Where Is The Creator Attained?

95Question: How can you justify the Creator in any situation? I cannot deceive myself, especially when I am angry or feel a lack of fulfillment.

Answer: If a person who had absolutely nothing to do with the Creator before begins to feel His presence precisely in suffering, in contradictions, in the properties and actions opposite to the Creator, then this is the justification of the Creator.

Question: Where is His presence felt? In this world, I see, hear, and understand you through my material senses. And where is the Creator understood?

Answer: This is the next sense organ, which is not associated with material sensory organs. He is above them and is their root. What we sense in our senses and mind comes from a higher level. Therefore, it is called faith above reason.

Question: In these roots one can hear the Creator and see the Creator. Are these different types of comprehension?

Answer: Of course seeing and hearing are different types of comprehension. We see this also in the prophets. There are those of them who speak with the Creator, and there are those who see the Creator: “I have heard” or “I have seen.”

Question: It is clear that this is all an allegory because the Creator is all nature. Then how can we talk to Him?

Answer: It depends on the level of the comprehension of the Creator. Therefore, a person who is at a certain stage says: “I heard. I saw. I heard a voice. I had a vision.”

Question: And yet, what is it: nature, the universe, all forces?

Answer: This is comprehension of the next informational level of nature, which is above our five material senses.

One God—Unity And Love

243.07Remark: There are some movies that show an extraterrestrial alien invasion and all the people on Earth uniting. The sense of mutual guarantee appears.

But even now, when the coronavirus dominates the entire Earth, we see that it does not unite people but divides them.

My Comment: We have come to a state where nothing will help us unite except realizing that only connection will raise us above our nature, above ourselves. We must achieve this.

Remark: If there was one God for everyone, then everyone would walk under Him, believe in Him, it would be good.

Answer: But it is not so, and it will not happen. There is no such God.

There is only one God, if we accept Him as God, and that is mutual connection, unity, and love. These qualities can bring us closer together and unite us. It can be called the highest property that exists in nature. That is what we need.

The Creator And Me

laitman_744Question: If there is none else beside Him, who manages the dialogue within me? Is the Creator speaking with Himself when we ask Him for something, are angry at Him, and thank Him? Is He the one who feels what is happening with a person and turns toward Himself? And is the “self” that follows and watches everything also the Creator? So why is it not said that there is none else beside me?
Answer: You are right about that. There is none else beside you and only to the degree that the Creator is discovered by you will you discover that there is none else beside Him.
Question: Does the Creator push the person away? And if He does, why?
Answer: It is to teach the person to “walk,” just like we teach a little child.

New Life #525 – Understanding The Law Of Life

New Life #525 – Understanding The Law Of Life
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Summary
Suppose we arrive in a strange country and without knowing the laws there, we encounter many problems. So are we really in a network that runs the legality of world forces. We don’t know it, and thus we suffer.
The Book of Zohar tells about this law and enables us to enjoy life in our world. We suddenly begin to understand that life is going to be increasingly more difficult because we don’t know this law.
Then we will begin to adapt ourselves to the world and the world seems to become adapted to us in return. The moment we improve our egoistic qualities, the world will seem like a different world, a corrected world.
When we change our approach from receiving to giving, to uniting, to bestowal, and even to love, it opens up the world for us. The sages who discovered this a long time ago couldn’t tell us about it until today because we weren’t ready to digest it. We depict the reality that we experience.
We will not be able to change our life for the better if we continue to operate from within our egoism. Therefore we only destroy the world more and more from one year to the next. We need to change our approach, and in order to bring about a positive change, we first have to learn the law according to which the world is managed.

The Creator’s Trial

Every person in this world complains about his life, and of course everyone is right to some degree and perhaps completely. After all, he isn’t the one who puts himself in troubles, his nature, his lack of understanding, and his inability to see the future, in an unpredictable world. So how can we blame a person?
If we look at the fate of every individual and at the way he behaves, we will discover that each of us was born, lives, and dies forcibly. And one’s actions are determined by our set circumstances and attributes, not by our will. So in all things, a person is not free.
And in this case, there is nothing we can demand of him!
But here the true culprit responsible for everything that happens is revealed, the one who has created everything and is also ready to be blamed and judged. Because in the Creator’s trial, with all our accusations and complaints, we will discover His attitude toward us, the reason He created us so small on purpose, and why we are punished by ourselves and by nature. We will learn the purpose of our creation and our fate, why we are born, live, and die in great pain. Eventually we will begin to understand that all our complaints are to our Creator, and it is actually He whom we want to put on trial!
The only wisdom in the world that can help us is the wisdom of Kabbalah. It clarifies the problem of the mutual relations between a person and the Creator and so it is the main wisdom in the world because there is nothing more important for a person than the clarification of these mutual relations, and actually nothing but that really matters. The reason is simply that there is nothing other than that in nature! The Creator does everything, but is a person is ready to forgive and then to thank Him for what He does to him in order to bring him to the complete state?

New Life #520 – Me, God, And The Love Of Others

New Life #520 – Me, God, And The Love Of Others
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Your attitude to the world is egoistic and exploitative. If you change your attitude tolove of others, you will resemble God.
Summary
The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us that everything we see around us is the reflection of our internal attributes.
A person who begins to feel as if everything that is external to him is himself, actually unites with God. God wants to teach you to love, through every incident, through every person who treats you badly. A wise student is a person who learns from the Creator how to treat everyone with love, just like He treats us.
To pray in the spiritual sense is to ask for the force of the Light to come and change me and improve me.
Anyone who treats you badly merely displays your negative attributes to you. The Creator treats you with the utmost love even now, but your attributes turn the picture into a bad one. The goal is to enable you to develop above the level of an angel or beast, to be a man, Adam, who is similar to God.

New Life #516 – The Wisdom Of Kabbalah: God And I, Part 2

New Life #516 – God And I, Part B
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe
Everything we feel is not necessarily true and there is no guarantee that it is the same on the outside. If we had different attributes, we would feel a different reality.
Summary
There may be whole worlds we don’t perceive around us. It is the same with regard to God; if we perceive Him, we perceive Him only in our own attributes.
A dog can feel according to his sense of smell and a snake feels according to heat and cold. If we want to feel the world like they do, we need a similar sense. This means that everything is perceived according to our senses and our attributes.
The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us which attributes we should build inside us in order to feel God. The attributes of the upper force are good and benevolent, bestowal, love, and giving—ready to give everything to everyone. We on the other hand, have an opposite nature, we incessantly want to receive from everyone and we want to receive something new at every given moment.
This is the reason that God and we are not on the same frequency, in the same world. God develops us so that we will discover Him. He is the one force that manages and organizes everything in reality and He develops us until we want to discover Him.
Nothing exists but God and me, but I don’t have the sense to feel that at the moment. When a strong passion to discover God awakens in me, He leads me to the wisdom of Kabbalah.
I have to tell myself in every situation that there is none else besides Him so that I will be able to hold on to something. Only He is before me. And what if I feel angry at Him? He doesn’t mind… as long as I relate to Him.
At any given moment in life, I have to try and discern two things: that there is none else besides Him and that He is good and benevolent. If you feel that He does you harm, it is because your attributes are evil. After all, only good stems from Him. It is like parents who want to develop their child, and buy him educational activities, but he refuses to study.
I have to build the attribute of bestowal that is just like His inside me, and then I will feel that there is none else besides Him and that He is good and benevolent. The whole world is like an envelope that is presented to me as I perceive it only in order to enable me to upgrade my attributes. I recommend that you forget what I have said here so as not to get confused, and listen to the whole program.
To sum up, find a teacher and a group that engages in the wisdom of Kabbalah and learn how to adjust yourself to God.

We Must Come Out Of The Aquarium

Question: Why do I need to explore everything with regard to myself in the upper world while we don’t have to do so in this world?
Answer: This is because you exist in a different form in the new reality. In our world, you receive everything into your body; you feel the reality in your senses, and therefore you see this room, the walls, the windows, the table, and me.
How do you know that it all exists? It is depicted this way to you by your senses.
The perception of the true reality is revealed only in the upper world. In our world, you are limited and live in an aquarium my dear friend! You are locked inside yourself saying that you don’t need other senses except the ones that you have in your fish body. Those are enough in order to feel this corporeal life, and you don’t need anything more than that.
You don’t believe that beyond the walls of the aquarium there is a different world, and you are not trying to explore beyond the walls. However, I already have such a desire, which is the beginning of a higher level of desires. These are the same five types of perceptions, but they are on the next level. You perceive everything on your level in the desire to receive, while I develop my perception in the desire to bestow.
Comment: But I use objective measuring tools without involving my subjective feelings.
Answer: That’s what you think, but you are mistaken.
Comment: But being inside the aquarium, I cannot understand my limitations and my influence on the picture that is depicted to me.
Answer: You can. Modern science speaks about this because it has attained the limits of this world. Einstein was the first to speak about the relative perception of our world, followed by the physicist Hugh Everett and other scientists.
The moment we understand that everything is relative, we already have a problem. Everything being relative means that we have no way of measuring anything in an accurate objective way. Each time we have to add the statement that the observation is with respect to the observer who is in a certain frame of reference and in certain conditions. In that case, nothing is absolute and there are no objective facts.
Question: How does the theory of relativity help us discover new horizons?
Answer: Although Einstein’s theory was revolutionary, it is still limited since it refers only to the limitations of our perception and not beyond. It is impossible to exit the boundaries of corporeal perception by a corporeal scientific approach.
Einstein managed to reach this boundary, but didn’t manage to cross it, although he tried. We see that his attitude towards the Creator was like that towards an upper mind, an upper force, and an upper desire and thought. He believed it was very important, since it was clear to him that there is something beyond the limits of the corporeal reality that we feel.
But the only way to enter this upper reality is by special development of the initial desire of this point inside the fish that pulls it beyond the limits of the aquarium. There is a special technique of developing this point, and when it becomes a real desire, a person begins to work with it by drawing on new forces that exist outside the aquarium.
He draws these forces towards him, using everything he has in order to discover and start feeling them, to reach bilateral contact and mutual cooperation with them. Thus he attains a new life.
People who have already attained the upper perception throughout history help a person in order to spare him from wandering in the dark. They leave us their writings and their impressions on which the wisdom of Kabbalah is based. By studying the Kabbalistic sources, we awaken ourselves in the right direction and eventually also attain the revelations of the new perception and feeling of the new world.
This is the real world, since it is independent of our limited corporeal perception. We have to come out of the aquarium!

The Creator’s Acting Mind

The Creator is the authentic acting force in reality. On our path we attain the Creator, His plan, His work, and thereby become “the Creator’s workers,” meaning that we participate in this work ourselves as His partners.

For this to happen His mind needs to be revealed to us. After all, in the end we rise to the highest degree of the entire creation, to its program and thepurpose that forestalls it.

“The end of an action is in its initial thought.” We reach the point in the Creator’s mind from which He started the work in which He thought of creation. Everything originates from this tiny point; it is the acting, creating mind which we acquire.

Don’t Be A Donkey At The King’s Feast

Posted on May 5th, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: If the Creator created everything as perfect in the first place, why should we correct anything?
Answer: Yes, but we are not yet in the state that He created. We are outside of it, behind all kinds of veils, concealments. These screens have to do only with us since we are the ones who feel concealment.
The Creator created only one state regarded as the world of Infinity. However, in order to feel that we are actually in this Infinity, we need to accumulate all sorts of experiences.
Suppose someone wants to treat me to some exotic dish, but in order for me to really appreciate its taste, I need a desire for it. I am supposed to have an idea of what it is and how it is eaten. Otherwise, I won’t get it, like the farmer mentioned in The Book of Zohar who lived on a farm all his life, grew wheat, and, until he once visited a city, hadn’t even suspected how many delicious things could be made from it. All he had ever known was the rough grain.
So, while being in the Light of Infinity, we feel it only as a donkey does, chewing on the rough grain. Except for the simple “grain” and “water,” we don’t desire anything else. We don’t sense in the Light of Infinity all the delicacies that the Creator has prepared for us.
How then do we start desiring the Light that fills Infinity and feel it in all its manifestations, through its entire depth, with total clarity? We don’t have such a need. We must create it within ourselves.
In order to build up a desire to smell the sweetest pie instead of the rough grain, in order to sense Infinity instead of the minimal Light of Nefesh de Nefesh while being in the same state and the same Light, we need to cultivate desire. Desire grows by way of concealment, when I am shown a little bit of the Light and then it is concealed again, exposed and then concealed. This is regarded as “flirting,” playing.
This is a very serious game since concealment increases desire. This is how the Light is playing with us, by exposing and concealing itself. This is why we withdraw from the world of Infinity and become separated from it by numerous concealments, until we end up in this world, in its total concealment.
All we need is desire. At the instant I do get it, I will receive the precious “pie.” As soon as it grows some more, I will be given an even bigger treat. With every new step, I need to increase my desire, and the upper Light starts illuminating me in full force. My desire opens me for connecting with Him and allows Him to enter me.
The Creator created all of these states from the start, but out of the whole of Infinity, you can feel only the minimal Light of Nefesh right now. It’s because you don’t have a desire of your own to wish specifically for it and to feel pain because you are lacking it.
This desire has to be totally new, unlike your instinctive desire. You receive it by forcing, overriding yourself and struggling with your entire nature. When you start wanting the Light this much, it will be an authentic desire. In other words, you need to wish for bestowal!
At present, it seems to be something totally silly, some strange bestowal and love. However, these are simply familiar words that mean a new type of desire which doesn’t exist in us yet.

Don’t Cry Over Spilt Milk

Posted on

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How do the horrors of the Holocaust combine with the principle of “There is none else besides Him” and “He is good that does good”?
Answer: There is none else besides the Creator; He is consistently good and does good, while we are opposite to Him. And hence, not reforming ourselves, we provoke the development and strengthening of the negative forces. In the world, only we possess free will. In reality, there is a balance of forces. However, in the process of exploring them, man tends to bring into the picture his own resentments, pains, and impressions, as well as worries and fears, along with the burden of his personal history.
When we approach something with our own instruments, we should study natural phenomena rather than the subjective factors that make us laugh or cry. As a true scientist, I research the forces of nature that in our world generated a form called Nazism. Who could have prevented it? Why did everything occur as it did?
This is what the research shows: A force that is good and does good acts upon us from Above, and there is nothing else besides it. The upper Light remains at absolute rest; it is invariable, and its laws are indisputable. One could provide many citations, and all of them prove but one thing: The Creator’s force and the program of creation don’t change because of our cries. They are constant and are moved by the engine that drives us to the end of correction.
The more we correspond to this process, the better our condition is. The less aligned to it we are, the more misfortunes befall us and we feel worse. Everything depends on our choice.
Essentially, the blows we receive assist our correction, but thereby we advance by the path of hardships and pain, which will bring us to the destination at a designated time. If, however, we study the system and seek an opportunity to adapt to it, we can advance along with the system, in accordance with it. Thereby, instead of being hit, we can evolve by taking a pleasant path of hastening time.
One way or the other, everything depends on us, on how we integrate ourselves into the mechanism that advances us and the whole humanity forward. Moreover, we are the only ones who can do it, unlike all other nations. Before anything else, Israel must become a model of a new, integral, global humanity, of “altruistic communism,” as Baal HaSulam defined it.
Having prepared ourselves for it, we will justify our existence. We have been chosen only for this. Only through a small group can the method of correction be brought into the world.
Therefore, there is no other option: We will either accomplish what we are supposed to, and then the entire world will be well, or, God forbid, we will choose the unpleasant path as it previously happened in history. There is no use in sitting and crying; we have to examine and evaluate all the factors and be very serious about it. This is what characterizes sensible and wise people, unlike little children who can only cry, which is exactly what the nation is doing so far.

Unifying The Two Forces Of Nature Within

Posted on May 4th, 2011 at 6:51 pm

Dr. Michael LaitmanThere are only two forces in the world: the force of bestowal and that of reception. By interacting with one another, they must come to equilibrium, adhesion, and oneness.
The will to receive starts forming inside the desire to bestow, the Light. The Light constantly influences the desire to receive by developing it, while the latter responds to the Light. Thereby, they begin to interact. As a result, the desire to receive pleasure evolves to an ability to act on its own, to experience, think, and react to the desire to bestow.
Thus, these two desires gradually decrease, descending lower and lower. In the end, this allows us to analyze very fine details that combined, allow us to construct the complete system. It is as if from a global analysis we move on to a very fine research (as if we are using tweezers), which enables us to get information unavailable in a general approach. And the latter provides what is missing in the particulars.
As a result, we need to come to a state when the general and the particular will be fully analyzed and completely corrected. This is why there was the descent of the spiritual worlds up to this world, followed by development in this world. In the process of its development, our world undergoes the same four stages and arrives at the creation of the desire to bestow: from below upward, in order to return to the world of Infinity.
Kabbalists take great care to explain this process to us. First of all, they are scientists, and this is the physics of the two forces acting in creation, which explains how these forces come down to us in order for us to connect and start working with them. After all, they become realized only in our desires, intentions, and discernments.
In nature, these two forces are balanced. But we are supposed to get in between them and assemble ourselves, completely incorporating both of them within. As nature, the Creator, consists of both of these forces, His own force of bestowal and the force of reception through which He influences us, so must we construct ourselves from these two forces. That is what the entire program of creation and evolution entails.

The Science That Studies The Self

Posted on

Dr. Michael Laitman
Kabbalah is a science about reality. Man is a creature that strives to understand why and for what purpose he exists and how he can come to the truth. He yearns to uncover the meaning of such notions as “truth,” “facts,” “purpose,” or “reaching the goal.” He is made to demand this kind of fulfillment.
Man’s greatest need is to know who he is, as it is said: “From my flesh shall I see the Creator.” Indeed, to learn who I am, I need to know who the Creator is. This necessity mandates me to search.
The entire wisdom of Kabbalah is dedicated to the study of man since besides him, nothing exists. All of reality is within man, and everything occurs solely in him. I don’t see anything in this world except myself. All that is happening around me is me, images within me. I don’t have the slightest idea what is going on outside of me.
This means that Kabbalah is the study of the self, self-attainment, self-awareness. All other books describe some kind of illusions, as if there is an external reality around us. Therefore, everything but these sacred books is a total lie made up by man; they are the fruit of his imagination.
We don’t realize how unique these books are; besides, as far as the truth is concerned, we have nothing to hold on to. Without these books, we would exist in this world as some little insects that live only for as long as the time allotted to them permits. Only with the help of these books can we gradually develop ourselves and start examining, measuring, and learning “who and what we are.”
Thus we find out that we contain the whole worlds, Partzufim, Sefirot, and numerous parts that seem alien to us, which in the end turn out to be the parts of your own soul. This is your very desire split into the still, vegetative, animate nature, and humans as well. And at the last, fourth degree, we must collect all these parts together in order to come to the intention “to bestow,” which is mandatory for this final, fourth, stage of creation.
When I gain this intention to bestow for all parts of creation, I will finally find out who I am; I will know myself. And there is nothing else to study in reality.

“A Thousand Times The Righteous Will Fall And Rise Again”

Posted on

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why is it that my mind understands that the Creator is worthy of being justified for what He is doing to me right now, but I am feeling bad nonetheless? Why can’t I affect my inner state with external actions such as a prayer?
Answer: What your desire is feeling at the moment is, in fact, you. In spirituality, you can’t pretend and say something you don’t feel. You have to come to the correction of your heart. And before anything else, we still have to figure out what exactly is in our hearts.
If you are crying, what is crying in you: your eyes or your heart? That’s the difference! The problem is that everything we do is on the outside, while the science of Kabbalah is the internal wisdom, the inner part of the Torah. You must dig into the heart of hearts, study, and test it.
Then you’ll understand that external actions only stand in your way and cover the authentic image up; they deceive and confuse you. You need to bare your heart and work with it without any outer theatrics, laments, and tears!
If you take a sedative and stop raging, will it really turn a sinner in you into a righteous one? No, everything is evaluated by the inner feeling in the heart. And we know what it is like. We think that all we have to do is to become embittered and make ourselves cry. Kabbalah doesn’t cancel external actions, but it wants them to reflect the internal state since without it being true, our work is pointless, and we won’t fulfill our designation.
Therefore, don’t fear that you’ll have to become a “sinner” at one point and “righteous” at another. They are two stages of the same spiritual degree, as it is said: “One cannot carry out a Mitzva (commandment) unless one breaks it first.” This means that one first undergoes the burdening of the heart (an additional load of egoism), and he is regarded as a “sinner” who broke the “Mitzva” and feels to what extent he is unable to do it.
And then, he gets stronger with the help of the environment, demands the Light that Reforms, corrects his desire, and becomes “righteous,” only to fall again. After all, he receives another dose of egoistic desire and turns into a “sinner” once more, in order to keep correcting himself in order to become “righteous.” It is said: “A thousand times the righteous will fall and rise again.”
Every spiritual degree starts with a new load of egoism, and you start it as “a sinner.” Afterward, you finish correcting it and reach adhesion with the Creator at this degree, and then you are regarded as the righteous.

Conceiving Myself Within Myself

Posted: Mon, 28 Feb 2011 14:04:10 +0000

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How can I envision our common Kli (vessel)? What does the group within me mean?
Answer: The group within me is the place where the Creator exists. He organized such a place within me. This why when I enter the group, I seemingly come to my friends, whereas in reality, I enter my inner sensation of the “place.” If I continue to be connected with the group, it will serve me as the mother’s womb, the ark, the place of concealment, salvation, and protection.
This group exists within me. I only mistakenly perceive it as existing outside of me the same way I perceive the entire reality. In order to start sensing the true reality for real, I have to give up my pride, independence, and grandeur so I could become dissolved in the group, the ark, the mother’s womb. Then within it I will reveal the Creator—in my first spiritual degree of the spiritual embryo.

The Work of Torah

The Creator is the source that man yearns for.
The Torah is the light, which fills man at the present moment.
Israel is man himself, that is, his desire to bond with the Creator.
How can these totally independent concepts be identical?
The goal of creation consists in creating man in this world so that he can cleave to the Creator while yet living in his physical body. Man ascends and crosses spiritual worlds to reach the Creator. More exactly, spiritual worlds penetrate him to such an extent that he and the Creator become identical. This is what union with the Creator means. One loves the Creator, follows His ways, and observes His commandments. At this level, all of man's qualities, desires, and attributes have become identical to those of the Creator.
The Torah is given to man so he can access this perfect and eternal level and fulfill the purpose of creation. The Torah can only be given to man after his descent into this world where he is endowed with a physical body and selfishness. Angels cannot receive the Torah because amongst all creatures only man possesses absolute selfishness.
If man chooses the path of the Torah, he can neutralize his selfish body and desires in such a way that they will no longer act as an obstacle between him and the Creator. Man and the Creator unite. This union is a throwback to the Procreation State, before the descent of the soul into this world, before the soul is "handicapped" by selfishness. Moreover, by correcting his selfishness man can climb the rungs of the spiritual ladder and reach the level of the Creator. Some creatures are devoid of selfishness and therefore have no tool to progress and remain at their initial level.
Except man, all creatures are said to be "spiritually inanimated, motionless". Even angels, the divine forces through which the Creator rules creation, are not independent "force-desires" but only executors of His will. Man, by transforming his very developed selfish desires can become equal to the Creator.
The soul is a part of the Creator placed in man. Man is born with an envelope of selfishness and can no longer perceive neither the Creator nor anything spiritual. Selfishness permeates his sense organs, which possess qualities opposed to spirituality. When man transforms his selfishness into altruism by removing his selfish envelope, he begins to perceive the essence of creation in such a way that nothing separates him from the Creator. At this point the three above-mentioned concepts unite.
Our task is to remove, with the help of the Torah, all obstacles between the soul and the Creator. Of all Torah studies Kabbalah is the most efficient because it draws towards man a ray of light of the highest intensity while he is studying.

The Evolution of Souls

Everything is grasped through comparison. By comparing the Creator’s attributes to ours we realize both His might and our lowness. One needs to be thus aware of His magnificence and His omnipotence. Faith means actually feeling the Creator and His Presence.
All souls go through the following stages:
1. The phase which precedes their descent into our world.
2. The phase during which they are endowed with a certain deficiency termed selfishness. This is what souls perceive as physical incarnation
3. The phase during which souls perceive themselves and the entire spiritual universe after the ultimate consummation.
The phase preceding the initial descent of souls is called "Olam Ein Sof”, the endless world where souls endlessly receive the light of the Creator. Afterwards the soul is enclothed in selfishness and descends to "olam ha ze”, this world, where its link to the spiritual world is remote. It no longer feels the Creator and no longer perceives its previous condition.
"This world" refers to the perception of the present moment, that is to say the part of creation, of the Creator we currently perceive by means of our sense organs. The selfishness is seated within the senses.
The next level is attained by bringing the sense organs under control. This higher level brings a wider perception of creation. This level is felt before the process of attaining "the world to come”, the world we will perceive supersensually, as opposed to the « real » one we live in now.
Both worlds are nevertheless currently perceived within our physical body. When we perceive our environment, and ourselves we perceive our, "his world". However, it is in the present that we begin to contemplate the future and the sensation induced by projecting oneself into the future is termed "the world to come". The process repeats itself "the next day" when the "world to come" becomes "this world" and so on .
A close examination of Baal HaSulam's writings may help us understand the process we go through at every moment.
Concerning man's spiritual behavior, ascent can only follow the "middle line" (i.e. behavior not polarized to its extras). Progression along this middle line establishes the condition in which Torah-the Creator-Israel merge into one thing.

The Whole World? What A Trifle! | Laitman.com

 Posted on
Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is my responsibility for the world? If during the day I haven’t succeeded in something, does it reflect on the world?
Answer: It certainly does. After all, you are a “cogwheel” in the common mechanism of creation. The Creator created the system where everyone is an egoist. This system is divided for you into 125 degrees or spiritual states: from complete separation from the others to an increasingly closer and tighter link of your cogwheel with the others, until all of you become one whole.
Besides, this is how it looks only to you; in reality, there aren’t multiple people but only Adam HaRishon. You are affected by the same laws that work on everybody else. Your will to receive (desire) is simply greater than that of the others. They are satisfied with “trifles,” while you wish to “consume” the spiritual world as well.
The point in the heart is not bestowal yet. On the contrary, the most “restless” desire of pleasures unfolds namely in spirituality. And only then, when this abyss opens up, a person is prepared for transformation.

An Opportunity To Bring Goodness Into Our World | Laitman.com

"All attempts to connect with the goal and attain equivalence with the Creator or Upper Force, to reach bestowal and love for the neighbor, do correct us and the whole world together with us."

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Can Kabbalah conventions help shift the world to the path of the Light, the path of accelerating time (Ahishena)?
Answer: There is no doubt that by making actions such as attending Kabbalistic conventions we do cause corrections in the world. All attempts to connect with the goal and attain equivalence with the Creator or Upper Force, to reach bestowal and love for the neighbor, do correct us and the whole world together with us.
Therefore, we invite everyone to take part in the European convention in Berlin or the Learning Center retreat in California at the end of January, as well as the big gathering in the Arava that will take place this weekend! In particular, people who are in Europe should feel that the situation is becoming more and more serious from one day to the next. That is why we have to unite and pull the “One who is Good and does Good” closer into this world! As long as we are just learning, we are allowed to do so even egoistically….
