Can Anyone Study Kabbalah?

Question: I would like to register for courses at the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Education Center, but what I heard on your lesson on Israeli television confuses and perplexes me; I realized that I don’t understand anything. This wisdom seems too complicated for me. Would registering for the course be appropriate for me?

Answer: I constantly repeat that Kabbalah is a wisdom that must be studied. It is impossible to explain this profound, rich, and ancient wisdom in a few words; half of the concepts are in the upper world, from where all the forces and bestowal descend into our lives.

And what is relevant to this world is also not understood until you know what is happening in the upper world; so you cannot explain from where some phenomenon suddenly appears. Since you don’t see the upper roots, you don’t understand how the phenomena are projected from there onto our world by the forces that descend from above.

When you begin to study the wisdom of Kabbalah, which speaks about the general nature of a person, about his inner essence, we attain ourselves, the world that surrounds us, and the interaction between them. We begin to understand how we influence the world, and how the world influences us. We grasp life more deeply, its flow, our inner desires and motivations. This helps a person to balance his life, to  look correctly at what is happening, and to understand the reason for his deeds and reactions to various events.

The wisdom of Kabbalah includes everything within it. There is no area that it doesn’t encompass. It can give an answer to every question: Why are we impressed by some music? Why is our language specifically constructed this way? Why is our body built specifically in this way, with hands and feet? Why do we organize a particular environment for ourselves and think that it is comfortable for us?

All of this can be revealed through the wisdom of Kabbalah because it begins from the beginning of creation, from the creation of desire. And then this desire developed and penetrated into our world, which is what we call the “Big Bang,” as a result of which our universe appeared and expanded.

Kabbalah begins from nothing, from the beginning of creation, and carries through all of human development, including our universe, together with the Earth that is contained within it and all of its history until the present day. And it doesn’t stop with this, but leads us on to the final purpose of creation.

When a person sees this entire process, he is able to manage the process and his entire life. He sees the complete perspective, all the way from beginning to end, and so he becomes an Adam (Man) and not a little child, which is what he is today, not understanding what is happening with him and only trying to escape the blows of fate.

Comment: Anyone who faces a great number of problems could be helped if the wisdom of Kabbalah could explain how to relate to them correctly.

Answer: In principle, each of us must find the answers to his questions himself. You must become a Kabbalist, reveal the upper world, see the system of management of our world, and if you have questions, you immediately will find the answers.

For example, a little child looks at a car and asks: “Why does this car have wheels? Why do they go around?” etc. When he gets older, he becomes familiar with the entire system, knows how a car is built, and he can answer any question that arises about it.

Thus, you will no longer be tied to your teacher, and you will begin to answer every question for yourself as you completely master our world from beginning to end, from its birth and after its end.

The Modern Woman And Kabbalah

Question: I heard that studying Kabbalah is forbidden for men who are under 40 and that it is totally forbidden for women. How can that be?

Answer: Baal HaSulam answers this question in great detail in theIntroduction to The Study of the Ten Sefirot. He says that there are no limitations, neither for men nor for women. There are no age or gender limitations.

There were women who were great Kabbalists throughout our history such as Sarah, Leah, and Miriam, compared to whom the men were like small children. There were many women who left their mark on history in their spiritual ascent.

There were women Kabbalists who were on the level of prophets. A prophet is a spiritual level on which a person connects with the Creator in a totally revealed matter. There were such women to whom others, including the, wise, elderly and experienced would come for advice regarding their spiritual ascent. This means that they were above the men!

Question: In modern times, women also study the wisdom of Kabbalah as well as aspire to reach high posts in the world of business and government. Does that mean that the men are not managing their role, and therefore women develop in this direction?

Answer: Yes, it indicates that we are nearing the end of the world. I am not saying this in a derogatory sense. It is a state in which men totally lose the desire to manage our world while this desire is ignited in women, which is a sign that our world basically has reached its ultimate state.

Answer: From the management system of our world. Nothing is coincidental.

Question: Can we create heaven on earth, a place where everyone will enjoy?

Answer: Let’s build it. I don’t object. However, in order to do so, we need to change our nature from an egoistic one to an altruistic one. We will not be able to change ourselves, to change from receiving to bestowal, without the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: Will everyone attain the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: Absolutely everyone. It isn’t a simple wisdom, but it gives you a constant feeling of revelation, attainment, and inspiration. It is a Godly wisdom since the Creator, God, is the upper nature that includes everything. The attainment of the Creator gives a person the greatest pleasure. The wisdom of Kabbalah is the basis for everything, including your happy life.

Question: How do you solve personal conflicts with people?

Answer: I know that many don’t agree with me, but I am always willing to listen to anyone. I see that people don’t understand me and this arouses a feeling of hostility and rejection in them.

A Straight Road For Us And The Entire World

Question: What forced the children of Israel to receive the Torah at Mt. Sinai?

Answer: It was the troubles, the problems, and the sufferings. What else can be an incentive if you are within your egoistic desire?

However, there are different sufferings: those that come from the world around you and those that you evoke internally. One way or the other, we cannot advance without troubles, and the question is only whether they are sent to you externally or if you evoke them internally by studying, in thoughts, in understanding and recognition. As it is written: “Who is wise? One who sees the future.” If you act by yourself, it is sufficient to develop by the path of “I will hasten it,” without waiting for troubles to push you forward. They also force us to hasten time, but there is a great difference.

If I am wise, I advance straight toward the goal. If I am not, I stop on the way, and then troubles make me move. I escape them, and then I go straight to the goal anyway. However, by that, I prolong the path. Instead of taking the short, easy way, I follow the long, hard way.

One way or another, I eventually reach the same thing. So, to help me choose the short way from the start, I must listen to Kabbalists who tell us about the method of correction. My success depends on whether I listen to them or not.

Question: How can we hear them and pass on this message to the people of Israel?

Answer: There must be a recognition of the greatness of the group, the teacher, and theCreator in order to make the goal seem important to you. As for the people of Israel, everything depends on us.

We are the ones who have freewill. We can sharpen our senses through working in the group and by the efforts we must make. We know what it is about so we hear what we are told while others cannot hear it yet.

They have to receive it from us. They will be able to join us passively after we disseminate the message.

Question: How will they see the straight road, the red line in the drawing?

Answer: They will follow us. We will advance with them as Galgalta ve Eynaim (GE) andAHP. After all, we can advance by only a few steps along the red line to the extent that we acquire the system.

At every stage, we must fulfill it before we rise to the next level. Therefore, it is impossible to advance without the vessels of AHP. We simply don’t understand how dependent we are on them.

AHP is all the “nations of the world” and Israel is only Galgalta ve Eynaim (GE), the first nine vessels of bestowal that come from the Creator: Keter, Hochma, and GAR of Bina. On the whole, the vessels of GAR are part of Godliness from above, although this part isshattered.

In Israel, there is nothing, and they cannot advance and cannot arrange the connection with the Creator without the vessels of receiving, those that should be corrected and brought to adhesion. However, they cannot do that by themselves, so the shattering occurred, and, as a result, the vessels of Israel and of the “nations of the world” were mixed and incorporated.

Now, there is part of AHP above and part of GE below. This allows them to arrange the connection between them, which otherwise would be impossible.

It first happened during the destruction of the First Temple (at the level of Mochin de Haya) when the ten tribes were dispersed among the nations and disappeared. The second time the connection was established was during the destruction of the Second Temple (at the level of Mochin de Neshama) when the two tribes that were left dispersed.

The first time, we lost the parts that belong to real AHP. It was a descent from the level of Hochma to the level of Bina. In the second case, the two tribes didn’t disappear; they only were in exile.

Eventually, thanks to the mixing, a connection was formed, an incorporation of GE andAHP, and now we can begin to “feel” these strings. The vessels of GE that fell into AHPbecame religions.

The same happened in the Israeli nation: AHP that rose to GE was expressed in Judaism. In other words, instead of spirituality, a person imagines corporeality, and instead of “love thy friend as thyself,” he performs different physical actions, not internally in his desire, but externally in matter. However, eventually, thanks to the incorporation, we can be corrected.

About Martial Arts

Question: Many of your students are involved with sports, they have titles and awards. And I have heard that you also continue to be involved with sports. How do you relate to sports and what are its roots in the spiritual world, especially the martial arts?

Answer: Sports in general are beneficial to some extent. I will tell you what I think about the martial arts. A real fighter who masters these skills overcomes the natural fear, which is present within every person because each one of us is an egoist. By acquiring the art of hand-to-hand combat, a person feels that he cannot be afraid of anything, and therefore he is ready to open himself, his heart, to be gracious, friendly, and sympathetic towards others since he is not afraid of anything. He protects himself, his ego. Through martial arts he acquires a shield so he has no need for a sword. This condition is called the “power of kindness.”

So when used correctly, all martial arts are noble. If our nature weren’t egoistic, then there would be no need to calm down the ego or a need for martial arts. But in spite of that, our ego is our only nature and we don’t have anything else. So by making a “screen” over our ego, by calming it down with the help of martial arts, we can be open towards others, and therefore, as strange as it may sound, the control and dignity of the martial arts leads to goodness and unity.

Work For Practical Revelation Of The Creator

If a person is looking for a way to connect himself to the King, to appear before Him, he is sent this opportunity. We are honored to carry out such dissemination to the broad masses that we find the need to make contact with the Creator, feeling our dependence on Him.

The whole world feels dependent on something that is not clear. Every day there is a growing sense of helplessness and uncertainty of what will happen tomorrow. But we have chosen spiritual development as the goal of our life and deserve the opportunity to perform material actions toward this. This work brings us to the conclusion about our own powerlessness in relation to the goal.

We understand that we need the Creator, His help. We lack motivation, the importance of the goal, persistence, and stability in advancement toward it, and ask why we do this and who needs it. All this forces us to seek connection with the Creator, to ask for help, and to connect all our success with Him.

The more efforts we make, the more precious the goal in which we have invested so much becomes and the more we need the Creator. And he who does not want to invest a lot of effort does not appreciate the goal much, and therefore does not need the Creator much. It turns out that the physical contribution to dissemination, to the work with the public, is the means that brings us closer to the Creator because due to it, we increasingly feel our dependence on Him.

We can develop this feeling of our dependence on the upper force in the group at the workshops. And if we are lazy in this, the Creator will have to add some problems, suffering. Suddenly, there are enemies, ill-wishers, and we will feel more dependent on the Creator.

It is here where the cut between the path of suffering and the path of the Light lies. If we try to cling to the Creator when life is good, we advance by the path of the Light. And if we forget and are a little bit lazy, then we immediately see how we become less successful and have more and more enemies. The Creator corrects us in this way, as if aiming a missile at the target, correcting its trajectory right and left, and returning it to the right course. Thus, we have to keep moving in order to reach the goal. The entire process will be revealed in this work.

It is good that every time we come to a company, prison, school, organize lectures, workshops, and round tables, we feel tired and lacking any force, any motivation. And then we have the need to turn to the Creator again! Thus, we are constantly being renewed. This forces us to be renewed. And those who do not do this do not feel the need to turn to the Creator; there is no reason for it.

Thus we raise a prayer for help, MAN, because we see that the Creator must be at the beginning of all our actions. And just in order to please Him, I go on every mission. In every action I need to see myself performing this mission and the people I meet as the representatives of the Creator. The Creator sent them to me so that through contact with these people I reveal the Creator in practice, between us, in the connection of broken vessels.

In the end, we must come to the state when we cancel our ego; it remains below and we connect above it, as it is said: “Love covers all transgressions.” We reach the love for the Creator through the love for the created beings; one is the Light and the other is the vessel. Thus we will advance.

It is said: “He who sits at home is not like the one standing in front of the King.” If we are ready to go out of our home and to stand before the King, then go out to disseminate. And then every second we have the opportunity to contact the Creator and the need, the necessity for this contact, because otherwise we cannot make any effort.

We just need to understand that our weakness is a special angel who takes away our power to force us to turn to the Creator. There is no forgetfulness; all these are the special forces specifically working with us. Nothing happens by chance just like that. There is no accident!

Animal Soul Or Spirit

Question: What is the animal soul? What is spirit?

Answer: The animal soul is the life-giving force that animates our bodies as well as the body of any other animal.

These are desires in which there is a small fraction of the Light that animates them. However, they need no screen, no restriction, no correspondence between the desire and the Light. Indeed, these desires are so microscopic that the Light can be in them in a very weak illumination. That is why matter exists.

The spirit is the same animal animating soul that exists in all the still, vegetative, and animate elements of creation. That is, it is still the desire and still the Light.

All people have desire, and the Light that supports this desire nourishes it a little and exists in it even contrary to the first restriction (Tzimtzum Aleph). This is the animal soul or spirit.

125 Degrees

Question: What are the 125 degrees actually?

Answer: Your whole desire to receive is divided into 125 degrees of thickness: how cruel and tough you can be on the zero level that is hardly revealed, like a mosquito, up to a wild beast on the level of minus Ein Sof (Infinity).

These are the 125 degrees that we count from our state up to the world of Ein Sof. 5 worlds times 5 Partzufim times 5 Sefirot, this is how the Ha-Va-Ya-H is divided.

We have to correct this whole desire to receive. It wakes up at another part of the 125 degrees each time by being added to you, and you have to correct it. Therefore, you constantly feel a growing darkness and you correct it, and from this darkness you attain the “dressing of Hassadim” where you discover the Light. The darkness is the same Light but without the dressing of Hassadim.

First, in the world of Ein Sof the Light doesn’t need the dressing of Hassadim. But later after Malchut of Ein Sof decides that it receives only in order to bestow, the Light disappears and illuminates, which means that it is awakened in the vessel, (since it actually doesn’t disappear at all, but we only say that it does), only in the dressing ofHassadim. To the extent of the dressing, you receive the Light. It is as if you have a certain lamp and according to its strength you discover the power of the Light that you receive.

Protected By The Mother’s Safe Shield

Question: What is the spreading of the attributes of Bina downward, which helps the lower one?

Answer: Bina spreads downward and changes our attributes by enabling us to feel the Light of Hassadim, bestowal. The influence ofBina provides a person with protection, a shield, like a mother who protects her child. When a baby is in his mother’s arms, no one can harm him thanks to her Light of Hassadim that scares away the forces of impurity, the shells (Klipot.)

Egoistic forces retreat before the Light of Hassadim (Mercy); they are afraid of the mother. After all, she shines with the Light of bestowal that is totally opposite to them, and they cannot understand it and be next to it.

Try to stop a person on the street and tell him that he must love others. Can you imagine the negative response you would encounter because this is most hateful and repulsive thing for a person? Thus, Bina protects us.

Can you see how the spiritual world guards itself from us, the egoists? If you really want spirituality, please, come and bestow! But if you want to receive spirituality, these two things don’t go together. Spirituality is bestowal.

So, until we are ready, it protects itself from us with a shield. We cannot even get near the spiritual world because it repels us like the two poles on a magnet.

Why should I get near something like that if there is no benefit in it, only losses? How can I get close to something that means death for my ego?

So, by spreading in the lower Partzuf, the mother (Ima) covers all its vessels, thus ensuring that they will remain in holiness. The intention of “in order to receive” cannot be evoked in such a place when the mother protects us this way.

Then, the mother’s beauty is revealed, Hochma, and it becomes attractive, like a woman, a bride, a sister. However, this is when Hochma is revealed within Bina. Bina, itself, isn’t attractive; it only provides protection.

Evolution And Divine Providence

Question: How can we reconcile evolution and Divine Providence?

Answer: Everything agrees in the universe. Everything is controlled, except the freedom of will, in order to accelerate our progress to the extent of our awareness of the laws of the Creator and to follow them voluntarily in spite of our egoism. We are created similar to the Creator, and then in our world we found ourselves opposed to Him.

And to the extent of our voluntary aspiration to become similar to Him, that is, in the property of bestowal and love, in spite of our egoism, we reveal the upper world—the space filled with the revealed force of bestowal and love, the Creator. But all this takes place according to the laws of the four stages of development of the direct Light.

Hence, there are four fundamental constants that build our world. Their numerical values ​​are based on the ratio of the Light and desire and determine the entire structure of the world: atoms, planets, stars, and life on Earth. All the natural systems are the result of the balance of the four interactions:

- the power of gravity tends to compress

- the electromagnetic force creates internal pressure

- the force released in nuclear processes

- the force of the strong and weak nuclear interactions.

The structure of any system depends on the interaction of these forces, that is, on the numerical values ​​of fundamental constants; a very small change in them would have made the existence of the world impossible. It is absolutely unbelievable that such an incredible match could be the result of chance.

To survive, a human being requires special conditions, and any changes of the numerical values of the fundamental constants would rule out the existence of life.

Thus, in his spiritual progress, a person must follow the rules of the relations of Light and desire, and then, they will reach their unity, and a person will feel the manifestation of life in their unity (similarity). Thus, in the four-stages (alphabetic) of the distribution of the Light (the Name of the Creator), physics, evolution, and upper governance agree.
