Looking At The Creator Through A Magnifying Glass


Everything was created by the Light that operates within the desire to receive that was created as something from nothing.The desire grows thicker as the Light operates on it like yeast on dough.
The difference between the different phases of the desire—the root, the first, second, third and fourth phases—stems from the different levels of bestowal of the Light on the point of something from nothing that exists in the actual roots, until its attributes become totally opposite to the Light. This indicates that the Light has made it as thick as the last, fourth level.
Actually, all this thickness is created by the attributes of the Light that turn into their opposite form as it breaks inside by the point of something from nothing. The darkness is a replica of the Light. The darkness is actually the same Light, but its posterior.
This is why, in Aramaic, “night” is called “orta” (which resembles the word “ohr,” meaning light in Hebrew). At night, everything is the same as during the day. The only difference is that the basic point turns the Light, turning it into its opposite.
It is as if a magnifying glass breaks the rays and turns everything upside down. On one side, there is light, and, on the other side, there is darkness. This magnifying glass is the same point of something from nothing.
So, it turns out that there is nothing in Malchut that doesn’t exist in Keter, but only in the opposite form. This oppositeness is called something from nothing. The Creator has created a replica, an imprint of Himself, called “the created being,” Adam and Eve, a seal and its imprint, and so forth.
We must use everything there is in our desire to receive, but in an opposite manner, to turn it, to insert the “nothing” into it instead of the “something.” When we want to attain this oppositeness, we annul the natural ego in us and become similar to the Light once again.
All the forms of the desire come from the Light that has imprinted itself in the central point of the created being. However, these forms are opposite to it so that in this oppositeness, we will be able to attain the Creator

A Discussion Is A Prayer


Question: How can you check that you really understand the lesson from the point connection with the group?
Answer: A person reaches connection out of despair, when he despairs of all his actions and sees that they will lead to nothing, and that he must do something. He thinks about himself, about his entire life, about the efforts he has made in vain, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he only can attain the goal through the group.
The group is a spiritual structure and not the faces that you see around you. It is a spiritual force that is revealed in a very realistic manner, like some safe shelter. It is like a “flying saucer” that as I enter it, I have a chance to succeed and if I am not in it, I have no chance.
A person must understand this clearly in order to keep this thought. He should know that by staying in the group, which he sees as a collection of spiritual forces, he will undoubtedly reach a good result. The group enables him to breathe, and without it, he has no access to the oxygen hose.
However, a person only can reach this decision when he feels despair from his own powers. Our discussions and workshops enable us to reach this conclusion faster. However, what I hear are people speaking about what they have read and not from their hearts.
I give a short introduction, and then I ask a question about it. The question may be a continuation of what has been said; it can be in contrast to it or somehow related to what has been said. However, it is all done intentionally. The answer shouldn’t come from the mind, but from the point of connection that should be attained within the discussion circle.
Then, the answer will be the answer to our prayer. The discussion must turn into a prayer that we all want to clarify and, together, to find the answer. During the discussion, each of the ten friends says something, and thus we complete one another. Each one annuls himself before the others by raising them and respecting their opinion. Thus, we build our self-annulment and the attribute of bestowal that is above all of us.
The group is not a physical assembly, but it acquires a spiritual value. This is because the annulment of the ego and the desire to be incorporated in the friends is already a spiritual action. The topic of the discussion spurs us on to clarify our unity, the connection, and the work. All this turns into a prayer (MAN).
Within the connection in the group that we attain by this prayer, we must receive an answer (MAD). The answer to the prayer of many (MAD) is called the center of the group. We feel collective warmth, a collective feeling, the force that supports us to such an extent that we are scared to come out of there. I don’t want to come out of there. I want to remain inside this center and to grow there. This is the purpose of the workshop, which you have to try to attain with every 15-minute question discussion.

Recovering From The Ego With A Sanatorium Regime


Question: We condemn the ego as the source of all our problems, but actually what is wrong with worrying about yourself? After all it is our basic natural attribute?
Answer: We should understand that if you constantly worry only about your self-benefit, you are actually harming yourself and limiting yourself in succeeding.
Here hides the evil that a person should feel to its full depth. Indeed, there are people who what to “exit themselves,” their limitations. They aspire to “exit the body,” to expand their horizons and to see the world, “what is it for and why? What else is there outside this life?”
This urge isn’t typical of everyone, but today when the whole world is suffering we should explain to people that the only way to be saved from the troubles is to strongly tie yourself to the environment. If you don’t do that the relations in the family, the country, and the world are destroyed; no one enjoys anything and everyone suffers.
The main thing is that because of these corrupt relations we cannot even provide ourselves food. The food systems, the climate, everything is destroyed. It is the same in the family where the relations are corrupt and nothing works anymore.
Question: But why should I stop caring about my wellbeing because of all that? All the creatures in the world try to feel good and to take care of themselves. Is this basic desire the source of all our problems, for example, family problems?
Answer: Suppose things don’t work in the family. The refrigerator is half-empty, there is a pile of dirty clothes and everything has gone wrong. By the way, the same thing is happening in the world—the lack of good mutual relations destroys everything. One part of humanity throws tons of food in the garbage, and the other part is starving. Billions are wasted on health care, but we are all suffering from some illness.
Clearly, this cannot go on. Therefore, a married couple that is ready for change comes to our courses, and we explain to them that the concern one feels for himself should change to concern for others, and in this case to the spouse.
“Love covers all sins,” this principle is fulfilled egoistically. No one is asking a person to detach himself from his ego, but only to establish a new attitude above it towards what is on the outside, towards one’s spouse, towards other people, towards the world, towards nature, towards the environment, etc.
We must perceive the world as “round,” as integral, which means to start perceiving everything that is outside your ego as your own, like a mother taking care of her child, then you will feel good.
The whole idea is to use your ego correctly and wisely, not to get rid of it. A couple that wants to succeed egoistically continues to adhere to this. Only the approach changes: Considering what is going on in the world and in the family, there is only one method—to rise above your ego and to use it in the opposite direction. Examine your spouse like a mirror of your own attributes and accordingly operate the ego in the opposite manner. Then instead of the evil inclination, it will appear as the good inclination.
The main point here is to create an “incubator,” which means the right environment. No special efforts will be needed by a person if he lives in this “green house.” By its influence, the environment will raise the concern for others in his eyes and lead him in the right direction. Then this approach to life will become natural for him. In the same way a child readily accepts the morality of his group. Yes, there are difficulties: For example, married couples need “redesigning.” But these changes will be relatively easy and pleasant like recovering in a sanatorium.
Of course, a person must also participate in the process, in his feeling and understanding, of his own free will. His support is essential, he cannot just come and say “change me.” but one way or the other, he can certainly agree and nothing super-human is required of him.

Everything Is Attained By Connection


Question: How does our connection become the basis for the revelation of the spiritual levels?
Answer: Every level is a world that you feel, a world that is woven by the connection among all the souls. The first connection that has come from the world of Ein Sof (Infinity) gradually diminished until it was shattered and became totally detached in our world. Now, from this point, the ascent in the same levels of connection begins, and it is the only thing you have to reveal.
The “matter” of the souls is the desire to receive and the connection among them is the system we study about. The Ten Sefirot, the spiritual Partzufim, are all the essence of different methods of mutual connection of the souls between them.
On the whole, a whole body is thus formed as we rise to Malchut of Ein Sof, and all the connections are 100% bestowal without any obstacles and deficiencies. Then all the resistance in the transition among us disappears and the connection is immediately fulfilled in infinite speed. This is the state of Ein Sof.
The adhesion indicates a simple thing: What I have at a certain moment, you have too, and vice versa. This communication is unlimited. It isn’t confined to time and the resistance of the ego. The “resistor” among us disappears and our desires cooperate freely and to their full extent.
Question: How should it be expressed in the workshops?
Answer: Our adhesion during the workshops is an effort: We want to unite so strongly, as much as we can imagine, so that each one will lose his feeling of self and we will feel one desire, one thought, one whole. By these efforts, from the point of unity, we think about a solution to the question we were given by the teacher. The solution is within the connection.
Therefore, during the workshop we yearn to find the answer through the unity. Each time we search for a solution, we want to attain it by the unity, without using our logic. After all, we are not going to logically examine the words of the Kabbalists.
Without connection, there is no point in sitting in a circle. So what do we need it for? For an intellectual conversation or a scientific debate? No, the mission is given only in order to create a new quality. Then by feeling the collective quality, you find the solution.
The workshop is only meant to create a collective vessel that belongs to an upper level. We try to reach it as hard as we can, but if there is no solution, it means that we have not succeeded.
There is no point mentioning the connection while we are in the process, it has to be the goal from the beginning. Can we come to a workshop not in order to connect, and in this connection find the next level or at least find the solution to the question that leads to it?

A Priceless Sense Of Shame


Question: Suppose something happened to me and I feel such a sense of shame that I’m ready to disappear. What should I think of at this point? Should I think of the goal?
Answer: That doesn’t help. What does it mean, “I should think of” or not? You must be prepared in advance for all sorts of influences from the environment, books, friends, the group, and other things that are the effect of the common field on you so that you are reminded of the goal. That is, you set up an external “reminder” for yourself, otherwise you won’t remember. You begin to associate the goal with what happened to you. And that’s the main thing. It means that you already know that what happened was intentional and happened for a reason.
Where do I feel the pain and shame? In my egoism. So, I have to rise above it. Or conversely, let me stay with the feeling of shame because it directs me towards the goal. Then I’m ready to experience it all the time in myself so as to not forget about the goal, to be associated with it, and to move towards it. And let my sense of shame be stronger and stronger, so that I will move toward the goal and it will get closer and closer.
It’s here that we begin to deal with the re-evaluation of values, and thus rise. From now on what will dominate the movement, achievement, and attainment of higher states of love and bestowal above the feeling of egoism as evil and everything that’s in it is basically shame.
Question: Is the mechanism that you described suitable for the 99% of the population?
Answer: Not only for the 99%, but for everyone because the desire to receive is the only matter.

Building Material: Our Egoism


Question: There is concern that a person who is mentally included in the general integral system will stop applying regular physical effort, and it is possible to say that he will turn into an abstract slacker. Will there be place for linear human efforts in the integral world?
Answer: We were evolving throughout human history under the influence of the egoism developing in us. Egoism was going through various stages: physical egoism, food, sex, and family and egoism that directed us towards wealth, fame, power, and knowledge, but today, we have reached an impasse and need something higher.
The attracting force of the past egoistic development disappears; a person rushes to something, but where, it is unknown. That is why we have all these spiritual methods, techniques, manipulation, New Age, and the like. People are suddenly become attracted to religions again; truly, it seems “back and forth,” but in reality, it is a search that will pass quickly.
We enter into the integral. That is, now humanity will begin to understand that our next state is the creation of an integral society.
And what is wrong with our egoism?
Today, we have reached the line, and from here, we will start building an integral system or become like the integral system, nature, which is the same.
How do we do this? We do this with the egoism that grows in us.
What does it mean growing; we have said that it no longer grows?
It begins to grow so that you will transform it into integral. This is a completely different egoism, which will oppose and hinder your becoming integral. And on the basis of it, looking at it, you can change yourself because you will be able to see all the negative disturbances, this breaking in this mechanism, and how to correct it and become integral.
Why do we need this system?
We need it so that through all kinds of breakdowns, failures, suffering, various conflicts, the lack of understanding, and egoistic rejection of other people, my egoism dragged me away again.
Why do I need, on the basis of it, to try through my efforts to enter into the integral system with everyone?
Because then I obtain skills, learning like a pupil who does exercises. A pupil is given homework all the time; he should feel: correct or incorrect. The incorrect turns into the correct, it is said: “The experienced one is better than two inexperienced.” “The experienced one” is the one who realizes his transgressions, mistakes. That is, we are constantly analyzing our mistakes, but they are not our mistakes; thus, our egoistic nature is specially developed in us, not because we want this, but in order that we rise above it and create an integral community.
That is why egoism is growing, but this is an entirely different egoism, directed against the community.
This is another kind of work. If earlier I used egoism linearly and through it constantly advanced, developed egoistically, now I consciously, pushing against it, transform it into integral unity, connection with others. Today, it is building material for me; I build with its help.
Comment: So, for egoism to be manifested, do I have to interact with the world physically, do I have to be in this world?
Answer: Our world was created this way for this purpose because in it we can be simultaneously in egoistic and in higher qualities.

And What Would You Do In The King’s Palace?



Dr. Michael LaitmanIn order to bring a person to the attainment of the true reality that is outside the limits of his perception, understanding, and ordinary feelings, the Creator puts us through a gradual process of development. So we have the opportunity, while living in this world, to prepare ourselves for the perception of the true reality. If we prepare ourselves, then according to the plan of creation that operates on us, which brings us closer and closer to this true reality, we eventually discover it, which means that we attain the revelation of the Creator to His created beings.
But if we don’t prepare ourselves correctly and don’t use our life in order to correct our perception, but try to enjoy it directly in our ego, we feel pain as the Creator gets closer to us. Wherever we operate by using our ego, we feel the general global crisis and different problems in all the areas in life.
Wherever we use our ego, which is not ready for correction and for a change, we feel a crisis: in education, in culture, in the economy, in finance, in ecology, in the break up of the family, in terrorism, and in drug abuse. If we examine the painful points in the imaginary picture of our world and try to find out where the feeling of crisis and pain stems from, meaning the bitter taste of the refreshments on the King’s table, we see that all the bitterness stems from our growing ego.
Anywhere our ego (which was supposed to be corrected but was not prepared for this) is involved, we encounter a crisis and all the problems that are being revealed in the world now. So the conclusion is that we have to prepare ourselves with the help of all the opportunities we have.
If we work in the group, in the study and in dissemination seriously, using all the means that were given to us by the Creator, we will feel a good sweet taste by getting closer to the revelation of the Creator, and not bitterness. It all depends solely on our preparation, on the work that is seemingly our free will.
You were brought to the study, to the group and were given all the explanations as to what you should do; now decide! You are free to do whatever you see fit in the King’s palace, but if you forget that you came there in order to prepare yourself for the festive meal, you will feel an awful taste when it arrives, since you are not prepared for it. So everything is in your hands and it all depends on the preparation.

How Will The World Discover The Upper Force?


Question: Why is it so important that the 99% of the population, in any case, reach integral unity? Is it possible to say that if they unite, then they will receive a form in which it will be possible to transfer the inner force from the 1%?
Answer: Absolutely correct. If people exist within the egoistic breakage, then it is impossible to transfer anything to them. Furthermore, we need to not only transfer this energy to them, this knowledge, but to draw them into the same state.
This means that 1% of the 100% of humanity does this actively, in connection with the upper force, in disclosure of the upper force within them.
And 99% of the inhabitants on the earth do this in a more passive way, by building integral relations, under the new integral conditions: “How can we, “squares,” “ triangles,” “rectangles,” transform into circles in harmony with the new world, to the new demands.
When they think about this and receive education and learning from the 1%, then gradually they turn into integral people. They begin to understand, in a natural way, what this new world is, and they discover the same upper force that the 1% discovered. The upper force operates and is revealed to them through the 1% of humanity, which constitute its “conductor.”
It isn’t some kind of artificial system, essentially, the same thing happening in our world. If we look at our world and dissect it as a pyramid, then we would see that only 1% operates it, creates, and dares. All the rest are the receivers. They participate physically, but actually they use the profits obtained from above, and only add to this their “fertilizer,” their strength.

To Each His Own


Question: In the process of the workshops, the practical work on integral upbringing is being implemented. While these workshops are conducted not only for the 1% of the population who are working on the correction of themselves and the world, but also for the 99%. Both of these groups hold discussions in circles of ten people. What is the difference in this work for these two groups?
Answer: The difference is that in the circle of Kabbalists, the intention is directed towards unity among each other. They long to create a common desire in this unity, which would summon the emergence of the governing force of Nature that is hidden from us.
However, when regular people gather into a circle, they focus on the emergence of a common desire among them in which they would see the solution of their earthly problems.
They have no incentive for contact with the upper force, the inner force of Nature, which moves, controls everything, and leads it forward, but they also lack such a relationship, understanding, and aspiration for this. That is, they consider nature as simply, nature, and since we have arrived in our development at such a state, then now we should simply find how to further arrange ourselves in order for everything to be normal, that’s it.
These people discuss among themselves all of their material problems: the upbringing of children, family, work, the disparity in income, social security, health insurance, and how we can settle all of that. They establish government, international, or even worldwide roundtables, where all of that is gradually being discussed and clarified: how we see the solutions of these problems, based on our unity. This is what they should lead to.
As they participate in unity events, they will begin to change. By exchanging their impressions about unity and becoming more imbued with unity, they will go further, and through the force of unity, they will gradually change all of our past egoistic structures.
But the Kabbalists will work on the attraction of the upper force and the manifestation of it in their unity. It will show and reveal the hidden levels of the world, and as a result, they will see what to do and how to solve everything in this world. However, the most important point for them is for the upper force to evidently fill them, give them their new states of bestowal, love and mind, that, which it possesses.

Studying Nature: The Way To Solve Our Problems


Question: What exactly do you mean when you say that nature’s plan has changed? How can we explain to ordinary people what exactly has changed?
Answer: We must simply show a person some movies about the interconnection of the people in the world, so that he will have a clear picture of human connections on all levels—not on the scientific cultural levels, which are remote to ordinary people, but on the technological, industrial, and commercial levels—different forms of mutual guarantee.
First, we should show a person the need for connection on the level of basic necessities: He will not be able to take care of himself or his children if he is not well connected integrally with the world. If I depend on others, I have to be in good relations with others, if they feel good, I will feel good too. This means that we have to understand that there is no other way to exist.
So what’s the problem? Why can’t we exist the way we should? Why can’t we lower the exorbitant prices of goods, of transport, of connection? Why can’t we stop the allocation of half our budget to security if we are so closely connected? Why is health care so expensive that we have to sell extra pills? Why have we developed so many redundant and harmful things? Perhaps we have to shake off all this and reach a normal common denominator?!
We have to study nature, to focus all our efforts on that, and accordingly accept the laws of behavior of human society. We must spread the method of the integral society worldwide and thus gradually change our environment, so that it will influence every individual in society.
Our society has to be general, integral, and not divided by borders and nationalities, which actually don’t exist any more. It’s all only symbolic in the era of modern technology, with modern transportation etc. After all, whom do these borders protect, and who needs them? Who wants to conquer whom?! Today millions of immigrants move from place to place!
We have to arrange all this gradually and sensibly. Then in several decades, we will be able to build a totally egalitarian society. We have all the options, especially if we are free of all the unnecessary expenses.
We have to present this to people and gradually let them understand the importance and the need for our connection through TV series, theater plays, songs, teaching materials in schools, courses during work hours in different companies, etc. We have to take the social and the public relations work very seriously. This must simply be the obligation of every member in the group.
This obligation will of course be completed by the importance of the goal and publicity. All the important people and celebrities will have to show how involved and supportive they are by feeling that importance of facing nature’s call. It isn’t some political party or an individual who wants to climb to the top. No one intends to rule or to achieve anything, it’s simply us, the people on this planet who are facing this need.

The Task For The Next Six Months


Our main task over the next six months is to organize integral education and upbringing throughout the world, or at least, to begin the process of organization. At the beginning, it is essential for the developed countries of Europe and North America, not the developing countries of South America or China and all the Asian countries, namely for the developed countries that are already exposed to the global crisis. I think that in the near future, the crisis will be strongly manifested in Europe, and then will hit America like a boomerang.
As Europe is in crisis and everything there is in a deplorable state, then the dollar, as the funds are invested in the US economy, there is transferred some share of finance and the economy in general. That is why, the crisis is not demonstrated in the USA clearly; it is felt only by the fact that people live in debt, and positive interest might be seen. And when Europe ends this fall, this bubble will burst in the USA, and then it will be really bad.
By this time, we need not only to prepare people and the basic system of integral education and upbringing, but also widely disseminate information about it in the media, in society, and be prepared that then people will start listening to you.
Naturally, until then, human egoism is not ready to hear anything because it is much nicer to watch football than to listen to some courses and some transformation, development: where we have come to and why. While I can survive from today to tomorrow, I am not interested in your explanations. But when tomorrow I have neither football nor basic necessities, then it is a problem.
That is why we are preparing the basic system of integral education and upbringing.

Two Stages in the Work


Question: Why is it said that I do all the corrections in me?
Answer: I don’t correct myself, but only my attitude and connection. The evil inclination is not in me, but between me and others—in my attitude towards them.
I need to be in a connection with someone in order to figure out whether it is good or bad and requires a change. The first stage is in revealing that this network exists. From this moment onwards, I start moving forward further and further, consciously revealing what needs correction: which relationships and qualities are required now and which qualities will be required later.
So I gradually reveal the whole system of relations between me and others. But then I find out that it was actually a connection with the Creator. These are two stages in the work.
If I can confidently work without any reference to myself, I reveal that the Creator was hiding behind the neighbor. Until that point it isn’t clear, I can steal a little here and there, and do some egoistic calculations. The Creator helps me figure out which calculations are right, and therefore, appears to me in the form of friends or some other more tangible images with which I can mutually work.

A Fundamental Difference


Question: What’s the difference between the inner work of the 99% and the 1% of the population who have the aspiration to inner correction? What is the fundamental difference?
Answer: The difference is that the 99% of humanity lacks the opportunity to discover and realize the method of integral unificationon their own. However, the 1% consists only of those who have an inner drive toward it, who wish to learn this method and reveal the integral system. These people are our students, representatives of all nations and races that are literally on every continent of the world.
To the extent that they realize the method of integral unification, they begin to understand that they are facing a tremendous task: to teach it to the whole world. And by that we don’t mean just talking about it in some books or articles. We must be educators, enlighteners, lecturers, and organizers. No one except us will be able to do this because we attain this system, feel it, observe it, and see it; thus, we can bring people to it and build up all of human society accordingly.
If we start inventing some new world laws now, we would encounter horrible resistance from nature. We practically didn’t feel the resistance from nature before. The presentcrisis is only the “first fruit.” It is true that the US experienced an economic crisis in the 1920’s, but it wasn’t so extreme.
The fact is that we are beginning to experience a counter force from nature. Two opposite systems are in combat: the egoistic linear system and the integral, round system of nature. These are completely different systems. Therefore, we will experience enormous blows and misfortunes constantly. No matter how much more we invest in our egoistic development, we will just exhaust ourselves, our efforts, our resources, and our opportunities until we simply degrade to a primitive level; it’s possible that we will come to this.
In general, from nature’s point of view, whatever path we take to reach integration is irrelevant; the most important thing is that we become similar to it. If we are ready to integrate only externally while our egoism remains in a primitive state, then we will become cavemen once again. It goes without saying that instead of seven billion people on the planet only seven million or even less will remain, for example, but from the side of nature it doesn’t matter. Most importantly, the law of equivalence to nature, the congruence of systems, should be followed. This flows out of our Kabbalistic research, which allows us to see this whole system.
I hope that we will be able to explain this to people before they resort to wars and conflicts because they are feeling helpless and unable to do anything. It doesn’t matter how many G8 or G20 meetings are held and so on, these meetings just resemble a palace of reception and nothing more. And gradually it can lead to horrible consequences.
