How Can We Correct The World?

Question: What can we do so that there will be more justice and less suffering in the world? Why has the Creator created such an incorrect world?
Answer: The Creator did not create “such an incorrect world” but a totally uncorrected world, on purpose, so that we will correct it by perceiving its lack of correction. We can begin to correct the world by changing ourselves because there is nothing to correct but ourselves.

The Creator Is Waiting For Your Call

Question: Is the wisdom of Kabbalah intended for everyone or only for a special part of humanity? Why should an ordinary person want to engage in the Creator’s work?
Answer: The Creator specially pulls us, shakes us, and sends us all sorts of disturbances and crises. He does this so that we will want to correct our fate and turn to Him for help. To this end He sends us all the troubles.
If we don’t turn to Him but try to do something within the framework of our life, we feel even worse because when we don’t turn to Him we force Him to send us another portion of suffering so that eventually we will turn to Him.

Man And Woman — A Magnet Between Them, Part 1

Question: Where does the force of magnetic attraction between a man and a woman that awakens at a very young age come from?
Answer: Our universe began to develop approximately 14 billion years ago as a result of the Big Bang that created a completely new place, a new creation, which didn’t exist before.
Matter began to form that initially consisted of two opposite particles: a positive and a negative, a plus, and a minus.
Plus refers to the masculine and minus to the feminine. One cannot exist without the other. Probably in the very first particle, which served as a prototype of all matter, plus and minus existed together.
After that, minus and plus began to spread more and more and to create between themselves increasingly complex compounds, electrons and protons. From their meeting and collaboration were born all of the basic elements of the periodic table, which number almost 120 today.
From these elements larger objects were formed, i.e., gas accumulations, solid objects, and the planet Earth, where this collaboration of minus and plus developed further. Atoms combined into molecules and into crystals. Molecules became organic, alive, meaning they contained within themselves their development program.
The art of connecting plus and minus evolved from the inanimate to the vegetative stage, then to the animate, and finally to the human. The connection between plus and minus, masculine and feminine particles in nature became incredibly complicated.
On the inanimate degree, substances are classified according to the number of positive and negative particles, and valences. And even more so after the inanimate substance develops in a plant that grows from inanimate soil that it is able to give birth to itself and develop; all development takes place by connecting pluses and minuses according to a certain program.
Each creature has an internal program, like in a computer that creates within it increasingly complicated connections.
For this reason, a plant grows and continues to live; otherwise it would have been dead. The relationship between two “genders,” plus and a minus, is very complex in plants. And these relationships exist not only within each plant, but also between them.
The connection between flowers is performed with the help of birds and insects that connect pluses and minuses. It isn’t just the atoms and molecules anymore, but a special connection of chemical and biological substances that are also divided into “male” and “female.”
The evolution of the plant world continues until it reaches the animate degree, where there is a huge difference between male and female. Special types of relations occur between them according to the seasons. It is an entire culture of relationships even though it is controlled by instincts.
A human, as the highest stage of animate development, creates a special culture, education, environment, and human society. Therefore he stands out from the animal world and is superior to it. In humanity there are very complex relationships between plus and minus, i.e., men and women who live their lives together.
throughout history a man and a woman created a joint family for quite a long time because they needed each other in order to raise their children, which requires many years. After all, the more developed the creature is, the more time is required for its development.
A big difference is obvious between the interaction of positive and negative elementary particles that arose during the creation of our universe and between things that happen to people. It even seems to us that a person has a freedom of choice and adds something to his program of development by determining his behavior himself, especially in regard to relationships between the sexes.
But in fact, we add nothing to the program of nature. Exactly like an animal, a plant, and a stone, a human obeys natural instincts and behaves according to the program installed in him or her, which manifests and leads to the ultimate goal.

Exercises For The Revelation Of The Creator

Question: What intention should a person have who lives in this world and studies Kabbalah when he sees material objects?
Answer: A person must live according to the simple principle: “There is none else besides Him,” a single force, i.e., the Creator.
I look at all external objects and occurrences and even at everything that is inside me that has no an external image, and imagine that all this comes from the Creator, that this is exactly what He wants to arouse in me, and this is exactly what He wants me to feel! And now everything depends on the way I treat this. Therefore, all material objects and this entire world are very important to me.
Question: Can I break through everything that confuses me by doing such purely psychological exercises?
Answer: Yes. When I attribute it all to one single force, I break through to the Creator. Through all my efforts to identify Him behind the various influences on me, behind the multitude of objects, forces, opinions, desires, and thoughts, I begin to see and feel Him. I desire something, so why does He want me to desire it? I think about something, why does He wants me to think this way? I am nobody. I am like a mechanism, just a metal box in which there are some thoughts and feelings, i.e., a heart and a mind, and only I can inspect myself: “Why did this appear in me? What does the single, uniform, and absolute force that controls me want from me? Why does this force want me to feel my state this way every moment?”
On this basis, I enter in complete contact with the Creator according to my small level. And if I continue to move forward this way through “there is none else besides Him,” then I will define more and more what the Creator wants from me, what He’s up to, and what reaction He expects from me.
And so I will begin to approach Him gradually, as it is said in Kabbalah, “There is nothing in nature that a person can’t achieve through a constant effort.” Therefore, I can reach a state where I will start to feel, see, and understand the Creator and communicate with Him as with a close friend. And all this is only thanks to the tip that there is no one else besides Him behind everything that surrounds me.
The various concealments of the Creator are exercises through which He gives me an opportunity to recognize Him behind all the disturbances. My task is to never part with this thought and not to forget that everything comes from Him under any circumstances.
This isn’t simple. And here I can get help only from the society of people who think the same way I do, and our joint effort is out in the open so we influence each other.
If we create such a group from millions of people who are tuned this way and are willing to reveal the Creator, we will “wash” the entire world by this and everything will become plain and clear.

New Life #504 – Living Through Screens

New Life #504 –  Living Through Screens
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
All of nature is one integrated system, and developing in this system requires our connection to each other, as if we were members of one family, but our egoismopposes and doesn’t want to truly connect to others. The era we live in is the era of the screen, and it brings with it a feeling that the whole world is in the palm of our hand, that we are connected to the whole world and that the world is connected to us.
But most of all, the screens reveal our nature. We become more direct, and behave without shame. The screens expose our true faces, our nature, our ego, and places a mirror in front of us.
It is true that we were also egoists 200 years ago, but then we covered it with false manners. Today, the Internet has dissolved all these games and unleashes all the evil in us and forces us to correct it and to truly connect with our environment.
We will soon realize that we have to connect to and to be part of the trend of integration. It will happen very soon.

Questions About Working In A Group

Question: What is the difference between connection among thefriends and unity? What should we yearn for when we are in thegroup of ten?
Answer: We reach actual unity by yearning for connection?
Question: I am in a group of several men. Three to four of them participate in all the activities, while three to four other men don’t come to the group activities regularly. Such a group doesn’t bestow unto me, but I don’t want to “pull the train” by myself. The way I see it a group should operate in synergy.
Is it possible to enter the spiritual world without a group or should I teach others and thus create my own group?
Answer: Try to do it while being a member in your group.

Touching Hearts

Question: What do we lack in order to form the correct prayer?
Answer: Our hearts still do not feel that they can touch one another. They are enclosed in the egoistic layer called our body.
In this case, our body is not the physical flesh but rather egoism, which does not allow us to touch hearts. As a result we cannot form a prayer.

How Does One Reveal The Spiritual World?

Comment: There is a feeling that you aren’t talking about what happens in the spiritual world, you are hiding what people are engaged with there and everything else.
Answer: For the last 3,500 years a few hundred books have been written about the spiritual world by great Kabbalists who investigated and discovered the upper world. As for me, I am the smallest and the last in the chain of Kabbalists, so if my words are inadequate, I recommend taking their books and start reading!
Then you will find out how you must change yourself so you can see the upper world, learn how to expand it, and penetrate more deeply into it. This is also true for sciences like nuclear physics or the synthesis of medicines and the like. These are very complex things and the wisdom of Kabbalah is even more complex because it is found beyond the perception of our regular senses.
It must be understood that it is not possible to explain the wisdom of Kabbalah, so I don’t exactly explain but teach. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches a person how to open his eyes and see the upper world. It is similar to looking at a stereogram in which you need to defocus your vision to see the hidden image. When the view is concentrated on the picture it seems that there is nothing there except for lines, and suddenly with defocusing your vision a three-dimensional picture can be seen there of roaming dinosaurs or anything else. This happens when vision is fully dispersed.
The wisdom of Kabbalah can teach a person to disperse the focus like this with all the senses! Then all five senses become directed toward the next more internal level and we begin to enter into a picture of the world that is beyond its borders and we feel all of creation! I cannot explain this, I can only recommend how to disperse the focus on oneself, how to feel the upper world instead of this world, and enter into the next dimension.
In fact, we exist in all five spiritual worlds! And our world, which is found on the lowest level of development, is not counted among them. There are five worlds that are composed of 125 levels, which are found above our world; they exist here and now, but we don’t feel and see them. But we come in contact with them unconsciously, and they influence us. The role of a person is to discover the upper world and to carry out a focal dispersion on all of his egoistic approaches to life and begin to perceive the altruistic world that exists according to laws that are the opposite of the laws of our world: altruism instead of egoism, love instead of hatred, concern for others rather than concern for oneself.
The Torah doesn’t just say “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) for no reason at all. This is the general law of the upper world, and if you want to feel it, try practicing this attitude toward the world. This is possible only if a person enters into a circle of people like him who are eager to attain the true reality.
When a group of people like this gather together and begin to practice attitudes like this with each other, attitudes of love and concern, attention and support, then suddenly, as if in a fog, the hidden world that surrounds us will begin to appear and be revealed. The entire Kabbalistic method is based upon this, and no Kabbalist can tell us about the spiritual world because we don’t have internal models that match its sensation. In our world, we are already born with models that make it possible to feel the spiritual world, and even though they are incomplete, we acquire them. Why do newly born babies not hear and later begin to hear?  Why don’t they see at first and then begin to see? It is because these models are created in us gradually, we develop our senses. I suggest everyone to begin engaging in the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah, which derives its name from the word, “Le’Kabel,” to receive, to receive perception of the upper world.

New Life #492 – The Public And The Leadership: A Love Story

New Life #492 – The Public And The Leadership: A Love Story
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Is the country’s leadership connected to the public or is there a total disconnect between the two? What is the right connection between the heads of state and the people that enablse them to operate as one harmonious unit?
Summary
The stormy elections bring up a sad fact, those who lead the state or who want to reach high positions in government are detached from the public, from its desires and its needs. Many of us wonder how we have come to this extreme situation that is the source of so many problems and even to the total incompetence of central government services.
From a Family to A State
The most ancient unit of connections in society is the family. Thousands of years ago, every individual in the nuclear and extended family felt that all the other members of the family were part of him. This is how people lived for thousands of years, but because of changing circumstances, when the nations grew, people began to choose representatives that would manage them. Our desires grew and changed with time and accordingly humanity underwent different forms of governance: from slavery to monarchy to parliaments divided into many parts. But gradually a new problem emerged, a breach between the leadership and the public, which means that the head was no longer connected to the body…
In order for the body to operate properly, it has to be connected to the head somehow. In a political system the head is sometimes connected to the body and sometimes less so, sometimes it resists the body, and sometimes the body resists the head; instead of operating together, there is a gap between them.
Before each election, every party claims that it can be the head that will function better with the body in order to satisfy all the desires and deficiencies it feels, and that the essence of every party is to serve the whole body. But we all know the exact opposite happens the day after the elections. The leaders who are elected forget that man’s nature is basically egoistic
The Solution: The Head Should Serve the Body
In order for the leadership to operate harmoniously with the public, the heads of state should be people who maintain the relationship of “love thy friend as thyself.” They have to be detached from their personal interests, they have to put aside their desire for direct or indirect self-benefits while governing the people.
In a healthy body, the head has to receive the desires of the body and calculate how to fulfill them. In a healthy country the leaders have to perceive the desires of the people and implement them. The leaders themselves should have no desire other than this desire.

Year 6000 Is The End Of History

When we study Kabbalah we begin to understand that there is no time in the spiritual world. But there is a state called “6000 degrees” that we must go through and join 6,000 souls into one soul.
All this exists in the world of Atzilut inside Partzuf Zeir Anpin (theCreator). Therefore, when it comes to the spiritual states, they are unchanged.
If we say “6,000 years” it means 6,000 degrees; if we say “600,000 souls,” it means 600,000 so-called Reshimot (information records) that we need to realize between ourselves. In the spiritual world, everything is very clearly distributed and defined by formulas and graphs.
And all that concerns physical years and the reflection of the spiritual states on our life happens somewhat differently. After all, on the material level we can reduce years, and if, lets’ say, in the current year 5777 we make a complete correction, then our current year will be called 6,000 years. We will make a jump in time, i.e., will bring the Light of correction so much closer to us that we will jump through years with its speed.
It is quite difficult to explain exactly the match between the spiritual structures and physical, geographical, historical, and other ones because these temporal and spatial axes don’t fit in an ordinary person.
This is the problem that even Einstein, Hugh Everett, and other well-known scientists have found difficult to explain. Therefore, nobody in the world understands it, but they just agree, because in our usual animate (material) state we have no ability to perceive and feel the acceleration of time.
I hope we will live to see the time when we will participate together in the final correction and be honored to attend the “banquet” in honor of the end of correction to which the Creator, as the groom, will invite the whole creation, as a bride.
The bride needs to correct herself, to dress in the white robes, and to be beautiful to match the groom. Beautiful means the quality of bestowal.
This is a very serious event that will be felt as something really great: year 6000 is the end of history.

No Desire, No Prayer

Question: Is it possible to raise a prayer and attract the Light if I do not feel any desperation or suffering?
Answer: How is it possible to pray if you do not feel any suffering? How can you ask if you do not have any need? Aprayer is a revelation of desire. If I have no desire, then there is no prayer either.
Question: I can pray only from my own desire (Hissaron). How can I pray from myten?
Answer: There is no way. Of course, you can mumble something, but it does not influence anything. If you do not exist in a ten, you cannot nullify yourself. You cannot make yourself similar to the Creator in any way.
You cannot pray from a ten without a common desire. Only together with friends when you unite into a one whole can you form a common intention, which is called a prayer.

How Can One Become A Jew?

Question: How is it possible to convert to being a Jew in your understanding?
Answer: In my understanding, to become a Jew means becoming a person who yearns for unity of all people in the world under the umbrella of love for others.
The Jews are a people founded on the basis of the concept, “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). There is nothing else in Judaism. It is written in the Torah that the great general and essential rule is “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”
The term “Jew” is created also from the word, “Avar” (Hebrew, to pass). When the person passes from an egoistic perception of the world to an altruistic perception of the world, he becomes a Jew. So each one can be a Jew even if he is German, French, Spanish, etc. It makes no difference whom. Being a Jew is the ideological affiliation, not biological.
Question: Does this mean that you don’t attribute significance to innate Jewishness or affiliation with Judaism?
Answer: Congenital Jewishness obliges us to immediately proceed to carrying out their mission in the world.
And all the other people will reach this to the degree that we Jews awaken them. This is called being a “Light to the nations.”

How Can I Be Saved?

Question: Lately, many Russian-speaking Jews are leaving Israel to Europe, Canada, and America. How is it possible to make life in Israel more secure?
Answer: Leaving the country will not help us. We must unite. I am not saying that all the Jews should move to Israel, but they must unite where they are living. A method exists for this purpose that we are explaining and striving to implement. It is called the “wisdom of Kabbalah.”
It is the wisdom of how to discover our higher state within the unity between us and to show it to the whole world. Once the nations of the world feel that we are implementing the method of unity, then subconsciously, with the sixth sense, they will understand that this is specifically what they were expecting from us and will immediately stop blaming us for all their suffering. On the contrary, they will begin to relate to us with respect and concern.
Only in this way can we be saved and bring the world to the correct state.
Question: Does this mean that we don’t need to go anywhere?
Answer: This will not help. Today, with the general state of anti-Semitism, with everything that exists in the world, you will not find a corner on the surface of the Earth where it will be possible to hide.
It is not wise to hide behind another family name, to go somewhere that they don’t know who the Jews are, to hide in an isolated quiet secluded place, and so forth. There is no such thing! Because the spiritual force is at work. It will find everyone and bring them all together in one place.

Levels Of Studying Kabbalah

Question: What is the difference between the way you teach the wisdom of Kabbalah and all the other ways of studying this wisdom?
Answer: The difference is the purpose for which a person studies the wisdom of Kabbalah. In our organization, we study the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to unite and in order to bring the Creator contentment by the unity between us, to delight Him. This is an altruistic yearning.
There are those who study the wisdom of Kabbalah not in order to delight the Creator, but in order to reveal Him. This is the intermediate phase in our development between the egoistic intention and the altruistic intention.
Much of the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah is as a method of uniting in order to live a better life, to escape from sufferings, or to gain life after death, etc. These are purely egoistic intentions, but it is commendable because it is directed at demanding from the Creator.
Any other aspirations below that have nothing to do at all with the Creator.

New Life #711 – What Women Want

New Life #711 – What Women Want
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
A man and woman are like plus and minus; they must eventually reach a balance, the correct connection between them; the man must give and the woman receives. She must want the right thing and he must fulfill this desire correctly. We cannot fulfill ourselves, only others, so the right connection between right and left is through finding the middle line between them.
In our day everyone is “out of order”; women want the incorrect fulfillment of false substitutes for their desires. The natural desire of a woman is first of all a family, but in the last century we have lost our direction regarding this matter. We have built an artificial world for ourselves in which life is difficult, the family unit is collapsing, and children are neglected.
The solution depends on an education for attaining the spiritual goal within relationships and family, as a gift that will uphold, “When husband and wife are worthy, the Shechina abides with them” (Sotah 17a). Fundamentally, a woman wants connection with the upper force through her husband. Throughout our history we developed through our desires until we felt an inclination for discovery of the inner essence, the supreme power, unconditional love.
The goal of alliance between partners is the discovery of the one supreme power that controls nature, our source, to which we must return to in unison. A woman wants that same power of love to dwell in her family because this is a safe, complete and eternal state. Through love between us we reach the revelation of the higher power of unconditional love.

Don’t Believe Me, Find Out Yourself

Question: Why should we believe you?
Answer: You shouldn’t believe me since you cannot actually perceive me and whether what I say is true or not. If a person understands the wisdom of Kabbalah he knows what I am talking about and if he doesn’t understand, how can he express his disagreement from the perspective of not understanding?
The wisdom of Kabbalah is not a system of information that a person is served and taught, but a guiding system and a set of instructions that lead a person to the revelation of the upper world. Then he can study and understand independently and this is the reason that I cannot tell you about it.
A person does not have the right tools or vessels which means the compatible senses and attributes to perceive the upper world because it is attained only when one resembles it and is equal to it. Even when a person reads Kabbalah books he doesn’t understand anything.
I can only explain the method of attaining the feeling of the upper world and how we can advance towards it, how to enter it by the connection between the friends, by the drawing the Surrounding Light unto us, etc. A person will begin to feel and to attain this when he becomes a Kabbalist.
Question: Can we call it the hidden part of the Torah? Is what Kabbalah books describe the revealed part and what is attained the hidden part?
Answer: On the contrary, the hidden part is the part which the books describe, the levels, the ascents, the revelations, etc. Because when a person reads he doesn’t understand what he reads, but when he attains and feels the upper world, it is revealed to him, while it remains concealed for everyone else.

Giving A Person A Portion Of Light

Question: As a Kabbalist, do you give a person information according to his capacity to understand? How can you do that and is this something only a Kabbalist knows?
Answer: I try to descend to the level of that person, but at the same time, I also know that there are things that he will hear but will not understand.
There may also be unpleasant responses to my explanation and a person may even understand the exact opposite of what I said. Still I have no other choice. I still have to insert a small portion of Light into a person. Then it depends on how the Light operates.

Give Your Pillow To Your Slave

Question: Why wasn’t the Jewish nation ever loyal to its conquerors and slavery?
Answer: Because this nation was founded on a 3,500-year-old belief that everyone is equal. In Judea, a slave was always more important than the landlord, as it i written, “Give your pillow to your slave.”
Slave owners had a great responsibility since they had to take care of their slaves and were forbidden to cause them any harm.

A Kabbalist’s Interests

Question: Can a person who studies Kabbalah be interested in astrology and use this knowledge in life?
Answer: A person who studies the wisdom of Kabbalah can be interested in exact sciences that are meant to reveal nature in our five senses according to exact scientific laws! Everything else simply doesn’t interest him! He becomes totally indifferent to all the other sciences.
He may still be interested in different arts, but he loses any interest in astrology, palm reading, tarot cards, red strings, or different kinds of spells. He loses interest in anything humanity has made up to psychologically calm itself.

Ynet: “Every Dispute Is Not A Fight”

We have become accustomed to getting swept away by cultural confrontations, but in reality, when the gaps between us continue to grow to a feeling of a threat, there is a special method for how to maintain each and every opinion, as well as to hold onto a common goal above them.

Israelis love to argue about almost everything. They spar at home, flame on Facebook, and dominate the road, and just about every place possible. Even the hall of the elected public officials in Israel has become an arena for the most prominently reported disputes. The Israeli Knesset is the main meeting place for the culture of debate.
The moment that one “friend” gets up and delivers his speech, immediately his “friend” stands up against him and contradicts him. Constructive criticism for discussion or illuminating issues on our minds is welcome, but much of the discussion that we encounter today is motivated by narrow interests, not from a desire to benefit society.
Ostensibly the polarization and division in Israeli society reflects failure, but the wisdom of Kabbalah holds that a developed society is one that knows how to contain opposites within it, a wide range of diverse opinions (1).  Pluralism, differences of opinion, and public discourse, even if they conflict, are important to maintain and even intensify, but above them, it is necessary to build a sort of glue that unites us above the differences, or in the end, we will “devour” each other.
It Is All Mine
Jewish history is interwoven with conflicts and oppositions between different parts of the society in which the peak is represented by the unfounded hatred that developed among the people that later led to the destruction of the Temple (2). Since then, one dominant force has acted among the people of Israel, known in the wisdom of Kabbalah as egoism or the left line; when we use it only in its natural form, it begets hatred and division. We can learn about the intensity of the opposition between us from the proverbial: “Two hold a garment. One of them says, ‘I found it,’ and the other says, ‘I found it.’ One of them says, ‘It is all mine,’ and the other one says, ‘It is all mine.’ Then the one shall swear that his share in it is not less than half, and the other shall swear that his share in it is not less than half…” (3), and they disagree.
The dispute between the two in the end leads to the conclusion that in fact, in all areas all of us hold onto that prayer shawl in the same common destiny that joins us together. However, in order to balance the negative force that causes every person to be concerned only about himself, we need to awaken the positive force that can glue us together and elevate warmth and a sense of family, connecting us above all of the conflicts that divide us. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, this force is called the right line. To awaken it, we must invest effort and connect between us (4).
The Golden Road
The starting point for the first communication between us is the common aspiration for the better future everyone hopes for. A common goal can develop within us the readiness to concede and listen to others. We don’t need to concede our personal positions or our individuality. On the contrary, in the light of the common goal and despite the differences, we try to create connection.
As a result of this, a new point of contact is created between us. This is not a compromise or a temporary bridge, but a middle line that balances between the two opposing lines and complements them (5). The matter is similar to couples who quarrel with each other, but always keep in mind the ideal marital relationship that joins them together. Specifically, the ongoing quarrels and the desire to dominate each other creates the infrastructure that helps the couple rise above the struggle between them and create a new connection.
The Wisdom of Connection
Let’s not allow ourselves to sink into endless social struggles that will cause the nation to deteriorate into terrible corruption and brutality. We must consider all these cases as a sign that expresses the imperative to bring peace among all of the disputants.
It is in the power of the wisdom of connection to bring this unity, without deleting the gaps between us. The magic of the method is that it changes the attitude toward the dispute. Suddenly, the picture seems different in purpose and takes on a new meaning. The opposition is clarified as a unique motive that has been created for us so that we could rise further above the gaps and connect in a system of mutually responsible relationships (6).
If we don’t take action, sooner or later the oppositions are liable to lead to a social short-circuit that would disrupt all the systems in the nation. To prevent this proactively, it is better for us to take responsibility and seriously consider the establishment of a body that intentionally will guide and correctly direct each and every citizen in the nation of Israel, a kind of national social-educational council that regularly would initiate processes and social events to develop the value of unity in the social consciousness. The future of the society is in the hands of every one of us (7).

New Life #710 – Between The Sexes, Character Or Beauty?

New Life #710 – Between The Sexes, Character Or Beauty?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
What characteristics do men and women focus on when choosing partners; how does the environment influence our decision, and what is the attitude of the wisdom of Kabbalah to human beauty?
Currently models of feminine beauty have been created for us, and we act according to them. According to the laws of nature, a woman checks a man’s ability to provide her with a secure familial nest and how he will take care of her. According to his nature, a man wants a woman that will be pleasant for him to come home to, who will be like his mother.
Today everything is broken, but this is the original nature. A man has a problem with renewal. When he gets used to something, he is no longer attracted to it. With a man, sex and emotional attachment are two different things, whereas with a woman both of them are linked together. To understand everything that connects men and women, one must learn about their spiritual roots more deeply.

“I Have Created The Evil Inclination”

Comment: Research shows that people are basically ready to cooperate with others, but it is the environment they live in which makes them indifferent and cynical.
Answer: It is human psychology and not the results of a certain experiment.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the ego is the basis of human nature. The Creator said, “I have created the evil inclination; I have created the Torah as a spice,” and that’s all.
This means that evil, egoism, caring about yourself as opposed to caring about others, is living according to the principle that the better off I am, the better I feel compared to others, or rather, the worse they feel, the better I feel, and this the basis of human nature. Human history throughout the ages proves this claim.
Although philosophers and psychologists from Harvard University have come up with their own theory, life proves the exact opposite.
Question: Is it better to say to a person, “you are kind and your nature is based on connections of love” or rather “you nature is basically the ego and this is your starting point?”
Answer: It is always better to speak the truth since it pushes us to start the correction of mankind before it totally deteriorates and loses its humanity! After all, our egoism grows bigger every day, and so the sooner we begin the correction, for which we must reach the recognition of our evil nature, the sooner we will manage to better our life.
If we don’t do that, we will let our egoism erupt in the form of neo-Nazi regimes in most countries and a world war will break out between them.
The great Kabbalist Baal HaSulam in his writings told a parable about training cats to be waiters in order to attempt to prove that their basic nature could be altered. But the moment one of the guests lets out a few mice, all the tamed “waiters” throw the trays they were holding and began to chase the mice.
This is exactly how our nature operates! Therefore, I advise all of us to observe nature and accept it the way it is,
Question: Does this mean that you are in favor of the hard truth?
Answer: Of course, we shouldn’t confuse people. We have to rely on serious knowledge and not on a few random studies, and at the same time we need to change our attitude to nature.

Disspelling Myths About Kabbalah, Part 14

To Study Kabbalah Is Not Necessary, But It Is Fun
Question: The requirement to sit and study scares me; I never liked it. Do you enjoy studying Kabbalah?
Answer: I, by my nature, love to study. Even the television programs I choose are either non-fiction or about nature.
And studying Kabbalah gives me pleasure because I begin to see how our world is managed, and how I myself am managed from above. I understand where the desires and thoughts that arise in me come from, why they are given to me, and how I must react to them.
While studying Kabbalah, I am in a constant game with the Creator. However, if a person doesn’t like to study, it is not required of him, although I would advise trying to study Kabbalah. After all, it is quite possible that this is exactly what will interest the person, even if previously he was never attracted to studying. I have seen many such examples.
A person didn’t want to study at school because it wasn’t interesting to him. The study wasn’t giving him fulfillment because he saw how limited and artificial it is.
He studied the relationship between the still, vegetative, and animate nature of our world and didn’t understand what it gives for his soul, for reaching the purpose of life and for uncovering its meaning. And by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, he begins to feel that it is talking about him, his soul, the eternal part in him.
He will want to attain this eternal part, to connect to it, and to live inside this eternity. Otherwise this eternal part exists in him, but like a vestige of the dead. And he wants to revive and to reveal it.
If he enters it and begins to live in it, he will see the entire universe, beyond the universe, and all the worlds. He will become their integral part, eternal and perfect, not limited by time and space.
It is very different from the usual school studies. And therefore people who didn’t like to study the science of our world become successful students when they come to Kabbalah.
