Quarantine—The First Step Toward Overcoming The Crisis

laitman_597.01Global mutual responsibility is the law for all elements, connected in one system. This law obligates everyone to know how he or she should relate to the system in order to bring it into equilibrium, to perfect mutual relationships between all parts.
And of course, we are unable to even grasp this law, and more so, to fulfill it. I cannot make such a commitment because if I do not fulfill my function in the integrated system, then all of it will go out of balance and I will be the one to blame.
Everyone will feel that I have violated the perfection of the system. It turns out that each element is equivalent to the whole system in general, and this is a terrible responsibility. Everyone is responsible for the whole world. Therefore, it is said: “It is better sit and do nothing.”
So now people were asked to quarantine themselves, to not go out anywhere, fly, or come in contact with anyone. So what needs to be done?
We need to study that we are in an integral and global system where the law of mutual responsibility, that is, mutual dependence, operates, and how we can invert this dependence from obligatory into desirable. We want to be connected, not because nature obliges us, but because we ourselves start revealing how good it is to be in touch.
It is just heavenly life—to unite together into one perfect unity and begin to feel the perfection of nature. Then we will feel all parts of nature from the most distant stars to such forms of life that we do not know now. A man can become an exalted creator of perfection.
The first step in overcoming the crisis is quarantine, that is, “sit and do nothing,” just learn. Humanity’s problem is that we begin to act even before we understand what we are doing. While we are in quarantine, we have time to think: in what world do we exist, who are we, and what is the system of nature in which we live, as well as how do we depend on the system of nature and it depends on us?
How do we, through our relationships with each other, influence the global system of nature: inanimate matter, plants, animals, and humans, and how does nature react to our actions? As such, we will begin to learn how to build a beautiful home for everyone—not just comfortable, but eternal and perfect, above this biological life and death, at a higher level.
By correcting the connection between us, we rise to an infinite system, unlimited in time. We begin to live in a world in which death does not exist and there are no restrictions, only unlimited attainment and existence. Now we get the opportunity to come to such a life.
First of all, we need to study the global system of nature and our role in it and how we can get organized among ourselves in order to connect to this global system of nature. After all, each of us is an egoist, the opposite of nature. And how can I adapt myself to the system of nature, which is all integral and exists according to the law of mutual responsibility, connection, love, and mutual complementarity if I have been built with the exact opposite qualities?
This is where the wisdom of Kabbalah comes to our aid; it teaches us egoists how to build a connection between us similar to the integral system of nature. This is called the “ten” in which ten people come together to establish relationships that are consistent with the system of nature.
The human ego has always tried to adapt the whole world to its needs. But that time is over. The epidemic revolutionized consciousness in the world, and we began to understand that we could not use everything only for our own benefit, but we should look for how to become useful for the whole system.
Ten people are like a small laboratory where we try to develop an antivirus by agreeing to establish the same laws between us as the ones that operate in a perfect nature, integral and global, that is, in mutual bestowal. Everyone lowers himself and raises others above himself, building relationships that are higher than everyone’s personal egoism. This will serve as a vaccine against the virus.
Thus, new groups will arise until all of humanity receives an anti-virus vaccine, and we will return everyone to behavior that corresponds to a healthy nature. This will be a new human, because he will perceive the desire of the nine friends as his own and take care of them more than taking care of himself.
To this extent, he will receive support from the integral law of nature, which will turn him into its integral part. The law of mutual guarantee obliges a person to be connected with the whole system above his egoism.
Nature made man the greatest egoist of all creatures. But the global nature of this crisis wants to show us that it has already been waiting to make us its inextricable parts. It is as if nature is telling us: “I am ready now to include you inside myself as integral elements.”
And this is despite the fact that each of us is created anti-integral and wants only to rule and use others. Nature has made us inverse to itself, so that we compare the negative and positive states and appreciate the “advantage of light from darkness.” We will then be able to feel and realize the integral, perfect state and want to achieve it. Otherwise, we would not understand where we are.
Nature originally installed a selfish program in us, which now stops working. We need to understand that a selfish program is incompatible with a global and connected world.
The crisis is pushing us to agree to connect with others and fulfill the integral law of nature. We need to install in ourselves a new, improved mutual guarantee program—the only program that exists in nature.
This program works in everything except the human, only we cannot perceive it with our spoiled, selfish mind. We judge the world based on our shortcomings, and therefore, see it as spoiled. But as soon as we begin to correct ourselves and want to become an integral part of nature, we will see a completely different world and realize that it has always been like that, only we did not notice it.
The law of mutual guarantee states that we all belong to one system and are obliged to feel like gears of one mechanism where everyone depends on everyone. By this we will provide ourselves with eternal, perfect, beautiful life. Nothing more is needed, and the crisis created by the coronavirus epidemic brings us closer to this. Let’s wish us all success in its proper resolution.

Put Your Friends Into Your Heart

laitman_934Question: How can we understand what the ten in my heart is?
Answer: You, together with the others, should try to put all your friends in your heart, create a unified image of ten there, where they all combine into one common shape, one common image.
Then, try to feel this image consisting of ten as one and compare it with the Creator: what is still missing for this image to be similar to the Creator.
Start working on it and you will see how many questions will appear for you.

Why Does A Kabbalist Need To Seclude Himself?

Laitman_721.02Question: In your book Always with Me, you describe how Rabash used to seclude himself for a few days. We also see that both Buddha and monks did the same. They went away from people and engaged in their work. What is the meaning of such seclusion?
Answer: The fact is that such things also happen to most ordinary people. For example, writers as a rule seclude themselves in their office, sit, and create. It is thus better to leave them alone, and not to interfere. This is natural.
But for a Kabbalist this is twice as natural because solitude for him is a process of a very serious self-introspection. It is necessary in order to understand more than himself, his connection with creation and the Creator.
There is a special technique for how to penetrate deeper into the universe, to reveal it, to evoke its influence upon oneself, and to bring this sensation to a state of obtaining clear comprehension of what is happening and not just sensations.
We are talking exactly about comprehension which can be clothed in words and possibly, even drawings, charts, and formulas.
Kabbalists delve deeper into themselves and through themselves into an enormous whole world. Everything is ahead of you.

What Is So Unique about the Coronavirus?

Dr. Michael Laitman

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 3/20/20
The coronavirus pandemic we are now experiencing will go down in history as a very unique period. A state of emergency around the world and the paralysis of our economic and social structures have come about all due to one tiny and hardly visible virus.
Other than the coronavirus’ health risks, it endangers the systems that human society was constructed on. It makes no distinction between economic and social status, whether one is a simple worker or a president.
If we thought that we had strong economic and social infrastructures, we quickly saw that a microscopic virus could pull the carpet from under our feet. Countries left, right and center are closing their borders and requesting their citizens to stay at home other than leaving for essential needs.
Therefore, we see how one little virus came along and dismantled the materialistic connections that we created between us, connections based on making money, exploiting and competing with each other.
The Coronavirus: An Example of Human Imbalance with Nature
Nature constantly aspires to restore balance: a state of well-oiled interdependence based on everyone considering the common benefit of all. Our egoistic nature, on the other hand, opposes such mutual consideration, as the human ego strives to use anybody and anything in order to benefit itself.
It follows that we brought about this virus by driving our egoistic connections to unparalleled heights. Consequently, a biological particle surfaced that has the strength to shatter our egoistic connections.
Other than the coronavirus, we encounter countless problems on personal, social, global and ecological scales in the modern world, and it is all due to us trying to build our success on the ruin of others.
In recent times, the human ego passed all limitations. The integral mechanism of nature could no longer bear the soaring levels of exploitation, manipulation and abuse among us humans, and it thus reacted with the coronavirus.
In nature, the human level is its most influential. It affects physical and biological connections on its lower animate, vegetative and still levels. As such, negative human connections give rise to negative feedback toward humans from biological phenomena at lower levels.
However, pandemics are nothing new to our world. We experienced many more deaths in other pandemics of the past, when the ego was much smaller than it is today. We have been though pandemics so relentless that they even discarded with populations of entire cities. Moreover, the coronavirus’ mortality rate is relatively low, and by comparison, the seasonal flu has caused more illnesses and deaths. What, then, is so unique about the coronavirus?
What Is So Unique about the Coronavirus?
The coronavirus’ uniqueness is that, despite the highest level of progress that we have ever achieved in our world, it shows us how we are unable to get our life in order.
With full material well-being, we lack positive human relations. And we can only point the finger of blame on ourselves, or more accurately, on the egoistic human nature involuntarily lurking beneath our every thought and action.
Through the revelation of the coronavirus, nature shows us that we need only cure the ego, i.e., that we need to change our approach to the world from “how can others benefit me?” to “how can I benefit others?” That is the deeper meaning behind the pandemic.
We live in a global and integral world, and the coronavirus pandemic clarifies that our ego-based connections in an interdependent world are faulty and dangerous.
Nature has brought us to the realization of our total dependence on each other. From this realization, we are given time to examine how can we relate to each other and to nature differently, with attitudes of mutual support, encouragement and consideration replacing those of exploitation, manipulation and abuse. If we use the time we have now to impact this shift, we will come out of this pandemic into a new and balanced world, and experience our global interdependence harmoniously.

When Will Coronavirus Disappear?

laitman_592.04What is the reason for the spreading of the coronavirus? We must understand that this is a reaction of nature. Nature obligates us to realize that we are in an integral system.
If we disobey the laws of this integral system, its basic law of mutual responsibility, which connects together all parts of the system, then the system responds with blows.
So far this is just the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic and we must take it and other viruses that are yet to be revealed as a signal of our incorrect connection with each other.
We must learn that we exist in the integral system of nature where all parts are connected with each other and there is only one disruptive force in the entire system—the human being.
We must correct ourselves because nature will nevertheless force us to improve our relations with each other until they become so good that the virus will disappear.

Feel The Force Connecting Us

laitman_264.01Each of us receives an initial desire for the revelation of the Creator, which is called the point in the heart. But this point itself is unable to cope with anything; it cannot perform any action. All we can do from the very beginning is to annul our egoism as much as possible in order to connect with our friends.
We await the Creator to make this connection between us. And as soon as I feel connected with my friends, right there, in this mutual connection: “Me with my friend and my friend with me,” I feel this force connecting us—the quality of the Creator, the mutual bestowal between me and my friend. Thus, we reveal the Creator.
It turns out that what is in each of us doesn’t matter, but what matters is between us—the network itself is more important than the nodes of the grid. Although the network is created on the basis of the nodes, to achieve the goal of merging with the Creator, the grid is much more important.
There is only one soul in the world, and this soul is in its entirety found in every person of Israel (Yashar-Kel), which means “straight to the Creator,” that is, in everyone who is eager to practically reveal the upper force, the source of his soul.
How is it that each of us can feel this whole soul completely even though there are billions of people in the world? Each person, each part of the soul, in proportion to its connection with others, begins to attain the same common soul. Until a person unites with everyone, he does not recognize this soul but only some part of it. But, having revealed all the connections, he will feel the whole upper light, like Adam HaRishon, the only soul created by the Creator.
Now I do not feel it only because there is the force of the shattering in me, which prevents me from feeling myself in the corrected, perfect, unique state. Because of this inner shattering, I seem to be unconscious, as if in a dream, and should wake up from sleep. Now we are separated from the real reality, and when we wake up at the end of correction, we will realize that we were in a terrible dream.
The inner power of the shattering separates each one from the rest and keeps everyone in a dream. But when we begin to work on our correction, we attract the upper light, which awakens us. And then we return from sleep to reality and feel the true life, realizing that we all relate to one system, one soul.

The Global Pandemic

laitman_294.2We live during a very special time, which will be remembered in history as the “coronavirus pandemic.” The worldwide emergency has been that has become global. And it is all because of one tiny virus. One can hardly see it, yet it has managed to produce an enormous revolution and paralyze our entire life.
Besides the danger that this disease entails, it destroys all systems that human society is built upon. The virus threatens everyone from a simple worker to a prime minister.
It seemed to us that the structures we built were powerful and unshakable, but it turned out that a microscopic virus can undercut the entire system at the root. Countries are closing their borders and asking their citizens to isolate themselves for a long period of time. The entire world is hiding at home and locking itself up.
So what is happening? Here comes one little virus that breaks all profitable connections that we have built between us so that we make money from others, exploit, and compete with each other. Obviously, this was not a good state because nature always aspires to restore the correct balance inasmuch as it is able to withstand our egoistic nature that strives to use everybody.
It follows that we engendered this virus ourselves by driving our relationships to an unprecedented egoistic level. Consequently, there appeared a virus, a biological particle able to break down all the egoistic relationships we have built.
There is no end to strife in the modern world where everyone wants to use the other or even destroy him. Egoism has crossed all limits and as a result, the virus appeared. The integral mechanism of nature could not bear such a level of human interactions and it has reacted with the coronavirus.
The lack of positive connection between people gives rise to the biological phenomenon at the lower level. Human relationships represent the highest degree of nature that affects the physical and biological connections below them.
Epidemics are nothing new to our world. In the past, the epidemics were so severe that they emptied entire cities. What is so special about the coronavirus? The mortality rate is not that high; inevitably a certain number of people die every year the seasonal flu.
But the problem is that despite the highest level of progress that we have achieved, we are unable to get our life in order. With full material well-being, there is the the lack of positive human relations. That is why we cannot build a normal society and educate our children correctly.
It is all the fault of the human ego. Nature shows us that only our egoism needs a cure and that is why it reveals the coronavirus for us. This is the inner meaning of the crisis.
We live in a global world and the pandemic makes it clear that our global connection might be dangerous. However, we have no choice: human development brings us to the realization of our connection and total dependence on each other.
By trying to thwart the pandemic, the countries are trying to close themselves up and isolate people by breaking down the connections. But ultimately, we will only realize that it is impossible because by this we doom ourselves to a miserable life as if returning to primitive times.

“Coronavirus: Opportunity To Change Our Social Infrastructure” (Thrive Global)

Thrive Global published my new article: “Coronavirus: Opportunity to Change Our Social Infrastructure
If we help and support each other, we will have what it takes to make it through this transitory period into a whole new, balanced and harmonious world.
An empty Times Square is seen following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), in New York City, U.S., March 18, 2020. REUTERS/Jeenah Moon
We can find many reasons to complain about the disruptions in our lives since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. However, if we take a closer look, we will see that we are in the midst of a rare opportunity to change our social infrastructure for the better.
The coronavirus’ worldwide rippling effects have provided us with a unique perception test: Whether we view the coronavirus pandemic as crisis or opportunity, disease or medicine, virus or vaccine, isolation in our homes or new stage of human connection, depends solely on our attitude.
Nature develops everything and everyone to more and more connection. As such, nature’s innate quality aims to mend and heal any tears and divisions that surface within it.
The parallel races we were running for excessive consumption, materialistic status and exploitative power, where we had setup our lives to outcompete others in one or all of those areas, came to a sudden halt with the onset of the coronavirus.
If we thus step back and view humanity as a single organism for a moment, we can then see how the coronavirus came not as a disease, but as medicine: to heal the body of humanity from the egoistic, consumeristic and materialistic addiction of its cells—us.
However, since we became accustomed to looking through narrow egoistic lenses, where we each seek self-benefit at the expense of others, creating and abiding by social infrastructures that function accordingly, we then find it very hard to see the positive impact of the restrictions that the coronavirus has brought to our lives.
We perceive nature’s positive influence as negative due to our opposite mindset: nature functions integrally, as a single interconnected whole, whereas we perceive individually, seeing ourselves as separate beings from other people and nature.
Also, where nature acts to benefit the whole creation at every moment, leading it carefully and gradually to a state of total connection and homeostasis, we act in an opposite way: selfishly taking into account only whoever and whatever we need for our own benefit and comfort.
There is thus no negative action or attitude in nature. What we perceive as negative is due to our opposite negative and egoistic form to nature’s positive and altruistic form.
Therefore, if we view the coronavirus as nature giving us its medicine—an opportunity to connect more positively among each other and realize our newfound global interdependence in a mutually encouraging way—then we will be able to create a happy and healthy world for us all.
Understandably, in the beginning it is expected to be difficult to overcome the barriers we have established between us. But if we help and support each other, we will have what it takes to make it through this transitory period into a whole new, balanced and harmonious world.

The Land Of Israel: Dispersion And Assimilation, Part 4

laitman_747.01Egoism’s Impulses
Comment: During the time of the First Temple, the schism between people gradually intensified. The people, like its spiritual leaders, were constantly faced with a choice: either to live by the method of Moses, which he received at Mt. Sinai, or to adopt the lifestyle of their neighbors.
Interestingly, throughout history Jews have always tried to be like their neighbors.
Answer: To be like means to reject living above one’s ego and existing within egoism, like all other nations. Of course this inclination exists inside each of us because it is a natural internal impulse of one’s egoism. Since egoism keeps growing, it follows that such impulses are constant.
Thus, when we are talking about assimilation, “to be like other nations” means to use egoism for oneself.
From the perspective of Kabbalah, the “nations of the world” are our egoistic desires, while “Israel” is the altruistic desires. As a result of this, there are both kinds of people in the world.
Concerning nationality, any person who begins to correctly balance their egoism can become a Jew.

How Names Are Given To Phenomena And Objects

laitman_961.2Question: When I reach a state higher than the one I am in now, will I be able to give my name to this state? Or will I only reveal the names that we study in Kabbalah?
Answer: That is correct. You will reveal these states as they are called in Kabbalah. You will look, say, at a wine glass and say: “Oh! This is called a wine glass. Wine-glass.” Actually, you never knew this word before, but when you see this object, you will understand what it is called.
And this is so with everything that you find at any degree of any world. This is where the name comes from in Kabbalah. Only from attainment.
In our world, names are given from the attainment of the root and the branch. Since everything that is at the level of our world comes from the upper world, the Kabbalists, knowing these roots, gave names to the objects of our world. Therefore, this is how terminology in our world came about.
All this is described in Kabbalistic books. In fact, this was done by Adam 5,780 years ago.

New Life 306 – Social Impact

New Life 306 – Social Impact
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
All human beings live in a connected network where even thoughts move from one to another without words. We constantly check ourselves in relation to those around us with the aim of feeling more secure in society. Today, various stakeholders want to channel the masses through media, culture, books, and movies. Revolutions are being brought about deliberately through these forms of social influence. We can create a positive social impact when we connect with one another based upon the principle ”love your neighbor as yourself.”

“We Have Gathered Here”

laitman_942Spirituality can only be reached through connection. We are in the spiritual world, but we do not feel it because we only feel ourselves.
Therefore, we need to make a leap in our perception, transfer it from the personal one, in which everyone feels themselves in this world, to the feeling of existence within the upper force of bestowal and love, which connects all of us together into one vessel, one desire.
All souls extend from the soul of Adam HaRishon because after the sin with the Tree of Knowledge this soul was divided into 600,000 souls. And one light that filled this vessel, this single great desire, was divided into many parts, many bodies, individual desires.
That is why we see this world consisting of billions of people with conflicting, disconnected desires. If we want to reveal the spiritual world, the world of truth, we must connect.
That is why the first lesson of the World Kabbalah Convention 2020 is called “We Have Gathered Here” because there is really nothing else that can be done. If we gather and connect into one soul, as it was before the shattering of Adam HaRishon, before the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, we will return to the upper world, to the spiritual state, becoming again the first man Adam.
Therefore, a person has nothing to do in this world, except to look for ways to connect with others. Of course, this is against our nature, there is nothing more repulsive and opposite to it, and therefore, we do not want to hear about it.
Yet, the Creator, the upper light, influences us again and again with infinite patience, in order to teach us that nothing will change for the better until we decide to connect in a good way.
This is how humanity learns. People do not yet understand what is happening to them, but the impressions of the global crisis and growing problems penetrate our sensory organs, our memory, and whether we want it or not, they make us wiser, more experienced. One day we will be wise enough to agree that there is no way out but to connect.
However, if we study the wisdom of Kabbalah, it becomes clear to us what needs to be done. After all, we reveal not only the disease and its cause, which comes from human egoism, but also the remedy that allows us to escape egoism. If I suffer so much because of it, then I need to get rid of it.
The wisdom of Kabbalah helps us in this, we just need to organize a small group of like-minded people and attract the reforming light. Kabbalah teaches us how our desires can connect with each other and work together, and perform actions called “restriction,” “screen,” “reflected light,” “Zivug de Hakaa” (coupling while striking), and “reception for the sake of bestowal.”
By studying what happens in our desires, we gradually correct ourselves. When we learn and talk about it, the force that gradually changes us is shining upon us.
As it is written, “Penny by penny joins into a great amount.” We have a system that can include us in itself, connect us, and draw the reforming light that will influence us. Even if we do not really want it now, in the end, we will demand that the force of bestowal, altruistic relationships above our egoism, will be revealed between us.
All souls come from the one soul of Adam created by the Creator. After Adam‘s sin with the Tree of Knowledge, that is, after the shattering of this single desire, which ceased to be like the Creator losing its altruistic intention and becoming egoistic, it was divided into 600,000 private souls.
The one light that filled Adam HaRishon in the Garden of Eden, that is, in the state when he was connected into one soul and held within himself the force of bestowal, Bina, disappeared after the shattering, and only a tiny spark of it remained in each part.
Now, when we find ourselves inside bodies that were added to the broken parts of the soul, we feel the inclination to connect all the spiritual sparks together. That is why we are gathering and working on our connection, thus bringing back the upper light that will shine within us.
When the light returns, it becomes 620 times stronger than before because we are acting against the distance that appeared between us and therefore, we reach adhesion with the upper force, with the Creator.
One common desire was on the degree of Bina, which is called the soul and when it shattered it fell down to the degree of Malchut. We need to collect all the particles that fell into Malchut and raise them to Bina, the Garden of Eden. Malchut is called this world and Bina is called the next world.
Therefore, through our connection, we must raise ourselves from this world, in which we feel ourselves now to the future world, to the degree of Bina, where we will feel our existence as eternal, perfect without any hardships and problems, all of us together, permeated with the force of bestowal and love for each other.
The upper light intensifies its glow all the time, and when we feel this illumination from the spiritual force of bestowal and love, we feel more and more opposite to it. It turns out that every day we feel worse and worse, the world becomes more and more corrupted. There is nothing left but to correct ourselves and become like the force of bestowal that shines upon us from above.
That is why we see this world in crisis, helpless, and not understanding what is happening. Perhaps tomorrow all the volcanoes on earth will wake up and start spewing billions of tons of ash into the atmosphere so that we will not see the sun. The world will freeze and sink into darkness.
We ourselves activate these forces because we live in an integral system and we must know how to bring the forces of nature into balance. If we become kind to each other, then nature will become kinder to us.
There is no other way to influence inanimate matter, plants and animals, these forces in nature, if not through a human. A person is a thought, an intention. The physical body is just an animal, but by our attitude toward each other, we can elevate ourselves to a higher degree: from animalistic level to human level. The human being, “Adam” means “similar to the Creator.”
Therefore, we must understand that all the disasters and problems in the world are sent specifically to oblige us to move and begin to put the world in order, establishing a balance in it. To do this, we just need to get closer to each other and work on your egoism.
Then from the human level, from the highest level of nature, we will oblige all the other forces of nature that are below us on the animal, vegetative, and inanimate levels to come into balance, and the whole world will find peace and happiness.
The state of our world Bnei Baruch group is exceptional; after all, out of all the billions of individual souls, we were chosen to be in the system of Israel, that is, the system directed “straight to the Creator,” which pulls all of humanity to correction.

“What Is The Role Of Women In Society Today?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What is the role of women in society today?
Women’s strengths should be directed in such a way where through female unity, they could contribute to society’s prosperity and happiness, unifying their efforts into building a new, comfortable and welcoming home for human society.
According to nature’s structure, the female represents the desire to receive while the male represents the intention to give.
Therefore, if women express a desire for humanity’s unity above all of its divisions, and if they unite as a major force with this desire, they will urge men in the direction of unity.
Then, when men receive such a strong impetus to unite from women, they will work to fulfill those demands, striving to unite and balance with the unified form of nature that functions with altruistic connections among all of its parts.
The world and human society will then turn into Heaven on Earth, a society that functions according to nature’s most fundamental law, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” We will then all feel as if we share a common home, living among a giant loving family, in a completely new and upgraded kind of awareness of the laws of nature and the world that we exist in.

Why A Circle And Not A Square?

laitman_938.07Question: Why do you talk specifically about the center of the circle and not about the center of a square? What is a circle?
Answer: A circle is when everyone is equal.
If all the friends in a ten unite and try to be completely equal to each other, then geometrically it is depicted as a circle.
You are one that joins the circle. And all of your completely equal and equivalent efforts accumulate together, and then the Creator is revealed at the center of the circle.

The Essence And The Root Of Unity, Part 3

laitman_767.1Spiritual Actions and Worldly Terms
Comment: Many Kabbalists and even philosophers of the Middle Ages write that in all primary sources there isn’t a single word about our world, only objects and phenomena that are above time, space, and motion. Even back then people already knew about such things.
The great Kabbalist of the 20th century, Baal HaSulam, writes in his Study of the Ten Sefirot, (Talmud Eser Sefirot,) “The authors of the Kabbalistic books use the ‘worldly’ terms only as symbols to denote the higher, spiritual roots.”
My Response: The stories of Kabbalists might seem strange to us, but they describe only spiritual events and actions, not what is happening in our world, although they use worldly terms to describe them. Therefore, the story is perceived as if it really happened in our world. But the fact remains that it could take place or couldn’t.
Question: It turns out that not all spiritual states described by Kabbalists have materialized where a person and all of humanity must go through. Is that the case?
Answer: They can’t all materialize. A person’s and humanity’s experiences in their spiritual development isn’t everything that is displayed in our world. A person experiences special internal events and a struggle with himself, with а general and private egoism, unification and separation within a group. In general, all this is internal work. Does it have a reflection in our world? Such reflection is very insignificant as a rule.

The Land Of Israel: Dispersion And Assimilation, Part 3

laitman_937Temple—a Place of Strengthening Unity
Comment: Once the Jews entered the Land of Israel, they began to connect even more. As a result, the First Temple was built.
My Response: Yes. However, this was also quite nominal since many of them were unable to unite.
Connection was not the uniform desire of all the people. After all, we are talking about voluntary, conscious connection over the ever-growing egoism that tears people apart. This is not easy.
Comment: After the death of King David, his son ascended the throne and built the First Temple—a symbol of unity. It was a place where people came at least three times a year in order to connect.
There is evidence that in Jerusalem, pilgrims were accepted as relatives, given free accommodation, and no one was deprived of care. There was joy everywhere and people felt like one family.
We usually think of a Temple as a place where sacrifices are offered. Here, however, it is referred to as a place of connection.
My Response: Sacrifice is a purely allegorical concept. Animals in the Temple were slaughtered only to prepare a meal. After all, a huge number of people were gathering there and all had to be fed.
Question: Was it not an act of appeasement of the upper force?
Answer: No. In no way. No one thought about it. A person made a donation from the bottom of his heart so that it would help unite all those who came to Jerusalem.
This was the most important thing for those who came to the Temple. At that time, people lived in very small families distant from each other. Each with his own sheep, goats, and a small piece of land that was cultivated with simple, unpretentious tools.
Three times a year, they brought all this to Jerusalem, where they held meals to strengthen unity. The tradition of holding meals exists to this day. Kabbalists have always paid special attention to this. They especially earned, stored, saved money for this, and brought everything possible to the meal: meat, bread, and wine.

The Wisdom Of King Solomon: “Who Can Endure Jealousy?”

Laitman_154Proverbs, 27:4: “Cruelty of wrath, and destruction of anger, but who can stand up before jealousy?”
Wrath is a natural phenomenon, so is anger. But jealousy means comparing yourself with someone or somebody comparing me with someone else. This is horrible! In other words, it is the deepest defeat of egoism.
When somebody tells me that I am wrong, well, I am wrong, in relation to something abstract.
However, when somebody places me next to someone and says that I am nothing compared to him or her, then that’s is. If a person cannot get around it, forget it, drop it, and so on, then there is only one thing left to do: fight against it.
One either destroys the one who said that or destroys the one he is compared with. It is even better to destroy both of them.
Question: This is the most terrible state. What should we do when someone has such a feeling?
Answer: There is nothing we can do. It is necessary to rise to the degree where these laws of nature originate. There, we will see their cause and their correct implementation.
Question: What is the reason for jealousy?
Answer: It is my egoism. That is, I am the victim. I was hurt, my ego. And without it, I cannot live. I have to do something here: either kill myself or kill him or her—one or the other. I cannot continue living like this.
Question: Can I be above this?
Answer: No. Well, I can, but this requires special education, training, psychological help and so on. Otherwise, if I remain in this, wait for murder.
Question: How do Kabbalists solve the issue of jealousy?
Answer: Kabbalists solve this issue very well. They believe that it is necessary to reveal the thought of the Creator: why you have received such a sign from Him and how you should rise above yourself through it. It turns out that you will thank the Creator for giving you such terrible feelings. In fact, they are only there in order to elevate you.
Question: You just said such a contradictory phrase: “The signs are terrible, and I am grateful for them.” Am I grateful for the terrible signs?
Answer: Of course. After all, they elevate me. This is why it is called “above our nature.” However, we need to go through this under supervision, in the group, and so on.
Question: Does a Kabbalist understand where this comes from and why? Then, is everything is  sweetened?
Answer: Yes. I recommend you to find a teacher who will help you overcome all the negative feelings. It is, in fact, possible.

All Problems In The World Are Sent To Oblige Us To Bring It To Balance

laitman_962.3Spirituality is attained only through connection. We are in the spiritual world, but we do not feel it; we feel only ourselves. Therefore, we need to make a leap in our perception, transferring it from the personal, in which everyone feels themselves in this world, to feeling existence within the upper force of bestowal and love, uniting all of us together in one vessel, one desire.
All souls come from the soul of Adam HaRishon because after the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, this soul was divided into 600,000 souls. And the one light that filled this vessel, one big desire, was divided into many parts, bodies, and private desires. Therefore, we see this world divided into billions of people with conflicting and fragmented desires. And if we want to reveal the spiritual world, the world of truth, we must unite.
That is why the first lesson of the 2020 World Kabbalah Convention is called “We Have Gathered Here”; there really is nothing else to do. If we gather and unite in one soul, as it was before the shattering of Adam HaRishon, before the sin of the Tree of Knowledge, we will return to the upper world, in a spiritual state, again becoming Adam HaRishon.
Therefore, a person has nothing to do in this world besides looking for ways to connect with others. And of course, this is against our nature, there is nothing more repulsive and opposite to it; therefore, we do not want to hear about it. But the Creator, the upper light, with infinite patience, acts on us again and again to teach us that nothing will change for the better until we decide to unite in a positive way.
Humanity is learning. People still do not understand what is happening to us, but the impressions of the global crisis and growing problems penetrate our senses, our memory, and whether we like it or not, they make us grow wiser and gain experience. Someday we will grow so wise that we will agree that there is no way out but to connect.
If we study the wisdom of Kabbalah, then what to do becomes clear to us. After all, we reveal not only the disease and its cause emanating from human egoism, but also a medicine that lets us hide from egoism. If I suffer a lot because of it, then I need to free myself from it.
The wisdom of Kabbalah helps us in this, we just need to organize a small group of like-minded people and attract the light that reforms. Kabbalah teaches us how our desires can connect with each other and work together, performing actions called “contraction,” “screen,” “reflected light,” “striking,” and “receiving for the sake of bestowal.” By studying what happens in our desires, we gradually correct ourselves. And when we learn and talk about it, the light that shines on us changes us gradually .
As the saying goes, “penny by penny accumulates to a large sum.” We have a system that can include us within itself, connect us with each other, and attract the light that reforms that will affect us. Even if we do not really want it now, in the end we will demand that the forces of bestowal, altruistic relations atop our egoism, be revealed between us.1
All souls come from the one soul of Adam created by the Creator. But after Adam sinned with the Tree of Knowledge, that is, the shattering of this one desire, which ceased to be like the Creator, it lost the altruistic intention and became selfish; it was divided into 600,000 individual souls. One light filled Adam HaRishon in the “Garden of Eden,” that is, in a state where he was united into one soul and retained the force of bestowal, Bina, within himself, disappeared after the shattering, and in every particle only its tiny spark remained.
Now that we find ourselves in bodies added to the fragments of the soul, we feel a desire to bring all spiritual sparks together. Therefore, we gather and work on our connection, thereby returning the upper light that will shine within us. But by returning, the light becomes 620 times stronger than before because we are acting against the distance that has arisen between us, and therefore we reach the integration with upper force, the Creator.2
One common desire was on the degree of Bina, which is called the soul, and when it shattered, it fell down to the degree of Malchut. We need to collect all the particles that fell into Malchut and elevate them to Bina, to the Garden of Eden. Malchut is called “this world,” and Bina is called “the future world.” Therefore, through our connection, we must elevate ourselves from this world, in which we now feel ourselves, to the “future world,” to the degree of Bina, where we feel our existence as eternal, perfect, without hardships and problems, all together, imbued with the power of bestowal and love for each other.3
The upper light strengthens its glow all the time, and when we feel this illumination from the spiritual power of bestowal and love, we feel more and more opposite to it. It turns out that every day we feel increasingly worse, the world becomes increasingly corrupt. There is nothing left but to correct ourselves and become similar to the force of bestowal that shines on us from above.
And therefore, we see this world in crisis, helpless, and not understanding what is happening. Perhaps all the volcanoes on earth will wake up tomorrow and begin to spew billions of tons of ash into the atmosphere so that we no longer see the sun. The world would freeze and plunge into darkness. But we ourselves activate these forces because we live in an integrated system and we must know how to bring the forces of nature into equilibrium. If we become kind to each other, then nature will become kind to us.
There is no other way to act on inanimate matter, plants and animals, on these forces in nature, if not through humans. Moreover, the person is a thought, an intention. The physical body is just an animal, but through our relationships with each other, we can elevate ourselves one step higher: from the animal level to the human. “Human – Adam” means “like the Creator [Adameh le Elyon].”
Therefore, we must understand that all the misfortunes and problems in the world are sent specifically to oblige us to move and begin to put the world in order, to establish equilibrium in it. To do so, we just need to approach each other and work on our egoism. Then from the human level, from the highest level of nature, we will oblige all other forces of nature, which are below us at the animate, vegetative and still levels, to enter into balance, and the whole world will find peace and happiness.4
The state of our Bnei Baruch world group is exceptional because out of all the billions of individual souls, we were chosen to be in the system of Israel, that is, directed “directly to the Creator,” which pulls humanity toward correction.5
