Stretch A Thread From My Heart To The Creator

laitman_263Everyone needs to see how they can awaken from an opposite state: to find strength, evidence, inner preparation, so that from the most distant state they can awaken themselves and get closer to spirituality until they begin to feel awakening and inner strength, a new life. What is important is the difference between the fall, from which we begin to awaken the desire for the Creator in ourselves, and the rise, that is, the beginning of the work and its completion, the ability to transfer ourselves from one pole to another.
This means that in every state we control this point, aiming toward the Creator, striving toward Him, raising this connection point higher and higher. It is from the most distant and insignificant states, as if completely disconnected from the Creator, that one should try to awaken the aspiration in the heart and mind, to stretch a thread to the Creator, and at the same time to externally engage in all the necessary work and affairs that are completely unrelated to spirituality.
Now I am preoccupied with thoughts about my work, family, the world, about everything that I have a natural egoistic interest in. But along with this, there should be one more desire in me through the force directed to the Creator: the vector of my aspiration to reach connection with Him. I have to stretch a thread from my heart to the Creator on the background of my ordinary life.
Then on this thread, I need to string the group, the center of the ten, all the systems with which I connect myself with the Creator. I am more and more tied to the Creator through the ten along with everything that I do in this world.
Aspiration is a force emerging from me in the direction of the Creator, a direct vector, my desire to reach Him by the shortest path and touch Him, to make a connection with Him. This thread will turn into a ladder of 125 steps for me inside of which I will live and reveal spiritual Partzufim and worlds, which is the opportunity to help and develop communication with the Creator quantitatively and qualitatively, expanding the communication channel.
The group must create an atmosphere inside so that everyone is in such a desire. Then, I will remember and return to this work from any state until it becomes a habit. This is a necessary exercise aimed directly at the goal: building a communication channel.
The disturbances that lead me astray add to my ego. Returning back with this force, I glue everyone to this thread, strengthening the bond.1

Demand To The Ten

laitman_938.03Question: What should the demand to the ten be in order not to cause harm in the first place? When should it be a request and when a demand?
Answer: If I demand unity from my ten, even egoistically, so I can be included among them and this is how I receive the influence from the Creator. It works. Give it a try.
Here we do not transcend the limits of our egoistic desires, but we see that it works. So demand from your egoistic connection in the ten, no matter what, if only so you can exist in it in order to forget about yourself and feel the ten instead. That’s all, nothing else is needed.
To this extent, you will begin to feel the Creator in your ten. You will discover the Kli (vessel), and everything will move from that point.
Question: How do I formulate a request so that it is not a manipulation, but a request?
Answer: Did you feel any kind of connection at the congress?
Remark: Yes.
My Comment: This is what you strive for. This is your request. You will be unable to formulate it for a long time. Later you might have formulations not in a sensory form, but in the form of a desire (Aviut), screen (Masach), reflected light (Ohr Hozer), etc., that is, in the form of completely different terms: material and physio-technical.

“Media Thriving On Increasingly Egoistic Society” (KabNet)

KabNet published my new article: “Media Thriving on Increasingly Egoistic Society
Take a step back to view human society worldwide as a human body for a moment, and what would you see? You would see its immune system hardly functioning, and the organs that should be forming a unified and healthy body disintegrating.
Problems on personal, social and global scales are on the rise, from depression, stress, loneliness, emptiness, anxiety, xenophobia, drug abuse and suicide, through to income equality, poverty, climate change and natural disasters, and despite countless efforts to deal with these problems, there is an enveloping deeper layer to them all that demands attention.
What is that deeper layer? It is none other than the human ego, i.e., self-love and self-concern overblown in every organ, bringing about the degeneration of the entire organism.
What is that deeper layer? It is none other than the human ego, i.e., self-love and self-concern overblown in every organ, bringing about the degeneration of the entire organism.
The human ego has undergone a recent growth spurt, reaching record levels: it has detached itself from all previously accepted norms, broken free from law and order, and it cruelly runs over established frameworks.
Who can resist the ego when it proudly inflates its chest? What law will block it? What factor can deter it?
The Media in an Egoistic Society
The ego has a strong backing: the media.
Today, the media, and social media in particular, enjoys widespread influence and power that it never had before. At any given moment, public opinion can be swerved one way or another. With a bag full of cash, you can buy advertising spaces, sponsored posts, and other media slots, slapping whatever you like in front of people’s faces.
Money can buy fame, and fame can overwhelm everything. Day after day, one washes the other, until all are gradually weakened and surrender, and the awareness of all the organs—the police and the lawyers, the educators and the judges, the leaders and the citizens—all fall before the media. Day in and day out, the illness of the body increases; the care for other people lessens, hatred for other people becomes greater, and the cancer eating away at the body of human society proliferates toward the body’s death.
A Positive Direction for the Media Heading into the Future
The media around the world needs to be informative and objective, not captive in the hands of people and groups with wealth and power interests. It should know its limits. The media has a role to bring us together and serve as an instrument designed to connect all organs in a single healthy body.
How good would it be if all different parts of society would sit together—the left and the right, the religious and the secular, representative of all different interest groups and those at the margins of society—and all work together for one boss: the benefit of the public. All their decisions would answer to it and it alone. Every opinion would have its own space, no opinion would be subjugated, and no voice would be silenced. They would sit and discuss in a wide forum, discuss positions with experts, delve into the data, quarrel and make up until they would reach a common decision and a common message to be disseminated.
A new rule would guide their work: publishing news and content that contributes to the public’s well-being, which strives to unite human society. No one would have the right to debilitate another opinion, but only to balance it with other positions and guide the varying points toward mutual complementarity. If the media would reach no agreement, then no public announcement would be made. On the other hand, only when the information benefits all would it come out. Such media pluralism would begin the process of healing the illness of a fractured society.
A Positive Direction for Leadership Heading into the Future
However, not only should the media act in unison, but also leadership. If all views seek to complement each other, they would pave a golden path. Representatives of all different sectors of the public would sit around a round table, and aim to become a unifying model for today’s society. Such a leadership would be considered a true democracy: the rule of the people, the rule of the majority, the rule of the elected representation.
The essential and decisive stage would be to lead participants to feel unified and to create synergy upon the differing opinions. Precisely when opposites reach mutual acceptance, society reaches a new stage of development. Such leadership is what our global and interconnected world needs today.
The introduction of a just and equal rule can make decisions for all based on the knowledge that they would benefit the entire body. In such a society, there would be no need for a star who would rise today and fall tomorrow, but it would suffice to have a circle of as many diverse opinions as possible. It would be the brain of the body of society, and all would follow it willingly.
With such leadership no one would be asked to give up his or her private opinion. It would remain and be enriched by other diverse and even opposing ideas. The new situation, which would include every possible contradiction, would give birth to a new development, giving everyone an equal place in society. Everyone’s unique contribution would be there for all to see. This is the wonder of mutual creation.
Just as every cell, organ or system in the human body wisely acts together to insure the sustenance and health of the entire body, all opinions would weave together to ultimately benefit the whole body of human society.
While it seems like a utopian fantasy to envision the media and society’s leadership working in such unification, it is only due to the fact that we haven’t yet implemented any method to connect in such a way. The method that can make such positive connection possible rests in the method that Abraham brought to the world some 3,800 years ago: the wisdom of Kabbalah. Just a little effort to look into this wisdom with a fresh mind, and it will soon become evident that there is a method capable of positively connecting human society, both diagnosing the root cause of all modern-day problems, and offering a method to solve them, thereby bringing about a harmonious existence for all.

laitman_423.01What Do We See in Other People?
Question: Today, more and more people can live without a family. However, nobody has completely cancelled the family yet.
From the point of view of the perception of reality, Kabbalists advise learning not to see negative qualities in one’s spouse that, in fact, do not belong to him or her, but to understand that they are caused by my attitude to him or her. How can we apply this principle in practice?
Answer: It is written in many sources that a person sees nothing outside of himself but his reflection in others. That is, I never see the qualities of another person or even animals, plants, or anything at all.
I always see the imprint of my qualities on any object, and especially on the one that is in front of me that I live with. It is natural. Thus, we need to take this into account.
Remark: I do not think that people perceive this naturally.
My Comment: Everyone can agree with this, but they cannot live with this. Theoretically, we all agree.
Question: And then what? How can we really approach this?
Answer: Then it does not work out. Let’s put this question aside for now and later we will see that there is one solution for all these problems.

laitman_238.01Signs of the Creator’s Revelation
Question: How do we know that the Creator is revealed among us? Are there any specific signs?
Answer: When you begin to feel very big opposite shocks, you are thrown from one side to another, you do not understand what is happening to you, are not aware of your next states—this is a sign of progress.
The most important state is the descent, when a person feels that he or she has no hope, no clarity, that one is in some kind of a fog. But, a person patiently goes through these states, systematically engaging in the group, in everything that Kabbalah speaks of. Several days pass and the world becomes new.
Question: When this power is manifested in a person, what changes in the family?
Answer: It is all the same, even greater. A person falls into this world, in the exact opposite of the spiritual, which he has already experienced. One did not even imagine that one could fall in such states. But one rises again. Falls again and rises again. As one falls, one scoops another portion of egoism from our world in order to elevate it to correction.

Tie Yourself Tightly To The Source

laitman_962.3The wisdom of Kabbalah differs from all other sciences in that this knowledge and attainment is delivered from generation to generation, from Kabbalist to Kabbalist, by the continuous chain that started from Adam HaRishon. Adam is called the first man because he was the first to receive the revelation of the Creator. After him, this knowledge was passed through all generations: twenty generations from Adam to Abraham and from Abraham onward. At each such stage: Adam HaRishon, Noah, Abraham, and so on, this wisdom was passed on and developed.
Kabbalah is special because the student receives not knowledge but a connection to the source. The student must connect to the teacher and receive everything through him. He has no other way because the teacher is in front of him in the chain that connects to the source of this wisdom stretching from Adam HaRishon and further to the world of infinity.
Conveying Kabbalistic knowledge depends on the connection between the student and the teacher. The main and highest conveyance is “from mouth to mouth” (“Peh el Peh“), that is, through the mutual screens that work between them. However, there should be at least the conveyance “from mouth to ear” (“Peh el Awzen“)—the first stage of training.
“Kabbalah” means reception of the reforming light and then of the inner light. Opening the path for the light is possible only through a mutual screen, through mutual efforts of the student and the teacher. Yet, by studying this wisdom by oneself, a student can receive only abstract knowledge. However, if we talk about the true wisdom of Kabbalah, that is, about delivering spiritual wisdom, then it is only possible through the transfer from teacher to student or group of students. Here it is necessary to form a special vessel (Kli), an instrument for receiving the spiritual message passed from a higher source to a lower one.
This does not mean that a student must be lower than the teacher in his spiritual attainment. An example of this is the Ari, who rose above all the Kabbalists who preceded him. It is unnecessary for each successive one in this chain to be lower than the previous ones. This refers only to the delivering of this knowledge, but its revelation in each Kabbalist corresponds to the root of one’s soul and the efforts one has made.
This thread of passing on the wisdom of Kabbalah stretches from Adam HaRishon through other Kabbalists, and everyone who wants to become a Kabbalist, that is, to receive attainment, must connect with the teacher. He cannot evaluate how high the attainment of the teacher is, and it does not matter. If this thread has cascaded down in such a way and was revealed to him, he has to tie himself as tightly as possible to the source, to the teacher, and try to receive the wisdom of Kabbalah from this source.
The most important thing in Kabbalah is: Who did you learn from? This is the first question: Who is your teacher? The main concern of the student is to clarify whether he is learning what he is taught. That is, he must be as close as possible to the message that the teacher wants to convey to him in order to connect to the teacher and through him to the whole chain stretching all the way to Adam HaRishon.1

Laitman_407.01Development of Relations Between Men and Women
Question: How can Kabbalah help establish a relationship between a man and a woman?
Answer: We see that as humanity evolves it becomes more and more difficult. Once relationships between a man and a woman were regulated by society: a village, a small town, religions, established customs, and so on.
For example, men had rights, women did not, and everything was arranged in this way. Everything was very simple. A woman knew what her purpose was. A man knew what his purpose was.
In principle, they both understood what they existed for and how they should live. There was no opportunity on their part to invent a new type of family, new types of cooperation, such as “quid pro quo” or something else. Everything was calm and clear.
The girl was brought up in her family, the young man in his. From the relationship of their parents, they saw what it meant to live a family life. They grew up for this, married, and this is how they existed.
All this continued until humanity began to go beyond its framework.
There are degrees in the development of egoism: basic desires, such as food, sex, and family, and social desires of wealth, honor, power, and knowledge. As long as the development of desires does not go beyond the basic ones, everything is calm; such societies can exist normally. They do not have any lofty impulses.
Once society enters the degree where it begins to be interested in wealth, power, and knowledge problems arise because these desires in people are much stronger than desires for food, sex, and family.
Therefore, a person leaves the family to achieve more elevated goals. In general, here we have the confusion that we see in our time.

Family And Marriage, Part 10

laitman_963.6One Solution for All Kinds of Problems
Question: What does Kabbalah say about such phenomena as jealousy and betrayal in the family? How should we relate to them?
Answer: It is natural because we are animals, and also humans to a certain extent. However, if our highest connection will determine everything else, then there will be no problems, we will always understand each other.
Now everything is based on intimidation, for both husband and wife. The threat of divorce with all the related mess of police, courts, possible violence and whatnot is always an option. However, such an unsightly outcome should optimally be avoided.
However, until we reach perfection and combine spiritual and material worlds, all such problems will continue. Also, those studying Kabbalah and correcting themselves will experience these problems no less than others, even more.
Question: Are you saying that there is one solution to all kinds of problems: the revelation of the Creator? When He is revealed does everything become clear?
Answer: We see even in our world that nothing else remains.
Question: Yes, but doesn’t it take time?
Answer: It doesn’t matter. You need to do something, to discontinue our current form of evolution, which leads us nowhere.
Question: Does Kabbalah give any solutions?
Answer: We must begin to work, to constantly educate ourselves, and understand what we are. I am an animal, and if I engage in Kabbalah, maybe for a while I will become an even bigger animal, as it is said, “increasing knowledge, increasing sorrow.”
A person’s ego constantly grows, and he might not even be able to cope with himself. He understands his problems, but cannot do anything about it. He corrects them on the spiritual level and maybe falls on the egoistic, earthly level. But this is the path, nothing can be done about it.
Question: You say: try, attempt, make efforts. Why?
Answer: This is the path of evolution. Look at how everything plays out: some individual rises, then falls, then disappears; then another, and a third, and so on, appearing and disappearing. This is the evolutionary path. We are doing nothing new on our Kabbalistic path, we are only accelerating time. Therefore, our life goes through such whirlpools.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 9/15/19

laitman_281.02Question: Does Kabbalah suggest investigating a person’s reactions to one’s attaining the force of upper governance?
Answer: Yes it does. But besides that, even more.
Question: Can we rely on our senses to understand reality?
Answer: If we advance correctly toward the goal and are in the process of development under the influence of studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, we can partially rely upon our senses, and understand them in a limited frequency range.
Question: What is my illusion in regard to events or my reactions to those events?
Answer: It is absolutely everything.
Question: Is it possible to achieve correction intuitively without studying the wisdom of Kabbalah if there is only a strong inner desire to attain the Creator?
Answer: How could there be? What would you act according to? From your egoism, from your very great desire? What would be the reason for this? You would only increase your ego and wander within it, nothing more than that.
Question: My feeling is different on each level. It is not at all like it was before because it is deeper. Is the Creator changing for me or am I changing?
Answer: You are changing or the Creator changes with regard to you or within you. It is the same thing. How else could you determine it? I am changing. Therefore, the reflection of the world within me is changing.
Question: How should I behave if I want to convey love to people while they think I pressure them?
Answer: It is unnecessary to exert any particular pressure upon those people to whom you want to bestow love. It is best if you do nothing. First you need to feel that they call you, expecting such an attitude. Then you must fulfill this expectation.

In The End I Will Understand

laitman_962.1How can a student know that he or she is following the teacher correctly? After all, the student has no such compass or instrument. A teacher is a human who puts before me new values, new goals and requires them to be accepted and fulfilled.  I must check myself daily that I observe them and do not depart from the principles the teacher teaches me and others.
Only in this way can you come closer to the teacher. It makes no sense to imitate his material habits and tastes because they are unrelated to the spiritual and will remain unchanged even when you become a great Kabbalist. The animal body remains as it was created.
You can check the correctness of your path with respect to others: annul yourself and compare with your friends whether I understand the teacher correctly or am mistaken. After all, I am in a group where everyone learns the same thing. Do my friends understand me and do I understand them? Here one must lower one’s pride and subjugate oneself. If I do not carry out my attitude to the teacher and the Creator through subjugation to the environment that is studying with me, then I will certainly be mistaken.
Egoism will prove to me that I am right in understanding and feeling more than others, and this will be a mistake because pride humiliates a person. But in fact, it is impossible to avoid mistakes. It is said: “The paths of the Creator are straight,” and some make more mistakes, others less, but “there is no righteous person in the land who does good and hasn’t sinned.” The place of the soul in the system of Adam HaRishon already determines how much and in what everyone will be mistaken. With this, too, you must come to terms and accept it as is.
Ultimately, I must be directed through the teacher and the group to the Creator: to fight less with myself, with my egoism and confusion, and to cling to the teacher and the group more. This is most effective. By fighting with myself, I fight with imaginary things. By sticking to the teacher and the group, I dispel all these illusions, as if I need to correct something in myself. There is no need to fix anything; everything will be corrected through connection.1
It is impossible to advance unless you fall and rise. You advance a step and fall to repent again and get up again. Movement only happens in this way. After a good deed, a fall always occurs as a result. Therefore, after a large, strong congress, now friction, confusion, and disputes occur, and this is a natural healing process.2
Why is this whole world, family, work, and daily responsibilities needed if all that can help us in spiritual attainment is self-annulment toward the teacher and friends? We do not know this, but it is how we feel inside our desire: that we exist in this world among billions of people and also surrounded by a group of friends, accompanied by a teacher. The Creator paints this picture in front of me, and I am obliged to use this picture correctly: to place everything in its place and balance it in order to act inside it.
If I work correctly, then in the end I will understand why I felt as if I was in the material body and in the material world, among other people and with the teacher. When everything becomes clear, I will find myself in a completely different state, and then I will understand why this high spiritual state first appeared to me in such a material form where there were a lot of supposedly unnecessary things.
This is what the Creator gives me today, and therefore, I must take everything that I receive seriously. In fact, now I see the spiritual system, but it is depicted in my material desire, in my egoistic perception. I do not criticize what is happening, my feelings and understanding, but simply try to direct myself to the Creator as accurately as possible.
It is best not to scatter on finding out why everything around us exists and for what, but at maximum speed to advance to the goal, to merge with the Creator. After I reach adhesion with this power of bestowal, unity and love, I can gradually add the whole world to this integration.3
Black Hole
The center of the ten is the place where the Creator hides from us. If we focus on it to reveal this center, a black hole, we will reveal the Creator there. We will then find that, in fact, we are there, in this black hole, where the true reality exists. Outside it is only an illusory world.
The black hole in the center of the ten is the entrance to the upper world. This is the place where we are actually located, not in our world as it seems in our egoistic imagination. We will then discover that our world is also inside this black hole, the whole globe, the whole universe. We exist there inside as “Israel, the Torah and the Creator are one,” that is, they are all connected at the point of perfect integration.
But in order to get closer to this true state, we need to discover our connection in the ten. Inside it, we will go through 125 degrees until we reach complete unity.
It is a black hole toward us, as our egoism does not see anything good in it, only darkness. After all, it requires going above reason and accepting the opinion of the teacher, the opinion of the Creator, the opinion of the group. Do I agree with this in my egoism? Of course not. It seems like total darkness to me. It doesn’t make me happy at all. I understand with my mind that if it goes against my egoistic desire, it means it is the truth, but the heart does not feel that way yet.4

Laitman_632.4Does a Soul Have a Gender?
Question: Does a soul have a gender? For example, if a person in this life is a woman, will this soul in the next life be clothed in a female body? Or this is not so?
Answer: Let’s say it is so.
Question: What does Kabbalah say about this?
Answer: Kabbalah does not deal with these concepts at all because our world is illusory, imagined by us in our sensory organs.
Remark: But we were talking about souls, about the fact that this bundle of energy undergoes all kinds of metamorphoses and constantly clothes in some kind of body until it comes to the final correction.
My Comment: For simplicity, let’s say that a male soul clothes in a male body and a female soul in a female body.
Question: Is this bundle of energy or this set of qualities unique to people? Can it clothe into some lower forms of matter?
Answer: No, not into anything else. This is not Hinduism.

Family And Marriage, Part 9

laitman_627.1Who is in charge in the family?
Question: Who in the family should be in charge?
Answer: The middle one between the husband and wife should be in charge, the one who called the Creator. Husband and wife with the Creator between them, and He is in charge.
Question: And before He appears, who should be in charge?
Answer: How can you determine who is in charge? Why should there be someone in charge at all? There should be a focus on connection, cooperation, unification, and mutual inclusion.
We must reach a state where we understand everything without words, support each other and communicate mentally. We don’t have to talk at all, as the wife usually reproaches her husband: “You don’t talk to me.” The man is used to being more silent, and the woman generally talks more.
But in fact, the best condition is when they do not need any communication, even tactile. They just feel each other as one organism.
And so I feel my partner, my children, and my family. Therefore, it is said: “The wife of a man, as his body.” You can feel each other to that extent.
Question: Therefore, in order to truly reveal the Creator, you need to feel a stranger as the closest person?
Answer: Yes. After all, only with the help of the family is it impossible to achieve connection with the Creator.
Question: So it is possible, but this connection will be minimal?
Answer: I can’t even imagine it. It is very difficult. A person needs a healthy egoism that leads him “out of himself.”
He needs the same internal egoism when he imagines his family or some other people as close ones so that there will be a difference between those and these, external and internal. And then he can orientate, build in himself all kinds of models of communication with others and thus, advance.

New Life 111—Marketing Strategies for the Future, Part 2
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
In the future, consumerism and pleasure-seeking will transcend from materialism to spirituality. Organizations will actually help their clients progress toward an integral perception of reality. They will aim their marketing policies toward building positive relationships with consumers, like a mother interacting with her child. Profit will be measured by the consumer’s pleasure. The integral approach will revolutionize the marketplace and help humanity ascend to the future world based on shared human pleasure.

“What Can Be Done About Violence Against Women?”

Dr. Michael Laitman

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 12/2/19
On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. (from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence)
We need to deal with men in society. But no one is taking care of this. They only see examples of what others are doing and that dissipates the boundaries of what’s allowed and what’s not. The media is not portraying this in a way that benefits society. People need to at least learn something from these occurrences. Ideally that there is a very high social price to pay for this negative behavior.

What Does It Mean To Be Sorry For The Public?

laitman_961.2Baal HaSulam, “Anyone Who Is Sorry for the Public”: Therefore, a servant of the Creator who is not sorry for the public but feels only his own personal lack, his receptacle for abundance, is also not greater. As a result, he will not be able to receive the collective revelation of Godliness in the form of the comfort of the public, since he did not prepare a Kli to receive this collective discernment, but only his individual discernment.
Conversely, one who is sorry for the public and feels the troubles of the public as his own trouble is rewarded with seeing the complete revelation of the Shechina, meaning the comfort of the whole of Israel. Because his lack is a collective lack, the abundance of Kedusha [holiness] is also collective.
How can a Kabbalist feel the sorrow of the public? After all, the public has ordinary corporeal desires such as food, sex, money, honor, and knowledge. Should he regret that somebody lacks money or honor? No. A Kabbalist is sorry that the public is immersed in such desires, feeling sorry about it to such an extent that he is rewarded with seeing the correction of the public. A Kabbalist prays for the public and receives the light from above in order to convey it to people, correct them, and fulfill them. This correction makes a person capable of becoming a channel for the light.1
Restricting Egoism for the Sake of Connection
We do not delve into the study of our differences but simply try to connect and want to see ourselves as one man. I perform a restriction for the sake of connection, restricting my egoism in order to make room for the connection with a friend.
Restriction cannot be egoistic. If I am restricting for myself, it only seems to me that I am restricting my egoism. True restriction always happens only for the sake of accepting the other: the end result should always be in the initial thought. I want to connect with the friend and give him room in my heart, and thus, I perform a restriction. A spiritual action begins with the final result, with the intention, and only then it is carried out.2

Why Is Jewish Unity Fateful For Humanity? – Talk With Shaul Magid

Shaul Magid, the Distinguished Fellow in Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College, meets Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman to discuss anti-Semitism, and how establishing unity between Jews can prevent it.
We live in a shattered reality. Each smallest smart part of society, called human, lives only for a personal benefit, and has no opportunity to really understand or change anything.
The subconscious claim from the nations of the world on the Jews is that their misfortunes and suffering in life is caused by Jews. Kabbalah explains this sensation as a natural phenomenon.
From the time of the Jewish people’s birth under Abraham’s guidance 3,800 years ago, the Jews bear the method of building positive connections above the human ego. This method made them one entity and gave them a name – “Jews” (from “Yihud” – “united”).
Today, we face a global crisis, and since the world becomes more and more interconnected, this crisis will touch each area of human existence. The only way to avoid it is to correct human relations. From this point on, there is a need in Abraham’s method of connection, and the nations of the world already subconsciously demanding from Jews to implement it and share with everyone.
Therefore, the Jewish people must reunite. This is a need. If they do, the entire world will follow their example, if not – the new wave of anti-Semitism will overtake them.

Male And Female, Part 3

laitman_746.01Where Did Male and Female Parts Come From?
Question: All of creation is a desire to enjoy. The desire to enjoy for my own sake is called female part and for the sake of the Creator the male part. What does this mean?
Answer: The female and male parts were not initially manifested in the created being because the created being had to develop.
This is similar to how our universe was created from the smallest particle of energy but energy of the highest class, the highest level. There was enough of it to create everything there is in our space, which we still do not know about yet. It is billions of times bigger than what we might imagine today, with everything that fills it.
It was all born from a small particle of energy that broke through the upper degree to our degree.
This particle included everything in itself: all kinds of positive and negative qualities that later expanded, developed, and become opposite to each other. Yet, all of them came from one point in which these qualities were in a potential state with no difference between them.
Therefore, if we are talking about a man and a woman, then their prototype is such a point, such an image called Adam in whom there were practically neither male nor female parts. They existed in potential and gradually developed from this object.
In our world, this was manifested as a gradual development of the matter of creation: inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature and man.
As it is described in Kabbalah, this occurred through intermediary stages from inanimate to vegetative, from vegetative to animate, and from animate to human, who developed from an ape.

Family And Marriage, Part 8

laitman_560Feel Everyone Close to Yourself
Question: Can we say that the family is needed only so that we learn to give correctly? This is selfish giving, but at least I get some models of correct behavior.
Answer: Yes, there is something like that. At least, the family demonstrates the condition that if a person feels them as close, then I am ready to treat him as myself.
So, the whole problem is to feel everyone close. This is the method of Kabbalah. The upper light creates such an ability in us.
Remark: You said that there are five kinds of desires in us. So it turns out that I see part of my desires outside myself and feel them as strangers, and I see part of my desires as mine and so I naturally care about their fulfillment.
My Comment: The whole world—all I can see are my desires. I see myself inside myself.
Question: But I see part outside myself and part inside?
Answer: Yes. Only those desires that are outside of me are like strangers, but they are the most important for me.
Question: Where is the family in this?
Answer: The family is in the middle, on the border between the “I” and the outside world. It is a transitional link from the awareness of the external world as yourself.

What Is The True Purpose of Being Jewish? – Talk With Shaul Magid

Shaul Magid, the Distinguished Fellow in Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College, meets Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman to discuss anti-Semitism, and the necessity to understand the roots and the true idea of Jewish spiritual nature.
“Jews hold the keys to the world’s prosperity.” This is what the nations of the world blame the Jewish people for. It is no empty complaint, but a subconscious demand toward Jews to perform their role.
The key to happiness lies in establishing positive connections between people above the exponentially-growing ego. This formula was revealed by Abraham 3,800 years ago, and this is what is considered as the beginning of the Jewish nation. “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “Love covers all transgressions” were the main principles that united 70 different nations into one synchronized entity back in ancient Babylon.
Now, when the world struggles from wars and disasters, called out by another bounce of the human ego, there is a need to learn how to reestablish positive connections. This is the method that Jews bear in themselves, even if through centuries, they forgot about it.
How can the Jews open the door to happiness? By reestablishing a lost connection that follows the principles of “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “Love covers all transgressions,” and pass the method of connection to the world.
This is the true idea and purpose of being Jewish.

Male And Female, Part 2

laitman_548.02Who Is Adam?
Question: In the beginning, the Creator created a single created being. This created being or program is called “a single desire—Adam HaRishon.” Does it also consist of female and male parts?
Answer: Yes, both parts simultaneously complete each other and are interconnected.
Question: Allegorically, they say that first only the male part was created, Adam, and that the woman was later created from his rib. How do you explain this?
Answer: It is very simple. The Creator is the quality of bestowal. We cannot determine what in fact it really is because it is outside of us. When it is already within us, it is defined as a combination of male and female properties.
Question: What is this created being “Adam“?
Answer: Adam is the ten Sefirot of the desire to receive, with a natural, instinctive intention to bestow. In such a form, he can be called an angel. That is, he is an absolutely ideal quality: very small, in a zero state, which has neither reception nor bestowal.
It is very difficult to decipher this whole story but it is possible. In The Book of Zohar and other Kabbalistic books, it is explained that this is about mutually complementing each other in the receiving and bestowing part when they are practically reduced to zero.
Therefore, Adam, as we call this system, is not a person, not a created being, but a quality which, relatively speaking, includes in himself the positive and negative forces that are interconnected and mutually complement each other. They exist in potential. This power device is called Adam.
Question: We were studying the four phases of direct light. At which phase was Adam created? Does this have something to do with the four phases?
Answer: No. First came the development of the four phases of direct light (Dalet Behinot de Ohr Yashar), then the creation of the worlds: Adam Kadmon, Atzilut, Beria, Yetzira, and Assiya. And only then did the conditions arise for creating the system called Adam.
