Torah, “Deuteronomy,” 7:12: And it will be, because you will heed these ordinances and keep them and perform, that the Lord, your God, will keep for you the covenant and the kindness that He swore to your forefathers.
Comment: The conversation is with human egoism, which says that if you comply with all the laws ,everything will be all right.
Answer: Of course. But on the other hand, everything is not the way it seems to us because there are no physical or egoistic violations, punishments, or rewards. TheTorah speaks only about human spirituality.
We need to understand that, on one hand, the entire system of development drives us to the spiritual ascent. But on the other hand, a person who begins to deal with it can’t lie quietly on the couch.
He feels that he must reach spiritual ascent, although no one is forcing him. He has to work against his egoism even though he doesn’t feel any violations, any beatings and punishments at the moment.
He feels moral beatings, the inability to remain in this state; he wants to be a man. And this is the warning.
The Torah says that if you want to be a man, you must fulfill its instruction. And if you stumble, you will be punished. But all this is regarding my desire to become different, and not an appeal to me as a “beast” that has to bear material punishment.
If you make a mistake in your spiritual ascent, you won’t achieve what you desire. And this is the punishment. Especially in this case, when it comes to the nation of Israel, which is already moving to the land of Israel.
