Comment: The social network Facebook has been accused of bias toward Israel following its placement—not in alphabetical order but after Zimbawe and with the country’s flag missing—on a special page dedicated to the opening of the Olympic Games in Rio Dei Janeiro. The flag was added after the Olympic Committee of Israel complained to Facebook. It seems that Israel is getting a negative attitude from all sides.
Answer: This is not a negative attitude but hatred and it will continue until we recognize our obligation to the world, “to be a Light unto the nations” (Isaiah 49:6). It means that we must be an example for the world of the ability to unite.
The people of Israel are the most egoistic and therefore the most separated and scattered. But the method of unification exists only with us and the world is subconsciously waiting for it. For the meantime, the United States supports us, but the Jews in the United States are becoming more and more distant from Israel and soon the American government will be able to put pressure on us according to what it wants.
When that happens, we will not be able to remain here anymore, as Baal HaSulam writes, if there will be anywhere for us to go at all. So let’s not go back to the times of the “destruction of the Temple.”
