Remember…

Laitman_020The holiday of Purim is the happiest holiday, the best time for great mercies. Purim symbolizes our whole spiritual work.
All holidays are related to the correction of the shattered soul of Adam HaRishon, the first man, but only Purim signifies the completion of this process, the very last action, called Gmar Tikkun, the end of correction.
Then we remember all our egoistic desire to receive pleasure in its entire tremendous scope and understand that we cannot withstand it in any way. We are very weak. Even the righteous Mordechai sits on a rock in front of the king’s gate, a poor old man no one considers, while Haman rules the entire kingdom as the king’s right hand.
The Creator purposely crowns egoism to rule, as it is written, “I created the evil inclination.” And Pharaoh (egoism) is the king of the world in various roles and characters. Only when a person feels his very existence is threatened does he wake up. Who helps him wake up? Haman does by telling him, “Let’s destroy this root that could awaken, the desire to bestow or intention in order to bestow, at its basis. Why should we keep it? I’m the king!”
When we reach that height of the will to receive that wants to control everything with the intention in order to receive, then we will discover that the desire to receive is unchangeable matter, but the intention to receive is incorrect and we can control the desire to receive with the intention to bestow. Although the intention to bestow is against nature, very weak, against our consciousness, understanding, and nature itself, and in addition, the king, i.e., the Creator, doesn’t support it, nevertheless it’s still there. How is it possible to fight this? The intention to bestow is too weak, too tenuous, and delicate to stand up to Ahasuerus who supports Haman with the power of evil.
But there is a part of the desire to receive that is called “the Jews” (Yehudi) because this part possesses the potential force of unity. If a severe threat looms over them, they will unite. Even though this unity is forced upon them, elicited by the fear of destruction, it nonetheless draws to them the Light that reforms, the upper force. The upper force is awakened in King Ahasuerus who initially supported Haman, but after the Jews’ unity, he fully and happily supports Mordechai.
It all depends on that group, which is called in its potential, “the Jews” (the Hebrew word for “Jew” [Yehudi] comes from the word for “united” [yihudi]). Then, when they unite, first coercively then later willingly, they then have great strength first to control King Ahasuerus, and later they destroy Haman’s power, the whole evil inclination that could have easily destroyed them.
This was all done by their uniting and attracting a great force, which helped them unite even more, then by acting through the power of unity they subdued the power of separation, the power of Haman.
They do that in every degree and state because this is the correction, but in Purim it plays out as a miracle. Purim is about a very huge will to receive, in its 32 parts, which are impossible to correct directly. That is why it is considered a miracle, because we can correct 288 parts of the will to receive gradually over 125 degrees, but the stony heart joins all those corrections, but it doesn’t appear. Only in the final action does the stony heart surface and become corrected through 288 parts, and the 32 parts also enter the correction all at once. Then, the Light of the end of correction comes.
In Purim, we can see the entire process of correction: the exile, the liberation in all of its forms. That is why Purim begins with the reading of the chapter “Remember what Amalek did to you.” Intention for own benefit, called the evil inclination or Amalek, accompanies us the entire time, and it is precisely because of Amalek that we come to the Creator.
If not for this evil inclination, we never would have awakened to unity, would never have revealed our separation from the Creator, and would not have achieved similarity of form with Him. It is impossible to achieve adhesion without the help of this evil force that is working in the left line.
That is why we must remember what Amalek did to us. In every state, the Creator sends us help against Him, and this is a great help. We just need to know how to relate to these forces of nature correctly.

Purim is as significant for Jews today as it was for the Jews in the story itself. Also, it holds immense importance for society at large. A major aspect that needs to be understood about the meaning of Purim in order for us to understand its modern relevance is in relation to Haman: Who or what is Haman in our present times? That is, who or what is behind society’s increasing estrangement and polarization?
The immediate response according to our primal instincts is to personify the blame, that a President, or a group of politicians, financiers, executives or other conspiratorial schemers are behind our woes. However, beyond the face-value finger pointing, what is really behind all the social division is the divisive mindset that Haman represents: the desire to seek money, honor, control and/or power in spite of everyone and everything. This divisive mindset shuts us off from each other, separating us, harming us and masking the damage we do to each other.
Today’s tumultuous social atmosphere is a calling for us to seek our common voice as a humanity that shares common values and purpose. If we use this calling to connect a little above our primal instincts, then we can create a much more peaceful and friendly society for us all.
Whenever the Jewish people were at risk of ruin, it was our unity that saved us. We can use the Purim story as an eternal reminder that our unity can get us out of the worst situations, and that by uniting, we set a constructive and positive example for the rest of humanity.

Managing Spiritual Life

laitman_939.01Question: What does it mean to manage spiritual life? What is there to manage?
Answer: Managing spiritual life means gradually strengthening connection between people until they begin to reveal the upper force, the Creator, between them.
[219934]
From the Kabbalah Lesson in Russian 12/24/17

The Highest Gain

laitman_942Question: How do Kabbalists benefit from unity?
Answer: The benefit is huge, in fact, it is the highest! We can reveal a new form of life in Kabbalistic unity!
We can travel between galaxies, rise above our universe, go beyond it and beyond the material life we exist in now. We can feel ourselves living outside the body.
This is possible and achieved through the right connection between people.
Question: Is this unity similar to how cells are connected when a single-cell organism becomes more perfect?
Answer: No. If we unite through the type of cells, then we create the right egoistic society, as in the present society. It functions well egotistically, but it does not rise to the next level.
We need to reach a state where, as a body, we will support ourselves in reciprocity so that we are governed by one force, one brain, and one heart. For this, we need to rise above our own egoistic nature.
During this life, we have to reach the next level, and this cannot be achieved by any ordinary tricks. We must put ourselves in a special state while in our earthly state, where we attract the upper Light. It will then pull us to the next step, and then to the next one, and so on until we rise above our world.
In our world, we need to sustain a minimal level in order to exist because all our thoughts and aspirations should be directed at the revelation of the upper world.

Where Is The Upper World Revealed?

laitman_528.01Question: What kind of spiritual benefit can there be from the talks, discussions, and disputes of a group of people who have begun their journey  in the wisdom of Kabbalah but are not in spiritual attainment?
Answer: People need to try to find a common language, to unite, to understand how different they are, what they can do to come closer to each other, and help each other mutually. They need to talk about this a lot, to study the books of Kabbalah, and to organize common meals, as we did with my teacher Rabash.
Every week in addition to learning, we would gather in the evenings and read his articles, and sometimes we would travel to different places as a large group. In other words, this was a complete system of exercises that functioned on two levels.
One level was indeed completely physical, psychological, and amiable: we would simply get together and get to know each other. We needed to do that. It is relevant to both groups of women and groups of men.
A second level is learning about our relationships and connections, but on a deeper level we don’t yet feel, like the workings of parts of the soul, or a spiritual system, or a Partzuf; it doesn’t matter what this is called.
If ten friends achieve an inner connection, then a system is created between them called a Partzuf (spiritual body) or a Kli (vessel) composed of ten parts, ten desires, connected correctly, and a unique force called the Creator starts becoming revealed.
Ten people together feel and discover it. This is called the discovery of the upper world. The power of the Creator manages them, guides them forward, and changes them and all the circumstances that are around and within them. He teaches them. The moment they discover Him, He immediately begins to work with them.
All the transformations that happen with them are multifaceted. Even if they seem to negate and contradict each other, at the same time, they still help, integrate, and the group of ten gradually ascends. The friends feel the contradictions between them more and more, and yet, the force that connects them becomes greater and greater.
It is particularly when faced with great opposition or in parallel with them that we start discovering a general integral connecting force. Between the two forces of rejection and attraction, a spiritual sense organ, called “a soul,” is created. It begins to teach them, as it is said, “A person’s soul will teach him,” and they follow it.
In this way, everything is resolved the connection among the people, not only in the group of ten. The more there are such groups of ten, and the more they connect with each other, the better, because the whole of humanity must reach such a connection.
That is how the upper world is revealed. It cannot be revealed in any other way. We can only make discoveries of the upper world in the connection between us, because we all emerged from system of Adam that shattered, and which we must restore.

Newsmax: “Regulation Won’t Solve The Internet Privacy Issue — Here’s What Can”

The largest portal Newsmax published my new article “Regulation Won’t Solve The Internet Privacy Issue — Here’s What Can

This year, Facebook celebrates its 14th birthday. The world’s most popular social network, which has connected billions of people to reveal every bit of information about themselves at any given moment, is now celebrating its mid-teens. We, on the other hand, celebrate the end of the age of privacy and the beginning of the era of collectivity.
Facebook is not the only one to blame. We are all part of this. From the moment we became technology junkies, we all “agreed” to have our online behavior constantly monitored. Our details are exposed in the virtual space, subject to the manipulation and exploitation of anybody who can spend on advertising, and anybody who decided to spend some of their time learning how to hack into our accounts.
But what do we have to hide? Also, who and what are we ashamed of?
Why Are We So Anxious Regarding Our Privacy?
The anxiety surrounding internet privacy partly stems from the fact that we feel ashamed of completely exposing ourselves to society. This shame emerges naturally and genetically. We feel its bitter pangs of insecurity emerge in our childhood, and likewise, from an early age we try to cover it with a smorgasbord of smug, arrogant, and prideful masks, all in order to maintain our feeling of self-value.
However, when we understand that the same fundamental nature exists in all of us — the human ego — then we can quickly realize that we have nothing to be ashamed of, and nothing to hide.
What is the human ego? It is a natural, “devilish” force that motivates us to benefit ourselves at others’ expense. It starts by driving us to look great among people, and then goes much further to make us incite, manipulate, exploit and think negatively about others, so we can build ourselves on their ruin.
Ironically, while we think that following the ego’s demands to profit at other people’s expense will fulfill us, we eventually come to the opposite realization: that it works to everyone’s detriment, ours included.
For over a decade, I’ve been discussing the fact that our world is in an escalating crisis. We have reached a stage in our development where the egoistic intent behind our every desire, thought and action, can no longer lead us towards meaningful fulfillment. Thus, on personal, social, ecological, and economic scales, in every area of human engagement, we experience growing problems that appear all the more irresolvable: more depression, stress, anxiety, social division, xenophobia, extremism, as well as increasing economic and ecological instability.
But of all the above, the problem of internet privacy beautifully exemplifies the unique globally interconnected and interdependent situation we have today. On the one hand, we’re globally interconnected through technologies like the internet, and on the other hand, since the ego aims to benefit itself at other people’s expense, we find our behaviors under constant surveillance in order for advertisers to profit from us as much as possible.
Think of how two politicians can look neat and respectable, behave courteously, smile and shake hands with each other, all the while holding cutthroat intentions to manipulate each other as much as possible — the same goes for the internet: underlying very friendly and pleasant-looking websites are tracking codes that mark your behavior, save your information, and provide it to people who can use it to target and follow you with whatever they want to push onto you.
Why Regulations Won’t Solve the Internet Privacy Issue… and What Can
We’ve seen the commonplace scenario for dealing with situations like these many times: new regulation policy is proposed, followed by a struggle between who benefits most from the policy — the companies or the people — and eventually some kind of regulation is adopted. Then, the problem merely mutates to take on another form, because it wasn’t resolved at its root: the overblown ego that demands self-benefit at others’ expense.
Regulations will not alleviate the anxiety surrounding internet privacy. What we need instead is a special kind of education and training.
We need to develop a new perspective on how the ego operates our every desire, thought and movement, and see it as a foreign pressure that doesn’t belong to us. That is, we need to identify that our ego is not our independent selves. By distinguishing this force from ourselves, we can then work against it in order to balance it with an opposite, positive force from nature, which humanity truly needs.
That positive force is the profound, innate connection shared by all human beings. Discovering it requires certain ingredients:
1. A guide who already knows how to tap into the positive force of connection and use it to balance the negative force of the ego.
2. A society, or at least a small group, that learns and exercises how to positively connect, in order to interface with the positive force of connection among its members, which would serve to balance everyone’s ego.
Regular engagement in such connection-enriching experiences benefits us twofold: First, we satisfy our ego’s demands, as we become respected and appreciated for our contribution to such an environment. Secondly, the environment we build is warm and friendly, infusing its members with happiness, confidence and security.
Today our egos are like wild horses bumping into each other. By engaging in connection-enriching experiences, we learn how to tame these horses, become their masters, control them with both hands on the reins, and start being able to aim all that horsepower in a positive direction: to strengthen and spread the positive force of connection that can balance and guide the negative force of the ego.
But if society in general is egoistic, and we try to become altruistic, doesn’t it mean that we make ourselves vulnerable to being trampled on by those wild horses? It does indeed seem that way to our egos, but this narrow view fails to take into account that nature is an integrated system and by balancing our egos with nature’s positive force, we invite a new constructive quality into our lives, which neutralizes the negative attitude toward us, deflecting a lot of harm from us to begin with.
Time to Participate in the Most Natural Method Ever
The method of balancing and guiding the human ego by tapping into the natural force of connection holds universal importance and appeal. In fact, this method comes from nature itself, and we’ve already experienced it involuntarily and unconsciously. Today, we simply need to start implementing it consciously.
Since we were an embryo in our mother’s womb, nature’s systems worked to develop and form us into a human baby capable of exiting our mother and entering the world. Then, through infancy and childhood, on one hand, we started becoming exposed to all kinds of environmental disturbances, and on the other hand, we were handed nature’s protective forces in the form of parents, siblings, relatives, and friends. The more we grew up, the more independent and remote we became from the positive force. By the time we reached adulthood, it is as if the positive force left us, and we were faced only with the negative force, which continues inflating to this day.
Therefore, today’s balancing act requires our conscious realization of this method in which nature operates on us, and our full participation in infusing society with that same kind of warm, friendly and caring force that we felt from those natural players toward us as we grew up.
I would jumpstart this method by creating an internet space free from any profit motives. In this space, I would develop a virtual community consisting of groups, learning, activities, and exercises that guide each one of its members toward the attainment of nature’s positive force of connection, which will empower, enliven, and inspire people in this network to strengthen and share the positive connection they attain.
Even just starting this process with the right ingredients in place would fuel us with completely new feelings of purpose and motivation. All we need is to plug into a connection-enriching network, and we’ll experience a significant upgrade to a whole new level of balance. One way or another, we will have to learn how to balance and guide the human ego toward the good of human society. I wish this happens sooner rather than later.

The Last Revelation Of Kabbalah

254.02Question: In the history of Kabbalah, this knowledge has been deprecated many times. Will humanity come to the time when people will stop devaluing Kabbalah as a science?
Answer: Kabbalah was revealed 5,778 years ago and gradually broke out first in Ancient Babylon, then in Ancient Egypt, and 3,000 years ago in Ancient Israel. Then, for 2,000 years it was in hiding, and now is starting to emerge again.
We all participate in the revelation of this knowledge that studies the management system of our world. Throughout the years, Kabbalah needed to go into exile repeatedly, but today we begin our last campaign. It is written in the Kabbalistic books that there will be no more concealment of Kabbalah.
Of course, we still feel today that we have a lot of ill-wishers, but the general tendency is to open Kabbalah. The whole world assists with it, all its progress and emerging problems without solution at the level of our world through other sciences.
We must constantly reveal that the Kabbalistic approach to the world is special: nothing negative exists, everything is given only to balance each force that is opposite to it and move forward this way.
The prohibition from above to refrain from the open study of Kabbalah was for a limited period until the end of 1,490. From this year onward, this decree has been lifted and it is permitted to study The Book of Zohar openly.
And since the year 1,540, it is considered to be the higher purpose for the masses to study, old and young, as it is written in “Reya Meemna.” [Abraham Azulai, Preface to the book Ohr HaChama]
This is a gradual process, and we are in the beginning of it. Until now, only small groups of people have engaged in studying Kabbalah. Today, we are beginning to spread it to the masses and to absolutely all without restrictions. Similarly, it happened only with Abraham in Ancient Babylon, 3,500 years ago. And now we repeat his path practically.

Societal Focus Of The Science Of Kabbalah

laitman_214Remark: Baal HaSulam wrote many books and articles but for some reason you emphasize only his social doctrine, even though this is a very small part of his works, a portion he never even planned to publish.
My Comment: It is true that he did not intend to publish the article “The Last Generation.” But the newspaper HaUma (The Nation) was published in his lifetime and brought a great deal of difficulties in his battle with certain circles of that society.
Remark: Nonetheless, in his fundamental work, Talmud Eser Sefirot (TES), there is nothing about society.
My Comment: Only people who do not understand anything about the science of Kabbalah can declare that Talmud Eser Sefirot (TES – The Study of the Ten Sefirot) says nothing about how to change one’s qualities toward love of others. TES explains how to take a group of ten members and start connecting them to each other so as to turn them into a system called a Partzuf,  the soul—ten parts connected by one goal.
Remark: But in his famous book Shamati, for example, there is no mention of a social orientation.
My Comment: In Shamati, it talks about how an individual must control his egoism. And what does he need to do it for? Through what does he realize his corrected egoism?—In relationships, in the correct connection between everyone. The law “Love your neighbor as yourself” is the fundamental and general law for everyone. Baal HaSulam explains this in the articles “The Giving of the Torah (Matan Torah),” “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee),” and others. For the individual, the revelation of the Creator can only take place in the center of the ten. I understand that this repels many people because we are egoists and are ready to engage in anything other than unity.
After coming to Kabbalah, for a long time I didn’t understand that attainment depends on my relationship with others, that I have to dissolve in nine of my friends and that only through them would I be able to permeate into the upper world. I didn’t want to understand this! My egoism completely eclipsed it.
I studied graphics, charts, and various Kabbalistic diagrams, the structure of the system of the upper worlds, the upper system’s control, etc., because my professional specialization is biocybernetics, that is, control systems.
But when I started to comprehend that this is all realized in the connection between me and those like me, and that I must get spiritually closer to them, unite, and create a mutual system of connections called a Partzuf and later called a soul (because none of us has a soul, each one of us can only be one-tenth of its parts), I was gripped with a terrible despondence.
That is why I understand you completely. I went through it all myself.

Why Does Cancer Affect Younger People?

627.2Question: Why does cancer affect younger people?
Answer: It is because our egoism constantly expands. Cancer is the direct consequence of our ego, which devours everything around itself, and then it dies with the body. Everything depends only on egoism.
Try to deal with its eradication in cancer patients, and you will see results. I do not guarantee that there will be complete success, but there will be relative success.
Question: You do not guarantee absolute success because we are all connected in one way or another?
Answer: Firstly, we are all connected. Secondly, if we would be properly engaged in group spiritual work, then it will cause the group’s rejuvenation, recovery, and even relative healing of the body.
We have to constantly think about the group, be inside it. Even a small group is already the center of physical, spiritual, and moral health.
Try to do this, and you will see that you will not have any questions, you will start to answer them. You will feel the entire system from the connection among yourselves. It is natural. We have nothing to think about, only to act in a mutual connection among each other.

Breaking Israel News: Israel’s Hubris Comes With a Price

The largest portal Breaking Israel News published my new article “Israel’s Hubris Comes With a Price

’I have seen these people,’ the Lord said to Moses, ‘and they are a stiff-necked people. Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.’” (Exodus 32:9-10)
You’re having a pleasant walk in a nature reserve on the weekend and all of a sudden a fighter jet goes down near you. You immediately hear sirens going off, and buzzing alerts on your phone. What do you do? Panic? Run? Check on your loved ones’ safety?
Well, if you were one of the 100,000 people in northern Israel’s nature reserves or another 25,000 people in Israel’s snowy holiday area, Mount Hermon, on the second weekend of February 2018, you would have simply carried on enjoying your walk or your skiing like nothing happened, unfazed by the Iranian drone plane that penetrated Israeli territory getting shot down, and the IDF plane soon after also getting shot down after its response attacks on targets in Syria.
For Israelis, this is simply a routine situation raising no cause for concern. Protected by one of the world’s strongest armies, and what’s been recently rated the world’s best air force, Israelis seemingly have good reasons to be complacent.
The Excessive Confidence of the Israeli People
However, such indifference in the face of such close-range danger indicates the extent of our hubris, and confidence that our technology will always be there to protect us. It is also a prime example of our stiff-necked nature.
Do we realize that this event could be a preview of the next war in Israel’s north, which could spark overnight?
Are we attentive to the future endangerment of Israel’s northern sector, or are we impervious to it, just as we were some 80 years ago when we failed to detect the risks that led to the Holocaust?
Why Are the People of Israel ‘Stiff-Necked’?
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, our imperviousness derives from an inbuilt concealment within us, of and by an upper force operating our desires, thoughts, and actions. Kabbalists throughout history have pointed to our era as the one where we, the people of Israel, would need to realize our true function in the global system we are part of: to unite, and to become an example and a conduit of positive social connection for humanity, a “light unto the nations.”
Like caring parents who know how to develop their children by giving them problems they need to solve, the upper force challenges us by adding excess ego to our social relations, a repelling force separating and distancing us from each other. Therefore, like any healthy child who tries to outsmart his or her parents, we should think about how we could respond maturely to these hints. By using the wisdom we’ve been granted as preventative medicine to increase our sensitivity to reality and our role in it, we can develop our understanding of the bigger picture surrounding every such event, and our awareness of how we can use these hints to incentivize greater unity. If we don’t use this wisdom as preventative medicine, then it will still be waiting for us later. However, later we would use it as medicine to treat wounds and pains we can expect to suffer if we fail to use it in advance of the blows.
Therefore, if we would relate to every threat against us as a hint given to us from a loving and caring higher power that wants us to enter into dialog with it, then we would start using the medicine before the blow. We would not run to spend millions of dollars creating more advanced defense systems and technologies since we would see how all such development continues exposing our very same weak point: our stiff-necked egoistic nature that desensitizes and detaches us from each other. We would work out precisely where we need to apply our intelligence and efforts: to strengthen and enrich our connection to each other above our nature that constantly operates in the opposite direction.
How an Intellectually Advanced Nation Looks Handicapped
Right now, we appear to be intellectually, creatively and technologically advanced, but in terms of the uniting attitude, behavior, and example that the world really needs from us, we look sluggish and incapacitated.
If we were attacked from all sides, then we would see how quickly we would open up to each other and unite. But why should we wait for an unfortunate, suffering-propelled scenario to unite us when we have everything at our fingertips to unite while there is relative calm and prevent the pain scenario from unfolding?
As Samuel David Luzzatto wrote about 150 years ago, “The success of our nation depends solely on the love of one’s brothers, on our connection in a single bond as members of one family.” Today, escalating pressures amount on us, the people of Israel, to realize our deep seeded unity. In the meantime, however, we continue business as usual, numb to the hints were being offered. This is all on credit, though, and the time will come when we’ll need to pay it off. It is my hope that we’ll be able to wake up to our role sooner, through learning and wisdom, rather than later, through suffering and blows.

Passage To The Upper World

laitman_942The main law of the Torah is “Love your neighbor as yourself.”All other rules, laws, and conditions should be directed to connecting all people into one common system called “Adam.”
As a result of the so-called “Sin of the Tree of Knowledge,” this system shattered into many small parts, desires, each of which is in everyone; these desires migrate from body to body, from organism to organism.
Starting now and onward, we must gradually connect these shattered parts with each other until they are so tightly connected that they represent one single desire.
Question: It is written in the Torah that the condition for receiving it is to become as one man with one heart. The heart is a desire. What does it mean “as one man”? After all, each one is still an individual.
Answer: There is no individuality here. It should be manifested in the fact that I, from the point of view of my individuality, advance to the same goal, like everyone else. After all, we all are different, but we advance to the same goal: to unity. In the connection between us, even if it’s only ten people, we find a passage to the next world.
[219757]
From the Kabbalah Lesson in Russian 10/8/17

Multifaceted Integral System

laitman_929Question: Many scientists conduct their research through trial and error.
Will the individual who begins working with nature also do so by the method of blows and rewards, or will the warning bells begin to work, letting him know whether he is progressing correctly so he won’t need to go by the path of blows?
Answer: When we check to see whether our interactions are structured correctly, a multifaceted system appears. These interactions, even when we are not yet consciously aware of our efforts, are being corrected from above by the controlling force and we don’t even suspect it.
Even though we say that this is so, we still do not experience it consciously. We cannot determine this force in us because we do not yet have contact with it. But gradually it shapes us.
The main thing for this controlling force is to make one united desire, one united intention out of us so that those people who enter this system are as one united organism, one structure. Furthermore, individuals still remain distinct, in no way erase their individuality or lower themselves to zero. Quite the opposite, they develop egoistically even more, but in doing so, they complement each other.
This, in essence, is the strength of such activity: when opposite elements develop more and more and complement each other specifically because of their opposite natures.
In this manner, the entire system becomes powerful because it has a plus, a minus, and a tremendous amount of interesting interconnections built on a multifaceted foundation—pros, cons, all kinds of connections, and so on. Also, this system is completely integrated. That is how it appears within us.

New Life #944 – Being Significant

New Life #944 – Being Significant
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
We feel significant when we believe there is a meaning to our existence. Our sense of significance evolves through the desires associated with sex, family, money, honor, and knowledge. Those who come to the wisdom of Kabbalah long for the realization of their souls. They learn to connect to eternity through the force of love and bestowal that fills all of creation. They develop spiritually through their desire to discover the purpose of creation.

Don’t Talk About Your Feelings

Laitman_165Question: Why can’t I talk about my feelings in a workshop? Does it mean that I have to hide them?
Answer: You do not have to hide them, but your egoistic feelings are of no interest to anyone; you cannot fix us and you cannot raise us with them.
If you speak with chopped phrases from a book, you can hardly inspire friends because everyone understands that you are reciting what you have read. And you should not speak too much from your heart too, because if we egoists feel what you feel in your heart, then we can hurt you.
Usually, Kabbalists speak about our common exaltation, about the greatness of the Creator, in their own words. But in principle, it is best to talk about the group: how special the system is through which we can achieve adhesion with the Creator and bring the whole world to a new state that it needs.

Lie And Truth, Part 5

laitman_547_01Question: Our entire world is based on lies that initially come from human nature. We trudge through it as if through a dark jungle full of deception, not knowing if we will get out. Are we always going to live in a world of deception or will the world change in the future?
Answer: Development brings us to a point where we can no longer live in lies. We can only lie to a certain limit, and then we begin to hurt each other so much that we can’t put up with it. We simply cannot continue to exist because there isn’t a drop of truth remaining in our relations.
We can then no longer communicate with each other nor conduct any kind of business. In a world built on complete deception, there are no connections left between people and so it falls apart. This is exactly what is happening to it today.
Question: How will the world be able to go forward?
Answer: The world will reach the recognition of evil, that is, it will understand that we live in lies and must reach the truth. The truth is correct, kind connections between us: authentic, not false ones.
We will stop deceiving each other; we will learn to say the truth, and will educate our children in the spirit of truth. We will want to be sincere with each other, and in these qualities we will discover the upper force that is the absolute truth.
It is with this goal in mind that we are placed into deception, initially finding ourselves in the shattering, in the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, under control of the serpent, and in complete lies. There is not a drop of real pleasure in our life—it is all only to escape from suffering. Even rest is just recovery from prior fatigue.
This is how it is with everything. We experience false pleasure because we just want to get rid of the suffering we previously experienced. Therefore, there is no good without evil first. In the world of tomorrow where there will be no lies, one good is replaced with another greater good, and everything becomes better and better.
It already seems to you that the previous good was not so good; after all, there is a better one. Today we choose the lesser of two evils, and in the corrected world we will be replacing a smaller good with a greater one.

Adam And His Book The Angel Raziel

Laitman_137Question: Scientists believe that in the time of Adam, writing had not yet been invented. Is there proof that the book The Angel Raziel was written by him?
Answer: The book The Angel Raziel was written by Adam in the form of tablets and was passed down from generation to generation. Over the years it has been discovered that Egyptian hieroglyphics were created from the ancient Hebrew alphabet that existed even in the days of Adam.
You can buy the book today, and on its first page it is indicated that according to tradition it was written by Adam HaRishon (the first man), meaning the first person who attained the Creator, not the first man on the face of the Earth.
Remark: As far as I know, only Kabbalists say this since religious people believe that the world began from Adam and atheists don’t believe in anything.
My Comment: Belief in the Creator appeared around 2,000 years ago and atheists appeared only recently. It is necessary to understand where everything comes from and to look at history as it has existed and operated throughout the generations.
If we open books that were written in the 11th century by Kabbalists in Europe, like Maimonides (Rambam) or Rashi, there is confirmed documentation stating that these books were theirs.
The Talmud, which was written in the fourth century, tells about its authors and was written in an understandable language, which we read and speak today. The Torah appeared 1,500 years before the Talmud. Earlier, 3,700 years ago, the Sefer Yetzira (Book of Creation) was written by Abraham in ancient Babylon, and in the year 1600 BCE the “Great Commentary” was written. This information is widely documented and certified and was passed down from generation to generation.
Remark: But there are two types of people that exist in the world, those who don’t believe in anything, and those who believe that Adam HaRishon is the same Adam HaRishon created by the Creator. But they claim that “Adam” was the first person to attain spirituality, is claimed only by the Kabbalists.
My Comment: Kabbalah counts the time of the creation of Adam differently than what is customarily accepted. The creation of Adam is the appearance of the feeling of the Creator within us, and only when we attain the next higher level of our existence can we be called Adam. Before that, we exist on the animate level.
Human beings were in the world tens of thousands of years before the birth of Adam, who also had parents and relatives, but he was the first to attain the hidden forces of nature, and since he discovered his roots, he was called “Adam,” resembling (Domeh) the Creator, because attainment of the Creator made it possible to resemble Him to a certain extent.
Question: I read Adam’s book and did not understand anything. What does the book The Angel Raziel by Adam describe?
Answer: It is necessary to learn the wisdom of Kabbalah to understand what is written in the book. This is not a simple book; its language is complicated to understand, even though we speak this language today. It does not change because it only has spiritual roots in its foundation. Also, since the spiritual forces that manage our world have not changed for thousands of years, the language and laws of its grammar remain the same.

New Life #939 – Human Rights In Judaism

New Life #939 – Human Rights In Judaism
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
To understand what human rights are and how they can be observed, we need to know what nature demands from the human race. Jews have the duty to bring equal rights to the world through the observance of the principle “love your neighbor as yourself” and not through the use of force or law. They have a special spiritual root and originally gathered around Abraham and his message of love. They have since descended into hatred and stand accused by the nations of the world for every bad thing that happens. Our future depends on spreading the wisdom of Kabbalah through which we can realize human rights locally and globally.
