What Is My Calling?

 

Question: According to research, there are four main forces that enable a person to determine what they are talented for.

First: a positive state. A person experiences strong positive emotions from an action performed with his inner talent. Second: feedback from the environment, external recognition. That is, if a person does something well, then the environment reacts to it and shows him that he will succeed in it. Third: the will of another person or a teacher who is able to evaluate a person and say that he will be talented at this. Fourth: analysis of the results. A person himself, or with the help of others, analyzes his actions and determines that he is more successful in a certain area.

How do I know what my calling is?

Answer: What you are drawn to the most. There is no need for all those clever definitions listed above. Pay attention to what you want and not what you are forced to do.

As a child, my parents wanted very much to make a musician out of me and forced me to study music. I did everything but that. In the end, nothing came out of it. I grew up a normal person, I think not worse than others.

That is why, there is no need to chase after anything, you just simply have to understand what you have inclinations for, what you can do so that life will give you pleasure and you will give pleasure to others.

Question: Do you think that in this way one can come to understand one’s purpose?

Answer: Yes. When you think about how you can be useful to others, but eventually do what you like, then from these two combinations, you can find yourself.

Question: And how to sort out the huge number of influences from others?

Answer: Do not listen to anyone! No one knows you and no one can give you any advice. Think about what you would like to do, what is closer to you, and how you can give pleasure to others with your profession or craft. And you will be happy.

Hollywood Is Changing The Rules

 

Comment: The American film academy has decided that as of 2025 movies that are nominated for the Oscar under the category of the best motion picture will have to meet certain requirements with regard to race, ethnicity, and gender.

The academy has set four standards, one of which is that the leading characters will have to be representatives of an ethnic group or a minority group and 30% of all the actors in secondary roles and other roles also have to be from the same category. What is more, members of the same category also have to be members of management, and so on, and only films that will meet these criteria will be eligible for an Oscar.

My Response: And if the crew in the film is all like that, from the top of the Academy to the janitor, then the film will not work? If all are played by African Americans, Asians and one hapless white man who sweeps the floor. Will it fail?

Question: It turns out that such a film will not meet the criteria because it does not meet the requirements. How do you relate to such things?

Answer: It is insanity.

Question: According to what assumption should the members of the academy work? Today they assume that everyone should be seen and that no one should be forgotten.

Answer: No, we need to demand that movie directors and producers make good realistic films that should touch people. They should not choose the actors because they are white, black, red, etc.

There should be such movies that we will not even notice the actors’ skin color. The world of motion pictures should be a world that does not take a person’s skin color into account, or you may choose an actor not according to his skin color, not because it is the main thing, but because this actor can play the role better. You shouldn’t speak about skin color first. You relate to his spiritual level or to the level of his acting.

If that’s the case, there will be regression and directors will certainly begin to compete between them.

Comment: Producers will surely meet these criteria in order to receive subsidies so that the film will succeed in the Oscars.

My Response: When they apply to the academy, it should not be that I have a certain number of white actors and a certain number of black actors, and a certain number of redheads, and so on.

Question: So what principles should be followed so that a movie can win the Oscar?

Answer: I would give an Oscar only a year after the movie has been released, for example, and then have a global vote, since such a form of art should be understood by everyone.

Question: Should there be certain rules as to which movie can win an Oscar? What should be special about it?

Answer: It should just not lead a person to perform some act of violence as a result of watching this movie.

Question: Do you mean that there should be no violence in movies?

Answer: Perhaps there should be, since it can be just the opposite, when a person sees acts of violence, he may feel repulsed by it. But just so that it doesn’t drive a person to such actions.

Question: What message should a movie convey?

Answer: It should convey a humane message only.

Question: What do you mean by that?

Answer: A movie that calls for connection between people, that everyone is equal, to ascend above any differences, and also against any racist views.

Do you want there to be order? We need education, and Hollywood is not education.

Out Of Turn

 

Question: Does it help to ask the Creator to awaken more points in the heart and to bring them to the group?

Answer: If you ask the Creator for the correction of the world, you advance without having to stand in line, out of turn. You have the privilege to turn to Him, because you are asking for others.

Then the light that comes to them as a result of your request for correction will pass through you and will fill you with unlimited pleasure. But if you think about this now, you will not advance by even one millimeter.

Synergy Effect

 

Comment: The synergy effect occurs when people are united into an integral group and as a result the intellectual energy between them increases.

In Kabbalah it is also said that if a person is included in a group of ten people, he receives a power that is not ten times greater but a thousand of times greater.

My Response: Of course, since at the same time he begins to attract the upper energy.

If one annuls oneself and puts oneself in line with the upper source, then he no longer receives an egoistic reaction from the group but an altruistic reaction from the upper source. He succeeds because of this.

Effect Of Conformism

 

Question: The effect of conformism is quite common in collectives where a person obeys the opinion of the majority. How can this effect be used in integral education courses for people who want to somehow get closer to each other in order to achieve a higher purpose?

Answer: I personally never use this effect. I only explain it to a person so that he can use it himself. I do not impose on him any goals or means to achieve them. I only give him a tool in his hand. If he wants to, I let him develop for himself the importance of the goal and the importance of the environment, and then go forward.

I do not manipulate either a person or his group. I let him choose what to do out of his own freewill.

“Where Is China Running, And Why?” (Linkedin)

Lately, it seems as though China is running at full speed in every direction simultaneously. In the past few weeks alone, it landed a probe on the moon, manufactured and is ready to ship millions of vaccines, beating Pfizer and Moderna, confronted Australia over control of the South China Sea, and reported that it is building a huge aircraft carrier, the kind that can be a game changer in the global arena. In addition, it is in constant conflict with the US over alleged attempts to intercept information, and Steven Myers and Keith Bradsher of The New York Times report that “China’s leader, Xi Jinping, is pursuing a strategy to make the country’s economy more self-sufficient, while making other places more dependent on it than ever.”

What’s the rush? Why is it suddenly so important for China to take over the world? Well, we could offer various political, social, and economic reasons why China is striving to shift from being a regional power and an economic superpower into being a military superpower with clout in regions far beyond its region. However, there is a simpler and truer reason: It’s China’s time.

Just as every newborn baby grows into a child, and then into an adult, so do countries. China has grown up, and like all grownups, it wants power and wealth. After millennia of isolation, China has emerged in the previous century like a sleeping giant that has just awakened. Now it is wide awake and wants its share, its respect, and its say in the world.

However, unlike other countries that have woken up, I don’t see China as posing an immediate danger. It doesn’t mean that it could not develop into one, but I don’t see an immediate threat coming from China.

Moreover, humanity is currently going through an unprecedented crisis of disintegration of human society and human civilization. It has been developing for years, but Covid-19 has exacerbated and accelerated the crisis to the point that countries cannot keep up with people’s disillusionment with authorities, capitalism, consumerism, the endless competition, soaring depression rates, and general dissatisfaction with life that has pervaded every family. The recent American presidential election is only a demonstration of things to come in many more countries around the world in the very near future.

Therefore, humanity’s most urgent problem is not China, but people’s disconnection from each other. China absorbed the achievements and ailments that humanity has accumulated over eons within just a few decades. If humanity will now restore human connections and rebuild the broken society that the West has become, China will absorb it, too, and will naturally change course from building aircraft carriers to something far less menacing and more embracing.

China has a very good relationship with Israel, and I see it as a great opportunity. Since setting an example of unity is Israel’s primary goal and primary role in the world, if we achieve internal unity, our good relations with the Chinese people will help them follow suit.

Just as currently, numerous countries come to Israel to buy new technologies and implement them in their countries, and recently including even Arab countries, if we develop unity, countries will be even happier to implement it in their countries. In the current trajectory of the world, unity will very soon become the most required commodity.

For this reason, I see China’s astonishing rise as yet another sign that we, Israel, must hurry and unite, so we can be a model of the most required commodity, and so that all the power that is now created in the People’s Republic of China will not go in the wrong direction.

In Whom The Creator Is Revealed

 

Question: It is written in Baal HaSulam’s article “The Last Generation“: “The voice of the people is the voice of the Almighty.” Why is the Creator revealed precisely within the people? What kind of people are we talking about? How does this relate to the wisdom of the crowd, and is it related at all?

Answer: The Creator is revealed in His people, that is, in a group of people who reach or wish to reach a connection with Him by being like Him. His qualities are revealed in people who want to be like Him. And not in others.

Social Media As A Business Model

 

Question: The main task of social networks is to glue a person to a TV or computer screen in order to sell something to him, although they were originally built to improve communication between people.

Do you think it is possible to change such a virtual environment? In whose hands should the power over people be? What should they watch? What should they read? What should they sell? After all, everything is determined for you.

Answer: Naturally, everything is determined for me. Nobody asks me. In short, a special body should be created that we can trust and that will manage our education and upbringing. Only this body can declare, expand, reduce, change, and dictate what we should watch and listen to.

Question: And if it is in the hands of governments or private people, then nothing will work?

Answer: Governments do not exist as such. They are managed by all kinds of financial and political tycoons. If it should be in somebody’s hands, then certainly not in the hands of governments.
