Collective Balance

Question: People have differing sensitivity. Is there a chance that someone will not be able to integrate into unity that emerges during the workshops?
Answer: It is almost impossible because people who are sitting in a circle together become infected by each other. And that is why the most insensitive of them gets gentleness, tenderness, and sensitivity from the others, and the most sensitive one becomes balanced by others. Everything reaches a common denominator.
They do not have anything personal because everything changes into the collective. You say that some of them feel in this way and someone else in a different way. There is no longer “someone”—each of them includes all the others into himself.

There Is No Room For Despair And Disappointment

We must discover all the deficiencies since the good is revealed only in its opposite. So, we must rejoice when we discover the negative form; it is the first level of revelation after which there is already a correction and fulfillment.
So, we must understand that if a person follows the right path, then there is no room for despair and disappointment. A person who advances correctly always should be happy since he goes through all the phases along the way, justifying them as he understands that they are necessary for the revelation of wholeness.
Corruption is, above all, my disagreement with my state—feeling reluctant to justify it and to accept it as necessary—that must be revealed. All the states already are imprinted in the root of my soul in my nature.
The states are revealed from lighter to the more difficult: Ibur (gestation), Yenika(suckling) and Mochin (adulthood). First, I am only a tiny embryo who lacks all self-awareness. Then, I am born, which means that the awareness is born within me, the understanding. Before that I simply felt something without knowing where I was and what was going on. Then, I begin to feel pleasant and unpleasant feelings, different changes of states. Then, I begin to come to know the upper a little, who He is, and how He manages and changes me.
I am connected to Him. He seems to be cunning since He hides from me while I look for Him and chase Him, not knowing where He is. I am told that I can discover Him through the environment, but I don’t want this environment. However, it turns out that this is to the same extent that I don’t want Him since it is the same thing.
This means that I must go through many states before I understand and reach therecognitionMochin, which is the last level of our evolution that comes after Ibur andYenika. It is natural since I cannot understand anything unless I have enough experience and attain the reasons for what is going on, the connection between them, and begin tying one with the other. Thus, the states begin to illuminate for me a little from within, and I understand what is derived from what. Through the connection between the events, I discover their source, which is actually external, outside the actions that I feel.
Therefore it is very difficult for a person to advance since one cannot justify the actions that one feels, which seem coincidental. One doesn’t even understand their order. He would like to see who is working on him, but he doesn’t. It is a hard way since we don’t attribute everything that happens to us to the One—that there is none else besides Him and we don’t acknowledge the fact that this One is good and benevolent.
Because we don’t try to trust this one, good force, we don’t discover anything on the way. There is even a phase during our development when a person fears any new discoveries and prefers that nothing new will happen. He simply feels the physical pain because the revelation is discovered so painfully that everything within him is an unpleasant feeling.
If a person were to expect more revelations, he could make efforts in order to attain them and not just for the sake of acting externally, lying to himself that he is working, but actually fearing to take a step forward.
Only if he has a good and strong environment—which means that he overcomes his egoand turns to the environment—he annuls his ego that comes between him and his independent vessels that seem to be external. Then, he retrieves these vessels and these means, and through them, he can discover the next states with joy and bring them near. It is possible only to the extent that he annuls his ego before the society, understanding that it is not the external society, but his internal attributes.

A Voice Calling In The Dark Forest

Baal HaSulam, Shamati, Article 241, “Call ye upon Him While He is Near,” (Isaiah 55:6): We must understand what “while He is near” means, since “the whole earth is full of His glory”! Thus, He is always near, so what does “while He is near” mean? It would seem that there is a time when He is not near. …
Similarly, one who has lost the good way and entered a bad place, and has already accustomed himself to live among beasts, from the perspective of the will to receive, it would never occur to him that he should return to a place of reason and Sanctity. Yet, when he hears the voice calling him, he awakens to repent.
Hence, when the Creator wishes to bring him out of the dense forest, He shows him a remote Light, and the person gathers the remains of his strength to walk on the path that the Light shows him, in order to attain it.
But if one does not ascribe the Light to the Creator, and does not say that the Creator is calling him, then the Light is lost from him, and he remains standing in the forest. …
Everything depends on our preparation, to the extent that we yearn to discover the attribute of bestowal, which is called to discover the Creator. To this extent, we begin to hear the Creator’s voice calling us and inviting us to Him, giving us different signs of His coming near us. However, a person only can feel them when he imagines the goal that he wants to attain correctly, the attribute of bestowal that is above his attribute of receiving, and not something else. This is called having “faith above reason.”
However, if a person has not corrected himself yet, he cannot feel or believe that it is the Creator calling him and he thinks that these are coincidental occurrences or that he simply has awakened by himself. He doesn’t understand that it is the Creator’s voice calling him by pulling him toward the attribute of bestowal.
Everything is determined by a person’s preparation. If the preparation was correct and sufficient, if a person has exerted himself enough and has filled his measure, then he begins to feel how the Creator invites him in every opportunity he encounters.
If a person makes efforts, then, eventually, he sees that the Creator is waiting for him around every corner, inviting that person to Him through giving different signs and clues. Thus, the connections between them are formed, and the person becomes the Creator’s partner. To the extent that the Creator is attracted to the person, that person also is attracted to the Creator, to mutual bestowal, until they meet and embrace one another.
Here, everything depends on a person’s preparation. At first, a person doesn’t even feel that he is lost in the dark forest. He is looking for the wrong place and thinks that he can break through by himself and attain what he desires by himself. Or, he simply may wait for someone to come and save him—there is also this phase along the way. It takes time until he manages to identify the Creator’s voice and understand that it is really the Creator calling him.
Then, they connect, and the Creator saves the person because the person already understands what true salvation is.

One Against All Of Nature

Baal HaSulam, “Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” Item 1: When we examine ourselves, we find that we are as corrupted and as low as can be. And when we examine the operator who has made us, we are compelled to be at the highest degree, for there is none so praiseworthy as Him. For it is necessary that only perfect operations will stem from a perfect operator.
Indeed we see that nature is perfect and that everything in it is arranged much more successfully than in our lives. A person’s attitude to others comes down to a desire to rape, kill, eat, abuse, and beat others in any way possible. We see that such an approach is bad and harmful. In order to lead a normal life, it would be better if we existed nicely on the basis of the principles of mutuality, preserving nature, and watching over one another. We teach our children not to fight, to be generous, and to play together. But it appears that children can’t do this and neither can adults. It turns out that our nature is evil. This is what we discover when we look at ourselves.
On the other hand, in nature everything is built wonderfully. Numerous studies are more clearly depicting the picture of this harmonious balance and mutual cooperation. In the end nature created life which requires coordination between delicate and complex mechanisms working together. We see how versatile and complex the world is and how wisely it was created. Where does all that come from? From some tiny “atom” that was created as a result of the Big Bang?
One way or the other, the accurate, complex versatility that we see impresses us, but when we look at man who is the “crown of creation” we see one inclination: to destroy everything. This makes one to consider how that can be; that the most complex part, the “best” part, is also the worst part.
An ant or a cockroach doesn’t harm anyone, they only act according to nature’s orders and help others in the general system that is mutually connected. In it, everyone lives in order to sustain the others and each one has its own niche and sustains itself in order to be connected with thousands of other creatures. Together they all make up a perfect jigsaw puzzle, an inseparable combination of the lines of the general picture. If you take out one item, everything will immediately become distorted, and the perfection will be destroyed.
In the meantime, on the whole, this is what man does. His actions are in contrast to the perfection of nature. All the animals and plants, everything, exists in perfect agreement, and most importantly in mutual completion; everyone is connected, and everyone depends on everyone, needs one another. In nature everything is based on balance where you can’t take out one link and move it to another place; it’s one whole jigsaw puzzle. And along comes man and destroys it until the world gradually approaches disaster. Up until now we didn’t understand that other than us all of nature is perfect and things that seem to us as imperfect are an indication of the “distorted mirror” of our perception or as a result of our destructive participation.
Man can’t be incorporated into the wholeness since he is corrupt. He is the only creature that is opposite from nature and this shows that the key for the correction is actually within us.

Desperate Joy

Rabash, Article 19, “The Matter of Joy”: This means that the joy is a result of a certain reason. So what is the reason, so that the reason can be evoked in order to bring us joy?
And accordingly, the intention to follow the right line as much as one can is called “wholeness.” And a person is already in a state of wholeness, which is called “equivalence.” Which means that the whole, which is the person, is now adhered to the Whole, as it says: “The blessed adheres to the blessed and the damned adheres to the damned.
Of course, we cannot feel anything spiritual if it is not by its opposite form. Internally we lack wholeness, we lack control, we are powerless and under the complete control of the egoistic desire to receive that calls for the domination of all the good in the world, but we transcend this and “restrict” ourselves, holding on only to the desire to bestow as we value it more and more.
This means that joy comes as a result of our feeling of great frustration, disappointed in our own desires. We are very happy that we have found a desire, the Creator’s intention, which we can use to control our desires. There is a great gap created between what we are and the Creator’s essence. We acquire His vessels and then our vessels can connect to His vessels.
Thus, a great void is formed between the two opposites, which we can now fill with bestowal. We are filled by bestowal and this brings us joy.
In The Book of Zohar it is written, (Genesis. Item 159): “the induction of the posterior, which is a call was so strong, until all his levels were lost and he became an ordinary man, Shimon from the market, and he acknowledged that it is a call and an invitation for a very sublime attainment.”
All the spiritual discernments ride on the great contrasts. It is in the gap, in the disparity between them and the connection between them above reason, that the new vessel is revealed, that is not part of our nature and which is a vessel of bestowal in which joy is revealed.
The Light that is revealed in the vessel that receives in order to bestow is the “Light of Life.” And its inner essence that is created by identifying and adhering to the Creator is felt as joy. It is a result of a good deed, which means of the act of bestowal.
[101331]
From the 1st part of the Daily Kabbalah Lesson 2/25/13Writings of Rabash

The First Level Of Eternity

Baal HaSulam, “The Freedom”: Therefore, they were certainly liberated from the angel of death, for death is necessarily an absence and negation of the existence of a certain object. But only while there is a spark that wishes to exist for its own pleasure is it possible to say about it that that spark does not exist because it has become absent and died.
However, if there is no such spark in man, but all the sparks of his essence clothe in bestowal of contentment upon their Maker, then it is neither absent nor dead. For even when the body is annulled, it is only annulled with respect to self-gratification, in which the will to receive is dressed and can only exist in it.
However, when he achieves the aim of Creation and the Creator receives pleasure from him, since His will is done, man’s essence, which clothes in His contentment, is granted complete eternity, like Him. Thus, he has been rewarded with freedom from the angel of death.
The desire to receive must only get rid of the intention to receive for itself, but the desire itself is never refined and doesn’t disappear, but acquires the intention of “in order to bestow.” If a person can fulfill this condition internally on its minimal level, on the first degree, if he wants this to happen, then the Light comes to him and illuminates on him, and makes him worthy of the first level called the gathering before Mt. Sinai.
In order to do that, he must accept all the conditions, rise above all the hardening of the heart, all the worries, and all the interruptions that were sent to him in order to attribute everything to the Creator’s dominion, to “there is none else besides Him,” and to decide that He is good and benevolent—to accept all this in faith above reason and to annul everything that belongs to him in order to aspire as much as he can for the Creator.
If a person wishes to detach himself from all his affairs in this world, not because they are unpleasant or threatening as it was during the time of preparation, but rather the opposite—when he can receive all the goodness but still gives it all up and attributes himself to the Creator—then the Light comes and builds the first level of bestowal, ofLishma (for Its Name) in him. This is called the receiving of the Torah since, for the first time, he sees how the Light in it reforms.

For The Sake Of The Family, I’d Do Anything

Question: There is the concept “motivation” that means the inner desires of a person. And there is the concept ”influence,” which is when we influence a fellow worker to awaken different kinds of desires in him. In any case, where does the motivation of the workers and managers need to come from: the inside or the outside?
Answer: It should come not from the workers or the managers, but from the experts in the study of integral education who work for this company and understand what more they can do in order to create fulfillment within a team. Man needs to feel a reward not at the end of the month when he receives a paycheck, but directly while he is working.
“I work together with everyone. Interesting events are set up for us, candies are distributed during work, presents are sent to my wife and children,” etc.
All of these are small things. But together with this, a person feels warmth, feels reward. For him, work turns into a continuation of the family. Since the family is mine, I am prepared to give to it! I work for its sake! And the more I work, the more pleasure I receive from my giving to it. And even by chopping away at myself! It has an additional effect, meaning, the effect of self-sacrifice. There is something like this in a person, especially in Russia.
But one needs to use this with extreme caution, delicately, so that it creates these fulfillments and abundance in a person so that he will appreciate the work thanks to its inner feeling that would attract a person and connect him to a place. It would give him motivation to feel that he works in a family and for the sake of the family. Maybe it’s a false feeling, but if it appears, then the person doesn’t obstruct his fellow workers, doesn’t ruin the society’s equipment, saves electricity, etc.
Suddenly we discover these reservoirs and opportunities in it that we don’t even need to force him to save or do something else according to instructions. It won’t work that way!
And as if here, everything is done automatically. The main thing is to awaken this motivation in a person, this feeling that he works in the environment just like he does at home! This feeling invites huge resources.

A Pyramid That Turns Into A Circle

Question: Will all the aspirations disappear in the integral society? I doubt if anyone will want to manage or to take on an important project.
Answer: On the contrary, there will be the option of mutual completion, and there will be no need to aspire to be a manager. The fact that I aspire to advance doesn’t mean that it is better. When there is unity and integral support, there is the annulment of the gaps between different positions.
Then, we all work as one team. Notice what happens in the family when everyone worries about everyone. After all, a small child in the family is more important than the grownups. He manages the family! He determines what is important in the family. The family works for him and first and foremost provides everything that he needs!
Truly the right team is “round,” not a “pyramid.” Although there is a section in the form of a pyramid, it is only in the professional sense and not more than that.
What I can do is higher, and what the other can do is lower. But in the company, we are all equal, and the manager is the one who knows how to manage. However, everyone obeys him gladly!

The Art Of Tuning To The Right Frequency

Question: What can you do if you don’t even feel the initial response to what Baal HaSulam describes here internally?
Answer: In order to feel what Baal HaSulam speaks about we need to be sensitive. This means that if you are on the same frequency the wave is transmitted, then you hear it but if you are on another frequency, you will not be able to receive it.
It is as if you are in a car that is equipped with everything that you need—an antenna and a radio—but if you don’t turn the button and don’t tune the radio to the wave you desire, you will not hear it. Although the wave has already been received by the antenna and entered the radio, it didn’t go through the part in the receiver that is responsible for the identification of the frequency. It is not tuned to the right frequency so that it can be compatible with the frequency that is sent to you.
It turns out that Baal HaSulam writes in a certain frequency and for the time being you cannot perceive it. You can feel sorry about that and think about how you can calibrate yourself and become more sensitive to this frequency, but this doesn’t mean that you have to torture yourself and be unhappy, but rather that you have to be in joy!

The Three Components Of The Ascent

There is a system which in our perception of reality is depicted as the current reality of this world. In it a person has books that were written by Kabbalists in the past, a teacher who is a Kabbalist, friends, the whole world, and the Creator who is concealed, meaning the attribute of bestowal that is opposite from everything a person discovers in his five senses. Except for this attribute, everything is at his disposal.
So how can we use all the means we have correctly, in order to reach the general attribute of bestowal?
It is external to a person, outside his “vessel,” and he can acquire it with the help of three components: books, the group, and the teacher. With their help he fulfills the study, dissemination, and the connection.
The combination of all these things brings a person to turn his vessels, his desires, from receiving to bestowal. He discovers increasingly more egoistic vessels that he turns to “in order to bestow,” according to his efforts and exertion.
What are these efforts and exertion?
A person holds on to the right intention during the study, connects with the friends in the group, and follows the advice of the teacher without which he doesn’t know how to work with the books and the group. On the whole, these three components are called “Torah,” which means a study, a method, a means for attaining the attribute of bestowal.
From that we choose the right actions and the right relations by combining the books the group and the teacher in them. Thus a person reaches oppositeness, by rising “above his reason” above his mind and feelings, towards the next level…

The Right Hat

Question: Can we say that the miracle of Purim symbolizes a certain exception to the absolute rules?
Answer: The slight illumination that appears in the image of Mordecai summons and leads to a great Light; we must first understand that the clarification is by the Light of Hochma and not by the Light ofHassadim. It is the Light of Hochma that separates the items “cutting off” one from the other like a knife: this is good and this is bad, this is one way and that is the other way.
Without Haman, this clarification would be impossible. But Haman has to come by Mordecai. Just as a flashlight is not enough in the dark, it must first be focused on the right spot, which means to prepare the deficiency in advance; Haman must be added to Mordecai so that it will be possible to manage him correctly.
As for the miracle of Purim, it is like the miracle of the exodus from Egypt; if there is no great Light that shines, we cannot connect the vessels. There has never been such a great Light as in Purim, a Light that connects all the ends into the “middle line” and then raises them to the first restriction.
Question: Why was it necessary to kill Haman?
Answer: Haman symbolizes the intention of “in order to receive.” Is it possible to leave this intention alive?
After all, it isn’t about the vessels of receiving which are eternal, but rather about the intention, about how to use Malchut: whether in an egoistic way or an altruistic way, with the intention of in order to receive or in order to bestow. Who will manage the King’s treasure, all of Malchut, in the King’s favor, Mordecai or Haman?
First all my vessels, all my desires, are egoistic “in order to receive” (↓). All this is called “Haman.” On the other hand, “Mordecai” is the intention of only in order to bestow (↑). So we have to change our vessels from one intention to another intention. By that we kill “Haman” and raise “Mordecai.”
At the same time the vessels remain the same, and we only change the “cover,” the “hat,” the intention, which is called the head of the Partzuf. The treasures, Malchut with all its 127 states, remain, but we pass only on the control from Haman to Mordecai.

How Do We Receive The Light?

We must understand that the future is on our hands. We are the ones who determine it. If we sit idly, nothing good will happen. We mustn’t think about ourselves; we must worry about how to bring the method of correction to people and begin fulfilling it.
The dissemination, itself, is actually the fulfillment. It is because a person changes—his thoughts and desires change, and his attitude to the world—and so, he already bestows. It isn’t the physical actions that are so important here, but the inner changes that affect the spiritual system that manages the world.
So, I invite everyone who is with us to come closer, and what is most important is to invest in dissemination. Today, it concerns Israel first. We can “sweeten” the economic situation and the state of security without waiting for disasters to happen.
In fact, even viewing our lessons has an impact. After all, by that a person “absorbs” the idea of Baal HaSulam and the entire chain of Kabbalists that descends to him from the upper force. He learns about the system of creation and the principles that it operates and is operated by, and thus participates in the process of his own freewill to some extent, and this is his investment.
Question: There are many influential people today among the viewers of our TV channel in Israel, people who are among the decision makers in the country.
Answer: They actually don’t decide anything. The decisions come entirely from the Creator, from the Light, but we can be incorporated there to some extent and make an impact.
In any case, no one determines anything in this world. The plan is very simple. We, humans, are below and above us is the source of Light that brings us bestowal. We can bestow upon the Creator according to the law of equivalence of form (∾). Then the Light that comes makes a turn and already is felt differently by us. We raise MAN and ask the Creator to give us the preparation and the readiness to receive His Light and to be compatible with Him.
How Do We Receive The Light?
The Light is the giver and I am the one who receives. I ask that He will let me bestow a little. If I cannot really bestow, then I want the minimal adaptability, at least, so that there will be a connection between us, so that we will not be opposite from one another.
This is the request for correction that I raise. Then, we begin to act, to connect. Thus, we cooperate with the Light.
However, when we don’t raise MAN, the Light brings us suffering and turns to darkness and terrible sufferings.
There is no other force but the Light, but it operates on us through the front or by its posterior. This means that everything depends on how we receive it. Our action is in preparing ourselves to receive it correctly. It depends on a person and to the extent that he understands, feels, and is ready to advance. Eventually, our awareness must grow.
I do hope that more people will listen to us and will learn what we have to say. Our Internet sites and our TV channel may do the work, and we will not need to look for other channels in order to reach people.

The Right To Work Is The Greatest Reward

We are controlled by two opposite forces that have to reach the right intensity and resistance in order to enable us to be born into the new world. So a person encounters many interruptions that come from the Creator, and thus feels resentment and anger.
I see this kind of attitude in many of my students as if they are waiting for this birth to occur by itself, as if everything will happen by itself, naturally, and the time will come for everyone to enter the spiritual world. But of course, this will not happen to anyone if he doesn’t have the desires, the necessary vessels. The main thing is to prepare our vessels. How can we prepare them if not by overcoming difficulties and problems?
It’s as if some people are “doing me a favor” in coming to lessons and participating in dissemination, expecting they deserve some reward for it; they want to show me what they have done and how much work it entailed. They don’t seem to understand that they need this work in order to stabilize their spiritual vessel, their soul; but instead, they think that they are doing me or someone else a favor.
There are students who think that by their dissemination efforts they “pay” me, in a way, for the lessons I give. They don’t understand that without building the external circles they will not acquire the vessel of their soul, and they believe that they are making an effort for me.
Thinking this way is is a total lack of understanding: A person has to pay the Creator for having given him a chance to invest his powers in the right actions, which means to build the vessel of his soul. The reward is actually not what he thinks at all; our reward is that we have a chance to work, to exert ourselves and not in order to work and then receive a reward. This is a corrupt attitude that needs to be clarified.

A World With One Free Point

Question: Why does a person have to openly say: “The world was created for me?”
Answer: A person has to discover that the world was created for him, that everything in him and around him, and that all the attributes and the actions he sees are aimed at and lead to the correction of his soul, but it’s only if he uses all this correctly and there is nothing else.
Everyone is facing the world of Ein Sof (Infinity), but he perceives this Ein Sof as the picture of this world. If he attributes all the states to the world of Ein Sof according to the principle of “There is none else besides Him,” “the good and the benevolent,” and if he gathers all the times into one point, realizing that they all refer to one idea and that they all lead to one root that returns us to one goal, then he will be able to say openly that the whole world was created only for him.
Everyone should do that: Everyone has his own world since he discovers the world in his desire; he discovers that everything else is his own mental strength and he is the only one who has freewill. Now it seems that there are other forces in the world beside him, but this is only because he hasn’t reached the recognition and the decision that the whole world is inside him, depicted in him and is meant for him, so that he will be able to reveal the general unity.

Listening To And Hearing The Teacher

If a student sees his teacher’s greatness like a Hasid who sees his rabbi, it’s not a good sign. After all, a student has to work in order to see that the teacher is great and to discover that he is important.
On the other hand, if the teacher seems great, does it give me “fuel” to fulfill his advice? This is the criterion according to which I examine my attitude towards him. The real work is in fulfilling what the teacher says in the group, in dissemination, in the study, in a person’s intentions. If I don’t have the power to do so, it’s because the teacher is not important enough for me. How can I see him as more important? After all this is what will ensure my path to the Creator.
For that, I need a group in which I receive the recognition of my teacher’s greatness from the friends, and then I can fulfill what he says. At the same time it is the teacher’s ideas I have to value and nothing but that. Everything else is already “idol worship.” The main thing is the study, the method he teaches and the actions he points out as important for the attainment of the Creator. This is actually what my friends value.
On the whole, the environment can increase the importance of everything, even if it’s a certain kind of tea, the teacher, or the Creator. The desire to receive doesn’t see anything special here; for the desire there are simple different discernments of pleasures, it examines all the options through the perception of standard understanding, of inner emptiness and filling. The details make no difference, if people around me value tea, then I also value tea, and if people around me value the teacher or the Creator, then a person also sees that the teacher and the Creator are important.
The main thing is that the student would want to listen to what the teacher says and by that the inner partitions, the inner ears will open. Through them, in the internality of the system, he will hear an inner voice.
