Everything Depends On The Right Preparation!

A spiritual action depends entirely on the preparation. That is because the action itself is already predetermined in advance and has to take place. Nothing can change in the entire program from the beginning until the end of creation. All of these phases are already definitely determined.

Man can intervene in a certain part of this program, but only in order to change its speed. However, there is also a part where he can change the character of the program that unravels within him, meaning to determine how he will experience his development.

Through this part of the program he establishes his independence and has the opportunity to express himself. That is how he ascends as an independent individual who has power, who is integral, and who understands and attains the entire program of creation which was intended only for this purpose.

Therefore, the preparation for a forthcoming action changes its character from the beginning and until the very end. Everything depends on the preparation, which is why we attribute so much significance to it.

Now, in anticipation of the convention that will be held in New Jersey at a time that is so special for the whole world, it is extremely important for our preparation to be correct and later to bring good results from our unification at the convention.
Let powerful waves expand outward from this place near New York, the center of America, like a good tsunami wave that will wash the world with love and the force of bestowal. This will enable people to understand how they should start relating to one another in anticipation of the new world and the changes we will have to go through according to nature’s program.

This will help the world go through these changes gently, quickly, and in a good way, by preparing for them and realizing what is happening, instead of like animals that are being beaten and spurred forward by the whip of history and who don’t understand what to do.

Therefore, everything depends on our preparation for the convention so that by virtue of it we will prepare the world for the changes it will have to go through in any case. By preparing for them well, the world will be able to accept them correctly and to see that they are for the better.

During the next 10 days, in the last hours we have left before the convention, we have to perform great work. We have to see every moment as preparation for an extremely important event and discern how we want to go through these moments in order to obtain the expected result for ourselves and for the whole world.

The King Of Egypt Died!

Shamati, Article 159: And it came to pass in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died… (Exodus) The greatness of the ego, all the good corporeal life, a person’s desire to feel better in life—everything falls, collapses, and dies. So what can a person do? This is what humanity as a whole and every individual are going through now. We cannot operate according to the ordinary ego for the ordinary corporeal causes.

And then, the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, which are those who yearn for spirituality, even if they don’t know what it is yet, and those who are already close to it, who somewhat understand that spirituality symbolizes bestowal and love regardless of their personal interests. Thus they begin to check themselves and see that they cannot go on this way.

This is a pyramid that contains those who simply cannot be consumers and serve their ego through those who have already clarified that spirituality symbolizes bestowal instead of self-love. Everyone takes his place in it and everyone “sighs” in his own point from this egoistic bondage.

There are those in whom the “point in the heart” has awakened, and there are those who simply suffer not knowing why. Everyone sighs under the burden of their situation, not knowing how to fill themselves.

And their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage—they don’t just cry, it is because of the hard work: from the futile attempts to fill their ego or from those that are more advanced but still cannot leave their old habits and take upon themselves the burden of God’s work and start working in bestowal and love of others.

But despite everything, “And God heard their groaning.” The Creator hears everyone that responds to what the Creator does with him. The system is built in such a way that the upper takes care of everyone according to a person’s level, but especially those who understand and have to aim themselves practically at bestowal and love in the group, in “bothers sitting together,” among those who yearn for the Creator.

The suffered so much that they could not bear it any longer. Then the people pleaded with prayer so much that their cry came up unto God; they were exhausted by this work. But on the other hand we see that that they were saying: “Would that we had… when we sat by the flesh-pots, when we did eat bread to the full.” And they also said, “We remember the fish which we were wont to eat in Egypt for naught…”which means that it seems that before everything was fine.

A person has two points at the same time: One is corporeal and the other which is seemingly spiritual. So he is between them and the further apart they are, the more space he has, and the more he knows his place and what he does.

An Infinite Process

Question: University studies are usually divided into several stages: first, second, third year, and so on. Should the integral education be also divided into formal stages, like in university?

Answer: By all means because a person has to see the stages he goes through. It spurs and motivates him, and it is absolutely essential.

On the other hand, during the studies we should constantly speak about the fact that everything is based on changes, self-transformation, self improvement, and the convergence between us and nature so that human society will also become integral, equal, and closer in its mutual cooperation, like all of nature. So people should understand that this is actually an infinite process, like life itself.

Eventually, a person begins to feel the infinity, the eternity of all of nature and gets closer to it more and more. He begins to feel that he is peaceful like all of nature and is able to bestow upon it his desires and thoughts because he starts getting in contact with it. This contact is felt in a person very clearly: He sees how he influences the world around him, even at the still level, not to speak of the vegetative and animate ones.

Our role is to reach a state when we as if influence nature by our desires, thoughts, and intentions and bring ourselves to absolute balance, to absolute comfort with the world around us. As strange as it may sound, when a person actually feels himself in harmony with everything that exists, the sensation of life and death disappears.

People have a certain discrepancy in their understanding and awareness of what life is. If we offer them an idea about it, it will gradually sink into them, and they will begin to understand that our movement towards balance with nature provides us with something supernatural, and not just some comfortable existence and a chance to multiply.

The Unbearable Bitterness Of Slavery

Shamati, Article 159: It means that if Israel are under the dominion of a certain nation, that nation controls them and they cannot retire from their dominion. Thus, they tasted sufficient flavor in that work and could not be redeemed.

So what did the Creator do? “The king of Egypt died,” meaning they had lost this servitude. Thus they could no longer work….

Is it good that Pharaoh died? After all, he brought the children of Israel closer to Holiness by forcing them to fulfill two discernments within them. On the one hand, they had pots full of meat, but on the other hand they were slaves.

If we don’t think about spirituality, then we forget the slavery and don’t feel that we are slaves. You work for your ego and you make good profit. Slavery begins when despite that the pots are full of meat; you feel that you have no spirituality because you don’t attain connection and love, the opportunity to exit the ego.

Slavery is felt only when you have two points of discernments: on the corporeal level everything is fine, but on the spiritual level, there is nothing and there won’t be anything. In this case it is called “slavery,” the domination of matter on the spirit. The Creator hears us only when we connect among us and begin to separate corporeality from spirituality, and see that we have to look for the spiritual point in the connection among us.

This is why we are called “the Children of Israel” and “brothers sitting together,” those who feel themselves as slaves in Egypt who don’t have the power to attain connection. At first everything seemed possible, was good and wonderful. Then the troubles began and we see that in different groups. This is the second stage of the slavery in Egypt, in which the Children of Israel groan from the hard work. They cannot connect, but instead of escaping, they continue to work on connection.

If a person doesn’t leave the group because of that, but continues to hit on that one point, trying to achieve connection, then eventually he despairs and cries out because he lacks the powers. If we are connected, we receive a vessel to discover the Creator, but we can’t create it by ourselves because a person can’t achieve spiritual actions by himself.

Then we groan from this work, which means that we understand that we need the help of the upper force. Only it can correct us and connect us. This groan is already a salvation, the great revelation of “there is none else besides Him,” and that only He can connect us. We have attained the desire to connect by our work when we understand that this is the only thing we need without any tempting corporeal conditions, no matter what they may be.

Evolution And Divine Providence

Question: How can we reconcile evolution and Divine Providence?

Answer: Everything agrees in the universe. Everything is controlled, except the freedom of will, in order to accelerate our progress to the extent of our awareness of the laws of the Creator and to follow them voluntarily in spite of our egoism. We are created similar to the Creator, and then in our world we found ourselves opposed to Him.

And to the extent of our voluntary aspiration to become similar to Him, that is, in the property of bestowal and love, in spite of our egoism, we reveal the upper world—the space filled with the revealed force of bestowal and love, the Creator. But all this takes place according to the laws of the four stages of development of the direct Light.

Hence, there are four fundamental constants that build our world. Their numerical values are based on the ratio of the Light and desire and determine the entire structure of the world: atoms, planets, stars, and life on Earth. All the natural systems are the result of the balance of the four interactions:

- the power of gravity tends to compress

- the electromagnetic force creates internal pressure

- the force released in nuclear processes

- the force of the strong and weak nuclear interactions.

The structure of any system depends on the interaction of these forces, that is, on the numerical values of fundamental constants; a very small change in them would have made the existence of the world impossible. It is absolutely unbelievable that such an incredible match could be the result of chance.

To survive, a human being requires special conditions, and any changes of the numerical values of the fundamental constants would rule out the existence of life.

Thus, in his spiritual progress, a person must follow the rules of the relations of Light and desire, and then, they will reach their unity, and a person will feel the manifestation of life in their unity (similarity). Thus, in the four-stages (alphabetic) of the distribution of the Light (the Name of the Creator), physics, evolution, and upper governance agree.

In The Middle Between The Creator And The World

Question: Why is it so hard to understand what the connection itself is?

Answer: It is hard for us to perform these actions because we initially relate to them and approach them egoistically. I cannot annul my mind in perceiving the world, in perceiving the group, and in perceiving myself, and start clarifying the situation by using a cold external mind.

First we should understand the reason for our actions and what I am required to do. The Creator wants me to bring about the correction of the world. The world is all the reality that appears before me. This means that I have to relate to it accordingly and to be included with the public, with the people, who at their level of development, are also in exile in Egypt; even if they are not in the final stages, they are in very advanced stages. People are already feeling that they have reached a dead end; they are feeling that it is the end of the world; they have encountered ecological problems, wars, famine, suicide, despair, etc. This is the “exile in Egypt” for them, an exile from the prosperity they knew before and helplessness.

In the past a person used to make changes in his life and find relief in it. Today there is nowhere to turn to; one doesn’t find comfort anywhere. There is no comfort at home and in the family, and nowhere to rest. Children don’t show any hope for something good; at work it is impossible to settle for what one really needs together with others since there is no goodness. The hope to rest when one retires is becoming imaginary, and we cannot be sure that when we grow old we will have food and shelter. People live in uncertainty: All their lives they saved in some fund, but if they ever will get this money back is a big question. And these are only some of the problems.

So when we are approaching the Creator, do we take into account what He wants and not what we want? The Creator wants the correction of the world. Is this how we approach people, taking their desires and worrying about them? I am not sure. Do we go out to the people enough, those who, by the way, feel the exile much more than we do? Are we included in their exile, and their corporeal troubles? Do we gradually turn their troubles into spiritual troubles at our level?

If the Light influences people through us, people will feel good. This is what the part of the world called “Israel” should do, to become “Light unto the nations.” For all those who have no contact with the Light, I have to be the “adaptor,” their envoy. Do I start from that?

The Creator wants to bring them Light and advancement, while I am only the link. I have to take their deficiency and to turn it into a necessity to connect at my level, the necessity for the Reforming Light and to transmit this request upwards, and not my personal desires. This means to bestow.

Do we do that? Do we give enough weight to dissemination in order to absorb the people’s desires? The account begins from the lower degree and not from the middle. The true deficiency is concealed in the world, while we receive our deficiency from the Creator and only have to be part of the whole.

By absorbing the deficiency from people, you have to connect with the friends. Otherwise why do you need this connection? What for? Who is your future bestowal intended for? Without the world there is no way you can reach it. The Creator doesn’t need your bestowal; he doesn’t need any favors from you. You can bring Him contentment if you pass His Light downward, if you manage to convince people that they need to change. Then by the slight change in them, you will increase it and raise it to the Creator, and thus draw the connection from the bottom up. You will grow from smallness up to His high level and will take your place in the middle. Without the connection between the two ends, you are playing with something that is based on nothing but the ego.

Question: So what are we doing wrong? After all, we are trying to bring our message to the world.

Answer: It seems that we are not impressed by the world’s desires enough in order to act by them. Eventually we are only left with a “fictitious” formal impression of the work that is done. Everything turns out the opposite: We want to advance and so we use people as a means, instead of being the means for their advancement and to bring people what the Creator wants to bring them. We are turning everything upside down: Instead of being servants, we are becoming the proprietors of the situation. The Creator depends on us, the nations depend in us, while we look at them standing in the middle.

The point is not the actions, but our inner attitude. The deficiency of the Creator and the deficiency of the world are what should be important for us. It is from these deficiencies that we should stabilize our self-deficiency so that it will lead to the desired result. “Israel” belongs to the level of Bina, and it has nothing of its own. Its upper part is the Keter and the lower part is Malchut. In the middle there is only a cut. So how can the two parts be connected? It is we who have to become this connection and this is our only property.

The Force That Changes The Human

Question: History shows that the development of humanity throughout ten thousand years could not change human nature. What force can help do this?

Answer: There is such a force in nature. When you are trying to become an integral part of nature, you suddenly begin to receive some kind of force, support. This is a law of nature. It is as if nature is moving towards you.

This is not mysticism. In my activities, I am very distant from various mystical explanations. We simply see this. We need to try to be integral in the same way a child who wants to become an adult does; he simply plays as an adult.

What does integral methodology consist of? People get together; at first they listen to a course of integral education, and then they enter the circle of integral development. In the process of development, we begin to practically create from them one common structure.

When people gather together, clarify the internal psychological problems of unity between them, and create one common desire and common thoughts, they suddenly begin to feel some force, a support. This force, the support, is formed in a group, in the collective that practices the methodology of integral connection. With that, we are stimulating a hidden force, which exists in nature, which we, as egoists, individualists, do not notice; we ignore it. However, when we get together, it begins to manifest. This is the force that is capable of changing us.

Shame Worse Than Death

Question: It is written, “I, HaVaYaH, do not change.” What does this symbolize in our work?

Answer: The Light comes from Above, and it is all bestowal. It is good and benevolent, and it created “existence from absence,” something from nothing, a desire that is absolutely controlled by receiving. It only wants to feel good.

Then, the Light begins to develop the desire by putting it through four phases. As a result, it doesn’t feel itself simply as Light, but as the one who receives, who is opposite to the source. This summons shame, a terrible feeling, and it has nothing more than that.

It turns out that receiving is a good thing, and there is nothing wrong in being the opposite, but these two factors together create a feeling in me that I cannot bear. It tears me to pieces, and I am ready to do anything just to not remain in this state even one second longer. I am ready to do anything. Even committing suicide is no problem. The main thing is not to suffer, not to bear this oppositeness.

This is true shame. We don’t know it. We use the word, but we don’t know what it means. In the first part of Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot, in “Introspection,” Baal HaSulam says that shame was prepared for the high souls, and they are the ones that discover it. This is because, in order to do so, one has to feel the Creator, His pure bestowal, and one’s own pure receiving to the fullest. One contradicts the other.

The process that is described here flows from the top down and is called “the four phases of Direct Light.” So, by its influence, the Light leads the created being through his development.

This is the structure of HaVaYaH: the tip of Yod, Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey. This structure is fixed, and it appears this way from the top down.

Until now, the development was done by the Direct Light. From this point onward, it is your turn. However, you feel terrible shame. It simply burns you from the inside, and you can’t bear it. Therefore, from now on, you won’t be able to relax until you balance the shame.

First, you want to escape it, but that doesn’t change anything. Everything remains the same. It isn’t possible to relax, and you have to change yourself, but how can you do that?

The created being simply “goes crazy.” The shame tears him from his place, tears him from his desires, and keeps on pushing him forward to end of the road. He cannot rest until the one who receives and the one who bestows become equal in their bestowal.

Only when we reach Gmar Tikun (the end of correction) will we stop changing. Then, the shame will disappear, and the oppositeness between the Creator and us will disappear.

So, the Creator says “I, HaVaYaH, do not change,” which means only that I brought this process down. However, this is enough to not allow us to rest until Gmar Tikkun.

Only then will we reach harmony and begin changing together with Him, according to Him. The Creator won’t be the first. We will merge with Him into one to such an extent that all the differences in thought, in our desire, and in every other way will disappear. We will start everything together in cooperation.
[74047]
From the 3rd part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 3/30/12, “Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot”

“I Sleep But My Heart Is Awake…”

A person decides what to consider the day and what the night: what is good for him and what is bad. Sometimes, he is given awakening, raising of the spirit, great light, and he understands how wonderful is to enjoy and come closer to spirituality. He calls it day, but in reality, it is light in his egoistic desire. Egoism enjoys, and this is not called spiritual advancement.

Or maybe he feels in the dark, exhausted, but his mind understands that this state is useful for advancement. And although in his desire to enjoy he experiences unpleasant sensations, it is said: “I sleep, but my heart is awake.” The desire to enjoy feels darkness, but the point in the heart—Light. A person understands that this darkness is useful for him, descent precedes ascent, and he needs to prepare even greater desires for this. And the desire comes from darkness.

That is why it all depends on what a person values, what he considers the day and what the night—in his sleeping egoistic heart or in the point in the heart, which is burning and yearning for spirituality.

If a person begins to separate one from the other, then he already has two points, according to which he can aim and direct himself exactly to the goal. One point is his ego. And it is good that egoism does not feel anything good. The darker I feel in my egoism, the greater my desire (Aviut) will be above which the point seeking the goal exists.

The main thing is to separate these two points and all the time hold them correctly against each other, finding out with what I identify myself. Do I choose the direction that leads me to the Creator, although my path lies in the dark, do I consider it good? Then, I can be sure that I move correctly because my egoism is not interested in rushing there, like a thief, running ahead of everybody else and shouting: “Catch the thief!”

My ego does not want darkness, and I rise above ego, above reason, and want my bestowal to be above reception. And this is a good state in which my day and the day of the Creator are the same day.

And if I suffer that I feel bad and have no interest in advancing, it means that I follow my desire to enjoy, my ego. I run there where my egoistic heart, but not the point in the heart, calls me: This is the difference.

We need to try to divide ourselves into two parts: the point in the heart, which faithfully adheres to the goal, to bestowal in any situation, no matter what happens, and the heart itself, which is always eager to receive. Its appetite is growing constantly. Darkness reigns in my heart, and there is a ray of Light in the point in the heart; this means that I directed myself correctly. And I achieve this through the environment, group, external force, which is needed to pull the point in the heart out of the egoistic heart and aim it at the goal.

From the Preparation to the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 4/5/12

The End Of The Slavery In Egypt Is Near

We are nearing the exodus from exile only when we begin to understand that we are in it. “Exile” symbolizes my perception of everything that I receive in my desire to receive as worthless and unimportant. Everything that is in my ego belongs to “Pharaoh,” and I am allowed to receive only what is necessary.

This doesn’t mean that I have to limit myself in every way, like a monk living in the desert. I simply don’t see anything material as very important, and accept it as necessary for my existence. All my life is devoted to achieving love for the Creator, the general attribute of bestowal, through the connection with others.

If a person has such an internal necessity and he is included in the group, he begins to aim himself correctly, which means to hate everything he receives in his ego, trying to be satisfied with what is essential. At the same time Pharaoh bribes him and gives him everything. This means that he builds beautiful cities for his ego, Pithom and Ramses.

He feels that in relation to the intention of in order to bestow in which he wants to be in his thoughts and heart, he is in exile, because he has no powers to bestow. Then he feels that he has complaints towards the Creator, for not helping him come out of exile, which means that He doesn’t let him be the one who bestows.

But in the meantime a person’s desire is very small and he has to go through 400 years in exile. This means that he has to raise his desire until he will really want to bestow.

All our work in the exile in Egypt is in a group in which everyone grows stronger and receives from others the greatness of the goal, the pure bestowal, and the nothingness and meanness of his preset state in which it is impossible to achieve mutual bestowal. From a spiritual point of view, this is very bad.

So a person begins to perceive the term “exile” correctly: exile refers to bestowal, the ability to bestow, and so he really feels that he is in exile in Egypt. Until he reaches a state in which he cannot bear it any more. Then the “ten plagues of Egypt” begin.

A “plague” or blow symbolizes the fact that you are offered different good corporeal things, but in spirituality you receive nothing, and a person feels this as a blow.

He feels the hardening of the heart, and the corporeal desires keep growing. He has no choice. He understands that the egoistic desire will continue to grow and to confuse him by distracting him and drawing his attention to different corporeal goals, different clarification in the group, so that he will overcome the corporeal ego by the contact with the friends. Only from them can he learn to appreciate the way and the goal of creation more, the greatness of the Creator, and the meanness of the egoistic filling.

One can receive all these values only from the society, from the environment. Then, despite the difficulties and the interruptions, he still adheres to the group above his feelings and his mind because only in it does he find protection and salvation. He understands that otherwise he is lost. He understands that only when he looks above the egoistic desire because from the point of view of the ego the situation could be wonderful and bring knowledge and other benefits.

When he interprets the whole situation correctly, he discovers that he is facing Pharaoh. This stems from many reasons, attributes, and attempts that he accumulates for 400 years in exile in Egypt: the four phases he has been through in each of his desires to receive when he raised the yearning for bestowal above it, which is called “faith above reason.”

Going through these four phases is called “the time of preparation.” And when it is about to end, a strong resistance to the ego is revealed, called the ten plagues of Egypt, darkness. These are final clarifications and revelations that really help a person exit the slavery to his ego.

Thanks to them he grows stronger and finally escapes in the dark, at night, feeling them in his desire to receive with one point that leads him, called “Moses.” Thus he raises his ego and achieves redemption.

The Decision Is Made Below

If you perform actions directed toward the goal of creation, you advance with the help of two forces: your own desire and theLight. But if you perform actions that aren’t directed toward the goal of creation, you advance only with the help of one force: your desire. Developing naturally, we fulfill our own needs.

All of reality is essentially desire and the Light. Desire exists within the Light and is constantly changing, more and more. This is the way our natural development is carried out: from a point of energy to matter that becomes increasingly complex, until the present form of life. There are basic elements that create the cyclical system, and there exist connections between them that produce complex materials and even living cells that absorb and discharge all kinds of substances. The cells consist of a new, qualitative connection with the environment because at the still level, the absorption and discharge don’t produce the sensation of life or pain.

Thus, if we want to advance forward, we face a special condition: either to advance under the influence of nature’s force, like a machine, or to create a connection with friends in the group and to build a model that is essentially similar to the Light, the upper force, loveand bestowal. You overcome the heaviness and the problems, and accordingly you receive help from Above. In principle, you don’t activate anything new, but in your wanting to advance to the goal, you add your efforts, and in response to it, you receive extra Light from the state you long for.

In the end, you use the same system that responds to “the addition” from our side. If you want it, go ahead, and if you don’t, then you don’t. The changes don’t come from the Light, but from you: If you invested efforts, showed more desire, then you discover an addition of deficiency on your side, and then you receive a greater illumination. No one Above makes decisions about allocating you a portion of the Light. The Light is at absolute rest, and everything depends only on your need for it. Take advantage of the conditions given to you—and you will receive it.

Live Not In The Past, But In Anticipation Of The Future

Question: How can we ascend anew to the level of connection we had at the Arava Convention? How can we make sure that our work is direct, without any questions?

Answer: Everything depends on our intention, on whether every second, no matter what I may be saying, doing, or hearing, I think about greater closeness, unification, and the creation of a common feeling within where the Creator, the Light, will be clarified.

It’s like a person who has either a great problem or great joy. Suppose that a very pleasant encounter awaits me in the evening such as a dinner with people dear to my heart or some special event. During the day, I have to work, interact with co-workers, and solve problems, but I abide all day in anticipation of what is to come at night. Alongside the problems and concerns that I deal with every minute, I’m absorbed in the thought that in the evening, something wonderful and pleasant awaits me. I have two thoughts!

The same thing happens here. We can be interacting or doing anything. We purposely close off from everyone in order to ensure a maximum possible concentration of intention between us. This intention should be constant. Whatever we are listening to, doing, or saying, we have to constantly feel tension, seek and strive toward the sensation of oneness between us, the connection in which the Creator has to manifest Himself. This is what we need to do.

Secondly, you said that we felt it in our past unification in the desert. I don’t want to remember that; it was in the past. Right now, I want to ascend and feel a completely new next state. I don’t want to return to the past or even think about it. Each time, I stand before something completely new, and this new state will be better and deeper than the past one. This is the only way we should think.

Therefore, don’t try to awaken former feelings within you; they will only cause harm. Don’t live in the past!

Our next actions should be directed toward coming closer practically and at creating a new sensory organ. This should be much stronger, much more evident and clear than what we had in the desert or in other places.

Together with all our friends around the world, we should feel that we are ascending collectively, developing within us a new sense organ and building the conditions for sensing Him. We will feel Him. It is just around the corner, it already exists within us. Only a little bit more, and He will begin to manifest Himself.
