Question: The global rate of suicide is growing. Why does the Creator give a person a desire to commit suicide?
Answer: We must undergo a certain period of time before we realize that our current life is worthless and meaningless.
Subconsciously, a person runs away from this feeling, escaping into drugs, plunging totally into an occupation or favorite pursuit, or ends his life by committing suicide, just to forget and avoid the search for the answer for the meaning of life.
If this question does come up in a person’s mind, it means that he has reached a state in which he must find the answer. He has reached the barrier where he can attain the meaning of life, but prefers to repress this question.
Question: Can a person change the way he lives in an incorrect manner?
Answer: Of course, he can. This is the purpose of the wisdom of Kabbalah: to change the way one lives from the wrong one to the correct one and, at the same time, to feel continuous pleasure from advancing toward the right goal.
