Kabbalist Yehuda Ashlag (Baal HaSulam) writes in his article “The Freedom” that our single means by which we can change our state is by choosing a suitable environment.

“There is freedom for the will to initially choose such an environment, such books, and such guides that impart to him good concepts. If one does not do that, but is willing to enter any environment that appears to him and read any book that falls into his hands, he is bound to fall into a bad environment or waste his time on worthless books, which are abundant and easier to come by. In consequence, he will be forced into foul concepts that make him sin and condemn. He will certainly be punished, not because of his evil thoughts or deeds, in which he has no choice, but because he did not choose to be in a good environment, for in that there is definitely a choice.

Therefore, he who strives to continually choose a better environment is worthy of praise and reward. But here, too, it is not because of his good thoughts and deeds, which come to him without his choice, but because of his effort to acquire a good environment, which brings him these good thoughts and deeds.”

If we continually choose a more powerful environmental influence that guides us to spirituality, then we become worthy of spiritual progress.

Choosing and strengthening a suitable environment for spiritual progress is primary to becoming more spiritual, and not performing what we usually consider as “good deeds.” This is because we are ultimately not in control of our behaviors. Rather, our environment determines how we think and behave, and so if we place ourselves into an environment that guides us spiritually, and increasingly strengthen our connection to that environment, then it moves us in such a direction and we become more spiritual.

A Hundred Years Of Jewish Wisdom

 

Remark: There are several Jewish wisdoms that are said to change the future of our children.
The first one: “’Experience’ is the word a person uses to call their own mistakes.”

My Comment: Yes. Experience has to come, be born, from one’s own mistakes. If there are no mistakes, there is no experience. It cannot be that a person reaches any correct conclusions if he did not make mistakes.

Question: Is it possible that a person does not make mistakes?

Answer: No. A person cannot do the correct thing if he has not made a mistake in it before.

Question: Does he have regrets that he made mistake?

Answer: It is this regret that produces a correct action.

Question: Do we pass this experience to our children?

Answer: You want to pass it to your children, but they must make mistakes.

Question: Will they have their own experience?

Answer: Of course.

Question: Does it mean that our experience will not help them?

Answer: There is no need. Each generation must make mistakes and come to the correct conclusion and thus move forward.

Remark: That is, everyone has absolutely their own experience. It is the experience of mistakes.

My Comment: Without this, you do not receive clear information, data, sensations, anything, if you did not experience it in all these situations.

Remark: Quote: “If you accidentally got angry, give the anger a chance to stay overnight—just keep quiet until morning.”

My Comment: From our life, we see that this is good. This is called “the one who shuts his mouth during the conflict with the other.”

Question: How can a person do that?

Answer: Through exercises.

Question: What happens in the morning? Will I not be as angry as I was before with this person?

Answer: No, on the contrary, maybe you will be grateful to him.

Remark: Quote: “There are two methods to rise above your neighbor: the first is to rise above yourself, and the second is to put down your neighbor. It is not advisable to use the second method. Rather than digging a pit for someone else, throw these forces at creating a hill for yourself.”

My Comment: It is always worthwhile to rise above yourself. You are growing in this way. Thus, there is no need to pay attention to the other, even from the egotistic point of view. Instead, rise above yourself to some new, more perfect state.

Question: Is it possible to rise above myself at all?

Answer: Of course, every minute.

Remark: Usually, we do something very different, we put down the other.

My Comment: You use the other in order to rise above yourself by accepting his point of view.

Question: Is this called that I annul myself?

Answer: I annul my previous self in order to make an upper one out of myself.

Question: This quote has an interesting ending. It says that if you use the second method, that is, put down the other, you are building a hill for yourself. Does it mean a grave mound?

Answer: Of course.

Question: In other words, if you put down the other, is this in fact your death?

Answer: Yes. On the contrary, rise above others, use this opportunity. Use the other, his criticism, his attitude toward you, let go of yourself, bend down, and then you will rise above yourself.

Remark: Quote: “Do not be too sweet or they will eat you up. Do not be too bitter or they will spit you out.”

My Comment: I say what I think is right. This is what I have “on a platter,” as they say, this is what I give you. You choose: is this sweet or bitter for you, or you can throw it away altogether. Let people see that this is who I am.

Question: What about the fact that people want to see you sweet and you are bitter? A person needs to follow somebody. They are looking for someone to follow.

Answer: Well, it is not necessary to follow me. In any case, I am like this, I will not change! I believe that what I say anyone can understand.

Whether he agrees or not is up to him but at least he will understand. I speak my opinion, I do not alter myself to his opinion so that he will listen to me or respect me and make sure that he is right. I do not do that.

Spiritual work starts from accepting the laws of your own correction.

To do so requires:

• reaching an understanding that rising above the ego is of utmost importance, and that
• connection to others as a single whole according to the rule “love your neighbor as
  yourself” is the loftiest spiritual goal, and also that
• achieving this goal requires a supportive environment—support and encouragement of each
  other’s aspirations to achieve the spiritual goal.

After setting yourself up in such a way, you can then make spiritual progress.

The spiritual path is full of contradictory states—elation one moment, lowliness the next, ascents and descents—sometimes we feel as if there are no spiritual states, desires or intentions before us, but if we create an environment that supports us on our way to the spiritual goal, we eventually undergo a correction of all these egoistic qualities, inverting them all into altruistic ones, as is written that “love will cover all transgressions.”

Undergoing spiritual correction means inverting our egoistic qualities to altruistic qualities.

Reaching such a state means discovering the common soul where everyone resides, with love connecting between us all.

A Gain, Not A Sacrifice

Question: If I loaned a friend $1,000 but he returned only $1, should I consider it to be $1,000?

Answer: You clearly see that it is $1, but you want to take it as the full amount because you want to justify your friend and rise in faith above knowledge since you are in a spiritual relationship with him.

If you act in this way, if you bestow to your friend, then you build the quality of bestowal within yourself, faith above knowledge. You obtain a spiritual quality.

Question: So, I should not ask him about the rest of the money? Meaning that I value the connection with the Creator so much and with my friend as a means to the connection, that I am willing to sacrifice the money?

Answer: You are not sacrificing, but you are gaining. You are receiving an opportunity from him to ascend to the spiritual degree through faith above knowledge.

The fact is that you are not asking for your money back because you feel that by giving to a friend you are already gaining. But this is only in a case where there is a special relationship between the two of you.

Question: Where do I gain the strength to treat him in this way? How do I come to this?

Answer: You come to this when you feel that by being with him in the same spiritual body, you are neither giving nor receiving; it is all one. By giving to a friend, on the contrary, you have brought deep meaning, great help, and a huge investment into your common spiritual body. And you are thrilled about being able to do so.

Question: And, in all of this, am I not afraid of being tricked? These thoughts do come up.

Answer: If you really are in a ten, in a group, and trying to attain the Creator together, to reach His level, then the opportunity to give to a friend inspires you. What could be better?

“The Spiritual Root And Corporeal Branches Of The Jews” (Times Of Israel)

The Times of Israel published my new article “The Spiritual Root and Corporeal Branches of the Jews”

The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method that was established by Abraham around 3,800 years ago, which guides a process of positive connection among people toward their resemblance with the higher force of nature, one of love and bestowal.

Kabbalah teaches that by trying to resemble the force of love and bestowal through our efforts to connect, we attract it into our lives and it corrects us.

“Correction,” in the wisdom of Kabbalah, means reaching the perception of the uniqueness of the force of love and bestowal, and when we reach such perception, we see how no other force operates in the world.

Opposite the force of love and bestowal is the force of reception—the force acting in the created beings.

The force of reception, which is the nature of the created beings, provides us with the ability to differentiate between reception and its opposite force of love and bestowal, as through the opposite of a certain phenomenon, the existence of its opposite can be perceived.

By existing in an opposite receptive nature to the giving nature, we can connect by awakening the force of giving and love above the force of reception, and by doing so, reach balance with nature, a sensation of harmony, perfection and eternity.

According to the two opposite natures of giving and receiving, humanity divides into two general groups: one is a small group originating in those who studied with Abraham, which directed itself to connect and attain the force of love and bestowal. The other is much larger, holding beliefs in myriad corporeal forms, objects and images.

Abraham’s group received the name, “Israel” (“Yashar El” [“straight to God”]), from their orientation to attain the force of love and bestowal, and in later generations they received the name, “Jews,” from the word for “united” (“yihudi”). People with no such inclination received the name, “the nations of the world.”

According to the Jewish nation’s origin—a unification in a common tendency toward the force of love and bestowal—that same tendency should remain as their primary engagement. In other words, the nation of Israel has no need to conduct numerous physical actions, but need only focus on connecting “as one man with one heart.” That is Abraham’s method in a nutshell.

During its years of exile, the nation of Israel mingled with the nations of the world. Many descendants of Abraham’s group ended up functioning solely with the force of reception, detached from the force of love and bestowal. In the meantime, some of the nations of the world who felt attracted to unity joined the group of Israel.

Those from Israel who failed to unite above the increased egoistic desire that acted in them became idolaters, infusing corporeal forms, objects and actions with spiritual importance.

The two groups exist in a certain blend until today.

The change from being a unified nation that senses the higher force, to becoming detached from the sensation of unity and focusing solely on receiving, took place mainly during the ruin of the First and Second Temples, and intensified in the exile that followed them.

Many people from the Jewish nation started performing a number of actions, seeming signs of spiritual motions that exist separate from the human body and the material world. They thought that in such a way they would be able to somehow protect themselves in a common framework and not disperse.

My teacher, Rabash, called such actions “customs.” Customs have their place, until we will become ready enough to understand what is most important: the work of the heart, i.e., the inner work of unity with others in a common tendency toward the force of love and bestowal.

What we do with our hands, legs and mouths is in order to ultimately advance us to conduct internal actions upon our attitude to others: an inner shift from being concerned only about ourselves to being concerned about others, to a point where we love them.

Until today, humanity finds it difficult to absorb the idea that the Creator is a force. It is understandable, since our entire perception is based on corporeal senses.

Yet, according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there is nothing holy in a tree or in a stone, nor in blood or flesh. Holiness can only be in the connection between us, differentiated from and above the egoistic force that separates us. Holiness exists in the balance between two fundamental forces at the foundation of nature: reception and bestowal, without canceling either quality or inclination.

That is why the principles of the wisdom of Kabbalah sound complicated and difficult to absorb, even though the main principle is easy to understand: that we need to reach positive connection among all people, a connection that includes each and every person equally. Moreover, in the heart of our connection, love becomes revealed, which is a positive force that covers all division, hatred and conflict, and by reaching such a state, we discover nothing less than perfection and eternity.

The Purpose Of Life

Question: What is the purpose of life?

Answer: The purpose of life is to reach the center of the connection between us in order to feel the exit into the next dimension.

Question: Who determines the goal of our development?

Answer: Nature pushes us toward reaching the goal. Kabbalah helps to reveal it, to advance us further so that we fulfill our task faster without nature thrusting us into this system by a stick.

Everything Depends On Our Desire

Question: How can we speed up the spiritual corrections, which as we all know take millions of years?

Answer: It does not require much time since spirituality isn’t measured by years but actually depends only on our desire. We can “wait for the eggs to hatch” like chickens and not attain anything, or we can jump and leap above all these actions in a minute. It all depends on our desire.

The desire develops between us to the degree that we show each other what we want and spur different feelings such as hate, envy, and competition in each other. These are very useful.

How Does One Reveal The Spiritual World?

Comment: There is a feeling that you aren’t talking about what happens in the spiritual world, you are hiding what people are engaged with there and everything else.

Answer: For the last 3,500 years a few hundred books have been written about the spiritual world by great Kabbalists who investigated and discovered the upper world. As for me, I am the smallest and the last in the chain of Kabbalists, so if my words are inadequate, I recommend taking their books and start reading!

Then you will find out how you must change yourself so you can see the upper world, learn how to expand it, and penetrate more deeply into it. This is also true for sciences like nuclear physics or the synthesis of medicines and the like. These are very complex things and the wisdom of Kabbalah is even more complex because it is found beyond the perception of our regular senses.

It must be understood that it is not possible to explain the wisdom of Kabbalah, so I don’t exactly explain but teach. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches a person how to open his eyes and see the upper world. It is similar to looking at a stereogram in which you need to defocus your vision to see the hidden image. When the view is concentrated on the picture it seems that there is nothing there except for lines, and suddenly with defocusing your vision a three-dimensional picture can be seen there of roaming dinosaurs or anything else. This happens when vision is fully dispersed.

The wisdom of Kabbalah can teach a person to disperse the focus like this with all the senses! Then all five senses become directed toward the next more internal level and we begin to enter into a picture of the world that is beyond its borders and we feel all of creation! I cannot explain this, I can only recommend how to disperse the focus on oneself, how to feel the upper world instead of this world, and enter into the next dimension.

In fact, we exist in all five spiritual worlds! And our world, which is found on the lowest level of development, is not counted among them. There are five worlds that are composed of 125 levels, which are found above our world; they exist here and now, but we don’t feel and see them. But we come in contact with them unconsciously, and they influence us. The role of a person is to discover the upper world and to carry out a focal dispersion on all of his egoistic approaches to life and begin to perceive the altruistic world that exists according to laws that are the opposite of the laws of our world: altruism instead of egoism, love instead of hatred, concern for others rather than concern for oneself.

The Torah doesn’t just say “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18) for no reason at all. This is the general law of the upper world, and if you want to feel it, try practicing this attitude toward the world. This is possible only if a person enters into a circle of people like him who are eager to attain the true reality.

When a group of people like this gather together and begin to practice attitudes like this with each other, attitudes of love and concern, attention and support, then suddenly, as if in a fog, the hidden world that surrounds us will begin to appear and be revealed. The entire Kabbalistic method is based upon this, and no Kabbalist can tell us about the spiritual world because we don’t have internal models that match its sensation. In our world, we are already born with models that make it possible to feel the spiritual world, and even though they are incomplete, we acquire them. Why do newly born babies not hear and later begin to hear?  Why don’t they see at first and then begin to see? It is because these models are created in us gradually, we develop our senses. I suggest everyone to begin engaging in the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah, which derives its name from the word, “Le’Kabel,” to receive, to receive perception of the upper world.

Creating A Third Civilization

Question: Was the Maccabean rebellion the last spark before the waning of the first Jewish civilization?

Answer: The Maccabean rebellion was indeed an outburst before the waning of the Jewish civilization, not of the days of the First Temple, but of the second, during the days of the Second Temple. Now we are nearing the third civilization,

Today there is no Jewish civilization and we need to restore and rebuild it because this is what the world strongly demands. The first two civilizations were the foundations of the third civilization, which should include the whole world.

This may sound like the slogans of the Islamic movements that want to swallow the whole world, but in Judaism it is about ideological unity. There is one Jewish civilization that undergoes three phases, and we can understand that by studying thewisdom of Kabbalah. All three phases reveal the building of the Temples, including the third future Temple we have to build, not in the form of a grandiose structure in Jerusalem but by uniting the hearts of all of humanity. It isn’t about an ideological conquest and enslavement but about freedom and overcoming the enslavement of our ego.

This will bring all of humanity to the right mutual integral communication, and life will be felt as one body in which all the organs and cells are connected and function in the best possible way. This life is called eternal life and all of humanity should reach that because it actually makes up all the parts of this body.

The wisdom of Kabbalah emphasizes that we can reach this through crises that will push us to change, like the Islamic civilization that is wakening now that will demand the world’s submission by the sword in the name of Allah, or we could implement the good mutual connection between us instead of using weapons and coercion. Worshipping an upper entity, the idea of an upper force, is crucial for this cause but not in the way we know it. Bowing to the East, in the direction of Mecca will not change anything. We should rather bow to the unity of our hearts.

The Muslim Allah symbolizes the force of unity, the only force that operates in the world, and this is also how all of humanity should operate. This is the reason that Islam is awakening now, and it will provoke and enrage the whole world. The world will not discover the current Judaism by resisting Islam but the wisdom of Kabbalah, which will explain to the world the rule of “love thy friend as thyself,” which is the right global communication law for all mankind. Life by this rule will have to take over the whole world.

Neither the sword or the green and black flag, the nice symbols of the Islamic flag, nor the Star of David are the answer, but only the correct and good relations between people. If the integral connection in humanity is restored and becomes the general collective force, people will unite and attain the Creator between them.

Not only the wisdom of Kabbalah aims at the unity of mankind, but also Sufism, the internal wisdom of Islam. When humanity acts in a way that matches the upper force it will begin to feel that it merges with it and the corporeal world, that the wisdom of Kabbalah calls the virtual world, will gradually disappear from our senses and we will reach the third civilization.

Our true existence is only in the world of the upper forces. If you want to attain, sense, and find it, I invite you to become acquainted with the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Where Will I Go After Death?

Question: Is there heaven or hell after death according toKabbalah? If so, do you have any intention of getting there after your physical, corporeal death?

Answer: Hell is a state when a spiritually elevated person falls into egoism. This is called hell. A person burns with shame because of his egoism. This is the fire of hell and punishment.

And when, on the contrary, one rises to the property of love and bestowal, one feels that one is higher than this world. One experiences the state of eternity, perfection, and infinity. This state is called paradise, heaven.

We sense these two states—heaven or hell—during our spiritual ascents or descents back into this world. Only Kabbalists are able to feel both states. They are not at all connected with the corporeal life or death.

Our bodies are just animals that are given to us only to serve as the basis of our physical existence. Based on this framework, our spiritual advancement is possible.

The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks solely of our spiritual development. If we do not advance spiritually during our lifetime, we die as any other animal and that’s it for us.

There is no target of getting somewhere after our bodily death. After death nothing changes. But it is possible to attain the upper world during our lifetimes.

The purpose of Kabbalah is to achieve the sensation of heaven during our current lifetime. And then,our animal existence isn’t an obstacle. In other words, the body can die, but we are already in the upper world. This is exactly what needs to be done: develop our soul.

Each of us is given an animate body in this material realm. At the same time, we have a point, the embryo of the soul. If we develop this embryo, we begin sensing spiritual life through it. Then, the death of our body doesn’t matter! We start sensing the next level of universe in the subsequent dimension.

At the same time, if we don’t develop the point in the heart, nothing will happen after our physical death. The point in the heart, the embryo of the soul, will be born again in a new animal body, thus giving us another chance to advance with the help of Kabbalah.

How To Find Your Real Identity

Question: Does a person lose his or her individuality after death? Do we lose the originality inherent only to each of us?

Answer: The thing called originality in this world is an animal feature. It is absolutely useless and has no value for a spiritually advanced person.

One’s originality is revealed upon reaching unity with others, when we open our soulthrough the overall connection. Only a soul remains genuinely distinctive, whereas various earthly properties are temporary and disappear.

Question: What is so special about the soul?

Answer: It is unique because of the mysterious fact that it is similar to the Creator.

The soul is a desire that has a potential to transform itself and become similar to the Creator. And this similarity is in each individual soul.

Once Again About The Soul

Question: What is the soul and how is it born?

Answer: A soul is a certain space inside a human being in which one senses the upper world.

In an ordinary person living in this world, there isn’t a soul; there is only a point, an embryo, a drop of semen, from which develops the speaking level.

If one starts developing him or herself, submitting oneself to the Upper Light’sinfluence, the Light transforms the drop into a soul that develops from ourReshimo (spiritual informational record).

Question: Does a soul have a gender?

Answer: No. There are various modifications of the soul, but it doesn’t really matter. Each one of us has a soul. But at the same time, there is one common soul for everyone.

Question: How do we calculate the number of souls? Is it possible that is an excess of them?

Answer: What does “an excessive of souls” mean? The soul does not exist apart from a human being. If one develops it internally, then one has a soul. If not, one doesn’t have a soul. Each one of us is granted a chance to cultivate a soul and feel the next level of existence, the future world.

Question: What do souls do after death?

Answer: Souls do not die and have nothing to do with life or death of a physical body.

Kabbalah Is For The Family

Question: What is the meaning of life for a woman who has no family or kids? Could it be that she can find the meaning of life in fulfilling herself in society?

Answer: Today, most women hardly ask themselves that question. Having one child is the norm, and the family institution is becoming weaker because the rate of divorce in developed countries is now over 50%.

Today, we are less capable of sustaining a family and caring for children. At the same time, a woman still has the motherly instinct and the desire to have children, although, according to statistics, there aren’t that many. In addition, if the state ceased to encourage women to have children, there would be even fewer.

I believe that not more than 30% of the population have the desire to have children. The others have them automatically under the influence of social pressure guided by the assumption that, if everyone has kids and I don’t, it is time that I should get married also.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, a person must realize himself normally: to be a family man, have children, and care for his family. It is actually from this framework that he should grow spiritually as he learns the method of the right fulfillment of everything that he has been given in this world.

Question: Won’t the wisdom of Kabbalah lead to loneliness?

Answer: On the contrary, according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, a person must get married, have children, work and care for his family, and the Kabbalistic method teaches him how to sustain his family properly and to feel great pleasure and happiness in it for many years.

The wisdom of Kabbalah tells us about how the world develops and what is determined by nature, and how we need to fulfill, use, and manage everything correctly and not distort our life in any way.

The World To Come During This Life

Question: Why do I need to correct what the Creator created? I feel as if I am protesting against Him.

Answer: We must protest so that we will unite and connect between us in spite of our ego. This is like a puzzle that parents buy for a child and ask him to assemble the 50-100 pieces together.

These efforts develop the child because he must imagine how to connect the separate parts. So also all of us, if we connect ourselves into the right complete puzzle, will then see a picture between us called the “world to come, the upper world.”

Question: Is this world to come the same world that we reach after death?

Answer: The world to come we see during this life. The world to come is characterized as the approaching new one in which we attain a wonderful unity between everyone, “like one person with one heart,”  “and you shall love your friend as yourself.” Thanks to this connection, we begin to discover a completely new level between us.

We are changed internally so that we begin to feel that all of us are connected. Thanks to this, humanity is integrated and unified with all the rest of nature: the still, vegetative, and animate are also joined to humanity. And then a person begins to understand and feel the entire world such that he includes it within himself.

That is what each one begins to feel: I, you, he, and everyone. For all of us are integrated into a single force, a single desire, a single thought, and thanks to this, we reach a completely good world. We rise above life and death, above all problems and troubles, here and now in this world, as is written: “You will see your world in your lifetime” (Berachot 17a).

All of this is in our power; so come, let’s take advantage of this opportunity correctly. Let’s think about this; only through our connection and unity will there be salvation for us and for the entire world.

Who Is To Blame For The Sin Of Adam?

The discovery of evil is called the sin of Adam. But, this was in fact not a sin, for the Creator Himself says that He created the evil inclination. This means that Adam did not sin, rather he only discovered the sin, his evil, egoistic nature.

From the start we were created with a nature such as this so that we would have the opportunity to rise above it, and from this evil, become aware of the good, the Creator. It is impossible to discover this without that nature, “As the advantage of Light over Darkness,” (Kohelet Rabbah 2:13).

In the New Year (Rosh Hashanah) we celebrate the opportunity to rise up and attain the upper force, the Creator, to become Adam (Man), meaning the person who resembles Him. This is within the power of everyone, for Adam was simply the first who did it. As it is said, “for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them” (Jeremiah 31:33), and “…for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” (Isaiah 56:7). So Adam is an image that is relevant to all of humanity.

If during this holiday we make the right accounting of the past year, we clarify that we have still not attained correction and that we have not ascended with all of humanity to the peak of our existence, the spiritual world, the level of resembling the higher, eternal and perfect power. And for this we ask forgiveness, meaning we judge ourselves that we could have discovered our evil inclination and corrected it, rising above it and uniting between us, but we didn’t do it. So we ask in the beginning of the year that we be given the power that makes it possible to correct ourselves and reach the goal of creation.

Humanity Does Not Become More Sensible Over Time

In the News (scitation.aip.or): “Mathematicians from Cornell University developed a model that shows which type of thinking, intuitive or rational, typified humanity in different phases of its evolution.

“According to the study, there were times in human history when people who had a slow and rational thinking style ruled, and there were times when rulers were typified by quick and intuitive thinking. According to this mathematical model, it seems that people are not becoming more rational with time, but that rational thinking actually develops cyclically and can be compared to the four phases of economic activity (recession, depression, upsurge, prosperity). The domination of rationality depends on the amount of resources accessible to humanity.”

My Comment: Everything develops according to the four phases of direct Light, according to the four letters of the Creator’s name, “HaVaYaH,” the general and individual schema of the whole creation, of the whole world and every part in it. TheUpper Light has to go through the desire (phase zero), the four phases of its spreading (phase one) in order to prepare it and make it available to feel itself and to want to be like the Light itself (phase 2) ,and then to fulfill its desire (phases 3 and 4). Phases 1-4 develop under the influence of the Upper Light.

The Sixth Sense

Question: Is there any connection between Kabbalah and religion? Is Kabbalah a religion?

Answer: Kabbalah is not a religion; it is a science. Kabbalah is about the part of reality that is hidden from us but with which we have an opportunity to work, like in science. Therefore, Kabbalah is called a science.

Through special actions that we perform on ourselves, we can reveal our senses for perceiving a higher level. We have five corporeal senses—vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—through which we perceive this world, but in a very limited form. Yet we perceive it to some extent and live accordingly.

We cannot even imagine that in this world around us there are so many other phenomena because our senses do not reveal them in a manner similar to that we cannot see what happens far away without binoculars, or without a radar we don’t see what exists in the air except the sound waves that are in our voice diapason, and so on.

We have so many instruments that we created in order to broaden the range of our senses. But they can only expand them while the science of Kabbalah creates an additional sense, “the sixth sense,” through which we can reveal the rest of reality, which is hidden from us. Then we know what we live for and how to live correctly. This is precisely what a person needs to attain.

Question: What kind of additional sense is it?

Answer: This sense works like our corporeal senses, only our five senses act in the form of receiving, consuming, attracting within all the data that is outside. And this additional sense, which we develop through Kabbalah, operates according to the desire to give, bestow, and love.

We come outside of and rise above ourselves, and thus we are not limited by our body with its five senses. Our spiritual sense exists outside of our corporeal body. It is like we deploy this sense onto all of reality. Then we can perceive everything. In fact, this sense is the soul.

Meditation And Mirages

Question: I have heard that some people who meditate feel elevated and enlightened. They sense a whole gratefulness, which fills the entire world connected into whole one. What causes such a feeling within a person?

Answer: This sensation comes because people suppress their egoism with the help of the Eastern meditation and they start feeling one system. After all, they annulled their egoism, which was tearing this system into many parts. However, this is still not an elevation above the material world, above egoism.

They see the structure of reality, but they cannot govern it and exist inside it. This is only anticipation, a mirage, and a sensation of the wholeness of the world. In our world there are a lot of people who without any meditation feel that the nature is whole and everything is interconnected within it.

Scientists and all ordinary egoists come to the same conclusions. They also understand that the world is one system and therefore we have to protect animals, the ecology,  and follow the law of balance in nature. A person feels all of this in his ordinary egoistic desires and he does not demand to rise above his egoism.

The force that elevates one above his egoism is a completely different force. It can be attracted from nature only through unique exercises according to the method of Kabbalah. This force in reality gives us an opportunity to rise above our egoism and enter the next level of existence.

Don’t Correct, Unite!

Question: You say that we don’t need to correct anyone in order to unite, what does that mean? We have witnessed terrible atrocities by murderers and criminals lately. Don’t we have to correct these people?

Answer: No, we should only let such people understand that they need everyone else, and everyone should remain the way they are and should only have to connect and unite. If a person hates someone, he has to ascend above the feeling of hate and try not to remove it or get rid of it by killing others, since if he does so he doesn’t get rid of the hate, but rather intensifies it even more. It it is written: “love will cover all the sins.” Sins refer to the differences between us, which remain but which we cover by love.

See how nature works: minus and plus connect; molecules are formed and their combinations give birth to different creatures, protein bodies, etc. All the differences, the oppositeness and the contradictions between them remain, but they know how to connect correctly in order to complement one another. This is the whole secret.

We have to do the same on the human level, in our consciousness, and then our life will be wonderful. It is actually the connection between all of mankind who are so different from one another that the upper state is revealed. We will discover the future world, life according to the soul not according to our corporeal body, above our protein corporeal life. It is actually by our thoughts, desires, and our different attributes that the one body called the soul, which is one for all, is built when they complement each other in order to connect. Then everyone begins to feel the upper state, the upper world.
