Holidays From The Perspective Of Kabbalah

laitman_572.02Question: What does a holiday mean from the perspective of Kabbalah?
Answer: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there are various levels of the Light that come down upon us. Their intensity determines a special state called a holiday.
“Holiday” in Hebrew is called “Hag” from the word “Mehuga” (arrow), which constantly turns, repeating its circles. In other words, a holiday is something that repeats from year to year. However, it repeats in such a way that at that time a certain Light comes down and brings everyone under it into a special state.
Thus, in the spiritual world, you may exist in the state of “New Year” while I am in the state of “Pesach” (Passover). In addition, one does not interfere with the other. For you, it is one state; for me, it is a different one. Everyone has his own time and his own levels.

Spreading Kabbalah: The Fuel For Correction

laitman_276.06From the time of the Ari and onward, the wisdom of Kabbalahwas permitted to be spread among all the nations of the world. After all, the world entered the era of the Mashiach (Messiah), and therefore any spread of the knowledge of Kabbalah is to the benefit of correcting the world.
And before that, there was a prohibition on the spread of Kabbalah, as it accelerated the development of the world, which was detrimental to the people of Israel. It turned out that egoistic forces accelerate their development, outstripping the development of the forces of bestowal, that is, Israel. 1
The prophet Yeshayahu (Isaiah) said that the nations of the world will carry the sons of Israel on their shoulders to the Temple, that is, toward the end of correction, to complete adhesion between the Creator and creations. To ascend the mountain of the Creator is hard work, which is beyond the abilities of the people of Israel—light desires, desires for bestowal. Therefore, the spread of the wisdom of Kabbalah among the nations of the world is so necessary—it is the engine that will push the entire correction upward to the Mashiach2
From the 3rd part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 4/16/18Writing of Baal HaSulam, “Messiah’s Shofar

Forming Qualities Like The Creator’s

laitman_259.01There is no Creator without creation. If there is no creation, then there is no concept of “Creator” at all—there is abstract upper Light in and of itself, called “Atzmuto” (His Essence). The Creator begins where there is already a certain desire in which, according to its properties, the upper Light can be revealed. Then the concept of the Creator and creation appears.
There is no creation without the Creator and there is no Creator without creation. That is, the upper force only has the form that a person prepares for it, as it is written, “You have made Me” and “My sons have defeated Me.” Our entire work is to prepare a special place for the revelation of the Creator, and it is realized in the ten. To the extent we can connect with each other, in the measure of our unity, we will attract the Light that reforms, which will improve our relations.
The Creator conveys Himself to the creations and helps them in everything so that they will discover Him more and more. The Creator reveals Himself in the ten to the extent we unite our forces and their level. This requires work to overcome, as well as the creation of special forms and qualities that correspond to the Creator.
The creation assumes the properties that the Creator possesses and tries to reproduce them, and the Creator shows the creation whether the creation’s assumptions were correct or not. This is how He teaches us the art of building the forms of creation similar to the Creator, that is, constructing a “human” (“Adam“).
There is no more exalted and interesting work than the disclosure of the Creator in the ten. It captures absolutely everyone, and it is impossible to remain indifferent. After all, we look forward to how we will build and discover the Creator, who will manifest Himself in the measure of our efforts and fill us. 1
The upper Light creates within a desire to enjoy all forms from the beginning to the end, and then disappears to enable us to repeat these actions, and thus study the whole process that we must go through in order to become like the Creator. Similar to a sculptor who creates a sculpture from a piece of marble, we sculpt the Creator from our desire so that it acquires the form of bestowal, and darkness shines like Light.
The forms themselves are not needed, but from them we learn who the Creator is, to whom we are going to become similar. In principle, this was the purpose of creation, and everything else was only the means to bring the creation to the Creator’s level.
Any action in one’s personal life and in the life of the group is meant only to reveal within us the wholeness of the Creator; everything is directed toward the end of correction and moves us toward one goal. And to what extent we will participate in it already depends on us. 2
To the extent that the creation succeeds in awakening the Creator, we feel ourselves as existing, understanding, and sensing. This is the whole meaning of creation. The living body differs from the dead one in that it attains something by itself. That is, everything must be preceded by one’s desire.
The general desire to enjoy is created by the Creator, and its filling, its satisfaction, is also in the Creator’s hands. But to connect the desire with the filling is our task.
Who is a human being? It is one who understands, is aware, prays, and applies efforts to connect the desire with the fulfillment. Why do I want to tie them together? In order to become similar to the upper one, my Creator. For this purpose, I have been given these two forces. On one hand, the desire, and on the other hand, the power of Light. In this work, the creation manifests its desire to resemble the Creator and thus proclaims that “There is none else beside Him.” 3

Religion—The Imaginary “Spiritual Sphere”

Laitman_088Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation: However, according to man’s merit, who consists in intellectual preparation, he continued to develop through deeds and suffering, and assumed religion, politics and justice, and finally became civilized.
What does religion mean? It is when a person creates a spiritual world in his egoistic desire, not because of his birth into spirituality, but within himself, within his egoism.
Religion is the reflection of that “spiritual sphere,” which he imagines for himself: angels with wings, the Creator sitting on a cloud, heaven, hell, and so forth. All of this is created inside egoism, for its own benefit.
Indeed, this entire development was placed solely on the shoulders of the better part of society, and the masses followed them like a herd.
Without a doubt, all sciences, arts, education, and religions were established and introduced to the masses so that people would follow qualitative minority like a herd. But even this “head” of humanity is still an egoistic part, which developed  a system of control, achievement, and religious movements for its own benefit, so they could experience maximum comfort in every period of time.
When the masses opened their eyes to take their fate into their hands, they had to revoke all the corrections and laws of the assertive, being religion, justice, and politics. This is because these were only according to the spirit of the assertive, according to their development and for their own good.
Question: In other words, at some point there was a protest from the masses?
Answer: It depends on where and how. Of course there were some serious attempts at uprising, for example, in Christianity: Calvinism, Lutheranism, and other religious movements. In the Christian and Muslim religions there was a serious departure from the initial true aspects of their religions. Then they once again fell into an ever-growing egoism.
The same thing happened in Judaism, which was initially developing under the influence of the altruistic part, Kabbalah, completely detached from the material condition. But then everything died out.
During the time of the Second Temple, the Jews fell completely back into egoism, into mutual hatred, and since that time that is how we exist. We even forgot that at one time we lived by the law of love, and now we dwell in hatred, like in ordinary life. Naturally, we experience ourselves as normal people, even righteous, completely unaware that we are in the purest egoism.

What Do Dreams Mean?

627.2Question: What do dreams mean?
Answer: I heard from Rabash and see it myself from the system of governance that dreams in our world are no more than a consequence of things experienced during the day.
Sometimes, there are prophetic dreams and a person sees something in the future. I also have had such states. This happens because we disconnect from our egoism and rise to the next level where everything already exists: the past, the present and the future. We connect to a flow of information where time does not exist.
Therefore, there are people with increased sensitivity who can really predict the future. There is no need to be a Kabbalist for this.
Question: How can one see the future if everything depends on a person? Does it already exist?
Answer: It exists no matter what a person does. A person changes the future, but it is already prepared.
Question: If we are talking about the end of an action, do we mean the very last action of correction?
Answer: We mean the very last action from what must happen now, according to the plan.
Question: There even is a principle: “We were like unto them that dream.” What is this about?
Answer: When we return to the state of complete correction, we are acting as if in a dream. We cannot imagine how much the upper Light completely controls us.
“We were like unto them that dream” is a phrase from King David’s Psalms. Everything written in Psalms is absolute Kabbalah.

New Life #975 – Humanity’s Next Developmental Level

New Life #975 – Humanity’s Next Developmental Level
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
On the next developmental level, spiritual people will live above the limitations of time, space, and motion. Humans will finally find happiness, fulfillment, and perfect satisfaction through the acquisition of a new desire for love and pure giving. This new world will not have limits as we do now. Currently, we are not happy despite endless technological advances and having everything that we could ever want. Nature has programmed our development from having an animalistic nature to embracing the intention to give, according to the original thought of creation.

Happy Pills

laitman_552.03In the News (New York Magazine): “Do modern realities merit an increased dependence on Xanax? Steven Hayes, a clinical psychologist at the University of Nevada, believes that benzos stop a gap that evolution has yet to fill. As humans try to control an exponentially growing number of inputs with which they are confronted, ‘our attention becomes less flexible, our minds become more chattering, and the next thing we know, we’re frantic.’
Humans are ill-equipped to process or accommodate all these new signals. ‘Our task now is to create modern minds for the modern world, and that modern mind has to be psychologically flexible.’ In the absence of that flexibility, Hayes says, people need a bridge—a pill—between what life doles out and what people can realistically handle.”
My Comment: The world is developing too quickly and people are simply unable to adapt, unable to cope with all of its challenges. Therefore, advances in modern pharmacology come to help.
When taking a course of typical antidepressants, one must wait two to three weeks before starting to feel any effect. With Xanax, it’s much simpler: get nervous, take a pill, calm down. The drug is similar to a cup of coffee and doesn’t even cost that much.
Xanax disconnects a person from the problem. If life has him by the throat, then of course, this is a blessing for him. This will work until he realizes that he needs to attain the truth. Only then will he reject these “sleep-inducing” methods. He will throw Xanax away and pick up a book on Kabbalah.

Can The Wisdom Of Kabbalah Save A Person From Depression?

Laitman_092Question: Can the power of the Light that is inherent in the wisdom of Kabbalah save me from depression?
Answer: If your depression exists physiologically, as a result of a shortage of certain chemical substances, then you need the addition of these chemicals. Today, this is a widespread phenomenon.
But if the depression comes from an inner imbalance, then I am sure that it will be filled by the wisdom of Kabbalah. A person moves to a new system of balance. He begins to balance the positive and negative systems.
He requires a proper environment that supports him and a teacher who explains how it is possible to attain the proper mixture of positive and negative characteristics. It is up to him to listen to the teacher and try to implement his recommendations.
The method of Kabbalah elevates a person above all the problems. But the wisdom of Kabbalah emphasizes that the problems will exist anyway, and new problems will begin to appear so that the person will balance them through the right line.
Question: Does it follow that this problem is basically psychological?
Answer: All problems are psychological. If a person constantly receives for himself, then, in principle, he is limited and cannot enjoy.
Question: The wisdom of Kabbalah offers a new formula for pleasure, which is bestowal. If I constantly think about others and bestow, will I be happy then?
Answer: The state of pleasure from bestowal still has to be achieved. But if you have such an opportunity, then your happiness will truly be limitless, you can bestow as much as you want and at the same time enjoy it. In this case, the perception of happiness itself is correct; it is like a mother who wants to give everything to her child.
If a person is in the right group, then through mutual bestowal to each other they not only begin to feel happiness and spiritual ascent, but they also discover that the Creator is among them.

New Life #974 – Does Man Control Nature?

New Life #974 – Does Man Control Nature?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
Man does not conquer nature, but rather, is part of nature. Nature allows man to learn from it and develops his intellect and emotion. Nature allows us to build all sorts of things so that we can come to the existential question: I have everything, but what is the purpose of my life? Our ego develops so that in the end we will have a new desire for influence and love.

Entering The Spiritual World Is A Process

laitman_284.03The exodus from Egypt is only an exit, and not an entrance.Entrance into the spiritual world occurs as a result of the crossing of the Red Sea, accepting mutual guarantee, receiving the Torah, and the breaking of the golden calf. It is an entire process.
Freedom comes only after receiving the Torah, breaking the golden calf, and entering the desert, in other words, the beginning of the revelation of the levels of Bina. Bina is called “freedom.” The entire process, taking place in the Sinai Desert, symbolizes the achievement of freedom. We rise higher and higher above our desire to receive pleasure and by doing so, gain freedom from the angel of death.

Arrive Before Him

laitman_260Everything has its own time, but Israel accelerates time. So I want to get ahead of the Creator and arrive first at our meeting. That’s why I’m in such a hurry. Everything is already drawn up and set, but I do not break the rules of the Creator’s program—I only want to arrive before Him. It is specifically by our attempt to accelerate time that we show our aspiration and love.

Belonging To One System

laitman_267.02We are already beginning to feel that our world hit a dead end and is in crisis. The reason is that nature is pushing us toward greater unity and connection in one system, toward mutual interdependence of all people, societies, and governments.
In the last 50 to 60 years humanity has built a myriad of international systems, transcontinental corporations, which suddenly and quickly grew to encompass the entire world, rising above governments and borders in their activities and interests.
But at the same time, politicians and people are becoming ever more egoistic and incapable of cooperation, unwilling to see themselves as a single unit, a whole. The outcome is that the world descends into a very complex crisis, one that has never before existed.
On one hand, nature, through financial and manufacturing systems, locks us into a single system, into an integrated world. But we refuse to be integrated; each nation feels that it is unique, independent, and doesn’t want to rely on anyone else.
At this juncture erupts a tremendous crisis to which no solution is found. The world enters a global resistance. Baal HaSulam writes that there is no choice other than realizing that in everything, it is only human egoism that is to blame, but we are still obligated to achieve unity.
Egoism hinders us, but we need to rise above it, as the methodology of Kabbalah teaches us. If we use this methodology, then we will advance. Otherwise, we will involve ourselves in a very long path of suffering.
America feels this crisis much more powerfully than other countries. That’s why the goal of the upcoming Kabbalah convention in New Jersey, which will take place in May, is to enable us to actually feel ourselves not as separated by distant continents, but as belonging to one system which is above geography, history, and different languages, in other words, belonging to one body, one soul.

Breaking Israel News: “Why Kabbalists Are Celebrating Israel’s 70th Anniversary“

The largest portal Breaking Israel News published my new article “Why Kabbalists Are Celebrating Israel’s 70th Anniversary“:

“Out of the darkness came forth light, and out of concealment came forth and revealed the deep. One came out of the other. Out of good came forth bad, and out of mercy came forth judgment. Everything is included in one another, the good inclination and the bad inclination, right and left, Israel and the rest of the nations, white and black. Everything depends on one another.”
 The Zohar, Kedoshim, 7-8.
Kabbalists are adding to the celebration of Israel’s 70 years of Statehood an additional reason to celebrate: that in the State of Israel, a major spiritual resurgence is starting to take shape after 2,000 years of spiritual exile.
Darkness and light, descents and ascents, exile and glory, are all characteristic of the people of Israel, ancient and modern. We have enjoyed states of blossoming unity and brotherly love at the time of the First and Second Temples. We have endured states of bitter defeat, where unfounded hatred breached our unity, allowing the Roman Empire to take advantage of our disunity and bring about the ruin of the Temple.
In exile, even while detached and dispersed around the world, we found ways to prosper and develop the countries we settled in, making our mark in education, economics, science, technology, law, and society. However, while doing so, since there is a seeded expectation in humanity’s subconscious upon the people of Israel to bring a completely different kind of prosperity and growth than the materialistic version we’ve brought till now, then we’ve been plagued with the constant phenomenon of anti-Semitism: from slander and blood libel to the devastating pogroms and the Holocaust.
After the utter horror millions of our ancestors experienced in the Holocaust, the world had mercy on us and supported the establishment of our new national home: the State of Israel. However, not even a single day passed of relishing our independence, and we were once again at war to hold onto what we were given.
70 years have passed. Wars and instability with our every neighboring nation have spurred our development of a well-equipped army and what has been ranked as the world’s mightiest air force. Struggles to build infrastructure and develop exports on a land that provides little natural resources has catalyzed our becoming one of the most technologically advanced nations.
All that remains is to rekindle the national love that is dwindling, to revive the national essence that has been inactive for 2,000 years, to reawaken ourselves to unity and illuminate the light that humanity subconsciously expects from us.
Therefore, I’m very happy that on Israel’s 70 years of independence, we have been given a golden opportunity to proudly carry the wisdom of truth and publicize it. After 2,000 years of ups and downs, light and darkness, glory and exile, the veil has been lifted over the wisdom of Israel—the wisdom of Kabbalah—and we are becoming ripe to start using it to realize our true role in the world: to achieve “love your friend as yourself” and “each shall help his friend” in order to become “a light unto nations.”
As with a fruit’s development, our external skin has been getting tougher, yet the sweet inner part is still hidden within. The time has come to learn how we can peel off this skin and expose the sweet, inner part of Israel to the world.
The annual shift from Yom HaZikaron, the day we pay homage to Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism, to Independence Day, when we celebrate the establishment of the State of Israel, is symbolic of the way we can only experience a rise after a preceding fall. The people of Israel experience darkness and light adjacently, and we gain discernments from these combined states. Our remembrance and our independence are as one, in the morning we mourn and in the evening we cheer. “And there was evening and there was morning, one day” (Genesis 1:5).

Answers To Your Questions, Part 224

laitman_565.02Question: Do the friends in the World Kli influence the world and change it for the better by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah even though they have not yet ascended to the first level?
Answer: It is said that any good contact with the wisdom of Kabbalah by every person in the world has a positive effect on the entire world since everyone is a part of the system of Adam.
Question: Can the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah be dangerous for the learner and those close to him? For example, if a person studies alone.
Answer: A person must be mentally healthy, study within a physical or virtual group, and be in permanent contact with everyone—success and patience!
Question: The “point in the heart” has grown, but is now “closed.” I have lost a sense of happiness. Nothing helps. What should I do?
Answer: This is exactly the way the seven years of famine begin. It is a compulsory expulsion from egoism. Then, one enters the upper world to do what is pleasing for the Creator, not the ego!

New Life #973 – Education Toward Healthy Competition

New Life #973 – Education Toward Healthy Competition
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
Competition can work in everyone’s favor when used in the right way. When we aim to be the most gentle and courteous person so that others will feel comfortable being beside us, we show a good example of how to have a positive relationship. Everyone should think about how they can give to others in their own special way. Eventually, “habit becomes second nature” and we correct our egoistic nature altogether. When children see these types of relationships modeled for them, they are positively influenced. Remember that you are always within a higher force and failure comes from this force to help you to correct yourself. Nature will ultimately force us to develop a perfect connection between us but it’s better to educate ourselves in advance.

“Privacy In The New Digital Era: What Have We Got To Hide?”

Medium published my new article “Privacy in the New Digital Era: What Have We Got To Hide?

“Mr.Zuckerberg,” asked senator Dick Durbin, regarding the way the Facebook CEO perceives his privacy, “Would you be comfortable sharing with us the name of the hotel you stayed in last night?”
“Um…” Zuckerberg took his time to answer as dozens of TV and newspaper cameras watched on. “No.” said the young man in the suit and tie. The crowd chuckled awkwardly as he answered the surprising question.
“If you’ve messaged anybody this week, would you share with us the names of the people you’ve messaged?” Durbin continued to inquire.
“Senator, no, I would probably not choose to do that publicly here,” Zuckerberg said, more avidly than before. But Senator Durbin, like many of his colleagues, did not seem satisfied; even as Zuckerberg’s baby face looked back at them with a humbled look.
For over six hours, Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, testified before the Senate in Washington. Zuckerberg had to explain how the private information of 87 million users had reached the hands of Cambridge Analytica, a data mining company.
In fact, what was being interrogated on that stand was not Facebook, nor its CEO, but the very right to privacy. In an advanced technological world, with an open and increasingly interconnected virtual space, is there any room left for privacy in our lives?
My answer is: almost none. Internet users might fight for it, but the future trend shows that there really isn’t that much to hide.
Laws should indeed be legislated to limit the ability of big monopolies to trade our information and trample our rights. But that is not the main point. Human society is marching into a new age where we’ll all know everything about everyone — from the most basic information that any minor computer geek can easily track, to the most supposedly embarrassing deeds we try to hide from the eyes of our neighbors and colleagues.
We are about to experience a major transformation of what we feel ashamed about, a new era where everything becomes disclosed. It will soon become clear that we are all made of the same material.

Overcoming the Façade of Righteousness and Seeing Ourselves as We Are
A short glance at the leaders of our world today and their public image, reveals the naked truth: President Clinton had extramarital sexual affairs, President Trump is now faced with accusations of cheating on his wife with porn stars, the former prime minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi boasted about his orgiastic “bunga bunga” parties, stories of Libya’s former dictator, Kaddafi’s passion parties abound, as do a myriad of other rumors of different public personas.
Public personas and officials are no different to anyone else. Their official role does not make them immune to the natural drives and impulses inherent to every man and woman in the world. Every man — from small to great, from worker to leader, from elderly to youth — is driven by desires to enjoy food, sex and family. Regarding these desires, we are no different than any other animal. Therefore, there is no reason to become perplexed about the information revealed about us in social media, it reveals nothing new about our true nature.
If anyone does have a problem with your nature, with your preferences and inclinations, your passions and behaviors, your character and your thoughts, then you can answer them with a line from the Jewish sages: “Go to the craftsman who made me and say to him, ‘How ugly is the vessel which you have made’” (Talmud, Taanit 20a–b).
When we’ll realize we are all made of the same material, each with a different shade and color of desire, privacy will then become a thing of the past. When that happens, we can then delve deeper into what makes us human.
So what does make us human?
We are made up of two levels, the physical-bodily level and the human-spiritual level. On the first level, every person needs to satisfy their corporeal desires. This is all well and good, on condition that no harm is done to anyone in the process. On the second level, there is our internal essence, which is what we need for true, heartfelt connection to others.

This second level is hidden from us. It is the deep level of relationships with others, a spiritual level that is not experienced in our first-level corporeal ties. It is called “the human” in us, as Kabbalists refer to it, and to grasp it further, one needs to consciously evolve.
Since the second level is hidden from us, it is intangible and we cannot feel it. We mistakenly equate our “human” spiritual self to our physical human body. As a result, we create social norms and moral values that limit the use of the human body, i.e., the fulfillment of desires on the first level.
Precisely at this point is where the media enters to take advantage of the way we limit ourselves. The media thrives on celebrating our lack of connection to our inner essence. To continue making money, the media deludes us day and night, producing extravagant shows out of our natural impulses. The media dramatizes behaviors and actions that derive from our instinctive basic drives, instead of reminding us that it is our real nature, and theirs. And so we are gradually brainwashed by a fake value system, praising or reprimanding others for the natural drives they were born with.
A correct version of the media would engage itself in creating positive human connections, “to connect people, to build community and to bring the world closer together,’ as Zuckerberg testified before the US Congress and the world. The media needs to help elevate us to the second, hidden level; to create a new set of values based not on our bodies and natural impulses, but a set of values aimed at attaining our essence, to strengthen our contribution to society and to encourage good relationships.
Humans are Wired for Connection
The public’s victory in the struggle for privacy will be possible when we begin to develop our “inner human,” and connect meaningfully and positively to others. It is through mutual relations that we will discover nature’s hidden force — a force binding us on all levels, and which is increasingly pressuring us to wake up and face our connection to each other. By attaining such a mutual sensation of nature’s higher force, we will lift the veil of smoke covering what we deem as private and shameful, and this “mystery” surrounding the virtual world will be gone.
The media, with Facebook as one of its current leading players, has the ability to create positive trends that will inspire and elevate humanity to greater connection. They have the power to set the social tone and create a new culture, to sharpen the social perception of reality into a healthy perception of human nature, and to aid every person in adopting new understandings about his or her physical and spiritual drives.

When meaningful content flows in the veins of social networks, no one will be ashamed or afraid of exposure any longer. The more we identify with our spiritual level that is disconnected from any physical need, the more we will be able to be calm about such incidences as this privacy leak of tens of millions of users. We will know how to put our self in the right perspective, the physical and the spiritual. In such a social climate the only shame that will afflict man will be when one takes a hard look at oneself and considers: “Have I invested enough in creating positive relations? Have I contributed to positive connection in society? Have I been considerate of others, the way a ‘human’ should?”

An Economist’s Depression

Laitman_514.02In the News (Project Syndicate): A Nobel Prize laureate in economics, Joseph Stiglitz, writes:
“I’ve been attending the World Economic Forum’s annual conference in Davos, Switzerland – where the so-called global elite convenes to discuss the world’s problems – since 1995. Never have I come away more dispirited than I have this year. …
“The CEOs of Davos were euphoric this year about the return to growth, strong profits, and soaring executive compensation. Economists reminded them that this growth is not sustainable, and has never been inclusive; but such arguments have little impact in a world where materialism is king.
“So forget the platitudes about values that CEOs recite in the opening paragraphs of their speeches. They may lack the candor of Michael Douglas’s character in the 1987 movie Wall Street, but the message hasn’t changed: ‘Greed is good.’ What depresses me is that, though the message is obviously false, so many in power believe it to be true.”
My Comment: Contrary to Joseph Stiglitz, I do not feel depressed because I understand humanity’s egoism and from the start do not expect any good deeds from the economic elite. Moreover, I would wish them luck. Because the more they descend into their own greed, the quicker the world will see the truth and will finally become mature enough to apply the wisdom of Kabbalah.
The wisdom of Kabbalah says that we need to unite and demand the realization of the methodology for the correction of the world from the people of Israel. Even in ancient times the Egyptian Pharaoh understood that the Jews were running from him to true unity, to the ascent above egoism. This has to be understood by the nations today even more clearly.
The essence of the wisdom of Kabbalistic methodology, inherent in the people of Israel, is such: connect with one another to such an extent that egoism will no longer separate us or disturb us. Demonstrating this possibility to all, the Jews will fulfill that which the world awaits from them, even if unconsciously.
Having found themselves at a dead end, people will feel this. Humanity will begin to become aware that the solution to the problem is hidden in the people of Israel.
And everything else depends on how capable the people of Israel are of realizing the idea of unity within itself—then showing and presenting it to the world.
Today, the Jews are hated, without a clear understanding as to why. Instead of an inherent cause, reasons and excuses are offered for this hatred. Therefore, this hatred requires a correct orientation in consciousness so that everyone together gets down to business: on the one hand, those who aspire toward internal correction—the “people of Israel,” on the other hand, all others.
In reality, these two parts together solve one mutual problem. It is simply necessary to begin with someone and that’s why unity begins with those who are already ripe for it. And then, on a voluntary basis, based on desire, by way of positive example, wider circles connect to them.
In this manner, it is entirely unnecessary to drive the Jews out of their land; it’s not necessary to kill them. It is necessary to motivate them to create a strong, interwoven society, spreading the upper Light to the entire world.

Without Knowing The Past, We Will Not Attain The Future

laitman_243.07Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation, “Introduction to the Writings of the Last Generation”: Man’s advantage over it is that the spirit of man ascends into the past, and looks into the past as one looks in the mirror and sees one’s flaws so as to correct them. Similarly, the mind sees what it has been through, and corrects its future conducts.
“The spirit of man ascends into the past”—to that force that has created him.
First of all, a person wants to know: “Where did I come from?” And then: “Where am I headed to?” But he cannot ask, “Where am I going to?” If he does not know his beginning, he will not know his end. That is why he looks to the past, wanting to reach the source, the Light, that has created him. Because the question “Who am I?” is a question about the source of man: “Who created me, who controls me, who decides?” And if he becomes aware of the source and studies it, then he attains his future.
“He looks into the past as one looks in the mirror and sees one’s flaws so as to correct them”—flaws that are purposely created in him by the source so that he would come to the awareness and attainment of Him: from darkness into Light—and in this manner to attain the future. And the future exists in the connection with that same source.

New Life #972 – Positive Competition

New Life #972 – Positive Competition
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
Competition is necessary for the world to run and for the person to grow and develop. We envy others who appear to have more and want to realize our own uniqueness. In the future, people will compete in a positive, healthy way to see who is more beneficial to others and society as a whole. Everything will be done for the sake of Heaven rather than in the name of personal honor. Everyone will aim to resemble the Creator by becoming more loving and giving.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 11/19/17

laitman_560Question: Are there any objects in creation in relation to which the Creator ceases to act and they have no opportunity to know Him?
Answer: Every person has the possibility of attaining the Creator. It is only objects on the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature that are not prepared to do this.
Question: If the Creator is responsible for my corruption, why does the good and benevolent Creator compel me to develop through evil when He gives me the feelings of suffering?
Answer: It is in order for you to transcend the evil that was created in you initially and to attain the absolute good.
Question: You say that love is about caring for others more than for myself. How should I take care of myself in order to maintain balance? After all, isn’t the principle of love in Kabbalah that I must love myself, others, and the Creator equally?
Answer: I could say that I love myself and that is why I want to take myself out of the servitude to the ego and achieve a full resemblance to the Creator. In principle, this is actually very great self-love. But at the same time, I suppress my egoism with all my might.
Question: Does a Kabbalist understand how the Creator acts through him or does he only feel the action of the Creator?
Answer: A Kabbalist feels the Creator’s actions, and through this feeling he understands Him. The feeling comes first and then the understanding.
Question: Is it worth learning the principles of Kabbalah by heart in Hebrew? Or is it enough to know them in English?
Answer: It is possible in English, but it is desirable to know them in Hebrew so that it will be clear where they come from and specifically why they were called this because the Hebrew language is derived from Kabbalah.
Question: What has happened to a person who has felt the friends and their spiritual state, has heard their thoughts, and then this stops? Where has all of this gone? After all, nothing disappears. Has the vessel expanded?
Answer: Certainly. Egoism grew and everything that existed before, everything that connected him with his friends, has disappeared in the growing egoism. But he must go on because now he will reach a feeling of the friends on a larger scale.
Question: If I am not the Creator, how can I fully be like Him? Would I cease being a creature?
Answer: No. It is specifically in that you are fully like the Creator that you become a creature. So, a person who resembles the Creator is called “Adam,” from the word “Adameh,” similar to the Creator. That is what they called the first Kabbalist who became similar to the Creator.
