Summary
Naturally we only want to receive and we give only when giving brings us pleasure. If I loved people the way I love my children, I could give to them and also enjoy my giving. When I cannot give the person I love what he needs, such love is painful.
Therefore, we are afraid of losing love since it is a source of pleasure for us, and without feeling loved a person feels that he doesn’t exist.
The human image in us is built from the sum of the impressions we have of other people, including our spouses, we are like one unit absorbing impressions from other people.
People usually cannot feel whole by themselves, meaning without a partner in life. This is the way nature made us. Our partner is supposed to complement us into an image of a whole human being, although today everything is disrupted.
In a perfect connection, a couple feels that although the world around them is in turmoil, they feel as one man in one heart. At the peak of our evolution as human beings we will feel love between us all, a perfect connection, and then we will feel theupper world.
