From The Giving Of The Torah To The Giver Of The Torah

Shamati (I Heard) No. 161, “The Matter of the Giving of the Torah”: Concerning the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai: It does not mean that the Torah was given then and that now it is not. Rather, the giving of the Torah is an eternal thing—the Creator always gives. However, we are unfit to receive. But then, on Mount Sinai, we were the receivers of the Torah. And the only merit that we had then was that we were as “one man in one heart.” This means that we all had but one thought—the reception of the Torah.

However, from the Creator’s perspective, He always gives, as it is written…, “Man must hear the ten commandments on Mount Sinai every day.”

This means that the Torah is being given to us now and always has been, but then we were like one man with one heart. That is why we could receive the Torah, but now we cannot because we are separated. Once we become united, the giving will take place again.

The ten commandments received from the Creator are always before the person, and there is always the possibility to use the Light called the Torah for benefit or detriment. The correct work and yearning to achieve a more advanced state attract theSurrounding Light to us. This is called studying the Torah: aspiring to learn what is written in it, to feel what it says about us, about our states, and our qualities. I have to feel them when I am studying and become similar to them.

I want to enter this picture that talks about me and begin to live there, to let this story that I am reading now be realized inside me. These are the efforts we have to put forth, to wish to become adults. If we accept these conditions and use them correctly, this means that we have made the efforts, as it is written: “I labored and I found.”

Then, my reality changes because my desire changes. It begins to build itself from the Surrounding Light and perceives in itself the image of the Giver of the Torah, the image of the Creator. The Light corrects my desire, and thus I start realizing the property of bestowal; I come from the giving of the Torah to the receiving of the Torah and from there, to the Giver of the Torah.

No One Will Help Us But Us!

In our days, there is no big difference between working in the group and all of humanity, individual and collective work since a common network has become revealed. In the past, groups of Kabbalists worked in hiding, separated from everyone else. They did not show themselves because it was forbidden to reveal Kabbalah and explain its purpose before the actual network of common connections becomes revealed and the need for a method of correction arises.

This is why Kabbalists kept quiet. But since the moment this network started revealing itself, the situation has become cardinally opposite, and we must divulge this wisdom.

Kabbalists predicted this even before this network became revealed to the world. Almost one hundred years ago, Baal HaSulam started telling the world about the need to reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah. He thought that the world should prepare ahead of time for the revelation of connections to avoid going through wars and suffering we have experienced in the past century.

Humanity experienced more killings and suffering in the twentieth century than in the entire history of humankind. And of course it was possible to go through all these corrections in a different form. But so far, the corrections the upper one performs remain within Him, and we do not know about them or see them with our own eyes. We do not have the means to see the corrections we have attained at the cost of such great suffering.

Even though this was a correction, but its form was undesirable since it donned on us under the pressure from Above and against our own desire. In Kabbalah this relationship is called “Achor Be Achor” (back to back). But we need to come to a complete agreement and turn “face to face” with one another (Panim Be Panim).

After all, one way or another, we always advance, but it happens in an undesired way. But now, after Kabbalah has come out into light, humanity can prepare itself for the revelation of the network that connects us through an integrated, global upbringing and mutual guarantee, that is, through the proper connection between us.

And when we prepare for this revelation, we will welcome it as good, and we will perceive it as a common field blessed by the Creator, and not as a life full of danger and threats. Everything only depends on our vessel, which must precede the Light.

You will feel that this field of mutual connections is blessed by the Creator because you yourself will want to bless it! You will think that every new revelation benefits you because it brings you closer to general bestowal, mutual guarantee!

Whatever happened needed to happen. We neither erred nor made wrong moves—everything happened according to the Creator’s desire that became revealed this way. We should not regret anything in the past, even the most painful events that are very difficult to accept: “There is none else beside Him.”

But from today on, we need to see that everything depends on us, and “no one will help us but us!”

Aspire To Reveal Perfection

Question: Do you or your teacher or any Kabbalist thinks perhaps it is wiser and easier to wipe out this creation and somehow construct a new and better one that is closer to and can humbly live in nature? One way or the other, this world, as it is, is going to an end through bloodshed and destruction.

Perhaps, Hitler was on the right path of a new human creation, but the benchmark and means to that end were obviously inhumane. Yet when was the breaking of human civilization through the next level ever humane?

Is there really hope for this species to survive, facing uncontrollable natural disasters, famine, financial crisis, mental and physical disease, broken relationships, and the lots of ego maniac manifestations dressing up as “democracy”? It is hell on Earth and no one is giving an inch to love another as himself. Wipe out for new creation—is it not a realistic hope for the next level?

Answer: When you reveal the entire map of creation, you will discover that everything was created perfect and for our good. And meanwhile, aspire to this revelation constantly!

Break The Idols In Yourself

Our work is to imagine precisely what the upper force is. And we will have to do many discernments on this path. At first, a person imagines the upper force as a multitude of different forces, godly images, and deifies different natural phenomena he that discovers around himself. A person attributes human qualities to them because that’s the only example he has, and endows different images with the divine power, which is called idol worshiping.

That is an important stage of our development because we exist in our egoistic desire with an inverted perception of reality, sensation and analysis. This way, we scrutinize upper qualities to the point of reaching the correct perception.

An example of that is our forefather Abraham who was initially selling idols. In fact, his story tells us about ourselves. All of us begin our path from worshiping different forces of nature and considering them either good or evil, or partially good or evil. We attribute them to certain people, our surroundings, a blind fate, or various incidents.

All our life cycles are filled with these discernments until the point in the heart awakens in us. But even having it already, we still have to discern numerous definitions that draw us closer to the first perception of spirituality.

We still don’t know what the spiritual reality or who the Creator are. But on our path to this discernment, we are prone to the influence of the environment that can turn us the other way, mislead, or confuse because we don’t feel the Creator yet and can’t hold onto Him.

In the end, we reach a state, when all our multiple assents, descents, and confusions somehow get resolved, accumulate, and combine, and we divide reality into two parts: I, one who feels, and that what I feel. There is nothing else besides it!

But I sense myself as being either in egoism, reception, or in bestowal—there is no third option. Existing in egoism, I relate everything only to myself and my world, and this defines my state. But if I exist in the quality of bestowal, it fills me with something called the Creator (Bo-reh)—”come and see.”

I constantly perform clarifications between these two qualities. Finally, I come to a conclusion that everything comes from the Creator who plays with me either by concealing Himself or by giving me exercises so that I build in myself finer and more precise definitions of who He is.

Essentially, this constitutes our entire work.

Becoming The Center Of Good

We must reveal a place in the heart and mind for genuine concern. All other concerns must become compulsory for me. I live in this world and tend to its matters out of necessity, but my true and sacred concern is about what’s truly important. After all, I am human and wish to achieve something. Something is precious to me in life, besides money and daily problems. This is something we must assign far greater importance than all the other twists and turns of life.

I can work, shop, and attend pleasant or unpleasant events. It doesn’t matter what I do, as long as in my heart and mind there is a place where I want to ascend. And if there is such a place, I must connect my friends to this inescapable concern. When we think about and support one another, that is what a group is. Everyone is concerned so that the others have the same thoughts, the same cares. I want them to care for the most important thing, and then I will care about it as well.

Our mutual care is to build a spiritual vessel, the right desire, to raise a prayer for correction. When it amasses a sufficient quantitative and qualitative intensity, then in this network that has stretched between us, we will reveal that which we wish to attain—the upper reality—and acquire strength, health, security, and prosperity….

Indeed, today the Jewish nation relies more on a miracle than a firm foundation. And all the while we have a special vessel, thanks to which we can drive away all hardships and troubles, and all the haters. We and only we have the keys to the success and good life for all. This is precisely why the whole world and our neighbors won’t leave us alone.

We were given an opportunity, and only if we achieve mutual guarantee will our unity become a global center of good. So let’s make it happen together, by caring for each other with joy.

You Won’t Believe What Kind Of Group This Is

Question: What do you do if you feel that you’re not giving enough to the group, as though you’ve exhausted your strength?

Answer: Indeed, strength does run out, decreasing with every moment. And it’s good when you feel that your strength is running out. Typically we don’t even realize it is happening, but simply relax and fall asleep, losing our desire. And it’s only because we don’t care about our awakening. We must help one another since that is the only way to wake up!

If you don’t invest in others so that they care about you, you will not receive the strength. And it doesn’t matter what level the environment is at or what they do. The key is for you to start acting and investing in them, and you will see the result. You won’t even believe how much this group and the friends can give to you. Everything depends on the investment of the individual and his sensitivity.

And if you invest in the group, you will suddenly discover that they have also awakened and are acting toward you. Even if you hadn’t noticed it before, you will now, thanks to your investment. And this is called the mutual guarantee.

The Whole World Unites Around Toronto

Question: What is the best way for us to use the Toronto Conventionthat is coming up in order to bring us to the level of mutual guarantee?

Answer: I hope that I will come to Toronto where we will discern things together, study, have discussions, and participate in all kinds of events simultaneously with all of our students around the whole world, who will also take part in everything. Then we really will be able to make the jump onto the next level in our dissemination.

I very much hope that all of our friends from America will finally connect with us and will come to the convention. We have to understand that our good future is already very close, and now everything depends on how we accelerate the time.

Whoever Is Integral Will Come Out On Top

Question: Do people have any choice left once they’ve heard the explanation of the laws of the integral world?

Answer: No, because these laws do not depend on us. Imagine a fictional scenario where an alien ship is approaching us and is warning us in advance that by the time it reaches us, we have to reach mutual guarantee. And whoever does not is “doomed.” That is exactly how the laws of nature operate: They suddenly become revealed to us and force us to become aware of what is happening.

Nature’s condition is invariable. We have reached the phase of the single system, whose law is the interconnection of all the parts. This is the mutual guarantee, or in other words, mutual support, the proper participation in the common life, mutual understanding and respect, friendship. You can put it any way you like. Say it warmly and pleasantly, but don’t forget to inform people of the fact that this is an invariable law and there is nowhere to run from it.

Today and tomorrow depend on our explanations. The need for mutual guarantee will not disappear. It will only increase from one day to the next and will require us to realize it. The common system will become increasingly more closed and fused together, theinterconnection will become tighter, and the transfer of information via communication lines between us will gain more power, pressure, and intensity.

We will become more aware of these processes and whoever understands and recognizes them will come out on top. In any part of the word, in any society, in manufacturing and trade, in children’s upbringing, and in any other area, success will come to those who are able to use this integral system correctly, who become integral on the inside. These people will gain the right approach and the right calculation, will draw up agreements the right way, and will succeed in everything by virtue of having an inner copy or mold of the external system.

Today we lack this correspondence, which is why we are in crisis: I am an egoist on the inside, while the system is already being revealed to me as united, as all-inclusive. As a result, I cannot treat anyone or anything correctly.

Thus, nature places us before an inevitable necessity. However, when we explain it to people, it is nevertheless better to soften this harsh message. Our task is not to take a person’s freedom away or to tie his hands, but to wrap him in warmth despite the inevitable changes.

The process changes fundamentally if we bring ourselves into similarity with the system. Imagine that the nation tries to attain mutual guarantee, mutual empathy. This will give us an enormous desire to help people. They are like children, and even though their pleas are not turned to us, we will be imbued by their desire, which we won’t be able to satisfy. It will tear us apart on the inside like birth pangs, and that is how we will evoke a tremendous force in order to conduct it to others. And then, the Creator will become revealed—for us and for them.

It doesn’t matter that they still don’t feel that this is Him. At the initial stages, this does not appear as the upper force but as an understanding of things and forces that operate in the world, the expression of the universal interconnection and mutual interaction. The air will suddenly become thicker and a person will acquire the general understanding, a common sensation together with others, unity without words.

And that is already a revelation because a person acquires a new mind, a new feeling. He opens up a new perception and suddenly notices things that did not exist for him before.

We are standing at the threshold, and this is a very exciting period. I am very anxious because this has never before happened in history, but today we are being obligated to do it. I am waiting for you to finally attain what you desire. This is a chance for the whole world: Today we can already accelerate and reduce the entire process. Let us hope that we will achieve success.

Until this time we did not advance by our own mind or our own correct decisions, but with the help of the upper force. And still, we have been brought to this. And that is very important.

A Prayer Is A Desire For Connection

Question: If the Creator is my inner property, then who do I raise my prayer to?

Answer: You are raising it to that perfect property which you need to reach. To pray means to desire to obtain some connection with something you want to become closer to. A prayer is a desire, a need for connection, as it is said: “I desire!”

The connection can be external, meaning from a distance, or it can be close and more internal, to the extent that there is no difference between us. In either case this is connection. There is nothing else in our reality besides being further or closer to something. I want to distance myself from something bad and be closer to something good, to the extent that I become included in him or he becomes included in me.

The way that we feel our connection depends upon the spiritual degrees where we exist. If we sense the upper degree, then it is a more inner connection, where the AHP of the upper one exists in the GE of the lower one. If we sense the lower degree, we enter its inner part and act there.

However, there is nothing other than drawing further away or closer. My entire prayer and all desires are about this: to either become closer to something or distance myself from it.

A Question On Religious Practices And Kabbalah

Question: Many of us belong to a religious group in addition to Bnei Baruch and attend church services regularly; and some of us even teach Sunday School or Bible Studies at the church we go to. Perhaps it’s being generous to say so, but it seems the vast majority of the people who associate themselves with a religion are indeed searching for answers to life’s questions.

Is it a worthy task to introduce the Kabbalistic method of Baal HaSulam into the Bible study curriculum of the Western religious institutions? And if so, what is the correct approach?

Answer: Religion exists due to the concealment of the Creator, while Kabbalah is the method of His revelation in the corrected desires of man. Therefore, religion and Kabbalah have opposite purposes. As soon as the Creator becomes revealed, there is no place for religion.

The Bitterness Of Inequality

Question: How can we explain to people the true meaning of social justice?

Answer: Along with the external demands, people feel deep inside the bitterness of inequality, of social and national injustice, of various differences. A person values himself not for who he is, but in comparison with others. Never before have we lived as well as today, but when we look at each other, we feel bad.

Of course, there are people who truly live “from paycheck to paycheck,” and their living standards should be immediately raised to the minimal level. However, all the other imbalances need to be fulfilled primarily by way of mutual unification.

No “just distribution” will help here: It will only aggravate conflicts. Any addition to someone would raise rumors and criticism, discontent and resentment. Try to increase salaries in one of the sectors, and it will be hated. Even if this is not done at my expense, and even if I am not supposed to get more, I am still wondering why the money was given to them and not to me.

In what case will I be happy for a person who was given a raise? Only if I am connected to him by the ties of love. So, first, I should be taught the right attitude so that I consider him. For starters, before we even reach mutual guarantee, we need to understand that we completely depend on each other.
