“For A Fire Blazed In My Wrath”

Laitman_001.01Torah, Deuteronomy 32:22: For a fire blazed in My wrath, and burned to the lowest depths. It consumed the land and its produce, setting aflame the foundations of mountains.
Everything that a person does based on his egoistic ideal will perish in four kinds of executions. The Book of Zohar describes this in very unpleasant terms.
It is written that a fire “consumed the land and its produce,” which means that eventually we will have nothing left. Now we think that the golden age is ahead of us, robots will work for us, and we will spend every day laying on the beach or partying and having fun. But this will not happen.
On the contrary, people will suffer from deep depression, they will start consuming drugs and pills! They will hate themselves and the entire surrounding world; they will want to die, but will not be able to do so! Life will become worse than death. This indeed is a real hell.
A person suffering from depression would be glad to die. But what can he do if he is unable to kill himself? His whole life is total misery.
Question: What does it mean “Setting aflame the foundations of mountains”?
Answer: “Mountain” is from the word “Hirhurim” (doubts) and means all sorts of internal disturbances. We will see that all of this comes from the Creator and we cannot escape from this, and all because we neglect His path and do not want to rise above our egoism to the realm of bestowal and love. Therefore, we will feel that He is against us in everything. We will not be able to live, and we will not be able to die, and we will suffer every second!
This state will eventually bring people to correction, but by a very long and terrible way called the path of suffering.

And Moses Blessed The Children of Israel

laitman_740.01Torah, Deuteronomy 33:01: And this is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel [just] before his death.
There is no person more exalted throughout history or the spiritual planes than Moses. The blessing of the Creator always flows through him. And the Creator always communicates only through this level.
The Creator cannot address us directly. It is the upper Light that has no particular form. However, when it goes through the spiritual degree called Moses, it acquires a certain form through which it can influence our qualities, our desires. Therefore, everything we receive comes from the quality called “Moses.”
It is written that Moses blessed the children of Israel before his death because that is where his function in relation to the lower levels or parts of the souls that he corrects is terminated. It no longer functions, which is called death.

“From Afar You Will See The Land, But You Will Not Come There”

laitman_740.03Torah, Deuteronomy, 32:48 – 32:52: And the Lord spoke to Moses on that very day, saying, Go up this Mount Avarim [to] Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is facing Jericho, and see the Land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel as a possession, and die on the mountain upon which you are climbing and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.
Because you betrayed Me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Merivath Kadesh, [in] the desert of Zin, [and] because you did not sanctify Me in the midst of the children of Israel.
For from afar, you will see the land, but you will not come there, to the land I am giving the children of Israel.
It is surprising that Moses, who is the greatest righteous, the greatest man of the people living at that time, cannot enter the land of Israel. However, the people of Israel who are yet to do many evil actions of mutual accusation and hostility, of destruction and murder, can enter.
Moses must stay outside of Israel because this is his degree. He must accompany his people and see the land of Israel. And he sees it. By this, he as if corrects this land from the quality of Bina. Now the people of Israel, that is all other egoistic qualities, can start entering it, explore this land, these desires, and convert them to bestowal for the sake of the Creator.
Question: Why is it written here that this is the land of Canaan?
Answer: It will become the land of Israel once all the egoistic desires that cannot be corrected will be expelled from it, what is called the seven nations living there.
Once the Temple is built, all the land is distributed, egoism is mastered and together with it all egoistic desires subjugate to the twelve tribes, to the qualities and intentions for the sake of the Creator, then the land of Canaan will become the land of Israel (Isra-El means straight to the Creator).
Question: Why will Moses not enter this land? Is it because he has sinned with Aaron?
Answer: It is written in The Book of Zohar and in other Kabbalistic sources that Moses supposedly had an opportunity to act differently, to gradually attract the quality of bestowal to the quality of reception in a different way, but this was not done.
However, in principle, Moses cannot enter the land of Israel because he represents the quality of complete bestowal and love that will be achieved only at the very end of correction. The revelation of this quality should gradually take place in the children of Israel, in individual desires.
Question: It is written, “There was no other prophet who arose in Israel like Moses.” Is he waiting for us, when we reach his one hundred and twentieth degree, in order to rise together with us to the remaining five degrees?
Answer: Many righteous are waiting for us there.

Who’s Controlling The World?

laitman_263Question from Facebook: How do you feel about the United States? Many say that the United States deserves catastrophes, so it is necessary and the quicker it is cleansed, the better for all.
Answer: I don’t myself with that because all that is in the world comes from one single force—the Creator. He controls everything: He raises and lowers different countries, peoples, and parts of the world; sends hurricanes and earthquakes; explodes nuclear reactors, etc.
That is how the upper control works, wanting to shake us up and bring us to order so that we wake up a little and stop being constantly submerged in our own foolishness.
Therefore, no one is to blame: not the Unites States, not Russia, no one. Everything is controlled by the Creator. It is written in Kabbalistic sources that the hearts of those controlling the world are in the hands of the Creator. That’s why I don’t have any particular opinion, neither critical or approving, not toward one particular system or toward a particular government.
I think that all of us together, like little children, need to sit down and begin to study the system of the upper management and only then will we understand how much we really need to do this.
And the first to sit down and really study this science should be those who are manage the world because they channel the actions of the Creator to the rest of us. I very much hope that they will listen to this advice and then, in understanding and compliance with the upper control, the world will be able to come to a state of calm.

Is It Possible To Avoid Suffering?

laitman_567.01Question: If we could experience the suffering that people experience during natural disasters or wars, would we have the possibility of choosing our path more correctly?
Answer: No, in this case, a person simply obeys and submits to blows; this is not choice. Nature is specifically interested in the conscious choice of the next level of development; otherwise, it is not human choice.
The transition from the still to the vegetative level and from the vegetative to the animate level happens under the influence of the blows of nature, and a person in our world is a result of that development.
Presently it is up to us to move consciously to the next level, the level of speaking in a completely different manner, and therefore, the method of the wisdom of Kabbalah comes to us in the form of a system of information. Because precisely after the developmental states of still, vegetative, and animate (where we are today), there is a conscious tendency in us to rise above the personal self.
We are in an intermediary state. For example, between the level of the still and the vegetative there is the intermediary stage called corals, between the level of the vegetative and the animate there is the level of the “dog of the field,” and between the level of the animate and Adam there is the level of the ape. So between the level of the Adam of our world and the level of the Adam in the upper world there is the Kabbalist.
A Kabbalist is a person who, on one hand, includes within himself the beastly properties of this world that are characteristic of a person in our world and, on the other hand, the characteristics of the next levels of the upper world.
The ascent of a Kabbalist to the upper world doesn’t happen under the influence of the instinctive forces of nature; it happens consciously. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us about freedom of choice, work in a group, and how to create a special state within and around us for the purpose of being changed.
Apparently by ourselves, we take ourselves out of a state in which the ego manages us and we rise to the next level in which we balance the ego through the good force that is revealed in us opposite to the ego. In this way, we exist with two forces, both a negative egoistic force and a positive altruistic force.
In the nature of our world, the altruistic force doesn’t exist, so we must attract it. And then we exist in the connection, in the balance of these two forces. This will be our next state called the middle line.
I hope that we will consciously, using freewill, come to the right decision, and that we will reach this state without world wars.
Question: If we make the right choice, will we avoid an apocalypse and natural disasters?
Answer: Yes, this is so even if at least a small part of humanity will understand that the only way to prevent natural disasters is to follow the method that is given to us in the wisdom of Kabbalah. We need to recognize that there is no other way out.
Question: What is the reason for giving blows to humanity if this is not useful for development anyway?
Answer: The accumulation of suffering brings humanity to a state in which it, nevertheless, begins to think about what to do, meaning that the sufferings balance the human ego.
For example, if a child doesn’t want to go to school, his parents begin to limit his pleasures: They take away his ball, after that his bicycle, and so on until they don’t leave him any choice but to agree to go to school.
But even in this situation, freedom of choice exists, the possibility of choice remains. We are always found under some limitation; choice is possible not only when there is unlimited freedom.
This is the manner in which the possibility to choose spirituality, between reward and punishment, exists in us. Therefore, it is our obligation to understand all the conditions and circumstances that bring us to the unique situation called “freedom.”

Why Correct The Imaginary World?

laitman_423.02Question: Why should one be engaged in correcting this world? Why should one aspire to improve life, happiness, and goodness if according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, this entire world is an illusion and imaginary emptiness?
Answer: This illusion was given to us so that we would get rid of it! We do not correct this world, it does not need correction! Also, there is nothing to correct our existing in this situation in the world.
We must transcend this world, taking ourselves out of it to the next trajectory, to the next level, to the level of the upper world. This world is the most insignificant and darkest; there is nothing to correct in it; it exists only to transcend it.
Question: Is it possible to be happy in an imperfect world?
Answer: Such a thing is possible because it makes no difference whether the world is perfect or not; it is up to you to use it correctly to become a partner of the Creator, to give enjoyment to the Creator.
When you reach this state, you will see that basically there is nothing unfortunate in this world. For our system of perception, this is a paradox, but when we enter the sensation of the upper world, we begin to see that the only thing that exists in the world is the upper Light that fills everything; there never was anything and there have never been any problems or unhappiness in this world.

The Secret Of Happiness

laitman_939.02Question: The secret of happiness is the internal connection of the hearts into one whole, but what is the internal connection? How can you describe it? What should I yearn for?
Answer: Internal connection is possible only through the group. In a friends’ meeting, for example, you should imagine that you are in a corrected spiritual state. For this purpose meetings with friends are held to create this state inside you, to sculpt it, and to remain in it for a whole week until your next gathering.
The whole Kabbalistic method is aimed at recreating the proper structure of man, which means that everyone should connect wisely, emotionally, consciously, consistently, by trial and error, in an attempt to resemble the Creator.

World History In The Light Of Kabbalah, Part 2

laitman_533.01Question: If we remove all of the lies from history, it will not mean that we will be left with the truth; in fact, we may end up with nothing at all. They say that history is written by the conquerors. Is that so? If we studied the history of those who were defeated, would it look completely different?
Answer: The fact of the matter is that there is no history. There is a fixed state in the beginning of creation called Malchut of the world of infinity, which contains the initial substance of all of creation. All the worlds and everything inhabiting them exists in Malchutof the world of infinity.
Kabbalah studies the four phases of the expansion of the direct Light. Everything starts with the Light or the Creator. The Light is called the Creator because it creates or begets. This physical substance it the quality of bestowal.
The Light, expanding from above downward, builds a desire that matches it; this is the first phase. It then evolves into the second, then third, and finally, the fourth phase, called Malchut. This completes the expansion of the four phases of direct Light.
All the rest takes place inside Malchut, which is an enormous will to receive.
Malchut, perceiving itself distant from the Light and opposite to it, does not agree to remain in this state and performs a restriction. After that, it decides that it necessarily has to be equivalent to the Light, meaning to perform certain transactions with it. That is how it gradually grows closer to the Light.
The most important thing about Malchut’s development is to build a state called “world” out of itself—and this does not mean our world, within which it builds creation, say, man. Let’s call him Adam.
The problem that Malchut wants to solve is: How does it juxtapose Adam with the world in a way where his entire volume (the yellow in the image) will be filled by the upper Light?
This is implemented by people who in our world try to become similar to the Light. They create a common desire that is similar to the Creator and reach the state of the full correction, called Gmar Tikkun.
This comprises all of human history.

Why Does Nature Punish Us? Part 2

laitman_765.1Question: What is so special about today’s ecological situation? What is the difference between an earthquake or volcanic eruption that occurs today and the ones that happened a thousand or two hundred years ago?
Answer: The reason for these natural cataclysms is different. A thousand years ago, the cause of an earthquake was in the natural process of evolution that sought to advance us and for all of nature to balance.
The cause came from the force of nature itself, and now the cause is in our own negligence. Instead of bringing all parts of nature to connection, a person causes universal separation.
Until now, nature itself exerted pressure on us in order to develop all its degrees—inanimate, vegetative, animate and human—to a certain level. Presently, we have already reached this predetermined level of development and entered the stage of so-called “integral humanity.”
The world turns into a small village where everyone is connected with each other, and now we ourselves are responsible for maintaining the balance in nature. It turns out that each problem caused by a lack of balance points to our incorrect behavior.
If previously hurricanes and earthquakes forced us to advance in developing technology and economy, today, they simply humble us. It is not enough to react to the blows of nature by the development of technology; today, social changes, and the correction of social connections are already necessary. If we do not react correctly, then we aggravate the situation.

World History In The Light Of Kabbalah, Part 1

laitman_229Question: How, according to which laws, does world history unfold? Is it cyclic? Does it repeat in every generation?
Answer: This is a complex question, not because it is related to history or geography, but because it is related to our perception of reality.
According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, there are two basic forces in the universe: the will to bestow or the positive upper force, the Creator, and the will to receive—the lower negative force, the creation. Both desires, interacting with one another, determine practically all of history.
Since their initial parameters and final states are set, we can describe all of these stages of the will to receive (creation) under the influence of the will to bestow (the Creator) in advance. In principle, there can’t be any surprises here.
The first part of the development of history happens completely under the influence of the upper Light, meaning the force of the Creator. In this process, creation feels the pressure of the Light and, being fully in its power, transforms under its influence, going through specific phases of development, the same ones that an embryo undergoes in its mother’s womb for nine months. This is why we understand absolutely everything that is happening.
Because only one factor operates here, the upper Light, we know in advance which stages we will go through and how.
In principle, this is how humanity developed. And this program of creation presupposes a person’s reaction to the influence from above: the extent to which he can advance contrary to his egoism, on the side of the upper Light, the quality of bestowal, love and connection; or he does not desire this, cannot do it, does not understand how to act, and by that he seemingly opposes the Light’s influence.
And if he opposes it, then he naturally feels different. Then history includes greater forces of resistance on the part of creation and greater coercive forces on the part of the Light, the Creator. However, in general, the development of history is strictly regulated from the beginning.
Today we have reached a very interesting stage of development where we can acquire a certain freedom of will, allowing us to change our history and change the speed and type of our development.
In any case, we will develop according to strictly delineated, pre-set degrees. We will either go through them consciously, with understanding and participation, in which case the development will be favorable, voluntary, and welcomed by us. We will see it as good development from our perspective and the Creator’s. Or we will resist it like small stubborn children, not wishing to implement the program of creation.
That is, either it is unknown to us, as is the case for most of humanity, or we are familiar with it, like people who study Kabbalah and are obligated to know it, as those who have already gone through these states thousands of years ago. We have to try to correct our path, making it more conscious and good for us, but most importantly—for others.
Thus, all of world history was written from the beginning. This is why philosophers and scientists, when beginning to examine history, man’s behavior, the present, past, and future, are stumped when trying to answer the questions: Can time proceed backwards? Is everything predetermined? Where is our freedom of will? How does an elementary particle choose the form in which to continue its development—as a particle or wave, meaning light?
Physicists say that everything depends on the person performing the experiment. When he sets up the device to measure the elementary particle either as a wave or a particle, the particle knows about it in advance and behaves in accordance with the chosen device. It’s as if the present determines the past, meaning time that proceeds backwards. This is what physicists assert.
Kabbalah speaks about this much more simply. In principle, it does not relate to the concept of time because there is no time; we realize that which exists in the world of infinity in its final form. But since all of our states are set in advance, there are no surprises here—there is no present, past, or future, as if someone is playing a movie for us and we see its separate shots.
Everything has already been recorded on the film in advance, and we are only viewing it. This is our life. It is being played inside of us, but practically, we can say that it is being played in front of us.
We are the direct participants of this viewing, which is predetermined in advance, and we know everything that will happen and what we will do, except one thing—by being in the group and attracting the upper, positive force upon us, we can elicit changes.
However, we can’t change history itself or the course of events, but only our attitude to it, and then it will look completely different. That is because our attitude to it determines what we will see on those shots: war or peace, good or evil. We determine everything.

Don’t Get Lost!

Laitman_512.02There shall be no harlot of the daughters of Israel, neither shall there be a sodomite of the sons of Israel. [Torah, Deuteronomy, 23:18]
Female and male qualities in a person should be clearly directed to the purpose of creation, to the bestowal and love between all, and in no way to oneself.
Don’t get lost! Don’t turn back all your desires, intentions, forces and qualities for your own sake, but only for the sake of others.
You shall not bring a prostitute’s fee or the price of a dog, to the House of the Lord, your God, for any vow, because both of them are an abomination to the Lord, your God. [Torah, Deuteronomy, 23:19]
You shouldn’t derive any benefits for yourself, even from egoistic actions on the corporeal level. This is a prostitute (an egoistic desire) in you.
If you act egoistically for your own sake, then bear in mind that you won’t be able to build your future Temple (your future state) on this. After all, by this action you are at the moment gratifying your wild, barbarian desires in some way.
This isn’t about the body of a person, but about his soul, because the wisdom of Kabbalahworks only with the soul. Therefore, you must feed the body, give it water, wash it, put it to sleep, and give it everything it needs within reasonable limits.
And if you go beyond these limits, you become a prostitute, meaning you move from your spiritual forces to the corporeal ones.
Question: So in principle, all of humanity can be considered prostitutes?
Answer: We have created such idols for ourselves that it can’t get any worse because we think only about satisfying our egoism.

Kabbalah Is The Method Of Revealing The Creator

laitman_563Question: Who called the wisdom we are studying “Kabbalah”? Does this name refer to the time of the writing of The Book of Zohar?
Answer: The word “Kabbalah” first appeared in the book of Abraham. It means “receiving,” because the most important quality of the created matter is reception. Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah means a special quality of receiving the revelation of the Creator.
Question: Does it mean that such terms as “the science of Kabbalah” or “the wisdom of Kabbalah” were already known in the time of the First Temple?
Answer: Long before that, about 1,500 years before the construction of the First Temple. And whether before that, I cannot say.
In addition, a lot of books from Adam to Abraham were lost. We just do not need them and so they gradually disappeared. We do not know the books written by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob except The Book of Creation (Sefer Yetzirah) of Abraham. Rambam mentions that Abraham wrote many books; however, we do not know where they are.
Question: Is Kabbalah a method or a book?
Answer: Kabbalah is the method of the revelation of the Creator. The Torah (from the word “Ohr – Light)” is the knowledge about the upper Light. And the rest: the Mishnah, the Talmud, and other holy writings are an addition to it, commentaries and so on. The Book of Zohar is also a commentary on the Torah.
All of it together is called the Torah, that is, the instruction for revealing the upper Light.

Why Does Nature Punish Us? Part 1

laitman_738Question: The earth is our common home but lately chaos has been ruling in it. Over the past year, a record number of natural disasters has occurred: severe fires, floods, and hurricanes that impacted entire countries as well as individuals, and resulted in enormous material and emotional damage.
The quiet life is coming to an end. It is known that the earth has gone through various geological periods, some of which were very unstable. Are these ecological catastrophes inevitable as a result of the earth’s natural course of development or are they something exceptional that can be avoided?
Answer: All of these catastrophes could have been avoided since nature only becomes unstable because people cannot balance it. Nature has always pushed us toward development by creating difficult conditions for us, such as heat, cold, earthquakes, and epidemics. After all, a person only begins to move when he feels bad.
We are egoists and we do not make the slightest movement if we do not feel that it will produce some benefit for ourselves.
Therefore, nature is forced to send us suffering in order to encourage us to develop. Then we begin to develop science and economics, and begin to study ourselves and the environment around us in search of a way to organize safer and more comfortable lives for ourselves.
All of this development is necessary only because of the problems we experience. It is known that if we want our children to succeed, we have to demand this from them and force them to study well. This is the same way nature has developed us throughout the thousands of years of human history. From the moment humans climbed down from the trees and left the caves, we have been continually developing as a result of the “human” problems, which are one level above animalistic ones.
This means that nature does not just beat us like all the animals, forcing us to seek food, burrow, and take care of our offspring, but it loads us with all sorts of problems designed to develop our minds and sensations. Due to this, we live, not just by animal instincts, but we have developed into a more human society. We must build our lives because our children need care for ten to twenty years as they grow up.
Nature pushes us, not only through the primitive desires such as food, sex, and reproduction, but it also directs us to develop science, economic systems, and education. It forces us to discover and explore new continents and to explore nature in order to improve our lives.
That is, nature pushed humans to become smarter. Human development is, thus, in contrast to the development of inanimate matter, plants, and animals. Besides, nature has directed humans to develop sensually and so we develop in the areas of culture, education, and art: painting, music, and literature, which all are determined by the present state of humanity.
We do not live like animals that meet for a short period of time to produce offspring and then split up. People build families and countries, and use language to communicate and pass knowledge from one generation to another. This is a whole system that differs qualitatively from the animate level of development.
However, all of this intellectual development is not enough because nature demands even more from us. It wants us to be connected into one general kind system, mutually complementing each other. Yet, we are not capable of this because, by our nature, we remain as egoistic animals.
Within each person, the same animalistic egoist remains hidden, and all of the knowledge that he has acquired through thousands of years of evolution has only helped him to use his environment more cunningly and for the purpose of greater personal profit. We create social systems that deter us from eating one another; however, we still try to profit from each other. That is, we implement boundaries that state: what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is yours.
Yet, this also does not work very well because egoism constantly grows and burns within us. Everyone wants to bend the whole world to suit himself. Thus, we are not able to unite into one common, harmonious system. This is the whole problem: human society, instead of progressing and becoming smarter, is beginning to descend and turn toward the source of all evil, becoming the most harmful creature on earth.
Humans destroy the inanimate, vegetative, and animalistic forms of nature, and poison the soil and the atmosphere. There are thousands of tons of cosmic debris that rotate around the earth, the remnants of satellites. We do not do wise or rational things because of our egoism and, therefore, we cannot be correctly included into the system of nature.
The general, integral system presses in on us according to the level of our development. From year to year, we were supposed to develop further and connect with each other correctly, in a beneficial way, thereby positively influencing human society as well as all the other levels of nature.
However, instead of this, we have revealed our complete oppositeness to nature and have become increasingly corrupted. Accordingly, our influence on nature has become worse and it is, therefore, not surprising that nature brings us many more blows than before.

What Is A Blessing?

laitman_239Question: The last of the portion of the Torah is called “Ve Zot aBracha” (And this is the blessing). What does it mean?
Answer: A blessing is the upper Light. It’s not simply a light, but the Light that corrects a person and humanity, creates it into a united form, such that this form exists in similarity and fusion with the Creator. It is similar to the Creator like a vessel and its fulfillment.
The Light that corrects us and makes similar to the Creator is called Torah. All we have to do is to learn how to receive the Torah and to correctly call it upon ourselves so that it can fully form and mold us.
A blessing is the highest state a person can achieve when he completely “clothes” onto the Creator. He is like a vessel that accepts the upper Light within himself.

Research In The Science Of Kabbalah

Dr. Michael LaitmanEvery science consists of three parts: basic research, practical research, and the popularization of the science including education.
If everything is more or less understood regarding the popularization of science, it is not the case regarding new basic research and applied science.
Question: Are there new basic studies conducted in the wisdom of Kabbalah, or does it all come down to studying ancient sources? Is the research spontaneous or is it coordinated by Bnei Baruch?
Answer: Studies on the wisdom of Kabbalah are conducted in Kabbalistic groups who make laboratories of themselves and examine how the changes in the group are affected by the upper Light, the surrounding Light (Ohr Makif)
Question: If it is an applied science, a practical science, what is the essence and the direction of the study? Or is the role of the wisdom of Kabbalah reduced to merely supporting other sciences in the practical sense, sciences like quantum physics, for example, or individual scientists?
Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah does not support material sciences in any way, although they can use its findings. The role of the wisdom of Kabbalah is not so much about research but the practical use of the upper force, the surrounding Light (Ohr Makif), in order to change man’s nature.
Question: Is there a plan to popularize the wisdom of Kabbalah? I mean is there a system developed system to spread the wisdom of Kabbalah around the world in cooperation with different religions, science, educational institutions, the mass media, etc.?
Answer: There are studies of the wisdom of Kabbalah. But since it is necessary to change the nature of the scientist for the Kabbalist to study it, there is a need for a group in which such research can be conducted.
This cannot be done in the framework of university communities because none of those students studying Kabbalah academically want to switch from its theoretical study to its practical study in a group as the Kabbalistic sources describe. They eventually keep talking about the subject, about the field, without actually attaining the subject, the field, itself.
Everything you are asking exists in the wisdom of Kabbalah in a unique form because the Kabbalistic knowledge of attaining the concealed layers of nature is revealed to a person to the degree that he changes himself, corrects his egoistic nature, which is never required of any other scientist.

Seeing reality as it truly is requires a new, altruistic program of perception. We need to see everyone as one system, but the present mind and feelings are not ready for this. We need to develop a new, spiritual intelligence: an absolutely new perception of reality, a global intelligence that will make it possible for us to feel an attitude of love toward all people like we have for our children.

Resistance To The Wisdom Of Kabbalah, Part 5

laitman_254.03Question: Resistance to Kabbalah began back in the time of the Baal Shem Tov, and was provoked by the appearance of many related misconceptions: the Sabbatean movement, when Sabbatai Zevi declared himself a Messiah, Frankism, etc.
They used the Ari’s method and made a surrogate out of it, which attracted a lot of people to them. This caused fears against the Ari’s method and Kabbalah in general until today. How can these historical stereotypes be dispelled?
Answer: If you are looking for an excuse for accusing a movement you do not like, you can always find one. It is the same as when anti-Semites accuse Jews of all possible and impossible sins. It is the same aspiration to oppose the power of bestowal.
Is the Ari’s method to blame for the fact that Sabbatai Zevi took several proposals from it? There are many fictional theories supposedly based on Kabbalah: medical practices, cameos, magic symbols, notes, blessings. All of them use some terms from Kabbalah to show that they allegedly have power.
But we understand that there is no power in them, and eventually this emptiness will unfold, if not in this generation, then in the next one. All false stories die, except true Kabbalah. Kabbalists continue practicing the same method at all times, adjusting it to their generation and passing it on.
Baal HaSulam revealed the Ari’s method to the point that it had never been revealed before, and thus, wrote the Talmud Eser Sefirot, which is a commentary on Ari’s “Tree of Life” and also  The Sulam Commentary on The Book of Zohar. It is impossible to elaborate more on this method. And Rabash revealed work in a group for us, which had not been done before. Even the leader of Hasidism the Baal Shem Tov did not leave behind a single book about his methods.
By studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, we follow the methods of Baal HaSulam, and we use Rabash’s method to implement it in work in the group. If someone does not agree with this, then he will always find an excuse for accusations. But there are no other Kabbalistic books that describe a clear Kabbalistic method.
Ultimately, all resistance to Kabbalah is in favor of Kabbalists and only does harm to the accusers themselves. Criticism, published by ill-wishers, turns into another form of spreading Kabbalah. Gradually it becomes clear that opponents of Kabbalah have no idea about it and are not in spiritual attainment, and therefore, all their accusations are far-fetched.
Their attitude will not change, but will become even tougher as we approach the end of correction. This is called the “war with Amalek” when we spread the law of love of one’s neighbor as oneself, which is taught by the wisdom of Kabbalah.
Kabbalah appeals only to unity. We implement it through practical work in groups of ten, as Moses once did. The method of unification, which we obtained from Kabbalists allows us to reveal an upper force between us. Man exists in this world for this very purpose.

How Does Kabbalah Make A Person Free?

Laitman_712.03Question:  How does Kabbalah make a person free?
Answer: Kabbalah reveals to a person the full extent of his lack of freedom and explains the boundaries in which his freedom exists.
In our world, freedom from our egoism, from our nature, which consists of inanimate, vegetative, animate, and speaking parts, is possible. And only the method of Kabbalah delivers this outcome. The method of Kabbalah teaches us how to attract the higher power that lifts us above our animalistic egoism.
In actuality, we are very weak and unable to get away from our egoism. A person cannot pull himself out of a swamp. But with the help of the upper Light, which we can attract upon ourselves, we are pulled out of the material plain.
The so-called AHP of the upper descends onto us into Galgalta ve Eynaim of the one below, and we begin to rise; we transition from within the boundaries of our nature into a higher realm.
But, even there, we are still not free, meaning that we still cannot do whatever we want. Therefore, the concept of absolute freedom does not exist. Only the Creator has absolute freedom, but not the creation.
Creation can be in a state of freedom within its primordial, egotistical nature and, at the same time, seek equivalence of form with the Creator; in other words, seek to increase its attraction to altruism, to bestowal, and to love. In this state, a person feels completely satisfied and fulfilled; he does not have any deficiencies and feels unlimited freedom.
In addition, a person develops a sense of responsibility—he feels obliged to give, to help, and to fulfill others. A person feels that this state of an absolute lack of freedom is actually absolute freedom, achieved every time only by rising above his egoism, above all sorts of flawed sensations.
