The Essence of The Spiritual Work

Laitman_101All the states that we undergo in the spiritual work are forms of our connection with the Creator; each time they are different.Although it seems to us that we are at work or with family, at home or on the street, going or flying somewhere—all this is our imagination at play.
In reality, these are depictions of our connection with the Creator, which take on different forms of external circumstances. There is nothing other than that!
Therefore, all my work is to determine the true state: to understand that I am in connection with the Creator and that I must discover Him as the first, the one who creates this state for me, and the last, as I have to reach the state of “None else besides Him.”
I have to determine that He really assembled this state for me, He organized it and gave it to me so that based on all the currently available facts, to the extent of the breaking that is revealed in me, I would establish that everything comes from Him, starting with the preparation and ending with the state where I connect with the Creator, to the extent possible at the moment.
This is our work.

Awake From A Dream

laitman_750.03Torah, Exodus 23:31: And I will make your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the river, for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hands, and you shall drive them out from before you.
The land of Israel, in principle, is not big, that is, the egoistic desire of man is very small. But at spiritual levels, it gradually grows. When a person ascends from a small spiritual level to a higher and higher one, he reveals the whole world.
This is not our universe, which in itself does not represent a serious spiritual volume; it is simply a zero; it does not exist. In the true world where we really are, it does not exist. It is like our reflection.
We do not know and do not see ourselves. It is as if we are sleeping now, living our material life in a dream. In this dream, we are given the beginning of the spiritual work, which helps us to awaken.
If we wake up with its help, that is, enter the spiritual world, we see that everything that was inside us before is just an illusion. We had all kinds of brain fluctuations and we pictured everything in our imagination. And now we are real, spiritual.
Therefore, material life with respect to the spiritual is like a dream. After all, we do nothing, we do not perform any material actions, and even the desires that we allegedly use are not desires—they are nothing.
But as soon as you wake up, that is, as soon as you are born spiritually, you understand that everything that occurred earlier was a dream.
Now the question arises: if a person awakens from sleep and begins to live in a spiritual volume, in another dimension, how does he, while performing some actions, suddenly appear in this dream and begin to help others exit it? How does he plunge into this? In other words, he has reached a certain spiritual level and is told: “You must be in the dream with those who are still in it.”
Question: That is, a Kabbalist, like a stalker, is sent to awaken humanity from sleep and lead it into a new state and does this work?
Answer: Of course! In spirituality, you are shown this necessity and it becomes yours.

New Life #419 – Being In A Good Connection With Everyone

New Life #419 – Being In A Good Connection With Everyone
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
We can build a positive connection with everyone on Earth through the power of bestowal. We start with one small circle of around ten friends who learn to relate to each other as “one person with one heart.” This means each friend feels what the other friends are missing and fulfills their desires. Then, each of the original ten friends can develop additional circles with new people. All of the circles connect like gears and we end up having good relationships with everyone!

Is There Love Without A Cause?

627.2Question: Can the word “love” be replaced with “balance between opposing forces” or “harmony between bestowal and reception”?
Answer: There are two types of love: love of self and love of the other or internal love and external.
If love is directed toward oneself, then this is that same egoism. I love to eat well, drink good wine, fulfill myself with sexual pleasure, travel, play with my child, and so on. All of this is nothing but manifestations of egoism. I love the child because he is mine; since I love myself, I also love him.
Why should this be called a certain type of love? They are simply manifestations of egoism. Naturally, for the person it is very nice and pleasant, well, there are even many so called demonstrations of self-sacrifice. But, the individual, of course, pays for it.
Question: Can it be said then, from a Kabbalistic point of view, that just as there is hatred without cause, there is love without cause?
Answer: Love cannot be without a cause. It is simply necessary to identify where the cause lies. Even if it is called love without a cause, it just means that we did not make the effort or are unable to identify its cause, or the cause lies above our egoism and that’s why we call it that.

Kabbalah Lessons, Part 4

laitman_939.02The main thing in the study of Kabbalah is not the acquisition of knowledge but the use of the wonderful property of learning (Segula), about which Baal HaSulam writes in the Introduction to the Study of the Ten Sefirot.
Through the study, we are influenced by the force that develops altruistic qualities and love of one’s neighbor in us. And with the help of these qualities, we attain the upper world, the system that controls us.
It does not depend on the volume of material studied but only on the true intention in the heart, on the effort to become bestowing and loving, which the Kabbalah sages speak about.
Question: Where in the Kabbalistic books is the force that makes such qualitative changes in a person that he reveals a new reality?
Answer: The Kabbalistic books were written by Kabbalists who reached high degrees of bestowal and love for their neighbor and describe all these spiritual actions. When we read, we want to attain what they attained, to become bestowing like them, and to reveal the Creator. We try not to be deceived by imagining the Creator somehow differently but only as the general force of bestowal and love that we want to become similar to.
We begin to change in the direction of bestowal to our neighbor, we get closer and do everything for each other because only in this way will we be able to reveal the Creator. We try to convince ourselves that in this way we are advancing and want changes to take place in us.
Every day I check: have I started treating my friends better? I look for how I can reach love of the neighbor for myself in order to come from the love of the creatures to the love of the Creator.
Question: What is the role of a teacher in studying Kabbalah?
Answer: The role of a teacher is to awaken the ability to hear what the wisdom of Kabbalah says in a person. After all, a person listens to what is said about love for the neighbor, but what is said as if falls on deaf ears. Yet, if he does not fulfill this condition, he will not reveal the Creator and all his studies will be in vain.
Question: What is the difference between a regular teacher and a Kabbalah teacher?
Answer: The Kabbalah teacher is a guide who leads a person through all of his internal and external states so that the student will eventually understand that the main thing is love for the other.
Without a teacher, it is impossible to study Kabbalah because a person in this life is guided by his egoism. Therefore, he will never be able to direct himself to correct actions, that is, to bestowal to the friend that leads to bestowal to the Creator.
Question: How does one select a Kabbalah teacher and check that he is a real one?
Answer: First of all, this is determined according to the feeling in the heart. Besides, you need to check where this person has studied—this is very important. It is not for nothing that Kabbalah has its name “Reception,” because it is transferred as a spiritual legacy from the teacher to the disciple.
It was always this way in the past and only recently we see that the mass study of Kabbalah in big groups has begun. Therefore, a teacher passes his knowledge not to one disciple, but to the entire group.
Kabbalah can be taught by someone who has received it from a recognized Kabbalist, has been engaged in it for many years, and can explain what is written in the original sources.
Question: Are there any preliminary requirements for a person to start studying Kabbalah?
Answer: It is necessary to be in a normal state in the physical, psychological, and mental sense. No other conditions and no exceptional abilities are required. All people should eventually become Kabbalists and reveal the Creator in this world.
Question: What if a person does not like to study and is not inclined to science?
Answer: It is written: “It is not the wise who learns,” but the one who, according to the inclination of the heart, aspires to know what he is living for, what the meaning of his life is. If a person cares about these questions, this indicates his readiness for spiritual development.
Question: Children always look forward to holidays. Does a Kabbalah student also perceive learning as something burdensome?
Answer: There are no awards or degrees given for the study of Kabbalah. Therefore, a person who wants to study will have to pay for it with his time and efforts. In return, he will receive spiritual satisfaction from the fact that he is engaged in the most exalted thing that can exist, not only in our world, but in all of reality in general.

Dispersion Of The Jews Among Other Nations

Laitman_419Question: What is the spiritual meaning of the dispersion of the Jews among other nations following the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans?
Answer: The spiritual meaning of the Jews’ dispersion is for them to dissolve in the other nations, as written in The Book of Zohar. This refers to the spiritual and mental penetration, rather than the physical one—it refers to culture and one’s approach to everything.
The Jews are not a nation, but parts of all the nations living in Ancient Babylon. Those that Abraham gathered comprised only 5% of the people of Babylon. The other 95% of the residents of Ancient Babylon dispersed across the whole world.
Now, after the Jews have gone through great suffering in the Egyptian and Babylonian bondage, the destruction of the First and Second Temples, and 2,000 years of exile, their mixing with the nations of the world is complete. In the process, their Reshimot (spiritual informational data) have completely dissolved in the other nations. This is why the wisdom of Kabbalah is already being revealed as the method of correction of all humanity.
It is open to any person who asks the question about the meaning of life. And there is no difference between people of different nationalities.

New Life #418 – What Is A Good Connection Between People?

New Life #418 – What Is A Good Connection Between People?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
We need mutual connection in order to feel whole in this life. We live in an integral system so when we care for others, we also benefit ourselves. The best way to care for others is to feel what they are lacking and fill these desires. Like a baby in his mother’s arms, we could all feel this perfect connection if we learned the proper way to give and receive.

The Spiritual Component And Earthly Love

Laitman_121Question: How can one correctly add a spiritual component to earthly love between husband and wife?
Answer: It is possible to add a spiritual component between husband and wife only when they understand what they are doing and why they exist.
They must realize that they have a unique opportunity to conduct themselves in all situations in life in such a way that they train on each other in mutual influence. Then they will be able to attain the revelation of the Creator, as it is written: “A husband and wife have, the Shechina between them.”
But only if they really are serious about achieving that goal. Because they must “step on themselves” and help each other.

Lie And Truth, Part 1

laitman_207Question: The truth is that we lie almost constantly and every day, starting from the small tricks and covering up small flaws to the biggest deception and slander. Lying is part of our life.
A child begins to lie from the early childhood, even without understanding what he is doing. We are touched when a child with his face smeared with chocolate confidently answers, “It wasn’t me!” to the question, “Who ate the candy?” So, what is the meaning of a lie and how does it develop a person?
Answer: Lies lie in the foundation of creation as the opposite of truth. Truth and lie are of equal importance because they cannot exist without each other. We must evaluate one relative to the other; otherwise, we will feel nothing. There is no evil without good; there is no good without misfortune; there is no darkness without light and so on.
Therefore, there is always a lie inside the truth and vice versa. If we delve deeper inside the basics of creation, then there is the Light, which is truth. After all, the Light is the only thing that exists; there are only bestowal and the common connection of all the parts of creation. A lie, the darkness comes every time wishing to separate, disunite and even break the entire creation.
This is precisely what happened during the sin of the Tree of Knowledge. It is written that a lie can only exist if it grows out of some kind of truth. Therefore, Adam and Eve (Havah) tried the apple first, because they were sure that it was possible to eat it and enjoy it for the sake of bestowal and there can be no prohibition. This indeed was the truth.
However, when they continued to eat, they already could not avoid the temptation and found themselves in a lie. That is, the lie grows out of the truth, and we are a result of the lie, of that tremendous shattering that happened to our souls in their very basis.
Therefore, if we want to come to truth, we must go through lies, tearing through it as if through a dark, dense forest, and then possibly we will gradually reach the truth.
It is “possible” because it is really extremely difficult to do. Besides, this opportunity depends on our development, which is provided by the wisdom of Kabbalah through the Light that returns to the source. After all, otherwise we do not see at all where the truth is and where the lie is, exactly like the child who assures that he did not eat the candy despite obvious evidence. We do not understand and do not realize our lie, because the lie is our primordial quality.
Therefore, we must forgive lies, treat each other with understanding, and we should learn to rise above all these lies, perceiving them as cute children’s mischief. After all, this is our nature.
The world cannot exist without lie, and it is only in the presence of lies that truth can exist. It is good if they exist in equal amounts, because so far we live in the world of complete deception. And those bits of truth that exist in it are meant only to make a lie look like truth.

New Life #417 – Retiring From The Labor Force

New Life #417 – Retiring From The Labor Force
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
Retirement provides the elderly with a unique opportunity to learn the wisdom of Kabbalah. Rather than ending life feeling useless and alone, old age could be spent learning how to build social connections between people at all levels of society. By learning how to use the ego correctly and teaching this wisdom to others, senior citizens could prosper and blossom as leaders of society, in their old age.

The Revelation Of Kabbalah From Generation To Generation

laitman_933Question: The Book of Creation (Sefer Yetzira) written by Abraham is a magnificent, poetic, and rigidly constructed work. It is a pleasure to read, but only occaisional thoughts are understandable. Is there a key to understand it?
Answer: For this one must study Kabbalah. For example, how is science different in every generation? It is by the fact that it develops and more and more and reveals the previously unknown. Therefore, Kabbalists in each generation, as in science, can reveal more and more.
The book of Abraham is written more smoothly than the book of Adam. Abraham, through his attainments, complemented what Adam had written and revealed Kabbalah more deeply. And all the others followed him.
Once the group of Abraham began the spiritual work, it started to attain the quality of bestowal in the connection between them, the upper quality, the Creator. If people restore good connections of mutual love, mutual responsibility, and mutual understanding between them, then to the extent that these connections are true, the Creator is revealed within them. This network of connections is called a vessel in which the upper force is revealed.
Abraham discovered the method of attaining the upper force in the connection between people. And Moses mastered this method in practice. People of his generation underwent tremendous egoistic descents that are called “the Egyptian exile.”
They plunged into a very great egoism, but at the same time, they were able to rise above it in their unification so that in the connection of two opposite tendencies, a great egoistic rejection and simultaneously a common aspiration to connection, separation and rapprochement, they created conditions in which the Creator was revealed. This was the achievement of Moses that he described in the Torah.
What Moses and his group did was a big leap forward compared to what Abraham achieved. Therefore, the generation of Moses completely rose above our world, revealed the Creator in the connection between them, and reached the highest state that has never been overcome until our time. To this day, Moses is the greatest spiritual leader of the people.

New Life #416 – Community Life: The Elderly
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Summary
The elderly have much to offer society since we are all connected. They have an opportunity to learn without pressure and add their wisdom to the society at large by continuing to participate in giving and receiving. In fact, strenuous mental work is important in old age in order to maintain a sense of usefulness and a lively spirit. The mind can stay lucid for 120 years!

Kabbalah Lessons, Part 3

laitman_938.04Question: If the purpose of studying the wisdom of Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator, then with the help of which tools are we going to reveal Him? We can see microbes through a microscope and stars through a telescope, but through what can we reveal the upper force?
Answer: The upper force is revealed within my relationship with the friends I study with in the same group. To the extent that I treat others with love, care, and compassion, give them the most important place in my life, and develop within myself the force of bestowal in relation to them, I reveal a network of connections between us.
This network exists from the very beginning. We do not create it, but only build the tools for its revelation.
Our connection already exists and has always existed; we are just revealing it in order to feel the flow of the forces of bestowal and love within it that create the feeling of the Creator in us.
Question: Where is the upper force revealed: in the feeling or in the mind?
Answer: The upper force is first revealed in the feeling and then in the mind.
Studying is conducted on the basis of the Kabbalistic sources and includes two parts.
One part is dedicated to the study of the structure of the universe, the spreading of the worlds, PartzufimSefirot, and souls, and how everything was created before a person discovers himself here in this world existing in a biological body and feels the desire to reveal his roots, his source.
When a person makes this discovery, he begins to study it rising from the bottom upward: from himself existing today, through the friends in the ten, to the attainment of the entire ladder of spiritual degrees, that is, of all the forces descended to him, gradually recognizing them more and more.
Both parts of learning: the study of the structure of the universe and its creation from above downward, as well as the ascent back upward from the reality we find ourselves in today have only one purpose: to reveal the upper force of bestowal called the Creator.

What Prevents Happiness?

Laitman_036Remark: Scientists came to the conclusion that by 2050, the world will face 10 major problems: human genetic modification, increasing proportion of elderly population, disappearance of cities, evolution of social networks, new geopolitical tensions, security of transportation, diminishing natural resources, colonization of other planets, expansion of human brain capabilities, and growing influence of artificial intelligence. (BBC “10 Grand Challenges We’ll Face by 2050“)
Answer: None of this will happen. All of our current development is leading us to a dead end. It seems like we can deal with so many problems, populate other planets, and develop deserts, anything. We can build, destroy, and delude ourselves no matter what. But our egoism will not allow it.
It will make our life unbearable and will lead to continuous fighting between us: between family members, children, parents, residents living in the same city, in the same neighborhood; it won’t matter where or what. We will not be able to get along with each others. And it will be a terrible life. Egoism will lead us to this state.
No inventions will help us. They will provide nothing. First of all, we will use them to subjugate other people, to profit from, and pressure everybody. We see how technology develops and what it is used for.
So, let’s see what prevents us from being happy!
Happiness is not about settling on other planets—these lifeless celestial bodies, and it’s not about driverless cars, or living till the age of 200. It is quite enough for us to live seventy or eighty years. No need for more! It’s not a question of how long one lives, but how one lives! Anyway, you cannot escape death. To push it away is just a senseless human pursuit.
We need to make it so that we will begin to feel ourselves eternal, existing infinitely while still alive in this world. This is the solution to the problem. And we should not look for solutions to everyday problems according to our egoism. Egoism will spoil everything anyway.
We cannot say that today we are happier than those who lived 50 years ago. They did not have the electronic gadgets that we play with now, but they were not less happy because of it.
I see that according to current statistics, people are less happy, humanity is in deeper depression. Today, everyone starts to think about how and where to consume marijuana or something else to “check out.” Why should a person live for 200 years? So 100 of them will be spent in a drugged delusion?!
We must create a good life for ourselves. This is achieved very simply, through good relations between us. Otherwise, Armageddon awaits.
Do you know what Armageddon is? In Israel, there is a small mountain (Har) called Megido. There were some skirmishes a couple of thousand years ago. From that, this figurative expression “Armageddon,” the end of the world, got started.
In fact, we do not need to wait for the end of the world. It is possible to climb up this hill now and look down from it. It’s not that high; it’s some kind of mound only 700 to 800 meters high. Let’s not bring ourselves to the extreme states. Let’s make our life calm, good, and happy today, not in 50 years.
And most importantly, with the help of the science of Kabbalah, we can begin to feel the next life, the upper world, the transition from one state to another, from one reincarnation to another. This is all in our power.
I wish for you to discover for yourself the eternal state of growing and contented matter.

New Life #448 – How Nature Takes Us On An Internal Journey

New Life #448 – How Nature Takes Us On An Internal Journey
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
Nature wants to take you on a spiritual trip and teach you how to climb the internal mountains within your soul. Nature is in a state of harmony and balance which is only disrupted by the uncontrollable growth of the human ego. We become one with nature when we learn how to implement the golden rule: “love thy friend as thyself.”

New Life #917 – Realization Of The Uniqueness In A Person

New Life #917 – Realization Of The Uniqueness In A Person
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel
Summary
A person’s uniqueness is realized when they honor the golden rule: “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). It is in our ability to be together, to be connected, and to serve society that our true uniqueness shines. When a person makes the mistake of working for himself, he does harm to the general system. On the other hand, when a person becomes like the Creator and accesses the power of love and bestowal, he learns to control reality and his uniqueness takes on an eternal form.

The Times of Israel: What Millennials Must Know About Socialism

The Times of Israel published my new article “What Millennials Must Know About Socialism”
I know socialism firsthand. Here’s a lesson on human nature and our desire for a better society.
More millennial Americans are fed up with capitalism, and would prefer to live in a socialist country. That’s the tendency a survey last month conducted by YouGov and the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation found, as millennials were the only US age group that favored socialism over capitalism.

Moreover, as Maggy Donaldson pointed out, in the past year the Democratic Socialists of America became the fastest growing US political group, nearly quintupling their membership from 6,500 to 30,000, as their median age group also shifted from 60 to 35.
The reason for American millennials’ attraction to socialism seems clear: facing rising student debts and higher rents, together with stagnant wages and job insecurity, the idea of socialism surfaces to potentially resolve these stresses, offering instead systems subsidizing their every need.
Millennials Indicate New Stage of Human Development
Over the past three or so decades, there has been a significant shift in the tectonic plates underlying human development. The Baby Boomer “American Dream” spirit evolved into a fundamentally different millennial one: while the Baby Boomer strove for tomorrow’s prosperity, the millennial settles for today’s convenience.
Possessions we used to save up for and wait to buy are now available the moment after we think about them. Our desire to be publicly recognized and admired no longer needs to pass the approval of specialists or industry executives, but can be fulfilled one social media post at a time. Also, “smart” today isn’t about memorizing and recalling information, like we once incessantly trained and tested ourselves on. Rather, our tech devices are the “smart” ones, and it’s about how well we use them to find what we need, when we need it.
That’s the unique socio-economic paradox of the millennial generation: working long and hard is no longer to achieve luxuries, but necessities. Through technological developments, we’ve made the fruits of wealth, public admiration and knowledge readily available and struggle-free. Yet, today’s millennial struggle is to keep up with the costs of food, housing, education, healthcare and childcare.
And so, socialism sprouts up in the millennial’s mind: “Why do I have to break my neck just to make ends meet?”
The Only Way Socialism Could Work
When I lived in Russia, I experienced “Russian socialism” firsthand. On the outset, it appears to have the solutions American millennials seek. The government unloads the weight from the people’s shoulders, taking care of their basic infrastructure: everyone works, get taxed similarly, and gets free or affordable food, housing, education, transportation, healthcare and childcare.
Where, then, did such socialism fall short?
It didn’t take human nature, the fundamental need to fulfill oneself before any other person, into account. People don’t want to live their lives to benefit other people. Any surplus effort one makes within a socialist system sees no direct surplus reward. Even if we would be better off in a communal society, we wouldn’t be able to give up on our individualistic approach. Our very nature won’t let us.
Thus, people lack the motivation to truly benefit each other. The Soviet approach to this problem was to force this communal system onto the people and expect them to be happy. But then, even its enforcers relied on the same motivation, and the system imploded with horrendous violence and suffering.
Yehuda Ashlag’s article “The Peace,” written in the 1930s, is just as relevant today in describing the nature of socialism, and the fundamental problem of motivation that needs to be solved in order for socialism to work.
‘Where would the worker or the farmer find sufficient motivation to work?’ For his daily bread will not increase or decrease by his efforts, and there are no goals or rewards before him.
“It is well known to researchers of nature that one cannot perform even the slightest movement without motivation, without somehow benefiting oneself.
“When, for example, one moves one’s hand from the chair to the table, it is because one thinks that by putting his hand on the table he will enjoy it more. If he did not think so, he would leave his hand on the chair for the rest of his life without moving it at all. It is all the more so with greater efforts.
“And if you say that there is a solution — to place them under supervision so that anyone who is idle at his work will be punished by denial of salary, I will ask, ‘Do tell me where the supervisors themselves should take the motivation for their work?’ Because standing at one place and watching over people to motivate them to work is a great effort, too, perhaps more than the work itself. Therefore, it is as though one wishes to switch on a machine without fueling it.”— Yehuda Leib HaLevi Ashlag, “The Peace
What is this “fuel” that is imperative for socialism to work?
It is in people wanting to benefit other people.
For socialism to work in the long term, people need to be organically motivated to contribute to society, wishing  to see everyone in society become happy and secure. This is not the desire that motivates people naturally. Rather, it exists in potential. Everyone agrees in theory with ideas of equality, altruism, mutual consideration and kindness, but in practice, we continually resort to treating our personal benefit with primacy. These ideas cannot be forced, but they can be learned.
Through connection-enriching educational programs, we can learn how to better identify, magnify and grow ideas of equality, altruism, and mutual consideration into a new social construct: an integrative social circuitry that flows with positive signals of those values.
I believe the most pragmatic initiation of such learning en masse can start with our children. By focusing our concern on how we can raise the next generation to be better socially connected, we adults would also be influenced positively by this process: it would motivate us to improve our own social conditions, as well as those for the future society. We would thus create the beginnings of a supportive environment for connective ideals to blossom into a practical, workable form.
It is my hope that we could spark such a process in society. The time has come to refill our fuel tank with a whole new kind of motivation, and find meaning, happiness and confidence in our cultivation of a positively connected human society. I also very much hope to see the activation of political and social organizations that will emphasize connection-enriching education of ourselves and the young generation as a launch pad for a better world.

Is Eternity Attained On Earth?

Laitman_049.01Remark: They say that a person who remains in history has found eternity. Indeed, for example, such people as Plato or Spinoza have been dead for a long time, but we remember their names.
My Comment: What does it mean—eternity? Material reality is just an illusion; it does not exist.
Our world will exist until we reach the upper world. As soon as humanity begins to rise in its mass to the spiritual world, our world will evaporate, dissolve as in fog, and cease to exist.
You will understand this when entering the ladder of attaining the upper worlds. Remaining in our world, you will see that this really has to happen—our material world will evaporate in the future because it exists only in our sensations.
Remark: But meanwhile people are making every effort to somehow leave their mark in history, in any form.
My Comment: What is left for them? In this way their egoism seeks to establish their “I.”

“And Moses, The Servant Of The Lord, Died There”

laitman_740.03Torah, Deuteronomy 34:01 – 34:04: And Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, [to the] top of the summit facing Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the Land: The Gilead until Dan, and all [the land of] Naftali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, until the western sea, and the south, and the plain, the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, until Zoar.
And the Lord said to him, “This is the Land I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not cross over there.”
The quality of Moses is not in the land of Israel because the land relates to Malchut and to all the degrees coming from Bina to Malchut, and Moses is the upper Bina.
The mission of Moses ends at this, and so it is said that “he died.”
Torah, Deuteronomy 34:05 – 34:06: And Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there, in the land of Moab, by the mouth of the Lord. And He buried him in the valley, in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Pe’or. And no person knows the place of his burial, unto this day.
The place of his burial is unknown because Bina does not have a place. This is a state that is not in the land of Israel. However, physically, historically, it certainly can be found because it was reflected in the material world.
In our world, there were the people of Israel who exited Egypt, went through the desert, and reached the promised land. That is, the spiritual root must necessarily be reflected in the earthy form as well in our world. Therefore, everything can be found.

“And Shone Forth From Seir To Them”

laitman_937Torah, Deuteronomy 33:02: He said: “The Lord came from Sinai and shone forth from Seir to them; He appeared from Mount Paran and came with some of the holy myriads; from His right hand was a fiery Law for them.
The correction of the sons of Israel began at Mount Sinai. Before that, they were under the rule of their egoism.
It was at Mount Sinai that they began the correction under the influence of the upper Light, called the Torah. Before exiting Egypt, they were under the rule of the Pharaoh, that is, the Light obviously did not work on them and they were not following the clear instruction for their correction.
The fact is that starting from Mount Sinai and onward, the two-way connection is revealed between them and the Creator. Here what we call raising MAN is already accomplished, by feeding on the so-called manna.
The sons of Israel raised their desires to the Creator, to the next level above them, then they received an influence from there and ascended further, until they reached the entrance to the land of Israel, that is, until they acquired all the tools with which they could openly work with their egoism.
It is written: “And shone forth from Seir to them; He appeared from Mount Paran.” Seir and Paran symbolize a kind of road signs.
The fact is that in ancient times, along each road there were definite markers showing the direction to the traveller. The people of Israel moved from place to place using them like the road pillars. This means that they moved along the spiritual degrees from one state to another.
“Radiance” (Sapphire, from the word “Sefira”) symbolizes the reflected Light. They begin to work with it, that is, with the quality of bestowal, just as it is emanated from the Creator. That is, a person himself becomes a source of Light, although reflected, but he is a source.
Question: What does it mean: “And came with some of the holy myriads”?
Answer: It is very difficult to comment on the translated Torah. To do this, we must take the original in Hebrew and then we will see a completely different picture. Maybe it means tens of thousands of degrees, when they have already reached the level of Rosh de Arich Anpin, the head of the world of Atzilut.
This is the highest degree, and there the Creator already begins to pass the reigns of control to them. It is because the desires that have reached such a level are already ready to perform all the actions of correction on themselves.
