Baal HaSulam, The Study of the Ten Sefirot: It is known that each branch is like a root, therefore everything that is in the root finds justification in the branch, loved and desired by it. And that which is not in the root, from that the branch moves away, does not tolerate and hates it.
Everything that is contained in the Creator, and stretches to us directly from Him, is pleasant to us. That is, we love peace, because there is no movement in our root.
We love peace of mind because our root, the Creator, is at rest. Without realizing it, we feel the absence of inner peace because we do not coincide with Him in terms of properties, and this causes movement in us. If we knew which way to go, we would quickly find a state of rest.
