Education Of Parents – Guaranteed Benefit For Children

Comment: In our times, parents don’t want to be involved with their children. They sit the child in front of the television and then the home is quiet.

Answer: This is happening because today adults have changed; they have become different. They don’t want to devote much attention to a child. It is easier for them to buy him a computer so that he will sit in his room, and they won’t think at all about what he is involved with there. Besides that, they don’t know how to approach the child, even if they wanted to.

Therefor a lot of work must be done in teaching them the right system of behavior with a child. And the fact that they always complain is because basically they themselves education and the children are confused; suddenly they discover that there is a creature growing in their family that doesn’t understand them. This is not a problem of the family, but of the nation, of the schools.

Question: But in the meantime special courses for parents have not been developed. How can those parents, who have problems with their children, overcome this?

Answer: There is no way if they are not included in some kind of educational and informational system, especially educational. They need to educate themselves. And the nation and the society are to blame for this.

Today we have many possibilities for learning, like television and the Internet. Young parents don’t necessarily have to go to night school or visit special courses in the evening; they can learn at home, on the Internet or on open television channels, ask questions, get answers, participate in discussions and communicate.

Society should oblige them to learn, because otherwise we cannot give the proper upbringing for the next generation, and this is our future. In another 20 years the children of today will become the commanders of orders, the creators, and founders, and what will be with them?

Today, a father and mother do everything that a child demands, closing their eyes to all of his mischief. For a society like this there is no future; we see what has grown from our children: depression, despair, drug addictions, and even violence.

So everything depends on the question: What do we want to have in another 20 years? Now we are laying down the foundations for all the children for their future lives. So how can we be indifferent to this? If we don’t aspire to the right education of the younger generation, creating a new person for a new world, nothing will come of it.

Long Way To The Temple, Part 4

Moses and the Receiving of the Torah

Babylonians who rejected Abraham’s methodology spread around the earth, to all countries. Abraham’s group left Babylon and went to the land of Canaan. Then, they descended to Egypt and then again returned to Canaan, which later became the land of Israel.

Abraham’s group underwent numerous troubles. The main mission of the group was to transfer the methodology of connection when the time comes to the Babylonians, i.e., to the entire world.

After Abraham, several generations of Kabbalists emerged: Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and finally Moses. They revealed the ways of the practical implementation of the methodology. Moses elevated Abraham’s group to a new level of unity called “the receiving of the Torah.”

They had to unite at a higher level to reach a “mountain of hatred,” Mount Sinai, instead of the Tower of Babel. For that, they had to refer to a much more powerful force. Should they succeed, the methodology named “the Torah” would be disclosed to them.

The Torah is the wisdom of Kabbalah that pursues the Creator’s revelation to the creations in this world. The Torah discloses the connecting network that unites us with each other through benevolent relationships, warmth, and mutual affection. The main principle of the Torah, “love thy neighbor as thyself,” should lead us from loving the created beings to loving the Creator.

Moses disclosed the methodology to the people of Israel who went through Egyptian exile and gained tremendous egoism from being in the exile. Their selfishness reached a much higher degree than of those who were associated with the Tower of Babel. The Tower of Babel plus egoism accrued in Egypt transformed to Mount Sinai (hatred), thus they got a chance to work on Mount Sinai by improving connections between them.

After revealing the enormous system of nature, the people of Israel realized that their mission was to correct the reality and humanity including the Babylonians from whom they once ran away.

Correction happens in two steps: the first step is to elevate the people of Israel to the height at which they become one man with one heart. This work is called “forty years of wondering in the desert.”

After this phase, the people of Israel reach a state of such a great unity that building the type of connection called “the Temple” becomes possible. The Temple stands for the vessel of sanctity for the sake of bestowal and mutual love.

The vessel is called The Temple (the house of sanctity); divinity is bestowal and love. However, the people were unable to maintain a level this high for more than one instant; they immediately fell from this level.

The great love and unity they attained for one short moment collapsed. People split into hostile groups that confronted each other.

They continued to fall even lower until Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the Temple. This is not about ruining some building in Jerusalem; rather, it was about hostile egoistic forces that smashed unity among the people of Israel.

They reached a wonderful state of unity. Inside it they revealed the system of the higher governance that rules the entire universe. All of a sudden, the beautiful rounded structure started rotting, deteriorating and exploding. Big groups detached from the people of Israel: the Sadducees (Tzdokim), K’tzinim (nobility), and others.

As a result, unity collapsed. The Jews became strangers to each other as if they were already spread among other nations, as it is written in Megillat Esther. However, they remembered that they were united at some point in the history, but this fact vanished and wasn’t important to them anymore.

The situation worsened. Historic process, i.e., the system of the upper governance they were previously familiar with, didn’t let them stay at the same stage forever. The first man Adam, together with Kabbalists who followed him, discovered that the world has to reach unity again.

It is written in the Prophets: “Everybody will know Me; My house will become the House of Prayer for all nations. Everybody will unite. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb.” The world should attain unity and harmony that includes all these states. This level is called the Third Temple.

What Are You Living For?

Midrash Raba: the MA”N can even taste like meat. Therefore in order to justify the demand for meat the hoard began to mount the MA”N with different desecrations.

Some of them complained that it was true that the taste of theMA”N can be different but it looks the same all the time. There is no joy in having MA”N for breakfast, for lunch and for dinner.

Others complained that it is very difficult to live without any reserves and that they always worried whether they would have enough MA”N the next day and if not their families might starve. So why shouldn’t they be allowed to store MA”N.

The real reason for all their complaints was that only the great righteous could live happily on the MA”N alone.

This means that it is about what you are living for: is it for a corporeal cause or for a spiritual one? One has to fine tune the question here and not postpone it until his last day. A person has to decide what he lives for now; he has to see how he ends each day as if he has nothing else in life.

The problem is that a person shouldn’t think about tomorrow’s supply, but live the moment in the good sense of the word, which means that he gives everything he has now and lets it go. Then he will surely advance correctly! In other words, if he invests, he invests all the way. Otherwise he doesn’t raise MA”N.

Question: Does this mean that he doesn’t count on the fact that when he works for spirituality now he leaves something for tomorrow?

Answer: Unfortunately not everyone has the power to do so. After all, we see how difficult this is. But gradually the Light comes in portions and does correct us.

Then there is a state in which you can tear yourself from your body without leaving it anything; tear it and make other calculations, but this is the result of the Light’s work. Every penny simply adds up to an account that brings you closer to spirituality.

Comment: Unfortunately we don’t see how all the pennies fall into the money box and bring us closer to spirituality.

Answer: We don’t need to see it since otherwise we will be like the hoard. This is the reason that our work is called above reason.

Time Of Judgment

The period of time between the 17^th of Tammuz and Tisha B’Av(the 9^th of Av) is considered to be the most difficult period of the year. There is no mysticism about this. There are simply “forces of judgment” and “forces of mercy” in nature. These three weeks untilTisha B’Av, which are called “The Three Weeks” are a time in which the forces of judgment are particularly at work.

These are forces that place before us particularly great demands for correction, clarification, and introspection. But since we are not ready for this and are unable to transform these forces of judgment into forces of kindness and mercy, we feel particular pressure at this time, many problems and all kinds of punishments.

Question: There are people who are afraid to go to the sea with their children at this time. Is this fear justified?

Answer: There are pleasant, good, and desirable periods, and there are unpleasant, bad, and undesirable periods. The best time is Purim. This is the symbol of the completion of correction, which is called the “coming of the Messiah.” However, when we correct ourselves, the unpleasant and bad three weeks before Tisha B’Av become the most successful period.

Tisha B’Av is considered to have been the worst day for Jews throughout all of history because on specifically this day the First and Second Temples were destroyed, the Jews were expelled from Spain, and a multitude of other disasters happened, and in spite of all this, we can transform this day into the best day.

Question: Couldn’t it be that this is simply a self-fulfilling prophecy because we expect their unpleasantness?

Answer: It is not a self-fulfilling prophecy. This is talking about the activity of forces that existed even before the appearance of humans on the face of the earth.

These forces prepare themselves for such activity, even in the upper worlds, that later becomes materialized in our world, the lowest and worst of all the worlds. The forces of judgment and forces of mercy were created in nature from the start. These are the left and right lines, and the person is in the middle. If we can tilt the world in the direction of compassion and kindness, then we correct all these bad forces, all the judgments, all the unpleasant situations, into good situations.

But this is possible only on condition that we connect and unite. Otherwise, we have no possibility of doing this. So, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” is considered to be the general and essential law of the Torah, which includes within it all of our corrections, all of the actions that we must carry out in this world.

We cannot only stop the forces of judgment, but also transform their action into something good. They will become forces of good, much better than those forces that now seem to us as good that spoil and pamper us.

Nature is preparing terrible disasters for us for the next ten years. This summer Europe has been damaged by terrible heat that reached 50 degrees centigrade. At the same time, scientists predict a decrease in solar activity and the arrival of a new ice age.

If man himself corrects the forces of judgment and transforms them to good, he can use them to direct their action, with the help of all of humanity to correct all of humanity, the entire world, ranging from relationships between people to the climate, all natural disasters: typhoons, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and more.

Two Rules For Advancing In The Desert

The Torah, Numbers 10:33-34: They traveled a distance of three days from the mountain of the Lord, and the Ark of the Lord’s covenant traveled three days ahead of them to seek for them a place to settle. The cloud of the Lord was above them by day, when they traveled from the camp.

Question: What is the meaning of a place in spirituality?

Answer: A place in spirituality refers to a desire. Advancing in the desert toward the land of Israel symbolizes the ascent of Malchut to the level of Bina. This is the reason that a choice has to be made between different combinations of Malchut and Bina that will lead us to correction in the best possible way.

We act according to a maximizing formula. I must choose one option of all the options that I have by which I will not be able to miss any of my desires and will be able to correct all of them. If I correct only some of them and advance while some remain below, I will not be able to advance.

This is the reason that the advancement in the desert depends on two criteria: The first is moving only in the direction of increasingly greater bestowal, and the second is maximum incorporation of all the desires in this movement. This means that, if I move from one side to the other, I must make sure that all of my desires move in that direction.

Everything depends on the vector that I choose. If I am in a state where I don’t know where I am and where I should go, it means that I must move only in the direction of yearning for bestowal with all of my attributes. There shouldn’t be any attribute left that wasn’t served.

It says, “…the Ark of the Lord’s covenant traveled three days ahead of them…” This refers to the spearhead that advances with his eyes closed, being totally connected to the Creator, feeling which way to go by a sixth sense, realizing that this is the only way it can advance toward a more purified attribute.

He doesn’t leave any of his attributes behind, feeling connected to each of them, but they don’t pull him backward and he doesn’t pull them forward. The result is a balance as they help each other and don’t interfere with one another.

The movement forward must include the whole soul with all of its attributes! One step forward takes into account the studying of all the attributes, the review of all the options, so that none of them remains below, even if it takes forty years. It is as Moses said in Egypt that we are leaving Egypt without leaving anything below the Parsa. It is the same thing here.

Question: Does this mean that everything a person was given, including the worst attributes and the most terrible character, help him reach the end of correction?

Answer: Absolutely! It was created by the Light and has become opposite to it so that a person knowingly will invert everything back to its origin.

The Creator has created everything, including the most terrible people so that later they will be corrected and reach the highest point of the spiritual world, thus ascending above all of the righteous.

Names As Symbols Of Connecting Properties

The Torah “Numbers” 10:29 – 10:32: Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’s father-in-law, We are traveling to the place about which the Lord said, I will give it to you. Come with us and we will be good to you, for the Lord has spoken of good fortune for Israel. He said to him, I won’t go, for I will go to my land and my birthplace. He said, Please don’t leave us, for because you are familiar with our encampments in the desert and you will be our guide. And if you go with us, then we will bestow on you the good which God grants us.

Comment: Even before the exodus from Egypt, Moshe’s father-in-law Jethro came with his selfish wisdom to his son-in-law and told him how to best organize the people. The same is said about Hobab: “You know encampments in the wilderness.”

Answer: Each time, we bring up new properties out of our selfish desires in order to correct them. They are necessary for our advancement.

Just as Jethro, Hobab the Midianite represents our egoism, which we constantly have to address in order to correct; otherwise we won’t be able to move ahead.

However, it is said that he “returns to his homeland,” meaning that we take from our selfishness only what is necessary, but give it a different name since it already is a different property, the one that is coupled with altruism.

The same property flows from Jethro to Hobab. In fact, the Torah lists not too many basic names of various properties. When moving from level to level the properties mixes together, thus forming transitional “structures” suitable for correction. Therefore, there appear a greater number of names.

The same is observed in the wisdom of Kabbalah. It describes only five Sefirot, five parts and five lights. However, when we disclose them, they produce multiple additional names and definitions.

The “Great Commentary” says: “Jethro was among the children of Israel, Moses’s father-in-law, who after his conversion to Judaism got a new name—Hobab.”

It means that a part of the property named “Jethro” went through correction, and the other part returned to Klipa (impurity, selfishness).

Further, the “Great Commentary” states: “After Jethro heard that the people returned to the land of Israel, he told Moses that he would go back to his homeland in Midian.” Moshe tried to convince him to stay: “The Creator commanded us to love all Gers, but you deserve special love and kindness.”

Any selfish desire that wants to be corrected is called a “Ger.”

Ger also refers to anyone, irrespective of one’s origin, who starts to use the wisdom of Kabbalah to reach the level of “love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Tisha B’Av, In A Vise Between Plus And Minus

Question: Why is Tisha B’Av (the 9^th of Av) considered to be the worst day of the year?

Answer: We are under the management of a system of forces that operates on us and influences us—sometimes in a good and comfortable way, and sometimes in a bad and unpleasant way—to awaken us and make it possible for us to integrate these forces correctly and reach the middle line.

If we balance these forces, we reach a state of absolute good. This is possible! The entire year will be a comfortable temperature of 25 degrees, and everything in life will be good, regarding any topic. The person is ready to balance all of the forces of nature in that he brings everything to balance.

On Tisha B’Av, the forces of judgment act with particularly strong intensity. However, essentially, they are not negative, but aspire to awaken us to reach balance, balancing all of nature.

Question: Are these forces stronger than a person?

Answer: Certainly, these forces are stronger than a person. They force him to carry out what is required of him. The forces of nature work on us and influence us to begin to change. We see what a mess is happening in the world. The world is withdrawing and gradually slipping lower and lower, but this awakens us to action.

Specifically now, there are opportunities to reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah to everyone and show that it makes it possible to arrange our lives, because everything is in our hands. Let’s calm down, look at things rationally, and all of us together will decide how it is up to us to bring our lives into balance.

The forces of judgment only seem to us as bad temporarily, depending on how we are feeling, but essentially there is nothing better than them after all they push us toward correction.

It is possible to reach balance only with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah. We don’t have the power for it ourselves. We must get an additional, unique power from above, above our nature, the power of bestowal, love and union. This power can balance the positive and negative forces, the plus and the minus.

All technological advancement is built on this. Every engine works because we know how to connect plus and minus correctly so that the positive and negative forces will activate it and require it to do useful work for us.

We exist in nature in which positive and negative forces are operating. However, the entire problem is that, in the middle, we don’t know how to use the plus and minus correctly and transform it into a mechanism that acts on the difference between the potentials in the best way for our benefit.

This is specifically what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us: how to use the two opposing forces that exist in nature correctly.

These forces are called the evil inclination and the good inclination, hatred and love. It is not necessary to annihilate anything! If we integrate these two forces correctly and use them correctly, we will get wonderful results.

However, a unique wisdom is required for this, because in normal life we don’t know how to balance plus and minus. We either love or hate, whereas we need to integrate both this and that by using the internal forces of a person, our attitudes, to rise above these two forces, above love and hatred. Then we can manage them and balance all of our lives through them.

Imagine that we do something like this in a family, with the children, at work, with friends, even just in the framework of our small physical world—how much happier would we become. Love and hatred must exist together and balance each other.

There is nothing superfluous in the world. Rather, it is only necessary to balance these forces. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us.

Autism: A Sign Of A Transitional Period To A New Reality

Question: Why has the number of autistic children, living in their closed world, increased by 50 times in the past 30 years?

Answer: I think that this trend will be maintained and grow.

Autistic people are those who already are required to have theperception of the next reality. They can feel a few realities simultaneously, a few levels of humanity.

We are now in a qualitatively new stage of human development. We see that we have lost connection with this world. We cannot be found within it. It frightens us. It is shaken up all the time, and we have lost our previously precise forms of mutual cooperation with it. I consider autistic people to have more of an inclination to perceive the next picture of the world than others.

They are more developed. If we were to take a modern person and compare him with uncivilized people who lived several thousand years ago, he would seem strange also, washing his hands, brushing his teeth, saying hello and goodbye to everyone and so forth.

So, the appearance of such a number of autistic children is a clear sign of a transitional period. We must simply understand from where all this is derived.

It is connected to the general ecological system, but there is no need to search for a cause since the entire system of the world—all of its levels, still, vegetative, animate and human—are moving in parallel, and the fact that the number of autistic children has grown in the past 30 years by 50 times shows that we are going with giant steps toward the next stage of humanity.

I think that we simply need to accept this view, at least as an addition, and from there begin to discern these changes as practical, as imperative for humanity.

In other words, it is necessary to consider autism not as a disease that must be healed and not suppress autistic people with the help of drugs and make them into supposedly normal people. On the contrary, we must study them, use their characteristics to understand that in them the coming state of humanity is revealed somewhat.
