Acceleration By Impeding Or Pushing Forward

So far, we are unable to play the game customary among the Kabbalists of the past, who were way above the Machsom. As opposed to us, they pretended that they were not at all concerned about bestowal since they were already in it. By acting so, they were giving each other a chance to feel the depth of the desire before it even appeared to them.

In order to ascend to the next degree, one has to correct the additional portion of the desire that has already been revealed to him. In the beginning, it appears to us as darkness or evil. At any given step, an egoistic side made by the Creator shows up first. The second condition, “I created the Torah as a spice to correct it,” comes next.

If a person asks for correction, the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif) descends to him from the next degree and corrects him in response to his MAN.

If our ascent is a result of the revelation from Above of the evil inclination made by the Creator, then in order to accelerate our advancement, we can pretend that spirituality doesn’t mean a thing to us. If we act so, each of us will have a chance to overcome this disdain. It’s because when I receive such hardening of the heart, I want to escape spiritual work. So my friends deliberately concoct this internal condition for me in order to accelerate my advancement. This is the game we all will play after we enter spirituality.

Meantime, this state is still ahead of us. We don’t play the “adult games” as of now, but on the contrary, are inspired and have high spirits. I play in front of my friend as if I already have reached the upper degree. I have to demonstrate to him that everything is great, so where are you? It’s as if I urge my friend to rise as fast as possible.

The beginners have to be very cautious of their words and of activities that don’t excel the goal. Thus, we all have to inspire each other by the greatness of our spiritual purpose. We never work against the power of bestowal by enhancing others’ resistance, but rather push each other towards bestowal. Therefore, we have to be very cautious and by all means avoid being light-minded.

All our activities and conversations as well as the games we play with ourselves or with our friends (whether internal or external) have to be strictly oriented towards the goal. As little children who want to grow up and become adults, we should never make obstacles for each other. We should only push each other forward by setting the right example.

Unbreakable Cycle

Question: At today’s lesson you said that during the 24 hour day there is definitely someone on Earth who is studying Kabbalah. Why is it so important?

Answer: This is very important. We see it.

There was a great Kabbalist inf the 16th century, Ramhal, who had a group in Padua, Italy. We have notes from the members of this group and their diaries. They studied in sequence so the studies would not stop. Each subgroup studied for 5-6 hours, and the rest of the people went home, to work, or to sleep. Thus the cycle of their studies never stopped. This is important when you feel that you are working constantly for the same goal. Even when you are absent others are working instead of you. It gives a special effect.

This helps all of us and this is very important because there are always people in the world who are studying according to our system.

The Middle Line Is The Straight Road To The Creator

The internal work begins when I begin to control myself. I have to examine how long I am in the right line and how long in the left line (Baal HaSulam says that we should dedicate twenty-three-and-a-half hours a day to the right line and the remaining thirty minutes to the left line).

I have to decide what line I am in and not be thrown from side to side by the states that come along. It can’t be that as long as I am in a good mood I will be in the right line and the moment it’s interrupted I immediately fall to the left line. By myself I have to try to “awaken the dawn and not that dawn awakens.”

This means that the way to be human begins from a person’s work on himself, from his attempts to be above the two lines and to hold the two reins in his hands. Thus he advances correctly. The main thing is the efforts, although we can’t estimate how successful they are according to our knowledge.

If we work this way, we come to the recognition that we can’t keep ourselves above the states that throw us downward and upward like helpless babies. One time we are captives of the left line, of Pharaoh, and another time we belong to the right line, to the Creator, but we don’t agree to that; we want to be independent so that we’ll be able to adhere to the upper force and resemble it.

This means that both the left line and the right line have to be part of us so that we’ll sculpt our image from them. Thus we reach a prayer as we see that we can’t create the middle line by ourselves and that it isn’t born out of the simple connection between the left line and the right line. We need the upper Light here to come and show us how we can integrate the first two lines, how we can connect them.

After all, it isn’t simple and there’s a need for a special multi-sided, multi-layered connection. The vessels have to connect the Lights in every cell, in all the tiniest particles. The right line, the Light, determines the right connection with the left line. The left line provides the matter, the desire, and the right line gives it its form, and so a very complex structure is born of the two.

The matter of the left line is raw material, like stem cells that belong to the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature and the human levels, and the Light that comes from the right line knows how to make different forms of connection of all these cells. Like a form in which all the matter is made of the same basic particles (electrons, protons, etc.) but the complexity of the connection between them determines all the richness of the different atoms: 126 elements on the periodic table from which all the forms of the still, vegetative, and animate nature are built. A human being is already above them, since he includes the system of forces.

So we first have to understand how important the influence of the environment is: the teacher, the group, the study, meaning the factors through which we receive the Light that Reforms. Our purpose is to ascend above all the states that we feel. Since all our attempts to ascend above our mood are eventually doomed to fail, we despair of our own powers and realize that we need both the support of the group and help from Above. It’s very important to ascend above our state, above the two lines, since it immediately places a person at the starting point on the straight road to the Creator, at the middle line.

The Basics Of Working In Three Lines

A person has to make efforts, to play in order to annul himself as much as he can, and to value the environment as much as possible. As a result of this game, the right line is built in him in which he thinks that he wants to stay for the rest of his life. The moment he reaches “satiation,” he cuts himself off from this state and dedicates time to the left line.

In the left line he checks himself: “Do I really think that way, and attain this way? Do I really feel the recognition of the Creator’s greatness within my vessels and the recognition of this wholeness? Have I really attained such an understanding and feeling in my heart and mind, or is it just an external impression like of an embryo in his mother’s womb who totally annuls himself?”

But I don’t want to annul myself. I have just annulled my desires in the right line and I want to feel the greatness of the Creator directly in the desire, which I now discover in the left line.

Then I feel a deficiency, but I keep these two lines so that they will balance one another and none of them will be tilted in order to keep the balance. There is no specific time limit for the right line or the left line, although it says that one should spend twenty-three and a half hours in the right line and only half an hour in the left line.

We have to try to add as much as possible to the right line and to the left line. We shouldn’t decide that we have done enough and that now we should wait for the Creator to start acting and to complete these two lines for me.

A person constantly switches from one line to the other until he makes enough efforts and then the third line is revealed. He summons this revelation by raising a deficiency from the left line to the height of the right line, asking that the Creator reveal His greatness to him in response to this request. He wants to reveal the Creator’s greatness, the greatness of bestowal, only so that it will allow him to work with the desire that was revealed in him in bestowal, “above reason.”

His egoistic desire surrenders to the greatness of bestowal that is revealed and agrees to work under the domination of the Creator. This means that a person builds his “head of the spiritual Partzuf,” where he calculates things that enable him to bestow in order to bestow and to receive in order to bestow.

Tuning Into A Wave Of Bestowal

Question: By seeing the friend’s deficiencies, I actually see my own flaws. How can I identify the corrected state in the friend?

Answer: The work with the group is diversified and is carried on until the end of correction. What is more, my view of the group changes constantly. Even if there are only several people in the group, if I see them as great, if I see them as if there is nothing else in the world, as if they are all of my reality, the group becomes great in my eyes. Everything depends on how I value it, and how important it is to me. It is like a child for whom his father is the best in the world. Here the quantity and the quality are mixed.

Then I advance, and if I get close to the friends, I see the upper system in them, in which I have to be incorporated.

Just like the universe, with everything in it, the group includes all the spiritual worlds and new souls join it all the time, and it is actually the world of Ein Sof (Infinity). All the worlds are revealed in it as a system that connects us. By getting closer to one another, we shrink and “fold” them upwards, until they become the world of Ein Sof.

Accordingly, I begin to see the friends and reality differently. Now I identify the opportunities I am given; I begin to manage myself and reality by holding on to the direction of the same goal. I “lock” myself on it and yearn for such a mutual connection among us, which creates one desire. In it, according to our similarity to it, we will discover one force.

Thus I advance, by using myself, the group, and everything that is among us in order to attain this goal. I don’t have to leave the group; in it I discover everything: the Kabbalists, the souls, the spiritual Partzufim, the worlds, everything is connected and is included in it. This is what a person discovers according to his advancement.

Question: Does that mean that the group “transmits” in the frequency range of bestowaland only I, being uncorrected now, receive other egoistic frequencies?

Answer: That’s right, we are not tuned to the frequency of bestowal yet. It says: “One judges according to his own flaws.” This refers to all my senses; they are not real yet and in the meantime the egoistic desire operates in them and so instead of the right picture, I perceive and feel the blurred illusion of this world.

By correcting my feelings, I will see a different reality, but again it will be perceived and stabilized by my five spiritual senses. Until the end of correction, it will also be limited by the spiritual frameworks of the five Sefirot, the Partzufim, and the worlds. In the spiritual world, the perception is also only in matter and in form dressed in matter. It seems to us now that the moment we enter spirituality all the partitions will fall, but it isn’t so. There too a person attains everything in vessels, in his limited desires.

It is true that he attains the connection between different phenomena and that fills him, but the filling is also relative. But as for the perception of the true and whole reality, it comes on the end of correction and we don’t know what it is like…

Different From Birth, Equal In Our Goal

Question: What do I have to aspire to, the greatness of the friends or equality with them? What is the true connection?

Answer: You have to aspire for unity with the friends, as one man in one heart. You rise above them in order to impress them with the message of the greatness of the goal, and you lower your head before them in order to receive the message of the greatness of the goal.

Otherwise, it will be as if you are equal, as if you neutralize one another, which means that you don’t impress one another. It is easiest to be “equal” to one another by turning our back to one another: “This is yours and this is mine.” Then I don’t compare what you have with what I have. Even if we just pretend to be equal, I still live calmly and have no complaints.

But true equality means that we want to connect and to impress one another with the greatness of the Creator as much as possible. In order to do that, we annul ourselves and value the society as much as possible. So all of us, who are created so differently from one another by the Creator, become truly equal, equal with regard to the goal.

If we yearn to bestow upon one another, if we yearn to subdue ourselves before the friends, if we yearn to ascend and to see the Creator as greater, if we only yearn for Him, if we want to connect, to restrict ourselves, to annul ourselves and to adhere to Him, we become equal by that. Eventually our goal is to connect with Him. By incorporating with Him, we all become equal even in the attributes by which we differ from birth. It is the Creator who has made us different and so by incorporating in Him the inequality disappears.

The Way Of The World Group

Question: Which way is our world group going? How can we connect the internal work, unity, and what is expected in the Novosibirsk convention? How do we see our future way?

Answer: We deal with internal unity as if there is no external world and there is only us, the world group alone, and we have to unite to such an extent that we will reach the level that within this unity we will begin to feel the upper world, the attribute of bestowal, mutuality, connection, and love.

The upper force, the upper state, the next level of our existence, will be revealed in that. It is a movement inward toward our unity.

There is another movement, a movement outward toward the rest of humanity. There we don’t speak about Kabbalah, but only about unity as a necessary action in order to bring the whole world to a balanced state, to resemble nature, the general law of balance and general harmony.

These two actions are seemingly opposite and many of us find it difficult to unite them internally. But the movement inward is our personal movement that is common to all those who study Kabbalah. In it there is everything we learn from the sources.

We change the same material a little, by changing its external form, getting rid of the Kabbalistic terms and leaving only the concepts of cooperation, connection, and mutual guarantee, which we disseminate outward as we call people to notice that our unity will make us equal to nature and will thus remove all the negative phenomena in life. By that we want to draw people to unity, to ascend. After all, they don’t know what a spiritual ascent is, what the next level of our development is, and why nature obligates us to reach it.

These two opposite movements evoke in a person and in the groups great internal conflicts, disagreements, and separations. People don’t know exactly how to act, what to actually do, and whether they should delve into the matter or mingle with the external movement.

We get many questions about that and although on the whole we have been dealing with this for quite a while, many people who have not really entered the system of the change in the world and man as the leading part of the world, begin to acknowledge this now.

So there is a lot of confusion, and we have to put an end to it.

Otherwise, it will lead to great misunderstandings in the groups, and the friends will not understand one another. One will be drawn inward and another outward and suddenly the groups will be divided and will become smaller, and people will leave as some of them do not accept this.

People don’t understand that on the whole our role is to create such a force, such an opportunity, by our internal unity that the upper force will be revealed in us and we will be able to spread it to other people who are attracted to us, not because the upper world and its attainment interest them, but because they see the need to unite by what nature offers us today; for ordinary people it is a call of nature.

I hope that everyone will gradually understand this and whoever still feels that he is still divided internally and cannot internalize these two opposite trends, will accept it and acknowledge it and will start working in the two directions.

I understand that it isn’t simple for a person, but we have to separate the two trends. A person has to clarify that our internal unity, what we deal with in the lessons and in the workshops belongs only to us, the world Bnei Baruch group; and what we do with the 99% of the population is not Kabbalah anymore, but mutual guarantee, integral education, etc.

What Is Darkness For The Ego Is Light For Me

The group is the AHP of the upper. I have to annul myself, to give up my AHP and to remain only in GE in order to adhere to the AHP of the group. There I feel darkness and despite that, I have to annul myself and to incorporate with the friends.

This is our work. Now too we are in two Partzufim, in the upper and in the lower. I am below the Machsom (barrier), and the upper intentionally lowers his AHP, the group, to me. If I want to connect with it, with the friends, I have to leave only the GEwith me. There is no other choice.

What actions are required in order to do that?

First of all, is the annulment of my own AHP (1). Next, I have to intensify my GE as much a possible. I annul them by that (↓), and then I can connect to the upper (→), to see it and to receive it.

The upper seems like darkness, and I am ready to receive it that way. It is good for me, since it is the upper, and I value it. It is depicted as darkness for my ego, but it is good for my “faith above reason.”

The moment I annul myself before the upper, we become one vessel, and then it already gives me the feeling of greatness, of connection, of expansion. It is simply because ourGE and AHP together make up ten Sefirot.

Then it isn’t the AHP of the upper any more but my AHP of the upper. It is like a child who says, “This is my Dad! This is my Mom!” by that he understands that they belong to him.

In addition, this upper has his own GE and AHP, which is a totally different AHP from the one he displays to me.

But the upper remains in a state of smallness and begins to raise our ten commonSefirot, the AHP to which I am adhered and my GE, and then I transcend the Machsom.

By that we should understand that we have no other AHP and no other upper but the group.
