Question: Suicide is one of humanity’s problems. Every 40 seconds, someone in the world commits suicide (800,000 per year). In the US, the suicide rate has increased by 30% since 1999. Some celebrities who have recently committed suicide include Anthony Bourdain, the famous chef and TV presenter on CNN, and the younger sister of the Queen of the Netherlands. Can you explain this?
Answer: I can explain this as emptiness. It is an emptiness that crushes, tears, and does not let one sleep. Even drugs are ineffective at relieving it. A person simply feels as if he has no other options. We need to look at life correctly and start educating ourselves.
Question: What should a person come to?
Answer: To the meaning of life. One can understand the meaning of life when he crosses the boundary between life and death. Only when life is worth less for you than life itself can you correctly weigh up what to live for and rise above your egoism and egoistic life.
Question: Is it when I do not cling to it? When I do not hold on to every desire?
Answer: Not only do you not hold on, but you live by the fact that every minute you give up your egoism and rise above it. Every minute, you are above death, as if you are experiencing it. This is the separation from our world and the entrance into the upper world.
Remark: This is very hard.
Answer: It is not hard, it is a happy opportunity for us all.
Question: So, I should not value my egoistic life?
Answer: A person who wants to comprehend true existence has to despise this life and appreciate it only because it is a basis for building a higher life on it. And the higher life is than death, and when you die in an animal form every minute, you grow spiritually.
Growth in the spiritual form is life not for oneself, but for something outside oneself: for the sake of the Creator, for the sake of the system, for the sake of humanity, it does not matter what—the main thing is to get out of your “I.”
