Torah, Deuteronomy 28:63: And it will be, just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do good for you and to increase you, so will the Lord cause to rejoice over you to annihilate you and to destroy you. And you will be uprooted from the land which you enter therein, to possess it.
On one hand, the Creator destroys your egoistic desires that prevent you from fulfilling the laws of bestowal and love, but He does it in an evil rather than a kind way. On the other hand, He rejoices because in any case the correction is taking place.
In our world we are unable to appreciate it, in the same way as we are unable to approve of or justify the sufferings that occurred during the inquisition or the Holocaust.
In fact, these are enormous corrections because we could not do them ourselves.
The Creator is the property of the highest degree, which exists in the corrected state, and therefore it is said that He is delighted. After all, this action draws a big Light in the worlds. It causes great darkness within us because we exist in properties opposite to His.
