No Empty Calls


Question: What is the “Creator?” I feel the force of the group revives me and connection with the teacher as the force vitalizing me, but I do not feel the Creator.
Answer: The Creator is the force that animates everything, thanks to which we exist. There is some force in nature that moves everything. Why do electrons spin in the atom? There is a driving force that is hidden even more than all these tiny elementary particles that make up the entire world. This force is the cause of your life.
Matter itself cannot act. It has no force however great a person may seem. Once they thought that a royal person had something special: blue blood, exceptional qualities. That is, some sort of sanctity was attributed to him, but it’s just an animal body of the same flesh and blood. It is possible that the body has a special spirit, but it is not given as a birthright. Everything is attained only through efforts.
Thus, we are not referring to matter itself, to some image. This world has nothing that would have the power to correct the world, to keep it in the correct form. A very deep inner force acts in this world that is beyond all matter, beyond the electrons and the smallest elementary particles. This is the force to which we turn.
We will feel it when we have a vessel for this, but, if we did not aim at this initially, all our actions would be futile. We must think about it to the best of our understanding, our feeling, and these efforts eventually will lead us to the feeling of the Creator; none of my explanations will help.
I explain just for you to make efforts to not forget that you need the Creator and cannot perform any action without Him. Let’s suppose that you are going to give a lecture, a workshop, and you want to succeed. People want to use this workshop to lower their taxes and scream about how bad they feel. You can stay with them only on the first floor, but you can go up to the second floor, which means intention, connection to the higher force that especially arranged everything, and it puts pressure on us, calling us to draw attention to it and come closer to it, to rise to the next level of development.
Then, you will be connected with a group practically and not just be inspired to give a nice lecture. It no longer would be empty calls to unity as the communists did. After all, Stalin also called the people to unite, and Hitler did that as well. They both were socialists. However, we must understand that we are not talking about unity as such but about creating the space for the revelation of the Creator!
This should be our sole and original intent. Otherwise, we will not succeed. We will continue a few more years that which will teach us failures like in Russia, Cuba, theKibbutzim, and all other places where they tried to achieve such unity. All these attempts ended in breakdown for one reason only: They were not made for the sake of the Creator. They were not successful only because of this.
That is why I keep repeating that bringing pleasure to the Creator is the cause of all of our actions and their result, and we should not forget about that in the middle. Only then will we succeed, and then we will see that all the previous failed attempts in all the other places were the preparation for our success. We will succeed due to failures because they prepared the ground for us.

Going Out To The Public Is A First Step Towards The Creator


Question: How can I be sure that I am developing? How can I verify that I am not standing in place and not found to be regressing?
Answer: My development is determined according to how much I am conscious of my dependence on the other, on the friends, on the teacher, on the learning, on the entire world, and on the Creator. On one hand, these means open me; on the other hand, I discover my implementation in them.
If everyday I feel more of a need for a group, for support, for the Creator, for the Light that Reforms, if I feel more dependent upon them, if I am weak, powerless, at a loss without them, this indicates I am advancing.
The spiritual path differs from the physical world in which, on the contrary, we judge advancement according to independence and a lack of dependence upon others. When a person develops spiritually, he feels more clearly how much he requires and depends on everyone.
I cannot be without the desires of the lower levels and without the help of the higher levels. So who am I? I am the one who builds the right relationship, expanding the connection with the general public and with the spiritual levels by way of the group. Without these two components I am nothing.
After all, I come to the group with my personal desire, and therefore, I am egoistic. This is enough for a start, yet a year goes by and what’s next? If I continue my path with my personal needs, then I will only get one thing: the exercise of the ego. Therefore I need to go out to the external society, to the general public, to the greater world, and attach the desires of the people to myself in order to bring good to them.
I want to bestow to them, even though in the meantime, it is egoistically. I am cloaked in someone’s need and this need brings me to a group; with it, I turn to the Creator, and only through this appeal do I get an answer. Now I am directed towards bestowal at least in some way, and this is thanks to my going out.
And conversely, if I don’t go out and am enclosed within a group, then I am working only with my personal egoistic desires, with no chance of success.
This is the reason that it is so important for us to “go out to the public.” The Kabbalists of previous generations could not do this because the appropriate conditions had not yet been created in the world. This was very painful for them, like it is for a mother who is incapable of nursing her infant.
Today, however, all the necessary conditions have been created and we must penetrate into the desires of the people in order to join with them to connect in a group. And then by means of this connection, we can raise their desires to the Creator.
Even though the needs of others don’t matter to my ego, in spite of it all, I want to help them, and I reach a group that is connected with this intention to bestow and together we raise our requests to the higher power, to a higher level. We need three levels here:
  • the world,
  • we, as a means for correction,
  • the Creator.
It is written about this: “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator are one.” This must be the intention that precedes action.
This intention may come from either the Creator or the creature. On the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate, it comes from the Creator and everything is found to be under His control. Yet we want that the intentions will come from us; we want to rise to the level of the “speaking.” Since this is called Adam (man), this is what forms and builds the intention. The intention itself is essentially the Adam in us.
So I form the intention, on the basis of those desires that I received from the “people,” from the people to whom I turned to for their correction (1). The Creator inserts these desires into them after sending them certain troubles. When I discover this (2), I take these troubles upon myself, and, in fact, here the aspiration for bestowal is already found. Now I have a desire that is equipped with a Masach (screen) and intention.
Even though, in the meantime, this is not true and is egoistic, yet together with this, the system gets its future spiritual form. This is because through my turning to people, I at least emulate bestowal and work with their desires and not mine.
I could never hold on to a screen and the Returning Light with my particular desires. This is because if I lack something, I remember the Creator only so that He will satisfy my needs. Yet now, when I am equipped with the desires of the other that don’t belong to my ego, I am truly ready to think about the Creator.
Thus, the foundations of the spiritual vessels (Kelim), desires, are laid in an egoistic appeal to the people with which I can to turn to the Creator with the request: “Help them!” This action teaches and brings me to a kind of spiritual image, and therefore in response, the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif) or the Light that Reforms arrives.
To do this, I connect with the group and we raise the “prayer of the many” to the Creator. Yes, it is still egoistic and entirely false because we are not yet corrected, but even in such an uncorrected request there is a grain of spiritual truth. Its nucleus is already correct.
After that, Surrounding Light arrives from the Creator by way of the group, but it doesn’t reach me directly. It is left in the group and this helps us to connect until our additional connection includes the outer circle within it and awakens the discovery of the Inner Light(Ohr Pinimi).

So the desire of the other is extremely important. It allows us to build the entire chain in the right form.
And after that, we receive the Light that Reforms, and with its help we are truly concerned about the others and their desires, and they are connected to us more and more as if they are ours, and they oblige us to be concerned about them more than about our personal needs.
Anyway, we are always working with the desire of the other. And therefore dissemination establishes the right arrangement for the entire process, shaping us as necessary. Without this we have no chance to succeed.

Comprehensive Unity


Question: How can we unite our groups of ten more tightly during the preparation for the convention?
Answer: I don’t think that we have to split into groups of ten during the preparation for the convention. We have to unite and to forget about the groups of ten during the preparation. This means that we should work in the groups of ten only when we have workshops but not the rest of the time.
When I read such questions, I fear that a strong connection in the groups of ten will divide you into groups of ten and not let you see others as your best and closest friends.
We have split into groups of ten only because it is easier to communicate more closely with one another in these groups and to feel the others more personally. But on the whole, we also have to be close to ourselves and to the friends all over the world.
If we could include all the friends around the world in these groups of ten we would do so. I would sit with Germans, French, and South Americans today and with Australians and North Americans tomorrow, etc.
I don’t think that we should unite more tightly in the group of ten, and if this is the case, we should constantly change them. Otherwise the result is egoistic unity: “I have grown used to them, we understand one another well.” What do we need this for? Moving forward is based on overcoming the general lack of understanding which you are trying to escape from.

For The First Time In 6000 Years


Question: What should we do if there are strong and very experienced friends in the group who used to be very active indissemination in the past but do not take part in it now? It is a very bad example. Should we just wait?
Answer: You can wait and you can also interest them in another type of dissemination.
After all, what is the problem? On the whole when a person comes to the group, he agrees to participate in everything. Then he begins to understand that it is actually about the ego. “Oh, I don’t want to.” I may shout: “Let’s break through the Machsom (barrier)!” But when the time comes to actually break through and go out to the general public, I get scared. This means that I no longer move forward.
One must be persistent. I understand that it doesn’t depend on a person and that he is given such a state, but on the whole, people should be asked to participate in what they can do best and where they can be more active. Otherwise they will not advance.
You cannot imagine the opportunities we have today. Going out to the masses is the practical fulfillment of the wisdom of Kabbalah for the first time in almost 6000 years of its existence. We are on the verge of the phase for which all of nature was created, all of creation.
What the Creator did with regard to all of His creation is now fulfilled by the creation itself; we have to fulfill this. Can you imagine what an opportunity this is?! But suddenly we throw our hands up and say: “It will pass somehow, it is difficult….” This is the lack of the importance and completely short-sighted.

A True Friend


Question: How can a person become a true friend in the group?
Answer: You can become a true friend in the group when you go on an attack together. Only then do you become a friend and demand the same from others. Then a true connection is formed like in afamily, such as when you take care of a child, which means taking care of a common problem that is external to you and through which you all connect. Then you can become a true friend in the group.

Contact With The Teacher


Question: What can be done if the group opinion is contrary to the opinion of the teacher? Which side should one choose?
Answer: We know that our small children don’t agree with us about many questions. Either they don’t agree because they are still small or because we didn’t explain everything to them sufficiently. This must be clarified.
But if you truly have a conflict with me and it is not imaginary, then you have a problem. Then you get absolutely nothing from me! And this says that you don’t have any possibility of advancing spiritually.
I suggest to people who don’t have contact with me, to leave us and search for another teacher, for time is running out, life is going on and coming to an end. That’s too bad. It could be that you will have another teacher with whom you can find contact and move forward. I say this for your own good. If there is no contact with me from your side, then you are not bringing any benefit to the entire movement of the world group.
There must be contact with the teacher as there should be with the Creator. Even contact with a friend must be as it should be with the Creator, because all this is connected together: group, teacher, and all the Kabbalists and transforms into being a single whole.

Variations On The Concept Of The Groups Of Ten


Question: Our group is composed of ten people and we consider ourselves to be a “group of ten.” Is it necessary to divide the group, do we need to change the composition of the “group of ten”?
Answer: If you are simply a “group of ten” and you don’t have more people, so there is no need to break it up; remain with this group of ten.
When I talk about mixing the groups of ten, I mean large groups, groups like in Kiev, Moscow, and St. Petersburg where there are large numbers of people who can be divided into groups of ten and can change all the time.
For example, our leading students, our most active friends, whom you see all the time, suddenly find themselves in a group of ten with those you never see on the screen. These people sit quietly, don’t stand out, some of them have difficulty speaking Hebrew. And surprisingly, our active students discover wonderful people among our “silent” students who are very active internally and not externally, so it is simply wonderful to work together with them in a group of ten! And after this, they tell me that they never thought, didn’t feel, and didn’t know that we have such strong friends like these.
Therefore it is very important to mix, in completely different,opposite conditions, and combinations.
Suppose that ten people gather in order to solve some question together; through a discussion in the center of the group, they attain such a connection where each one goes “outside of himself,” and then the question is much better clarified because it becomes closer to the Creator. We begin to look at it this way, as the Creator looks at it, and from this we can solve this question.
With this, the role of the group of ten is finished. The next time, the group of ten will work identically.
Question: If we mix the group of ten, what do we do with the reading of the evening passage and the articles of association? Maybe it is necessary to leave the reading with the previous group of ten?
Answer: Now we are fully involved with the care of virtual education; we are going out to people both through the Internet and also directly. For us this is the most important thing!
Therefore all of your thoughts and reflections on mixing or preparation like this or in another way, all this is childish talk. When you begin to go out to the world and work with strangers, problems about this, questions about this, will arise for you; you will have a pressing need to be in a group of ten and to connect yourselves with the Creator, with me, with the whole group or the group of ten because otherwise you will not be able to do anything outside!
The audience with which you are beginning to come in contact will obligate you to find the correct contact between all the components: the Creator, yourselves, your group, me, the world group, and so on. But if you don’t go out to the people, then no need like this will appear within you. Therefore all of your theories regarding the groups of ten, in what manner to mix them, seem irrelevant, lacking any serious healthy basis.

Start Working With People!


Question: How is it possible to see the uniqueness of the Creator in everything that is around us more sharply and prominently?
Answer: The fact is that for years we have studied the theory and we have felt a little of the different inner changes within us, between us. But they were external, vague, they didn’t penetrate into our emotions and flesh.
Now, when we go out to disseminate on the outside, we begin seriously to grasp their influence upon us, our influence on the others, and with this, we prepare ourselves for a sharper and more real feeling of the Creator.
Listen to what our friends say about their impressions and excitement about dissemination; how before going out before any person, they need to prepare themselves internally in order to discover Him. This is most imperative! Otherwise, nothing will succeed for them. Here they feel that they need to connect with the group, they need to read some piece before they begin the work with another person, and they need to direct themselves in the right way.
Each one requires that the unity of the group will be within him, that the Creator will be in the unity of the group in order to coordinate all this within him, that this power of the Creator passes through the group and through him, that he will be able to direct this to the person, and he will immediately receive all that he wants to convey to him, even without words.
They see firsthand how this happens because all of us exchange energy between us. Our verbal communication is only external. In every circumstance within, in all of our structure, we become spiritual Kelim, vessels: my desire, the foreign desire, and the Light between us, which I can convey to another, to become a conductor of the Light. Therefore we are called “conduits,” pipes, for conducting the upper Light to all people.
If you sit in one place, nothing will come to you. Go out and start working with people, then you will see firsthand actively and sharply what happens.

Where Does The Creator Hide?


Question: I understand the importance of dissemination, but I cannot get over the psychological barrier. I feel uncomfortable standing in the streets, talking…
Answer: So, you lack the importance of dissemination, the greatness of the Creator, and the importance of that you now reveal the Creator. You do not feel that the Creator hides in the person in front of you.
This is done on purpose: The Creator, being in him, arouses a certain feeling of shame, embarrassment in you just for you to overcome your egoism. Once you overcome it, you will see that it’s all a play, theater. Try it and become convinced on the spot!

Animal Soul Or Spirit


Question: What is the animal soul? What is spirit?
Answer: The animal soul is the life-giving force that animates our bodies as well as the body of any other animal.
These are desires in which there is a small fraction of the Light that animates them. However, they need no screen, no restriction, no correspondence between the desire and the Light. Indeed, these desires are so microscopic that the Light can be in them in a very weak illumination. That is why matter exists.
The spirit is the same animal animating soul that exists in all the still, vegetative, and animate elements of creation. That is, it is still the desire and still the Light.
All people have desire, and the Light that supports this desire nourishes it a little and exists in it even contrary to the first restriction (Tzimtzum Aleph). This is the animal soul or spirit.

Delighting The Creator


Question: What does it mean to delight the Creator?
Answer: Delighting the Creator means to give Him a place to be revealed in His created beings.
Question: Can I assume that the intention to delight the Creator is the action that helps us to go outside to get rid of egoism and connect with others?
Answer: Yes. The intention to delight the Creator should be primary, and on this basis, we build all our other activities.

Unity Is The New Format Of Humanity


Question: What is disseminating the wisdom to the masses?
Answer: When a student comes to me, he wants to feel good. But he understands that good for him means attaining the meaning of life, what is above life. He wants to rise to the level where he can attain this meaning in his heart and mind.
For seven billion people the meaning of life is to ascend to the level of wealth, respect, domination, health, and knowledge, everything that is a filling for their desires. They try to do this in every possible way: religious, scientific, philosophical, psychological, technological, financial, and economic, but it leads to nothing and doesn’t work. This is what they call a crisis.
For us, however, the crisis means birth. The word crisis has a double meaning: It means both a fall and the birth of something new, but the public doesn’t understand that.
After they totally despair of all their attempts, we can declare that we have the method for attaining what they want: health control, wealth, food, family, and love. They will have everything that they need in this life, an earthly Heaven. But in order to attain this they must unite.
They will begin to unite simply because they have no choice and they will do so gradually, in small circles without even noticing it. At the same time they will immediately begin to feel a positive outcome.
By uniting they will establish a totally different society, since the unity between them is the new format of humanity. A totally new civilization will emerge which is global, integral and analog. As a result of this unity, they will begin to feel the revelation of the integral force, which is what they seem to be creating.
In fact, they only yearn for the connection between them and this force is revealed as a result of their attempts to unite. It’s the same upper force that influences us, but they do it as a result of their own yearnings and we do it as a result of our yearnings. Therefore our collective work is more accurate and consists of ascents and descents, while for them there is no such thing, they simply advance.
They will feel a constant state of ascent, since they don’t have a left line or a right line. They will feel movements relative to this point, but they will constantly feel good. They will be drawn to us, since it will be clear to them that they will not be able to advance without regular workshops and the study of integral education, but by advancing, they will suddenly begin to see the light ahead instead of dark descents and destruction. This will continue until the end of correction.

The Ego Is Not A Disruption But A Means To Advance


Rav Kook, “The Purpose of Israel and Its Specificity”: The love of others is the most clarified feeling, and it is based on sensory perception. Indeed we should follow it and a person should prepare himself for this cause so as to be part of the life of others, and in this lies the whole point of individual morality.
Love of others is the rule that includes all of a person’s actions. In other words, he shouldn’t do anything if it doesn’t stem from the eruption and expansion of love. Otherwise, this action is not compatible with the Creator’s plan, and eventually it will lead to negative results. This is exactly how our initiatives are examined: If they are aimed at love of others, then it will work, and if not, then it will not work.
But how can we explain this to people? If they hear about it, they will say that they don’t need our preaching. They only want to live and enjoy life.
Still, we have to look for ways to reach their hearts, not in order to give them love, but in order to reach the love of the Creator. I will learn to love the Creator only if I learn to love the created beings first. I use the whole world only for the sake of the ultimate goal, which is love of the Creator.
What kind of love to the created beings is it if I just use them? Still, that’s the way it is. I really love them since only thanks to them do I reach the love of the Creator. The means becomes as important for me as the goal.
The great ego implies that I should rise above it since then I will attain something that is much bigger. It turns out that if we become greater egoists, we understand how to use our ego in a new more efficient way, and we don’t enjoy in it but above it. Then I will be like the Creator.
It is according to this healthy approach, without any illusions that I intend to use all of creation, including the Creator, since I will not continue to advance if I don’t reach the level of Pharaoh. I have to feel and to experience everything, but together with the right clarification, without vague illusions. I advance accurately without diverting from the goal.
It says: “A judge only has what his eye can see.” I approach every roadblock with the package of my attributes and I usually don’t have to get rid of it. I have nothing but the ego, and it evokes me to join the group, to annul before the friends, to be incorporated in them, to advance towards the Creator and to turn to the public. All these steps stem from my ego. Suddenly I understand that from now on I have to use it differently, not from the inside but above it.
How can we attain this? How can you benefit from the ego? We can do so with the help of the Surrounding Light. It will influence me and will give me a chance to rise above the ego. I don’t want it to limit me, since I already understand that I cannot perceive much in it. It only offers this world only, but I want more than that…
When I look at myself now, I see an animal that enjoys food, sex,[                                                                                             family, comfort, tranquility, money, respect and knowledge. But above the animal level, I ask myself if I should rise a bit more. Then I receive a method that enables me to rise. Thus the greater ego evokes me more than all the other previous desires, and I advance above them.
This is the only way to grow without neutralizing my ego but by using it wisely. The whole course of development is aimed at turning us into greater egoists, but wise and not primitive ones. Other people are ready to settle for little. Give a person a million dollars in order to solve all his problems and he will feel satisfied and well off. But I don’t settle for that; I have to control the worlds. I am Pharaoh who declares "Who is the Lord that I should listen to Him? No, I will rule in His place!" This is the ego I will discover in me if I don’t stop on the way.
But this truth is revealed only to people who have the point in the heart, who have a spiritual potential; "This secret is revealed to them bit by bit."
Question: How can I avoid making mistakes and not sink into the ego over my head? How can I know that I am on the right course?
Answer: If you are connected to us then you advance correctly. You can be sure only if you are in the right environment and want to be there; there is no other way.
The problem is not in feeling weak and lacking the understanding, but when a person adds other methods. A person is not a hindrance to himself, but if he begins to catch external "viruses," he will not succeed.

When In Doubt…


Question: What should we do with the doubts that we often feel that everything that we engage in is only a false illusion?
Answer: Everyone has such doubts on every level. Even if you are a great Kabbalist you still have such doubts and even greater ones.
You feel them between the levels, in the transition between one state and another. This period is always designed in you by the Creator so that you will clarify it internally.
It is impossible to attain an external revelation before you discover that you are totally dependent; that you don’t understand anything, that you don’t know anything and don’t believe in anything, don’t feel anything and you should feel an emptiness in which you can later feel the filling. This will be a revelation; the emptiness is revealed this way at the moment.
It will not be revealed in the form of doubt since you don’t even see this world and what the wisdom of Kabbalah offers you in a practical perspective. So as a result of everything that happens, it offers you the only solution. What is more, it is absolutely logical, strong, and rational since there is nothing else in our world, even if you look at everything with the wide-open, mature, normal eyes of a scientist, a businessman, or an ordinary person.
They can say: “Yes, but I want to deal with my own business.” If you want to, then do so! Everyone plays with his own toys. On the whole, if we speak about the fact that we can change ourselves and our world and build a different society (I am referring to different conditions, types, and styles of corporeal living), then it is possible to fulfill it only by the method the wisdom of Kabbalah offers. It is impossible to offer anything else now. If before there were many theories and many ideas, they are all passé now. As of today nothing makes sense or is rational anymore.
I follow the media and current scientific thinking, if there is such a thing today, I don’t see anything. Humanity is becoming so empty that there is no one to argue with. People don’t want to clarify this, and that is their business.
The only problem is how to change ourselves in order to change the world, our perception. The world is only a subjective personal feeling. The question is whether the force that can change us really exists?
Everyone agrees that the ego is harmful, that we should get rid of it, and that it destroys us. There are many conferences and international forums on this issue, but no one takes it seriously since it is considered human nature, which cannot be changed.
We, however, say that it is possible! In this same nature there is an upper force that is above our ego, which has created the ego, the desire for one’s self, and which can change it to a desire for the sake of others.
This transformation can take place in us only if we want it. But how can I want it?! It turns out that I have to pull myself out from the swamp I am in by the hair. It is indeed so to some extent, but not totally, since if I connect to the other friends in the group, we can help one another and thus take all of us out together; it is possible. If we pull one another out by the hair, the most important thing for me is to think about the friends and about how I should pull them out and that they should think about me. Thus everyone thinks about the others.
By annulling myself and connecting to others, we summon an extra force. We don’t even know where it comes from, but we suddenly begin to feel it. This force influences us and raises us, we begin to feel that there is something in nature which is above our ego and can change it, turn it into something else, and manage it.
The main thing is to wait for this state when all the circumstances around us will make us feel the need to unite. We see that many in the world already understand that by uniting we can solve any problem there is, which we cannot without connection.
So we can tell people about unity and connection in order to solve small concrete, ordinary daily problems, since even by solving these small corporeal problems, we will begin to feel the special quality of connection. Thus people will realize that we can also change our nature, our society, and even our world, which means our perception. It is all possible.
So the doubts that you feel are true. What’s important is not to drown in them but to constantly be above the doubts and to look for accurate scientific explanations so that we will be able to connect these doubts in our mind and make the correct picture of the  questions and provide the answers for them; I am ready to take part in this.

The Clutch Pedal With Nature


Baal HaSulam, “The Peace:” Because the purpose is undoubtedly built over all the laws of nature, none excluded, … he who alters even a single law harms and damages the purposeful aim that the Creator has set, and will therefore be punished by nature. Hence, we, too, creatures of the Creator, must not pity him because he is desecrating the laws of nature and defiles the purpose of the Creator.
From here, it is clear to us that, if I see that someone is acting against the laws of nature, I must stop him, for we are found in one system, and, if a person goes against one of its laws, then, necessarily, he has a bad influence on all of nature and on everyone.
Generally, all of your actions must be accompanied by an understanding of what you are doing. This is because you are influencing a great collective mechanism, the mutual connection of a multitude of parts, integrally and globally. If you don’t know the laws of nature, this doesn’t mean that you still won’t cause damage.
Nature accepts your action as it is, and, if the intention is good or bad or there is a lack of intention, this is already superfluous. However, whatever it may be, from a materialistic point of view, we need to understand that we essentially are found in a closed system, and therefore, all of us depend upon each other. No one can feel himself to be free of an obligation not to harm the system.
After that, it is possible to continue. Am I also free to benefit the system? And, if you think about it, well, you are not. This is because, in a closed system, each has its place and function, and therefore, each is obliged not to harm the system and is obliged also to benefit it, and no one has free choice about this. Rather, to the contrary, all of us are obliged to be corrected parts within it, beneficial to the system.
However, among all the parts of the system, there is yet another mechanism called a “clutch.” The more that we are pressed together—soldered together into the general system—and to the degree of our mutual adherence, this “pedal” is gradually released more and more, raising the mutual dependence, and we are obliged to act accordingly, doing no harm and bringing benefit according to the “negative commandments” and the “positive commandments.”

The Gradual Implantation Of The Creator Into The Creature


When we rise from below to above on the spiritual ladder, I am renewed all the time. So in what way is my “second self” different from the “first self”? In that I perceive the Creator, my Maker, in all these levels?
The Gradual Implantation Of The Creator Into The Creature
In the previous level I was found under the influence of particular forces and also in the new level. Yet the difference between the levels is that in the previous level I had a “first Creator” and in the new level I have a “second Creator.” The ascent from level to level is in the perception of the Creator and not just that I perceive myself. I perceive myself in a more primitive form if I rise from below to above. Yet in addition to this, I perceive the Creator, I attach Him to me.
Which is to say, the “second creature” is different from the “first creature” in that he adds the Creator to himself, to his essence, and therefore he transforms into a great man, into an Adam relative to his previous state, he becomes more like the Creator.
It follows that spiritual attainment is not involved with the addition of greater feelings and intellect, rather it is qualitative. New Kelim are formed, desires are renewed and reorganized all the time.
From time to time the structure of the Creator penetrates more and more into the creature and organizes him according to His image. Because of this, we begin to think otherwise, to feel, to accept other decisions, we look at the world in a different way. Everything is changed within us. The substance seemingly is left unchanged, although it gets new information.
This is the ascent from below to above. The person is changed all the time, so that nothing of the previous state is left for him, not even memories. The desire for pleasure is left, yet it gets new complexity, division, structure, and organization. To this substance is added the structure of the Creator every time, meaning, the characteristic of bestowal andlove. The connection between all the parts causes changes and influences the structure itself.
It is possible to compare this to a computer that is rebuilt yet is not changed in itself too much. Only a little memory, processing speed, and clock signal frequency is added, yet apparently the hardware, the machine is left the same, only it becomes more sophisticated, complex, faster, and responsive, which is to say it becomes more sensitive. Inside, those zeros and ones still alternate, yet with a higher speed than before.
Within these zeros and ones a new program acts, a new connection that changes the quality of the substance completely. The program establishes everything and controls the substance. The machine itself, the “metal” is unimportant—what is important is the program that works inside. Our ascent from below to above involves a more sophisticated program.

Creating A Model Of The Upper World In Me


One of the sections of the Torah read on Sabbath is called “Truma” which means “donations” in Hebrew. This term has a completely different meaning in the spiritual work and it means the raising of the Creator.
This section describes how the Temple is built in great detail. It is because everything is built according to the form of the Sefirot that are the connections in the upper world, in the system that manages us and which is beyond the limits of our sensations.
The upper world penetrates through all of creation and so the Torah describes all the connections, the mutual relations, and its formulas. It isn’t just formulas but a network of formulas. It is very hard to convey this since there is no similar mathematical system in our world and we don’t deal with such problems. Only some of them are solved individually.
But when we deal with analog systems in which there are endless options of different connections that are closed to all, that everything is connected, then we are not able to do it. We cannot perceive such a network neither in our mind nor in our feelings and keep everything simultaneously. We have to be created that way internally in order to feel that there is the same system on the outside.
If there is no such model inside us then we can only “cut” it to pieces and perceive them as an integral: to take the pieces and to put them together. But it is merely a sum and not a whole. We cannot contain everything. Only to the extent that we are corrected, to the extent of similarity to this system, can we begin to reveal it. Otherwise it isn’t on the same level, and it goes through us, and we don’t even feel it.
So in building beams, a roof, and partitions that are described in the Torah, we refer to the building of the integral system inside a person.
It isn’t about building objects in our world, but about creating new attributes inside us. What does it mean when it says “And they shall make an ark of acacia-wood” or “And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee”? You will discover these attributes inside you (the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate nature), choose them in the most concrete manner and create an inner system out of them according to certain measures and drawings of what seems to be the external upper world, which you have to attain. If you create these conditions inside you will attain this system, and it will be called a “Temple.”
A Temple resembles a big tent in which many people gather in order to unite and to discover the upper force, the upper system, in the full absolute connection between them

Two People Is Also A “Group Of Ten”


Question: Why doesn’t the Creator hear us if we are less than ten?
Answer: This actually is not true. It isn’t about a group of ten that you can actually count, but about a finite fixed desire, which as a result of our connection actually becomes strong and real.
It makes no difference if 50 or 80 people participate in it. In spirituality the quantity is not taken into account, but only the quality. When I say that the lower level is ten times further away from the upper level, I refer to a qualitative measure and not a quantitative one.
On the whole, it says that the minimum of many is two, when each one can exit himself and rise above his ego and connect to another, so even two can be called “a group of ten.”
This is a conditional term. In our world we measure the quantity while in spirituality we measure the quality. But although we use the words of this world, we have to understand that here it refers to real changes.

Looking At The World From The 2nd Floor


The desires of the public are as if on the 1st floor, where there is a simple relationship between desire and fulfillment. And we need to be on the 2nd floor, where there is a relationship between the recipient and the giver; that is the intention.
I can go to a restaurant, pay the money and get pleasure in exchange. And I can come to visit a friend and pay no money. After all, I pay him by my attitude and he also brings me pleasure by his attitude. That is, we are already on the 2ndfloor.
The restaurant had only one floor; I got pleasure and compensated for it with money, gave pleasure at the same level, on the same floor. But it is not so with a friend: I received a treat from him, but did not pay for it with money and I enjoyed his relationship to me more than the treat itself.
On the 2nd floor, fulfillment is our relationships with each other. No matter what treat I received from you, just a cup of coffee, but your attitude towards me can be a billion times more valuable.
We bring pleasure to the Creator by what we do on the 2nd floor. I do not feel fulfillment on the 1st floor, it is just filling the stomach, and I do not care from whom I got it. The tools of the 2nd floor are personal relationships.
I feel the pain of others on the 1st floor; it is called to “empathize with the suffering of society.” But then I am rewarded with the “pleasure for the whole society.” And why am I doing this? To delight the Creator.
I go out to them as a restaurant owner to hungry visitors and say that I have the food they will receive. But I immediately begin to teach them and invite them to the 2nd floor. I am saying that we unite, create connection between us that will give us a special strength, with which we shall depend on no one, either on any government or on officials. We ourselves will put our world in order.
You cannot just say this to people at once; they will not believe. First, you have to make them feel that this is indeed possible at some workshop. And then we can say: ” Please note: Due to this force, which we now reveal between us, we can correct all of our life.”
We can get this force only by connecting with the group, the teacher, the books. Even on the 1st floor we cannot be successful without their help. We see that the world cannot cope without this. The world is abundant, but people cannot live a good life because they have no power of unity.
The force of their connection is negative because everyone wants to use everyone else. Therefore, half of the world throws away surplus food and half of the world is starving. This gap will grow day by day. After all, we need to understand that the reason is the bad connection between us that we cannot correct, but everything depends on it. And in the meantime, the split between us grows more and more.
The world has changed completely in 30-40 years—everyone is in conflict with each other. In Arab countries, first united by one idea, and now the the war broke out, are in strife and war with one another. After all, the higher management seeks to reveal clearly that we do not have the right connections between people, and that is the cause of all the evil in the world.
People already understand this. When you talk about this, they quickly agree. That is, perhaps a few sentences are enough to lead anyone to the conclusion that our good life depends on good relationship between us. But he immediately says that it is impossible to correct.
You should not argue here; you just have to invite him to a workshop so he will experience this himself and check whether it is possible or not. Not for nothing it is said that “There is none wiser than the experienced.”
