Reaching Heaven

At the time the people of Israel left Babylon, there were two tendencies. Since then these two tendencies, two worlds, have existed one within the other. The Jewish people were mixed with humanity, and at the same time, they did not dissolve into it. They were scattered, yet they couldn’t disappear; for at their source, they are a completely different society that is connected and linked with each other in another way.
These two tendencies cannot intermingle. The Jewish people and the other peoples have such different natural, spiritual sources that a very clear and tangible separation has existed and still exists between them. This is impossible to describe and understand.
There was a time that Babylon, the cradle of humanity, was like a family. Then a great eruption of ego occurred and King Nimrod came into power. Babylon, in a fundamental way, became the capital for all the advancement of those times: mysticism, the occult, and so on.
Babylon was really at the center of humanity. And in this center a small point was created. This was a Babylonian priest by the name of Abraham, his father Terah, and his grandfather Nahor. They were great masters of wisdom, were learned men, astrologers, and scientists. They were a very educated family for those times.
And so suddenly in Babylon problems and differences of opinion suddenly broke out. The eruption of ego separated people and caused fights, conflicts, struggles between brothers, and other problems that hadn’t existed in the past. A need was discovered for courts, lawyers, guards, police, etc.. In fact, capitalist principles suddenly began to materialize.
The family of Abraham actively participated in this because it was essentially involved in ideological work with the population.
And so the Babylonians reached a situation where they decided to build the Tower of Babel, meaning that allegorically, it reached the heavens. Their arrogance grew in such dimensions that their power, I would say, their audacity and boldness exploded so much that they wanted to reach the stars.
Abraham began to investigate the subject because this subject touched him directly. I think that he began his investigation for absolutely egoistic reasons. After all, if people wanted to reach the stars, this threatened his profession, wealth, power, and authority.
Question: So in the beginning Abraham decided to go in a simple scientific path?
Answer: He had to solve this problem. People first turned to him for advice regarding simple daily problems: Should they water the fields or not, should they go fishing or wait, whom should they marry? They asked things like that. But people became so egoistic, so immersed in narcissism, and so sure of themselves, that it was as if they stopped feeling a need for him.
Abraham felt that they avoided him, and this situation threatened his future.
Understandably, I am exaggerating a bit, but in principle, it must be noted that in the beginning he was a regular egoist. He made statues of idols and sold them profititably to the community that worshipped them. In the end, everyone profited from this, since the community received a feeling of security and Abraham received his profit.
And suddenly people stopped being satisfied with statues. They felt that they were above them. This was threatening to Abraham himself, his future, his profession, and his status. And so he began to investigate what happened.
It is necessary to say that in his heart, he was a true investigator. In other words, the truth was more important to him than his personal gain.
And so when he explored the nature of the phenomenon that he had encountered in the Babylonian environment, Abraham saw a very interesting tendency in the development of the ego. During this process, people began to neglect his idols, for their ego became like a god for them. And accordingly, the fulfillment, the desire, and the glorification of the ego replaced all the other cults.
In the modern era, we see the same processes throughout the world. Why do people move away from religion? It is because the ego has grown in them. “What do I have with a divinity that is sitting who knows where if I have my own divinity: my ego, my self, that is more important to me than anything else?”
Until now, Jews and Christians have broken away from their religion in droves, and in the Muslim world, a struggle against fundamentalism is happening since they are also going through a process away that takes them from religion. As for the Indians, they also have the same struggle, but quietly and covertly. Their way is slightly different, but it is also leading towards the same goal.
There is nothing to do about it, since this is the universal way of development. Yet since every nation has a different purpose, it comes to be expressed in different ways.
In any case, the ego has become a new religion. This is just as it was in ancient Egypt when Pharaoh said: “Who is the Creator that I should listen to His voice? I myself am supreme.”
That is also what happened in ancient Babylon. When Abraham investigated this phenomenon, he discovered its essence: The ego grew to such dimensions that it became the central active image, the supreme power. Highest in the hierarchy of personal worship—for me there is nothing higher than my ego.
And so Abraham wondered: How in general is it possible to contend with this ego? “Suppose that he truly is the crown of creation, the supreme power of nature. In fact, from what I see, the impression is created that the human ego dominates everything. It destroys and builds; everything good and everything bad is done only by it, with its help, and for its sake. But if we go after it blindly, we will destroy everything and annihilate each other and all of civilization.”
This is what Abraham saw. And he was helped by King Nimrod who offered his own solution: separate and distanced from each other, to calm things down, and  scatter all over the shared space.
Nimrod was very clever. He understood that he could not do anything against what was happening by himself. So he worked for the sake of the separation process.
But Abraham looked forward: “Okay, we are dispersing. And what will happen then? After all, this is only half of the work. We truly must calm the Babylonians down who formerly lived as one family and became hateful to each other. But this only delays finding the solution, and from this aspect it doesn’t bring us closer to it at all.
“The true egoistic direction demands that, on the contrary, we cooperate and consolidate. It is true that the ego separates and incites us against one another where different interests conflict. But on the other hand, it connects us so that we can enjoy each other.”
So egoistic development is both, and within it exist opposite aspects. So everyone felt this, yet didn’t know how to use it.
“I know that I cannot get along without my neighbor. Yes, I need to stay away somewhat, to be distant from him where we disturb each other. I suppose that there is a river flowing between us now, or there is a staircase found between us. But on the other hand the neighbor produces something and I produce something, so we can help each other and, in spite of it all, we need to be connected for the sake of our egoistic fulfillment.”
Here the problem of how we correctly cooperate with each other is immediately revealed. The clearest example is the Europeans with their common market. When they were separate, they existed in a reasonable manner. Clearly, they were fighting all the time, but they existed. They wanted to connect and didn’t know how to do this. In other words, it was bad on one side and bad on the other and they didn’t know how to work with the ego.
But in fact, it is impossible to work with it. This problem was clear from the start. Both Abraham and Nimrod stood before the problem of how to transform the ego into a vital force.  How do I use my hatred towards others, my dependence on others, my desire to dominate others in a positive way? And accordingly, the same attitude exists from others towards me, which is the desire to dominate, hate, conquer, and so on. How does one bring all of this to common denominator?
After all, if we don’t solve the problem, we will be constantly immersed in disputes, annihilation, wars, etc. This is what we have seen up to today. People are already tired of all this.
Look at the modern world. From the start, there has always been unrest everywhere. Soon there won’t be any place that is calm. Latin America, China, and Japan will rise up again; everywhere there are the first signs of future wars.
How can we package our ego correctly? If this is a natural force, how can we use it correctly?
The correct use of the ego was Abraham’s discovery. Not one-sided, according to the principle of separation, nor according to the military principle of who will defeat whom, which leads to self-destruction, but a clear calculation: We require the ego so that from the hatred that typifies it, we will create the characteristics of love and mutual connection.
In conclusion, Abraham solved the problem of how to transform the ego. Without getting into philosophical, historical, technical, and psychological details that are inherent in the characteristics of nature and its laws, in general, this is Abraham’s legacy.
As a result of many years of investigation, Abraham succeeded in understanding this natural phenomenon, and after penetrating more and more deeply into the ego, there he found the higher power of nature.
He understood why it was necessary for humanity to pass specifically through this development so that a person will truly rise to the level of the Creator. And then it follows that the aspiration of civilization to build the Tower of Babel to the heavens was right, but it is necessary to build it specifically according to a supra-egoistic technology. The human ego, the construction material of the Tower of Babel, will constantly grow, but each one must stand above it. The little man stands above the pile, above the mountain that is constantly growing.
Abraham researched all the components that appeared, against their will, in that small humanity of Babylon. He used them according to their designation, and he discovered that in fact there is only one solution. And he realized this solution.
He realized it by gathering a group of his supporters, his students, that truly rose up to the heavens, meaning that they built a spiritual Tower of Babel above their ego. And as a result of this, they reached the highest point of nature, the characteristic of bestowal and love. They grew to this level.
In other words, Malchut, the egoistic foundation of humanity, reached the level of complete bestowal and love, the level of Bina.
To reach this, Abraham’s group had to leave Babylon and work for many years. Abraham lived around the year 1,700 BC, and built the correct Tower of Babel, in other words the First Temple attributed to the year 900 BC.
Generally, the concept of the Tower of Babel has passed through all of human history and humanity aspires to it subconsciously. Abraham, in the end, built it, and clearly in an absolutely different form than the Babylonians themselves imagined.

Reveal The Upper And You Will Not Regret It!

Question: Is the sensation of the Upper perceived as pleasure?
Answer: Absolutely. The sensation of the Upper always brings pleasure. There cannot be a person who reveals the Upper and regrets it.
The Upper is the one that determines my whole world; this is the AHP within which I am like an embryo in the mother’s womb. He creates all of my reality.
If besides the world around me, I also feel the one who create this, this means that I reveal the Upper. In addition to what I can perceive now with my heart and mind, absorb into my properties, desires, and thoughts, to this whole picture of the world I need to add one more special participant.
Only it is not some person but another force that creates this world, organizes, turns on a special program in it, and holds it in this state. This is the power that created me and the world I am in, but it is above me.
Therefore, any of my claims to myself and to the whole world are accusations against this Upper force, the manager, the Master. It turns out that you cannot see Him while you dwell in these desires in which you blame Him for something. The revelation of the Upper is always dressed in gratitude, love, an explosion of beautiful sensations.

The Principle Of Dissemination

Question: Midrash Gadol tells us that Moses passed on the Godly reproof and instructions to the people. First he taught his brother Aaron privately, taking into account his high level of understanding.
Then he invited the sons of Aaron, and in the presence of their father, began to explain the Torah to them on a level that they could grasp. The elders joined them, followed by the men, and finally the whole nation of Israel, including the women and the children.
How does the descent to the people, when it is already possible to tell all of them about the Kabbalistic method, take place?
Answer: Considering the organization of our group and our pace of advancement, we see that it has been many years before we began to actually understand and feel the inner material, to speak about the meaning of unity and connection, and how it should be fulfilled among us and how it should be fulfilled among the masses.
Now we begin to gradually organize discussion circles among the people and to explain why connection and unity are the answers to all our problems. This is the idea of our dissemination.
People who have a point in the heart, like Aaron, his sons, and the elders can reveal a relatively deep meaning of the spiritual method.
Men (Gever - from the Hebrew word to overcome), which means those who can overcome their ego, can be taught a bit less.
It is only afterward that the people can be approached: the women, the elderly, and the children (which are all spiritual categories of people on different levels of development), those who cannot seriously work on themselves. But thanks to their mass and by joining all the other levels of society that are already corrected, it can be explained them so that they will also receive the Light of correction and become holy.
This means that the spiritual advancement is from the top down according to a pyramid hierarchy. First Aaron is taught, then his children, the elders, the men, and the rest of the people. Then all the layers of society work together.
It is impossible to develop a broad range of training without an increasingly deeper and tighter connection with the previous inner circles. Therefore, Moses and Aaron need to constantly increase and intensify the connection. not only between themselves, but also with the elders and the men, so that they will have the power to work with the people.

Is There Love In Our World?

Question: How does the wisdom of Kabbalah relate to the concept oflove?
Answer: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah there are two types of love: love of friends and love of the Creator. All the other types of love belong to the physiological level and so from a Kabbalistic perspective it is considered affection, mutual satisfaction, and a person’s obligation to his family and children, but not love.
Love refers to what is above our egoistic level and is revealed to a person when he attains spirituality. By restricting the use of his ego and ascending above it, a person exits himself, enters into the group and those around him, where he discovers love.
The fulfillment of love is expressed by caring about those around you. What is more, these are people who are strangers to me, not part of my family, not my relatives, and I am not interested in them at all.
But the moment I begin to discover them as an essential component necessary for my spiritual ascent, I realize that I must care for them and love them, since by the correctconnection with them, I attain the Creator. Then from the love of those around me, I reach the love of the Creator.
Today love is nothing more than natural physiological actions that are also instinctively found in animals. In humans, however, love isn’t an instinct and it has turned into almost anything you can imagine.
In other words, we can regard it as a sport, exercise, or pleasure, but it isn’t the love the wisdom of Kabbalah refers to. It has nothing to do with the self-sacrifice for a sublime idea, like in the spiritual feeling called love.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, love is incorporating the desires of those who are strangers to me inside me and caring about filling those desires more than my own desires. This becomes the goal of my life. I am ready to dedicate my whole life in order to fill the desires of others since this is what the Creator expects of me.
Question: Can such relations in a family also be called love?
Answer: Only if I transcend above the corporeal unity with my family and regard them as total strangers. If not, my relationship with them is on an ordinary physiological level.
Thus, there should be a strict understanding and division between the spiritual concept of love and the corporeal one. On the corporeal level the question: “Do you love me?” means “Are you ready to satisfy my personal desires?” It is an ordinary display of the ego. Therefore today we are witnessing an increase in the incidence of divorce and breakups of the family. But this trend is a sign of a reassessment of this generation’s values.

Confrontation Between Two Systems

Question: I grew up in a village. We had nothing between the houses separating them from each other. Today, every new house is surrounded by a high fence. This image is very clear. How can we remove the border between us?
Answer: In the past we didn’t feel ourselves in a general integral system. When it began to be revealed, we began to pay attention to boundaries because we are loners and individualists.
And then we felt a difference between the integral system, which wants to connect us together, and the separate and solitary individuals who want to live “together” like in the cells of a beehive.
This means that each one feels himself separated in his personal cell protected by clear legal rules. In particular this was distinguished in the development of the West. In America there is nothing of greater value than protecting private property.
Now all this is breaking down. So we are beginning to feel how much, on the one hand, we depend upon each other and can cause each other pain and, on the other hand, we don’t want this dependence.
A collision is happening between the two approaches. From the side of nature, forces are pressuring us to connect together, from our side, an opposite process is occurring. Each of us wants to be alone, by himself. We hear from all sides, “What do you want from me? I am an obedient citizen, I don’t violate the rules, I am not guilty of anything.”
How do you know that you are not to blame? You are an egoist, you don’t participate in the general system together with everyone. How can it be that you are innocent? According to what rules have you checked that you are not guilty? Is it according to what you want? In relation to your ego, do you suppose that everything is completely okay?
So the pain that is revealed now is derived from a confrontation between two systems. Certainly we are suffering more and more. There is no choice, we must move ourselves towards accommodation with the demands of nature. For nature will surely win.
Question: And then there won’t be any pain?
Answer: Pain appears at the border where I press on you, you press on me, and nature presses on both of us. Open up and you won’t feel pain. Sometimes we fight, get angry at each other, and from the two words, someone on the side reconciles us, and we are relieved; then everything is okay between us, we can cooperate.
A “click” happens, and in one moment everything is solved, the border disappears. When this happens, there is no place for physiological, mental, or spiritual pain. Ultimately the entire problem is in this.
Question: It is said, “The suffering of many, is half the consolation.”
Answer: That is really how it feels. Pain in itself cannot be measured; you will not see its “amount” on some instrument. So when my pain is transmitted to you and other people, and I see that everyone is suffering, then psychologically the pain level is lessened, actually by half.

The Correct Livelihood

Question: What is the “correct livelihood” according to the wisdom of Kabbalah?
Answer: The proper livelihood (business) is the manufacture and production of the means of production and consumption in an amount required to provide every member of society with a rational normal standard of living and no more than this.
For example, every animal needs only food that is useful and appropriate for its physiological functioning. A cow never drinks champagne, and a horse will never eat hamburgers. It needs oats and a cow needs grass.
Likewise, normal healthy food is required for a person not exceeding a required level of necessity. With this he will fill his body and all the rest of his needs will be fulfilled only by rising to the next spiritual levels.
Question: What would be a normal profit in business?
Answer: A business must be constructed only to give a person normal fulfillment for his living, not profit.
Together with this, between us we will do great work by mutually satisfying the greatest necessities. But work like this is already included in our spiritual ascent and will be evaluated as spiritual work.
Or all of humanity will gradually begin to be included within it by devoting one or two hours per day, or particular groups of people will work in shifts, several million today, several million tomorrow, and so on.
This means that working for the sake of business will itself quickly retreat into the past. Business circles now think only about how to change some bank notes to others to return the world to the real value of money. But in any case, its value is gone and it is impossible to change anything here.
The integral world must be like one family, and in a family everything is divided according to what each one needs.

From An Egoistic Connection To A Connection Of Bestowal

Baal HaSulam, Shamati #19: He said that we must know that there is a matter of importance in the labor, when there is a contact between the individual and the Creator.
It means that one feels that he needs the Creator, since, in the state of labor, one sees that there is no one in the world who can save him from the state he is in but the Creator alone.
This feeling is thanks to the Light. A person feels that the main goal in life in this world is to attain contact with the Creator. Then an additional illumination helps him understand that only the Creator can help him. Then an additional illumination reveals to him that he depends on the environment and that it is the essential condition by which he can call the Creator to help him. Thus, he gradually advances thanks to a certain illumination on a new level that influences him and leads him.
We exit the state of exile and in it we also go through several phases. First a person doesn’t feel any connection with the upper force at all. He has no contact with Him, not even in the form of ordinary religion.
Then people begin to believe in religions and different faiths, miracles and mysticism. A person must go through all those phases. Each time there is a special illumination from Above that grants us with a certain connection with the upper force. This goes on until humanity reaches a stage where it loses any faith in the upper force and believes only in science and in actual facts.
Then we begin to look for a connection with the upper force as rational people and study the Creator as a force. This force governs us and we agree to act mutually in response to it. We only have to clarify the relationship that can connect us.
Eventually a person reached the wisdom of Kabbalah and begins to work. This raises him to a totally different level of connection with the upper force. It isn’t thanks to his faith or different rituals anymore, but thanks to the change of his internal desire.
Then he is in adhesion with the Creator, meaning that one’s entire thought is of the Creator, meaning that He will help him. Otherwise one sees that he is lost.
This is the same attitude when people were very religious and believed in the Creator ages ago. A person also felt that he was totally dependent on the Creator, on God’s will. If the Creator was merciful, a person would live, but if the Creator didn’t help him, his life would be over.
Now we have to reach the same attitude, that if the Creator helps us we will live and if the Creator doesn’t help us, it means death. We only give a different meaning to the concepts of life and death: life means adhesion with the Creator, mutual bestowal, while death means remaining in self-love.
We see how all of humanity goes through these phases, from the egoistic approach, from greedy dependence on the upper force, to an altruistic dependence of love of others, of yearning to resemble the Creator.
The Creator says about that, “My sons defeated Me.” That is, I gave you the will to receive, and you ask of Me to give you a will to bestow instead.
A person worries about being independent because otherwise he cannot bring the Creator contentment. Who else can bring the Creator contentment? Only a person who can remain independent and separate from the Creator by his ego. He keeps his desire to enjoy and only restricts it and doesn’t allow it to adhere to the Creator egoistically.
He adheres to the Creator with the desire to bestow that he develops above the restriction. Thus he remains independent and the same time reaches adhesion.

The Main Thing Is Confidence That Everything Will Be Alright!

Shamati #72, “Confidence Is the Clothing for the Light”: However, when the Light of life leaves him, which is considered that he has descended from his previous level of vitality, then he becomes clever and inquisitive. He begins to calculate the profitability of everything, is it worthwhile to do it or not.
The Light of vitality is the Light of bestowal, life with love for others; this speaks about a person as a substance, which on one hand, the force of the desire to receive operates and influences. Because of this, he wants to get everything for himself. On the other hand, the force of the desire to bestow enters him and neutralizes the desire to receive and then he even wants to bestow.
So a person is found between two forces. As it is said about two holding a Tallit, this being the person, and each one pulls him to it. The two forces are holding the person: the evil inclination and the good inclination, the desire to receive and the desire to bestow.
And the person must see himself neutrally. This means that he is responsible for both the desire to receive and the desire to bestow, both of which speak within him.
The Torah also describes this as follows. It is as if there was an old and foolish king and a small and wise child. The old king is the desire to receive whose rule we are used to. And the little child is the desire to bestow that is born only after a person matures and only according to his request.
We are constantly found under the influence of these two forces operating in our substance. From the balance of these two forces, which of them wins depends on who I will be, how I think, and what side I want.
So this requires critical self-scrutiny, constant self-criticism, to find out what is acting in me at the present moment: Specifically why I am thinking, speaking, and doing this; in this way I discover myself in thought, speech, and action.
And everything is determined according to which force controls me now: the force of reception or the force of bestowal. This means that I imagine myself as being under a bilateral influence and now must ask what the Creator wants from me. I have already begun a spiritual dialog with Him by placing myself as a neutral observer: There is me, the Creator, and the two forces by means of which He activates me.
I scrutinize these two forces and from them try to bring myself to a neutral state, to attribute both of them to the Creator. In this form, I will begin to demand additional corrections from Him beyond these two forces. As a result of this, I will reach adhesionwith the Creator by reaching equivalence of form with Him as much as it is possible in my present situation.
The main thing is to feel confident that I am ready to do and to realize this at every moment!  If a person understands that on the one hand, he is managed by the Creator, and on the other hand, he tries to use every means so that with all of his dependencies he will scrutinize and control his state, this means that he is involved in service to the Creator.
In this case, he will precisely scrutinize the actions of the Creator on him. And this is called “service of the Creator”: The Creator carries out all of the work on a person so that he will grow and know what the Creator is doing with him, will learn the actions of the Creator, and will want to behave like Him. So he wants to be like the Creator, become like Him and be called Adam (man), which means that he is similar (Domeh) to the Creator.

The 600,000 Faces Of The Common Soul

The Upper Light, the Creator, made a desire, “something out of nothing,” that is completely opposite to Him. This desire is the only creation that was ever made.
Later, the desire expanded under the influence of the Light and at some point started acting on its own. It aspired to become similar to the Light and considered the Light to be a remedy for achieving this goal through the act of accepting the Light for the sake of bestowal to the very best of the desire’s ability.
The desire is called the soul (Neshama). The maximum amount of Light that the desire can receive for the sake of bestowal is called Nefesh-Ruach-Neshama. The desire cannot receive other Lights, as yet. Only later, at the end of correction, the Lights of Haya andYechida will enter the desire. Now, the desire is called Neshama, as it bears the name of the maximum Light that it can accommodate.
It means that all of us represent one soul, one desire. In order to make this single desire act independently and acquire similarity with the Creator, it was shattered into many pieces. In essence, it is still the same common desire, but now it perceives itself as being broken into 600,000 splinters. We regard ourselves as one of the fragments of the common desire.
The pieces of the desire continued to splinter to the extent that each creation in this world bears a tiny particle that once constituted a big vessel. Our goal is to get people voluntarily to reconnect all the elements.
When connected, each of the fragments, every single person, feels as one common soul. Each one merges with the rest of the 599,999 particles, thus the entire structure to a full 600,000 is obtained. Through our relations with the rest of the particles, each one of us builds one’s general soul out of 600,000 pieces.
600,000 Faces Of The Common Soul
It applies to everybody who merges with other pieces or splinters, followed by one more fragment and then another. So, when we all reconnect, we recreate our soul and together we constitute just one common desire.
By reattaching, we reach a state when we constitute one vessel. Each of us has to correct ourselves completely, i.e., merge with the rest of the pieces. So far, we are trying to connect in tens, but in fact. the same approach applies to the entire vessel, all souls, all of creation, every single person in this world, to those who lived before us and to those who are not yet born and who will show up later, after us. It doesn’t matter when.
All of them are parts of one soul because we connect to them in accordance with our personal qualities. If each of us connects to the rest of the 600,000 parts, we’ll recreate the original unique soul. Each one of us connects with others in a way that nobody else can and every person merges with others in a way that no other particle can do in the same fashion. This is why each one of us is so important!
During the process of linking with each other, we have to constantly keep in mind that even though at this time we merge with a small ten, we still are preparing to bond with the rest of creation through our tens. This is called one soul.
If we act within our group of ten with this intention, it will be sufficient for attaining the revelation of the common soul within this group.

Patent For A Happy Life

Happiness is the fulfillment of a person’s strongest desires. In general, it appears in contrast to a feeling of dissatisfaction.
For example, hunger gives a sensation of pleasure from food, separation gives a sensation of joy from meeting a close and dear friend, etc. In other words, we are built so that we can feel something positive only from something negative.
Then the question arises: Is it worthwhile for us to aspire and yearn for happiness at all if first we must sink into suffering in order to feel happy later?
The fact is that the Kabbalistic method makes it possible for a person to experience happiness at the same time as feeling lack of fulfillment. In other words, at that very moment I taste something, I also feel a longing for that taste and its fulfillment.
I don’t need to divide this into time: now, I suffer, and later I receive. This is because for people who are involved with spiritual work, there is no question of time. They exist outside of time and move simultaneously through states of suffering and fulfillment, hunger and satiation.
This is the wisdom of Kabbalah, a wisdom about how to receive! It teaches a person to get what you want not in another month or year, but specifically at the moment you want it. Together with this, as a pair, two potentially opposite values are always operating simultaneously, plus and minus.
In our world, this doesn’t exist. Here, there is one big minus for which, in fact, we don’t get a plus. While according to the Kabbalistic method, the reception of pleasure itself invites in us a desire for it and its fulfillment.
Question: However, how does one do this? How is there happiness in this world in spite of it all?
Answer: This is possible only when I am not fulfilled independently, but through others. All happiness is latent in this because I never can fulfill myself by myself. However, if I feel and absorb the desires and deficiencies of others, by fulfilling them, I fulfill myself, for their desires become mine. It follows that I fulfill myself by existing in others.
The secret lies in the fact that I go outside of myself, discover desires and deficiencies outside of myself, accept them as mine and fulfill them. In other words, both desire and fulfillment are found outside of me, but this is my soul.
Question: Do we even fulfill a person’s physical desires like this?
Answer: We supply all of his desires, but only to a certain extent. The physical desires of a person are fulfilled only to the degree that his existence is provided for, and no more, whereas spiritual desires are fulfilled to the degree that we want to rise together because my elevation and his are mutually connected and complete each other.
In this manner, fulfillment of the desires of others gives us a feeling of happiness.

Healing Through Pain

Question: Pain is one of the common indicators we are confronted with when talking about health or its absence. We strive to be released from pain in all possible ways and methods. However, certainly, doesn’t the mechanism of pain have a function?
Answer: First of all, when we are talking about some phenomenon, we must understand its origin. The source of the nervous system, like all systems, all of matter, life, and creatures, is the desire to receive. Primitive organisms have no nervous systems, but only a kind of transfer of acids and electric fluctuations characteristic of atoms and molecules.
To the degree of the growth of the desire, a body develops unique systems within it that are concerned about its well-being, health, and feeling good. On a particular level, together with the other systems in the body, the nervous system develops.
Systems of good and evil support each other and pain protects us. Without pain, I would not feel my hand nearing fire or that some disturbances are happening in the body. So, remedies for relieving pain are, in fact, contrary to nature.
Pain develops on several levels. Sometimes, it is difficult to separate physical, corporeal, and mental pain, pain from the past, the present, or future, my pain and the pain of someone I love or hate. Here, we suddenly begin to exit our bodies and participate in the feeling of pain or its opposite, happiness, in external systems according to the degree of connection with them, regardless of their being good or bad.
Why must lovers fight sometimes? Why is it impossible to live like two angels on a rosy cloud? This is because, in this way, they can feel the limitations between them and their degree of penetration into each other. Pain contains a lot of information, like an electrical discharge through which it is possible to convey great amounts of data.
It is clear that we are linked with each other through our physiological systems, but, among them, there is a particular pronounced complexity to the pain system. It reaches very high levels, moving from physical pain to mental and spiritual pain. Sometimes, depression can be helpful. It never has been as exaggeratedly emphasized as it is today.
Depressive states stop a person and relax him. They are aroused for him to get along correctly where he is, not to get any closer to other people because of the risk of epidemics. Depression now rises from a corporeal level to a mental level and even the spiritual system.
This becomes a big problem for modern medicine that, as far as it seems, doesn’t feel sufficient profitability in this direction, so it doesn’t get involved with it.
In fact, through happiness and good influences on a person, we definitely can heal most illnesses. Without a doubt, this is relevant to modern diseases like cancer, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
Question: Is there a difference between pain and suffering?
Answer: Suffering is relevant to systems connected to understanding the source of pain. It is associated with a feeling of guilt, dependence or interdependence on someone. Suffering is more relevant to a state of mind than it is to a physiological feeling.

What A Pleasure It Is To Delight Others!

Our advancement along the spiritual path is divided into two phases. During the first phase, a person cannot and is unable to connect himself to the Creator, and the Light doesn’t have much influence on him. In the second phase, he begins to feel that there is a certain connection, a certain relation to the Creator, thanks to the influence of the Light.
He doesn’t really understand where it comes from, but he begins to notice it. It is just like in ordinary life when you don’t notice a certain person and all of a suddenly he becomes important to you and you begin to think about him and take him into account. The same thing happens with the Creator. A person begins to assess the states he is in, to check and examine whether there is any connection with the Creator, if it will delight Him, if He will enjoy it, and if He will respond to it.
Just like in any other process of development, the change is the result of the influence of the Light that Reforms. A person begins to pay attention to whether he relates to the Creator in any way in his actions and thoughts, how the Creator relates to him, and whether He is happy and enjoys it.
Here the image that he has of the Creator is important: Does he identify the Creator with the attribute of love and bestowal that is revealed in the public, in the people?
Baal HaSulam, Shamati #19: Also, one needs to conduct oneself with the will to receive and say to it, “I have already decided that I do not want to receive any pleasure because you want to enjoy. This is because with your desire I am forced to be separated from the Creator, since disparity of form causes separation and distance from the Creator.”
This determines what side a person is on. The more important it is to him that the Creator receives benefit, the less he notices his own benefit and the more personal pleasure he receives by delighting the Creator. This becomes the most important benefit for him.

Real Love And Not Hypnosisdiss

Question: How will an integral system help me cope with fear? Now I know only that I have no money in my wallet.
Answer: First, it is important to establish a proper relationship with family members, then with the environment. A person depends on the environment. All that is in his apartment was obtained through society.
Each individual is dependent on society and cannot be disconnected from it.  So let’s see how we can tie ourselves to the society so that everyone feels comfortable and, at the same time, feels responsible. Then there will be more confidence.
We must introduce a question of reciprocity between money and egoism and a requirement to be considerate towards others. Otherwise we would eat each other, like a cancer eats an entire body.
All this has to be explained gradually, attracting the evidence of scholars and the media so that a person would learn it in its entirety. We’re talking about feelings, the ones that gnaw at us and are impossible to neutralize with money: fear, worry, uncertainty.
Question: Why can a society give me, as a person, the warmth and confidence, which I myself cannot achieve?
Answer: Confidence, warmth, love, and a pleasant sensation are received from the outside, and depend entirely on the environment, and never on one’s self or one’s inner feelings. We can influence you so that we can take you through all the senses, from one extreme to the other. We will fill all of your bodily material desires with the optimal basket of consumption and all your human aspirations above this basket. What else?
A person should be able to keep himself in the inner equilibrium, inner harmony, and to feel good. Can it be completely healthy? Yes, and is due to the positive vibrations that emanate from society. And this is the real state, not an illusion or hypnosis.

Levels Of Perceiving The Torah

The Torah is a spiritual instruction, through following it a person gradually attains the end of the correction of the soul. At first glance many parts of the Torah seem to be repetitive, but these repetitions are on the next, higher level.
When I went to school, for example, I understood the laws of physics without a problem and they seemed quite simple. I wondered how deeper and more complex they were when I studied them at university, since they seemed the same but it was on a totally different level of study.
Therefore, it is impossible to fulfill the laws of the Torah if you are not on the matching spiritual level. It is impossible to attain the next level if you haven’t prepared your five senses for it.
It is like teaching a dog morality. Of course, he can perceive your mood instinctively, but he will never perceive the moral message. If you want him to behave properly you have to descend to his level and make it understood through reward and punishment what is allowed and what is not. He will perfectly understand that he shouldn’t take food from the table because he will receive a blow, not because you are expecting guests and the table is set for them.
Explaining the systems of prohibitions to a human being can take on totally different forms of morality, which means that everyone understands according to his level.
Therefore, although the stories in the Torah are conveyed in the same words, their levels are very different, just like the difference between the perception of a man and a dog.
Question: What does the processing of the spiritual level mean?
Answer: It means that you have properly combined and connected all the desires that can be used on a certain level, made them into a general desire (a general vessel) and have received in it the measure of Light in order to bestow that you should receive on that level.
When you work in order to bestow, you create for others the attribute of love and mercy. This is the work on the given spiritual level. The same thing repeats on the next level but with totally different conditions.

A Healthy Body Reflects A Balanced Soul

Question: What is Kabbalah’s view on health?
Answer: All types of health disciplines such as physiology, ethics, morals, and psychology are the essence of the balanced system called the human being. All these disciplines are interconnected.
Based on our life experiences we know how psychology influences physiology and visa versa. If we take care of our “I,” the highest level of the human in us, we influence the lowest levels of the subsystems.
Therefore, Kabbalah tells us that first and foremost the soul has to be corrected. This is the balance of self needed in order to balance oneself out with the rest of the world and be in harmony and homeostasis with it. Then the lowest physiological systems will come to balance due to the upper system’s influence and gradually arrive to be in order.
This is the cure, according to Kabbalah. The same point of view exists in Eastern healing practices. They state that the human being is a micro world, and as such must be in complete internal balance on all levels as well as in external balance with the world.
To reach such equilibrium, we must have correct education and societies, which are the shell in which we exist and with which we have to interact while being fully integrated. This will naturally balance us out internality.
This is why treatment of a person should not come from the elimination of all kinds of symptoms, but only from the upper levels that, according to the hierarchy, will bring the entire system into balance from the top down.
We don’t need to delve into the bodily physiological properties; we have to bring the soul into balance. The body will then comply and regain health all on its own.
Treatment of separate body organs doesn’t bring any results since we have no idea how they are even related. It’s like fixing one thing, but breaking another. Any medication itself is a poison, and it is not for nothing that the symbol of medicine is a poisonous snake.
We see that taking medication doesn’t lead to a complete cure and a person continues to be sick. A person’s soul must be balanced in order for a person to be healthy. As saying goes, a sound mind is in a sound body.
Comment: Just like in ancient Chinese medicine, a doctor will receive his payment for a person being completely healthy and not just for treating separate organs.
Answer: Yes, but this will be a completely different doctor. It won’t be a doctor-Kabbalist, but it will be an instructor who will correctly tune a person into homeostasis with the environment.
