The Subtle Art Of Spiritual Work

Spiritual correction cannot happen in one limited field of life, in a single atom or a particle. It can happen only between all of them.
That’s why when we speak about unity and correction that happens according to the principles, “Do not do to others what you don’t want for yourself,” or “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” it actually is the method of correction. It transpires gradually, in accordance with the way our desires manifest themselves in us, to the extent of whether or not they can be corrected.
How does each desire become corrected? What does a desire “look like” before it is “fixed”? What makes a desire similar to the Creator when it corrects and how does He manifest Himself in this desire?
Desires to steal, kill, suppress, or take advantage of somebody are palpable and emerge in contact with others. Where our desires are less obvious, such as our relations with still, vegetative, and animate nature, it is very difficult to find the property of mercy. And with one’s peers it is clearly felt and seen.
Therefore the Torah gives very rigid instructions on the sequence of work that we have to do: concrete desires, their order, and combination, the ways they have to be corrected. It’s impossible to correct oneself solely through our relationships with others. We must add still, vegetative, and animate parts of nature, that is, desires that are lower and rougher, desires that are focused not only on people, but that are also oriented towards the world.
As a result, we’ll achieve complete adhesion among all of our desires in all directions and at all times. One has to learn to justify the Creator and others in everything that happens to one. Immediately, one will receive various and multiple reminiscences. The whole history, geography, etc. revives in one’s memory.
When we enter spirituality, there are very interesting pictures spinning when a person starts to fix his relationship with all people, characters, and properties of all times. It is as if one goes through various prior reincarnations and stories and once again deals with one’s attitude toward them, and as if scrubs oneself inside and transforms these stories.
After all, the picture of this world doesn’t really exist: it is drawn in us. All we have to do is fix all of its substrate, as a painter who first applies primer on the canvas, polishes it, then applies a few more layers of primer, and only then begins drawing a picture and building perspectives. It’s a gradual, step-by-step process and a lot of work.
It means that we have to go through all the prior developmental stages and they attain the Creator. In fact, after the descent of a soul from above to below and its subsequent ascent from the bottom up can we comprehend its structure and the way it emerged; however, it happens in the inverse order
Then, one reaches the “parent,” the Creator. One attains Him through the soul that one gradually corrects, thus becoming closer to Him.
This process can be compared with the art of painting. After all, when we return to a canvas many times and each time go deeper into it, we eventually begin comprehending the thought that inspired the artist, until we recognize the Creator’s thought to please the creation. In other words, the painting by itself is bliss, a pleasure; it’s the action that implements His thought in life. This is an example of the way His thought in its clear form can be perceived through the matter that was correctly shaped.
In the end, a person learns all the details of this painting, all His thoughts, the thought of creation that looms through the canvas. That’s how all worlds connect together and make one world: the world of Infinity, the world of the absolute attainment.

The Most Practical Science

Question: Do we need the “street” to continue the development of the integral method?
Answer: Sure! The wisdom of Kabbalah and technique of Integral Education as part of it is a practical material realization of the ancient wisdom. Seemingly the entire theory is explained to us, but at the same time, not all of it.
What the Kabbalists of the past left to us from ancient days until our time is described very sparingly. You cannot imagine how many parts are missing! They could not convey all of the nuances of this system that comes from the upper world and descends downward; rather, they gave only a small stream of information that explains in what manner this is connected to us. All the rest of the parts of this immense system are not imperative for us.
We will discover them to the degree of perception of the spiritual world, on every level, in breadth. Therefore, the Kabbalists recorded only what would help us to rise from level to level. Even though these are thick volumes; however, in fact this is only scanty information about the enormous system, about its behavior, about the reactions, about the correction, etc.
Kabbalah is the most practical science. Without practical actions, all of its books are “dead.” And practical action is first and foremost, correction, which is not possible to do without going out to the people. You yourself don’t feel the necessity of your correction, not from above and not from them. By necessity you must be in the middle so that both this and that will press upon you. Everything is realized only in communication, in the use of the method among the people.
But you must more or less recognize the entire system in spite of it all; you must have a strong group that stands behind you. Everything must be gathered together. In going out to the public, you must feel that you are their representative; you must feel that you are found together with them. Without this feeling you cannot give the masses the integral energy that acts to change reality.

Pharaoh’s Undisciplined Grandson

Question: Why is it that every time our group takes a big step forward to a new qualitative state there are people who don’t succeed and who cannot take that step forward and therefore fall behind?
Answer: It isn’t that they cannot take a step forward, but that they cannot justify the action of the upper Providence on them. A person is taken out of the mass of humanity by forceps and is given personal spiritual treatment. It is just like baby Moses being taken out of the Nile in the basket and brought to the house of Pharaoh. There, he was taken care of, and his ego developed intentionally. He was taught the wisdom of Kabbalah and was told how good he is and that he was selected and more special than anyone else.
He feels good, until different problems arise. He begins to act incorrectly according to his ego, which means that “he kills the Egyptian” in him, and this is where his wanderings begin. It may seem strange that a prince kills his subject, a simple Egyptian, but it is a sign that he is not loyal to Pharaoh anymore and is not adhered to him. So, he must flee and escape to the desert. He goes to Jethro and stays with him for forty years. After being raised and educated in Pharaoh’s home for forty years, he continues to study for another forty years at the home of Jethro, priest of Midian.
This is the evolutionary process we must go through since otherwise you will not be ready to return to Pharaoh and confront him from an equal position, standing straight before him. Without this, you will not be able to bear the ten plagues and feel that it is Pharaoh who receives each one and not you. Moses, who returns from Jethro, is already totally different from Pharaoh. He doesn’t belong to Pharaoh’s home anymore, but rather to the Israeli people, and he already demands, “Let my people go!” Pharaoh turns into an enemy.
Moses learns this approach from Jethro, the great priest of Midian. He must connect to the concept of Jethro, marry his daughter, Tzipora, and have children. This entire process seems very complicated from an external glance. It is hard to understand what all these hardships are for: the struggle between the evil inclination and the Torah that is the means for its correction, and then the exit to spirituality. It isn’t a simple process.
These are processes that every shattered and corrupt soul must go through in order to be corrected and purified. So, people ascend and descend. Someone falls along the way, and another leaps upward. That’s true, but we don’t understand what is happening. The only thing we can do is keep quiet and endure. Only patience can help us here, and I speak from my own experience. I am naturally very impatient, but I am ready to be patient here because it is the only means that can help.

The Duty To Follow A Guide

Baal HaSulam, “The Freedom”: …as far as spiritual life is concerned, …here applies a natural law over the collective, to subjugate itself to the individual.
…And since the more developed in the generation is certainly the individual, it follows that when the public wants to relieve themselves of the terrible agony and assume conscious and voluntary development, which is the path of Torah, they have no choice but to subjugate themselves and their physical freedom to the discipline of the individual, and obey the orders and remedies that he will offer them.
Thus you see that in spiritual matters, the authority of the collective is overturned and the law of “taking after the Individual” is applied, that is, the developed individual. For it is plain to see that the developed and the educated in every society are always a small minority. It follows that the success and spiritual well-being of society is bottled and sealed in the hands of the minority.
This law is based on the original HaVaYaH, about which it is said, “I did not change MyHaVaYaH,” from the four stages of direct Light, the program of development of desire under the influence of the Light, which is the only thing that acts in reality and defines all its forms. Everything is divided into four stages and their root, Keter, the basis of the source.
Similarly, human society is divided into levels: still, vegetative, animate, and man. The human level in humanity, like the most developed of them, is the smallest in quantity because in these four stages (HaVaYaH) quality continually increases during transition from stage to stage.
In the universe there is an infinite mass of still matter, relative to which the vegetation that covers the Earth seems like a drop in the ocean. But the animate world is smaller relative to the vegetative world, and the human is smaller relative to the animate. Baal HaSulam explains that the entire still level is equivalent to one plant, all plants to one animal, and all animals to one human. Quantity transforms into quality. The development of the entire still level is necessary in order for one plant to come out of it, and the development of all plants is needed for one animal to come out of it. And the whole animate level has to develop so that one human comes out of it.
If we want to advance, then we need to rise to a higher degree, and therefore we have to cleave to someone who is on the next degree. Thus it acts with respect to humanity and with respect to every person who includes the whole world within himself. A person must gather all his qualities of the still, vegetative, and animate levels in a pyramid so that they ultimately cling to the human level and bow before him. The human level in a person is his aspiration to adhere to the Creator. If he organizes himself in this way, then he will not be scattered in different directions, but will save time and turn from the natural path of development to the path of the Light, the acceleration of time.
Everything within a person should be organized in this way, and within a small or large community the same trend should be observed. If a society is organized in this way, it will save a lot of time and will save itself much suffering. If we want to advance on the spiritual path, we have to connect to a developed individual who shows us the way. Infaith above reason, which exists on our lower degree, we have to accept his opinion coming from a higher degree and act according to it.
That is, we go forward with his head. Baal HaSulam writes, referring to the words of Rambam (Maimonides) that if a blind crowd has a guide who knows the way, then all the rest will certainly reach the same goal, although they can see neither the path nor the goal. All this comes from the very first HaVaYaH where the relations between quantity and quality have been established.

The Universe: The Mirror Of Man

All that we perceive in this world does not belong to the spiritual realm. Of all the entire spiritual reality, we “catch” only a tiny and distorted part that can be sensed in our corrupt vessels. This tiny part of spirituality provides the livelihood of our vessels, “fuels” us up, thus letting us maintain our pseudo-existence called “the sweat of life.”
Our world with all its laws, nature, and science are imaginary since they are manifested solely in fictional vessels of the egoistic desire at its lowest stage. Anything we can attain with the help of science, even if it continued evolving for thousands of years, will always remain inside the ego.
This world exists only in our imagination. Eventually, above it, we will reveal the laws of the upper reality, altruistic desires, in other words, we will learn the laws of Kabbalah that pertain to the corrected world.
At that time, this material world will disappear (vanish). After all, this world exists not just in the egoistic desire, but rather in a human being. A person includes this world with everything that it ever had and has: dinosaurs and lions, stars and planets… We don’t perceive the universe per se, but rather we feel the depth of our material desires.
To the extent of the correction our material desires, everything will “flow” from egoism toaltruism; then, materiality will “evaporate.” So, spending energy and efforts for materiality is a complete waste, since it is only a preparatory basis for the subsequent stages.
[122254]
From the 3rd part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 12/4/13, “The Freedom”

Granted By Higher Mercy

Baal HaSulam, Shamati #219 “Devotion”: But during the Katnut(smallness), one does not feel any benefit for oneself since one does not presently feel any pleasure in the servitude. … And the more he works, the suffering increases proportionally. Finally, the suffering and the labor accumulate to a certain amount until the Creator has mercy on him and gives him the taste in the servitude of the Creator, as it is written, “Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high.”
Question: What does it mean that the Creator took pity on the man?
Answer: In essence, the Creator is not obliged to do anything for us. We demand and think that He has to help us. But on what grounds? He owes us nothing.
In the past, there was a custom that those sentenced to death kneeled before the king and thanked him for his mercy. The King is such a high position that even his judgment is mercy. Malchut (kingdom) means judgment, justice. Since the King granted a person attention from his infinite height, then all his orders are turned into mercy and they are to be accepted as the most gracious. This is customary according to the laws of the true kingdom.
A person works and eventually gets strength, allowing him to rise to the next degree. But at the same time he reveals that he rose not by his strengths but he just fulfilled the condition, after which he received help from above. The Creator gives him the screen, due to which a person reveals a higher degree. It is always mercy on the part of the Creator because a person has not worked on this degree yet.
We never work on the higher degree and do not know what we do. Our task is to fulfill several conditions, after which the Creator will have mercy and help us. Our effort is important. It is established from above that for his efforts a person receives what he is not able to achieve himself.
It comes as a gift of higher mercy. We attain just a thin line of the entire huge circle of the universe. Everything else is connected to us later, extracted from the vast sea of impure forces by higher mercy. But it cannot be said that we get all this for free because the reward comes as a result of our efforts to correct the relations with each other.

Perpetual Motion

The work is always divided into two parts: the period of concealment and in disclosure. Even before the state of disclosure, there are periods when concealment gets stronger and then weaker, and we begin to understand and feel a bit more.
In periods of disclosure, we received illumination in the heart and the mind and then are drawn to unity, studies, the spiritual path, praise the Creator and thegoal. And during concealment, we, on the contrary, do not want to advance, are not happy about the working conditions, and neglect the goal. It is possible to move forward here only in faith above reason, due to the dedication of the soul and individual efforts, above one’s own desire and human strength.
These conditions will never change; it is a person who has to change. Just as he sought knowledge and pleasant feelings, filling them during an ascent, so now he must seek devotion of the soul during a descent.
But from where can we get these forces, because the desire to enjoy works only on the fuel called “pleasure”? Pleasure determines the goal and supplies energy for the work that enables us to reach this goal. But if the darkness and concealment thickens, and any desire to go forward disappears, what can we do then?
To a certain point, you need to advance and apply efforts as much as you can. There is a set limit, until which a person can do this, getting fuel from the group, environment, teacher, studies, the Creator, that is, the external sources. But one day he reaches this limit even if all the available means are arranged ideally.
This means that he overflows his measure and a prayer is born above it. He wants to work without any reward, without fulfillment, like a “perpetual motion machine”: to become a machine running without any fuel that is not demanding anything, not the greatness of the goal, not feeling the significance of his action, not any compensation.
He works only because the King needs his work. Moreover, he does not understand that King and does not feel Him in order not to receive from his consciousness any reward and motivation that could be used as fuel. He cares only about not having egoistic fuel! His efforts to do actions without any motivation are called devotion of the soul, self-sacrifice, superhuman efforts, or faith above reason.
That is his goal because it allows a very precise measure whether he really strives to present the upper force, the Creator. If he truly wishes nothing for himself in order to perform the work without any conditions and limitations, infinitely, above any compensations, this is the point through which he begins to touch spirituality at every degree.
This point is called the point above reason. It forms the head (Rosh) of the Partzufrelative to the body (Guf). This is already a higher degree in relation to the current one or adhesion with the AHP of the upper like an embryo. These states are very accurate; a person can measure them and thus advance.
Therefore, devotion of the soul is not a vague concept, but it is measured clearly relative to the human desire to enjoy. If he restricts his desire from all sides and wants to work so that he does not receive any fuel and any compensation for his egoism in anything, either now or in the future, then he rises to the state of faith above reason or devotion of the soul.
[122464]
From the 1st part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 12/8/13Shamati #219 “Devotion”

We All Are Little Artists

Baal HaSulam, “The Teaching of the Kabbalah and Its Essence”:Moreover, even the things we imagine we attain by their essence, such as rocks and trees, after honest examination we are left with zero attainment in their essence, since we only attain their actions, which occur in conjunction with the encounter of our senses with them.
I perceive everything and feel only as an impression, created in my sense organs, not in the original form. The truth is outside of me and unknown to me. Only by perceiving something within myself, distinguishing what was “depicted” in my vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch, can I consider something. All names and symbols, all phenomena, and responses, all kinds of matter, everything that happens is due to the perception in my sense organs. The essence remains “behind the scenes,” eludes material sensations, lies outside of the picture of the world that they “draw” for us.
Question: How, then, can we communicate with each other and understand each other?
Answer: We can understand each other because each one has a similar program with a similar template inherent in our sense organs. Their correspondence allows a person to pass his emotions to others because they are in the same illusion as he is. We are all at a certain level of perception and this situation allows us to discuss it among ourselves.
Based on the current “picture,” we admit the existence of our world, in which there are the still, vegetative, and animate natures, as well as people who perceive reality. What it is in reality, we don’t know. Perhaps, it’s just waves as physicists say, or almost primordial emptiness because the distance between subatomic particles is incomparably greater than their size.
How do we perceive the world? How does this affect us? How do we imagine what is happening? Why does reality specifically take these forms in our perception? How do we process the received data? How do we compare them with past results? How and with the help of what code do we pass information to each other? How do we store it to use the accumulated experience later to find something, to draw an analogy? All these are derivatives.
And the most important thing is that people in this material world perceive only a subjective picture. If they are given other sense organs, they will see a different world. If their program of perception is changed, the picture will change. Today we have already invented devices that enable us to modify and augment the perceived reality, to create illusions and false images.
Moreover, animals, compared to us, perceive the world completely differently. A dog orients himself by “spotting” odors; he does not look at a person, but smells him and by this means builds a human image. He recognizes a cat that runs by not so much by the eyes, but in the field of smell. A snake determines the temperature of objects to fractions of degrees, and this gives it a clear picture.
In general, it’s clear that everything in the world is relative. It’s relative even between people, although by nature, there is not such a big difference between us.
Question: In this case, how can Kabbalists, discussing the spiritual world, understand each other?
Answer: A Kabbalist is a person who resides in a body, like you, and who perceives the world through the bodily senses, as you do. Besides that, he has additional perception, in which he distinguishes the forces controlling the world and his connection with them. There is a network of forces before him, that’s all. But it is really everything.
[122425]
From the 4th part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 12/8/13Writings of Baal HaSulam

Learn To Listen To Each Other

Question: How do we prepare people for listening and caring properly in Integral Education workshops?
Answer: First of all, we need to work on all the conditions of the connection between them. Everyone should understand that each one has his own opinion and it may be correct. Open yourself up and feel the opinions of others, don’t withdraw into yourself and let them go past you; I have to bend and submit myself to the others.
There must be a particular technique, a psychological approach, here. Someone speaks and simultaneously I try to remove my ego. We play with this. First, I listen to what someone says and after that I must go over all that he said. A person can talk nonsense, indeed, more or less on some topic, and I practice how to listen to him.
After all, we don’t hear each other. How can I nullify myself specifically in order to hear you without correcting you and without inserting your words into me with my corrections and additions, and instead be clothed in you? For this I must submit myself, accept you as a particular standard, and thereby orient myself.
In a form like this we learn to listen and to nullify ourselves towards each other. This is the first thing.
After that we pass to the next stage where we practice talking about an idea and not just throwing out words.
Now I must convey some kind of thought that is said to be very concrete, clear, and logical. At the same time, I express it with respect to others, by being incorporated within them, like parents behave regarding their children, which is to say, from a higher level to some degree.
In the first encounter I looked at you from below to above, as an example to follow, and now the opposite, I say some serious sentences, try to express myself logically, try to “enter” into you, that is how you will understand me, will accept my words, so that they will gradually sit in you.
Each one must prepare some kind of speech that is quite logical, clear, touching upon work or something else; it makes no difference. The main thing is that they listen to a speech. After all, we always think that someone else is talking nonsense. But it doesn’t matter what kind of nonsense he is saying, let’s say, about the fish that he ate in a restaurant yesterday; the main thing is that I absorb his words and follow him. And now I convey my nonsense in a logical and clear manner so that others will absorb all of this.
That is how we teach the participants of the workshop how to submit themselves immediately and listen to each other, and how to rise up immediately and bestow to him. All this is towards a more important goal, perfect listening and full understanding, and not reminding each other of any insults and creating petty intrigues. You see, we must ultimately create our collective picture.
For example, put a plate in the center of the circle and direct everyone such that we feel ourselves as adding to each other on it. Suppose that one friend is in logistics, a second friend in technology, a third friend in assembly, and so on. The main thing is that together we feel as if we are found on the same plate.
After that we learn to say to each other only kind words and in a most sincere way. We play at being right, good, friendly people learning to be free. “Here, you are already smiling. And now sing for us some song from your early childhood.”
Make them become children, become free, relaxed, become detached from all the negativity that encompasses them, say something from childhood to everyone, or about a first love. We want to bring them out from the “suit and tie,” and get them used to the fact that they can simply be human beings with each other.
Only after we teach them all the conditions for communication between them do we pass to workshops where they can begin to clarify why we must be integral. When we bring out the common integrality, why is this summation one level higher than us and as if is an elevator raising us to the next level of understanding and feelings? Why do we absorb everything through our feelings, although we don’t acknowledge this and don’t understand this? Why is a human an emotional being and not a logical being? Our logic is only clothed on emotion and this is our mistake.
So we gradually begin to talk about how we must rise to a new level of sensations and be mutually incorporated into one another.

The Collective Is Always Smarter

In the News (from Paranormal News): “Numerous examples from everyday life seemingly convince us of the inability of the collective intelligence to make the right decision.
“Meanwhile, under certain conditions, a group, even consisting of people who cannot boast great intellect, is often closer to the truth than its most intelligent members. Averaging eliminates errors made by everyone, and the errors of individuals are mutually cancelled; what remains is the truth or something close to it. The following four conditions must be met for the group to come up with the right solution:
The members’ opinion should vary (everyone should have some of his own information, even if it is a misinterpretation of the true facts).
They must be independent (everyone’s opinion should not depend on the opinion of others).
The group must be decentralized (it does not have leader, whose opinion could be followed by the rest).
A mechanism that detects the collective solution.
My Comment: If a group is connected by a single goal but in different ways of achieving it, and seeks the correct way of reaching this goal, independent of anyone’s individual correctness, they will find the true solution with mutual support and general clarification.

A Commandment Without An Aim Is Like A Body Without A Soul

Indeed, there is a common opinion that the primary goal of religion and the Torah is only the cleansing of actions, that all that is desired concerns observing the physical Mitzvot (commandments), without any additions or anything that should result from it. Had that been so, those who say that studying the revealed and practical actions alone is sufficient would be right.
Yet, this is not the case. Our sages have already said, “Why should the Creator mind if one slaughters at the throat or at the back of the neck? After all, the Mitzvotwere only given to cleanse people.” Thus, there is a purpose beyond the observance of the actions, and the actions are merely preparations for this purpose. Hence, clearly, if the actions are not arranged for the desired goal, it is as if nothing exists. And it is also written in The Zohar: “A Mitzva (commandment) without an aim is like a body without a soul.” Hence, the aim, too, should accompany the act.”Baal HaSulam, “The Teaching of the Kabbalah and Its Essence.”
If one wants to correct one’s egoistic desire to receive and change it into a desire to bestow, there is only one remedy at one’s disposal—the Light—under the condition that one is engaged into studying the Torah with the intention to correct one’s desire.
Rabash, Shlavey HaSulam (Steps of the Ladder) “What is the Torah and the Work on the Path to the Creator”
…the Creator gave us Torah and Mitzvot, which we were commanded to do only in order to bestow contentment upon the Creator. Had it not been for the engagement in Torah and Mitzvot Lishma (for Her Name), to bring contentment to the Creator with them, and not to benefit ourselves, there would have been no tactic in the world that could help us invert our nature.
Now you can understand the rigorousness of engaging in Torah and Mitzvot Lishma. If one’s intention in the Torah and Mitzvot is not to benefit the Creator, but oneself, not only will the nature of the will to receive in him not be inverted, but rather, the will to receive in him will be much more than what he was given by the nature of his creation.Baal HaSulam, “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar

It Is Better To Do Something Out Of Love Than By Force

Question: Suppose we have an integral education class with a group of managers who have a certain problem they want to discuss. They are not interested in the connection with each other; they are only interested in financial performance.
Answer: They will not be able to solve the problem if they are not connected because this is what ties them to nature’s general system. They will reach a dead end.
Question: Will they understand the reason and the outcome and that one depends on the other?
Answer: They will begin to feel it. I think people will soon understand what our “ace” is; our method is very simple. What cannot be solved by a frontal attack, we can solve can by embracing one another. This can be much more effective than going to court, arguing, and placing obstacles for one another as a last resort: Love is better.
There is nothing supernatural here. It is simply our trainings and the special games we play that help a person relax and bring him to a state where he is ready to be with others and feels that he cannot do anything without them because one can advise the other and they can both profit by that. They should understand this, and then adapt it to their work.
People who are blinded and trapped will see and feel that they are being offered a new way to solve problems here.
When they understand that our method comes down to reaching unity and connection and that all problems can be solved from this level, we will ask: “How do you propose to introduce our method to solve problems at work?” At the same time, we don’t care what they say about work. What we care about is their mutual incorporation in one another in the correct mutual connection.
Question: When will they be able to pass it on to their workers?
Answer: They will not be able to do that by themselves because in order to start integrally organizing their workers, they need to give up their positions as managers.
So we are the ones who have to come out to the workers and teach them. Only after we train them can there be some understanding and mutual connection between the workers and their managers. They will no longer work due to feeling pressured but to feel inspired.
After four or five sessions, they will begin to feel the connection and content. They will feel comfortable and pleasant.o be in the state they are. They will not want to remain as they were before. People on the outside will seem like strangers, but they won’t be afraid to contact them; after all, they will have a friendly attitude to people, just like as to their own children; it disarms everyone.
Don’t fear that you will be taken advantage of in a state like this. On the contrary, when you relate to others this way they cannot harm you. Even when someone wishes to hit you, he will only hit a vacuum.
So, they will always be able to reach an agreement, to reach the right mutual relations from within the raspberry sphere that is created between them, and to solve problems from that point.

Going To Exile Voluntarily

I’m acutely aware of people’s attitude towards me. When I visit different cities in Europe I feel the local internal antagonistic opposition,  I try not to justify the Creator in order not to blur this feeling of exile that gives me the opportunity for spiritual work, and I  even enjoy it.
After all, I came from a country with a society that was taught to sharply feel anti-Semitism. Of course, it was all planned this way on purpose.
Interestingly, it is more evident and revealed more simply in Eastern Europe than in France, for example, where it is subtle and elegant. When negative feelings are revealed more simply, you can talk about it, discuss it, and directly object to the hatred people feel towards you, and can analyze such states, even together with your enemies. While in Western Europe everything is veiled.
It is intriguing. I am always glad to feel this and often try to summon such crooked stares so as to feel the negative attitude towards me. It is essential.
Question: What do you get from this as a Kabbalist?
Answer: We know that Rav Zosha and other Kabbalists in Eastern Europe, in Russia, use to go out to exile on purpose. They used to leave their village behind them and go to places where only gentiles lived: Russians, Ukrainians, etc., in order to experience repulsion and hatred, the negative attitude others have towards you as a person.
The feeling of exile is essential in order to need the Creator, specifically from the oppositeness of this attribute. It isn’t an inclination for sufferings but rather  the recognition of the state you are really in, but which you may be hiding from yourself.
We mustn’t blur such states. You have to live with everyone and feel them deeply; what they really are.

The Tabernacle, A Small Model Of The Corrected World

The Torah, “Exodus,” 26:32 – 26:35: “And you shall place it on four pillars of acacia wood, overlaid with gold, their hooks [shall be gold], on four silver sockets. And you shall place the dividing curtain beneath the clasps. You shall bring there on the inner side of the dividing curtain the Ark of the Testimony, and the dividing curtain shall separate for you between the Holy and Holy of the Holies. And you shall place the ark cover over the Ark of the Testimony in the Holy of Holies. And thou shall place the table on the outer side of the dividing curtain and the Menorah opposite the table on the southern side of theMishkan, and you shall place the table on the northern side.”
All the elements of the Tabernacle are the embodiment of our ego that is made of four levels. By being prepared to be burnt, which means: to totally resemble the Light as if you place a table, a Menorah, in a certain direction on a certain side.
We may say that the Tabernacle, the tent with all its features, is the complete resemblance to the corrected world but on a small scale. If we study only about it, it is enough in order to understand what the corrected state of our soul should be, in the same state, in our relations, in everything.
This means that all the elements of the Tabernacle tell us about the end of correction that we have to attain.
The Torah, “Exodus,” 27:1, 27:9: “And you shall make the altar of acacia-wood, five cubits long and five cubits wide; the altar shall be square, and its height [shall be] three cubits. And you shall make the courtyard of the Mishkan on the southern [there shall be] hangings for the court of twisted fine linen, one hundred cubits long on one side.”
It is about discovering the full egoistic essence of our soul above which we eventually put up the tent, which means that we build a Masach (screen) and the intention of in order to bestow.
The whole spiritual work begins from the first commandment of the Torah, which spreads to all the components of creation, to the whole mass of the desire that was created by the Creator.

Life Accelerated

Question: How can we understand that there are different forms of connections between us? How can the connection between us change?
Answer: Imagine that you suddenly discover that the person sitting next to you, whom you hardly know and whose name you don’t even remember, is your brother. Your mother sends you a letter saying: “I have seen the two of you sitting together and I am overwhelmed. How can it be that my two sons have suddenly met! I had no idea what had become of him. He was kidnapped when he was a small child and here he is all of a sudden right next to you, what joy!”
You suddenly discover that you are brothers and your relations totally change. This is what we try to understand. You suddenly discover that the other is not just next to you but inside you and it has nothing to do with blood ties or that you have the same mother or father, but it is directly because of you. Adhesion is the state when another person becomes more important to you than yourself. If the part called the other is separated from you, you die. So you cannot agree to that! Your life is worthless without connection.
This is the only thing the wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about: about the lack of connection and about connecting. There is nothing but that. We have a desire to receive, which we do not understand, and we learn about it by the Light that fills it from the shattering to correction, which means by connection. There are no other actions but that. If we speak about the perception of colors, music, or sounds, we only feel them as movement: either distant or close to one another.
We don’t feel those who are distant or near, we don’t attain the essence, we only feel the change. Every instrument is built according to this principle. We can resemble one another in different attributes, on different levels, in different manners. We don’t know the essence of the desire to receive, which is something from nothing. What is more, we don’t know what a desire to bestow is, something from something. We exist in a state of changing relations between us, and this is the only thing we perceive.
If the desire to receive and the desire to bestow were not moving mutually one towards the other, then we wouldn’t feel anything in our desire to receive and would cease to exist. Everything depends on the changes in our relationships, whether we feel greater love or lesser love. This is what we actually feel. We are not in the actual attributes of the desire to receive and the desire to bestow but in a derivative that determines the change in our relationship. This means that by perceiving only the changes, we don’t measure the speed but rather the acceleration.
If we move in a constant speed, we don’t feel anything and it is as if we stand in the same place (according to the principle of relativity in mechanics). Only if there is a change in velocity, which means that we accelerate, do we begin to feel it. It turns out that we live in this derivative and that we will never know the real essence, the something from nothing and the something from something, because we are the outcome of the meeting between the two.

Chanukah: A Transition To A New Regimen

Question: Spiritual work must be intense and incessant. So why does the Chanukah symbolize a “rest-stop” on the way, from the words, “Chanu” a “rest-stop here”?
Answer: Truly in spirituality there is no parking in the full sense of the word.
The idea is that in this stage we need to finish the work on all ten Sefirot and go on to correction according to the method of “reception for the sake of bestowal.” Therefore there is a “rest-stop” here for we need to stock up on the resources, new vessels, in our war for correction. Essentially, this is talking about a new method.
First we successfully introduced vessels from the worlds of Beria, Yetzira, and Assiyainto the world of Atzilut. With this we pass through the appropriate levels in the same order: zero plus the first, second, and third. In other words, we stabilize ourselves in the levels of still, vegetative, and animate.
And after this we work in the world of Atzilut in order to draw these Lights below, to the worlds of Beria, Yetzira, and Assiya. And this is the fourth level, using the receptivevessels in order to bestow.
And after this, the completion of correction is reached by way of the descent to these worlds.
Therefore “Chanukah” symbolizes the transition to work with a completely different characteristic: If previously we rose to the world of Atzilut in Galgalta ve Eynaim and vessels of “AHP on the rise,” so now we descend to the depths in order to finish the work. Here what is required is a transition to a completely different approach, a different style of work, and therefore this stage is called a rest-stop.
Accordingly, the Lights before Hanukkah and after it, the former being Neshama and the latter being Chaya, are opposite Lights. For in work in Hafetz Hesed I don’t want to get anything, and in reception for the sake of bestowal I work with those vessels, those desires, which I formerly restricted completely, I didn’t activate them.

Unity Is In The Creator

Question: How can we connect through the Creator?
Answer: Very simply. Due to powerlessness in the face of the fact that we are not able to unite, we turn to the Surrounding Light, the Creator, and ask Him to unite us. This occurs at every degree. After we discover our inability to unite, we come to the “gate of tears,” cry, and receive the force to connect, merge together.
But how does the Creator glue us if we are different? We become glued together only according to our intentions to connect to the Creator if we want to bestow only to Him. He becomes our connecting link, our goal. This is like parents who unite in one child. They might even hate each other but connect through him, taking care of him together.
But in this child, they are reconciled but hate each other. However, they love him and that is why they connect in him, in this point. This is the union of opposites. We are all opposite in a thousand different properties and directions. No person is the same. So, what can we do with our desire to enjoy? We cannot kill it; we can do nothing with it. We are only given the opportunity to perform actions that lead to unity.
We need to connect two parts that have nothing in common except the animal basis. That is why there is this world in which we can connect on the physical level just by “holding hands.” But we express our feeling by this gesture. Therefore this degree is separated from all the other degrees, from all the states, because it allows us to begin to ascend. In this world, we can slap the other person in the face or kiss him and thus affect their desire. It is possible to kiss on request, and the desire can be changed due to his desire to kiss.
I just hug someone without feeling any sympathy for him, and even feeling rejection, but due to these actions, my desire gradually changes. This is the uniqueness of this world in which it is possible to affect one’s desire by physical actions. But all this happens at a certain degree and only as a preparation. And that is why it is not considered a spiritual connection.
But if we talk about spiritual desires that are higher than the degree of this world, then there we use material desires that in no way intersect with someone else’s desires. If we want to unite, then the Creator must be between us. Only through Him, through our root, we connect, like two brothers connect through a common mother. That is why they are called brothers.

Draw Your Own Conclusions!

Question: How is it possible to tell people about the impending crisiscorrectly?
Answer: First of all, don’t frighten people in any way; simply convey everything on a scientific, logical basis, and connect all the facts together into a single system so that people will understand that we are involved with a systemic crisis of human nature, the opposition of a person with the surrounding world.
It is necessary to put a system into their hands, to bring examples of specific particular cases of the crisis: in health, in education, in information, in culture, in science, in art, ineconomics, in finance, in all the social realms of society.
We don’t touch upon politics, this is not important to us, for we don’t intend to influence it; we need to educate the people. A change in a person’s values will transform the society. If we correct people, they themselves will find the optimal way of changing society to a good condition.
So we need to show the crisis only through specific examples that are close to people, without scaring them. The main thing is to give people a systematic picture that the crisis is a result of the opposition of our ego to the general altruistic force of nature. When a person understands this, then the entire mosaic will connect together for him.
But it is best not to mention any negative facts that they don’t come from us. During theworkshops we give people leading questions and they will tell each other, in discussion together, through accepting each other, about the existence of the crisis and will draw the appropriate conclusions.

Without A Spiritual Kli There Is No Fulfillment

Question: How is it possible to maintain the integral team in ascent in various conditions?
Answer: Exactly as in the group. You see we need to support each other. From above,  we only receive the ever-increasing Light, and if we become like it, then it attracts us towards it. And to that degree in our characteristics we are different from it, we feel distant from it. Therefore, everything depends upon our work otherwise we don’t get any help from above.
In people there is an attitude that everything passes, that everything will take care of itself, the malady will pass and everything will be okay. Nothing will pass and nothing will be good. On the spiritual path it’s impossible to give a person fulfillment without aKli,vessel,  without creating the right desire from his side. There won’t be anything to give. Therefore, either you prepare yourselves for discovering the Upper Light, and it will be discovered only between us, or you simply need to leave this.
You need to grit your teeth, bow your head, and work on connection and unity. And the worse it is and the more problems there are the better. Clench your teeth more strongly and go connect with a friend in spite of it all; show him, even out of spite, how much you yearn to connect and unite with him even though he relates to you with contempt.

Criteria For Evaluating The Integrality Of A Person

Question: What is the criteria for evaluating the integrality of a person, especially the manager of a factory after he goes through a course of Integral Education?
Answer: This could be evaluated according to several criteria.
The first criterion is the group. How much does a person yearn again for the group in his daily life and at his regular work because he gets recharged from it? How much is he linked more tightly with some of his friends, but principally with the entire collective because along with this he feels himself comfortable and warm?
Subconsciously all of us aspire to feel secure, like a child who runs to his mother and buries his face in her lap, only we express this differently. A drive like this exists with everyone: both for a nation and for a people, and for a solitary individual, and also for all of humanity. We intentionally receive an imperative like this from above. Therefore a person who yearns for connection, for warmth, is naturally more advanced.
The second criterion is the family. Does he try to create an identical atmosphere in the family, for otherwise he doesn’t feel at ease there? It could be that he cannot or does not want to explain this to the family; it isn’t comfortable or pleasant for him. Therefore, he needs to arrange joint family picnics and social gatherings. Or he could establish a women’s club where women will talk about what changes they see in their husbands.
The third criterion is work. It is most difficult for a manager to work with his workers because he will begin to relate more softly with them and they will consider this to be a weakness. In a case like this, we must urgently begin to teach Integral Education to them.
As long as the managers are still “cooking,” after two or three sessions we must begin to work with the workers.
At the same time, the company does not change, for we only improve the connection among the team of workers. The system doesn’t need to be changed, it will soften and become more integral in its internal connections. But nothing will be changed with the directives and the structure, the previous linearity from above to below will remain. We only improve the atmosphere in the company to produce positive results on all levels.
The values will gradually change with the people. The revolution will happen when every person in the factory, as a result of the annual integral work, will feel that the main thing is spirit and not an increase in salary.
Then the inner need will be created for equalizing salaries. What will lead to this is the realization that a worker is receiving an amount with which he can live only with difficulty, whereas the manager receives above and beyond; everything will bring itself to a new balance. A gradual realignment will occur that will be resolved from above and not from below, but only after the integral development of the management team.
