About Love And Success

Laitman_201_02Question: Where is it possible to find true love, and who is a successful person?
Answer: True love can only be through a feeling in which the person doesn’t think about himself as the object of love, but about the person who is loved, so he is concerned about how to do something for him. So, in life, true love can be put into practice only through the implementation of the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
A truly successful person is someone who compares himself with others not to attain material success and higher competitive capacity, but to use the characteristic of natural envy to move more quickly than others toward spiritual correction.

Living For The Soul

laitman_537Question: You said that every person must attain his own soul. Can you explain how I will behave once I attain my soul?
Answer: A person who attains his soul begins to see the spiritual world, the upper system that governs us. He begins to see everything above time, motion, and place.
The soul’s perspective isn’t from the birth to the death of the physical body, but from zero to infinity; to the height of the whole ladder a person climbs toward his soul. He will behave only for the benefit of the soul, just as at the moment a person’s behavior is determined only by pleasing his body, his egoistic desire.
A person who discovers his soul feels that this is a totally different life, as it is written, “I saw an upside down world.” Then, he begins to live for the soul since this his greatest eternal part. Previously, he felt pleasure in a totally different manner. The Light that fills the soul fills a person with pleasure that is 620 times greater than all the pleasures in this world.

The Revolution Of The 21st Century: Rich Man, Poor Man

Laitman_130The economic gap between different segments of the population is not new to IsraelHowever, over the last decade, they have seriously expanded. It is no wonder that the exacerbating inequality begets another no less natural phenomenon: the hatred of the rich.
Generally, wealth and poverty is an eternal leitmotif of human society. Nowadays, however, this issue becomes much more emotional.
Not long ago, we respected the financial elite, be they successful entrepreneurs or the heirs of large fortunes. They appeared in the news, in articles, and books were written about them.
However, recently a new attitude has formed, accompanied by severe criticism of them and sometimes by hatred and antagonism. To some extent, they are perceived as enemies.
Here, we involuntarily recall the French Revolution with the famous saying, “Let them eat cake.” At the time, the phrase symbolized alienation, isolation of the elites from the people.
Today, this gap has become so large that the former respect sometimes turns into hostility, the same type that once led to revolutions.
Basically, it refers not only to Israeli society, especially in the economy and in other aspects; we are adopting Western customs.

A Flood Of Questions About The Wisdom Of Kabbalah

laitman_281_02Question: Is the wisdom of Kabbalah a secret wisdom or a practical study?
Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is a practical study. It is secret for those who are not involved in it and revealed to those who engage in it.
Question: Why does a person need the wisdom of Kabbalah?
Answer: If a person believes that he doesn’t need it, it is a sign that he doesn’t need it, or vice versa. There also can be a third option. Find out, and you will discover what it is, and then you will understand whether you need it or not.
Question: Is a discussion circle the new form of studying?
Answer: A circle is the oldest form of studying for those who wish to resemble the Creator. Abraham used it in his days when he taught his followers. This is the reason that this is the only way the wisdom of Kabbalah is attained and studied.
Question: How many worlds are there?
Answer: There are an infinite number of worlds! Every spiritual state is called a world.
Question: What is the ladder of desires?
Answer: Our desires grow continuously, and we must arrange them as a ladder that we can only climb up and thus feel that we ascend.

Who Was I In My Previous Life?

Laitman_003.jpgQuestion: I am very interested in the issue of reincarnation. Is it possible to know about my previous lives? Will I learn anything by that? Will it help me advance?
Answer: You can discover who you were, but not if you are a beginner studying the wisdom of Kabbalah. Only if you attain your soul will you know all its previous lives, all the states, the levels it has been through, and the connections it had with other souls. You attain its place in the general system, in the general soul that contains everyone, that is called Malchut of Infinity. But you can reach all that only if you work and attain it.
Question: Will I be able to discover who I was in my previous lives?
Answer: Yes, if you need it for your current work. After all, the moment you penetrate the upper world, bestowal and love of others, you have no questions about yourself and about your previous lives anymore, only if you need it in order to advance and reach even greater bestowal.

When The Common People Can Do It, The Elites Will Want It

laitman_568_01Learn the Language of Politicians
Question: Can we turn with our message to world leaders and give them example of the economic benefit of social unity? Is such unity also good for the government?
Answer: Yes, if it flows well and smoothly, without threatening the elites, then it is a good idea. This is because in a cohesive society, passions calm down, violence decreases, and conflicts fade. If today’s leaders were to tilt their ears toward the wisdom of Kabbalah and understand the mechanism of what is happening, then this would be another matter. However, they see their situation even more distorted than the economists. An economist follows his theories and ideas. If they don’t work, he finds others. On the other hand, people who manage the nation, any nation, possess a limited collection of monetary means and aggressive structures. On that basis, their mutual internal relationships are also built. Politicians don’t understand any other language. That is how they are built. Specifically as a result of aggressive opposition, they penetrate upward, and accordingly, the most brutal of them finds himself above them all. That is how the laws of egoistic society work.
Not A Revolution But Change
Question: Who, exactly, will begin to unite in its framework? Principally, from where will the process begin, from below or from above?
Answer: First of all, this process will not begin under pressure from one side or another. When people will learn the method of unity, they will understand how it is necessary to arrange mutual relationships, and even in the beginning, there will not be many—let’s say ten percent and after that fifteen or twenty—but this will change the face of the nation. Undercurrents will influence all the rest, for we are interconnected in an entirely integral system, and when I change, inevitably I change you.
If we truly learn about unity most of the day, then we will create a more intense force that will influence the nation through acquiring a new basis, a new spirit. It will be possible to feel it everywhere: Suddenly before everyone’s eyes, people will appear who feel themselves connected with everyone. That is how we will influence the middle class and the elite.
Realistic Benefit
Question: There are key figures who stand at the head of the regulatory institutions, the communications media, and other institutions that determine the way the wind blows in the nation. In what way can we interest them, other than total relaxation? Do we have some further economic or social message?
Answer: Certainly, we can show the leadership of the nation and the economists the real numbers, the calculations of profit that the nation will gain if ten or twenty percent of the population would compose a network of good mutual relationships between them.
This will reduce national expenditures, eliminate the black market, strengthen the institution of the family, reduce the amount of events that demand the involvement of all kinds of authorities and police, and so forth. In such a way, this is talking about a savings in means and resources on a large scale, and the main thing is that we reach balance! An entire sector of the nation will be satisfied with life not according to the polls, but truly. In the opposite case, there would be a need to spend much more to maintain at least an elementary level of satisfaction for the population.

The Revival Of The “Heart Of Stone”

laitman_527_02The Torah, “Exodus”: He was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he ate no bread and drank no water, and He inscribed upon the tablets the words of the Covenant, the Ten Commandments.
Man’s desires that rise to the level of forty, the level ofBina (wisdom), lose their foundation of egoism, and acquire the possibility to receive the form of spirituality on them. Thus, the stone that the commandments are made of, meaning man’s foundation of egoism, receive the form of the Ten Commandments.
The gradual transformation of our first essence of the attribute of bestowal and love is expressed in the Ten Commandments takes place under the influence of the Light, the Creator. We are not the ones who do it, but we want it to happen and bring ourselves to such a state. Thus, the Creator writes these things on man’s “stony heart.”
When we understand that our heart is made of stone, and understand that the Creator has done this to him, then He softens it. We want that the Creator will change its form only to the attribute of bestowal and love, and then He performs this act on us. This is called that He writes the Ten Commandments on my heart (on the stone), and the heart turns into the two tablets of stone on which the Ten Commandments are written.
The process of recognition happens gradually. A person’s stony heart is not revealed to him immediately, only to the exact extent that he is willing to accept it and be responsible for it, to understand and agree to that it is his normal and natural foundation and it is so needed. We thank the Creator that He created us as He did, since it is specifically in this state that we can raise to the summit of the Creator, to the point of resembling and being equal to Him.
Recognition and understanding come to us only to give thanks to the enlightenment of the Upper Light. Otherwise, nothing happens! Nothing depends on us except the yearnings, all the more so since in most events the yearnings are in the form of an impulse that is not stabilized and not conscious.
And one shouldn’t forget that on the way to this state, man feels that he is a ruler of the world, like the son of Pharaoh. He feels that everything belongs to him, that he can do anything and wants everything, that he has a right to everything, like Moses in Pharaoh’s palace. It is vividly described in the Torah. But in our world, it doesn’t have to return in a physical form.
So the gradual refusal of egoistic reception brings us to ascend to the level of the opposite attribute, of complete bestowal.

A Greenhouse Of The Right Desire

laitman_942The created being is a desire to enjoy created as something from nothing that develops from its root under the influence of theLight. If the desire is passive, which means that it doesn’t want to develop toward the Light and resemble it, the Light forces it to develop just as it happened in the four phases of the Direct Light.
Afterward, the desire becomes inclined to develop, which means that it restricts itself and builds a Masach (Screen) and grows as a result of its own initiative. The development of the desire to enjoy refers to the acquisition of the Masach.
The problem is that our desire with which we must ascend from the bottom to above this world is very small. We are impressed by the fact that it is ignited in order to attain the goal of creation, the upper force, but this is a first impression that quickly fades and disappears. Then, we can only continue as a result of a habit, of a routine, thanks to the fact that we have established corporeal frameworks that sustain and obligate us.
However, this actually increases our desire and our vessel. We must be armed with a desire that matches the same level to which we want to ascend in order to reach the first revelation and in order to discover every new level in general.
Where can we get such a desire? It is only from the Light that operates on us! The Light influences the desire that is something from nothing, that small black point, the tiny nucleus that develops it. This means that the problem is how to draw the influence of the Light.
If I draw the Light by myself, it means that “I awaken the dawn.” The Light that influences my desire to enjoy invokes a feeling of darkness in it. However, I discern the vessel for the revelation of the Light by that and wish for the darkness to illuminate like the Light.
This is the reason that I ask that my desire grow and I wait for the Light to influence me. I don’t care about the phases that will lead me there, and whether I remain in my desire to enjoy or acquire a desire to bestow, as long as I advance and draw the influence of the Light to me. This means that I awaken the dawn by myself and raise MAN, according to which the action is performed. This process is called “hastening time” (Achishena).
If I cannot awaken the influence of the Light on me in order to increase my desire, it develops naturally, in its time (Beito). The Light affects me in any case, but, because these changes are undesirable to me, they bring me sufferings. I am not happy about the darkness that is revealed to me. I cannot see the future vessel for the revelation of the Light in it.
This way of development is undesirable to the Creator, as well as to people. However, we still advance whether it is along the path of the Light or the path of suffering.
Therefore, when Abraham saw the good future that was prepared for mankind, for all of Babylon—for the small desire that was supposed to be filled with the Light of Infinity that is 620 times greater—he asked, “Where will we get the vessels and the desires from?” It is because it is impossible to receive the reward the Creator has promised us without a corrected desire.
Then, the Creator calmed him by saying, “Don’t worry. This desire will grow 620 times bigger during the 400 years of exile in Egypt.” This means that, on the way, people will go through a period in which they receive a big desire, either reluctantly or by hastening time, and then they will begin to work with it in order to bestow.
Today, everything is open and clear, and the phases we must undergo are well understood. We must make sure that we have the right influence of the environment that will be like a greenhouse for us that will hasten the growth of a big desire in us for the revelation of the Creator.

Israel: From The First Settlers To The Present Day

laitman_742_02Question: Why did the first settlers in Israel lose their main internal essence of the mutual relations between them and just accepted socialism with all its implications and mistakes?
Answer: The fact is that in Israel there was mutual exclusion between Kabbalists and traditional Judaism, between Rav Kook and the religious people. Rav Kook called for unity, for the Light that is reflected in his writings, while the other Jewish leaders continued to educate their followers according to the principles laid down in exile.
They didn’t welcome the spiritual revival of the nation according to the principle of “love thy neighbor as thyself.” So far this condition has not been met because they are awaiting the arrival of the Messiah, that is, some force, some special circumstances, that will reveal the love of others in us. They don’t realize that this is only possible due to our own internal work, as the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us. From the Kabbalistic perspective it is totally wrong to tie the fulfillment of the law of “love thy neighbor as thyself” to some upper illumination or to a certain person or leader.
After the first wave of settlers in Israel, there was a delimitation between Kabbalah and Judaism. After all, the masses that came to Israel totally rejected religion, or clung to its ordinary corporeal frameworks. The number of Kabbalists among them, was very small and no one listened to them. Moreover, they were afraid to speak in public, afraid they would create a situation that would force them to leave the country.
It soon became clear who belonged to which camp among the settlers that caused the division among society according to political, economic, spiritual, and physical principles. This led to great problems. None of the famous Kabbalists who lived here were able to speak openly about spiritual correction. Rav Kook for example, used a language that could not be understood; therefore, everyone regarded him as an ordinary ideologue, not a Kabbalist.
The great Kabbalist, Baal HaSulam tried to publish a paper to reach the people, but he wasn’t able to achieve anything; the paper was shut down under the accusation of pro-communist ideas. After all, if you pursue the principle of love thy neighbor as thyself, it is perceived as a communistic principle.
Thus a quarter of a century after the first Zionist congress in Basel, the situation in Israel is that we have to revive everything all over again today. There are many people and movements opposed to the Kabbalistic approach of creating one nation since each one is trying to grab a “piece” for himself to become a tiny king in his own community.
We see how divided and torn apart modern Judaism is; a huge confrontation exists between the religious and non-religious factions of society. The entire nation is divided into many sectors.
I think that today we can speak openly about the wisdom of Kabbalah and with an appeal for the love of others, as a consequence of the deep frustration people are now beginning to feel and realize as a result of the cumulative experience gained over 150 years of development.
Therefore, we have the opportunity to stand on the shoulders of the first settlers and the founders of the country to call for practical actions based on our internal constitution of love thy neighbor as thyself.

Compulsory Studies For All

laitman_600_02In the News (from World Crisis): “Today even minimal wages which should theoretically suffice in order to live a modest life doesn’t allow a person to break the poverty circle. Minimum wages for a full time job, 40 hours a week, doesn’t allow a person to cross the poverty line.”
“Democrats seek to raise the minimum wage… . Republicans argue that this has would have a negative effect, because it would lead to a reduction in the number of jobs and unemployment – the load is distributed among the workers, who did not get fired.
“Regardless of who is right in this situation, there is one indisputable fact: Today, a lot of families depend on government assistance. In other words, the minimum wage in working full-time is not enough to cross the poverty line.
“Indeed, a new study of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development shows that in 21 of 26 states, which set the minimum wage, work, working 40 hours a week is not adequate for the normal means of supporting one’s family. Of the 34 countries belonging to the OECD, minimum wage does not allow coping with poverty. In Spain, you need to work more 72 hours a week to avoid poverty. It turned out that this is the norm, not the exception.”
My Comment: The world must abandon the old approach to work, wages, pension, and other social services. We have to start relating to society as to one whole, and in any case, to provide all the necessary conditions for existence outside the principle “who does not work does not eat.”
It is necessary to link the receipt of benefits to participating in a course of the wisdom of connection. Participating in the course will be considered everyone’s obligatory job.
As for people who work in order to provide society’s needs, society will choose specific people for these jobs. We have to disconnect the receiving benefits from work and to tie it to the a person’s participation in a course of the wisdom of connection.
[159372]

Democracy And Monarchy

laitman_556The four legions match four legions of angels. The legion of Judah represented the celestial legion that is led by the angel Gabriel.
The angels are the forces of nature. If, for example, we let go of a glass of water in the air, it will fall to the ground, which means that there is an angel that pulls this glass to the ground.
When we integrate everything according to what the Torah commands we can reveal the four forces that sustain a person in the right integration between them. The result of the right connection of all the 12 tribes of the Israel nation is the revelation of the four major forces: Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut, the four angels, the four pillars, that hold everything together and lead us forward in a rigid but just manner.
This is tremendous pressure since everything is aimed at our precise development. Spiritual laws are not democratic at all. Their revelation obligates a person to exert himself to a certain measure; therefore, every law is accompanied by a tough force and at the same time by correction. There is no democracy here. Democracy is a concept that was invented in order to get rid of the imperial dominion. But a monarchy, propped up by Kabbalists is the best and most reliable.
The spiritual worlds were created so that there is only one force from above, the king of the world and everything else is subordinate to Him. It should be the same in the corporeal world. I don’t see any positive changes in the world since the monarchs have disappeared. A king is responsible for his state and for his people. They are his subjects so he thinks and cares about them. In a democracy, however, it is just about looting the state where every politician pulls the blanket to his side, wanting to bury all the others.
In the time of monarchies, both the leadership and the state treasury were more efficient. If the king had the support of the sages, everything was aimed at the benefit of the state. All the kings of Judea had a council of sages by their side, the Sanhedrin. Besides, there were always prophets that blessed them and the state. We can read about this in the “Book of Kings.”
When we speak about spiritual roots that are fulfilled in our world, we should mention that the king had to keep certain laws, because the Creator was above him. The daily routine of a king was clearly performed according to his spiritual level. It is a lot of work!
King David describes his attainments in the Psalms and King Solomon in the Song of Songs. The Song of Songs is the most holy book, which is about the unity, the complete love between the created beings and the Creator. These are the high spiritual levels that the kings, the judges, and the prophets were on.
Despite the rigid hierarchy, people who were not priests or Levites could also be members of the Sanhedrin. They all had to arrive at one decision, not by a democratic vote but by mutual concessions, which is a totally different attitude towards the world.

What Happens To The Soul After Death?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What happens to a person after he or she dies? What’s happens to their soul?
Answer: Those who are capable of perceiving their soul live within it because it is not connected with the death of the body.
And for those who have never attained their souls, there remains only a Reshimot (from Hebrew “roshem” – a record), which is a piece of information similar to DNA, a certain code that includes everything that a person had ever consisted of.
When the body dies, this informational part (Reshimot) must connect with a new body in this world and start all over. Every person has a Reshimot, which is the particle from which we eventually develop a soul.
Comment:  You have said that people who have a soul are only those who build it.
Answer: Yes, it’s true. They build it out of their egoistic desires that are based onReshimot,  some particle of information that works inside the desire forcing people to build a soul.
Question: What do I have? What’s missing? What am I supposed to build?
Answer: Our egoistic will to receive is all we have. But it may be the case that suddenly a special desire sparks in us. This is a desire to perceive our soul and figure out why we live, what is the purpose of our existence and the source of life.
It means that a Reshimot, that tiny spark, the so-called point in the heart wakes up within us. At this point, we start contemplating what we should do next since this aspiration presses on us and doesn’t leave us alone.
Then, we address our egoistic desire and start searching for a place where we can realize this spark. Eventually, we come to a place where the authentic wisdom of Kabbalah is taught and where we receive an explanation of how to build a soul. Creating a soul means changing the will to receive for our own sake to being for the sake of others.

Where is the Soul Located?

laitman_628_3Question: Were there people in the past who found their souls? If so, where are the souls of those people?
Answer: Throughout all generations, there were many Kabbalists. The first of them was Adam HaRishon followed by twenty generations of Kabbalists until Abraham, after him appeared Isaac, Jacob, Moses, etc…. up to our time.
All these Kabbalists attained an extraordinary condition, a special vessel called the “soul” in which they revealed a higher power and eternal life. We all have to do it too.
Question: Where are their souls now?
Answer: Here we face the question: What does “where is the soul” mean, i.e., is there a place where a soul dwells? When we perceive spirituality, we begin to realize that there is no such thing as a place. Today, even quantum physicists state that there are no such things as place, time, or motion. All these parameters are relative; there is nothing tangible or real about them.
When we stop absorbing into our ego, going outside our selfishness in the direction of our neighbors, we start feeling the external reality that is beyond the boundaries of our ego. Then, all these conventions of time, motion, and space disappear.
Question: What if we die before we attain this state? After all, all these Kabbalists whom you mentioned lived many thousands of years ago…
Answer: The body dies, the animal level rather than something that belongs to the soul. If during one’s life one reaches the level of bestowing to one’s neighbor, i.e., one perceives one’s soul, this sensation of the soul is grasped. This part of us never dies.
My teacher Rabash said that if a person who attained spirituality dies, his physical body is like a shirt that he takes off in the evening and throws in the laundry. No more than that. Our physical body compared to our inner soul.

Man—The Redundant Element In The System

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Vasily Tyutinpublicist): “We are on the verge of a new socioeconomic order. Excessive productivity and production are growing, and the crisis we are facing will be about machines and robots replacing man in different jobs.
“We will not need one another. Man will be unable to sell his work and will only be a potential consumer. Billions will be unable to offer something to one another or to the system, becoming totally useless, looking for food and social services. The major global means for regulating the system will be regulating the population or waging wars that will eliminate redundant people. The alternative version of the future can be a system that doesn’t abuse redundant people.”
My Comment: The future social system will be integral, based on complete voluntary and equal relationships, in the likeness of the structure of the upper governance of the world. We will learn how to build and manage this social structure by practically accepting and implementing the science of Kabbalah.

About Free Energy Resources

laitman_763_1Question: It is believed that using energy from resources that are free, like wind turbines or solar panels, will cause no harm to the environment.

The Twelve Tribes Of The Common Soul

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Light emanates from the East, for there the sun rises. From there comes the eastern wind, the most harmful of all winds. From the west comes snow, hail, heat, frost, and heavy rains.
The South, a source of blessing of dew and rain. is the source of the blessed dew and rain. From the North is sent “darkness” and malicious forces.
(The Torah, “Bamidbar”)
The location of the banners of the camps of the Jews corresponds to the four sides of the Light.
A unified system called the common soul consists of twelve parts (the twelve tribes) that relate to and are connected with each other in accordance with the four sides of the world that signify the four parts – Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin and Malchut.
And the banners must stand against each other:
Bina – Hochma
Malchut – Zeir Anpin
Each part consists of 3 lines, a total of 12 parts (12 tribes). Their location represents the pairing of the vessel of the common soul.
The Torah specifies which banner they have to be under. The banner symbolizes the private purpose of each camp that has its own characteristics and properties. Therefore, the one common goal is expressed in them in a slightly different focus, from a different angle.
As an example, a human body consists of various organs. Each in their own way senses the body’s movements, supports, etc. In the same way, thanks to the variety of properties and the way they connect among each other, the properties of the general force, the Creator are shown.
The property of bestowal shows up as a result of huge egoistic differences. Bestowal is as absolute like a mother’s love: Do whatever you want; I still love you.

Soul—One For All?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Does each person have a soul of his or her own or is there one common soul for all?
Answer: In fact, there is only one common soul that is shared by everyone. Each person perceives a different angle, from his or her part of this great soul. It is ready to be perceived by all of us.
The Creator made one desire to enjoy, as it is written: “I created the evil inclination.” And we must act together to correct all this evil. In any case, we all are bound together as one body of integral as one man with one heart. Therefore, we will correct it all together will to receive together and reach a state that is called “soul.”

The Hierarchy Of The Collective Soul

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Who in the spiritual hierarchy can obtain the closest proximity to the property of bestowal?
Answer: Spirituality is the world of forces. Everything there is about forces.
The closest to the property of bestowal are Cohens (priests) who represent the most internal part of the general soul; then come Levites who gather around the Cohens, and then the people of Israel follows.
Erev Rav (the mixed multitude) is behind the Cloud of Glory (the Surrounding Light). Even though they make all efforts to grab as much as they can for their own sake, they cannot get inside it because they do not accept the property of bestowal, to work for theCreator’s sake, for the benefit of others.
This is a quantitative and qualitative balance of forces in a single system called “the common soul.”

The Difference Between The Secular And Religious Approach

Laitman_631_4Question: What is the difference between the religious and secular approach to life? For example, I consider myself a secular person, but I always have an internal conflict, and it is difficult to figure out where in me the secular person ends and the religious one begins. The same division exists in the entire Israeli society.
According to the latest poll: 50% of the [Israeli] population are completely secular, 17% observe the traditions but do not consider themselves religious, 13% observe traditions and consider themselves religious, 12% are religious and 8% are Orthodox religious.
Answer: Secular people believe that the world is governed by laws of nature and there is nothing else except what we see and discover through science. The secular approach to life means that the world should be taken such as it is, according to one’s feelings, without relying on any upper forces, destiny, life after death. Any unsolved phenomena are no more than a figment of our imagination and fantasy.
The secular approach is the real approach. Inside it are many varieties that define man’s relationship to himself and society, but they are not to the level of the difference between the religious and secular approach.
The religious approach is based on the belief in the upper force that created the world and puts us in the conditions that we have to perform. If we fulfill all the wishes of the upper force, we deserve the award, if we do not fulfill them, we will be punished.
There are different kinds of relationships with the upper force, of attitudes to reward and punishment, to a person’s participation in this and one’s freedom of choice. But the point is that religious people take into account the existence of the upper force, a higher design, program, the purpose of creation. Thus, the center of creation is no longer the human being, but the Upper Force, the Creator.
Because people believe that the Creator arranges and organizes everything in response to one’s behavior, they have to continuously relate their lives to the Upper Force. That is, they think that one is dependent not on the laws of blind nature, but on the Upper will. Therefore, it is necessary to pray to the Upper, ask, be ashamed, repent for one’s past actions.
Many different religions and beliefs once existed and vanished or are still existing today Religion has a great influence on the world and on humanity. During the past two thousand years, humanity has evolved under the influence of religion, first after the destruction of the Second Temple Judaism arose, and then from it came Christianity and Islam.
All these religions are fighting among themselves, and there are very complex relationships between them. Each religion has many movements: Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox Christianity, Shiite and Sunni in Islam, and many streams of Judaism.
Every synagogue in Israel is somehow different from the rest. Not to mention the conflict between the secular and religious who are not able to organize their lives so as not to interfere with each other but want to impose their own view on others.
I do not want to judge who is right and who is wrong. But such a conflict exists only in Israel. For example, in the US or in Europe there is no conflict between religious and secular people. If you are a Jew, no one cares whether you attend the synagogue on Saturdays or only on major holidays.
The Jews abroad feel they belong to one nation. In Israel, there is a conflict, because religion is not separated from the state and is involved in a power struggle. Thus, it appears into the area of general interest, where our desires clash. Over the years, this conflict increases because everyone believes that the opposite side wants to grab a piece from it.
This confrontation in society is gaining strength, leading to such hatred and division, which had never existed among the people of Israel. And I do not think that it is the result of a different approach to the world. It’s just a struggle for power in our lives—desires of some to control others and the state so that it serves their interests, be that of the secular or religious community.
The struggle is for the state, for power, for the state treasury, and using it for their own benefit.

A Stream Of Goodness

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe weekly chapter of the Torah “Bambidar” tells us how the Israeli army was built. We learn how they gathered around the Tabernacle and what was displayed on the flags of each camp, etc.
This speaks about the building of the general soul: about the forces, intentions, and attributes of which it is made. The structure of the general soul reminds us of the structure of an atom, where only those parts that can withstand the radiation of the nucleus, the radiation of bestowal, can be close to the nucleus. It is according to this principle that the camps gather and are classified.
It says that it is forbidden to come close to the Tabernacle since one can die (“the stranger that approaches will die”). This means that your vessels, your desires, may not be able to hold on, and so become egoistic, causing you to die spiritually.
Comment: But all of humanity accepts these words as rigid laws and a threat of physical death.
Answer: The laws of nature are indeed rigid because the system that governs the world is very tough and uncompromising, but everyone still follows the stream of goodness.

Robots Instead Of People

laitman_547_01In the News (from scmp.com): “Construction work has begun on the first factory in China’s manufacturing hub of Dongguan to use only robots for production, the official Xinhua news agency reported.
“A total of 1,000 robots would be introduced at the factory initially, run by Shenzhen Evenwin Precision Technology Co, with the aim of reducing the current workforce of 1,800 by 90 per cent to only about 200…
“Robots are set to take over in many factories in the Pearl River Delta, the area of southern China known as the ‘world’s workshop’ because of the huge export manufacturing industry there, as labour shortages bite and local authorities face the need to spur innovation to counter the economic slowdown.
“Since September, a total of 505 factories across Dongguan have invested 4.2 billion yuan in robots, aiming to replace more than 30,000 workers, according to the Dongguan Economy and Information Technology Bureau.
“By 2016, up to 1,500 of the city’s industrial enterprises will began replacing humans with robots.
“The provincial authorities of Guangdong said early this year they would spend 943 billion yuan on replacing human labour with robots within the next three years. …
“The provincial capital, Guangzhou, has set a goal of fostering a robot-manufacturing industry with an output value of more than 100 billion yuan by 2020, as well as automating more than 80 per cent of the city’s manufacturing production.”
My Comment: The development of robotic technologies should lead to a reduction in the number of laborers and a reduction in the work week. But this isn’t happening because the ruling class recognizes that people with free time are dangerous: They begin to demand change in the social structure.
Society prefers us to work more instead of increasing our free time so we can increase our (superfluous) consumption, meaning that we will be involved in the creation of useless things and carrying out meaningless activities just to be busy. Workplaces are intentionally created to employ us. Every year more and more people are forced to engage in meaningless work, but endless economic growth on Earth is limited; it is impossible. We will have to return to an equivalent exchange market and produce only essential goods.

Our Reality Is Not Real

laitman_739Opinions: Eugene P Wigner: “It will remain remarkable, in whatever way our future concepts may develop, that the very study of the external world led to the scientific conclusion that the content of the consciousness is the ultimate universal reality” (Remarks on the Mind-Body Question, page 169).
Erwin Schrodinger: “Consciousness is not measurable with a natural formula. For consciousness this is an absolutely basic conclusion. It cannot be explained from the point of view of something else. What we see in the form of physical bodies and forces is none other than forms and different versions in the structure of space. Plato was the first to envisage the idea of timeless existence and to emphasize it—against reason—as a reality, more [real] than our actual experience…”
Albert Einstein: “If we think of the field as being removed, there is no ‘space’ which remains since space does not have an independent existence. Time has no independent existence apart from the order of events by which we measure it. It is understood that there is no physical space, ultimately in nature everything is present or not, depending on human thought. This is the function of our conceptual schema (of the mind). Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”
In his later years he said, “It is necessary to find possibilities of refraining from the temporal sequence (space together with time) in general. But there is no hint of an idea, in which of the elementary concepts it is possible to use a theory like this.”
Max Planck: “Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.”
Niels Bohr: “The general view of the world in terms of objects that really exist ‘out there’, without any connection to our observations (objective reality), was absolutely destroyed from the perspective of the quantum factor. Everything that we call real is composed of things that cannot be considered as real. If quantum mechanics hasn’t profoundly shocked you, you haven’t understood it yet”.
