Enter The Highest Management System

laitman_537Baal HaSulam, The Last Generation: To that we must add the matter of the immortality of the soul, the reward in the next world, glory of the individual, the glory of the nation.
First, the problem of a person’s relationship with the family, society, and people is very strong. If you do not pay attention to it, then you will be forced into it. We see how individualistic and nationalist movements suddenly begin in the so-called united Europe.
Second, with the help of Kabbalah, man reveals an eternal and perfect system that governs everything. He enters this system as if he enters a pilot’s cockpit where he starts to control and see where and why he is flying. And this flight is eternal.
On the other hand, a person cannot get out of this plane. That is why it is so important that he can fly it and understand where to go.
Question: What is the connection between the soul’s immortality, reward in the future world, and “glory of the individual, the glory of the nation”?
Answer: All this attracts a person.
That is, I put myself at the head of my development and the world depends on me. At the same time, I look like a savior and a leader inside my nation and mankind.
“I lead people to a brighter future.” This is how a person who practices Kabbalah feels because each of us performs that individual function that no one else can perform.
This state is connected to the immortality of people, the immortality of the soul, and the immortality of our existence. There is no death; there is only death of the animal body, which we need in order to reach the next level. We are given a certain timeframe to reach this level and to continue to exist in it.

The Law Of The World’s Management, Part 1

laitman_229All our reality is entirely subjected to law, and according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, is controlled by the only law of the upper force called nature. We also call this higher power the Creator because it indeed created the entire universe.
The nature of this force is to act solely for the benefit of its creations; that is, it is absolutely good. But if we don’t see it, this is only because we do not understand the Creator.
Kabbalists, that is, people investigating the upper nature, reveal its complete goodness. And even ordinary researchers of nature see that although everyone devours another one in it, it is all subject to special laws and ultimately benefits the general development of all created beings.
Modern science reveals that nature is global and integrated, and everything in it is absolutely interconnected. Nothing can come out of the framework of this integral system. Like in a healthy human body, all its cells and systems work in harmony preparing it for a higher goal that is above ordinary bodily existence. We find this law in all forms of nature and on all its levels.
It turns out that knowledge of these laws is the key to our successful existence. After all, if inanimate matter, plants, and animals act according to instincts, that is, they feel the orders of nature and perform them unconsciously, in humans, it is much more complicated.
We do not know how to act. Our instincts are not strong enough to guarantee our correct behavior while being guided only by them. And all this is because a human is a social being, and this is where all our difficulties emerge from. After all, in everything that relates to the social order, instincts no longer work. They are no longer regulated by nature.
Desires for food, sex, and family are more or less understandable and do not cause us problems. But in everything that concerns society, that is, in the desire for wealth, power, and knowledge, we are very much confused. Internal instincts do not tell us how to properly act in them.
Desires for food, sex, and family belong to the animal level, and therefore, we can rely on them in our natural instincts, which are also inherent as in all other animals.
But with respect to purely human desires, we have to find the right direction for our development; otherwise, both money and power, and knowledge turn out to be the cause of all our troubles. It is due to the profound development of our mind that we invent the weapons of our own destruction.
In all of his previous centuries old history, man developed instinctively, like an animal. Our egoism always pushed us forward and everything was quite simple. After all, development went in a natural way, step by step, from one formation to another: slavery, feudalism, capitalism, as egoism grew.
But today the time has come when our ego finished its development and ceased to be the engine of evolution. It seems to admit that it reached its top and there is nowhere else to go. Therefore, everything comes into the process of stagnation: science, production, young people not wanting to get married and have children. There is a general fatigue because inside a person feels that he does not have an answer to the main question: “What do I live for?”
After all, throughout all the past millennia we knew what direction we were developing toward and our egoism did not require more than possible. It had very real needs: a good family, a profession, children, and money and we developed according to these requirements. But today our desire to enjoy has stopped its linear growth, and that’s the problem.
In fact, this process began five hundred years ago, in the Ari’s time: the desire ceased to simply grow and it began to “wind up.” All parts of the desire relating to inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature have evolved to a certain level and must begin to unite in the correct form.
That is, now we need to get connected. If we connect correctly with each other, then we will achieve the property of bestowal, which is the property of the Creator, and therefore, we will reveal the common force of nature between us. This power is revealed precisely in the properly corrected connections between us.

Filling The Desires Of Others As If They Were My Own

laitman_559Comment: Many people believe that spirituality means meditations or something of that sort.
Answer: It isn’t meditation in your thoughts, but continuous work on your desires in order to perceive the desires of others and to work on them as if they were your own.
Question: What do you mean by feeling the desires of others like my own?
Answer: If you want something, for example, I take your desire and fill it and thus we unite into one integral system, then I resemble the Creator.
Question: But for this, must you know what the desire of other is ?
Answer: I want to feel others, but they don’t have to tell me what their desires are.
To the degree that I intend to do them good, I begin to feel the desires of others. I ascend above myself, cease to feel my desires, and begin to accurately feel the desires of others.
I take all their properties, intentions, and possibilities and I receive the filling from the Creator because I have the strength because I am in a spiritual state. Having filled this desire in myself, I separate it from myself and I give it to the person from whom I received the deficiency.
A person may not feel his spiritual desires, but I feel them and fill them, and thereby prepare him for a spiritual mission.
How do desires for spiritual attainment and the revelation of the world and the Creator emerge in our generation? Kabbalists prepared these desires for us and it doesn’t matter that there were only a few of them compared to the whole world. They did it.

A Place Is A Desire

laitman_275Question: How was the creation created and established?
Answer: When I was a student I was taught that the universe is eternal and that it has no beginning and no end, no dimensions and no time. This was a scientific point of view.
Then suddenly, at one point everything began to fall apart and scientists began to say that the universe is merely 14 billion years old. Physicists said that there was nothing before that and that we have to believe them. So what was there instead of the universe? Nothing. Was there some place? No, there wasn’t.
So where did it come from? Perhaps there was a vacuum and then the stars appeared? No, there was no vacuum either.
This is something that doesn’t make sense.
Question: And what does the wisdom of Kabbalah say?
Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah says the same thing. Scientists are getting closer in their views to the wisdom of Kabbalah because the ego has developed and is getting closer to it.
Question: So what was there before the creation—the desire to receive?
Answer: Before the appearance of the desire to receive there was only a desire to bestow, the Creator, Light.
The desire has no place. It is actually called the place itself. If I have a desire to eat now, for example, if you ruin this desire, I will feel that I have lost my appetite. Does the desire have a place or not?
If I have lost the desire, I will not be able to force myself to eat even if I am very hungry. This means that the desire is the place and not my empty stomach.
Question: Where is the desire?
Answer: Nowhere. I can check my stomach and say that it is empty. It wants to eat, but I am telling you if I don’t want anything, not even a small piece will enter my mouth! This means that in the corporeal world, you cannot point at a place that contains a desire.

What Fills The Creator?

laitman_239Question: What fills the Creator?
Answer: The Creator is filled with our empty desires. He has enough Light. He needs a desire, a request for fulfilment. For example, a little boy asks his mother and she gives to him. How does he give her pleasure? He pleases her by asking.
Question: Do I feel that the Creator is filled?
Answer: You feel that He enjoys your request.
Question: Isn’t the Creator just a system?
Answer: Yes, but this system reacts. It is a bilateral system: you affect it and it affects you with feedback. This is the same as cursing your computer when it gives you problems. You introduce elements of your character into it so much that you are ready to hit it. Why? It is because you are interacting with another object.
I am not even talking about the fact that a gardener speaks to the flowers and they answer him back because he feels them.

Canadian Anti-Semites

420.06
In the News (JTA): “Canada’s largest private sector labor union adopted a motion in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, or BDS.”
Question: The question is what Canadian trade unions have to do with this?
Answer: First, in Canada a huge part of the population is anti-Semitic. They are former immigrants from the Ukraine and France. A particularly strong anti-Semitic part is Quebec of French Canada. For many years it has been anti-Semitic, anti-American, and anti-Canadian, against English-speaking Canada.
Now they are actively opening their doors to Arab immigrants. By this they are creating a very unpleasant future for themselves: Canada will gradually turn into an Arab region.
The vast territory of Canada is home to only thirty million people, so the immigrants from Arab countries, Maghreb, etc., will happily settle there. All the more so, the immigrants from Africa will be drawn there.
So an unenviable future awaits Canada. Once it was a very attractive, decent country, especially for Jews. But it is all over now.
This, of course, was destined to end; everything ends for Jews because they have to fulfill their historic mission, and they are not. Therefore, they will not have a good life in any country, including the United States, Canada, and other states. They will gradually feel very serious pressures and troubles until they stop hating Kabbalah and realize that it is their salvation.
Question: Do you think that all the exits for Jews will practically close?
Answer: Absolutely all of them. Hatred of Israel on the part of all countries of the world will be enormous. We will try to keep up Israel so that it does not crumble and does not cease to exist, although it is also possible.
If we do not represent Israel as the source of the correction of humanity, there will be no meaning in its existence, and it will cease. And it will naturally be filled with neighboring peoples. It is not a problem.
Question: Don’t you think that Jews will still understand their mission and will begin to move toward it?
Answer: I do not see it yet. There is still some time left; we continue working on this, but it is possible that everything will turn out in a different way.
I will not tire of talking about this because there is no other way out. I am obliged to spread the science of correction among the masses all over the world through Jews. As far as possible, I will bring this to the point that I will be allowed to reach. But in principle, our situation is deteriorating from day to day because the Jewish people are still resisting the realization of their historic mission.

The Economy Of The Last Generation

Question: What is the economy of the last generation from Baal HaSulam’s point of view?
Answer: Let’s say, you need to provide absolutely all people with all necessities. You put together a list of about 20 to 30 of the most essential things a person needs starting with clothing, furniture, food, and ending with textbooks for children and all the rest. Take this list and see what you need.
This type of planned economy comes from necessity: “What, essentially, does a person need?” If a person is only concerned with thinking about inner spiritual connection with others and attains ever higher levels of spiritual states in this connection, then he requires all necessities for existence.
He needs to be provided with all the necessities because we are not living in the clouds, we are real people. A person needs to receive his calories, his clothing, his electricity, light, water, gas.
How are all these needs going to be fulfilled? For this to happen, there needs to be a planned economy. And in his work, a person must constantly think about being of maximum benefit to others.
Question: Is there a connection between the economy of the future and spiritual development?
Answer: Absolutely! The incentive changes.

And They Will Learn To Fear The Lord

laitman_749.01Torah, Deuteronomy, Vayelech, 31:12 – 31:13: Assemble the people: the men, the women, and the children, and your stranger in your cities, in order that they hear, and in order that they learn and fear the Lord, your God, and they will observe to do all the words of this Torah.
And their children who did not know ,will hear and learn to fear the Lord, your God, all the days that you live on the land, to which you are crossing the Jordan, to possess.
Fear before the Creator is what holds a person, especially during the forty-year journey through the desert. And in the land of Israel, the quality of fear moves to another level.
In the desert the fear was whether I would be able to refrain from using my egoism for my own sake, but in the land of Israel it is a completely different quality: whether I would be able to use my egoism for bestowal and love of others. An inversion in the use of egoism happens here.
Therefore, Moses warns the people; after all, this is not just very difficult to do, it is even hard to imagine how to do it. I cannot forbid myself to enjoy. Will I be able to allow myself to enjoy, and especially for the sake of the Creator? It is much easier to forbid.
Question: It is written, “Assemble the people: the men, the women, and the children, and your stranger in your cities.” What does that mean?
Answer: All of these are a person’s inner qualities. Let them listen to Moses’s warnings because each of them must undergo its own correction. Only after that can you enter the land of Israel and begin working with your desires “for the sake of bestowal.”

What Should I Do If Others Want To Use Me?

laitman_628.4Question: How can one recognize egoism correctly in relationships friend/stranger or when others want to use me?
Answer: If I want to achieve similarity to the Creator and advance to the next level of feeling the entire universe, nature, and creation, then it does not matter to me whether they want to use me or not.
I must assume a completely different concept: everything that exists in nature, including myself, is created and maintained by one single force—the Creator. I am not interested in what other people think or what and how is happening in the world. The Creator controls this.
Therefore, through everything that is written in the Kabbalistic instructions, I try to find connection with the Creator, to see Him and not other people, sources, desires, and thoughts in everything. All this is imaginary. In fact, none of this exists.

Understand The Meaning Of Life

Laitman_154Question: If a person will come to the Creator in any case, then why overload ourselves with reading endless books?
Answer: There is no need to overload yourself with anything. You just need to understand that a person acts according to his desire and there cannot be any coercion here. The wisdom of Kabbalah offers itself to people who feel the need for their own realization at the highest level. But for this, a person must have an inner desire.
I had a desire to reveal the meaning of life. I did not want to know anything apart from this. I understood that all the rest was invented by man, but the meaning of life should come from the highest level of nature, perhaps of reason.
Question: At what age did you start to feel this?
Answer: At the age of six or seven I had to know this. However, for me this was mixed with my interest in anthropology and cosmology, I wanted either to dig into the ground or to go into space beyond the Earth’s boundaries. Everything else—to be a builder, a doctor, an aircraft designer—was of little interest to me.
If a person has an aspiration to reveal the meaning of life, and only small number of people have this desire, then he begins to study Kabbalah. He must unearth this secret within himself. And not from point of view of religion in order to believe in something, but exactly in order to reveal.
In other words, there are hidden forces that need to be revealed. When we part this screen, we will see what stands behind the shell of our world. We must attain this absolutely clearly, without any imaginary thoughts and desires, only in our sensory organs.

Resistance To The Wisdom Of Kabbalah, Part 2

Laitman_060.01The wisdom of Kabbalah and Kabbalists have undergone special development throughout history because the desire to enjoy needs to grow and thus show that material progress is useless.
And every time, the wisdom of Kabbalah must adjust itself to coincide with those people in whom it is revealed, that is, with the people of Israel, the group founded by Abraham.
We see that the wisdom of Kabbalah was available for use by all people only for a limited time when it was revealed inside the people of Israel in the time of Moses. And this was accompanied by numerous arguments, clarifications, and wars within people.
Then, after entering the land of Israel—when Moses left the people and his pressure disappeared—the people of Israel began to descend from their spiritual height. At that time, religion and rules of behavior in the material world emerged, which copied spiritual Kabbalistic laws in matter. People began to create “idols” and “holy things” for themselves.
People went more and more into material traditions, and as it went, the wisdom of Kabbalah came out of it and disappeared. After the destruction of the Second Temple when people fell out of brotherly love into unfounded hatred, Kabbalah completely went into hiding.
One must understand that no one teaches love for one’s neighbor except the wisdom of Kabbalah. Although the principle “Love your neighbor as yourself” is the main rule of the Torah, the Torah itself—which is the wisdom of Kabbalah and the wisdom of Light—no longer exists in the people of Israel. It turned out that the people are in exile from the method of love and unity. The understanding of what the upper force is—the people of Israel, and their mission and development goal—has vanished.
Today, we are already in the very end of days of the genuine exile and on the verge of liberation. In each generation, Kabbalists were revealed that were suitable for that time or for the next generation. We need to understand that the actions of Kabbalists and resistance against them is a consequence of development.
Cruel forces rose against the wisdom of Kabbalah. But, there was a division between religious people. On one hand, there were Hasidim and, on the other, their opponents the Mitnagdim, and many other branches and movements. Kabbalists were also divided into those who were more concerned with the right line or the left, according to man’s nature.
Before the time of the Ari, Kabbalists followed the school of Ramak. Then, Ari’s method was popularized. The next important stage in the development of Kabbalah began with Baal HaSulam because there is a big difference between what was before and after him. Then, Rabash (Rav Baruch Ashlag) developed Kabbalah further. Baal HaSulam and Rabash prepared the method of Kabbalah for our generation.
Each time Kabbalah’s method improved and consequently, its opponents rose, rebelling against the new method, the “new Torah,” and the “new religion.” After all, people do not understand what Kabbalists’ actions are based on. It is very important to learn what claims are raised against Kabbalah to understand what to resist and how to turn these supposedly evil forces into good and useful ones. All this should help us realize the general process by which the Creator leads the created beings to bring their desire to complete correction.

Newsmax: “Paddock’s Motive Unknown But Motive for Violence Is Everywhere“

The largest portal Newsmax published my new article “Paddock’s Motive Unknown But Motive for Violence Is Everywhere
As expected, the Las Vegas massacre has refueled the gun control debate in America. But no one seems to consider a much wider debate to be had on the ongoing breeding of violence in the U.S.
“We still don’t have a clear motive or reason why,” says Undersheriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, about a week after the massacre. But it’s not just police detectives who are tenaciously looking for answers. It’s everyone.
The default answer that comes to mind is that Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old white male with no criminal record, was some sort of a psychopath. A madman. One of those deeply disturbed people whose senseless actions may never be fully understood.
But there’s a problem with that answer. It casts Paddock and everything about him as an outsider, detaches him from our social values, and rejects any association of his image with our culture. And by doing so, it prevents us from taking a good hard look in the mirror as a society.
Paddock could have very well been a psychopath, and some even suggestthe criminal genes of his father played a role. But Paddock was also a replica of the horrific scenario that repeats itself in America, over and over again. He managed to leave a painful scar in America’s collective memory as the deadliest mass shooter in U.S. history, but do we realize that there were six other mass shootings in America the very week before?
Broadening the Discussion
It’s frightful to discover that a mass shooting, defined as at least 4 people shot in a single incident, happens in America every 9 out of 10 days on average (!). More than 30,000 people die every year from gun-related incidents in the U.S. — more than HIV, malnutrition, and fires, to name a few. No other country in the developed world even comes close to these numbers. Moreover, sociologists from Yale University have shown gun violence to be a social epidemic that spreads over time.
But even more eye-opening is the fact that overall assault death rates — including but not limited to gun-use — reveal a similar picture: the U.S. is significantly and consistently more violent than other OECD countries since the 1960s. With this in mind, what we should be debating is a social epidemic of violence, of which guns are simply the loudest and most detrimental expression.
So instead of limiting the discussion to Paddock’s motive and the gun control debate, I believe Americans should expand the public discourse to ask the question: What keeps fueling America’s extremely high rates of violence?
Like Something Out of a Movie
Officer David Newton of the Las Vegas Police Department told CBS’ “60 Minutes” that breaking into Paddock’s hotel room and finding his body alongside his weapons arsenal was like something “out of a movie.” Newton, without noticing, pointed to one of the major variables that are usually left out of the equation that explains the extreme levels of violence in America — the countless visualizations of violence seen by the American people.
With television programs displaying 812 violent acts per hour, the typical American will watch 200,000 acts of violence, including 16,000 murders, before they turn 18. And this is just television. When you take a moment to consider the impact this has on our social climate, is it really so surprising that similar violent scenes are playing out in real life?
We are trapped in a vicious cycle that makes it easy to overlook its psychological consequences: Content producers are taking their violent scenes to greater extremes, giving audiences a bigger fix to keep them watching. At the same time, viewers are becoming increasingly desensitized to what they see. The result is a society whose attitudes and norms concerning violence are reaching a new low each time.
Gradually, we get used to the ongoing appearance of extremely violent acts and they become a “normal” part of everyday life.
Every couple of days, the same amount of people as in the Vegas shooting are intentionally killed by guns, but these killings don’t make the headlines. Every day, domestic violence takes the lives of nearly 3 women, but these deaths don’t break into the public’s awareness. It takes a mass shooting of hundreds of people at once from the 32nd floor to shock society.
Systematically Nurturing Common Humanity
So, regardless of where you stand on gun control, if we want to treat the violent tendencies in America from their root, we have to deal with something much deeper: the culture that breeds them.
The morning after the Las Vegas shooting, President Trump said: “We call upon the bonds of citizenship, the ties of community, and the comfort of our common humanity. Our unity cannot be shattered by evil. Our bonds cannot be broken by violence.”
Every sensible person would agree with this statement. But in order for its effect to last more than a day, we have to consistently work on our unity so that it is more powerful than our evil, which is the potential eruption of the human ego. And only if we regularly strengthen our bonds and our common humanity, then violence between us will rarely happen.
Social scientists have long established that we are all highly susceptible to the examples, norms, and values of our environment. We must open our eyes to this and cultivate a social climate that nurtures our common humanity on a daily basis. If we begin to do so systematically, we will surely see a much less violent America, and we could hope to prevent the next Paddock from happening.

What Is Wrong With My Soul?

laitman_628.2Question: What is wrong with my soul? Why should I correct it?
Answer: Let’s start by saying that you do not have a soul and that you must attain it. A soul is a part of the Creator.
When the egoistic desire, which we discover inside us, begins to work with love and bestowal, it becomes what we call a soul to the degree that it exits itself and resembles the Creator. But if a person does not have such an altruistic desire, he does not have a soul either.
Question: But there is the concept of a corporeal soul?
Answer: This is merely a force of vitality that keeps our physical body alive. We have nothing but that. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, a soul means our resemblance to the Creator.

Society Of The Future: From Internal To External Changes

laitman_600.02Question: You talk about the need for the internal transformation of a person. Do we also need practical changes in society?
After all, we can continue spiritual work in the groups while living in a capitalistic society where everyone has his own property and there is a trade. Why do we need to move to a new framework?
Answer: You do not need to move on purpose, but you yourself will want to move.
A person is arranged in such a way, and we see this throughout history that everything we change within us is somehow also reflected outside of us. We build the world around us according to our inner states.
We move from internal changes to external ones. Thus, everything happens automatically, we do not need to do anything here. Therefore, Baal HaSulam warns not to introduce any forceful methods.
Only one single relatively forceful method is allowed: when we force society to study. We force children to study exactly the same way.

What Does Love Begin With?

laitman_947Question: What is absolute love and why isn’t it possible even in relationships between parents and children?
Answer: The fact is that there is no love in our world in the strict sense of this word.
In Kabbalah, love means a state where I give everything to another person and exist within him with all my expectations, leaving nothing inside of me. My heart is empty, my mind is empty, my strengths are empty, and I give everything to others. This is called “love.” There is no such thing in our world.
In other words, in our egoistic qualities with which we were born and exist blissfully to this day there is no such opportunity because egoism works absolutely differently. It does not matter how we twist it, it will still turn around and do everything the way it is good for it.
Even if we give something to others and wish them well, it is only because we get some benefit from it and for this it is worth to wish for good or do something good for others. Thus, there is no love. Just complete egoism.
Love begins with the fact that we try to work with each other in a group, trying to tune in to correct relationships as if we want to bestow, share, and selflessly pass something from ourselves to others in our ten. Yet, we cannot. Then it becomes clear to us that we lack the force of bestowal, the force of love.
In this case, the need arises to find, reveal, recognize, and receive it. Initially, there is a quality of bestowal and love in nature—the quality of the Creator. It means that we need to receive some of this force from the Creator.
Therefore, when we try to treat each other correctly with bestowal and love in the ten, we see that we cannot do this. Then we all begin to demand from the Creator: “Give us the force of bestowal, of love, and of the correct relationships with each other. You must correct us. You must help us.” And we receive this force.
Thus the Creator reveals between us—the quality of bestowal and love. It is really possible to do this. Our laboratory is our ten, where we constantly discuss everything together, make decisions, act, invite this positive force upon ourselves, and implement it.
Comment: You always say that the Creator is revealed in the relationships between people.
Answer: Only in the ten, in the correct association of people among themselves, and in the correct connection between them. This is not simple. This is work according to the clear methodolgy over a long time.

Resistance To The Wisdom Of Kabbalah, Part 1

laitman_259.01We see that humanity develops under the influence of two forces: support and opposition, pros and cons, driving force and resisting force. It is natural for any development that there is expansion and contraction all the time, like inhale and exhale.
At any given moment, these two forces act because the right development is impossible without a balance between them.
Kabbalah and Kabbalists develop according to their generation. Sparks emerge in the broken vessel of the soul. These sparks are ready to resurface from the fragments of the soul, and they demand correction.
People in whom such sparks awaken feel the need to reveal the purpose of creation, the upper force, the Creator, and to learn about the universe. They seek to rise above ordinary life so as not to remain within their broken desires but to live just for the sake of the spiritual sparks.
Although these sparks are broken, a person feels that they need to be revived. Therefore, there are many forces inside a Kabbalist: sparks, spiritual genes (Reshimot), and desires related to correction, that is, the properties of bestowal.
This process began with the first man Adam. And then more and more people, from those who felt the need to discover and comprehend the purpose of creation and to belong to the upper power and the upper system, joined him in each generation. So, from Adam descended the entire line of Kabbalists who developed the method of revealing the Creator to the created beings in this world.
Kabbalists were those created beings who revealed the upper force. And since spiritual sparks and desires awakened in many people, Kabbalists also spread the wisdom of Kabbalah, which evoked different reactions.
And even a simple study of Kabbalah awakens two opposing forces in a person: the desire for and against the revelation of the Creator. After all, a man is a broken desire to enjoy, an egoist, and inside of him is a spark that demands a gateway to another dimension, to another level—the intention to bestow.
This spark refers to a different life, a different world. Therefore, a Kabbalist has two inner worlds: sometimes he is dominated by the force of bestowal and sometimes by the force of reception. He always goes through ups and downs as two of these opposing forces constantly work in him: sparks and broken desires demand their realization. In this way a Kabbalist develops, sometimes in the right and sometimes in the left line.
The same rule applies to a person and his environment. Abraham, the first Kabbalist who began spreading Kabbalah to the masses, met with strong resistance from his father Terah and his entire former school, as well as from the ruler of Ancient Babylon, Nimrod. The resistance was so strong that he had to leave Babylon.
Resisting Kabbalah is natural, because nothing develops without it. We see in the example of the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels of nature that the whole evolution happens as a result of struggle, and it couldn’t have been otherwise.
Therefore, Kabbalists are patient toward Kabbalah’s opponents because they realize that they receive them from above and that it is the Creator who organizes all these protesting forces. But at the same time, as representatives of the force of spiritual development, they need to resist material and egoistic development.
Opponents of Kabbalah fight it in every possible way, but Kabbalists understand that all this resistance is arranged by the Creator who controls these forces, and therefore, the answer to it must be appropriate. In the end, we need to act for one purpose only: to reveal the Creator to the created beings in this world, which is the goal of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Kabbalah is revealed for this very purpose and it is impossible for one to unfold without the other, as progress and resistance are based on each other.
Therefore, one must treat Kabbalah’s opponents rationally, realizing that from the moment the Light created darkness, that is, when the altruistic desire created the egoistic desire, these desires were opposite to each other, but they must develop together. After all, the Light also develops when it enters the creation, organizes it, and builds up more and more diverse connections in it.
Therefore, one must treat all criticism creatively, with understanding. And although the opponents of Kabbalah brought many misfortunes to Kabbalists, on the other hand, all these forces act according to the program of creation.

On The Threshold Of A “Post-Egoistic” Era

laitman_928Humanity wants to know where it is and what it lives for, what the secret of life is, and what will be after it? Where do we come from when we are born into this world? Where do we go after we die? Do we exist only as animals who do not feel anything other than our own biological, material existence?
The latest developments in physics, chemistry, biology, and especially quantum mechanics are revealing new forms of existence; we are beginning to uncover more levels of complexity that our world possesses. Our world apparently consists of many dimensions, one inside the other, and contains a multitude of lifeforms, some as yet unknown to us.
We live in a minuscule fragment of reality, and it is very possible that this reality is not even real but is only generated in our very limited consciousness. It only seems to us as if we exist in physical bodies, in a large world, in a tremendous universe, but in essence, all this is but a representation within our minds. Quantum physics is already finding evidence for this.
This type of understanding is principally important in determining the way we relate to life. Just look at how powerfully religion changes a person’s world-view, when he believes that he lives in this world with the possibility to continue life after death in some other world.
A particular world-view can completely overturn ideas about life, leading to wars and conflicts, dividing and uniting people. This is the most important question because it brings meaning to our biological lives in this world and to that which is beyond this life’s limits as they appear to us.
That’s why it is very important to come to a correct perception of reality. And here we collide with resistance from the side of religion and other forms of faith-based practices, with the indecisiveness of people and with the sciences.
This subject is hushed and covered up; it is not pleasant to talk about it. Because, if we speak of this in the open, there will be resistance, it will completely turn upside-down the philosophy of life for people, it will change the way people relate to their existence and the meaning of life. And this is not an easy thing.
As yet, science has only just begun to guess at this and scientists are starting to speak about it a little. It is very good if people find out that our world is actually structured in an extraordinarily complex fashion and is just one of many worlds, that we can change ourselves and move from world to world, and all that is needed is to change our perception, our sensory organs.
When we move from one potential level and rise to another, we lose contact with this material life. We begin to perceive life completely differently: not limited by some hundred years, but endless in time and space, above all limitations.
If this evidence appeared in all sources of mass media, it would attract many to the study of the science of Kabbalah, because it is specifically Kabbalah that opens to each person the possibility of traveling between worlds.
The era of egoistic control is over. People have changed and already egoism cannot control them. Egoistic programming exhausted itself, and little by little we began to be liberated from the totalitarian control of the ego, from our consumerist attitude toward nature. And that’s why we feel ourselves less limited and we begin to sense and guess that there is something higher than our egoistic perception of the world.
I am very hopeful that ultimately we will reveal the truth. And then all will change: religion, faith-based practices, and the way people relate to life.
