A Good Time For Review

laitman_929The month of Tishrei is coming, a special month full of holidays. The Jewish holidays are not just fulfilling a traditional obligation, they have spiritual roots derived from the forces of nature that operate in cycles, according to the rotation of the Earth around the sun and other higher reasons.
We feel that every day influences our world with different forces: One day is not like another, and one night is not like another night; we are changing all the time. There are more pleasant and better days and there are problematic days.
The month of Elul is a very good time for review of what we did in the past year and what we intend to do in the New Year.
The meaning of the name “Elul” is an acronym, “Ani Ledodi Vedodi Li (I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine)” (Song of Songs 6:3). We must understand the essential demand of the Creator, the higher force of nature. “I am my beloved’s” means that I need to examine myself this month before the beginning of the new year, in a special period of concentration of unique forces within us and our influence on the world.
We must carry out what is written in the Torah, the obligations that were received at Mount Sinai: “Become as one person with one heart” and “All Israel are friends.” Ultimately it is up to us to reach, “And you shall love your friend as yourself” and complete union.
People don’t understand what love is. In our world, this word takes on a very unclean and sexual nuance, or we connect this word with love for animals, trees, and the preservation of nature.
But the concept of love of others means connecting to feel all the desires of others and trying to fulfill them. This is like the connection of two devices; if we connect them correctly, the result is a single device all of whose parts can understand each other and work together.
That is how an engine is built so that all of its parts work in concert, like the organs of a single body that support each other. In this case, it is possible to say that there is love between them.
The Torah is speaking about love like this, about mutual connection, about understanding between everyone, when each one works for the others. If everyone works for everyone, a perfect system emerges, and this is the situation we must attain.
First only one person was created, Adam, one desire. But after that this system was shattered into a multitude of fragments that were not able to integrate with each other. Our work is to find a place for each one that is appropriate for him, and clarify in what form he must be integrated with the others. This is like a gigantic puzzle that we must assemble into one picture.
This puzzle includes 600,000 essential parts called “six hundred thousand souls,” and a further multitude of additional small fragments that are inserted between us. Every person in this world has a part of the overall puzzle because all of us are the “children of Adam,” and must compose him together.
But the main obligation in assembling this puzzle is imposed upon the people of Israel. They are the main constituents of all its billions of parts. If the people of Israel will assemble themselves correctly and will connect this puzzle correctly, then all the rest of the fragments will begin to move and search for their place. And ultimately each one will integrate with the others and become integrated in the puzzle.
In this way humanity will attain harmony, wondrous union, and the correct global integration that our world requires today so profoundly.

Advancing Towards A Miracle

laitman_276_02The Torah, “Exodus,” 33: 4: And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned; and no man did put on him his ornaments.
Advancing in spirituality means advancing in absolute darkness, but the moment a person abandons his ego, the darkness immediately turns into light, and if he sinks into his ego again he immediately finds himself in darkness.
The darkness is immediately felt in all our feelings, definitions and directions as helplessness, as lack of control and lack of a goal. But this is actually how we can reach the attribute of bestowal.
It is clear that we don’t feel the attribute of bestowal now; we cannot imagine where it comes from and how a person attains it. It seems that we simply change one attribute to another, although this isn’t the case at all. How can a person who is immersed in his ego want an attribute that is opposite from his original nature? This is the main problem, which no one understands.
How can I want the attribute of love and bestowal when I am in the opposite attributes? Even if I want them, it will still be with the intention of in order to receive. So advancing towards the goal without the Creator is in darkness, and this is actually what I need so that I will look for a way of turning the darkness into light.
This state already exists in me, but how can I feel everything that is opposite from my ego as Light? How can I change and transform myself? How can I reach the attribute of bestowal if we cannot demand it to begin with because everything we demand is for ourselves?
I am faced with an impossible mission, which is to find the point that is impossible to identify, feel, and understand in advance, because if I understand, it means that I am not in the egoistic attribute anymore!
Therefore, I yearn for it only thanks to my point in the heart, but even this yearning is egoistic because it is dominated by my egoistic desires.
This is the mystery of the cooperation between the Creator (the Light) and us. When it operates, we turn to Him through an obstacle that cannot be penetrated.
There is a very interesting passage between these two levels that we don’t know and cannot find. But if we keep advancing towards the goal by using the means we have, it is gradually revealed to us. The means to advance include working with the group, the desire to draw the Light that Reforms, and yearning to connect. These means gradually help us discern a certain direction, but it still remains secret.
We see that today very few think that it is possible to change our nature. Those who understand anything about human nature realize that it is impossible to change it.
Therefore this process is called the miracle of the exodus from Egypt, when a person understands that he cannot change himself and at the same time is already strongly connected to the Creator. By his actions he realizes that only the Creator can do it. The moment he reaches a point of detachment between the Creator and him, the Creator corrects everything.
We can turn our spiritual advancement to joy only if we acknowledge the importance of the goal that a person receives from the right environment. It is impossible to attain it without mutual support, without mutual guarantee.
Materialistic psychology tells us how we can calm a person down and how we can help him overcome depression, while our method teaches how to ascend to joy. If you are depressed, you cannot make even one step. A person has to turn all the dark states into Light, since otherwise he will not be able to overcome them.
The Torah tells us about clear states that we undergo and thus change our original nature by the help of the Light that Reforms.

Those Who Skip Over The Section Of Time

Dr. Michael LaitmanBaal HaSulam, “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar“: An exception is Rashbi and his generation, the authors of The Zohar, who were granted all 125 degrees in completeness, even though it was prior to the days of the Messiah.
Hence, we often find in The Zohar that there will be none like the generation of Rashbi until the generation of the Messiah King. This is why his composition made such a great impact in the world, since the secrets of the Torah in it occupy the level of all 125 degrees.
Hence, it is said in The Zohar that The Book of Zohar will be revealed only at the end of days, the days of the Messiah.
And since The Zohar appeared in our generation, it is a clear proof that we are already in the days of the Messiah, at the outset of that generation upon which it was said, “for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.”
In the past we studied very little from The Book of Zohar. A person’s individual path of his spiritual development, that of the group, and the general path of the development of the world are connected to one another, because the individual and the general are equal. We couldn’t rush ahead and start studying The Book of Zohar until now because we were unable to hear it, so for many years we hardly touched The Book of Zohar in our study.
A special time had to come and our inner impulse had to ripen. About four years ago I suddenly felt that we have to do something with The Book because it is impossible to study from an authentic source in our times. There was a need to simplify The Book of Zohar so that an ordinary person would be able to understand it, and so we had to remove the many obstacles one encounters when studying this Book and also to translate it to other languages.
I felt a great elation in doing this work. I gradually went over all the writings of The Book of Zohar, day by day, volume after volume, and I greatly enjoyed it, feeling that I was drinking from the spring of life. Many other people took part in this project. We can actually say that it wasn’t work but a gift from above. Now we are glad to bring the outcome of our work to the whole world: the first complete edition in Hebrew and abridged editions in Russian and English. The Book of Zohar will gradually be published in other languages so that everyone will have a chance to study it with us.
No other book has ever been written by a group of Kabbalists as a result of ten connecting. Moreover, there has never been another book that was written in such a special time when people were both on the spiritual level that was before the destruction of the Temple and after the destruction. This means that they were exactly in the center of the shattering, between the two parts of the shattering, and managed to connect the shattering, to skip over it, and to connect its two parts.
There have never been Kabbalists who managed to attain all the 125 levels, which means to attain complete connection with the Creator. This is actually the reason thatThe Book of Zohar is on such a high level and belongs to the end of correction. It wasn’t written by one Kabbalist, but is the product of the connection between people who attained the Creator. This is very important. So when we study this book, it takes us back to that connection, to the correction.
All the other Kabbalistic books were written by people who attained spirituality but not as a result of the connection between people in a group. This is the reason that we wanted to make this book as close to everyone as possible. If a person reads it, the Light that comes through the high souls that connected begins to operate on him.
This Light operates among us and raises our sensitivity to connection. It operates whether we want it or not. Therefore , it was so important to simplify The Book of Zoharand translate it into different languages. This Book includes everything we need for our correction!

Adam Was The First To Break The Ceiling Of This World

Laitman_712_03Question: What is the Kabbalistic meaning of Rosh Hashana, the new year?
Answer: Rosh Hashana is a new beginning, and the wisdom of Kabbalah is the wisdom of life that includes the wisdom of the universe, the wisdom of creation.
After all, it speaks about all of nature, about the totality of nature, not only our world, but also about all the higher worlds that are found above it. In the meantime, humanity doesn’t know anything about what exists beyond the limits of this world, but it still is approaching this attainment.
Rosh HaShana is the day Adam HaRishon (First Man), Adam, was created. It is precisely this event that we celebrate on this day, the creation of Adam.
But the question can be asked: How could Adam have been created 5,775 years ago if it is known that humans already lived thousands of years before then? This is proven by archaeological excavations and ancient inscriptions on stone that have survived until our day. We have found plenty of evidence for the existence of humanity in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age.
This means that there is overwhelming evidence that humans appeared much before 5,775 years ago, and clearly the wisdom of Kabbalah agrees with this. It only adds that Adam was the first who became an Adam (Man).
In our world, there are three types of creatures: inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature. The human also belongs to the animate world.
The truth is that he has a more developed sense and reason. He builds more comfortable houses for himself than animal dens, develops commerce and industry, and explores the world that surrounds him, but it is doubtful if this makes his life happier than the lives of the animals. According to all indications, humans are only part of the animate world.
The wisdom of Kabbalah says that Adam was a human, like us, who lived 5,775 years ago. However, he is considered to be the First Man because he was the first to discover the secret of life, what we are living for, why we were created, and what there is beyond our lives in this world. He was the first to break the ceiling of this world to a higher world. After all, our world is the lowest of all the worlds, as Adam discovered. Before then, we didn’t even know about this. After entering the upper world, Adam told others about it; Adam conveyed to his students the wisdom that he discovered about the upper world and its management of us. He talked about the secret of life, that life is meaningful and purposeful.
Our life possesses a higher value because it makes it possible for us, through special activities, to break out of our world into the upper world; this physical life was given to us to attain the upper world in our lifetime and to become humans after Adam, meaning to become “the children of Adam.”
Adam is called Adam HaRishon because he was the first who rose to the next level, the upper world, where he became “like” (Domeh) the Creator, the higher power that operates there.

Love Exists Only Above Egoism

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: If I correct myself to the extent that I can love my husband unconditionally, no matter what he is like, would I still see his shortcomings?
Answer: If I ask the force from above to correct me and help me see my spouse without any conditions, then I see him completely corrected. This is called “Love will cover all crimes.”
Similarly, a mother does not see any flaws in her child since to he is the best, smartest, and most attractive.
Question: So I rise above my displeasure of a certain quality of my husband, ask to correct my attitude to love, and then suddenly it seems good to me?
Answer: The only way to come to love is by correcting yourself. I am not trying to overlook my partner’s flaws and deceive myself, but I rise above them, as I want to love him as he is.
But correction needs to start with love of friends. Until we begin to correct the relationships between all of us, we will not be able to correct the relationships within a family. This is why the institution of the family is falling apart and will continue to deteriorate further. It will come to the point where children will be killing their parents, and parents will be devouring their own children in the most literal sense.
Comment: But people are seeking romantic love, not love of friends.
Answer: This is because people are looking for material, egoistic love, which they will never find. Love exists only above egoism, and one should look for it inside oneself.
There is no need to look for an attractive object to love. The moment I realize what true love is, I should look for a partner who also understands how to achieve it.
And in that case, it does not matter whether or not we like each other’s appearance. I would come to a wise person and tell him about my desire to marry, and he would find me a suitable partner with whom we can build a correct family.
Such spouses want to find love that is above them. This is why they are not concerned about their spouse’s face or character, but only their willingness to build a relationship of mutual love that is above all shortcomings. They understand that each one needs to correct oneself, and in that measure, they will come closer and connect.

Following The Angel That Shows Us The Way

Laitman_709The Torah, “Exodus,” 33: 1-3: And the LORD spoke unto Moses: “Depart, go up hence, thou and the people that thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land of which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying: Unto thy seed will I give it—and I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite—into a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people; lest I consume thee in the way.”
When He turns to Moses, the Creator calls him and the nation of Israel to begin their actual exodus from Egypt (from the egoistic desire to receive that they are in) and to fulfill the path of the ascent to the next level, to the level of Israel.
The angel that leads Moses is the force that manages and shows a person who yearns for the Creator which way to go, since otherwise he will find himself without a steering wheel or a sail along the spiritual path.If a person really wants to accept the attributes of love and bestowal by annulling his selfish attributes each time and obeying the angel that leads him, the managing force operates.
It is actually the same Light that descends upon us and leads us forward. Obeying the angel means focusing yourself on the attribute of love and bestowal of the Creator, Who is this one attribute, the only field towards which we should constantly advance.
Question: What does it mean to go to the “land flowing with milk and honey?”
Answer: Milk is the attribute of bestowal (Bina) and honey is a more sublime attribute(Hochma). The attributes are revealed in the land of Israel, in the desire that is clearly connected to the Creator, which means that it is full of the corrected attribute above the ego.

Rosh HaShanah Article On Ynet

I am happy to invite you, dear readers, to read a special article for Rosh Hashanathat I published today on Ynet and with this I also want to wish you and all of Israel a happy holiday and a good and sweet year!
ynetRoshHashana1
This Year We Choose To Be Connected
“On Rosh Hashana, 5,776 years ago, one person succeeded in creating a connection with his surroundings. This evening, we celebrate the birthday of the first time that a connection like this was created in humanity. Rav Dr. Michael Laitman, in a special column for Rosh HaShana, explains how it is in our power to make the coming year more successful.”
I am looking at the year that has passed. It was a complex and difficult year for the people of Israel. There is no need to say very much about what we experienced, and it is clear that all of us look forward to a much better year. It depends only on us to make it better.
This evening, we are celebrating Rosh Hashana. 5,776 years ago, a special person was born whom we call Adam ha Rishon (The First Man). He was not the first person who was created; I don’t mean to say that the universe was created 5,776 years ago. This material universe has existed for 14 billion years. There is no argument about that.
What, indeed, was born 5,776 years ago is that system of unique connections that one person succeeded in creating with his surroundings, with others. That relationship that brings people together is what gives us the true reason for living, opens other worlds before us, and makes a person happy. Today, we celebrate the anniversary of the first time when a connection like this was created with humanity.
During the last 5,776 years, we have gone through innumerable situations, but something of this root is left in us. It is too small. It is distant. It comes and goes. However, on holidays, more than usual, it is still possible to feel a kind of spirit like this that envelops and connects all of us. It is because this nation was born from a special feeling of connection.
Abraham, the father of the nation, took the amorphous concept that Adam HaRishonbegan, and it really has developed into a method. Later, it even became a common slogan in the mouths of everyone, called, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” However, the idea of “Love your neighbor as yourself” is not a slogan. It is the foundation. It is the essential basis for our existence here. This is what makes us unique, and this is the basis for our moral values as a nation. Incidentally, this is the only thing that we can and must contribute to humanity. But that is another story.
So, on this holiday, we close a circle; or, more correctly, we open a circle, and it is always necessary to begin from the head, and today is the head, Rosh HaShana, the head of the change. It means that it is the first point in which we understand that a change in the form of the relationships between us leads also to a change in our feeling as individuals and as a society. The way is the same way that Adam HaRishonbegan and our father Abraham developed, and is relevant to the same degree and perhaps even more for us today as well.
I hope, wish, and yearn for a year of change. It should be a year of building the right systems of relationships between us. A year of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” a year of unity, connection, love of others that will transform our lives here and make the approaching year into a sweet and happy year. I wish for a good year for all of the people of Israel!

The Month Of Elul, An Opportunity For Spiritual Ascent

laitman_549_02Question: If we were created as egoists from the start, why do we need to express regret, repent for our sins, and ask for forgiveness?
Answer: Prayer is making a judgment about our inner characteristics, obtained from the outside. The higher power of nature created our egoistic inclination, whereas we are only required to discover it and recognize its evil.
It is evil because it doesn’t allow us to connect with others and recreate the Kli of ourcommon soul through which we feel the upper world.
A person is completely determined and defined by whatever characteristics he is born with, where he grew up, and what kind of education he received. So, we ourselves don’t sin that much, and even though it may seem to us that we have committed some sins in the past, we haven’t done anything bad. This is because nothing depends on us!
But if we clarify that the reason for all evil is our egoistic nature and we want to correct it, we have the possibility of doing this. So, let’s connect for that purpose because it is impossible to correct yourself on your own. So, I am appealing to everyone. Come, let’s correct ourselves, and we will feel ourselves in a completely different world!
All of our regret and repentance is awareness of how much we don’t want to connect with others. We begin to understand that it is possible to live well only through connection and unity, but our evil inclination is preventing us from attaining this. So, we ask the higher power of nature to connect and unite us, as it is written, “He who makes peace in His heavens, may He make peace for us and for all Israel.” (Kaddish).
Question: But what if I don’t want to relate well with others, and I am afraid they will exploit me?
Answer: We simply don’t understand how we benefit from connection and unity. It is as if we receive a sack with a million dollars as a gift. If the reward were revealed to us, everyone would want to connect. Everything depends only on the relationship between the results and the reward, and the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us how great the reward is.
Question: I am familiar with very many good people who are trying to relate well with everyone, but they haven’t gotten a million dollar prize.
Answer: The idea is that we don’t know what a good connection is. So, Kabbalah is called a science. It requires study and research. A person may invest much effort completely in vain. Many people in our world try to do good without results. They simply don’t recognize the laws of nature, so they make mistakes.
It is known that without knowing the physical laws of nature, it is impossible to do anything good. On the contrary, you only cause harm. If I don’t understand the law of gravity, I am liable to fall off a roof.
The same thing even happens with the soul. We must know the laws of our inner nature or of the soul, and then we will use them correctly and easily reach a wonderful, harmonious, peaceful life and benefit from much more than a million dollars.
In the month of Elul, we are entering a unique period. We have an opportunity to benefit greatly if we just will understand that the goal is to connect and unite among us, and the one thing that disturbs us is our ego, the evil inclination.
If we try to become freed from it with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah, then it will provide us with all the necessary means required for correction. Then we will attain abundance and full prosperity. Between us, we will discover the upper world and begin to live a fabulous life as if we were on a cloud.

New Year, New Horizons

Laitman_421_01Question: How should we start the new year?
Answer: We should start the year with the recognition that we have an opportunity to become equal to the Creator, which means to relate to Him the way He relates to you. However, first you must discover that the Creator relates to you with absolute love andbestowal, and you must develop the same thing within you.
However, you don’t feel the Creator; you don’t know Him. The moment you begin to invent Him, you will create another religion, and we already have enough religions in our world.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we have all the means to attain the Creator. Like a jigsaw puzzle, if you use everything you are given correctly, you will resemble the Creator totally.
In fact, the Creator has created this world in a state of total destruction and division. If you arrange it, you not only will become equal to Him, but also will resemble His depth, and so you will attain the same state, the same thought, the same goal, the same starting point from which He began.
You will attain the full depth of His thought, and as a result, you also will attain the Creator to some extent. Kabbalists don’t tell us about what comes next. When you reach that point, you will see for yourself.
Therefore, for us, a new year, Rosh Hashana is indeed a step toward new horizons.

Judging Yourself

Laitman_183_02The month of Elul is the time for self-examination. Did you fulfill the instruction that was given at Mount Sinai and, even before that, at the time of Abraham, which is to attain connection?
The Upper Light will be dressed on us and will reveal the upper world to us to the extent that we begin to unite, and we will feel that we are living in a corrected, round, upper and harmonious world.
Therefore, a sin or transgression is what stands in our way of achieving unity among us. Anyone can examine himself from this perspective and find out how full of sins, of egoistic attributes and desires, he is, which makes him resent others.
The month of Elul is called the time of repentance, which means the return of the created being to the Creator, to resembling and being equal in form to His attributes, to love and bestowal.
Discovering our sins and transgressions is already a correction. All we must do is to acknowledge our corruption. People try to conceal their evil and hide it, while the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us to bring out your evil because, you are a complete egoist. The moment these sins and transgressions are discovered, they immediately will be corrected.
We are divided and immersed in our ego, but we must connect like the parts of Adam’s one soul. Our role is to find the way to connection and unity. We look for the way, but each time, we discover that we really don’t want to unite, and we don’t yearn for connection. This is actually our only sin, and simply discovering that is the entire correction.
A prayer is judging yourself, the desire to discover and bring out all your sins and transgressions so that they can be corrected and will disappear. Regret and repentance is not tears but the recognition of the need to unite. We see that the world is beginning to realize that without connection and unity we simply will not be able to survive.
Every time we discover different sins against connection and unity inside us, they will be corrected thanks to our revelation. We cannot correct anything by ourselves and it is our duty only to discover the evil within us and to point out the egoistic attribute of our character. This is called a prayer, judging yourself.
Question: Why is it enough to simply discover and highlight our egoistic attributes, which already is the correction?
Answer: When we discover and highlight our evil, we realize to what extent we need correction. The correction itself is done by the Light that Reforms.
When we discover our ego and our sins, we draw the Light of correction. It is written, “’I have created the evil inclination, I have created the Torah as a spice’ …since the Light in it reforms it.”
The Torah is the general Light that is around us, but it operates on us only if we discover the attributes inside us that stand in the way of our connection and unity, which means our sins.
The main thing is to determine the diagnosis because the remedy already exists! The moment we discover the ego inside us that doesn’t allow us to connect, the Light that Reforms, called the Torah, immediately operates on it and corrects this desire.
The correction allows us to connect with others, but to the extent that we connect internally and begin to feel close to one another, the Upper Light can be revealed to us and let us feel the upper world.
Our work in the month of Elul comes down to revealing the evil that doesn’t let us unite with others. During this time, the evil only is revealed, but it is corrected when the new year begins on Rosh HaShana.

How Do We Heal The Hatred?

Laitman_079_02Baal HaSulam, “Introduction to The Book of Zohar”, Section 71: The reason for their words is, as we have explained, that when all those who engage in the Torah degrade their own internality and the internality of the Torah, leaving it as though it were redundant in the world, and engage in it only at a time that is neither day nor night, and in this regard, they are like blind searching the wall, by that, they intensify their own externality, the benefit of their own bodies.
Also, they consider the externality of the Torah higher than the internality of the Torah. And with these actions they cause all the forms of externality in the world to overpower all the internal parts in the world…
In such a generation, all the destructors among the nations of the world raise their heads and wish primarily to destroy and to kill the children of Israel, as it is written (Yevamot 63), “No calamity comes to the world but for Israel.” This means, as it is written in the above corrections, that they cause poverty, ruin, robbery, killing, and destruction in the whole world.
The time has come to leave the exile, but it is still difficult for us to understand the truth, which is that we must reach “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Leviticus19:18), which was written in the Torah 3,000 years ago. It has been difficult for us to sustain what has been written for thousands of years since the giving of the Torah.
Moreover, it is difficult for us to acknowledge that we are the complete opposite of the central principle of the Torah because there is a deep, unfounded hatred that exists between us that is not found anywhere else. There is no other nation in the world with such hatred between the various sectors as exists among the people of Israel. There are people who live in the nation and hate it even though they receive everything good from it, and there are those who feel precisely the opposite.
Where else is it possible to find an entire population that wants to annihilate its nation and enjoys the destructive actions that it causes? Where else is it possible to find people who yearn for the annihilation, bankruptcy, and eradication of their nation? Where else are there people who enjoy it when something bad happens in their nation?
It is clear that the Klipot (Shells) are active here, higher forces that are revealed in this form. So, it is difficult to justify the words of the Torah.
Question: Are we pointing the finger of blame on these people?
Answer: Of course, we don’t blame anyone. After all, this is our collective problem, the trouble of the people who are in such a wretched state and must now rise up and overcome it.  I count on the secular part; it can actually approach the internal implementation of the Torah, even without “external support.” And maybe the two  parts gradually will complement each other until they unite and not mixed together.
Without a doubt, the analysis of Baal HaSulam is correct, but the solution will come through the secular world and not through the ultra-Orthodox world. After thirty years of living among the ultra-Orthodox population, I understand them very well. None of them is to blame for this. After all, all of us are remnants of the exile, especially the religious Jews, and they still are imbued with that spirit.
What is to be done if a person carries out actions that bring negative results because they accustomed him from childhood that these actions are obligatory? Everyone around him absolutely supports the external implementation and doesn’t support the internal part in any manner or form. This is also true among the secular population. No one wants to implement the principle, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Basically, everything had to happen, even the destruction of the First and Second Temples, the exile that continued until this very day, and the rise to the top, but this ascent can be revealed in different ways. It can exist in the way of Beito (in its time), as the default of the purpose of creation according to the relationship between Lights andKelim (Vessels), but here is our freedom of choice. We can insert our awakening, our personal yearning, into this relationship.
If we want to unite the two parts of the people, we can do this only with the help of the Light that Reforms, which is the Torah, and it illuminates only someone who wants to return to the source. So, if I don’t aim toward a return to bestowal and love through serving others for the Creator, nothing will help, including study and external performance of the Mitzvot (Commandments), for this is not Torah and not Mitzvot. This is not the purpose of creation.
The physical actions in themselves are not useful at all. If I am satisfied with them only, my Torah is dry and barren, and as a result of this, I cause disasters to fall upon the people of Israel and the entire world.
There is nothing to be done for this is a law of creation. There is no reason to argue about it or disagree with it. All of the Kabbalists who achieved all of the systems in the world spoke about this unanimously, and today the time has come to reveal this knowledge to everyone.
The situation has become intolerable. The separation and hatred between us is heading toward a greater disaster than existed eighty years ago in Europe, and I am saying this in all seriousness.
The question can be asked: Can we allow ourselves to remain indifferent? In the twenties of the previous century, the Kabbalists in Europe called for the Jews to leave the place. Baal HaSulam organized an entire project to move them from Poland to the land of Israel, but the leaders of the community did not allow him to carry out his plan, and much later all of them perished in the Holocaust, both those who wanted to travel and those who did not allow them to do so.
The same thing is liable to happen to us here as well if we continue to advance in the same direction. So, it is forbidden for us to inquire as to who is right and who is not.
The Creator is right, establishing strict laws of relationship between the Light and theKli. If we work to connect one with the other, then it will be good for us, and if not, then it will be bad.
I am to blame. In other words, we who have the knowledge must disseminate it among the people of Israel with all our might; we must turn to all who are ready to hear and understand us. So, it could be that a few drops will finally penetrate even into the second sector that is strongly against this.
In my opinion, the religious nucleus must be enveloped by the secular, the people who develop the characteristic of bestowal and love within their environment, and then it even will penetrate internally.

Humanity Does Not Become More Sensible Over Time

Dr. MIchael LaitmanIn the News (scitation.aip.or): “Mathematicians from Cornell University developed a model that shows which type of thinking, intuitive or rational, typified humanity in different phases of its evolution.
“According to the study, there were times in human history when people who had a slow and rational thinking style ruled, and there were times when rulers were typified by quick and intuitive thinking. According to this mathematical model, it seems that people are not becoming more rational with time, but that rational thinking actually develops cyclically and can be compared to the four phases of economic activity (recession, depression, upsurge, prosperity). The domination of rationality depends on the amount of resources accessible to humanity.”
My Comment: Everything develops according to the four phases of direct Light, according to the four letters of the Creator’s name, “HaVaYaH,” the general and individual schema of the whole creation, of the whole world and every part in it. TheUpper Light has to go through the desire (phase zero), the four phases of its spreading (phase one) in order to prepare it and make it available to feel itself and to want to be like the Light itself (phase 2) ,and then to fulfill its desire (phases 3 and 4). Phases 1-4 develop under the influence of the Upper Light.

The Process Of Human Correction Has Begun

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (vesti.ru): “Europe is paying for all the years that it conducted a colonial policy. To combat illegal immigration, France and England are establishing a special coordinating center.
“The experts in this center will be involved with monitoring the illegal immigration of refugees to Europe. In a word, this is called a deluge; rescue from which is not expected in the foreseeable future. Immigrants from the nations of Africa and the Middle East are reaching Europe in a massive stream. The quality and standard of living in Bulgaria or Romania is higher than in Libya, Iraq and Syria.
“Currently, there is a collapse organized by the Western nations, therefore the stream of immigrants to Europe has broken out. There is no solution to the immigration problem under current European conditions. The European Union cannot limit the flood of immigration, neither physically nor legally. What is left is only to build walls, but no wall will stop the immigrants who want and aspire to the good life in Europe. The European Union began its way specifically with the removal of fences and barriers. Has the opposite process now begun?”
My Comment: The reverse process cannot happen. The process of the mixing of the peoples has begun, as in the beginning of the development of our civilization inancient Babylon. We are returning to the beginning. And we will be obliged to do what they did but did not complete, which was the ancient Jews under the leadership of our father Abraham, the founder all religions, connecting above all the oppositions and differences, as Abraham taught, according to the general rule, “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”
And the correction phase begins from the most egoistic part of humanity, from Europe. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, continuation will come either through the way of suffering with the conquest of Europe by the Muslims, world war, the turning to Israel and the correction of humanity from hatred to love, or, through the way of Torah by accepting the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah in order to rapidly correct the universal ego from collective hatred to love.
Which will they choose?

The Wisdom Of Kabbalah And Evil – Two Things That Don’t Go Along

laitman_627_1Question: Is anyone who feels love and goodness towards others a Kabbalist?
Answer: If it is true love and bestowal towards others, it means that he is a Kabbalist. The problem is if we are mistaken and only seemingly love and bestow unto one another. There is no love in our world.
Comment: Many people believe that they are good and loving.
Answer: This is a mistake. A Kabbalist develops a special attribute of true love andbestowal, which is not the disguised receiving that is only a more developed and sophisticated ego.
The attribute of love and bestowal is built above the ego, above our nature. Then we can actually feel what is external to us, which is only one force called the Creator. The revelation of His love and bestowal unto us is called the upper world. A Kabbalist is someone who fulfills the principle of “love thy friend as thyself,” which allows him to feel the upper world.
Question: What is the upper world?
Answer: The upper world is the sum of forces, influences, and actions of the upper force upon us. A Kabbalist sees forces that other people cannot see. He begins to cooperate with the upper force, with all the individual components of this one force that stems from the Creator. Thus we begin to respond to His call, to act in response to it, and become the Creator’s partners.
A Kabbalist cooperates with the upper force and thus changes reality. By constantly changing himself, he can make the world and people’s lives better.
Question: Can a Kabbalist use his superpowers to cause people harm?
Answer: This is impossible; after all, to begin with, it is the force of love and bestowal that he acquires.
Comment: But we often hear on the news that a person who engaged in the Torah was also involved in prohibited acts.
Answer: A Kabbalist cannot cause anyone harm. The wisdom of Kabbalah changes a person’s nature into an altruistic one. First and foremost he restricts his ego.
The Torah contains the Light that Reforms that can turn our egoistic inclination into the good inclination. A Kabbalist uses the Upper Light and correct his nature from evil to good. This is the first sign. If a person causes others harm, he is not a Kabbalist.

After Us Comes The Deluge

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Konstantin Ranks, geologist): “The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) announced that August 13, 2015 is Earth Overshoot Day. The essence of this day is that on this date humanity has reached the maximal wastage of the resources that the Earth is ready to regenerate by the end of the year. In the remaining days until the end of the year, we will be living entirely on the account of the reserves of the Earth.
“We have found ourselves in a blind alley, the development of the economy is leading to the destruction of the Earth, but humanity has no desire and no ability to relinquish mass consumption.”
My Comment: This is precisely why the method of correction of our nature must be disseminated, since this is the most important and realistic task. Only recognition of the possibility of another, higher way of life, without limits or reception but with bestowal, will elevate us to equivalence with the Creator and stop our insanity. We will move to a new level of development. either by the way of suffering or by the way of understanding and recognition of this need.

Special Attributes Of The Third And Fourth Generations

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, “Numbers”, 14:17 – 14:18: Now, please, let the strength of the Lord be increased, as You spoke, saying, “The Lord is slow to anger and abundantly kind, forgiving iniquity and transgression, Who cleanses [some] and does not cleanse [others], Who visits the iniquities of parents on children, even to the third and fourth generations.”
There are three generations from Keter to MalchutHochmaBina, and  Zeir Anpin. That’s the way it is in every spiritual state. The Creator’s image is formed on the fourth level, Malchut. The third generation is Zeir Anpin, a state of smallness, where the egois erased and then fully corrected in the fourth generation. This is symbolized by the words: Who visits the iniquities of parents on children, even to the third and fourth generations. It is about the ascent of Malchut through Zeir Anpin to Bina, toHochma, and then to Keter.
The Torah, “Numbers”, 14:19 – 14:23: Please forgive the iniquity of this nation in accordance with your abounding kindness, as You have borne this people from Egypt until now. And the Lord said, “I have forgiven them in accordance with your word. However, as surely as I live, and as the glory of the Lord fills the earth that all the people who perceived My glory, and the signs that I performed in Egypt and in the desert, yet they have tested me these ten times and not listened to My voice, if they will see the Land that I swore to their fathers, and all who provoked Me will not see it.
There is nothing bad about that. On the contrary, it is about a great mercy that the Creator performs when He kills everyone, which means that He kills all of the egoistic desire.
The reason is that it is only in the altruistic desires that replace the egoistic desires that the people can feel the state called the land of Israel. All this rage is necessary in order to correct egoism to altruism. No egoist can enter the state of the attribute of love and bestowal called the land of Israel. He must first die, which means to be reborn and enter it, either in a state of smallness (the third generation) or in a state of greatness (the fourth generation).
Therefore, when the Torah speaks about punishment, destruction and death, it refers to the egoism, which actually has to be destroyed. Only the attributes of love and bestowal that replace it will feel the state of the land of Israel.

How Can We Overcome The Ego?

Laitman_514_02The Torah, “Numbers”, 14:4 – 14:7: And they said one to another: “Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.” Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of them that spied out the land, rent their clothes. And they spoke unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: ‘The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land.”
The spies who were sent to spy in the land of Israel crossed it to its length and breadth. They explored the land on all the levels, which means all the vessels, all the five levels of NRNHY, and discovered that it is good.
The Torah, “Numbers”, 14: 8 – 14:9: If the LORD delight in us, then He will bring us into this land, and give it unto us—a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us; their defence is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us; fear them not.
The nations who lived in the land of Israel are our giant egoistic desires. When a person understands that he cannot overcome his impulses and sees his egoistic rival inside him, he simply surrenders and lets the ego do whatever it wants with him; or he may try to do something, but he cannot overcome the ego and has no powers to do so. Only if he connects to a group, to an environment, can he receive powers from them and then be able to overcome this obstacle, just like twenty small men can overcome one giant, for example.
Therefore, when Caleb and Joshua say that the time of the egoistic desires is over and if the nation of Israel goes along with the Creator, they mean that it is by His power that they will be able to enslave the ego, to smash it underneath them. Then all the egoistic obstacles that they see in the form of giants will function properly.
Question: What does it mean that they “rent their clothes?”
Answer: It means that all the previous external Masachim (Screens), the Returning Light, all the clothing they had, are not suitable for the new level. Now they need to be dressed in a totally different Returning Light. This means that they have to change their clothes. In our world there is a custom that when someone dies his relatives tear their clothes in his funeral. This means that they are just about to reach a new level. It is not the person who dies, but his ego, and therefore we bury it. This is the reason that we mourn the dead for seven days, gradually leaving him and once you are totally free of the previous level, you change your clothes and start a new life. The days of mourning, the seven days, thirty days, and the year symbolize reincarnations, when the sameReshimot (spiritual genes) return and you gradually raise them until the end of correction.
