in nature, but we discover it by our efforts and thus move toward connection.
Then, within our connection, we will clearly reveal the upper force, which is called the revelation of the Creator to the created beings.
This is our program. There are thousands of different spiritual methods, beliefs, and opinions in the world. We do not dig into them because it does not matter. After all, there are only two forces in the world that need to be brought to balance. This is the balance we create in the group through our connection.
The method of Kabbalah is very practical and concrete, and we can implement it.
Therefore, there is no point in trying to understand other philosophies because they are not based on the upper force. They say that a person should try to change himself as if he already has positive qualities. Kabbalah states that initially there is nothing positive in a person, only negative—one’s egoism. The evil inclination controls a person from one’s birth: “Man is born a wild ass,” and we must try to connect above egoism.5
