Kabbalah Course - Perception of Reality - Lesson 2 - Penetrating into Reality

In the revelation of true reality there are levels called 'worlds' The advancing in the research of reality is a true adventure Where is it possible to meet our forefather Abraham? All is sealed within man. Change is possible only through ascending to the root Will we be able to direct reality, to be in balance with it? In this method, the revelation of the true reality, there are degrees called worlds. Just as researchers can go deeper into the structure of matter using scientific measuring instruments, a microscope or a telescope, moving deeper in or further out to greater distances, so too do those researching reality, through the wisdom of Kabbalah, penetrate into the depths of matter, thought and reality. Those degrees of inquiry are called worlds. When elevating into those worlds there are many surprises to be found. I would say that advancing in the study of reality is a true adventure. The person begins to sense and to see his or her future and past, because it is suddenly discovered that there is no time, but that all of these things exist, and that the person virtually moves on the axis of time. The person finds that it is possible to go back or forward even beyond the state at which he or she is now, and that the entire reality, all the people around the person, live according to some pace of time while he or she can run, advance a few thousands of years or go back a few thousands of years in one year. That is why these people who can suddenly make those leaps in time are called prophets. It is not that they have some wild imagination, but that they have advanced a few levels ahead and they are in that reality which all humanity will experience in the future. So they tell us what they feel. They can also be good historians, by descending to states that we already were, reliving them and telling us about it. The books of Kabbalah are written in the same way. For example, Abraham went from here to there, he met such and such person, said this, and did that. How do I know? It is simple - the Kabbalist who studies, turns back on the axis of time, and reaches a state like that of Abraham to the same degree, and the same situation, and then tells us about all of reality; he is present in it, in all its details. He can actually take all of his impressions from that state and transfer them to us. Our problem is that we may not be able to understand it correctly since we are not experiencing the same adventure, exciting as it is. Besides being able to move on the axis of time, Kabbalists also reveal additional powers in reality. There is a reason why fairy tales have ghosts, demons and angels. All of these forces do exist, and a Kabbalist who investigates and penetrates nature begins to understand how these forces work. The Kabbalist becomes connected with them, tells us about them and uses them for his or her own personal development and for our general development. What I am trying to say is that even though penetrating reality is difficult, it takes the entire soul of a person, all of ourselves, and it fills us with everything possible. Then, a person who investigates reality reveals that which has to be attained, and the reasons why there are problems in each and every generation and situation. This means that it is not just a theoretical investigation or a pure science, but it is practical for that moment and state which the person is in. The wisdom of Kabbalah is intended to help the person. How is this so? By being able to see the future and the past, to know which properties the person had when he or she first emerged, or descended into this world many incarnations ago, and also what the path is that he or she must go through. From seeing both ends, the person already knows how to advance from one stage to the other. At every single detail he passes on the time axis, he can see which forces are acting on him, why he needs to get married now, with these specific children, and that everything is already sealed and determined, with there being no surprises. It all emerges from the Reshimot, as we call them, or genes, as scientists call them, which are our inner preparations. We see this through very simple things. Two orphans who were separated at a very young age suddenly find each other after 30 years, one living in Australia and one in Norway. It turns out that they both married women with similar names, named their children in the same way, have the same profession, and even their house has the same street number. It is really amazing. Why is this so? We do not know the reality in which we can tie together all of these occurrences. But why does this happen? Because we, with our attributes, determine what will happen to us. So it is whis every situation in life, as known in psychology. There are for example some people who always get set up by others, who always end up at a disadvantage, and there are others who are the opposite. This means that people create their destiny in a primitive and simple way. But once people get to know themselves and the forces acting on them, they become capable of pre-arranging all of these situations. They cannot escape fate completely, they have to go through certain states because they need to learn something in each state, and acquire something for the future goal, so that they will be ready to receive it. So when the person already knows what it is that he or she has to acquire in each state, in terms of knowledge, and experience, both bitter or sweet, then the person prepares him or herself for the changing reality. There is a very nice article by Baal Hasulam called "revelation and concealment" of the Creator's face. He writes that according to how much a person knows how to direct the general law of reality, from face to back, in both the good way and the bad, is the extent to which the person can completely see the world and what happens to him or her in an opposite manner. And here is where we come to the other side of the wisdom of Kabbalah. The fact is that it is not intended just for the knowledge of reality as a pure science, where we can discuss what is in those worlds. We can actually change the worlds, be above them, determine our own destiny each day and be elevated. And all of the things that happen to us and the forces that push us are only in order for us to reach the state where we will direct reality, be in the balanced state in each and every moment, and know what balance means.

Kabbalah Course - Perception of Reality - Lesson 4 - The Power of Thought

What is the need for a biological body? Nothing can change except the part in us which perceives reality. The speed of thoughts is infinite. The worlds, including this world, are concealments of our senses. Does it sometimes happen to you that you are in euphoria, and do not feel the limitations of the body? Question: Why did the Creator create the biological body, why didn't we remain at the level of souls? It seems to us that this body, this flesh, exists. It does not exist. It is only your perception that it exists. You have such senses that make you feel like it exists. If we look through the eyes of a dog, through its senses, or the senses of some other creature, it does not see us like we do, the way we see ourselves. A dog sees us as a sort of cloud of smells. It means that we have no body, and the fact that we perceive it this way is because we are made in such a manner that makes us perceive it so, but it does not really exist. Nothing exists besides the upper reality, the thought of creation to bestow upon His created beings, which includes us. Only in this do we really exist. The worlds, including this world, are a concealment of our senses. We are, even now, existing in the best and only state there is. Only we have a problem, a dimming of our senses, so that we are not feeling that state but only a lesser state. We must clean our senses, wake up, get up and feel the real state. Nothing changes except the perception of reality. This means that what actually changes in us is that part that perceives reality. Besides that there is nothing. Therefore, if you are thinking about changing something besides yourself you are in trouble. Nothing will help you, you will never change anything. You can see how much the world only suffers from this, accumulating bitter experiences as if in order to understand that this is not the way. We need to correct our senses. You will see a completely different picture when you are at the end of correction, in eternity and wholeness. I have no words to describe it. And this body - there is no body, and this world - there is no world; it is simply an imagination. Of course, it is hard to accept this, because you have not arrived at the other side, so you can not understand how this is possible. One hundred or two hundred years ago we never thought that such forces existed in nature, or that it was possible to see through a wall, but this is what is now happening. With our thoughts and desires, and with our mind, we can achieve anything. The speed of thoughts is infinite. Thoughts expand at an infinite speed. The power of thought can penetrate matter without limitations. We can reach complete control of reality. Gradually you will see that these concealments, these worlds, simply disappear. All becomes transparent and there is nothing but light that fills everything. Even those who have had near death experiences tell us that there is nothing. They still see themselves on the operating table, while they are actually already elevating and becoming included in the light. The fact that we are not in the upper reality even a little is a problem. That is why I said that until a person's eyes open, it is a problem, but after the person's eyes open he or she already knows what to do. So our problem is to achieve the opening of the eyes. You stop sensing your body, how does it happen? It happens sometimes that you almost do not feel your body; you are in some kind of euphoria, and nothing hurts; it is possible to feel something like that sometimes. If it is possible for one moment, it is possible always. According to the level of correction that you attain, you neutralize your body to the extent that you do not exist. You cross the border between life and death. You simply stop communicating with the body and it stops being an issue for you. Question: How can man reach a state where he controls his desires and thoughts, instead of them controlling him? Man cannot control anything. He cannot control feelings or thoughts. If he tries to control one thing, it comes at the expense of something else. A certain kind of water is healthier than drinking another kind. So I choose this kind over that one. This is called controlling one of my desires and replacing it with another. This is not control. Real control is when I reach the spiritual world, the upper world, at a level which is higher than my reality. I look at my reality from there and then I choose what is good; this is control. As much as we discover nature in all of our research, in all types of science, we only discover one thing; that everything acts according to pre-determined, absolute, decisive rules that never change, and that everything behaves according to cause and effect, and is arranged by formulas. So what are you going to change? What do you want to penetrate and determine? And with any kind of intelligence I also can not understand it; it is not possible. Tell me, at which level of human beings, namely thoughts, desires, hormones or genes, or through the laws of nuclear physics, or some other level, can we change anything? We only study how it exists. To change anything is only possible from the root, where the level of the causes for all the effects in this world is. You can only change things if you can be at that point. Why is everyone running for the government? Because from there you determine what will happen later in the playing field. So that is what we need to achieve. For a person in whom the point in the heart has opened, who feels some connection, an urge for a higher state, it is a sign that the person can reach a point where he or she is elected for government, and can change the situation. Thought has no velocity. Thought acts through infinite speed, zero time, and endless velocity. Why is this so? That is how each and every cell in our body functions. That is how a cell connects to all the other cells. Information passes between cells at an infinite speed. The same applies to all parts of our universe. The information expands at an infinite speed; otherwise there would not have been any laws. What are the laws that we discover? We discover the entire system, how it is constructed, and if it is moving. It is moving towards balance. We discover laws in relation to stars, planets and gases indicating that there is no coincidence; everything is related to everything else, and the system knows everything about itself. It is not that there was an explosion, and from that explosion everything arrives including information, which arrives at the other end within a certain number of years. It is not the speed of the light that comes from the explosion which is important. It is information which expands at an infinite speed, and has the biggest power, at an infinite frequency. This is also the case with our body. The one who reaches the level of thoughts, the level of intentions, is the ruler. Besides that there being structures such as the nervous system, there are people who can solve a complex mathematical problem in a second, which even the biggest and most powerful computer can not solve in hours. How does it happen? It is not that those people are so fast compared to the computer, but that they solve the problem not at the level of the nervous system, at the speed of ten meters per second, the speed of signals moving in the body, but at the level of thought. Thought and intention means that the speed is infinite. That is the reason for the results. When one acquires some knowledge in Kabbalah everything begins to be understood. I wish for you that you open your eyes to see the spiritual world, and from there begin to determine everything in this world.

Dr. Michael LaitmanAll our corporeal properties are related to the animate level of existence, but we have to build a human within ourselves, which means to become “similar to the Creator” (Adam) and exist in bestowal. Bestowal, however, can be realized only in the group, in love of friends, in order to attain the Creator. Through our relationships, we create a desire similar to the Creator: the place where the Creator is revealed.

Hence, all the personal qualities and capacities that are embodied by our corporeal form don’t have any relation to spirituality. In regard to spirituality, I work solely with the point in the heart and should disregard the rest of my “earthly” properties. I cannot succeed in my quest for the Creator through them for they are secondary, and I strive to work “above them,” always preferring bestowal to reception, “faith above reason.”

The essence is the point in the heart. I must connect it with the others, with the friends. So, now I have to make the correct decision and determine that I want to reach success not in the material world, but in the unity of the points in the heart. It is the place where the Creator will be revealed as soon as it becomes similar to the Creator in the very least.

I have to constantly ponder this question. Only this determines how successful my spiritual advancement is.

Hence, this point is regarded as the Beginning of Change (Rosh Hashanah). It is the decision which should always signify a new beginning.

As a matter of fact, the line of trajectory we are moving by consists of multiple points. A spiritual path is a sequence of dots, and each of them has a “nip,” a “gap” in motion between the previous and the following points. Thus they create a single spiritual trajectory line.

In order to continue moving along with the others, in the same direction, in each point of the trajectory, I have to be totally opposite to the previous and the future states of existence. Only then can we adhere to this line of trajectory.

Therefore, in each point, at each moment of my life, I must make up my mind for the Beginning of Change within me.

Uniting Through Unconditional Love

When you choose to love unconditionally, you are bringing the highest possible potential into every situation and heal generations of conflict..Simply by letting go and loving all involved including ourselves. It is the type of love our Creator has for us.

If we want to see the world change and become filled with love, peace and unity, we must first fill ourselves with those same qualities... then we MUST share them with every single individual around us.

Unconiditional love is loving no matter what race, creed or religious belief. We love unconditionally we look past all the individuals acts and love without judgement.

Unconditional love brings Peace, Unity and Light. Lighting our path to the Creator.

Sensing The Upper Roots Through Their Branches

The science of Kabbalah utilizes a special language called “the language of branches.” If in all our feelings, thoughts, and properties our intention remains “for our own sake,” we sense only the reality of this world. Even the words of the Torah signify to us something that is happening in this material world.

But if we keep the intention “for the sake of bestowal,” each word of the Torah naturally transforms within us into descriptions of spiritual roots and forces. It becomes clear to us that the Torah isn’t saying a word about material objects (like herd, Leah, Rachel, Jacob, and so on) or their physical actions. Rather, it is all about the forces (desires and the Light) with which we sense and interact.

We feel this very clearly without any doubts since the upper sensations and thoughts are much stronger than lower ones. That is why when we read the Torah it never occurs to us that it describes this material world. We perceive everything to the degree of our inner level of correction.

At this point in time, we sense only the lower material world. That is why everything we read or hear about triggers images of this world like sheep, a well, women, men, and various actions that we are familiar with and that are part of this world.

Our efforts while reading The Zohar have to include the following thoughts:

1. The Zohar talks exclusively about the measures of connection among us;

2. We aspire to differentiate between the spiritual forces (desires to bestow) within ourselves, which are named using the words of this world.

We have to imagine them and try to search for them as a little child who tries to grasp the rules of a new game that allows him to grow. By doing so, we rise from the branches of this reality to the roots of the Upper World. Step by step, we try to distinguish the Upper roots; these efforts develop us like children.

That’s why we don’t merely listen to the sound of the words while reading The Zohar.Rather, as Baal HaSulam writes in Introduction to the Study of thr Ten Sefirot, Item 155, “Although they do not understand what they are learning, through the yearning and the great desire to understand what they are learning, they awaken upon themselves the Lights that surround their souls.”

The effort we make brings us understanding and attracts the Light that Reforms which corrects us. Within our corrected desires we begin to understand and sense what The Zohar is telling us.
