Super Glue To Adhere To The Creator

laitman_962.1If somebody interferes with me, then I should accept this as “help from the opposite,” which shows me where I have not yet cleaved to the Creator. Due to this interference, I get closer to the Creator, and therefore, I wish this person all the best, blessing for the bad as for the good. After all, it is due to these interferences that I have the opportunity to rise to the Creator each time. Without them, I would be unable to advance.
Therefore, on one hand, in corporeal life I must defend myself and fight against such interferences. But in essence, in my internal work, I fully accept them and thank for everything bad as good. It is such interferences that bring us correction, although they cost us a lot of effort, money, and time. The main thing is to relate to them correctly, that is, to launch a war against them in order to ask for adhesion with the Creator above them.
I understand that the Creator sent me these obstacles and I want to cleave to Him along with them. After all, my devotion to the Creator is verified by the force with which I cleave to Him. Let’s say, there is a load weighing 5 kg that I want to attach to the ceiling. To do this, I need glue that holds at least 5 kg and a little more, to be on the safe side. Therefore, I evaluate the strength of the glue by the weight of the load. If I stick the load and it falls, then the glue is weaker than the weight of the load; that is, my devotion to the Creator is less than the interference that He sent.
But if I ask the Creator to help me cleave to Him with a force greater than the interference and I cling to the ceiling with this whole problem, then I gain faith above reason, the force of adhesion, which is stronger than the interference felt within reason.
The glue I receive from the Creator is the light that comes to me at my request, the power of bestowal, Bina, with which I cling to the Creator in bestowal to Him. I want to cling to Him above this interference that pushes me away from Him so that all crimes will be covered by the love for the Creator.
But there is no righteous person who did not previously sin. We always fall, locking ourselves on the obstacle itself, on a person who is causing us problems or on the situations. We are never ready for an obstacle because each time it is new, a new Reshimo from the shattering is revealed. We are forced to fall and succumb to deception as if the problem did not come from the Creator. But already in the next moment, we need to return to the correct perception. This is called the “pinch of the devil”—a light pinch is enough to recover.
First, I cry out: “Ouch!” feeling the interference, and the second “Ouch!” already comes from the realization that this is not interference but the Creator who draws me to Himself. It all takes place in one go. The only answer to every obstacle is to cling to the Creator even more.1

“Are The Amazon Fires A Problem For The Entire Earth?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Are the Amazon fires a problem for the entire Earth?
We need to see the whole of nature as an integral system. That is, there is a current focus on the Amazon fires, but there is an entanglement of environmental problems including ocean and air pollution, ozone depletion, outbreaks of natural disasters from volcanic eruptions through to earthquakes and hurricanes, not mentioning many others, and they are all influenced by the person, who according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, is a small world.
Therefore, when we reach states where we become internally organized, i.e., when our attitudes to each other become balanced and positive, then we will also experience positive phenomena from the outside, i.e. from nature.
We do not cause environmental problems with our hands. We cause them with our lack of inner correction. By letting our divisive egoistic drives cause us to harm each other, we invite upon us a negative response from nature. Also, the more we develop without correcting our attitudes to each other, the more we will draw to ourselves increasingly severe reactions from nature.
The time has come for us to reach connection among all people as in an integral system. We witness mammoth-scale problems in nature, and we’re unaware of how we cause such phenomena from the point of our attitudes to each other.
Many people, world leaders among them, think that by implementing actions toward nature, like cleaning garbage from the oceans, lessening air pollution or reducing the use of fossil fuels, we will have some kind of positive impact on nature. However, it’s not the case. Politicians especially only use such pleasant rhetoric for the purpose of their own self-promotion.
Nothing we do outside of changing our attitudes to each other will help us. Moreover, the more efforts we apply to fix things externally without undergoing an inner change, the more harm we will bring about. Why? It is because the world would continue developing by not dealing with the cause of all these problems: that we need to correct ourselves by upgrading our attitudes to each other—from egoistic to altruistic, divided to connected, and self-centered benefit to benefiting the whole of humanity. By doing so, we will see a positive response back to us from nature.
The inner change of our attitudes to each other is what nature demands of us. Note that according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, “Nature” and “God” are synonymous (they share the same number in Gematria—the Kabbalistic number system). We need to become integral in our awareness, to understand the system we’re in, the need to resemble the system of nature, and adapt ourselves to it.
Through our adaptation to nature, nature would calm down and become balanced.
Complementarity and wholeness would abound on all of nature’s levels—still, vegetative, animate and human—and we would experience harmony and perfection as a result.

Uniqueness Of The Creator Part 9

laitman_563What Is the Influence of the Upper Light?
Question: In the article “Introduction to The Study of the Ten Sefirot,” item 155, Baal HaSulam describes how the upper light works. He says that Kabbalists obligated each person to study the wisdom of Kabbalah only in order to attract upon ourselves this light that changes us.
What is the influence of the light? How can I feel this transformation on myself and into whom can I turn?
Answer: You can feel the influence of the light on yourself, in your personal changes and personal qualities, such as desires, intentions, qualities, in the more clearly depicted purpose of development.
Question: Am I becoming more moral?
Answer: Maybe not. However, you increasingly understand what is going on. You might not yet be changing, but if you are studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, the upper light is already affecting you and preparing you to want change.
Question: Does it mean that the upper light is not the Creator yet? There is the Creator and there is the upper light, right?
Answer: No, there is only one force, but we call it different names according to the way it manifests itself. We call the upper intention “the Creator,” and we call His influence upon us “the light.”

New #Life 1141 – Education For Peace

New #Life 1141 – Education for Peace
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz
Shalom, the word for “peace” in Hebrew, derives from the Hebrew word for perfection, “Shlemut.” The way to achieve perfection in life is through peace, i.e. through the reconciliation of opposites. Reconciliation happens through the transcendence above opinions without discussing who is right; two give birth to a new, third thing. Education for peace is education for transcending the egoistic nature by inviting, drawing a positive force from nature. The method for doing this is group work with special exercises.

An Opportunity To Ask The Creator For Help

laitman_962.7The wisdom of Kabbalah differs from simple popular blind faith in that it speaks of working during descents, distancing and rejections from the Creator through all kinds of events in our life.We seem to be ready to say that “There is none else besides Him.” After all, it is right and good that there is just one force that creates everything and controls everything. However, we forget about this as soon as we feel rejection from this force, when we receive all kinds of problems that are supposedly unfair.
In addition, it turns out that they were planned by the Creator for each of us in advance, even from the beginning of creation, because everything is predetermined until the end of correction. Therefore, our life is a film that we need to add 620 times more to through our efforts and precisely during the time of distancing.
The main work is during the descent. The Creator burdens our path by sending all sorts of troubles, problems, and concealments, placing barriers before us. But we know how to overcome all this, and not for the sake of winning like heroes jumping over all the obstacles. Overcoming means relating all the disturbances and burdening of the heart to the Creator and not asking to cancel them. Disturbances are those degrees that we must climb.
Every time a desire to receive grows, a problem appears as an invitation from the Creator to ascend and determine His uniqueness on the higher degree. Therefore, we live from problem to problem, from disappointment to disappointment, from fear to awe. But it is in this that we must see the benevolence of the Creator, who does not leave us, moving us forward.
This happens to all the people of Israel in general and to every single person advancing to one’s completely corrected state. It is during the descents that we have the opportunity to ask the Creator for help. It turns out that descents are states when the Creator invites a person to come closer precisely through overcoming confusions and disturbances intended to separate us from the Creator. If despite all the disturbances we declare that they come from the Creator in order for us to ask Him for help to rise above the disturbances toward even greater adhesion, then the disturbances turn into means for connection, into this glue with which we adhere to the Creator.
It turns out that disturbances were help, leading to a request in response to which a person received from the Creator the force of bestowal, faith above reason, above disturbances. Thus, one advanced. Therefore, our work consists of being joyful for the disturbances as an opportunity to ask the Creator to bring us closer to Him.1

Back To School And Bullying

Dr. Michael Laitman

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 9/4/19
Bullying in the classroom begins outside the school walls.
As the school year opened, the sore wound of the bullying phenomenon opened along with it. Yes, it happens everywhere and many children live in social isolation and suffer from bullying and insults for months or years. They will carry the internal scars with them for many years into their future. Parents, if they even know what is going on, are helpless in the face of a system that often silences the issue in order to maintain a good reputation.
It is true that bullying has always existed, even when I was a child, but in our day and age, the phenomenon has become extremely worrying. The endless harassment breaks through the classroom walls and haunts the bullied child all the way from classroom to his mobile device, so there is nowhere to escape and find some peace and comfort.
It typically starts from a single child, the leader of the attack; a child who likes to control everyone and who is considered popular among his peers. Why is he doing this? Because he enjoys the satisfaction of being above someone else, so he degrades another child and organizes the whole class against him. However, that child is following his own internal urges as well as the examples he is absorbing from all directions, whether it’s reality shows, YouTube videos, or the adults he is looking up to.
Since our lives have become so filled with power games of pride and control, we shouldn’t wonder why kids are behaving the same way nowadays. We did not form a good enough environment for them, we did not pay enough attention, or provide the right education so as to nurture healthy, positive connections between them, and now the bitter results are coming back to bite us – mainly in the form of bullying.
So how can we deal with all this bullying? First of all, talk to the leader and explain what a terrible injustice he is doing to others and to himself. Equally important is to talk to those who follow the leader so that they do stop give power and fuel to the “leader.” We have to organize the power of many to counter the power of that leader. Why? Because young children instinctively understand what is “good for me or bad for me,” and a child who tries to initiate an attack and sees that it is not going well or even working to his detriment, will stop trying of his own accord.
With older children you can chat. You can show them how they, too, could remain on their own if they continue down this road of bullying. So if they have a desire to attract others around them, they should be positive leaders that everyone wants to follow and imitate.
But instead of finding ourselves looking for ways to combat bullying at school, it’s much better to treat the disease at the root before it spreads by building a healthy social environment for children from an early age. To make positive social relationships the center of attention in our educational programs, rather than individualistic success. And the sooner we do it, the less bullying we will see.

“Will The Amazon Fires Have A Significant Effect On Climate Change?” (Quora)

The Amazon fires won’t have a significant effect on climate change. In order to understand whether nature will act toward us positively or negatively heading into the future, we need to understand how we influence nature, and how nature reacts to our influence.
Contrary to the opinion that we influence nature through our external actions on nature itself, such as the waste and pollution we inflict upon our environment, according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, such actions are not the ones that lead to all kinds of natural disasters and crises.
What leads to natural disasters and crises is solely at the human level, in our connections. At the level of our thoughts, attitudes and behaviors toward each other, we cause ripples throughout human society and nature, and nature reacts to us according to how we relate to each other.
If we relate positively to each other, aiming to positively connect with each other, then we will experience positive reactions from nature. If we relate negatively to each other, aiming to harm and exploit each other for personal benefit, then we will experience negative reactions from nature. This is what we currently experience.
Nature is organized according to four levels: still, vegetative, animate and human.
If we delay our correction in establishing positive connections among us, starting from not harming each other to endlessly improving our connections, then we will experience more and more negative effects upon us from nature.
For instance:
  • If we fail to correct our relations at the still level, which for the time being can be interpreted as not working on the hatred toward others that surfaces in us, there will be disruptions in nature at the still level, such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
  • Likewise, if we fail to correct our relations at the vegetative level, which can be interpreted as failing to stop ourselves from harming others, then there will be problems at the vegetative level, such as fires.
  • If we fail to correct ourselves at the animal level, i.e. allowing ourselves to slip into wars and conflicts, then we will find problems on the animal level, such as extinctions of certain species, as well as the resurfacing of past diseases and new diseases.
  • Nature’s positive or negative reaction to us in the future depends on how much we activate our human ability, i.e., our ability to connect to each other above our divisive egoistic drives.
Accordingly, when we see the complete system of a person as a small world and the world as our encasing environment, then we will see the level of integration that we humans need to have with the world: that our attitudes to each other need to undergo an upgrade: to become considerate and positively connected as a replacement for the currently antagonistic egoism that’s growing within us and increasingly dividing us.
Then, according to the integration of the still, vegetative, animate and human levels within us, between us, with the environment and with nature’s complete system that envelops us, we will experience either harmony if we realize positive human connections, or crises and blows if we don’t.

Slave Of The Creator

laitman_278.03Question: There is such a concept, being a “slave of the Creator.” But the quality of the Creator is a quality of bestowal and love. If you are in it, is it a free state or not?
Answer: Free, of course.
Question: Why then is it called “slave”?
Answer: Because you chose this state for yourself. You, yourself have chosen it.

New Life #1140 – Finding Purpose In A New Approach To Life

New Life #1140 – Finding Purpose in a New Approach to Life
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Today, we are transitioning from focusing on our professions and making money to discovering a new life on a higher spiritual level. We are dissatisfied and are demanding to know the purpose of life. When we ask this question, nature comes to our aid and directs us toward our true destiny, which is to build an integral system of mutual, human bestowal. We are built by the force of reception and must learn to connect above the human ego and discover the power of balance in the system by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Make The Right Choice: The Creator

laitman_962.8Bina is an abstract property of faith, but this faith is realized in Malchut because faith can work practically only where there is a property of receiving. The desire to enjoy appears first at the level of Hochma, but it has not yet been realized by the created being. And the desire to bestow appears in Bina but still without its practical realization. From the combination of both appears the fourth stage, Dalet, where there should be faith, and to the extent of faith, reception. The desire to receive in Malchut is a consequence of the desire to bestow in Bina and the desire to receive in Hochma, which Zeir Anpin completely connects together.1
The 15th of Av (Tu B’Av) is considered one of the best days for Israel. A good day is the day when you can bestow to the Creator the most. Tu B’Av symbolizes receiving for the sake of bestowal, but for the benefit of the future, when Malchut will already be corrected. In the meantime, although the ascent of the worlds takes place, it is due to the awakening from above, not to the work of the lower.
The end of correction takes place on PurimTu B’Av is a combination of the receptive desires of Malchut in the presence of all the right conditions that have come out of the four stages, represented as four groups of girls looking for suitors: Hochma, Bina, ZA, and Malchut.
The beauties said: “Turn your eyes to beauty, for a woman is for beauty.” The noblemen said: “Cast your eyes on family, for a woman is for sons.” The wealthy said: “Cast your eyes on the wealthy.” And the unsightly said: “Take us in the name of Heaven and crown us with gold ornaments.” In this way, all the stages passed by: Hochma, Bina, ZA, until the turn of Malchut came, and it turned out that Malchut Shamayim (the Kingdom of Heaven) must be poor and meager, not wealthy, beautiful, and noble. Only through our work can we become loyal to it.
This holiday represents our searches and disappointment in our own strength, our readiness to separate ourselves by any means from the desire to enjoy and our becoming devoted to bestowal, that is, to not demand anything for ourselves. I ask the Creator to provide me with protection against my desire to enjoy, my major enemy. I must hate my egoism to such an extent that I do not succumb to any temptation.
Let my egoism die—it will not get anything! Let me disappear—it does not matter because I have to go through the point of complete restriction and be born on the other side of the barrier, which means the death of my desire to enjoy for my own sake. This will be life and light for me: life is only on the other side of this barrier (Machsom).
To do this, one must reach the fourth stage, Malchut, an ugly, poor, lowborn bride called faith. If I am able to remain faithful to her despite her being poor and meager, then I have gained faith. This is the condition for gaining Malchut: consent to cleave only to her, despite other seductive images.
Faith is accepted without any conditions, otherwise it will not be faith but a calculation or a deal. Faith cannot have any selfish basis. I want to get rid of the egoistic calculation. Otherwise, I will not enter the spiritual world. This is a condition for entry: to cleanse myself of egoistic desires and remain only in bestowal. The property of bestowal is the absence of any calculation of self-benefit.
If I try to achieve faith, I go through all these stages, one after the other, getting acquainted with the “brides” preceding Malchut: beautiful, wealthy, and noble. But in the end, I reach the state when I want nothing but to get rid of all this “nobility.” I want only the Creator to exist and not me. This is how spiritual life begins.
I am ready to give up on all my calculations and cling to the Creator without any reasoning. This is how I become a spiritual seed. I want the Creator’s program to govern me, defining all my behavior, thoughts, and desires. Let a different engine work in me.
An egoistic engine is currently spinning in me, looking for how to gain more, to succeed, and to enjoy itself. I want a new engine to constantly turn me toward the Creator and not to seek anything for itself so that a new program of bestowal will work within me. This means that the upper light is being revealed in me, giving me a new perception of life, and with these new eyes, I see the upper world.2
Of all the “brides,” of all the desires, after a long clarification, we choose the one that requires nothing but adhesion and wants to base all of its reception only on faith. This is the condition for gaining Malchut, receiving for the sake of bestowal.
This bride seems ugly to our desire to enjoy, lowborn, poor, and meager. But precisely when I get nothing for my ego, I can be faithful to the Creator with all my soul. I am ready to die in order to remain faithful to Him. This is the condition for crossing the Machsom.3
Tu B’Av means choosing Malchut Shamayim. After the 9th of Av, I had nothing left for myself; everything collapsed: both the First and the Second Temple. Then the 15th of Avcomes when I can base my attitude toward the Creator only on the property of bestowal. Therefore, the 15th of Av is considered the greatest holiday.
Thanks to the revelation of the shattering on the 9th of Av, on the 15th of Av I gain the ability to hold onto the Malchut Shamayim, to choose the right bride, Malchut.
The four brides from whom we choose is our attitude toward the group, the expectation to receive wealth, knowledge, and nobility from it. But in the end, I see that I will get only one thing—through my devotion to them, the achievement of devotion to the Creator. For me, this is the greatest asset.
All this seems ugly to my desire to enjoy. I see nothing good in this group and I would be happy to do away with everyone, but this is exactly the form through which, if I accept it, I can reach the Creator.
The whole world shows me how it hates me because I am engaged in bestowal and how it would support me if I were as egoistic as everyone else. The world is becoming very harsh in this regard. No one blames me for egoistic reception, but everyone attacks me for the aspiration to bestow. If I change, then I am immediately promised a good life and the return of the three profitable brides: the stages Aleph, Bet, and Gimel.
Here, one has to be very straightforward and must not make any compromises. The Creator will confuse me in every possible way. But the condition for crossing the Machsomis to say: “I am better off dead than living such a life.” Then, I will see how all these mirages dissipate and disappear.
A real bride is the one who will be with me provided that I agree to accept her anyway, may she be the ugliest woman in the world. She has neither beauty, nor wealth, nor nobility—nothing attractive. Why do I love her and get close to her? It is because only in this image she brings me to the Creator.
I see that the Creator plays with me through all these mirages, seducing me with wealth, intelligence, knowledge, nobility, bribing my ambition. But in the end, I understand that the greatness of the Creator is in His modesty. Therefore, I need to reduce my pride and my requirements and look not for beauty and nobility, intelligence and wealth, but only for the desire to adhere with all my heart, and then I can get married.4
The period of the 9th of Av is the time of death and destruction. But starting from the 15th of Av and further on, from the joyful day of Tu B’Av on which we chose the correct Malchut Shamayim, we begin preparations for the congress: for the connection between us and merging with the Creator already with the correct desire.5

Make The Future Yourself

laitman_622.01Question: Are the future states determined in sensations? How do we recognize these feelings? Is it possible to predict the future?
Answer: It is easy to predict the future. However, we should have no interest in predicting the future. Instead, we should be creating the future.
So what if you recognize a chain of events? Even if they clearly appear before you? What comes next? It will not make your life easier. Moreover, it will even harm you.
You have to create the future yourself. That is the problem. Turn a blind eye to the future, if it will be revealed to you, and make it yourself.
I think that the more you engage in Kabbalah, the less you will be interested in the future. You will understand that you create it yourself.

“What Is Liberalism?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What is liberalism?
Liberalism:
Everyone has a place to say what they want,
No hatred of anybody,
You can speak your mind openly and pluralistically, i.e. in a way allowing for multiple opinions,
We can reach a dialogue—first and foremost, understand each other, and gradually integrate with each other.
As a result of such human conduct, we’ll develop a greater understanding of human society.
However, if the situation continues as it does today—where one side hates the other—then it cannot be considered as “liberal” or “democratic.” The side that is calling the other side “non-democratic” is already a non-democratic side.
This form of interest-based politics is dead.
I learned it upon myself in the Former Soviet Union. They would use pleasant words about brotherly love and unity to cover their killing of the people. It was used only with power motives to cover the social division and hatred, which was the reality of the time. Their high investment in the propaganda of this idea impressed not only its own people, but societies as far as Western Europe.
It worked for a while, and then it all collapsed.
However, today where we have one side saying that it is liberal and democratic, and absolutely hates the other side, wanting to eliminate it completely, going as far as forcefully protesting against them, what kind of democracy is that?
Democracy is that we sort these problems out peacefully and reasonably.
Liberalism is when I gather together other people’s opinions, wanting to connect everyone together in a social dialogue.

New Life #20 – A New Connection Among Us

New Life #20 – A New Connection Among Us
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi
We have access to everything at the click of a button, but despair fills our world. We have reached a crisis in family life, health, culture, and science. We have so much power and yet nature dominates us mercilessly. We must evolve from the power of giving as a means of receiving to the value of giving as the end in itself. We need an engine to help us achieve this new stage in human development. The engine is a new human society in which the relationships between us will be based on mutual connection and love. Together, we can break through the boundary set before us and feel the amazing, new, and happy life that awaits us.

Florida—Hurricane Dorian

Dr. Michael Laitman

From My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 9/2/19
This is a moving letter I received from my beloved students in Florida:
“Dear Rav Laitman,
We are bracing for the Dorian Hurricane. This huge storm is flooding our shores and is expected to be the worst in the last thirty years.
There is no doubt that Hurricane Dorian is expected to hit hard and wreak havoc. Tens of thousands have fled, and the rest are busy raiding the supermarkets and protecting their homes. There are long lines at the gas stations.
Many of your students who live here in Florida and live near the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah branch in Orlando, have decided to gather together at one of our friend’s residence, who opened his heart and his home to all of us.
We wanted to ask you and the friends around the world for your thoughts and prayers. The storm is a huge opportunity for all of us to unite, accelerate our advancement and get closer.
From studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, the wisdom of connection, we know that in the global and connected world every thought is capable of profound change. Therefore, if we were only educated beforehand, before the natural forces required us to do so, then no one would need this devastating storm.
We thank you in advance for your prayers. Together we will quiet the storms.
Lovingly,
The students and friends from Florida.”
After this letter, I have nothing but to agree and say that we are always with you, especially these days. And, as you wrote, the more united we will be, the less powerful and destructive the forces requiring us to connect will be.
Let’s pray together, because our thoughts are the most powerful force of nature. And who knows, maybe instead of Orlando or Miami shores, the storm will drop and fade into the ocean.

What Did I Do To Deserve This?

laitman_600.02People often ask: “Why do such troubles happen to me?” A person might get fired, be stricken by a serious illness, or experience the death of a loved one, and he starts wondering: “What did I do to deserve this?” I have heard it a thousand times from people who came to seek advice from me.
In fact, it is impossible to find out why a disaster occurred; one should not dig into the past searching for a reason, as if there is a connection between our actions, reward or punishment. If I try to connect the past and future, building a causal chain, that would be a very simplistic, material approach. It is how we talk to small children who are unable to grasp any more than that. As a child grows up (at 12-13 years old), he must develop a different way of thinking.
I do not know why certain things happen to me—it depends on the root of my soul. Each state is something completely new at every moment. Whatever happened in the past has no bearing on the future, everything depends on a common system for all of humanity, on the common soul. Everything comes to me from there and I am interconnected with an infinite number of variables that affect my destiny.
Quite possibly, parts of the soul that are very distant from me determine what is happening to me at this moment. Conversely, I can be the reason for what is happening to them. After all, we are all connected in the one common soul of Adam.
Obviously, on a simple corporeal level, I can predict the consequences of my physical actions. But suddenly something happens and I lose a direct connection. It happens because we are unable to take into account all the variables in our lives. It seems to us that all the reasons should be evident, but it is not the case.
The question is, what can be done when a difficult situation arises? We must not look into the past, but work with the state we are given now. A person is renewed every moment, every day. There is no moment that is like another. These are spiritual laws. Commands come to us from the spiritual world without any connection with what one does in this world.
This shatters our entire previous system of beliefs about reward and punishment and it forms a new system where we are connected with the real reasons—the upper governance that shapes our whole lives.
If something happens, do not look for the reason in the past. Even if I believe that I have found it, would it help me? Based on that, I will only make more mistakes in the future. Thus, it is best to say that each moment comes from above, based on the root of my soul. If I want to ensure a good, decent, and fast development for myself, I must affect the root of my soul so that only good directions come from there.
The past happened and sank into eternity; we are not concerned about it anymore. In my current state, I must look for greater connection with everyone. If I am not in a Kabbalistic group, among people who want to connect into the one common soul of Adam HaRishon, then I have no way of influencing my life. I will be merely executing the commands that come from the upper governance, not knowing where they come from.
If I want to connect with my spiritual root, I must be in the right environment in order to take care of the group and humanity, pulling them toward connection. Then the system that I am a part of, which is the source of all the commands, will be revealed to me.
If a tragedy occurs, one must not blame or devour himself. Instead, one must accept it as it is and from this state connect even more with the group. In order for this to happen, one must be among people who also want to influence, understand, and rise above their lives. It is possible.
We see that there is no reward or punishment for past deeds in this world. Criminals live beautiful lives while a simple worker, earning his bread by the sweat of his brow, suffers. Trying to find fairness means wasting your efforts in the wrong direction. There is nothing to learn from this world because it is built on falsehood.
The science of Kabbalah explains the only way to affect the world: to find a group of like-minded people and start uniting with them. Only by the power of our connection can we influence the upper force. Then it will change reality for all of us.
We can create such a revolution without a single soldier or shot fired, without any violence, only on account of the upper force. If we unite in a ten, we awaken the upper force to correct us and all of humanity.
Our reward is in our unity and the sensation of the ten of us as a single unit. Our punishment is in our inability to achieve that. Then, whatever happens to me, even the worst thing imaginable, I will say that it came from above and that it is the best thing possible because it pushes me toward love and connection with my ten. Every moment is a new life, a new state that I have to work with inside my ten. In this case, anything sent my way will be perceived as good.
I build my soul inside the ten. Ten friends trying to unite (“friend” –  “Haver” from the word “connection” –  “Hibur”), build such a mechanism between them called “a soul.” In the soul, they reveal the force of love and bestowal, unity, that which controls the whole universe. That is why it is called the upper force. Our whole lives, all events lead us toward the realization of this goal.

For Every Type Of Soul

laitman_527.07Question: I heard that one page of a text written by a Kabbalist is enough to enter spirituality. Why were so many books written, thousands of pages?
Answer: First, every person has one’s own destiny, one’s own type of soul, one’s own advancement. Somebody likes something specific; another person likes something else.
We are moving to the Creator in different ways and at different speeds. Someone walks left, someone right, someone lingers half a step, etc.
I do not see any letters or articles by Baal HaSulam and Rabash in which there are repetitions and that there would be no need to take some grain from each of them.
But it doesn’t matter. After all, when we study them, we come to the state that all this is processed in us, minced, and brings a result.
Question: If the book Shamati evokes a storm of feelings in me, is this evidence that it suits my type of my soul and my destination?
Answer: Of course.
Question: Is this the way you can check a book?
Answer: No. All the same, the books of Baal HaSulam and Rabash are what you have. I recommend you not spread out on others.

New Life #1139 – Spiritual Gratitude

New Life #1139 – Spiritual Gratitude
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Giving is in opposition to the force of egoism, and balances it, bringing a person to a sense of spiritual gratitude. Effective gratitude is based on the revelation of evil within a person’s egoism and the recognition that there is no potential for good without this evil. Evil is actually good when it brings us closer to others, helping us achieve the true purpose of life, and leading us to the discovery of the energy of all life. As we develop, we become grateful to the upper force that leads us toward the goal and takes care of us by sending us the power of good as well as the power of evil.

Learn The Actions We Must Perform

Dr. Michael Laitman“The Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah” (Pticha) begins with these words: “The Creator wished to cleanse Israel; hence, He has given them plentiful Torah and Mitzvot (commandments)…”The Creator has a goal and He works toward it. The goal must be achieved through the process that the created beings undergo. The Creator placed this goal before us and He wishes for us to achieve it not by some miracle, but through our own effort and gradual internal changes.
This goal is primary, it precedes our creation; in order to achieve it, we must go by means of Torah and Mitzvot, meaning, to change our desire with the help of the light that reforms. This goal existed prior to the creation of a person in this world, as was the ladder of spiritual degrees that the person must ascend in order to achieve it. The Creator thought about everything in advance and organized it for us; everything is ready.
We must cleanse ourselves of our egoism and by doing so achieve the goal. But we do not negate it because nothing was created in this world needlessly. Thus, if we have the correct attitude toward our nature, made by the Creator, and strive toward the state He has in store for us, we find ourselves on a given path that we must go through.
It is impossible to skip over this path because we acquire the qualities we need while on it, we purify ourselves. We must cleanse our egoistic desire and, through this work, arrive at the intended goal. Such is the desire of the Creator.
This is how Baal HaSulam starts his article “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” trying to explain to us, in the briefest way possible, the beginning, the middle, and the end of the path of the person’s spiritual work and the study of the system of the upper worlds. In this article, one must understand that the higher spiritual laws, expanding from the thought of creation, consist of only two parts: the nature of the Creator and the nature of the creation, which must be opposite to the Creator. The final goal is to bring the creation to the full adhesion with the Creator without changing its nature but giving it a different form, which resembles the qualities of the Creator.
Through studying the article “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” the system of the upper worlds and its unfolding from top to bottom as a result of which our whole reality was built, we realize that all of it sprung from the thought of creation, for the purpose of bringing us to the final goal. This top-down development of the worlds, the spiritual degrees, states, obligates us to conduct certain actions here below in order to use all the means at our disposal and achieve the purpose of our lives. Our inner work must reflect the spiritual qualities described in this article.
We learn about the light working on the desire, building and disseminating from top to bottom, Partzufim, Sefirot, upper worlds. But in fact, we are learning about the actions we must perform in order to have a clear understanding of what our spiritual work has to be like. Thus, we eliminate all prior misconceptions and clearly see what must be done to achieve the goal.1
