Torah, Deuteronomy 28:52: And they will besiege you in all your cities, until your high and fortified walls in which you trust come down, throughout all your land. And they will besiege you in all your cities throughout all your land, which the Lord, your God, has given you.
Your enemy is your own egoism. It even appears before you as something external.
The seven nations existing in the land of Israel that are described in the Torah are the seven impure egoistic forces that constantly arise within you and interfere with the intention for complete bestowal and love.
It is written: “until your high and fortified walls in which you trust come down, throughout all your land.” This means that a person wants to be protected. However, this will not help because the wall must be inside the heart. You must erect such a wall in the heart that will collect only your corrected intentions inside and thus it will accumulate altruistic potential. Then gradually you will be able to turn it into a holy city.
A city cannot stand without walls. Therefore, in those ancient times in the land of Israel, there were several cities surrounded by walls. To this day they are considered cities. These are: Jerusalem, Tiberias, Hebron, and Safed. Everything else, according to the Torah, is not considered a city.
This is the consequence of the spiritual law: you must surround yourself with the screen (Masach) through which your own evil intentions that you consider external will not enter your chosen internal intentions of bestowal and love. There must be a wall between them.
Outside of this wall, your not yet corrected egoistic intentions are divided into Beria, Yetzira, and Assiya. You can go out of your city, gradually take those intentions, and bring them closer to the city by correcting them, up to the point when you place them within yourself and begin using them in the right way.
Therefore, there is a strip around the city called 70 Amah (Amah is a cubit, 56 centimetres) and then another 2,000 Amah. You can move a certain distance away from the center, and since not very egoistic desires are located there, you can communicate with them, gradually attracting them to correction and taking them inside the city.
Question: Will these walls ever fall?
Answer: The walls will fall only at the end of the final correction when everything external will become internal.
