The Concealment That Precedes Revelation

We lack only one thing, which is a need, in every state, to reveal that “There is none else besides the Creator.” At first, this statement is completely abstract because I only read about it in a book.

But later, it becomes closer and closer to me and I see that “There is none else besides Him” in everything that happens around me, in all the people I meet and in all events. The Creator is concealed behind all of that, Him and no one else.

“There is none else besides Him” in my thoughts means that it is He who put these thoughts into me, and I am only sensing them. And when it comes to how I perceive and react to these thoughts, here too “There is none else besides Him.”

Do I make the decision about how to react? Is there anything in my reaction that is from my own self, or is there only “None else besides Him?” By delving into these questions deeper and deeper, I come to adherence with Him.

If there is actually “None else besides Him” in any state, any place,  any thought, or in any of my supposed decisions or actions, it means that everything is determined by the Creator. In essence, I am simply discovering that He decides everything, and I only have one point from which I can establish that everywhere, in everything, the Creator is the one operating. This is how I reveal that I am completely adhered to Him.

Striving to constantly hold on to “None Else Besides Him” and to discover the Creator in each of our thoughts and desires, in heart and mind, brings us to adhesion with the Creator. Nothing more is required of us, this is the most important. We simply need to train ourselves to this attitude in all of our daily life.

How should one work with concealment, with the fact that there is me, there is the upper force, and concealment between us? How should I relate to this concealment?

In essence, concealment stems from my own desires that are intended for revealing the Creator. If they were not meant for revealing the Creator, then I would not sense concealment within them. Generally, I would not even feel them as relating to the Creator.

There are a great many desires, which at the moment, lay dormant inside of me, without manifesting themselves in any way. But in those desires where I consciously feel the Creator’s concealment, I have the possibility of revealing Him first and foremost, on the condition of working with them correctly. This concealment is the state that precedes revelation.

It follows that the main concealment occurs on the very principle of “None else besides Him,” forcing me to attribute actions to myself or to others. Accordingly, I divide reality into my own self and the world around me.

However, if I attributed all the actions that are in my mind, reason, and the surrounding still, vegetative, animate, and human world to the Creator, then I would feel the correctedShechina (divinity). Only the point from which I see that everything is done by the Creator is called the point of restriction, the point of my “I.”

Without this point, there is no creature, but everything else, except it, belongs to the Creator. And if inside of me I see “None else besides Him,” and all around me “None else besides Him,” then I reveal that indeed “There is none else besides Him.” It is not difficult at all. We simply need to strengthen each other in this intention. If you agree, then let’s sign the contract of mutual guarantee. There is no need for anything else.

This principle of “There is none else besides Him” is the only thing that you need to implement. We perform many actions in this world, but all of that is simply in order to help us hold on in this intention of “None else besides Him” through any activity. There is nothing else that we need to do besides that.

Becoming Your Own Master

Question: How can I transfer criticism that is directed to different parts of the world to love and care for these parts?

Answer: What criticism could be in relation to the world? The Creator does everything! Who can you criticize? People? They are all run by the Upper Light that works in them. Do they have any freewill? Do they control their own destiny?

Look at what is happening around us. Every day we hear news and watch the latest news. You can see what the Creator does to people to teach them to finally discern that nothing depends on them.

He wants to bring them to the realization of the evil of their own nature so that they would begin to understand that something must be done with this, that they are not in control of themselves, and they should turn to the upper source.

We cannot say whether any person in the world is good or bad. They are puppets controlled by the Light and have just a small animal desire, and a micro-dose of the Light in all Its metamorphoses directs them to perform various actions.

How can you blame or approve of them? There is not a single movement in a person that is not controlled by the Light, and only to the extent that he wishes to associate himself with the Light does he begin to feel that the Light controls him.

Our highest purpose is to try to acquire the properties that will allow us to predict the plan of the Creator and do our actions independently. They will be correct, corresponding to those that the Light wants to make them.

I will perform them as if going forward before the Light. However, still these actions will be fully consistent with the program of development for creation until its full correction.

The Creator Is Playing Hide And Seek With Us

Question: The holidays of the Israeli nation are a continuum of phases that a person goes through when he decides to follow the path of loving others. Every holiday is a stop along this path in the process of the complete fulfillment of this goal. What is the place of Sukkot in this chain of events?

Answer: Just like any other phenomenon, it is difficult to explain what the holidays mean from a Kabbalistic perspective because it is about something that a person doesn’t yet feel and still has to develop his sensitivity to.

At the beginning of creation we were in direct, constant, and revealed contact with the upper force that created us, but in that state we didn’t understand Him and were not aware of Him yet, as if we were an embryo in his mother’s womb adhered to her and existing thanks to her.

In order to make mature created beings out of us who understand the Creator and know Him, to study His attributes, t0 become like Him, and to relate to Him like He relates to us, there was the Tzimtzum (restriction) and concealment. The created beings suddenly were detached from the Creator.

It turns out that there is a created being—a man, humanity—and in contrast, there is the Creator, the force that manages everything and operates creation. There is nothing other than the force of the Creator and man who was created by Him, whom He wants to raise to His level.

In order to allow a person to grow, the Creator places a Masach (screen) of concealment between Himself and the created being, a thick partition. I don’t see the Creator behind this partition, but I have to try to find Him, as if by playing hide and seek,  trying to see Him in everything that happens to me and inside me,.

On the whole, there is no other work in the world other than the constant representation of the Creator before me. I have to try to discover the Creator in all my thoughts, desires and feelings, and in everything that happens around me. I have to receive everything asMasachim  (screens) that conceal the Creator behind them.

I have to feel that it is only the Creator who fills the whole world and operates everything, including me, of course. All my work is to remove the concealments and return to the state of a revealed contact with the Creator when I understand, know, and feel Him to the depth of the previous concealment, by turning the whole Aviut (thickness) of the partition into an area for His revelation!

This area, which previously created the concealment, now becomes the area of revelation that is called the upper worlds and by which I begin to understand and feel the Creator. I exert myself during the concealment in order to reveal Him, and thanks to that I grow and learn to understand and be just like Him.

The Creator wanted to teach me and reveal His attributes to me and this has been successful. Now we know and understand one another. I feel everything that He wanted to teach me by the concealment. After correcting the concealment to revelation, there is mutual love and openness between us and we reach complete adhesion. We must go through this process, as this is the whole plan of creation.

There are levels in the concealment, starting from the easier ones to the increasingly more difficult ones. Eventually I find myself behind five levels of concealment called the worlds. In order to get closer to the Creator and to know Him, I have to reveal Him on every level.

The five levels of concealment are divided into five parts and each one is divided into five other parts making a total of 125 levels that separate me from the Creator. On each level, I have to turn the concealment into revelation, the lack of understanding to understanding and the lack of feeling to feeling. And thus I acquire the Creator’s attributes and change from one level to the next.

This is nothing like scientific research in this world when a physicist remains the way he was after revealing something new. The levels of spiritual revelation change the researcher himself.

After all, the attributes of the Creator are opposite from my attributes. I totally receive and He totally bestows. Therefore, I have to change the Masach that conceals Him from reception to bestowal in order to reveal Him. Because my attributes are opposite from the Creator’s, the Masach conceals Him, and by turning it to bestowal, I advance and get closer to the Creator.

Don’t Play With The Ego; Be Involved With The Soul

Question: How should one work correctly with foreign desires since the more that you advance, the more they are revealed?

Which is better: to prohibit my weak points so that I won’t fall into egoistic fulfillments, or placate my “beast” when it says, “Get this for me,” thinking that I am doing this to get closer to spirituality?

Answer: You can never placate your beast! You cannot fulfill it in any form! No matter how much freedom you give it, no matter how much you fulfill it with all kinds of pleasures, it will not calm down. On the other hand, putting limits on it will not help.

Feed it, and it will want to double in size. Limit it, and it will still want twice as much. It will seem to you that there are inexhaustible possibilities for pleasure to be found.

How is it possible to overcome this? You don’t need to be involved with your beast. Don’t hit it, and don’t placate it. Be involved with the soul instead. Shut your eyes as if the beast didn’t exist, and be involved with spiritual work. Join a group to take functions and responsibilities upon yourself and drag them without deviating toward the beast because playing with the ego doesn’t bring anything good.

Regarding Mutual Connection And Love

Question: You spoke about a mutual connection between the groups of ten and all of us. What is this connection?

Answer: A connection is when I think about you and you think about me. I fulfill your desires, and you fulfill my desires because each by himself cannot carry out his own desires. In the spiritual world, we can feed each other, but each one cannot feed himself.

This is exactly as it is with love. There must be mutual cooperation, partnership, mutual connection, a mutual feeling, and how you cause joy and pleasure for others.

A feeling of mutuality and connection appears only when you know the needs of the other and you fulfill them. He knows your needs and fulfills them, and when each of you enjoys giving pleasure to the other, then a shared feeling appears called “love.”

Certainly, there is no chance of finding this in our world, but in the spiritual world, everything exists only in this form.

Are We Ready For The Revelation Of The Creator?

Question: If it is only the readiness to discover the Creator, then we are ready. So, why don’t we discover Him?

Answer: If you are ready, then what’s the problem! It does not need any action besides the united efforts of the world group.

Suppose that you have a leaky faucet. Put a cup or bowl under the faucet and fill it as much as you want. You will find, however, if your cup is broken or there is a hole in the bowl, then what can you do? After all, you aren’t even taking the trouble to glue the broken vessel together. What will you fill with water? With what will you discover the Light?

You are in an ocean of Light, but you don’t feel it because you don’t even have the tiniest capacity to contain, discern, measure, and feel this Light.

Question: Suppose that I am not ready for revelation, but everyone else in the group of ten are ready. How should I work?

Answer: Ask to be connected with the other nine friends of the circle such that a minimal level of spirituality will be revealed in you, and it doesn’t matter that you are still not ready. You ask until your request will become real, and then you will feel immediately that everything is realized.

Question: So why are we stopping? Why don’t we continue the discussion in a circle to attain this level?

Answer: We cannot be involved with the same thing for a long time because the sharp feeling disappears. Fatigue comes and people need to change the atmosphere. States like these are given to us intentionally to begin to restart like a computer.

A Point Of Inspection

Working on self-correction, removing the concealment, and the revelation of the Creator begins when I first feel that there is a cover-up. After all, an ordinary person doesn’t notice it and feels that everything is revealed.

Once I feel the concealment, I begin to clarify that it is inside me, it isn’t somewhere between me and the Creator in some external physical space, but inside me, in my heart and mind, not letting the Creator dwell there.

Accordingly, I change and expand my heart and mind by exchanging my current attributes with new attributes. I am like a small child who is taught to look at the world and to feel things that he didn’t feel before.

I begin to work with the new attributes and gradually make it a habit that becomes my second nature. Being in contact with the new attributes, I become sensitive to them. This is how it works everywhere, including with my attitude toward the Creator.

When I work on the concealment, I begin to discover the Creator’s actions on me through it. I only need to be very delicate about it, careful, and attentive so as not to simply clarify what I think, but what He does so that I will think that way.

What do I want? Just a minute, but this isn’t what I want! What does He want me to want? This is the kind of clarification I do each time.

There is nothing in me that is mine since there is none else besides Him. The only thing that I have is a special clever point that identifies that everything in me stems from the Creator. There is only one tiny point left from which I examine and check myself, just like an inspector.

This is how I must work with my feelings, with all my life experiences, in order to use them and fulfill the goal of my life.

Warm Waves Of The Sukkot Holiday

The revelation of the upper force takes place in 125 degrees by which a person approaches the Creator closer and closer. But this process advances in a unique way. To the degree that I approach, I suddenly feel the darkness of an even greaterconcealment again. And I advance again, overcoming the darkness, making a discovery, and finding myself in darkness again.

This is like in school, where with every ascent to the next class, the study becomes more serious and difficult. In first grade we learn while playing, in second grade it is a bit more difficult, in third grade, even more difficult. When we reach the higher grades, learning becomes intense and in the university it is very difficult.

The levels of difficulty rise sharply, exponentially, and we must take this into account. But we learn to help each other this way and to use the help of the Kabbalists and the entire organized system that has been prepared for us.

As in regular science, we use all the achievements, beginning from ancient times until our day. And even though it becomes difficult for us to advance, millions of people are working in the forefront of science today, something that requires many resources, materials, and financial means, and so science evolves.

The more we advance, the more the requirements for work increase, in quantity and quality, and mass participation is required. So, today all of humanity is entering into a unique level; many people feel the emptiness of life, which can be filled only through searching for the Creator.

For this reason a person loses the taste in life; this is something that is designed to push him towards discovery of the upper force. He will find fulfillment only if he discovers the source of life that created him and plays “hide and seek” with him.

Sukkot is a special holiday. This is the time when all who are searching for the Creator already begin to feel the warm waves, the embrace that comes from it, and this is a wonderful feeling. Like in a game of “hide the thimble,” when getting close to the place it will be found, we also say, “Warm, warmer, very hot!”

Sukkot is a special time even for those people who are still not included in the search for the upper force, but who already feel a little of what is missing. If during the holidays they at least join us somehow participating in discussion circles, then they will feel that a very unique feeling of inspiration and elevation of spirit is present that envelops all people.

We hope that together we will get to feel this warmth and discovery!
