We Do Not Recognize BDS In Israel

In the News (Times of Israel): “Israel’s ambassador to France called on local cities to ban events tied to the pro-Palestinian Israel Apartheid Week, scheduled to begin Monday.
“Aliza Ben-Nun wrote to mayors of nine cities across France asking them to cancel events organized by the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.
“Ben-Nun said that the events are likely to cause disturbances, incitement to hatred and violence towards Israel and the Jewish community. She also wrote that the boycott is prohibited under French law. …
“Israel Apartheid week events are scheduled for Paris, Rennes, Toulouse, Montpellier, Lyon, Saint Étienne, Lille, Marseille and Grenoble as part of a world-wide initiative in more than 200 cities and universities that critics say seeks to deligitimize the State of Israel.
“According to its French website, the events in France will mark 100 years of colonization by Israel and 100 years of popular struggle for justice by Palestinians, counting from the Balfour Declaration of 1917.”
My Comment: What this means is that they are apparently saying that: “The nation of Israel doesn’t exist, we don’t recognize it, we don’t recognize this nation, let’s make it so that they will not exist once and for all.”
Even though the French have been severely harmed by the actions of Muslim terrorists lately, still their hatred toward the terrorists is less than their hatred toward Jews. They exchange one hatred for another, meaning that they blame the Jews for everything.
Moreover, they intentionally try not to pay attention to the problems with the terrorists, with the Muslims, but only see the Jews: “Why don’t they let the Muslims live as they want?” In the opinion of the French, the Jews must be thrown into the sea, the entire area must be cleansed, and then they will live comfortably and well. This is even though in other Muslim nations we don’t see any example of a good life, but specifically the French think like this.
Question: So, what is to be done with BDS? After all, this movement is becoming stronger.
Answer: It is necessary to see its purpose: It helps us Zionists to become stronger. I believe that negative pressure on the Jews, on Israel, on the people of Israel, on their existence, is useful.
Until we correct ourselves, we require very serious pressure and a push. This is necessary for us. If we are not pressured, we cannot live together with each other because since the days of ancient Babylon we have been representatives of the 70 nations of the world.
Who joined Abraham? It was representatives of all kinds of tribes that lived in ancient Babylon. Therefore, each one of the Jews belongs to a different tribe, a different people, from among those that existed then.
Those who had a point in the heart answered the call of Abraham, and therefore they organized a group; they gathered together all the points in the heart and began to be called Yehudim”(Jews), from the word “Yichud” (union), and Israel, Yashar-El, meaning straight to the Creator. But in fact, biologically they were absolutely different.
Question: So, what is to be expected in the future?
Answer: The future depends on us! But as long as we haven’t reached the right future, as long as people haven’t heard what the wisdom of Kabbalah says about the necessity of connection and unity above all contradictions, as Abraham did, the BDS organization is necessary.
Therefore, I am in favor of this pressure, and it comes from above, from the Creator, because “there is none else beside Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35). I hope that the pressure will continue until the people of Israel will wake up and understand that it is up to us to unite, and only in a manner like this can we bring ourselves and the whole world to balance, perfection and unity.

Where Your Thoughts Are

Laitman_716_01Torah, Deuteronomy 20-18: So that they should not teach you to act according to all their abominations that they have done for their gods, whereby you would sin against the Lord, your God.
The nations of the world are these desires that draw us to all the pleasures of material life and to all its problems. But all of these very much carry away a person.
We see how, despite the fact that people come to the wisdom of Kabbalah, which is engaged precisely in destroying evil in people and bringing them to the level where they become kind and do good to others, our world pulls them in the opposite direction.
Here we need to confront our egoism. This is what the Torah calls for.
A person must rise to such a level that he takes only what he needs for existence from this world and everything else he directs only toward the attainment of the upper world.
This doesn’t mean that we have to sleep on the ground, live on bread and water, and lead a meager life. A person should have everything that his body requires. For example, it can demand five meals a day, sleep on the feather bed and not on a simple mattress, and so on.
We should start with fulfilling its requests reasonably. Then gradually, as a person moves into the quality of bestowal in connection with others, his demands for life will change naturally, without coercion.
It doesn’t matter what these demands will be! When a person’s intentions are aimed at giving to others and in attracting others toward unity, then it does not matter what his body requires. Give it what it wants so that it does not interfere with his internal development.
Question: Does it mean that if the head is directed upward, the body will gradually come to the state of modesty?
Answer: Of course, however, not because of beliefs and various spiritual practices but in a natural way.
A person is where his thoughts are. Therefore, all the rest comes to the naturally minimal, normal level that is required for a person. His material level automatically restricts itself in accordance with the level at which he is in spirituality.
It becomes ordinary, which does not distract him with any worries; it is good if he has it, but it is also all right if not. The main thing is where your thoughts are.

The Plan For Exiting Crisis, Part 5

laitman_600_04Altruism—Genuine or Irresponsible
Question: There are many people in the world today who can call themselves altruists. Why do you think that the crisis resolution is possible through altruistic education?
Answer: We are not talking about altruism as customarily understood in this world, but about the Kabbalistic meaning of it. Altruism is the perception of the whole society as one system in which the wellbeing of an individual is equivalent to the wellbeing of society; therefore, he must include himself in the society and treat it as he treats himself.
I do not know if various altruists and humanists think the same. If any of them treats society this way, then it is close to what the wisdom of Kabbalah demands from us.
If a person sees his life as a part of society, like an embryo in a womb of his mother, receiving everything from her; then he realizes that everything depends on the wellbeing of society. And that is why he gives everything to the society and takes only the bare necessities for himself. Through this behavior, we guarantee our spiritual life without any restrictions.
A person will treat society this way if he receives an integral education. With the help of this education, he will begin to understand and feel what “integrality” is and what it means to be all as one man. Without this, the world cannot exist. The global crisis and the numerous problems that modern world is experiencing today lead us to this.
The world is in the transitional period when the era of “democracy” and “liberalism,” which led society’s leaders to irresponsible management, is nearing its end. If all management is carried out exclusively in a “democratic” way, then the results are the most disastrous.
After all, who chooses the leaders? This is the public who makes their choice based on which candidate screams louder, looks prettier, and is more like the Hollywood icons..
We can see the results of this populism all over the world. The leaders of European countries destroyed Europe with their liberal course. Perhaps, it is not clear to everyone yet, but very soon it will manifest itself to its fullest.
And most importantly, the harmful influence of the mass media determines public opinion through the speeches of famous artists and popular figures who know how to convince people.
It turns out that the leadership of countries is chosen not according to their professional leadership qualities, but according to their public speaking skills.
The public, impressed by performances, chooses their leaders, who then come to power and start doing whatever they want. All of this is the result of populism, liberalism, and democracy. The problem of modern leadership is its incompetence.
The revision of the entire previous approach is beginning now, and we hope it will lead to correction.

The Dualism Of Nature

laitman_562_02Question: There are many examples in physics that verify the fact that our nature is dual. It is the division of matter into material and energy particles, or in other words, into fermions and bosons.
All the objects and phenomena in our world are either binary or dual, and two forces are observed in every phenomenon.
All of the systems that physicists study are either absolutely balanced or aspire for balance. The two forces in the system must complement and balance each other in order to reach a balanced state.
Answer: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the world is also basically divided into two opposite forces—the force that bestows and the force that receives—and everything that happens is only the expression of the different variations of the relationship between them.

Answer: Kabbalists should teach people to unite with each other. Therefore, we build tens and show practical example of unification.
Question: What qualities should a person have in order to teach this to others?
Answer: He himself must actively participate in unification, learn from this practice, and then he will be able to teach this to others. Kabbalah is the most practical science.

Evening And Morning In Spiritual Work

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, Deuteronomy 16:06: You shall slaughter the Passover offering in the afternoon, as the sun sets, at the appointed time that you went out of Egypt.
The exit from Egypt symbolizes the initial separation from egoism and rise above it. Afterwards the correction continues because disconnection from egoism and rise above it is still not the correction of the ego.
Therefore, the exit from Egypt constantly recurs. Every time you have to take some part of egoism, feel how you come out of it, and start correcting it for the opposite property.
“Evening” is a state when you feel that there is a new evil in you because a night is the beginning of a day, the time when all evil forces, which you collect and expose, emerge. Then the morning comes.
“Morning” does not mean a sunrise, but a sense of confidence that now you can work in bestowal with all these egoistic desires.

All Roads Lead To “The House Of Abraham”

laitman_937Starting with the first man Adam and onward through twenty generations until Abraham revealed the shattering, all this time humanity was seeking connection with the upper force and with the purpose of creation.
It took twenty generations to come from the point of shattering that was manifested in the first man to the true revelation of the upper force that Abraham accomplished.
Abraham discovered the correct method of work that allowed him to reveal the Creator and also to realize himself by becoming similar to the upper force and adhering to it.
Question: At what point does Abram, an ordinary person, become the forefather Abraham?
Answer: The moment when he begins to attain the program of creation, he turns into the foundation from which starts the new stage of development in a person.
A person was looking for the purpose of creation and of his life and found some deceptive values, which is called, “he was creating idols and selling them.” He sought in what form it is possible to advance, for what it is worth living. However, then he breaks all his fantasies, one idol after another, because he understands that they are incorrect and for them it’s not worth living.
He moves on until he finds the correct, final method and form of advancement. That is, he already has an understanding of his foundations—a good inclination and an evil inclination. He knows how to connect them in the middle line and to bring them to correction, to adhesion with the Creator by uniting, bestowing for the sake of bestowal, and later receiving for the sake of bestowal.
When he finds these foundations for his spiritual work, this means that he revealed Abraham, the father of the nation (Av HaAm) in himself. From this moment onward, he begins to build a new spiritual form in himself.
Abraham is a symbol of spiritual work, a force that is capable of leading some of the desires out of Nimrod’s power, out of egoism. All other Babylonians remain in Babylon, and later we will have to correct all these desires. Today, like in the time of Abraham, humanity must break all the false idols that it created for itself, reduce their value to dust, and then build a new correct form from them.
The world is gradually moving toward this correction. The whole history of humanity unfolded only for the sake of final correction. It seems to people that the events occurred by chance, but this isn’t so. The informational genes, Reshimot, have unwound this way from the first man Adam and on.
The same processes are happening inside every person, inside the people of Israel, who are “the house of Abraham” in relation to the whole world and in the entire world in general. It’s like nesting dolls that nest inside each other. The main thing is that there is one upper force that brings good.
The evil that rises against it also comes from the same source and is created to teach us to distinguish between good and evil, between light and darkness. When we will be able to connect these two opposite forms, then precisely between them we discover ourselves and contact with the Creator.
The middle line connects the Creator above with the man below. And the other two lines, right and left, are required only in order to build the middle line, which is the connection between us and the upper force.
Each person must find Abraham within himself, meaning the foundation for spiritual work that allows him to reveal the Creator and adhere to Him. This is the purpose of creation. And also, it is necessary to bring the whole world, all of humanity, to such a connection into one whole, so that this force, this idea, will unite everyone together.

Acting For The Benefit Of Others

Dr. Michael LaitmanMost important in the spiritual work is to put filters or restrictions on all our thoughts, actions, desires, and words, which would act strictly in one direction: ensure that thoughts in the head, desires in the heart, words in the mouth, and actions by hands all work only for the benefit of others.
However, it doesn’t mean running from hospital to hospital, helping the needy, or assisting old ladies to cross the road, and so on. Nothing like this! We see that this doesn’t give us any results.
There is only one thing left: to pass the upper Light through ourselves to the entire world by becoming one nation, as it is written in the Torah, “And you shall be unto me a nation of Cohens.” If we undertake this and become intermediaries between the entire world and the Creator in order to bestow to Him and to the world, but never to benefit ourselves as “Cohens have no allotment in this world,” then we will bring the whole world to harmony, balance and fulfil our mission.
This is the essence of the chapter Shoftim (Judges), who all the time have to measure and weigh correctly, pass fair verdicts, and control themselves.
