The New World Beyond Selfish Interests

Question: How can I try to feel others, if I only feel myself?
AnswerIf a person discovers that he only feels himself, then that is already a big achievement. Now he has to only understand that with this feeling of himself he will always remain in this world. This perception is called this world.
If a person understands that, then that is already the achievement. When we discover that we only feel ourselves and via that we perceive the rest of what is within us, then that is called the feeling of this world. This is already not a simple state.
Now I need to listen to what is written in the books of Kabbalah, which claim that the spiritual world is found beyond this feeling, external to myself, in others, and think about how to feel others instead of myself.
Everything felt by me now exists only within me and not in reality. Externally are only images, pictures that are depicted in me. And the question that stands before me now is “How can I exit myself? “
For this I am given friends, the group, so that through mutual activities, we will stimulate the Light that will help us exit ourselves outwards to them. This is called the transition outside our “selfish interests.”

Where Can We Get The Power For Internal Changes?

Question: It says that a person has to change himself internally, but where can he get the powers to do so?
Answer: We are not responsible for our internal desires of course, but we can influence them by external actions. This is flattery and a lie of course, but by annulling myself externally, I attain my internal self-annulment.
It is because I am doing this on purpose, wanting it to happen. So my actions are considered a prayer, a request for help, MAN, because I really want to impress myself by them.
This is why it is so helpful to actually humiliate yourself before the friends and this kind of work summons internal changes. A person is afraid to annul himself and to remain mindless and lose his own opinions, to lose his “self,” all his life experience and the perspective of life he has established. If he still thinks this, it is a sign that he hasn’t reached the recognition of his real humility, and hasn’t realized that there is no way he can succeed by himself.
He has not despaired of his own powers and so it is too soon for him to deal with this kind of work. He will have to wait a few more years, until eventually he will realize that nothing helps and all he has to do is to erase everything in him and to receive what his friends have.
He doesn’t know what they have, but he only knows that what the have is exactly what he needs and that he wants to get rid of what is in him.
Then a person begins to see that actually there was nothing in him but a little pride and concern for his ego. In fact all of spirituality, the whole upper level is external to him.

Fine Tuning To The Elusive Frequency Of Happiness

Question: On what does our sensitivity to awakening that is activated from Above depend?
Answer: We are constantly awakened from above, and if you only knew to what intensity! But this manipulation is done at a frequency that we don’t feel, like ultraviolet or infrared radiation.
In order to feel this wavelength, I need to calibrate my hearing via the group. Otherwise I won’t hear anything. If I correctly organize the group, thanks to this, I receive opportunities to listen, to feel the upper influence.
Everything depends on how I awaken and support the friends, how I treat them, and worry that they receive spiritual revelation. We need to help also on the corporeal level, but mainly to raise their spirits, to inspire them about the importance of the goal and the Creator. If I gently worry that everything will be for the other, I myself am impressed from them and advance together with them.
There is no other way to advance, only ”the detour,” the alternate route through the group and not directly.

Why Aren’t We A Good Match For Each Other?

Question: In the course of discussions on integral education questions arise regarding family relations because people are tired of domestic problems and feel that they don’t need families. How can it be explained to a person that he needs a family? What is the benefit of forming this kind of relationship for a person’s development?
Answer: Some time ago people lived very primitively: We didn’t leave our towns, our personal relations as well as sex was primitive-we didn’t demand anything.
Today people change every few years or even more frequently. We are not satisfied with the same old things. If I married a girl that I liked and that really suited me in my twenties, then in my thirties I no longer like that girl. And in my fifties and sixties I no longer like the second woman. What can be done? We feel that our views differ and it’s not anyone’s fault.
This is the turbulent inner evolution we are experiencing today and this is how rapidly we are changing.
For this reason, no one should impose the idea of a long-term marriage on people, especially given today’s life span. A serious incentive system should be invented in a marriage so that people would see a clear benefit to getting married since they have to override the habits, responsibilities, moral and physical mismatch with the partner they spent ten or fifteen years with. How can this be done?
There must exist a higher idea, something higher than our world, some reward that could only be obtained within a marriage.

Embracing While Sobbing Fiercely

Rabash, Shlavey HaSulam (Steps of the Ladder), Article, “The Love of Friends”: And although a person receives some thought and desire that he should leave his self-love, which comes to him by hearing what writers and books say, but this is a very small power, that doesn’t always illuminate this opinion for him, so that he will be able to consider it or use it permanently…
Question: Is the power of Kabbalah books so small?
Answer: Of course. It doesn’t depend on the books but on the person himself, or what we call the “user.” A person will not succeed by himself even if he has the source of the whole Book of Zohar. Nothing will help him, because by himself he has no vessel. His success doesn’t depend on the books but on establishing an attitude to others.
There are two forces active in nature: the desire to enjoy (to receive) and the desire to bestow. The desire to receive is the created being and the desire to bestow is the Creator. The created being is in the desire to receive here in our world. If he wants to be in the Creator’s world, he has to acquire a desire to bestow, which means to switch to the second nature.
In order to do that, two factors must be activated:
1. Connection. In our world a person connects with others in order to reach the second nature.
2. The Light that Reforms. It illuminates only in response to the efforts of a person who wants to connect with others and to acquire the nature of bestowal.
Besides that, we should aspire to bestow upon the Creator, although at the beginning we are not required to have such pure intentions, which will come later on.
So there is the necessary means in our world: the group that enables us to build an “infrastructure” among us, the right relationships, a vessel, albeit still flawed, but that demonstrates our desire to be corrected. Of course we discover that we cannot and don’t want to connect, that we are repelled by one another. We reveal the evil inclination and not the blissful feeling of brotherhood and complete joy. Brotherhood: On the contrary, we have to connect, sobbing fiercely about the extent that we hate one another! Embracing although we shudder with repulsion.
It is very good since by that you discover the shattered vessel. Then you will have the reason for crying and calling for the help of the Light that Reforms. And it comes because you study from the books of Kabbalists and want to go through the states they go through.
Thus we move from the level of the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator. Rabbi Akiva said “Love thy friend as thyself, it is the great rule of the Torah.” But that isn’t the end of the road yet. When you reach the first level of love, you worry about the fear: “Will I manage to love more? Won’t I lose what I have already acquired?” You have to act “from the other side.” After all, there are always two lines in the spiritual work and you are in between. So make sure that your love is accompanied by fear. Evoke the attributes of judgment—it is impossible without them.
Then, when you reach fear, you will acquire the “middle line”—the wholeness called bestowal or faith. This is already the end of the work, the fulfillment of love.

Acquaintance With The Evil Inclination

Everything we see in this reality is a desire to receive. It was created in its original form and we can sense it. We, in fact, are a desire to receive.
However, besides being a desire to receive, we also have an ability to think, our intellect allows us to ascertain if we are within the desire, if we feel the desire. Animals are not able to tell such things. It is solely a human’s privilege.
This is where the difference lies. With the help of my mind, I can detach myself from my desires, analyze, and measure them, and even look at them from the side. So, I am given a chance to be a “psychologist” for others and for myself.
There is life inside my desires, and there is an ability to analyze this life. What do I feel within one particular desire? What’s inside the other desires that I have? How do I transition from one wish to another? What do I do with them?
As I live inside my desire, I can scrutinize my life with the help of my intellect, memory, and ability to analyze. However, do I have a chance to change anything in my life? No, I only can “flow” together with the desires.
That’s what we do in this world, although we think that it’s we who act and make changes by choosing “good” and avoiding “evil” by using our brain. In fact, we are incapable of doing anything with our nature or with our desires.
There is a general interconnection among desires that is called “humankind.” On the other hand, there is a unity among the points in the heart (a system of upper worlds, Malchut of the world of AtzilutShechina).
This unity represents something of a completely different nature. If I happen to receive its spark (a point in the heart), I become able to build up another type of attitude toward my desires.
The system of interconnection among people in this world is meant only to bring troubles and problems to them. As a result, people continually advance. They wish they could change the system and achieve more success in economics, security, life conditions, health, and so forth. Each time, by rising one step higher, people achieve an opposite result. They figure out that their current situation brings them more harm than benefit.
On the other hand, people who reveal unity among points in the heart can enter into a new system, a system of broken worlds and shattered connections. Here, separation and animosity (that is, the evil inclination) manifest themselves to full capacity.
Desires and relationships among people in this realm are not a part of the evil inclination. They are still at an “animate” developmental stage. The evil inclination is something that prevents us from the revelation of the Creator, of the property of bestowal and love.
So, people who reveal the force that confronts the unity of the points in the heart (friends in the group) get to disclose the evil inclination. It shows up only among friends to the degree of their intent to improve their connection. It’s already a revelation of the spiritual force, the first spiritual attainment.
Through enhancing their unity, the friends in the group begin realizing that we know what the evil inclination is. It mandates us to necessitate the correcting force that is inside us and to which we must refer.
All together, we must direct our prayers and requests to the core place of our unity, to the center of the group. Then, due to the “Prayer of Many,” we will receive the force, and It will correct the connection among us. This is how our advancement is being implemented.
The evil force that shows up among us is Pharaoh, the Egyptian king. Depending on the specifics of our perception, it is also called Bilam, Balak, Aman, and so forth. In any case, our only task is to unite. It is said that the commandment, “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” is the great rule of the Torah.
Unity is the only remedy that allows us to go through the various kinds of connections and attain its greatest and most perfect enactment, to reach the level of love. How do we love others? It is “as ourselves.”
This criterion allows us to constantly monitor ourselves. Do I strive to go outside of myself? Kabbalists explain that “as thyself” means more than thyself. I naturally place myself above everyone else. Now, I must favor and elevate others above me. This is how I grow.
In general, everything is being revealed according to the principle, “That which you hate, do not do to your friend,” and, then, transition to “Love thy neighbor as thyself.” This is the entire Torah. So, this explains why we should work in the group, study, and do everything we do for the sake of unity. Otherwise, we won’t advance at all. This is the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The Practice Of Love

Establishing the right mutual relations in the group is the most important thing we need to implement, since the wisdom ofKabbalah is a very practical wisdom. We can use other wisdoms even without understanding them. For example, I sit in the car and I am shown what is around me, which buttons to press and go. This is what actually happens in everything that we do. It is enough to know a few things in order to use different scientific developments. Sometimes all we need is some basic knowledge: For example, get in and sit down and the train or the bus will take you to your destination, although you have no idea how it is done. I move from place to place, eat, drink, and participate in different events knowing nothing about the technical basis of things, just like a newborn baby who is carried in the adults’ arms or pushed in a stroller.
In spirituality, however, it is different. There I can use certain things only if I know and understand them. I have no control over things that I have not attained and have not discovered. I cannot just sit in some “spiritual carriage” and go somewhere. No, I have to know who I am, what this “carriage” is, how it moves, how to operate it, from where to where I should ride it, what is the place I started from like and what is the nature of my final destination, etc. I have to know what is going on, to be in control of the situation and not just “press the buttons.” Only if I can really implement this fully, having mastered everything, can I perform a certain spiritual act. Otherwise, I simply don’t exist in the spiritual world.
Therefore, we have to immediately ask ourselves: Which means enable us to discover, to know and to understand the spiritual reality and to learn how to manage it? Kabbalists explain that everything in our world is prepared for that. It is fully ready only for this mission, so that from here I will learn how to work with the spiritual world, live in it, and fully control it.
From this world I learn about the upper world. The main tool here is to practice love. We can call it the practice of connection, concession, but on the whole it is about love.
Why? Because that’s what it’s all about. Now I love myself, my desire to receive. I enjoy by filling and satisfying it. This I how the Creator made me, He connected the filling with the pleasure. Love of others means that I don’t absorb the pleasure but rather feel it in Him and by that enjoy. This is how a mother also enjoys every spoonful she can put into her baby’s mouth…

A Spark Of Light In A Virtual World

Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 3: “The Matter of Spiritual Attainment:” Since the will to receive is called “creature” and a “new discernment,” the utterance begins precisely from the place where the will to receive begins to receive impressions. The speech is discernments, parts of impressions. For here there is already a correlation between the Light and the will to receive.
Question: What is Light?
Answer: Something special is evoked in you, an exceptional phenomenon, and you call it Light. When it comes, you know that that’s what you call it.
At the moment, however, you don’t have the right vessel to feel this phenomenon. Unless you acquire the spiritual attainment, all your desires are aimed only at your self-benefit: “everything for myself, for my own good, to use others, everything for my own good and against others.” This is more or less the way things work today, and so being in these desires you cannot feel the phenomenon of bestowal, love, cooperation, connection and an aspiration outwards—all the things that are called “Light.” For you it isn’t Light but darkness.
Sometimes it gets dark and bad: You feel helpless and you don’t feel like doing anything; you don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. This is how your desires appear to you without the typical illumination in our world, without the slightest illumination that will light up the darkness in the vessel.
After all, in our meager desires only a tiny glow can show, giving a little bit of life and enjoyment. This spark is so small that it can penetrate even egoistic vessels of receiving. I live in them on the levels of the still, vegetative, animate nature; the whole the human level is above this and I am not part of it.
There are desires to receive and desires to bestow on that level that will be revealed in me one opposite the other. The left line is the evil inclination, the true ego that is revealed to the extent that I want to connect with others and I do so. Then I draw the Light that Reforms and try to acquire the good force and work between the two inclinations in the middle line, which is called Adam (human).
A Spark Of Light In A Virtual World

In the meantime I am on the level of the animate, under the domination of my small ego, receiving only a ” thin candle” in the vessel that is made of the first three levels. From a spiritual point of view, this is not considered life or an existence. So our world is called a virtual world, it is as if it exists below the level of consciousness.

The Common Desire Makes Us Friends

Question: How can I fill the desire of the friends if I don’t understand what they want?
Answer: You do understand what they want because they want the same thing that you want. They want to reach correction, to discover the force that operates in nature. This force is called general nature, and all of creation belongs to it.
So you want what your friend wants. Besides, everyone has different corporeal desires that may be known to us, everyone has his own personal worldly desires that have nothing to do with spirituality. But in terms of the sublime, spiritual desires and goals, you should be clear about what happens with the friend; so try to support him.
The support is to raise the friend’s spirits and give him hope and power and a feeling of elation in attaining the goal. Help him in every way possible. Evoke in him the feeling of how great the goal and the upper are.
Show him how you can humble yourself before the group, since it is only the small that can receive from the group, and so everyone must lower himself before the group in order to receive something from it.
There is a spiritual force in the group that resides among us. The group wasn’t founded by us. It only seems to us that we have gathered by ourselves and formed this group. Of course it isn’t true! The upper force arranges the group for us; so don’t think that we have found one another just by chance. It is all done by the action of the general force that brings us together.
Therefore, we have to understand that on the one hand, there is a hidden force that operates among us, but on the other hand, we have to act according to it in order to gradually approach it and begin to feel it. Then we can start the mutual work among us.
Thus by the changes in us, we gradually begin to approach the revelation of the upper force by taking on its attributes bit by bit. Then we discover these attributes in us and this means that we discover the upper force.

A City That Grows From A Point On The Map

The world of Atzilut expands the vessels. If at first I only had a small discernment. a point, one Sefira, then in the world of Atzilut a whole Partzuf of ten Sefirot is created instead of the one Sefira. This means that we can already separate all the attributes much more than before.
If before I could hardly see the difference between two attributes, since there was one point, now the whole point grows ten times larger and it includes different discernments that are interconnected.
So the world of Atzilut allows me to clarify things and to perform corrections of the world of Nikudim. In the world of Nikudim there are only points—a black point of Malchut that was incorporated in all the Sefirot. Here, however, in the world of Atzilut we don’t work with the same Malchut that is simply incorporated in all the other Sefirot as a black point, but with Malchut that includes the first nine Sefirot and is also included in them.
Thus the common attributes of the first nine Sefirot are created with regard to Malchut, and we can see these on the background of those. Thanks to that, we are able to choose, to clarify, and to understand what is going on.
It is like getting closer to an object, which at first I see as a point. The closer I get, the more I begin to see in a fuller scale what goes on there. Thus a small point on the map can grow into a whole city.
This is exactly how the world of Atzilut operates by helping us see every phenomenon on a large scale.

How Do I Copy The Image Of The Global Soul On Myself?

Mutual incorporation means that everyone is incorporated in others. I restrict my desire, which means the patterns in it, trying to take from and to incorporate in the patterns that are in others. I look and see how everyone around me enjoys different things, while I haven’t felt that all this can be pleasant.
If a person remains indifferent during the lesson, it means that he cannot be incorporated in the desires of others. I see that there are some who are actually burning and some that fall asleep. It all depends on the impression we can receive from one another. This is called mutual incorporation; I try to enter the other and to be impressed by his desires.
In order to do that, I need to first annul myself, like a small child since otherwise I won’t be able to be incorporated in others. I make myself a zero, the black point of Malchut. Now I can enter the other and see what is there inside him. He is impressed by something and I want to be impressed with him. Then I can absorb his thoughts and desires, everything that is in him.
I can reformat my desire, which I have restricted and turned into raw material, and give it a form according to the one that is in another person. It turns out that I copy and paste upon myself everything that is in his soul, and now my soul receives his inner drawing.
I have pasted a copy of his image upon myself, just like you copy data from one computer to another, from one memory to another. In order to do that, I have to nullify myself and to prepare an empty space inside me. Then I have to enter the other and to take the data from him and to transfer it into me, into my “memory.” Thus my “memory” is filled with his data. But in order to do that, my memory must first be empty, and ready to receive new data. This is called mutual incorporation.
What have I attained by that? I had my own desires. and now, in addition to them, I have the desires of someone else. Then I incorporate in the desires of another and then with another. Eventually I will include the whole world inside me. But only if I see myself as lower than everyone else will I be able to include everyone inside me, and by that become wiser than everyone. I grow and become greater than everyone, but it is thanks to the fact that I consider myself inferior to everyone else. That’s the way it works.

Leave Your Ego On The Other Side Of The Machsom

A person comes to the wisdom of Kabbalah with a very personal question about the meaning of his life. He wants to know about himself and what he lives for, what is going on in the world around him, and what he has to do in order to understand what is going on and to manage his fate by himself. It is very hard for a person to connect the answers to these questions, which are so personal and intimate and which come from his most internal point, with others.
It seems that one thing contradicts the other: On the one hand, there is my internal point in which I want to discover the secret of my life, and on the other hand, there is society and all of humanity.
I could accept the idea that I need to connect with nature, but it is hard to accept the fact that in order to do that I have to connect with some group of people and to be so strongly connected to them, a connection that I cannot bear, to feel that they are the dearest, closest, most beloved people to me.
I have to work on this above my feelings and my mind, above all my previous patterns. Of course, it seems very distant and unclear, but we must understand that it is thanks to this that the entrance to the spiritual world is revealed to me—it is through the love of others that is so distant, hateful, and opposite to everything that I want.
For me there is nothing more unpleasant and repulsive than the need to connect with others above my desire, to serve them, and at the same time, to know that all the reward will go to them and not to me, that they will have everything. I and my heart will also be with them! Here, where I am, there will only be my empty ego.
It is very hard to understand this, but by studying and working on ourselves we gradually begin to perceive this principle. There is an inner logic that is concealed in the one thing that is most hateful, distant, and senseless in our world, and this is what represents the spiritual world for us. Through it, through the opening that suddenly appears in the wall, we can go through the Machsom (barrier) that separates the spiritual world from this world.

Ascending To The Intention

Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 42, “What Is that the Acronym Elul in the Work”: For this reason one is given a form of blackness from Above, and then one sees if one’s work is in purity.
In other words, if one can be in gladness in a state of blackness, too, it is a sign that one’s work is in purity, because one must be glad and believe that from Above he was given a chance to be able to work in order to bestow.
If a person feels glad, above all his moods, it is a sign that he is already detached from his desire to receive and that he can advance.
This is always the test: Are we immersed in our desire to receive or can we rise above it to some extent? A person doesn’t ask to be in a good mood in order to continue his work. On the contrary, he is happy about the darkness, about the bad mood and the confusion. Above all this, he is ready to make a slight effort.
It doesn’t matter what mood we are in, we don’t see it as important, but rise above it. If things look bad in the vessel of receiving, I can work above it in bestowal, in unity and inlove of friends. It is a sure sign that I am on the right track. All our work is in feeling the darkness in the vessel of receiving and making even the slightest effort above it, yearning for a connection, for bestowal.
This is why we have to perform the right exercises, to play games by which we learn. Of course, it isn’t easy for a new student during the first few years, but then he begins to feel the gap between his feeling and his intention, which means between two different systems.
He may feel good and then he may feel bad, and he understands that it doesn’t matter, that he should work only above these feelings and that time after time they will provide him with different details of the perception of reality that are necessary on the way to learning about the different forms of the Creator’s Providence. A person accepts all the feelings—the good and the bad ones—as a benefit, in order to rise above them and constantly keep the right direction towards the goal.
We have to constantly make these efforts as we try to preserve the energy of the ascent that enables us to use the time and the means we have rationally, so that we can also use it during a descent. True, it is very hard, but at least we have to try. Thus we gradually detach ourselves from the vessel of receiving and move on to another kind of work, already living in the intention and not in the feeling.

Not In Words But In Deed…

Question: If I sincerely answer the question “What do I want?” then the answer that comes up in my heart is “to feel good.” I try to change this desire through the mind and say that I want to bring contentment to the Creator, but in the next lesson my real desire is once again to feel good. How can I exit this feeling? How can I reach the true spiritual desire?
Answer: If a person remembers that he has to say: “I want to bring contentment to the Creator” since otherwise he will not succeed, it will not help. The Creator does not enjoy it if I’m just saying that I want to bring Him contentment.
I can only bring contentment to the Creator by actions and not by empty words, by the act of connection. Thus I bring contentment to the Creator by revealing Him. I can only reveal Him only in our collective vessel in which we are all united. But in order to connect with others, I have to exit myself and to try to connect with them. By that I bring the Creator contentment, because then He can be revealed.
This whole system of mutual bestowal can be revealed and this is called the revelation of the Creator to the created being. This is called bringing contentment to the Creator. I don’t do it by words, but by actions, by giving Him a place to be revealed.

The Final Game Before Entering The Spiritual World

Question: During our acting workshop, I still have the feeling that this is not serious. It is clear to my ego that it is all a game. How can I really be incorporated in this game?
Answer: Look for the answer yourself and try to examine and to understand yourself better. Don’t expect any tips from me; the answer will come only as a result of your efforts. Thus you will gradually begin to know what needs to be clarified by your actions. With every action you take, you will become wiser, as it is said: “There is none wiser than the experienced.”
Eventually the light-headedness will turn into a serious attitude. Later you will realize that it isn’t a game, but actual training.
Let’s say I’m training for an important marathon, intending to participate in the Olympic games. In the meantime we hold pre-Olympic competitions in our country. These are not the real games but only pre-Olympic games. However, if I don’t go through these games, I will not go anywhere! If I don’t achieve good results in these games, I will not be able to participate in the Olympics.
This is not accurate, but it is still an example of what we are doing now. For us, however, the game and the performance are the same thing! When we come closer to the actual fulfillment, we will suddenly see that what we thought to be a simple game was all real.
With this game, we draw the Light that Reforms. This is called from Lo Lishma (not for Her name) we reach Lishma (for Her name). The meaning of Lo Lishma is that I don’t deserve the Light, but still it comes to me thanks to my participation in the game. This participation is not only my actual actions, but the fact that I feel that it is a serious means.
My actions draw the Light, and I do everything in my power, seriously, so that the Light will impress me. Otherwise it will not function.
Question: So I have to fight against what stops me from being seriously incorporated in this game?
Answer: This is your real evil inclination, which confuses you: “Never mind, don’t try, it is only a game.” This is where the real snake hides—see how cunningly it operates.
I sincerely wish you victory in this game!

A Simple Work On The Main Thing

We do not have to correct our current desires on the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature directly. As Baal HaSulamsays, they accompany the ascent of the level of the speaking and are corrected with it.
Question: What do we have to do now, during the preparation period when the level of the speaking has not been revealed to us yet?
Answer: The work during the preparation period is very simple—a connection to the greatness of the goal. This is called “Israel, the Creator, and the Torah are one.” I connect with the friends and together we work on the recognition of the greatness of the goal. In order to do that, we need the study, dissemination, and everything that we do in general, and that’s it. What’s important is to connect in order to attain what we believe to be the upper goal and that’s all.
What is more, the goal is not external to us, but within the connection between us. So we are constantly working on the quality of the connection so that it will be as pure as possible.
During this process we discover many facets of our ego, but only in spirituality will we truly know it. It isn’t by chance that Rabbi Shimon’s students feel hatred towards one another, the kind of hatred that doesn’t exist here. I don’t think about how I can harm or kill the friend all day, but actually, it is on these kind of thoughts my ego “fixates,” and I cannot get them out of my head.
Now, however, I encounter minor interruptions: I don’t want to keep in contact with the friends, I don’t love them, I don’t want to connect with them, I don’t get the importance of the unity in the group. It seems that I can still wait: “Tomorrow everything may work out and we will connect and will remember the greatness of the goal…” This is our current ego.
Question: What do we mean by the term “connection” when it comes to the general public?
Answer: For them it is only one thing: If we connect nicely with one another, we will get rid of the crisis and return to the good and comfortable life we had. There is no other choice, since nature itself obligates us to do so.
As Baal HaSulam says, we are one family, so we simply must be connected.
